WCW Wins the War but What Happens to Vince McMahon Now!!!!!

Recommended Posts

First things first for those unaware I opened this dynasty voting on which promotion I would begin as. Well sadly the voting ended in a tie so I broke the tie by choosing in my opinion the more interesting opinion. So now let's get to the background:

The McMahon family has been in the wrestling business for over 75 years at this point. Vince is now the third generation of his family to be in the wrestling industry. Everything was going great but then at the end of April 1998 a bill came into to Vince's Office that was to big even for him. Vince would then take the next months to decide what the next course of action would be. After months of trying to figure out a way to overcome the large deficient 15 million dollars in costs, but sadly Ole Vinnie couldn't figure things out. Before the next Monday Night Raw in June Week 4, Vince calls a company meeting with everyone at the show. Vince had this to say to his talent & Staff:

Vince: Thank you all for coming to this meeting, I know some of you at this point may know what this meeting is all about but to put to bed any rumors I will tell all of you what has been going on. Two months ago a very large bill was delivered to my office and it was bill we couldn’t afford as a company. I hate to say it because I feel like I failed my father and grandfather, but it’s time for me to say that sadly I have closed the WWF. This Sunday at the King of the Ring will be our last show, and all I want to say is Thank You!!! I want to Thank each and every one of you guy for all you have done for me and my family over the years, but things just couldn’t be fixed. I also just want to say that this isn’t the end for the McMahon’s in the wrestling business as I will be back and things will be different this time. However, I am unable to keep any of you under contract so as of July Week 1, all of you are free agents and are free work anywhere. Let’s make this last week the best we can……

Join me as we try and pick up the pieces of family name that once meant dominance and commanded respect in the wrestling business.

Vince: Hmm!!! What do I do now………

A couple of weeks after the talent meeting at Raw, Vince holds a meeting with some of his trusted advisers about his next move.

(Jim Ross, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson, Jerry Lawler, Sgt Slaughter, Jim Cornette, & Howard Finkle)

Vince: Thank you all for coming to my home on such short notice, all of you seven are my most loyal and trusted employees. I need help deciding what my next move is, but I don't know what way to go that's I called you guys.

Pat: Anything we can do to help Vince we are here.

JR: Vince, what are you thinking about doing?

Vince: Well, JR I am thinking about opening a new company but I don't know any information about it just yet. Like the same name, starting date, TV contract, etc. That's why I called all of you here today.

Gerald: Ok Vince well try and help you, but naming a promotion isn't always the easiest thing to do in just one day.

Jim: Vince, your name depends on a couple of things if your looking for National Expansion, & Where the company is based.

Vince: I agree with you Jim, that's a good point. Maybe we should take a step back and figure where it should be based first.

Jerry: Well you & your family have done well on the east coast so why not stay with what your family has done.

Pat: Never hurts to change some things to make things have a different fell then the last.

Vince: Both of you have good points and I think, I need some time to think. But it seems as though a new promotion is the way to go.

Howard: Vince I was your first employee when you took over WWF from your dad and I would love to be your first employee again.

Vince: (Voice cracking) Thank you Howard. I thank each and everyone of you for your help and I hope I can count on you when I begin the hiring process.

(A collective nod as everyone begins to leave Vince's house)

I now look to you guys and gals let me know the two big things about this dynasty:

Give a possible name/names.

Where the company should be based.

What Size should the company start on. (Regional, Cult, etc)

Thank you and I hope you enjoy this Dynasty as much as I will!!!!

Name: World Wrestling Empire (gets you to WWE faster) or Global Elite Wrestling GEW

Location: Either stay in the tristate/North East area or go somewhere less active say the Southwest for the Hollywood connect.

Size: Anything associated with Vince will have buzz even more so if you go the Hollywood route, so low National

Some advice, when you do promo's and such, try and get into the character, don't just put up words, watch the product from the time and really try and capture the feel, while still getting your vision across. The other thing, write everything up in a word document and run the spell and grammar checks. I noticed a few errors here and there, by no means does it kill interest, but over time it can with some people, better to get good habits going now then try and fix them once the bad ones are ingrained.

I agree with Frantic. WWE is good. As for location, I'd say a change of scenery to Southwest is great, especially with Hollywood stuff as he said. But I'd say start at either Regional or Cult. Local/small are out obviously as Vince would never waste his time. Int'l/Global are out as a startup. And I think that with losing that much money, it makes no sense that he'd just startup a brand new National company right away. So if you want more of a challenge, I'd say Regional. But Cult work as right in between both and gives you a solid start

So I have made my decision and have chosen to take a different approach and move to the South West Region for the company. The company will be a Cult level and the name of the company will be........

Global Elite Wrestling

I would like to thank everyone for the suggestions there were some really good ideas. I also need to credit franticloser for the name.

Now that the name is out of the way a roster, titles, and event names are next.

Any suggestions for talent I should take a look at remember WWF went out of business and it's 1998.

Well first off did you do a buy out of WWF to WCW? Because in reality, closing your company doesn't erase your debt, so I would assume he sold the company to Turner, meaning a lot of WWF guys are there now.

That will make this hard and fun, you can't use top names, since they are all locked up, but that means you get to make new names. My suggestion, find out your product and build your roster around that.

Prediction Contest:

For this dynasty I will be rewarding those whom post prediction and get their predictions right. The time period that I will keep track of these predictions will be over the course of 3 months. As to start I will not have a weekly television show for the first two months.

Rewards Include:

1. Being able to name a company PPV.

2. Being able to sign a free agent to a pay-per appearance contract with the company.

3. Being able to put together a feud including two current employees in the company.

4. Being able to put together a match for the weekly television show.

I hope you all don't judge on the past and I hope you give this dynasty a fair chance.

A very good showing by The Enforcer however, inexperience rears its ugly head in this contest as The Enforcer had the match won but took his time with Vader, which let the veteran capitalize on the younger. In a match that featured good action & good heat from the crowd Vader wins after a thunderous Vader Bomb to The Enforcer. Vader is the GEW World Champion.</span></p><p align="center" id=""> </p> </div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>

I very rarely even sign in, let alone comment on threads. I may send a handful of pm's per year that's about it unless something really has me intrigued or I have a question. Anyway, I usually stick to threads that I catch at the start or ones I really like obviously. Yours is something different from the plethora of modern day WWE/TNA diaries, or the early 90's diaries that everyone is doing. So as long as you keep posting, I'll follow when I can. First show was pretty decent. Writing was ok. A little bland, but I'm sure that'll improve along with your storylines. Wrestlers you have aren't gonna be the future besides The Enforcer, but a decent enough roster for now. Interested to see which young guys you bring in. Just keep pluggin away, it'll start to come together

In other news GEW has locked up two free agents who are set to make a huge impact in GEW when they debut. Though their names have not been made public as of yet we do know that one is an established star and the other is a young gun for the future.
