My first great recruit

Recommended Posts

I have now coached 5 seasons of a dynasty with Florida, so that means this was the first season that was totally my team, all players recruited by me. We went 9-3, finishing second in the SEC east, losing to rival FSU for the 5th straight year. My senior starting QB couldn't stay off of the injury list and oly attempted 160 passes for the second straight year. All in all it was rather sub-par year. The first player I ever got to sign with me was a 6'5" blue chipper from Georgia named Kato Jacobs. He would start as a true freshman and play in every game of his four year career. He was never on the injured list. He leaves his college career as the NCAA's all time leader in receptions, rec. yards, and rec. TD's. As he catches on to the nuances of the position, he'll consistently run beautiful routes. With more dedication, he can develop the type of speed most receivers only dream of. Sooner or later, the combination of speed and body control will make him a top runner at his position.
