The Confederation of the Territories

http://i59.tinypic.com/egs5di.jpghttp://i58.tinypic.com/2n8a9w8.jpghttp://i61.tinypic.com/2zokdv8.jpghttp://i61.tinypic.com/qovssi.jpghttp://i58.tinypic.com/rgyn2x.jpg

The Confederation of the Territories was famously created by Sam Keith and over the years has developed a reputation of a strong conglomerate of wrestling promoters and promotions. Troy Winner, Larry Vessey, Sam Keith, Cliff Anderson & Joaquin Solar banded together to allow their performers to compete amongst each other, an opportunity they may not have had without the leadership of Sam Keith.

However, as the Confederation of the Territories makes steps to further it's standing in the wrestling world, the Confederation of the Territories will no longer be solely an agreement between five individual wrestling promotions, but an individual sixth promotion which will focus on bringing together the best of the best, in an effort to highlight the work of the other five promotions to bring up new stars for the wrestling world to discover.

At the end of March, the Confederation of the Territories will host it's World Heavyweight Championship tournament, which will feature the top two competitors from each individual promotion, as well as six brand new signees that will later be announced by the Confederation of the Territories.

Later in the year the COTT Tag Team Championships & North American Championship will also be awarded to worthy competitors, which will set the stage for many more COTT events to be held in the near future.

I am actually interested in this, not usually interested in C-Verse Dynasties so hope this doesn't disappoint. Always liked the NWA way of things and I hope that this is what you do with this dynasty, I can't for further development.

The Demons of Rage vs The Good Ol' Boys

- Considering the age of The Demons of Rage, the crowd was expecting a relatively slow paced match.

- However, the Good Ol' Boys were not going to be the tandem that provided the crowd in attendance with a slow match, as the duo quickly took to action.

- Wooton Fitzpaine was the first to land a significant blow, as he struck an unsuspecting Demon Anger with a hard clothesline.

- Demon Anger manages to make a tag to escape the violent attack of Wooton Fitzpaine.

- Demon Spite hops into the fray and shows us the fight that we've come to expect from the Demons, as he violently assaults Fitzpaine and forces him to tag out.

- The tag is, however, to no avail, as Demon Spite continues to take on all comers.

- Demon Spite connects with a large lariat that sends Thimbleby Langton flying out of the ring.

- Langton stumbles his way back into the ring, and he is greeted by a beautiful tag-team manoeuvre from the Demons, which puts Langton out on the mat.

- Demon Anger swings around the ring apron and takes out Wooton Fitzpaine before he has a chance to interrupt the pin, and the referee declares the Demons of Rage the winner of the inaugural COTT match.

Henry Bennett vs T-Bone Bright

- T-Bone Bright showed some promise in this match against a grizzled veteran that is Henry Bennett.

- Bright put up a good offense but was eventually snubbed at every turn by the old tricks of Henry Bennett.

- Bennett soon found a way to ground the energetic youngster, and held him down with a slow-paced submission-based offense.

- After attempting submission after submission, Bennett finally let the youngster up and tossed him into the corner.

- After laying a pounding down on Bright in the corner, Bright snapped out of his confusion and placed a boot directly to the face of Henry Bennett.

- Seeing a potential victory, Bright rushed to finish the match.

- After hoisting Bennett to his feet, Bright goes for the finish and is countered hard, landing face first on the canvas and falling victim to a Camel Clutch.

- Holding on for dear life, Bright tries to make it to the ropes but is unable, and is unfortunately forced to tap out.

Narato vs Cip Conduit

- Not many anticipated Cip Conduit to put up a big fight against the always dangerous Narato.

- As such, the experience factor played a huge role as Narato dominated Conduit throughout the match, effectively shutting down any offense he could put forward.

- Narato flew around the ring, using his acrobatics to throw Conduit off his game, as well as using them to deal some serious damage to Conduit's body.

- By the end of the match, Conduit looked exhausted and was seemingly looking for a way out.

- Narato put the nail in the coffin, finishing the match with a beautiful Moonsault off of the top turnbuckle, and picking up the three count to win the match.

Dazzling Dave Diamond vs Elijah Harris

- As two competitors who were just snubbed of the "First Impressions" match, both men have something to prove in this co-main event tonight.

- Dave Diamond was on the back pedal for most of the match, as he tried to avoid getting locked down by the grizzled veteran Elijah Harris.

- Harris did manage to get him to the ground, albeit not for long, as Diamond would make his way back to his feet and throw some violent strikes that threatened to knock Harris out, let alone knock him down.

- After the momentum swing, Diamond continued to put pressure on his opponent.

- Harris slowly began to break down and as Diamond sensed his opportunity, he moved in for the kill.

- Diamond hit his patented Diamond Cutter but was unable to put Harris away.

- Harris goes for the quick roll-up and almost scored the pin.

- Diamond rolls through with it and puts Harris on his back and picks up the victory.

The Great Ota vs Travis Century vs Boone vs Puerto Rican Power vs Sgt Bubba Lee West vs Clark Alexander

"COTT First Impressions Match"

- The six men square off in the COTT ring, trying to get a feel of each other before blitzing into action.

- Boone is the first to make a big move, violently assaulting Clark Alexander and tossing him out of the ring to the floor below.

- Since this match is an elimination match, Alexander gets a chance to regain his strength outside the ring as he was not pinned.

- Ota stays on the outside of the apron, looking to avoid contact and seems fine to stay in the shadows.

- Bubba Lee West & Travis Century get into it in the corner of the ring, going blow for blow as neither man will be the first to drop.

- The slug-fest is interrupted by Boone, who takes both men to the canvas with him.

- Puerto Rican Power makes his presence known, pulling Boone out of the heap as the two big men face off.

- Back and forth the two men strike each other, until they are also in turn interrupted by both West & Century.

- As the four men brawl in the center of the ring, Ota positions himself on the top turnbuckle and comes flying off with a very high Frog-Splash.

- All five men hit the ground and Ota quickly rolls out of the ring and goes back to playing the outside.

- Alexander is back in the ring and is looking to do some damage, grabbing hold of Travis Century and tossing him into the corner.

- Alexander blasts Century with punch after punch, until he is eventually seated in the corner, prone to a variety of offense from the Hawaiian.

- However, it is not by Alexander's will that he capitalizes on this, as Boone hoists him up and throws him into the corner, directly into the already downed Travis Century.

- Puerto Rican Power tries to steal the glory from Boone, and drags both Century & Alexander to the center of the ring and tries to pin both men at the same time by standing on them.

- Boone does not like having glory stolen apparently, as he interrupts the pin solely to take Puerto Rican Power down.

- Ota catches Bubba Lee West on the outside of the apron and pulls his legs out from under him.

- West slams his face on the canvas and blindly swings to no avail, as Ota has already made his way to a safe place.

- The first pin comes when West groggily enters the ring after his encounter with Ota.

- West gets caught with a big clothesline from Boone.

- Travis Century eagerly seeks his opportunity to make a quick move, and applies a deadly sleeper hold that threatens to put Bubba unconscious.

- Bubba refuses to tap and goes limp, leaving himself open to be pinned by Century.

Sgt. Bubba Lee West Eliminated

- Ota finally starts to get more involved with the match, getting caught in the center of the ring by both big men.

- Ota narrowly escapes disaster, as a split second before being caught in a Puerto Rican-Boone sandwich, he drops to his stomach and allows the two freight trains to collide with each other.

- With both big men floored, Travis Century, Clark Alexander & Ota have a chance to shine amongst each other.

- The three men swing at each other with reckless intent.

- Alexander and Century grow wise to Ota's tricks, and floor him with a deadly double team manoeuvre.

- However, they seem to thing Ota is down for the count, and as Alexander turns away, Ota ensnares Century in a heel hook that floors him.

- Seeing Century go down, a distracted Alexander does not see the incoming Boone, who floors him with a brutal spear-tackle, leaving him down for the count.

- Boone makes the cover and nobody makes a move to interrupt, happy to let Alexander be eliminated.

Clark Alexander Eliminated

- Puerto Rican Power finally gets back to his feet and Ota happily welcomes him back, flying at him with reckless abandon, flooring the two of them.

- Power is quicker to get back to his feet this time, capitalizing on a downed Ota to toss him out of the ring, hoping to keep him out of the match for a little while.

- Century is slumped in the corner after a beating courtesy of Boone.

- Punch after punch, elbow after elbow, some brutal knees and even a big boot to the jaw will not put the grizzled veteran down however, as Century remains on his feet throughout the entire onslaught.

- Boone tires himself out and has to take a breather, leaving himself vulnerable to a big Spinebuster from Puerto Rican Power.

- The ring looks like a war zone, with three of the four men nearly unconscious, and one of the men looking close to it.

- Puerto Rican Power continues to beat on Travis Century, picking up where Boone left off.

- Ota sneaks back onto the ring apron and drags Century out of the ring, and sneaking in a low blow to Puerto Rican Power which leaves him bent over in the corner, facing the turnbuckle.

- Ota hops onto the top turnbuckle and flies over with a Sunset Flip, looking for a pin.

- Puerto Rican Power rolls through with it, and lands directly back onto his feet.

- However, he lands in perfect time for a Boone lariat, which leaves him floored.

- Boone tosses Ota out of the way and goes for the pin, taking out the big Puerto Rican and effectively removing another big threat.

Puerto Rican Power Eliminated

- Ota & Boone are looking like the freshest men in this match, as Travis Century continues to stumble around the ring looking for a place to rest.

- Ota will allow it, but Boone is not so keen to the idea.

- Boone chases down the groggy veteran, and slams him face first on the mat.

- Ota sneaks off once more, this time seeking refuge by the announcers desk.

- Century takes another beating from Boone, who just can't seem to put him away.

- The will of the old man is stronger than his body, and the crowd in attendance (as well as the commentators) begin to question whether he will make it out of this match alive.

- Ota saves Century from the beating, and focuses his energy on taking care of Boone.

- Ota and Boone battle it out in the middle of the squared circle, Ota using his agility, Boone using his brute force.

- After a big clothesline fails to connect with Ota, a lightning fast spinning back kick sends Boone into and over the ropes.

- Ota sees his opportunity and drags Century into the middle of the ring and puts him out of misery.

- Ota lands a big Enziguiri that floors Century, leaving him open to the pin.

Travis Century Eliminated

- Boone makes his way back into the ring and it doesn't look like either of the men have much left in them, as Boone and Ota look exhausted.

- Ota looks like he has a little bit more left in the tank, as he is the one dictating the pace of the match.

- Boone misses more and more strikes and cannot make contact with anything, which shifts the momentum more and more into Ota's favor.

- Boone cannot connect with anything until Ota miscalculates, hopping off of the middle rope into a spring board Moonsault, which lands him directly onto Boone's shoulder.

- Boone looks like he's ready to drive Ota into the canvas.

- Boone positions himself and goes for the run.

- Ota swings himself around right before Boone can do it, and spins his way into a quick Hurricanrana that floors Boone.

- Ota hops onto the top rope and lands a beautiful corkscrew Moonsault puts a quick end to the match.

Boone Eliminated

Pro Wrestling DX Presents:

- Who's Really Running COTT? -

We know the personalities of the Confederation of the Territories. Whether they are the in-ring performers, announcers, colour commentators or managers, the young men & women of the various promotions in this alliance are all slowly making their respective presences known on the independent circuit.

But who are the men responsible for bringing us these competitors? Although we know their names and physical appearances just by looking at them, Joaquin Soler, Troy Winner & Cliff Anderson are not at all on the level of Sam Keith & Larry Vessey in terms of popularity. Sam Keith & Larry Vessey were pioneers for the wrestling business throughout the nineties, and although the other three men made waves in their own separate ways, when it comes to the business they are now involved in, there is a clear gap.

And to couple that with the fact that we don't even know who's booking the Confederation of the Territories (the promotion that is). Somebody's got to be running the place, and there's no possible way that any of the previously named men can handle two promotions at once. Perhaps it's a collective effort, but that also seems quite unlikely.

Today is as good as any day to unravel the mystery that is the Confederation of the Territories, as well as the men who run it. Let's start with the man who's been kicking things into overdrive as of late; Joaquin Soler:

Joaquin Soler
is an entrepreneur first, and a wrestling promoter second. Make no mistake about that. This is man who is far more concerned with making money than providing fans with heroes to root for and villains to despise. Soler's self-made "AiRecover" business that assisted in finding lost airport baggage led him to make a fortune in sales, and after selling his business for an enormous fee, invested some of his money in OLLIE. Soler literally brings a down-south influence to the alliance, as he is the sole owner and contributor involved in the alliance that delivers a full arsenal of masked "luchadors" that are ready to flip, tuck, tumble and fly around the ring in order to ensure the fans in attendance get their moneys worth. After sitting back and avoiding the booking of the promotion for a long while, Soler decided that it was time to take things into his own hands after spending a long time getting a handle on the business. Look for Soler to push his Universal Champion, Nicolas Lopez, into the COTT World Heavyweight Title picture, along with OLLIE's finest: Plata, El Critico, Marcos Flores & most recently, Huracan Sandoval Jr. Soler is also tasked with finding himself a new, worthy competitor to hold the OLLIE Mexican Championship, which was found vacant after the abolishment of the Women's Division. Where will Soler take his promotion now that it's made it's way nearly fully back into his hands, we don't really know, but I can tell you with utmost certainty that wherever he takes it, it will go nowhere near Troy Winner's 4C.

Troy Winner
has been running Canadian Charisma Championship Combat probably since before a lot of wrestling fans were born. Unfortunately, he's still not any taller than any of the aforementioned wrestling fans. In fact, As a matter of fact, if height were directly related to years in the business, Troy Winner may have been one of the tallest men to ever run a wrestling promotion. OK, enough with the midget jokes, because as much as Troy's height is a well known fact, it's also a well known fact that he has a very short temper *cymbals*. All jokes aside, Troy has been making waves north of the border for a long time, pushing a product that is very "in your face" and aggressive, and as 4C will soon surpass it's 20th anniversary, it's probably an understatement to say that the product still works. Troy knows how to talk the big talk, and he uses his big talk to bring in future stars and potential "Supreme Challenge Main Eventers". Troy has pushed competitors like Jacob Jett, Joey Poison, Darryl Devine, and most notably Phenomenal E (who now competes under the bright lights of the Burning Hammer). If Troy has his way, look for Sayeed Ali to be brought into the spotlight and be given a real chance to shine with the Confederation of the Territories. Troy has a few competitors that he could push to greatness once more, but not nearly as many as, possibly the hottest spot in the Confederation, Cliff Anderson's Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling.

Cliff Anderson
has, for years, promoted a fast paced environment for high intensity wrestlers to flaunt their athleticism. Almost an astonishing forty year veteran of the business, Cliff has done play-by-play for nearly every single independent promotion in North America that a wrestling super-fan can think of, and that's not even his biggest accomplishment. Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling has become a hotbed for some of the finest talent the independent wrestling scene can offer, and naturally, it is regularly poached by wrestling superpowers Total Championship Wrestling and the Supreme Wrestling Federation, as well as USPW and the Japanese Puro-Scene. It's resume for producing high level wrestlers laced with endless star power is showcased by the amount of wrestlers Cliff has had a hand in leading to bigger and better things. Valiant & James Prudence have jumped ship to the SWF, Chance Fortune, Troy Tornado, Sammy Bach, Flying Jimmy Foxx, and most notably, Rocky Golden have made their ways to TCW, and last but not least, Ultimate Phoenix has made his way to SOTBPW where he has held two different championships. Cliff now has a large arsenal of competitors to push to success, not just limited to COTT, but almost literally anywhere they choose to go in the world. Donnie J, Frankie Perez & Mikey James, American Fox, Remmy Skye, Masked Cougar, Al Coleman & Marc Speed... I could go on and on with this promotion, but I feel like by the end of it, every single name on the roster would have been listed. CZCW is stacked with talent and it is very much in the realm of possibilities that CZCW will house the first ever COTT World Heavyweight Champion. But now it's time to move into the the world of two of wrestling's finest. First, we'll start with Larry Vessey.

Larry Vessey
made waves with his brother Bryan Vessey. The Vesseys have held the TCW (then known as HGC) Tag Team Championships an astounding six-times, and Larry himself has held the TWL Tag Team Championships and the CGC World Championship without the help of his brother. Larry was chosen by The Stomper to run New York City Wrestling after the latter's retirement, and Vessey has done a great job keeping the old school feel of the promotion intact. NYCW's biggest claim to fame is that they once housed possibly the biggest talent in the world right now, the quasi-legendary Jack Bruce. With talent like Bulldozer Brandon Smith, Animal Harker, Roger Cage & Sammy The Shark leading the way into the new generation with the help of many of the old guard, it's very possible that one of "New York's Finest" make their way out of the melting pot and into the sweet embrace of the COTT World Heavyweight Championship. One man that would like to one up Larry Vessey, however, is Sam Keith.

Sam Keith
took over the booking of one of the most well recognized developing territories from the legendary Rip Chord, and that was no easy task to handle. But Sam Keith had something to prove, and he has held his own while running the, although small, wrestling promotion that is most known for it's ability to send it's wrestlers on the right path. Although MAW's wrestlers do not go directly from their stay in the Mid Atlantic to the brightest of lights, some have found their way there. Des Davids is probably the biggest success story (as well as a large stroke of the ego that Rip Chord really did not need). Many have moved on to smaller scale operations than the SWF, but a stay at USPW or NOTBPW is a great start. Some have even made their way to the land of the rising sun, like Matthew Keith. Keith now has the opportunity to focus on more future stars, like Dr Michael Thorpe (Citizen X), Findlay O'Farraday, Hollywood Bret Starr, KC Glenn & Max Mayhem to name a few. Although it does not get poached as much as CZCW does, and although it's unlikely that COTT will see it's first World Heavyweight Champion come from the Mid Atlantic, you cannot deny that MAW and Sam Keith produce a crop of talent that is inevitably set for life in the wrestling world. It is almost a guarantee that every single member of the roster will find their place, it's really just a matter of time.

This last man is the true man of mystery that this article is about. The man behind the actual promotion that is the COTT. The man who will hand pick the COTT World Heavyweight Champion and the man that will represent the work that the alliance has put forth in order to make their way to becoming a network of promotions that are known and recognized as highly as their talent. The man who has placed The Great Ota as the sole competitor in the COTT World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. The man who was able to sway the legendary Demons of Rage into making some more appearances and extending their respective legacies. That man, is
Eric Tyler
. Eric Tyler decided to jump at the opportunity to make an even bigger name for himself, one that he felt he truly deserved and had not yet obtained. Is this one last lunge for a coveted spot in the Hall of Immortals, or is this just his way of swaying the wrestling industry in his direction. His product of old school, good versus evil storytelling, and legitimate wrestling is one that can either flop or fly, and for Eric Tyler, this can be the move that truly turns the man into a legend, or forces the man to crawl back into his shell for good. And that, is truly what this business is all about.
