WWE Presents Monday Night Raw

Monday Week 1 September 2015

Shut Your Mouth Seth! (B)

After the traditional Monday Night Raw show opening we are treated to the music of the WWE World Heavyweight and WWE United States double champion Seth Rollins as he makes his way down to the ring to address the crowd. Seth talks about how it is not fair that in three weeks’ time at Night of Champions he will be forced to defend both of his championships in one night.

Seth then goes on to talk about how it is also not fair that his statue has been stolen and he should be immortalised for being the greatest wrestler to ever set foot inside of a ring. He then begins to run off a list of previous champions that he is better than including the COO of the company Triple H before he is cut off by the music of one of his challenger John Cena.

The leader of the Cenation then makes his way down to the ring to the usual mixed reception before then standing face to face with Rollins in the ring. The two then go back and forth on the microphone about their match in three weeks until they are cut off by the music of the Authority as Stephanie McMahon comes down to the entrance ramp.

Stephanie talks about how Triple H is away conducting business in Europe in preparation for the NXT tour of England in December including an exclusive NXT Takeover event available on the WWE Network which can be purchased for only $9.99 per month.

She then goes on to talk about how she is sick of Seth running his mouth and he will get the chance at Night of Champions to put his titles where his mouth is and he better be ready as the match with Sting will be No Holds Barred.

Seth is livid in the ring whilst John Cena cannot hide his amusement until Steph announces that he may want to rethink that smile as in tonight’s main event he will go against a man who he is no stranger to and recently pushed him to the limits in three fantastic matches, Kevin Owens.

Match One

Kofi Kingston w/Big E. and Xavier Woods vs. Bubba Ray Dudley w/D-Von Dudley

We come back from the advertisement break to see Kofi Kingston making his entrance along with his New Day stablemates with placards with #SaveTheTables emblazoned on them as already in the ring is Bubba Ray Dudley. We are informed during this match that it has been signed on for Night of Champions that The New Day will defend against The Dudley Boyz in the first WWE Pay per View appearance of the numerous time tag time champions in ten years. The match itself came to an end when Xavier tried to get involved in the contest and D-Von chased him off distracting the referee long enough for Big E. to nail a clothesline on Bubba followed by a Trouble in Paradise by Kofi for the victory.

Winner in 8:06 – Kofi Kingston ©

Coming Up (C+)

We are then shown graphics to promote two huge matches later in the show as Luke Harper and Roman Reigns will go one on one and also after her request last week Charlotte has officially been granted a WWE Diva’s Championship match against Nikki Bella tonight. The announcers then speculate about just how Nikki will come away with the title to go in to next week when she will officially become the longest reigning champion ever in the division.

Match Two

Cosmic Wasteland (Stardust and The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)) vs. Neville and The Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neill and Darren Young)

A solid six man tag team match here building on the ongoing feud between Stardust and Neville with Neville spending a lot of the time in the match playing the face in peril before getting the big tag to Titus as the big man cleaned house. By the end of the match it had descended in to chaos with the referee losing control allowing Stardust to out of nowhere slow some kind of glittering powder in to the eyes of Neville before rolling up the Englishman for the victory. As The Cosmic Wasteland left to the back we went to commercial with Neville trying to regain some vision in the ring.

Winners in 10:11 – Cosmic Wasteland ©

A Score to Settle Next Week (C-)

We then get a short video package on the long term feud between Mr. Money in the Bank Sheamus and Randy Orton before it is announced that next week on Monday Night Raw the two will settle their score once and for all as they will face of inside of a steel cage.

Match Three

WWE Diva’s Championship

Nikki Bella© w/Alicia Fox and Brie Bella defends against Charlotte w/Becky Lynch and Paige

It was now time for possibly the biggest test of Nikki Bella’s reign as champion less than one week away from breaking AJ Lee’s record for holding the title the longest. The match began early as Nikki jumped Charlotte before the bell to gain an upper hand on the challenger but before long the always impressive daughter of Ric Flair had managed to get control of the match and it was looking increasingly like the title was going to change hands. With both of the groups on the outside seeing the turning of the tide Charlotte managed to nail Nikki with the Natural Selection as the crowd went nuts but before she could pin the champion Nikki’s sister Brie managed to pull her out and Team Bella hotfooted up the ramp as the referee counted the champion out.

Winner by Count Out in 10:27 – Charlotte (Nikki Bella retains the title) (D)

Match Four

Luke Harper w/Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns w/Dean Ambrose

After the commercials it was now time for a huge match in the ongoing feud between the former Shield members and the Wyatt Family and it certainly did not disappoint. During the match the announce team put over the big six man tag team match signed for Night of Champions and tried to speculate on just who Reigns could bring in to counter Strowman. The match itself was a hard hitting and even affair which spilled in and out of the ring until it all broke down and descended in to a brawl after Wyatt got involved with the referee losing control and throwing the match out.

Winner in 15:37 – No Contest (Double DQ) (D+)

The Numbers Game ©

After the match was called as a no contest the Wyatt family did not let up as Strowman made Ambrose pass out with his submission hold he has been using which the announcers called Abigail’s Embrace. In the meantime Reigns fell victim to the Sister Abigail from Wyatt as we then went to a commercial with Wyatt kneeling over the two fallen superstars flanked by Strowman and Harper screaming about how he was the New Face of Fear.

Night of Champions $9.99 (B)

We then came back to a commercial that the WWE Network including Night of Champions this months is available for $9.99 before the announcers talked about a few things that you couldn’t even buy for $9.99.

Match Five

The Miz, Big Show and Rusev w/Summer Rae vs. Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro w/Lana

We got our second six man tag team contest of the evening as the announcers plugged the fact that a mixed tag team contest between Dolph/Lana and Rusev/Summer had been signed on for Night of Champions. Another story during the contest was Summer kept deliberately trying to flirt with Dolph and a growing anger could be seen building up within Lana until the two women began brawling on the outside. This then led on to Dolph and Rusev beginning a brawl that took them all the way to the back turning this in to effectively a tag team contest. As has been seen in recent weeks there was a growing tension between Show and Miz which eventually boiled over when Show nailed Miz with the Knockout Punch and left ringside allowing Ryback to hit the Shell Shock for the victory.

Winners in 10:30 – Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro (C-)

I am going to murder John Cena ©

We then go to the backstage area where Seth Rollins walks in to Kevin Owens’ dressing room and starts trying to hype him up for the fight with Cena. The former NXT Champion cuts him off mid-sentence and tells Seth that he is not doing anything for Seth he is going out there tonight to show everyone what type of man Kevin Owens is and he is going out there to “Murder John Cena”.

Match Six

Big E. w/Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods vs. D-Von Dudley w/Bubba Ray Dudley

Following on from the singles match between two team members earlier we go another solid match but this time with a different outcome as all the shenanigans from the New Day were not enough as D-Von managed to pick up the victory pinning Big E. with a Lifting Reverse DDT. After the match was over Kofi and Xavier tried to get the jump on the Dudley Boyz however it ended up in a situation of Woods inside of the ring with two veterans as a helpless Kofi and Big E. watched him suffer a 3D through a table.

Winner in 8:30 – D-Von Dudley (C-)

Match Seven

Sheamus vs. Mark Henry

A short match here that was generally just there for Randy Orton to join the commentary team and trash talk Sheamus before their steel cage match next week. Sheamus picked up the victory with the Brogue Kick with Henry getting in very little offense before the two rivals stared each other down as we headed to commercial.

Winner in 4:34 – Sheamus (C-)

Main Event

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

It was now time for our main event and there were high hopes for this match after the recent encounters in which Owens tested and pushed Cena to the limit only to fall short. There was a lot of aggression from Owens as he was looking to make a real statement including some big Puro style head drop moves on Cena as it looked at times like he was trying to not only beat Cena but put him on the shelf. Cena then began his comeback in true John Cena fashion as he nailed the Five Knuckle Shuffle followed by the Attitude Adjustment but only for a two count. Cena then locked in his patented STF and as Owens struggled it looked like the Canadian superstar was set to tap out until out of nowhere came Seth Rollins stomping away at Cena as the referee called for the DQ.

Winner by DQ in 19:43 – John Cena (B-)

Evening the Odds (B)

Seth Rollins then continued the assault on Cena with a Pedigree before Kevin Owens then joined in and the two men were beating down on the fan favourite until the lights went out and when they came back on we saw Sting with bat in hand as the vigilante cleaned house before helping Cena up to his feet and we went off the air with the two men standing in the centre of the ring.

WWE Smackdown

Thursday Week 1 September 2015

Battle of the Big Men ©

Smackdown opens up with the music of Kevin Owens as he makes his way down to the ring and starts talking about how he is being overlooked as the best wrestler by far in the company when it comes to title opportunities so he is calling out any champion right now if they are man enough to face him inside of the ring.

The music of the WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback then hits as the big man makes his way out to the ramp. Ryback talks about how respect and titles shots are both earned and not just given away. He talks about how at the moment he has neither of those for Owens so tonight Owens will not get a title shot but he will get the champion in a non-title match. Ryback then leads the crowd in a “Feed Me Owens” chant.

Match One

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) vs. Two Local Talents

This was just a squash to put over the members of the Cosmic Wasteland as they decimated the two local talents before finishing them off with the Fall of Man.

Winners in 3:45 – The Ascension (F+)

Diva’s Action Coming up (D)

We then get a graphic promoting the fact that tonight Sasha Banks of Team BAD will take on Becky Lynch of PCB.

Match Two

Bo Dallas vs. Curtis Axel

Bo Dallas continued his recent good run and continued to show his more aggressive streak against the third generation superstar. The match ended when Dallas nailed his new rope hanging whiplash move for the victory.

Winner in 6:14 – Bo Dallas (D+)

A Bella-Bration (D+)

We then cut to the backstage area where Team Bella are stood and Nikki announces that since she is still the WWE Diva’s Champion and is merely days away from becoming the longest reigning one at that, this coming Monday on Raw there will be an in ring celebration to celebrate the Nikki as the greatest diva to have ever graced the WWE.

Just then Charlotte along with Becky Lynch and Paige walks in to the shot and tells Nikki that she may be about to become the longest reigning champion of all time but come Night of Champions in a couple of short week’s time that reign will be over a so will begin a “Reign with Flair”.

Match Three

The Miz vs. Randy Orton

This was a short match that allowed Orton to show how ready he is for the steel cage match with Sheamus as he showed a lot of aggression on The Miz and the must see superstar could not handle it. On commentary we had both Sheamus and Big Show with the latter laughing at the plight of The Miz throughout before the match ended with an RKO from Orton.

Winner in 6:15 – Randy Orton ©

Advantage Sheamus (C+)

As Orton was celebrating his victory on the turnbuckle Sheamus slipped in to the ring and when the Viper turned around he got levelled with a massive Brogue Kick from Mr. Money in the Bank. We then went to commercial with Sheamus stood over a fallen Orton as the announce team speculated on what will happen in the cage this Monday.

Match Four

Sasha Banks w/Tamina Snuka and Naomi vs. Becky Lynch w/Paige and Charlotte

This was another solid match to showcase the quality of divas on the main roster at the moment as both of these who are no stranger to each other after battles in NXT went to war. Surprisingly with the way the division has been going at the moment this turned out to be a clean match with both women having their fair share of control in the match before Sasha went for the Bank Statement only for Becky to roll out and turn it in to the Dis-arm-her leaving Sasha no choice but to tap out.

Winner in 9:56 – Becky Lynch (C-)

Night of Champions Hype (B-)

We then got a video hyping the main event of Night of Champions as Seth Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Sting in a no holds barred contest. The video ended by telling us this is available exclusively on the WWE Network for only $9.99.

Match Five

Charlotte w/Paige and Becky Lynch vs. Alicia Fox w/Nikki and Brie Bella

This was a short match with Charlotte taking out her frustrations for what happened on Monday night on Alicia as Nikki watched on with a somewhat worried expression on her face. Charlotte won the match with the Natural Selection followed by the Figure Eight forcing the tap out. After the match was over as she was celebrating with her PCB teammates Charlotte motioned an imaginary title around her waist towards Nikki Bella ahead of Night of Champions.

Winner in 5:52 – Charlotte (D+)

Match Six

Stardust vs. Jack Swagger

This match was an example of just how far in recent month Swagger has fallen as he got in very little offense on the cosmic one before falling victim to the Queen’s Crossbow. The main story of the match was the announcers talking about how Neville was currently in the hospital still unable to fully see after the attack with the glitter dust on Monday Night Raw.

Winner in 4:55 – Stardust (C-)

This Monday (B)

We then got a promo video that this Monday on Raw John Cena and his United States Title opponent Seth Rollins will pick each other’s poison as both will square off in singles matches against an opponent of the other’s choice.

Match Seven

Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Sin Cara) vs. Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neill)

A solid tag team contest here as both teams are looking to make an impression in their pursuit of the WWE Tag Team Champions the New Day. The match itself was an even match which was settled when Kalisto pinned Young after the Salida Del Sol.

Winners in 6:47 – Lucha Dragons (C-)

Main Event

Non-Title Match

Ryback vs. Kevin Owens

It was then time for the main event of the evening as the WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback took on Kevin Owens in non-title action. The match was a back and forth battle between the two big men with Ryback showing his strength on numerous occasions with suplexes and throws that belied the size of Owens. The crafty Canadian managed to weather the storm in the end however and seemingly out of nowhere as he whipped Ryback to the ropes he connected with Pop-Up Powerbomb to take a big victory and end the show standing tall holding the title aloft over the champion.

Winner in 9:40 – Kevin Owens ©

Weekly News and Notes

The jobber tag team on Smackdown were Chaotic Wrestling regulars Cam Zagami and Mark Shurman. This was seen as a try-out to see whether either men should be offered developmental deals. It is unsure yet as to whether they will be offered those deals although they did impress with their attitude backstage.

After not losing the title this week it is now official that Nikki Bella will be walking in to next week’s TV as the longest reigning champion in the history of the Diva division. There is now word at the moment backstage as to how much longer she will hold it as the company still sees her as one of the staples and due to the popularity of Total Divas she is seen as the epitome of a WWE diva in both popularity and marketability.

In an injury update on Tyson Kidd he had surgery this week which did not go as well as planned on his spinal injury and the estimated time out is now standing at a further 18 months at least.

There has been some new additions to the WWE performance centre this week with the following workers being signed to developmental deals as part of a massive recruitment drive:-

http://i.imgur.com/dFZ1PUl.jpg

Adam Cole (Austin Jenkins) – The graduate of the CZW academy has gone from strength to strength in recent times and had become one of the top stars of Ring of Honor. He will be finishing out his ROH contract and reporting to the WWE Performance Centre in around a month’s time.

http://i.imgur.com/fVvkXSt.jpg

Athena (Adrienne Reese) – Athena is a lady who has long since been on the WWE radar and her hard work on the independent scene is finally going to pay off as she is due to report to the performance centre in the next couple of weeks once she finishes off her commitments in SHIMMER.

http://i.imgur.com/xDf44ym.jpg

Biff Busick (Christopher Girard) – The regular of EVOLVE as well as other promotions on the scene has long since been linked with the WWE and it can now be revealed he will be reporting next month to the performance centre to begin his journey to becoming a WWE superstar.

http://i.imgur.com/nkTPIA6.jpg

Candice LeRae – The rare mix of beauty and wrestling skills of this PWG regular has not gone unnoticed by the WWE it seems and she has been signed to report to the performance centre within the next month once she finishes out her commitments.

http://i.imgur.com/ls5SBs9.jpg

Cedric Rougeau – A third generation member of the Rougeau family this star has a great WWE style look and whilst being a big powerhouse can still do a 450 splash which is impressive to say the least. He will be reporting right away to the performance centre and has the look and the drive to succeed whilst still at the moment rather green in the ring.

http://i.imgur.com/UgbRaOh.jpg

Christina Von Eerie (Christina Maria Kardooni) – Von Eerie is not your typical WWE diva as she has a unique gothic/punk look and has worked all over the world. She will be reporting to the performance centre with many predicting that since Zahra Schreiber has been let go by the company Von Eerie will be chosen for the role of Solomon Crowe’s sister.

http://i.imgur.com/7kpBbDW.jpg

Crazy Mary Dobson (Sarah Bridges) – After starting out life as a death match wrestler like her partner and trainer Madman Pondo many people had written off Dobson’s chances of ever reaching the big time. In recent years she has branched out and worked on her skills becoming one of the best female wrestlers in the United States today which has earned her a spot at the performance centre.

http://i.imgur.com/2H3LS7N.jpg

Jayme Jameson – One of the more surprising names to be mentioned in the list as she is still in need of improvement in the ring. Many feel the WWE has signed her due to her past as a fitness model as she fits the diva mould. There were rumours that WWE was interested in her husband TNA star Gunner however as of this moment there are no plans to sign him.

http://i.imgur.com/TGJtlmF.jpg

Kira (Genevieve Bernier) – Working on the independent scene as “Pink Flash” Kira she has impressed in recent months enough to be offered a chance to work on her skills at the performance centre. It remains to be seen as to whether the super hero style gimmick carries over from the independent scene. She recently attended the try-outs with her boyfriend Buxx Belmar (Guillaume Bellemare) but at the moment it was only her that was signed for now.

http://i.imgur.com/wKJ5QAI.jpg

Rich Swann (Richard Swann) – A long term star on the independent scene he is another who has been tipped to join the WWE for a while and it can now be reported he is off to the performance centre next month.

http://i.imgur.com/l2TIjG1.jpg

Tessa Blanchard – The daughter of wrestling legend Tully Blanchard has for a long time been on the radar of the WWE and it is no surprise that she is a part of the latest group of workers taken in to the performance centre.

There is a packed episode of Monday Night Raw coming up this week as we will see John Cena and Seth Rollins pick each other’s poison as well as Nikki Bella’s title reign celebrations, Sheamus up against Randy Orton in a steel cage to finally settle the score between them and Big Show as a guest on Miz TV.

WWE Presents Monday Night Raw

Monday Week 2 September 2015

Here is Your Poison Seth (B-)

For the second week in a row the show begins with the double champion Seth Rollins making his way down to the ring with something to say. After briefly complaining about his match with Sting being made a no holds barred contest he calls out Triple H to give an explanation on the matter as he knows the COO is back there tonight.

King of Kings then hits and out from the back comes the man himself Triple H as The Game addresses Rollins talking about how Seth calls himself one of the greatest of all time and now with the odds stacked against him he has the chance to show just that and prove what they already know that he is the best.

With that in mind Triple H talks about how tonight is all about picking poison and Seth will open up the show tonight against John Cena’s handpicked opponent who is announced as the Swiss Superstar himself Cesaro as we go to a commercial break.

Match One

Pick Your Poison Match #1

Non-Title Match

Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro

This was a fantastic match to open up a stacked show as these two workers who are no strangers to one another collided. JBL made the point that whilst these two men met on the independent scene and in the WWE in the past Cesaro has never pinned or made Rollins submit. The match itself was a very even match with Rollins being pushed to the absolute limit and having to fight back from all of Cesaro’s signature moves before eventually picking up the victory when Cesaro was attempting to lift him for a Neutralizer but he delivered a low blow out of view of the referee and finished the match with a Pedigree.

Winner in 16:04 – Seth Rollins (B)

Bella-Bration Interrupted (D)

We then came back from a commercial break to see Team Bella making their way down to the ring as Nikki had a huge smile on her face and Michael Cole reminded us she was now the longest reigning Divas champion in history. Inside of the ring there was something underneath a cover and right at the beginning Brie and Alicia pulled away the cover to reveal a big photograph on canvass of Nikki standing over a fallen AJ Lee raising aloft the title.

Nikki talked about how this is a symbol of just how much better than any other diva past or present she really is. She talked about how she triumphed over AJ in the ring and now she has taken away any last shred of memory anyone had of AJ Lee and her title reign.

Brie then pulled a cord which dropped red balloons from the ceiling as Nikki raised aloft the title proclaiming herself the greatest WWE Divas Champion in history and the longest reigning. Nikki was going on to say that nobody will ever take the title from her until she was cut off by the music of Charlotte.

The second generation diva then made her way down to the ring and informed Nikki that in two week’s time at Night of Champions she has been informed by Stephanie McMahon that there will be nowhere to run this time as if Nikki loses by count out or disqualification she will still lose the title.

We then go to a commercial break with Nikki fuming in the ring as her celebration has been ruined and we are informed by Michael Cole that we have diva tag team action up next.

Match Two

Team PCB (Charlotte and Paige) w/Becky Lynch vs. Team Bella (Brie Bella and Alicia Fox) w/Nikki Bella

A short tag team match here with Paige and Charlotte dominating the majority of it, the big story of the match was whenever Charlotte was in the ring each move she was doing she was looking over at Nikki unnerving the champion. The end of the match came when Charlotte just like on Smackdown made Alicia tap out to the Figure Eight.

Winners in 5:26 – Team PCB (D+)

Fighting Blind? (C-)

We come back from commercial to see a video showing us what happened last week when Stardust blinded Neville with some kind of sparkly powder of dust. We then were shown scenes of Neville in the hospital as the doctors were talking about the possibility of the superstar not even getting back his full eyesight.

After this we cut to “special footage” as Michael Cole called it where a camera moved in to a dark room where Neville with some kind of bandages over his eyes unable to see was doing some kicks and punches to wooden boards held up by an unknown Asian man and connecting with everyone one. The Japanese man was then heard saying to Neville that he must learn to “See in Other Ways”.

Match Three

Stardust w/The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) vs. Zack Ryder

A rare appearance on Monday nights for Ryder but it was not to be happy one as he was dominated by Stardust and finished off very early with the Queen’s Crossbow. During the match the announcers talked about the previous vignette on Neville and just what exactly was meant by the see in other ways comment.

Winner in 3:47 – Stardust (C-)

Cage Match to Come ©

We were then treated to a video package outlining the long rivalry between Sheamus and Randy Orton before we were informed that later tonight the two are squaring off in a steel cage.

Match Four

The New Day (Big E., Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) and R-Truth

A solid six man tag team match here as Bubba and D-Von enlisted R-Truth to even up the numbers in their battle against the tag team champions. During the match the commentary team put over the title match the two teams will have at Night of Champions. On this night however it was the New Day that prevailed as the match broke down leaving R-Truth to fall victim to the Big Ending from Big E. for the victory.

Winners in 10:09 – The New Day ©

A Demon is Coming (D)

We come back from commercial to a video package consisting of flames whilst a narrator talks about how someone has “Tried to keep the demon inside” and “will not be responsible for what happens when he shows up”. The flames then rise high with words in the smoke that say “Coming Soon”

Hot Summer for Ziggler? (C+)

We are then treated to the introduction to the ring of Dolph Ziggler alongside the lovely Lana as the two are here to talk about the match coming up at Night of Champions. The two enter the ring with Lana looking standoffish to Dolph based on the recent allegations of something going on between himself and Summer Rae.

Dolph speak sat length refuting those claims and talking about how ever since Lana came in to his life he has felt like he does not ever need any other women as she is perfect for him in every way. A smile then comes over the Ravishing Russian’s face but it is short lived as the music of their opponents hit and out from the back come Rusev and Summer Rae.

As they enter the ring standing the opposite side to Dolph and Lane, Summer talks about how she and Rusev has always been a business arrangement but there is true love in the ring, the love that is shared between herself and Dolph. This statement angers Lane and she moves toward Summer only to be told to hold on as Summer has evidence as she points everyone to the screen.

Up on the titantron we see from behind someone that resembles Dolph Ziggler (A body double) knocking on Summer’s door before Summer Rae opens it wearing only a towel and the two embrace before slipping in to the room and the door shutting.

A furious Lana then begins to cry and storms out of the ring as Dolph goes to chase after her and explain things but is cut off by a massive kick to the head from Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute then locks in the Accolade and whilst Dolph is helpless Summer kneels down in front of him and plants a kiss on Ziggler’s lips just before he passes out.

Rusev releases the hold and stands tall over Ziggler alongside Summer Rae as the segment comes to an end.

The Viper is Ready (B-)

We then go to Renee Young who is in the back with Randy Orton. The Viper talks about how the last time they met Sheamus managed to pick up the victory but in life it is not about battles it is about the war. Orton talks about how tonight he ends the war and makes Sheamus suffer inside the steel cage. As Orton walks away we are informed by Renee that the steel cage match is up next.

Match Five

Steel Cage Grudge Match

Sheamus vs. Randy Orton

The atmosphere was electric for this one as the two men stepped in to the cage and began feeling each other out with neither wanting to make a mistake. We are informed on commentary that this is an old school rules cage match and the only way to win is by escaping the cage by climbing over or going through the door. The two men go toe to toe for a long period with neither gaining much of an advantage until out of nowhere Sheamus nails Randy with the White Noise before setting up for a Brogue Kick. As the Irishman runs at Orton he slips out of the way and lands an RKO out of nowhere which leaves both men down as Orton is exhausted.

Orton makes his way to his feet and begins to climb the cage but as he nears the top Sheamus manages to catch him and delivers a massive back suplex from the top of the cage. Mr. Money in the bank then sensing victory starts crawling to the door but out of nowhere Orton manages to get to his feet and run at the crawling Sheamus delivering a hellacious punt to the head knocking him clean out. Orton then leaves by crawling with every ounce of strength left through the open door to win the match and the feud.

Winner in 19:31 – Randy Orton (B)

Orton needs to Bo-Lieve ©

With Sheamus laid out in the ring not moving the announce team put over what a massive victory we have just seen from Orton as he is making his way up the ramp. From out of nowhere however Bo Dallas runs down and nails Orton blindsiding him and beating down on the former World Champion. Dallas then props Orton up on the guard rail and delivers his new whiplash style move on the concrete before shouting Bo-Lieve in Orton’s face and leaving.

The announcers talk about how we need medical attention out there and Orton’s neck may be broken as we go in to commercial.

MizTV with Big Show (C-)

When we come back the cage had been raised and we were shown some footage of Orton from during the break being loaded in to an ambulance on a gurney as inside of the ring the stage was set for MizTV as the most must see superstar made his way down to the ring.

After talking about how it was such an honour a privilege for the people in attendance to see such a big movie star he introduces his guest Big Show as the massive giant makes his way down to the ring.

Miz talks about how in recent times he and Show have not been getting along however they used to be friends and as a friend of the big man he is telling him to do the right thing, do what all of these fans want and retire.

Miz goes on to say that he knows why Big Show has taken issue with him lately and it is because Show will never be a movie star like Miz and he will never be sought after by millions of people and recognised when he walks down the street, he will always just be a failure who has overstayed his welcome.

Big Show then takes the microphone and goes to speak but changes his mind, instead he just delivers a knockout punch to Miz and leaves shouting “I will retire when I want”.

Match Six

Non-Title Match

Ryback vs. King Barrett

A short match here that allowed Kevin Owens to join commentary and rip in to Ryback throughout the whole match as the announcers talked about it just being announced that Owens will get a shot at Ryback’s title at Night of Champions. Ryback finishes Barrett with the Shell Shock whilst never taking his eyes of Owens as the referee counts the three.

Winner in 5:32 – Ryback ©

Match Seven

Bray Wyatt w/Luke Harper and Braun Strowman vs. Sin Cara w/Kalisto

A short match here as Sin Cara did not manage to get in a great deal of offensive moves as the announcers talked about how focused and dangerous Wyatt was looking these days and speculating on who could stop the devastating Wyatt Family. Bray finished off Sin Cara with the Sister Abigail.

Winner in 6:01 – Bray Wyatt (B-)

Our Partner Is? (C+)

After the match as the Wyatt Family were celebrating in the ring over their fallen victims we saw Reigns and Ambrose come on the big screen talking about the match upcoming at Night of Champions. They talked about how Strowman was a massive man and they know the man they need to even the odds, the biggest of them all, the coolest of them all and come Night of Champions Sister Abigail better have the bandages ready because the Wyatt Family are going to need patching up once Reigns, Ambrose and the mystery partner are done with them.

Main Event

Pick Your Poison Match #2

John Cena vs. Rusev w/Summer Rae

We then after the commercial break were treated to John Cena coming down to the ring with it still unknown just who his opponent would be. As he waited in the ring the familiar music of Rusev hit and fresh from destroying Dolph Ziggler earlier tonight the big Bulgarian made his way down to the ring for our main event. The match itself was typical of Cena vs. Rusev matches we have seen so many times in the past with Rusev using his power advantage before Cena made a remarkable comeback and started delivering all of his signature moves.

Midway through the match out from the back came Lana to attack Summer Rae causing the latter to flee and ensuring Rusev took his eye off the prize for a second which proved to be his downfall as an Attitude Adjustment later and John’s hand was being raise in victory. The show then closed out with the music of Rollins playing as the double champion came to the ramp and stared down Cena whilst holding on to his two titles as we went off the air.

Winner in 14:53 - John Cena (B)

WWE Presents Thursday Night Smackdown

Thursday Week 2 September 2015

Match One

Fandango vs. Sheamus

We open up Smackdown this week in a very rare way with an actual match rather than a promo segment. This was not a long match as it was just a way to get Sheamus back some momentum following his steel cage loss to Randy Orton. The announce team talk about how there are still no updates on Orton and he is still in the hospital during the match before Sheamus picks up the victory with the Brogue Kick.

Winner in 5:20 – Sheamus ©

The Title Will Soon Belong to Me ©

We are then treated to a backstage promo as Kevin Owens is talking to Renee Young. The former NXT Champion talks about how he came to the main roster and destroyed John Cena, destroyed Cesaro and now he will destroy Ryback and take the Intercontinental Title at Night of Champions.

Owens goes on to say that he does not do these things because he hates his opponents or because he has any malice towards them, he does this just because he can. Owens finishes by saying that Ryback is always shouting “Feed Me More” but once Night of Champions is over he will be eating through a tube and Kevin Owens will be taking the title back to Quebec.

The segments then closes with Renee announcing that Kevin will be in action after the commercial break.

Match Two

Kevin Owens vs. Jack Swagger

A short match here with Owens looking even more brutal then before as he absolutely destroyed Swagger from start to finish as the commentary team talked about how they didn’t think he could dominate so well against Ryback in ten day’s time. The finish came when Owens landed the Pop-Up Powerbomb for the victory. After the three count he was clearly not done and delivered another one proclaiming “This is for you Big Guy”.

Winner in 6:39 – Kevin Owens (C+)

Still to Come (B-)

We then got a graphic to show us that later on tonight in our main event Bray Wyatt will take on Cesaro in what promises to be a fantastic contest between the two.

A Demon is Coming (D-)

We come back from commercial to the video package we saw earlier this week consisting of flames whilst a narrator talks about how someone has “Tried to keep the demon inside” and “will not be responsible for what happens when he shows up”. The flames then rise high with words in the smoke that say “Coming Soon”.

Match Three

Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) w/El Torito vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) w/Stardust

A solid tag team contest here between two sides looking to pick up a little momentum in eventually going all the way to challenging for the tag team titles. Stardust was being his usual weird self on the outside until out of nowhere El Torito delivered a diving huracanrana taking him out. This did not help the plight of the bullfighters however as Diego was pinned after falling victim to the Fall of Man as Konnor and Viktor continued their impressive recent wins.

Winners in 9:07 – The Ascension (D+)

Will We See a New Champion? (B-)

We then cut to a commercial for Night of Champions that focuses on the main event no holds barred match between Sting and Seth Rollins. The history between the two is dramatically narrated before we are informed that this is exclusive to the WWE Network for the low monthly cost of $9.99.

Match Four

Dean Ambrose w/Roman Reigns vs. Adam Rose

A short match here as the Lunatic Fringe made short work of Rose before finishing him off Dirty Deeds. The match was an opportunity for the announce team to speculate just who the third man is on their team against the Wyatt Family.

Winner in 4:47 – Dean Ambrose (C-)

Contract Signing on Raw (B)

We get a promo hyping the fact that this coming week on the final Monday Night Raw before Night of Champions we will see the official contract signing for the WWE United States Title match between Seth Rollins and John Cena, presided over by Triple H.

Orton Should Bo-Lieve (D-)

We then got a recap video of what happened on Monday Night Raw when Bo Dallas put Randy Orton on the shelf. The announce team then talked about a tweet that Bo Dallas put out this week saying that Orton will not Bo-Lieve in the capabilities of Bo Dallas. We were then informed that Dallas would be speaking on Monday Night Raw to hopefully explain his actions.

Match Five

Paige w/Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs. Naomi w/Sasha Banks and Tamina Snuka

Divas action here as both of the two ladies gave it their all in a solid and hard hitting contest with both of the respective teams at ringside effectively neutralising the other. There did have to be a winner in the end and it was an upset of sorts in the end as out of nowhere Naomi ducked a clothesline from Paige and nailed the Rear View for the big win.

Winner in 6:10 – Naomi (D+)

Match Six

Non-Title Match

The New Day (Big E. and Kofi Kingston) w/Xavier Woods vs. Damien Sandow and Curtis Axel

A solid tag team contest here although since the dropping of the Meta Powers angle Sandow and Axel are somewhat treading water at the moment and there was only really one outcome that was ever going to come of the match as Trouble in Paradise was enough to pin Axel.

Winners in 7:25 – The New Day ©

Get the Tables (D+)

After the match The New Day were not done and Big E. lifted up Axel for the Big End leading to the Dudley Boyz coming out to make the save. The veterans got the advantage and brought a table in to play but the numbers game caught up on them and it was D-Von that ended up being put through a table with a big powerbomb from Big E.

Main Event

Cesaro vs. Bray Wyatt w/Luke Harper and Braun Strowman

A fantastic match to end the show as two of the top stars in the company right now squared off in a hard hitting encounter with lots of near falls. The early stages of the match were dominated by Wyatt before Cesaro began to get more of a foothold in the match to the pleasure of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose who had joined the commentary team for this one. Wyatt however had other ideas and after soaking up some offense from the Swiss Superman he managed to still pick up the big victory with the Sister Abigail. After the match Strowman and Harper came in and they hurled Cesaro out of the ring before turning attentions to Reigns and Ambrose. The two former Shield members learned from their past mistakes and did not charge the ring at a disadvantage and instead the show went off the air with Reigns and Ambrose looking on from the outside as Bray kneeled in front of his two fellow Wyatt Family members and proclaimed “Follow the Buzzards”.

Winner in 17:09 – Bray Wyatt (C+)

Weekly News and Notes

There were vignettes for the coming of a demon on both Raw and Smackdown this week with many speculating this could be the return of Kane in his masked form as filming has wrapped up on the WWE Studios film he has been taking part in.

Speaking of movies the reason Randy Orton was written off television this week is that he will be a part of the filming for a Christmas film set to come out this holiday season from WWE Studios. The story is an adaptation of A Christmas Carol with Orton set to play the lead role.

WWE writers have been high on Bo Dallas and looking for a way to give him a big break and many feel this is a great opportunity being thrown in to an eventual feud with Randy Orton although some are sceptical that Dallas can handle it.

After recent times seeing fans getting on the Big Show’s back telling him to retire the writers have decided to take that ball and run with it. As Show leans more and more to a face turn it is hoped the angle can evoke sympathy from sections of the fans.

There was an interesting vignette involving Neville this week with WWE seemingly looking to capitalise on the popularity of the Marvel television series Daredevil with Neville learning to fight whilst being unable or partially able to see. It remains to be seen what sort of turn his feud with Stardust will take but Neville is popular with the fans so the company feels he can do no wrong.

Some less than good news is that after the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday WWE released a statement on their website that due to testing positive for a banned substance Jack Swagger will now be serving a 28 day suspension from the company.

This week will see the go home Raw and Smackdown for Night of Champions with Monday looking stacked as there will be the contract signing between Seth Rollins and John Cena, Bo Dallas will speak on why he did what he did to Randy Orton and Sting will also be in the house as the company rolls towards Night of Champions.
