TNA 2014 - Making An Impact

The WWE has all but run a monopoly on the professional wrestling world since March 2001. The buy out of WCW meant that WWE was now the biggest and baddest in the industry. With WWE running the World Wide wrestling industry, smaller companies began to form. All of them had the same goal: become a nationally recognized federation with billions of fans. One company that had this dream started May 10, 2002. Jeff and Jerry Jarrett created a company, hoping one day it would rival the WWE, the same way WCW did. A six-sided ring and a handful of independent talent followed the writing of Vince Russo and hoped for the best.

 

Fast forward almost twelve years and that is where we are now, only things are very different. Any influence that the Jarretts had left on the company are gone: no more Hogan, no more Bischoff, and no more Russo. One woman is in charge: Dixie Carter. Dixie Carter is leading the number two company in the US. Though they are light-years behind the mega-power WWE, Dixie Carter's TNA look to make an Impact on the wrestling world and chase down Vince McMahon's baby.

 

Can Impact Wrestling become #1 or are they forever behind WWE?

 

OOC- Okay, this is my first attempt at a diary, so if it sucks you can let me know. Also, I will be running a prediction contest, but for right now I'll just have predictions for Pay Per Views with the prize being a major booking decision. Feedback is welcome. Looking forward to this man, you have a good roster, although it looks a little big for TNA to me "/ I think TNA's biggest problem is a lack of recognisable jobbers. What I mean by that is that they have no one who can lose every week but still be over/popular/legit threats to Titles... Every time they get some, they end up pushing them and not replacing them...

If I were you, I'd start there, because with a Main Event roster like AJ Styles, Ken Anderson, Jeff Hardy, Lashley, Roode, Angle, Joe, Magnus, Aries... they've got plenty of top top names, and your tag division looks sorted too (with the exception of obvious jobbers)

Bad Influence seemed to have the more skill when it came to tag team wrestling as they cut the ring in half early. Eric Young fell victim to the two men shuffling in and out of the ring. Frankie Kazarian had started the match, but following a rib shattering spinebuster, he made the tag to Daniels. Christopher Daniels then went on the attack. He beat on Eric Young’s midsection. The cycle between the two continued as Abyss stood hungry on the apron. He waited for his chance to get in the ring. Following another tag, Kazarian made his way into the ring. Eric Young raked his eyes and began to crawl toward the monster. A dazed Kazarian stumbled back into his own corner where Christopher Daniels tagged himself in. He darted across the ring and grabbed EY’s ankle. Young’s fingertips barely missed his partner’s. The hot tag had failed and a frustrated Abyss looked furious. Daniels lifted Young off the ground and hooked both of his arms. Eric Young would get dropped onto the canvas face first after Daniels connected with the Angel’s Wings. Abyss stood on the apron as Brian Hebner slid into position and slapped the canvas. 1 – 2 – 3! Bad Influence picked up the win. Abyss stormed off from ringside, not waiting for his partner. A pair of sunglasses hung from the collar of his shirt as he twirled a microphone in his hands. If Angle loses the match then he never gets a title shot against Magnus. The match begins with action immediately. Kurt Angle did not want to waste any time in putting away Robbie E. The two men began to brawl in the center of the ring. Robbie E couldn’t keep up, for every one punch he landed, Kurt landed two. Kurt grabbed Robbie E by the wrist and hurled him into the ropes. On the rebound, Kurt hurled him overhead with a belly to belly. Robbie E’s body crashed into the canvas and Kurt slapped his chest. It was obvious losing wasn’t an option for the gold medalist. As Kurt went to pick Robbie E off the ground, he got his eyes raked by the tag team champ. Kurt was sent reeling back, holding his eyes. He couldn’t see what was coming next when Robbie E’s boot slammed into his chin. Kurt was sent crashing to the canvas after a superkick. Robbie E went to the top rope. He was looking for the Fist Pump (diving fist drop). He spent too much time taunting, and this time Kurt sent him to the canvas with a belly to belly from the top rope. Robbie E’s body was splattered on the canvas as Kurt took down the straps of his singlet. He grabbed Robbie E by the ankle and began to twist it. The ankle lock was locked in, and Robbie E had nowhere to go. However, the TNA World Heavyweight Champion stepping out on to the stage would force Kurt to let it go. The Olympian let the distraction get the best of him. He began shouting for Magnus to come down to the ring. As he was distracted, Robbie E got to his feet. He grabbed Kurt by the shoulder, spinning him around before leaping into the air. He brought Kurt face first into the canvas with a FTD (cutter). Robbie E went for the cover as the crowd was going nuts. 1 – 2 – NO! Kurt kicked out! Robbie E could not believe it. He argued with the referee, but Earl Hebner insisted it was only two. When Robbie E turned around, Kurt was on his feet. Robbie threw a wild strike that Kurt ducked. The gold medalist lifted Robbie off the canvas and brought him to the mat with an Angle Slam. Kurt went for the pin. 1 – 2 – 3!
