NXT: The Next Big Thing

Recommended Posts

People ask... What is NXT? Here are some answers.

“The greatest thing to happen to wrestling since the attitude era.” –Jeff Trios, Rolling Stone Magazine

“The stars shine bright in NXT.”-Brian Mellwick, Pro Wrestling Insider

“NXT wrestling is the future.”-Hulk Hogan, WWE Legend

NXT has been the brain child of Triple H, and many hard core fans of WWE prefer it to the weekly shows. The growing popularity has seen an agreement form: Vince McMahon gave the complete control to Triple H.

The first thing Triple H did while in control of NXT was take them off the WWE network, and put them on PPV. Triple H created “HHH Productions”, with the sole focus on taking NXT to the global level.

Some other changes Triple H has made:

-NXT will be a 1 hour and 30 minute show each week.

-NXT will be shown on Hulu Plus, and Fox Sports Net. Both carriers have a 12 episode contract right now.

-Full Sail University has added more space. The capacity of the arena is now 1,200.

Game Starting Date: Week 1, March 2015

Starting Champions:

NXT Heavyweight Champion: Kevin Owens

NXT Tag Team Champions: Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy

NXT Woman’s Champion: Sasha Banks

OOC Post: My character is Triple H. The format will be similar to a TNA dynasty I have done. http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524594

MAIN EVENT: Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Finn Balor defeated Kevin Owens in 17:41 by pinfall with a Diving Double Foot Stomp after a distraction from Sami Zayn. RATING: 50

-I was hoping for a higher rating from these two. Maybe the length was a factor. Balor gets a nice win here, and the Sami Zayn interference is to continue the story.

OVERALL SHOW RATING: 49

Confirmed for NXT Wrestling:

- Hideo Itami will go 1 on 1 with Tyler Breeze.

-Samoa Joe and Adrian Neville will be face to face.

NXT MONTH IN REVIEW:

MARCH 2015

In March 2015, NXT held 4 television tapings, and 1 live event. The television tapings all saw sellout crowds of 1,200. The live event saw an attendance of 3,622, which were 162 tickets short of being a sellout.

The top 3 matches in NXT this month were:

1. Bayley vs. Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch (NXT Live: New York, 61)

2. Sami Zayn vs. Alex Shelley (NXT Wrestling, 58)

3. Sami Zayn vs. Rhyno (NXT Live: New York, 56)

Financially, NXT made a profit of $38,731 this month. This is a good number, considering no PPV events were held at this time. Our highest source of income was the TV revenue, with $170,000 before expenditure. We also made $105,952 from ticket sales, before expenditure.

NXT spent $216,381 on talent this month. Our show costs were $36,900. Due to the upcoming PPV event, we believe NXT will make more money in April then March. We can also look at expanding NXT tapings from Full Sail University, in order to host larger crowds and make more on tickets. We can also have more live events.
