WWA- A New Era of Pro-Wrestling

Recommended Posts

First of all to those who may not know what WWA (World Wrestling Association) actually was well I tell you. The WWA was company based in the Great Lakes were Dick The Bruiser, Bobo Brazil, The Sheik, Wilbur Snyder, etc were stars in even into their late 50's. Which is why I thought they needed a change, onto the background:

Hello!! My name is Craig DeGeorge and my new friends, this is WWA or World Wrestling Association a company based in the Great Lakes region. This company is separate from the NWA and will always be separate from the NWA. However, the course of the last few years things have dragged with management being held in the past, and trusting talents who drew money in the past to carry the company. This had made a majority of the company become old and past their primes; however I see it as all of these men still have value to the WWA. There value to this company is helping me set up for the future.

While it’s on my mind let me explain just how I got into the position I am in right now as the new Owner of the WWA. Well it’s actually pretty simple, I have grown up a wrestling fan here in Indiana and the one company that has always been around is WWA. However when I was growing up I remember seeing: Dick The Bruiser, The Crusher, Bobo Brazil, The Sheik, and others on my TV screen every time I watched the program. Now I watched and I saw the same people now in their 50’s still on my TV screen. This made me see the WWA needed to change so I thought about it and began writing down ideas how they can change and be successful. What I came up with was that I needed to first buy in some way the WWA, so what I did was I went to the next WWA show in Indiana to talk with Wilbur Snyder. When I was at the next show, I gave Wilbur a business proposition which saw him selling the company for a discounted but I would continue to pay Wilbur to sit at home and do nothing. Wilbur was elated because he really wanted to get out of the wrestling business and he took my offer. I much like Wilbur was elated once accepted the deal but for a different reason, I owned the company I grew with. That is a fans dream, but it slowly became a nightmare, because Wilbur called a talent meeting after the show and told all the talent he sold the company to me and that I was now in charge. Wilbur bided farewell to the wrestlers and his booker, then proceeded to walk out the door knowing he got his wish and he was finally out of the wrestling business.

I began to speak with the talent and told them "I don’t care if you don’t like me, but respect me and the fact that I am here to help the company succeed and build for the future." Not long after I began Dick the Bruiser interrupted saying “I will not work for a young punk who doesn’t know s*** about the business and I will not see you destroy all me and Wilbur worked hard to build.” Then Bruiser proceeded to walk out the same door Wilbur Snyder left from not too long ago and he wasn't the only one as Terry Sullivan, Greg Wojokowski, Chris Markoff, Victor Rivera, and The Dream Machine all followed their former bosses out the door. I was extremely frustrated about Dream Machine considering he was Tag Champions with Rick McGraw. But I was in charged and I needed to shake this big blow off, gather myself and see who stayed and who I can bring into my company to help fit my vision. So please join me as I begin my journey in a new era for the WWA and also a new era for wrestling in the Great Lakes.

WWA: New Era Tour

Pre-Show: Stoney Burke vs Paul Christy

The show begins and we hear a new voice in the broadcast booth that of the new owner Craig DeGeorge. Craig welcomes us to WWA and promises we will have a great show tonight and also mentions that this is WWA, and though he might not be who you were expecting he still hopes you’ll stay and enjoy. Before he can continue his voice is interrupted by another voice that of a very familiar sound as it sounds like manager Eddie Creatchman. We soon find out it his him as he makes his way through the curtain. Eddie then proceeds to make his way to the ring and asks for a microphone.

“I have something to say and that mean you listen tonight marks the beginning of the WWA and the future of wrestling. But the future of wrestling doesn’t leave Eddie Creatchman behind I leave it behind, that is why tonight right at this very moment my new real man who will not only raise my wallet but tear apart anyone who gets in his way. Please show your respect for King Kong Bundy." (B-)

King Kong Bundy vs Rick McCord (E+)

Both men are making their debuts tonight here in the WWA, as it’s a new era in the company which means new talent as well. This match was nothing short of squash match and Bundy showed exactly why he is the “Master of the 5 Minute Match.” Bundy causes the ref stop the match at 4:43 after causing so much damage to McCord.

Bobo Brazil hype video is ran now highlighting Bobo’s past in the Territory (C+)

Moose Cholak vs Pat Kelly (D)

A rare appearance in singles competition for one of the Kelly brothers in this contest. One of the few veterans of the territory left Moose Cholak shows just how good he still is by controlling most of this one with little offense from Kelly. Moose wins at 8:04 with a big splash to Kelly.

Following the match Craig DeGeorge meets Cholak at ringside for an interview.

DeGeorge: “That was a good win Moose, but why did you want this time if you don’t mind me asking.”

Moose Cholak: “Well I have been in this business now for 29 years and I don’t plan on leaving just yet. But with the entrance now of so many young men into the WWA I need to step up and be leader. That will start tonight with this challenge; I right now challenge The Sheik to meet in that ring for fight. I need to prove to my fans and to myself that it’s not time to hang it up and that I can still reach down and be someone special when it counts. Sheik I want to face you in the ring will you accept my challenge.”

DeGeorge: “Moose are you sure you know what you’re doing I mean The Sheik isn’t exactly a normal man.”

Moose Cholak: “No I am not sure what I am doing, all I am sure about is that if my career is coming to a close I need to make my mark on this company and beating The Sheik is how I’ll do it.” Craig continues as Moose walks away “Well that is a very noble thing to do and I wish you the best of luck.” (D+)

Road Warriors vs Bobby Colt & Igor Zatkoff (C-)

For the most part this match was nothing short of four rugged tough individuals going at in the middle of the ring. The Kelly Brothers also came to the ring prior to the match beginning to watch the match and see how the newest team in the WWA operates. However, in the match inexperience played a factor and not from the younger but from the older team of Colt and Igor. Said inexperience in many cost them the match and helped the Road Warriors win the match. The ending came when Animal took advantage of miscommunication between Igor and Colt to hit Igor with a thunderous power-bomb for the 3 at 12:58.

After the match ends we pan in on Craig DeGeorge standing at ringside and he says we have a special guest. Craig introduces his special guest as a second generation superstar and a member of the Armstrong family….. Brad Armstrong.

DeGeorge: “Brad please let me be the first to welcome you to the WWA and I hope you’re enjoying things here thus far.”

Armstrong: “Yes, I am very much so enjoying myself I mean how I could not enjoy myself being in such a historic company. Also having……. You know something the only good thing here is that I don’t have to be in father’s shadow here like I am everywhere else I go.”

DeGeorge: “Brad where is this coming from I thought you loved the fact your dad paved the way for you to get into the business.”

Armstrong: “Don’t get me wrong now I am happy my dad helped me get into the business, but I am not him and people need to stop comparing to him because I am going to be better than he ever was.”

DeGeorge: “Brad you do know that your dad as far I know has yet to retire from pro-wrestling and is still enjoying a very nice career.”

Armstrong: “You are just like all of these people that just because my dad helped me into the business that means I need to be forever grateful to him. Last time I checked he should be the one grateful to me that I chose to go into the “family business.” He and everyone else that tries to put in their shadow especially Bobo Brazil, which by the way I saw his video earlier and it made me sick. All those people who think I belong in their shadow like my dad and Bobo need to realize it’s time to hang it up and move on to something new because your too old for this now.

DeGeorge: “I can’t believe what hearing Bobo is legend in this company and that isn’t the right first impression to make in a new company.”

Armstrong: “What Bobo is untouchable and nobody can talk bad about him or is that because I am Bob’s kid that means I am suppose to be a good boy. Well I hate break it to you, but let me spell it out for you and I’ll go slow since most of you people aren’t that smart; I don’t respect anyone who tries to hold on to the past. I’m sick of all you people; so I am going back to the greatest state in the union my home state of Georgia now.”

DeGeorge: “That was disgusting I can’t believe the lack of respect that Brad Armstrong has for those who paved the way for him to be where he is today.” (D-)

The Sheik vs Tom Jones (D)

This match very much so was The Sheik being Sheik and showing what has made him the most feared wrestler in the world for so many years. Though, Jones had some offense The Sheik spent most of the match inflicting damage on Jones and seemed as though he was having fun doing it. Sheik wins via the Arabian Backbreaker at 10:13.

Following the match Craig DeGeorge was going to step up for another interview this time with Eddie Creatchman and The Sheik. However, Creatchman had Sheik scare DeGeorge back to the broadcast position. Now holding his own microphone Creatchman starts:

“Earlier in this television show a lose nut American, Moose Cholak challenged the Noble Sheik to a match anytime. Well Cholak I hope you know what you’re doing because the noble Sheik doesn’t back down from a fight. If you’re worried about your career maybe being over then The Noble Sheik will certainly be the one to help end it whenever you want it to.” (C-)

Brad Armstrong vs Steve Regal (D)

A solid Main Event showing off both the new and old in the WWA. Brad continues to show more cockiness of which we saw earlier tonight and he also show very good stamina. Regal however almost pass out before the match ends which helps Armstrong really take advantage of Regal near the end. Armstrong wins at 16:43 with a solid pin-fall win.

Final Rating: D+

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>WWA: Championship Wrestling </p><p> </p><p>

Show begins and Craig DeGeorge welcomes us to the show. Craig “Welcome to WWA Championship Wrestling tonight we will be another great show as the new era of WWA continues. Tonight our Main Event will see Brad Armstrong go up against Moose Cholak, one will have to wonder if see The Sheik at all tonight. Also tonight we will be getting Bobo Brazil’s on what Brad Armstrong said about him last week on this program.”</p><p> </p><p>

DeGeorge: “I would now like to introduce my guest at this please give a warm welcome to….. Kelly Kiniski. Kelly, welcome to WWA and I would just like to know how you are enjoying your time so far.”</p><p>

Kiniski: “I will be short and to point Craig, I hate it here and so far my point has been proven why Canada is the superior country over the United States. All these people here think just because they live in the United States they are entitled to something. I hate to break it to them but they are entitled to nothing and they are no better than any other country. If anything they are worse and can’t wait to home to Canada.” </p><p>

DeGeorge: “Well then why did you accept a job with an American company if you hate America so much? </p><p>

Kiniski: “That was stupid question, but I’ll still give it an answer which is look at my name it is Kelly Kiniski. With that last name that means unlike these people I am entitled to something, because in the wrestling business the name Kiniski means greatness and not just in Canada but in the US as well. I came here as favor to all of these people so they could see wrestling royalty. Now I am feeling generous so I will give a special surprise and that is you people will see royalty first hand compete right before your very eyes.” (D-)</p><p> </p><p>

Kelly Kiniski vs Tom Jones (E+)</p><p>

Though Kelly is only 22 years old he has grown up in the business because of his dad Gene teaching him the ropes and if you going to learn from anyone, I think there nothing better than learning from a former World champion. Even though the match featured a good crowd with some decent in-ring action management was still disappointed by the overall match quality. <strong>Kelly wins via a surprise cradle at 7:32. </strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following the match the camera pans over to Craig DeGeorge who is standing around and then says:</p><p> </p><p>

DeGeorge: “Last week was the beginning of a new era for the WWA, but there is no way this company could into a new era without a leader and tonight the leader has returned. Please help me in welcoming back and give a warm welcome to Bobo Brazil.” </p><p>

Brazil: “Thanks for the nice introduction Craig and I want to thank all of you for the very nice response. I just want to say that I am here for this company and I would be more than happy to help this company move toward the future.” </p><p>

DeGeorge: “Well it’s funny you bring up the future Bobo because last week newcomer Brad Armstrong said some strong words which were directed at you; most had to with Brad apparently thinking it’s time for you to retire. What are your thoughts on what Brad said last week?” </p><p>

Brazil: “It takes a special kind of person to be able to speak up and act like a man when you’re not around to defend yourself. But now that I here tonight where is Brad Armstrong why hasn’t he said a word. Armstrong I will keep this short because I didn’t have as much success as I have had here by talking I done it with wrestling. So if you want a fight then come on down and let’s do this. </p><p>

DeGeorge: “Now, Now Bobo you don’t want to start something tonight and I would probably say that Brad is backstage preparing for the main event tonight. But are you laying out the challenge to Brad Armstrong.” </p><p>

Brazil: “You’re darn right I am and if I can’t have you tonight then Brad how about on January 16th in the Cobol Hall, you fight me then.” (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

King Kong Bundy vs Stoney Burke (E+)</p><p>

Last week Bundy crushed Rick McCord in around 4 minutes and this week I am sure he wanted to do the same thing to Stoney. However, Stoney put up a little more of a fight against Bundy then McCord but it still wasn’t enough to overcome Bundy. Bundy decimated Stoney for most of match and was even toying with him at a point or two during the match. <strong>Bundy wins with a Big Splash at 6:21. </strong></p><p> </p><p>

Before the next match can begin the Kelly Brothers dart out towards Craig and one of them picks up a microphone. (I believe it to be Mike) Mike speaks “This is crazy how is my brother put in a one on one match last week, doesn’t everyone we are tag team. The only reason why Moose won is because my brother isn’t used to being involved in one on one matches. As of this moment the Kelly Brothers both believe my brother loss shouldn’t count because we are a tag team and shouldn’t be in singles competition. Therefore to make it up to us we should be given the Tag Team Titles since we have No Competition!!” (Just before they continue a new song hit through the PA and out walks the familiar yet new Road Warriors Hawk and Animal. The Kelly Brothers expression is that of if they had just seen two ghosts and both men leap out of the ring so fast that most people wonder how they left so quickly.) (D) </p><p> </p><p>

Bobo Brazil vs Igor Zatkoff (D+)</p><p>

Two big bulls collide in this contest and it showed from what we saw in the match that these two are not mat technicians. At one point in the match Igor was actually biting the forehead of Bobo Brazil and did it on more than one occasion over the course of the match, it got to the point where the ref had to threaten Igor with DQ to get him to stop biting Bobo. <strong>Bobo won the match with the Coco Butt at 9:04. </strong></p><p> </p><p>

It is announced following the match that The Kelly Brothers will face The Road Warriors on January 16 at the Big Event for the Vacate Tag Team Titles. As we go on commercial. </p><p>

We are back from a commercial break and Craig is standing in the ring, he has a look of somewhat shock on his face. </p><p> </p><p>

DeGeorge: “Excuse me everyone I have an announcement, much to my surprise Brad Armstrong is actually in the arena tonight and has asked for some time so please welcome my guest Brad Armstrong.” </p><p>

(Armstrong’s music plays as he comes down the ramp) </p><p>

Armstrong: “Talk about being a biased announcer, your job is to be unbiased and be fair to everyone. You just showed that you don’t like me very much do you Craig.” </p><p>

DeGeorge: “No I don’t very much like you because of sudden attitude change and the disrespect you showed last week for your father and Bobo Brazil.” </p><p>

Armstrong: “Give me a break, this is pro-wrestling it isn’t ballet; we don’t all have to be nice to each other were instead of fighting we just hug and that solving our issues. You don’t like me because I am more of man then you’ll be because I don’t care about anyone who “came before me” I only care about whose getting out of my way so I can get into my rightful spot on top. Bobo’s time is up and if I am only person my enough to step and take him out then so be it.” </p><p>

Before DeGeorge can rebut Armstrong’s disrespect Bobo’s theme begins to come over the PA system and Brad’s expression changes that of almost a scared little boy. Only when a person comes through the curtain it isn’t Bobo Brazil and Brad begins to laugh knowing he got one over on the fans. </p><p>

Armstrong: “You people thought you were actually were actually smarter than me yeah right that’s funny (look at the impersonator of Bobo, Brad tells him) Bobo you want to fight me on the 16 fine you got it I have no problem ending your career as quick as possible. Come Janurary 16th once I beat you I will become the new “legendary face” of the WWA because Bobo Brazil won’t be a problem anymore.” </p><p>

(Brad ends with a sly smirk almost like he has a trick up his sleeve to get one over on Bobo) (D+)</p><p> </p><p>

Brad Armstrong vs Moose Cholak (D)</p><p>

This match is a perfect glimpse of the past vs the present and in a way the type of change that management is trying to bring about in the WWA. As this one gets under way Eddie Creatchman makes his way to ringside to watch the match as he has a vested interested in scouting Cholak for The Sheik. For the most part this was a good back n forth with some decent in ring action from both men, but I would say Cholak showed his veteran experience over the younger Armstrong and it seemed like Cholak had things pretty well set. <strong>That was until Eddie Creatchman made his presence felt by distracting Cholak & the referee from the match and allowing The Sheik to come down and interfere in the match by attacking Cholak. Armstrong takes advantage of the damage done by Sheik and hits the Russian Leg Sweep, and then pretty easily gets the win.</strong> </p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

WWA: Championship Wrestling:

Pre-Show: Paul Christy vs Tom Jones

The show opens with Craig DeGeorge welcoming us to the show and putting over the fact that for the first time in the new era of WWA we are having a show outside the Great Lakes and in the Mid West. DeGeorge also puts over the Main Event as a huge deal for television because it is The Sheik vs Bobo Brazil.

Barry Horowitz vs Moose Cholak (D)

One of the top enhancement talents in the tri-state area is making his debut for me in one of our first shows in the Mid West region. Cholak has been a leader for this company since the beginning of the new era and will remain until he makes way for someone new. This match was mostly all Cholak as Barry showed just how good he is at making someone else look good. Cholak wins with a splash at 7:46.

Following the match the camera pans over to Craig DeGeorge who is standing by and begins:

DeGeorge: “Over the last couple of weeks in my opinion nobody has made bigger impact in the WWA then the arrogant and cocky Brad Armstrong.”

Armstrong: “You think how I act that makes me arrogant; it seems you are mistaking arrogance for confidence. I am not arrogant I am just confident in everything that I can do, because I know I can do anything.”

DeGeorge: “Well that’s opinion, but I wanted to get your thoughts on what happened last week when you blatantly disrespected Bobo Brazil by bringing out an imitation of Bobo instead of confronting the real thing.”

Armstrong: “You think that was disrespect well then whose going to be beat me with the belt, because when me or my brothers do something wrong we get the belt. I just think that everyone needs to figure out I am not being disrespectful I am just saying what everybody else wants to say but is too afraid to say.”

DeGeorge: (Before Craig can ask another question Bobo’s music hits and Bobo makes his way to the ring. Just as he enters the ring Brad leaves the ring so not to be too close to Bobo.) “This is a pleasant surprise, Bobo what are you doing out this is Brad’s time.”

Brazil: “I know I wouldn’t be out here if I didn’t have something to say and so not to hold everyone up, Brad you want to take a big game how about you don’t it in front of my face as opposed to behind my back.”

(Brad renters the ring but keeps yelling “Keep him back” as he renters)

Armstrong: “Bobo you want me to be a “man” about it and tell you to your face how I feel about you well about I show you I feel about you.” (Brad slaps Bobo right in the face and then immediately back off into the corner. Before Bobo can get at Brad security enters the ring to hold them apart and also help Brad get out of the ring without getting hit.)

DeGeorge: “Things have begun to intensify between Bobo Brazil and the Arrogant Newcomer Brad Armstrong, fans I can’t wait for Bobo to get his hands on Brad Armstrong on the 16th of January on our Big Event. Get tickets will you can!! (D+/C-)

Magnum TA vs Igor Zatkoff (D)

Following the commercial this match begins and it is another new talent debuting in the WWA and that is Magnum TA. Two brawlers lock horns in the contest and much like last week’s main event this is a glimpse of the past and the present here in the WWA. A very balanced match which featured a good crowd and decent action; also we saw why Magnum TA is a highly touted young member of the wrestling. Magnum made it seem like he has been doing this for many years when he’s only 23. Magnum gets the win over Igor with the Figure Four Leg Lock at 10:37.

Following the commercial break Kelly Kiniski is in the ring and had this to say:

Kiniski: “Last week my opponent wasn’t much of a challenge and instead of sitting on the sidelines this week I have made the choice to ask for my own opponent tonight. That’s right Canadian Royalty is giving you folks here in Iowa the pleasure of seeing him compete. So if anyone back there is man enough to face me please don’t hesitate to come down and test your luck.” (E+)

“Canadian Royalty” Kelly Kiniski vs Road Warrior Hawk (D)

This match shows two of the newest stars in the WWA and is also a test for Kiniski against one half of the toughest Tag Teams in the all of pro-wrestling. Tonight also Hawk’s first singles match since debuting in WWA, Hawk showed kind of why he is a tag team specialist with the fact that he was visibly holding back in this one; Kiniski seemed like he might have also been holding which didn’t help the match. For the most part Kiniski was getting beaten for most of the match which is why instead of being pinned he left the ring and took the count-out loss instead. Hawk win via count-out at 8:34.

Post Match: Hawk is celebrating in the ring following his victory and the Kelly Brothers take this opportunity to attack. It seems when they first attack that Hawk is going to get the better of them but one of the Kelly’s go with a low blow and all of sudden things changed. Both, Mike and Pat take apart Hawk and enjoy having the two on one then hit an assisted power bomb on Hawk right in the middle of the ring. Kelly Brothers celebrate to a course of boos from the audience as they stand Hawk’s downed body. (D-)

Bobo Brazil vs The Sheik (D)

I would think it’s fair to say these two men having feuding on and off at this point for at least the last 20 years. Both men showed their ages and how time has taken its toll on them in this contest as it wasn’t one of their best matches together. Though it did feature a good crowd with decent at best in-ring action many feel this match reflects why it’s time for WWA to change. This match ends in a draw when the ref losses control of everything because Bobo and Sheik end up brawling on the outside and not responding to the ref. Match ends with both being count-out at 11:39.

Thanks to those who predicted I do appreciate and I hope you enjoy the ride. Also I have chosen for right now to have the contest last for 2 month and that is how it will be unless I lose TV which is possible, because I keep getting ratings warnings. 'Remember you got to be in it to win it'

This was a good back n forth match which saw both competitors get in a good amount of offense during the match. Also we continue to see why Brad has been featured as prominent as he has been because his quality of match doesn’t disappoint. <strong id="">However, the veteran gets the better of Brad and may have finally shut the punk up for at least the time being. 2. probei (3)

3. Russelrules44 (2)

Thanks to those who predicted I do appreciate and I hope you enjoy the ride. Also I have chosen for right now to have the contest last for 2 month and that is how it will be unless I lose TV which is possible, because I keep getting ratings warnings. 'Remember you got to be in it to win it'

I know some of you just watch this, and that's fine. However, I just feel the need to encourage all of you to let me know what could make this dynasty more interesting for you. Because it's already interesting for me, but it needs to be interesting for you to so feel free to let me know.

Feedback & Suggestions are always encouraged and very much welcomed
