TNA - Over Time

Recommended Posts

It was October 1st 2005 when Sam walked into the TNA headquarters for his first official day as the head booker of TNA Wrestling. He had been a fan of TNA although if truth be told he had tended to lean more towards WWE than TNA and ROH but that didn’t mean he hadn’t spotted the obvious flaws with the product WWE served. He had to however also spotted the flaws that TNA presented to its faithful fan base and he knew it would not be easy but his job was to make TNA the best….EVER, period. October 1st may have been his first day but Sam had known that he would be the new head booker for a while now so he had already took a pretty extensive look at the roster and had decided the few that would go, and had a couple of names lined up as potential signings. He knew he could not get rid of Jeff Jarret as he was the NWA World Champ and had creative control not to mention a lifetime contract so he was pretty much screwed in that area but everywhere else he could do what he pleased. The roster was filled with many a talent who was under used but with only two one hour shows per week it was understandable. He would also be bringing a third singles title with him but the name and purpose were yet to be decided and would be discussed with his booking team. Sam wanted the focus of TNA to be on ability with the likes of AJ and Christopher Daniels amongst others he knew he had that covered. However he knew he would have to get at least 2 more big names in but he didn’t want any big names he wanted them in their prime and not passed their wrestling days. Starting Roster – (F) = Considered for Firing NWA World Heavyweight Champion – Jeff Jarrett NWA World Tag Team Champions – America’s Most Wanted TNA X-Division Champion – AJ Styles Main Jushin Thunder Lyger BG James (F) Kip James (F) Brother Bubba Brother Devon Shane Douglas (F) Raven Christian Cage Jeff Jarrett Konnan (F) Upper Palaco (F) Christopher Daniels Sean Waltman (F) Chris Harris Jerry Lynn Simon Diamond Monty Brown AJ Styles Ron Killings Apolo (F) Elix Skipper (F) James Storm Jeff Hardy Gail Kim (F) Rhino Mid Matt Bentley Austin Aries Chris Sabin Shocker Shark Boy (F) Abyss Sonny Siaki (F) Petey Williams Bobby Roode Samoa Joe Lower Lance Hoyt (F) Sonjay Dutt (F) Andy Douglas David Young (F) Chase Stevens Alex Shelley Traci Opener Roderick Strong Jerrelle Clark (F) Eric Young Johnny Devine Cassidey Riley Enhancement Lex Lovett (F) Mikey Batts (F) A-1 (F) Pay Per Views TNA Final Resolution – Week 3, January TNA Against All Odds – Week 3, February TNA Destination X – Week 3, March TNA Lockdown – Week 3, April TNA Royal Rumble – Week 3, May TNA Slammiversary – Week 3, June TNA Wrestle-Extravaganza – Week 3, July TNA Sacrifice – Week 3, August TNA Unbreakable – Week 3, September TNA Bound for Glory – Week 3, October TNA Genesis – Week 3, November TNA Turning Point – Week 3, December October 2nd and Sam had been given his first set of goals by Dixie Carter, he had 671 days to achieve both the first was to be more popular in TNA’s home area whilst the second was to not be in debt in 671 days time. Just like Sam himself WWE had gone on a sacking spree the previous day but Sam was more than worried by what he found, amongst the names released by WWE was Gold Medallist Kurt Angle. Sam had contacted four people with possibilities of joining TNA the previous day and after seeing Kurt leave WWE he acted fast. Brock Lesnar, Shannon Moore, Bill Goldberg and Peter Gruner (Billy Kidman) had not answered back yet but he had high hopes for all 4 but he was suspicious as to why WWE had sacked Kurt but contacted him none the less. Sam had fired 14 people in all they were A-1, Cassidy Riley, David Young, Gail Kim, Jerrelle Clark, Kevin Nash, Lance Hoyt, Larry Zbyszko, PJ Polaco, Sean Waltman, Shane Douglas, Shark Boy, Terry Taylor and Traci. He had announced 3 matches per show for the Impact and Xplosion tapings the following night, there was mild interests for TNA Impact there was Jushin Lyger vs. AJ Styles (X-Div Title) B -, Monty Brown vs. Apolo C +, Rhino vs. Jeff Jarret (Non Title) C -. TNA Xplosion didn’t generate much in the way of intrest either Petey Williams vs. Austin Aries C-, Christian Cage vs. Abyss (No. 1 Contender match) C, Samoa Joe vs. Raven C +.

I am keeping Siaki i was 50/50 on him and he kept a spot, i still can't believe WWE fired Kurt on first day. TNA Xplosion was to be shot on Tuesday’s as normal but Sam had arranged for TNA Impact’s to be shot on Wednesdays now so he could keep up with witch show aired first. With Xplosion coming up he had decided on 2 storylines so far, one was a winning streak for Rhino starting when he beat Jarret for the title and the other was to be a best of 7 series between AJ and Lyger. Xplosion (NOTE) : TNA has still got the six sided ring although whether it will stay is still being discussed. (NOTE 2) : The matches will be written by me but it will only contain highlights not the whole match. Pre Show - Sonny Siaki defeated Bobby Roode in 8:45 by pinfall with a Siakalypse Now. Rating = C Seg 1 –Xplosion starts with Jerry Lynn announcing he will be the stand in authority figure for the night, after TNA finally wised up to Larry Zbyszko’s antics and fired him indefinitely. Lynn says he has made 3 matches for tonight with the main event being Christian taking on the monster Abyss. Rhino bursts into Jerry Lynn’s office and demands to face Jeff Jarrett for his title... Jerry Lynn agrees but says it will take place on the next edition of Impact. Rating = B+ Seg 2 - Petey Williams vs. Austin Aries. Petey is not accompanied by any of team Canada, who stayed intact despite the clean out. Petey starts the match on the offensive when he hits a bone crushing knee to the gut after the two men trade blows. Petey hits 2 suplex’s followed by a falling elbow drop to the chest. Petey goes to pull Aries up by his hair only to be meet with a snap DDT out of no where as Aries gets to his feet. Aries is in control of the match for a while hitting a superplex off the top rope for a two count. After some more Aries offense Petey ducks a clothesline and tries to hit a reverse DDT but Austin fights free and William’s is hit with a dropsault to the jaw. Aries continues to wear William’s down and hits a spinning neck breaker and a hurricirana which leaves Petey hanging upside down in the corner. He lifts a lifeless Petey up but is caught with a elbow to the jaw and Petey hits the Canadian Destroyer. Petey Williams defeated Austin Aries in 5:53 by pinfall. Rating = C+ Seg 3 - Brother Devon Deadly and Chris Harris are in the ring, and are squaring off, unhappy about something. The argument soon turns physical, and they are joined by Brother Ray Deadly and James Storm for a wild brawl, with the chaos spilling out all around ringside. Eventually a number of officials and other wrestlers have to hit the ring and pull them apart before they kill each other. Rating = B- Seg 4 – Raven offers his hand to Samoa but he just stares his cold stare right into the eyes of Raven who mutters something as he withdraws his hand and the bell rings. Raven goes for the lock up but Samoa Joe doesn’t move a muscle and just continues to stare. Raven goes to lock up a second time but Joe hits a kick to Raven’s right knee taking him down to his knee’s. Joe unleashes a flurry of kicks to the back of Raven before a final devastating strike to the back of the head. Raven catches the bottom rope to stop himself falling onto the mat. Samoa hits a knee to the back of the neck of Raven sending him through the ropes and landing hard on the outside. Samoa then hits Raven with stiff kicks and other stiff moves affecting the back/neck of Raven around the outside of the ring until Raven manages to roll in and escape. Samoa climbs in and Raven hits a elbow to the top of the head but Samoa carry’s on just like normal and goes for a kick to the head but Raven ducks only for Samoa Joe to hit a leg sweep knocking Raven down. Samoa remains of the offensive getting many close calls but is unable to finish Raven off. Joe has Raven down and grabs him by the hair, Raven catches Joe off guard with a quick eye poke and then pulls him back so he lands back first on his knee. Raven uses this time to rest and slumps in the corner whilst Joe grimaces in pain. Joe gets to his feet quick and Raven pulls himself up in the corner Soe hits a knee to the face in the corner before lifting him up onto the top rope and hitting Island Driver before locking in the Triangle Choke, Raven lasts about 27 seconds before tapping. Samoa Joe defeated Raven in 8:57 by submission with a Triangle Choke. Rating = A Seg 5 - Christian Cage cuts a promo saying that despite the fact Rhino has a title match on Impact he also has a title match against Jeff Jarrett at TNA Bound for Glory so he is at a loss as to why Lynn granted Rhino a title match, stating that it was simply pointless. He goes on to say he will stream roll through Abyss and go to the PPV and win the NWA Heavyweight Title regardless…..because that’s how he rolls. Rating = A Seg 6 - Raven is shown backstage smashing up the first things he finds. He picks up a dustbin and throws it a nearby group of backstage workers who run for their life. Raven carry’s on destroying things down the hall asking him self how he lost to Samoa Joe. Rating = A Seg 7 – Cage starts off by ducking and diving making sure to avoid Abyss as he try’s to use his power advantage. Christian ducks a clothesline and meets Abyss with a kick to the gut as he turns followed by an Implant DDT but only gets a one. Cage waits for Abyss to get to his feet and hits him with a elbow to the jaw followed up by a jumping clubbing blow to the back. Abyss goes down onto one knee and Cage hits a shining wizard for the one. Christian uses his quickness to stay on top hitting quick moves followed up by quick covers but only getting one counts. Abyss avoids a clothesline attempt and meets Cage with a big boot that hits HARD and leaves Cage lifeless on the mat. He covers but only gets a two count, he scoops Cage up and chucks him over the top rope and he lands chest first on the metal barricades. Abyss is quick to go to the outside and drags Cage back in and throws him off the ropes and goes for a Black Hole Slam but is hit with a float over DDT. Both men take their time to get up but Cage is the first up but his attempt at a neck breaker is powered out and Abyss misses a second big boot. Cage ducks a grab attempt and hits Abyss with a shoulder block as he turns round but this fails so he try’s again but is hit with a Black Hole slam getting a VERY close two count. The match has gone over the ten minute mark and Abyss is in complete control and hits Cage with a power slam and drags Cage back up but is meet with a fist to the gut. Cage then hits a swinging neck breaker that’s leaves Abyss down he picks Abyss up and sets up for a Unprettier when he sees Monty running down the ramp and releases the hold. Monty ducks a punch attempt and bounces off the ropes and goes for a pounce but Cage falls onto the mat and Monty connects with Abyss. Cage hits a inverted DDT before covering Abyss for the win. Christian Cage defeated Abyss in 12:44 after Monty hit Abyss with the pounce. Rating = A Seg 8– Abyss is left in the ring as Christian Cage leaves glaring at both men. Monty realises his mistake and see’s that Abyss is none to pleased. He apologies before going to leave the ring but swerves bounces back and hits Abyss with the second pounce as Xplosion goes off the air. Rating = C+ OVERALL = B – General feeling there should be more storylines. Att – 4836 at The Mark of the Quad Cities
