The firing of Seven Brandt is a shock to me, but I hope it's only "kayfabe". If not, I hope a guy like Chad Zuma take his spot in your roster.</p><p> </p><p>

Concerning your product change, I would say it's a very good move when you have a diary in mind, since Evolve's preset-product is really uninspiring. </p><p>

I'm not a fan of booking companies where wrestlers are rated way more on pop than perf. Plus, I think that kind of companies are at large disadvantage in the T-Verse.</p><p>

Equality between pop. and perf. is a good compromise in a diary.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm glad for predicting all of 5 fights right. I guess it's because i'm used to roughly 80% of your roster and I would "book" them almost the same way.</p>

It was two hours after the show that we got bad news from Bobby in our office, the Theatre now empty with New England Nightmare in the books.

 

Bobby: Bad news. Doc says that Kris is going to be out of action for at least three months, possibly more due to a grade III hamstring tear.

 

I closed my eyes. I was afraid of this the moment I saw Bobby come into the back with a swearing Kris Phoenix in his arms. With an injury like that he would barely be able to walk, let alone wrestle or show up to work for promos, he'd need crutches for God's sake!

 

Erin: What do we do?! He just became champion less than a month ago! We can't have our Prime Champion not show up for that long!

 

Ebony: We're going to have to vacate the title. I just hope it doesn't ruin our momentum, we've put so much of our plans into Kris and the Prime Championship...

 

I couldn't help but think the worst. Kris makes one defense, gets injured, and we're left with a vacant championship once again. I had no doubt that other promotions would take advantage of this news as soon as possible. With our top guy out, they'd do everything to push and show them off their own, talking about how all we had were literal "paper champions".

 

Bobby: Hey now, chin up both of you. I have a way we could fix this. I've been in negotiations with some men over the last month, and I'm sure tonight's show will have their interest becoming agreements. With them on board I'm sure we can fill in the hole left by Kris and the vacancy of the Prime Championship, it's just going to take some heavy planning if we want this to go off right with our fans.

 

Erin: Who are we working with here Bobby?

 

With a smile the veteran pulled out a few photos from the inside of his suit, laying them out one by one in front of us. With each one my gaze passed over I felt my eyes widening bit by bit, these were more than just normal signings.

 

Ebony: Bobby...if we use these guys you know what might happen because of it right?

 

Erin: What do you mean Ebony?

 

Bobby: She means that we might make a lot of people pretty angry, and from what we know of these people, they weren't happy with us to begin with.

 

Erin: It's kinda pointless to worry about that then. Sooner or later things are going to blow, at least with this we can call the what and how.

 

I had to admit, Erin had a point. One of the five promotions we were against would come knocking on our door with a complaint, whether we intended them to or not. At least this way we had a plan and knew who we'd piss off right off the bat. I just hope we could prepare enough so we didn't regret this later.

This match was in purely Lothario's hand, as his mat skills kept the High Flyin Hillbilly down, preventing the bulk of his offense. But credit to Earl for not giving in as he took every bit of damage possible, unwilling to say die to his opponent. It took a second, and final Lothario Death Lock in the middle of the ring to stop the drive of Earl and make him submit, after a sneaky lowblow from the "Natural" left him wide open.

I put on this mask because while lucha libre may not be in my blood, it is damn well in my heart! So bring out your partner and we'll show you how deep the love of lucha runs in our veins!

 

With a nod and a small shuffle of his head Calaca seems to agree with his partner, only for Eagle to suffer a shot from behind! With Calaca distracted Ardor takes a shot of his own, leaving both men on the mat at the start of the match, above them stands Ardor and his partner, El Icono!

The dirty start definitely took its toll on Eagle and Calaca, as they were at the mercy of El Ardor and El Icono for a good piece of the match. However their shared underestimation of their opponents cost them heavily, as Calaca and Eagle soon caught up, using surprise counters to their advantage. With their speed being put to good use, the end also followed as a surprise, as a roll up onto El Icono from Eagle gave the unusual duo the victory over Cortes' men!

GP: That did not just happen! That was a fluke! El Icono is a seasoned veteran, he couldn't have gotten caught by a rookie like Eagle!

Tonight American Eagle got himself a good addition to his resume, and you can bet Calaca will be dancing his way to the locker room after beating his losing streak after so long!

Christoph: Good evening ladies and soon to be ex-boyfriends! There's not need to fear about good entertainment, because Erin Cristoph is here to keep your eyes focused! Unfortunately my announcement isn't really about me, but more about EVOLVE Pro Wrestling as a whole. First off, during last month's amazing main event EVOLVE Prime Champion Kris Phoneix suffered a pretty bad injury, and due to it he will be out of action for the next few months. As a result, Kris has been stripped of the Prime Championship! Furthermo-

 

Christoph looks at his door in surprise as an obviously angry Richie Santana Jr. enters the office.

Santana: Furthermore, I want to hear news on what you are going to do about Serenity's kidnapping Mr. Owner. Over the last month I've searched all over for her or any sign of the monster that took her, and I have yet to hear from you about any support!

 

Christoph: Look Santana, your girlfriend's situation is your fault, not mine! But since you're itching to do some monster hunting, you'll get a shot at it tonight, against Hollywood Giant! Win this and maybe I'll decide to get you a match with the freak that took Serenity, because quite frankly, you've failed enough big matches in EVOLVE. Now if you excuse me, get the hell out of my office, because now I have to do this announcement later tonight thanks to your interruption!

 

After a tense staredown Richie nods and backs out the office, leaving an exasperated Christoph who remembers that he's still on camera and rushes to turn it off.

GP: We'll have to wait and see our boys gunning for the Prime Championship, but we still have a title chase going on tonight as four men give it their all to become the number one contender to Super TIGER's X-Division title!

Four of the hottest names in EVOLVE Pro Wrestling's X-Division met in the perfect showcase of what the division is all about, proving that any one of these men could be a viable contender. However it was Corvis Jones who gave just a little bit more, as a Corvis Clash on Sébastien Lejosne gave him one more chance at Super TIGER and the X-Division Championship.

BV: Jones and TIGER have a lot of history together, after all TIGER pinned Jones back in August to win that X-Division title, you gotta wonder, is there any bad blood left over from that?

 

GP: I wouldn't be surprised if there was, Corvis won the very first match in EVOLVE history, could you imagine the name he would've made for himself if he won the X-Division Championship too? There's a desire for redemption behind those eyes, and I can't wait to see what he does with it.

The scene switches to a hallway backstage, as Richie Santana Jr. makes his way down to the ring to take on Hollywood Giant. His silent walk is interrupted by flustered Hannah Gold, trying to regain her composure as she stops in front of him.

 

Gold: Richie! Richie! I'm sorry, and I know you're heading off to your match, but I need to ask, what was that between you and Mr. Cristoph?

 

Santana: Hannah that was me making a statement. I may be named after my father but I am more than Golden Boy No. 2. I have the spirit of a roaring dragon in my soul, guided by the inner fire and passion inherited from my father. If Serenity's kidnapper wants to haunt me fine, but he took things to another level, so I'll end things at a level of my own.

Spirit of a roaring dragon indeed, Richie showed a new focus in this match as he cut the big man down to size at the start, going right after the legs of Hollywood. The crowd and Giant can hardly believe the showing of Richie tonight as he not only brings the Giant to his knees, but he actually brings him down to the mat over time. However Richie's luck soon comes into play as the lights go off in the middle of a Flying Crossbody attempt.

Yet even with his throat in the gloved grip once again Richie did not stop as he escaped with a quick arm drag, sending the red specter flying! With the bell ringing both men immediately go after each other, Referee Jacob Loeb calling for the DQ and security! But as the bell rings the lights go out once more, only to come back with an eerie red glow, Richie alone in the ring. His confusion quickly turns to anger as he sees that the man escaped him, and still no sign of Serenity, that is until he sees the screen, his enemy staring right at him. With a tilt of his head, the masked man walks towards the camera, only to whisper three words before everything shuts off once more before returning back to normal.

 

???: You are ready.

 

Winner: Richie Santana Jr. by DQ at 10:33

GP: He even speaks creepily. And here I thought he couldn't get any worse...

 

BV: I don't know why he's been targeting Richie, but I'm damn sure glad we don't have to see anyone else hurt by that monster's actions!

 

GP: This was just one time though Bobby, for all we know this could've been the only luck Richie will have against that weirdo.

 

BV: With heart like that? I fully doubt it. But we have to move on now as we are joined by Donny Chic whose here to announce his opponent choice for Dwaine Kai! So tell us Donny, whose your Poison?

 

DC: Well V, I gotta choose a man who I've styled and won gold with time and time again, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. K! C! SUMMER!

Dwaine has his hands full with KC Summer, because while the man was as much of a dancing fool as his partner, he had a different style of flying in his arsenal. Yet time and time again, Summer just couldn't keep "Mr. Hawaii" from shutting down any attempts at momentum building, his bigger frame being put to good use against KC's. It all led to a victory for Kai after a failed dive from KC led to a perfectly landed leg drop that Kai refers to as, "The People's Leg Drop".

DC: Chill Plated, sometimes grooves just get thrown off, but credit to Kai, he certainly gave one hell of a fight to KC.

Kai: You see that Donny? That is the exact ass-whopping you are gonna feel next month, because at End of the Line, in that steel cage, you're going to feel multiple ends! First, it's gonna be the end of Kai's arm with his fist in your face! Second, it's gonna be the end of Kai's foot as he breaks it off in your ass! And third, it's gonna be the end of clippers as I shave that afro, and turn it into the world's ugliest Christmas sweater just in time for the annual Kai family dinner!

 

But that's all next month, I want to talk about right now! I chose more than just a poison Chic, I chose a toxicity that's been burning you up for months! Ladies and gentlemen, the man Donny hasn't, can't and never will beat, DRAGON Pro Wrestling's Golden Dragon Champion, Ryotaro Naruto!

If there was ever a time for that "Big Match" feeling to be around, it was certainly this one. A one on one match only dreamed of by DRAGON fans, now being brought a reality by EVOLVE's show, and what it a great reality it brought to the ring. Donny may be one of the best wrestlers in EVOLVE, but Ryotaro is one of the Top Ten wrestlers in the entire world, and it showed as the veteran kept control in this match.

 

Donny didn't let that discourage him however, as his flashy and unorthodox grooving style got him much needed openings via surprise on Naruto, slowly, but surely building up some much needed momentum. A shaky back and forth kept the match in an uncertain place for the fans in the Theatre, as many wanted to believe in Donny, but the reputation brought by Naruto was hard to deny. Though no matter anyone's stance, the crowd jumped to their feet during a setup by Ryotaro for the devastating Naruto Driver, taunting the fans as he began to lift Chic....only to come to a stop as Chic blocked the lift attempt, taking the moment to counter the position and flip Naruto over his back! With confusion the Golden Dragon Champion stumbled to the ropes for support, giving a shake of his head before turning, ready to end Chic for good this time.

 

But unfortunately for the dazed vet, he failed to hear the sounds of the Gotham Theatre count down their favorite dance move, courtest of Donny Chic. With continuous unison and volume they went from one to five to screaming as the knee went straight into the face of Ryotaro Naruto, an eruption seeming to take over at the exact moment of impact. With an exhausted look Donny dragged himself over the body of DRAGON's top champion, neither man moving as Referee Jacob and the crowd counted once more:

The situation looks bad as a barely standing Donny Chic uses the ropes to help him stand, his eyes never leaving the slow moving form of Dwaine Kai as he climbs into the ring, a grin on his face.

 

Kai: Congrats Chic, you beat an old man, but at what cost? I would tell you, but I'd feel much better showing you, starting with the cost of that goofy face of yours!

 

But before Kai even gets halfway across the ring the crowd erupts, as from the back comes the X-Division Champion, Super TIGER!

Christoph: No argument, see that's how I like it, MY wrestlers understanding that MY word is law, take a note Richie, it might help you and your career! You see, we need ourselves a Prime Champion, someone who can carry the company to greater heights, so as of now, everyone in this promotion better step up their game. BV: It's going to be a hell of a task for Zuma to keep order in that cage match, Donny and Dwaine know what's at stake here, and you can bet they're dying to tear each other apart.

 

GP: It's been great decision after decision with our boss, I can't wait to see what he thinks of during the next year!

Halcón vs. Schism

The X-Division showed off two of their best in the opening bout in a classic veteran versus rookie matchup. While Schism has seen styles in the sky for many years, Halcón is a true born luchador, bringing out a unique level of intensity for someone just three years into the business. In the end Halcón uses his picture perfect Halcón Dropkick to stop an incoming Great Divide, getting an impressive victory.

BV: While he may have come up short last month in the four way bout, Halcón is showing that he is destined to be a main player in EVOLVE's X-Division.

 

GP: The kid has a lot more men to beat before I start saying I'm impressed. We've got a hungry division Bobby, so don't start picking favorites just yet.

 

BV: This coming from the man who has Dwaine Kai's autograph tucked into his coat pocket?

 

GP: Hey...now about that....oh look Hannah has an interview! Take it away Hannah!

With an amused expression Hannah turns to Eva Cortes, preparing to ask a question, only to meet with a raised hand in response.

 

Cortes: Not me this time Goldie, Ardor has something he wants to say.

 

With slight confusion Hannah brings the mic to Ardor, a bit unnerved by being close to the usually quiet luchador.

 

Ardor: In this Theatre I get to prove my point twice in one night. I prove that for all his imitation, American Eagle is nothing compared to the real passion of a true luchador. Luck was on his side last month when he pinned El Icono, but luck can not save him from El Ardor. After I deal with Eagle my flames will spread, and soon more will join my liberation of lucha libre from the hands of the undeserving.

It was a full throttle fight from the very start, all led by a determined American Eagle who was aiming to score that first pinfall of the night. Unfortunately it seemed Ardor had his intensity well scouted, fighting back with his own solid focus. In the end Ardor's focus won out, a reversal allowing him to hit a Fireball dead center in the ring for the first fall.

Winner of the 1st Fall: El Ardor at 7:35

 

From there the match took a different tone, one of survival for the young American Eagle as Ardor kept right on him as soon as possible. Move after move it seemed that Eagle was getting back up slower and slower, showing signs of a straight two pin victory for his enemy. Yet with a last ditch burst of energy Eagle gained a pin of his own, turning a Fireball attempt into a flash pin!

Winner of the 2nd Fall: American Eagle at 12:11

 

The crowd and Bobby V burst out in cheers, seeing that Eagle had gotten himself halfway to victory even with the pain he's taken so far. The elation didn't last long however, as Ardor quickly jumped back on him, giving not one, but three more Fireballs in the middle of the ring, gaining himself the final fall.

BV: What a disgusting display. The kid was already suffering from the first Fireball, giving him two more, let alone three wasn't needed!

 

GP: Ardor wanted to make a point via two straight pinfalls tonight Bobby, and since he didn't get that he chose another way for a statement.

 

BV: That doesn't make any of it right. Eagle has some of the greatest heart we've seen in EVOLVE, he didn't deserve that added violence.

 

GP: Sometimes that's just how things roll Bobby, like we have to do with our show. Take it away Hannah baby.

Gold: Thanks boys, right now I'm here with the South African wrestling pioneer as well as tonight's special guest referee, Chad Zuma! Now if there's one thing I know about you, it's that everywhere you go you're known as THE rebel. So why come to EVOLVE and agree to be an official for the night?

 

Zuma: I've been interested in coming to EVOLVE for a while now, ever since August news has been big on this place and the wrestling it has to offer. Wrestling that I want to be a part of, wrestling where I'm guaranteed the absolute best in opposition. So when Cristoph came and offered me both a contract and the chance to be the referee for tonight, I had to agree, what better way to scout out your new competition than watching them in the best seat possible?

 

Zuma stops and looks behind Hannah, causing the blond to turn herself as the camera zooms out, only to show the large frame of Hollywood Giant.

Giant: That better be all you're doing tonight Zuma, you see, Kai and I want to make sure you get something straight. We're the top dogs in this place, so as a result, new meat like you listen to us. Otherwise-

 

Zuma: Otherwise what?

 

Both men stare each other down, sizing the other up as a worried looking Hannah Gold backs away a bit, ready to run in case things get bad.

 

Zuma: I'm here to call things down the middle tonight. Plain and simple. But I appreciate the welcome, maybe next month you and I can meet in the ring ourselves, and I'll give you a heart-warming gift of my own, a Clothesline from Cape Town.

 

With that Zuma walks away, a scowling Giant staring after him.

GP: His first day and there goes Chad Zuma making trouble, I expected better from a seasoned "professional" like him.

 

BV: You're just saying that because he likes Dwaine Kai and Hollywood Giant as much as I do.

It was an interesting side of Corvis Jones that presented itself during this match as he gave some rather vicious strikes and moves to the X-Division Champion. It was clear that there was some bad blood between the two men, not surprising considering Corvis was the man that TIGER made submit to become the first X-Division Champion. With both men exchanging increasingly fierce strikes, Corvis took it to another level, locking TIGER in his own submission maneuver, the TIGER Triangle!

 

With anger on his face, TIGER fought his own move, managing to counter it into a near pinfall that caused Corvis to let go. Once free, TIGER seemed to lose his usual focus, and began giving back to Jones matching vicious strikes and moves, holding nothing back. In the end TIGER had his victory in more ways than one, ending the match with a brutal Corvis Clash in the center of the ring, putting The Long Gunman down.

 

Winner and STILL Champion: Super TIGER by Pinfall at 15:23

BV: Brutal but beautiful, there was a lot of emotion in that match from both men, and I'd be surprised if this was the end of it, regardless of the name of our show tonight.

 

GP: A lot of credit to my boy Corvis Jones though! He showed that with or without that title, he could do everything that TIGER can do, maybe even while doing it better!

 

BV: Don't give out all your praise yet Gold, we've still got a bit more of a ways to go before the night ends, like our final interview for the night with Hannah Gold and Richie Santana Jr.

Gold: Richie you've had this red specter over your head for months now, and he's taken so much from you, how are you feeling now that you finally get to meet him face to face? Also...any word on finding Serenity?

 

Santana: Right now I feel nothing but focused. Tonight I fight the demon that's been haunting me, and honestly I don't care about the reasons, I don't care about harm to me. What I do care about is Serenity. I don't know where she is, but to whoever you are and wherever you're keeping her, it doesn't matter. I will get her back!

 

At his final word the feed cuts off, and the lights go off in the Theatre, only for the screens to turn back on, only this time, there's a different scene. There's no Hannah and Richie, just the masked man and a tied up Serenity in a room painted dark red.

With a tilt of his head and a burst of panic from Serenity the feed cuts for a few seconds, until just the Theatre lights return.

BV: This is much worse than just a monster in a mask Gold...

 

GP: Those motives...I don't like what they imply Bobby. I'm not the greatest fan of Richie Santana Jr., but to talk about using another man's blood that casually...something ain't right with that guys head.

 

BV: We can only hope Richie is prepared for the level of depravity he might be facing here tonight, because there's no more hiding, it's Richie versus Crimson Matsuka now.

Richie began this match seemingly on literal fire, his same ferocity from last week showing up as he immediately took the fight to Crimson. Yet for everything he did, Matsuka seemed to barely slowdown, giving back equally vicious strikes and moves. While Richie held his own, even going so far as to take the monster's Blood Drive headfirst into the mat, Crimson lived up to his myths of being a demon, taking two Flying Crossbodies in a row and still getting up and giving back punishment, eventually busting Richie open with his onslaught, laughing loudly at the sight of a bleeding Santana.

 

But with quick thinking through the pain, Richie gives a strong headbutt to Crimson, getting a much needed second to recover. With this chance Richie hardly waits, leaping onto the turnbuckle and waiting for the right second as Matsuka turns before leaping for a third Flying Crossbody! It all goes bad as he gets caught midair, the Crossbody being reversed into a devastating Blood Drive. With Richie lying on the mat, Matsuka kneels, giving his bloody forehead a quick swipe of his fingers, only to mark the mat next to Richie's face with his initials. With a small nod Matsuka rolls out the ring, Referee Jacob Loeb counting out the retreating maniac as he walks up the ramp, his masterpiece in the ring, personally signed.

 

Winner: Richie Santana Jr. by Count-Out at 13:27

GP: Even the heart of a Santana couldn't stop that psycho...if anything that heart was just used by said psycho to make a calling card.

 

BV: Richie isn't done. Look at him, even with all that he's starting to stir! I just hope that he doesn't start to do anything drastic after this...we've only seen glimpses of what this maniac is made of.

 

GP: I hope we don't see the full extent, this is freaky enough as is...

 

BV: Well while the ring gets cleaned and Richie gets taken care of, I understand we have a special video to play. And from what we know of the details behind it, it's something to be excited about.

The video rolls, showing a man that is definitely familiar to the fans in the Gotham Theatre as he sits in the middle of an EVOLVE Pro Wrestling ring, the area around him empty.

 

Texas: When I look at EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, I see a wild jungle, filled with all sorts of beasts, hungry and calling, but no Alpha. However something Mr. Christoph said last month...that caught my interest. There's all sorts of evolution in wrestling, evolution in styles, moves, people, fans, and like with my own, careers. So I'm here to say, you'll get your wish Mr. Christoph, you're going to get an evolution perfect for EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, you're going to get that Alpha, the evolution of dominance! I just hope your boys are ready for it.

As the cage was brought down a video played on the screen, showing the history between Dwaine Kai and Donny Chic, starting from Sunset Slam to Donny's challenge at New England Nightmare. The focus was on how their slight dislike turned into full hatred, both men fully determined to knock the other man down a peg by shaving him bald.

 

The match was definitely as brutal as people were expecting and hoping for, with Donny starting off strong due to catching Dwaine by surprise when he tried to remark at Chad Zuma as the bell rung. Yet once in control Dwaine upped the violence, using the cell as a vicious weapon until Donny was busted open, even delivering a Surf Bomb into the cell wall. But as he attempted to climb the cell Donny grabbed onto his foot, desperately trying to prevent the escape. Eventually Kai's struggling ended up in his own disaster, as one slip gave Donny all he needed to pull Kai down to the mat flat on his back.

 

With Zuma counting, both men struggle to get to their feet, the crowd and announce team cheering for their choice of man to stand again, going ballistic as both just barely beat the count on either sides of the ring. With their heads no longer rattling both men stare for a second before Donny charges, a knee at the ready, but Kai dodges and follows up with an immediate low blow, putting Chic back on the mat. With a smirk Kai begins to set up the same move that put down KC Summer last month, The People's Leg Drop! Yet as he runs to the ropes Donny vaults himself back up onto his feet just in time to whip an already running Kai into the other side of the ring! With a run and bounce off the ropes himself, Donny meets the momentum filled Kai in the middle of the ring with a hard hitting Dance to the Music! With Mr. Hawaii down Donny rolls over for the cover, Gold Plated screaming "No! No!" as Bobby V counts down with the audience, 1! 2! 3!

As the cell begins to rise a hustling Hollywood Giant runs down to the ring, prepared to save Kai from getting his head shaved, rolling into the ring to give chokeslams to everyone, only to stand up just in time for a Clothesline from Cape Town from Chad Zuma! But the big man is still standing, even if stunned against the ropes, so the one night referee runs at the opposite ropes, building momentum for a second Clothesline, this one taking Hollywood right out of the ring! With a nod at Donny Chic, he grabs a small shaving kit from Jacob Loeb, before handing it to the victorious Chic, standing to the side as he keeps an eye on the fallen Giant.

 

With the crowd cheering behind him, Donny takes care of his final piece of business for the night, shaving an unconscious Dwaine Kai bald, turning Mr. Hawaii, into Mr. Clean for the night. After posing with the bald egomaniac for a few pictures, Donny climbs the turnbuckle, clippers roaring in his hand as he ends 2014 on top of the world, cheering with his fans.

GP: I can't believe these people! A man just got shaved bald, and his best friend received a terrible assault from a man who was supposed to be an official! Dwaine Kai deserved better than this!

 

BV: The only thing Kai deserves right now is a towel to shine up his bald head real nice! Maybe now I might actually want an autographed picture myself!

 

GP: I can't believe you either Bobby! What a horrible way to end 2014!

Bobby: Well it was either I call you, or Erin does while currently drunk off his ass.

 

Ebony: How do you know he's drunk?

That woke me up a bit, we hadn't spoken about tag teams since August when we wanted to figure out how to start off with our roster.

 

Ebony: I know he's drunk, but he isn't stupid, why is he wanting this now?

 

Bobby: Well, do you remember the WWWE's old tournament Pay Per View? Ring Royale?

 

I had to wince at hearing that name. While at first it was a fun event that actually helped a few careers, it became known as a career killer around the time the WWWE shut down. I mean, sure you'd get a push for winning, but said push came with a terrible "King" gimmick that killed all and any fan support until next year's victim got chosen.

 

Ebony: I kinda don't want to remember it honestly.

 

Bobby: Oh trust me, I didn't want to either, but apparently Erin's been watching through the DVD set with friends, and wants us to do our own tournament, just with tag teams.

 

Ebony: That's...actually not a bad idea. Why not just tell me this later in the day though?

 

Bobby: Because I need to tell Erin you agree, otherwise he's going to call you himself.

 

Ebony: Thank you for calling me in that case. Tell him as long as no stupid gimmick goes with winning I'm all for it.

Bobby V: It's a full house here in the Gotham Theatre, with everybody ready to celebrate the start of a new year with some of the best wrestling around!

 

Gold Plated: Speaking of starting, Owner Erin Christoph decided that we should start off with something new, so without further ado let's go to the ring for a golden beginning!

In the ring stands EVOLVE Interviewer Hannah Gold, for once out of her interview set, standing next to a stand with a red cloth over the top.

 

Gold: New year, new things, and what's more new than your favorite interview host finally appearing in person? I'm not just here for my own pleasure though folks, I've got some news to deliver, both good and bad. For six months you've been amazing fans, but like its namesake, EVOLVE Pro Wrestling is always changing, and this April will be no different as we make a move to a bigger venue. But we aren't leaving you all without a proper goodbye, featuring these babies!

It seems not even the passing of the holidays has stopped the fire behind El Ardor as of late as he dishes out some heavy pain to Earl Ray Travis. That isn't to say Earl just crumples and accepts his loss. The ever chipper hillbilly stands his ground the best he can, refusing to be pinned, but after two Fireballs not even Earl can stay standing, continuing the fires of Ardor.

BV: He's got momentum, but I don't think he has a point. Look at our X-Division Champion! Wears a mask, isn't from Mexico, but is king of our skies here in EVOLVE Pro Wrestling.

 

GP: Well you heard Ardor, he's got backup on the way in the form of three luchadors, and knowing him he's not gonna settle for anything less than some of the best. Just like the man coming down to the ring actually. Ladies and gentlemen, "The Natural" Travis Lothario!

Lothario: Last year wasn't best one for "The Natural". Sure, I got signed to EVOLVE Pro Wrestling, but my first few months were ruined by a gap-tooth hillbilly and his no doubt cousin-slash-wife! However that's all going to change this year, and it all starts in March as myself and a specially chosen partner go through seven other pairs of losers and become the first ever EVOLVE World Tag Team Champions! But unlike my last "partner", I have decided to employ one of the wrestling world's greatest managers, a man who has been to more countries than I have years, "Excellence" Edgar Swick!

With a smirk the new manager of "The Natural" walks out to the ring, shaking the hand of his client before being given the mic.

 

Swick: Travis I have to say it is amazing to finally be face to face with a man who knows true talent! You and I, we're similar souls, above the common man, like this whole crowd for example! But to get that tag team gold we need a third man of true talent, so for the next two months I have arranged some trial partners against random talent. We'll see if any man can stand up to the talent of "The Natural", and be worthy of the term "partner"!

It seems that Lothario and Swick got a bit more than they expected in this match, as what was supposed to be a makeshift team of inferiors turned out to be a surprisingly cohesive duo of Lenny Rhodes and Rocker Billy. The same couldn't be said for Lothario and Lejosne, as even tagging each other in resulted in an argument, both men feeling they deserved the "spotlight". Even with some well done wrestling, Lejosne's trial got put to a painful end courtesy of a double superkick the party team like to call the Block Rocker.

BV: The only man I feel sorry for is Edgar Swick, and that's just because he's going to have to hear Lothario complain about this loss all night long. Thankfully we got something better to hear with Hannah Gold and Super TIGER backstage!

Gold: While it was nice to be out of my set, this girl lives for information, and when it comes to information there's never anyone better to ask then a champion! Now TIGER, you've shown us before that current champions are allowed to compete for other titles, the question is will you try again, and if so, for which title?

 

TIGER: I've asked myself that before Hannah, and with the addition of the EVOLVE World Tag Team Championship, that question became more difficult. However I am not a man who will be content with his first glory, to be the best you can never settle, never stop fighting! So while it may not be right now, I can guarantee the entire EVOLVE roster that sooner or later, TIGER will be on the hunt.

 

From just outside the view of the camera clapping is heard, getting louder and louder until the man it's coming from steps into frame.

Sleaze: Touching. However I think you need to get your head out of whatever cloud it's stuffed in and get back to reality. I didn't come here from Texas just to hear you have a moment, I came for that title. So before you have dreams about being a World Champion, I suggest you focus on your nightmares of losing that title first because for me, taking it will be #JustSleazy.

This match was anything but "Sleazy" for the challenger, as he found himself countered at nearly every maneuver by a vindictive Super TIGER, little by little upsetting his opponent. After minutes of being stalemated by a smirking champion, Sleaze finally snapped, his smug expression having long since given way to a snarling face. With a shout of "Stop mocking me!" Joey snaps his leg forward to TIGER's groin, causing both the DQ and the champion to fall, but for Sleaze the match is long forgotten as he stomps into TIGER until officials manage to pull him off.

 

Winner and STILL Champion: Super TIGER by DQ at 13:12

GP: What kind of behavior is that from TIGER?! If you ask me he deserved that kick for not taking Joey Sleaze seriously enough! Definitely not the type of champion we need here in EVOVLE.

 

BV: So you'd rather have the guy who kicks people in the groin then?

 

GP: Oh sure, I'm the bad guy! Yet you're all happy to cheer for Chad Zuma after he ruined Dwaine Kai's life!

 

BV: It's hair Gold, he'll grow it back, but at least our next match might have you feeling better as Zuma takes on the man he Clotheslined right out of the ring, Hollywood Giant!

What should've been a clash of titans started out with a cheap shot from Giant to the back of the head, attacking Zuma as he made his entrance to the ring. With a dazed Zuma at his mercy, the big man wastes no time getting his opponent in the ring and taking control of the match, power moves galore as he brings the pain to Chad. The control seems to get to his head however, as Zuma manages to escape a Silver Screen Chokeslam, kicking Giant in the gut as he roared toward the crowd.

 

While finally getting a chance to breathe, Zuma was still battered with a now furious Giant staring him down from across the ring. But fourteen years of vicious fights weren't for nothing as Zuma met the charge of Hollywood head first! It became more of a brawl than a wrestling match as both men began trading blows, determined to just knock the other out. But it was Zuma who won the exchange, pulling out a Clothesline From Cape Town out of nowhere! But with the big man still standing he runs to the ropes and builds momentum for a second, this time sending Hollywood crashing down to the mat for the pinfall victory!

 

Winner: Chad Zuma by Pinfall at 13:23

Grade(Entrance Attack/Match): 57/52

 

With the mountain of man that was looming over him now flat on its back, Zuma begins to celebrate, posing on the turnbuckles for the rowdy Gotham Theatre, cheering the latest addition to the EVOLVE roster. But those cheers turn to boos as Zuma is attacked from behind by a masked man, sending him crashing down onto the Theatre floor! Across the ring a recovering Hollywood Giant stares with an expression of genuine confusion at the masked man who has since climbed the turnbuckles himself, posing above the limp form of Chad Zuma.

 

Grade: 63

BV: Who the hell is this guy?! Is it Kai being back already!?

 

GP: This time I don't think it's Dwaine, look at the face of Giant, that's some Grade A confusion right there.

 

BV: Well if it isn't Kai then who could it be?! Zuma just got here, he can't have made that many enemies!

 

GP: Thing is Bobby, what if this guy isn't even on our roster? We've said it ourselves, Zuma has been in this business for fourteen years, who knows how many guys could have a score to settle?!

 

BV: That's a good point, but it's one we're going to have to think more on later as we go to backstage with Hannah Gold and her last interview of the night!

Gold: Well that's actually part of the question I have tonight for you. Over the last few months there's been a lot of fear spread throughout the locker room about Crimson Matsuka, especially with his actions last month when he faced off with Richie Santana. What is your plan against a man who seems to care about nothing but causing pain?

 

Chic: My plan? My plan is to go out and give the Gotham Theatre a dance between demons! He may be able to take a lot of punishment, but I am a dancing machine whose definitely no stranger to an all-nighter on the dance floor! With that being said, Matsuka! You bring your dark flow to that ring, and I'll bring the funky fire, because these people are gonna see a boogieman beatdown straight outta hell!

I suppose taking Ms. Barrera was a bit too overzealous, but every great artist needs an assistant! GP: I think I liked Matsuka better when I didn't know anything about him Bobby.

 

BV: You and me both partner. After what he did last month I'm a bit worried for Donny's safety, but last month also proved how Donny isn't an easy man to take down.

 

GP: You said the same thing about Richie Santana Jr, and nobody has seen him since last month. We can only hope that things don't repeat this time.

Donny Chic vs. Crimson Matsuka

It was an odd sight to see the bouncing Donny Chic and the stoic Crimson Matsuka in the same ring as they faced off in this contest, but even stranger to see it reflected in their fighting styles. While Matsuka took damage and dealt it back in vicious punches, Donny relied on his speed to get strikes and pull of chains of moves. The two went so far as to go outside their usual offenses, with Matsuka performing his own surprising feats of flight, and Donny pulling out some rare technical pressure on Matsuka's limbs.

 

But it all came back down to Matsuka, seemingly not able to be pain as he kept on standing, even after nearly ten minutes of intense back and forth with Donny, having even taken a Listen to the Music knee strike to the skull. That isn't to say Donny was struggling, even after two Blood Drives the "Disco Demon" was staying true to his word and grooving through the pain. It was Donny who managed to come out the winner in this battle of wills, toughing it out until he found an opening, rolling up the mad "artist" for the victoy!

For a second the masked menace stood there in shock, looking at the laughing Chic before stalking towards Donny, a snarl on what was visible of his face. But before he could even get close the crowd behind him began to scream, causing him to turn right into a Flying Crossbody from none other than Richie Santana Jr.!

With his ego and body battered Matsuka rolls out the ring, for once looking very shaken as his eyes dart between Richie and Donny, a mad cackle leaving his lips as they look right back.

GP: He may have gotten out by the skin of his teeth, but the man deserves respect for his determination.

 

BV: Speaking of determination I'm damn happy to see Richie here as well! He still isn't done with Matsuka yet, and by his new look, he's more intense than ever before!

The lights dim as the screens come to life, surprising the crowd that was just about to leave as they see the stern face of "Dr. Texas" Terry Rapada, frowning as he gazes upon Donny Chic.

Rapada: Was that it? Is that who you people see as your "hero"? A dancing dunce who can't even keep a rogue trick-or-treater down? No wonder Mr. Christoph was asking for more talent, there isn't any in the first place! Ever since Erin's announcement of the move and addition of a tag division to the roster there's been a new sense of excitement amongst the EVOLVE crew. Hell, I even had the bug myself, I couldn't wait to see how March turned out, especially with the plans Bobby and I were drafting at the moment, but before my mind could drift off, a knock on the office door brought me back.

 

Hannah: Hey Ebony! You got a minute? I've got an idea for the website.

 

There she is, Hannah Gold, official interview host for our backstage segments and EVOLVE's unofficial #1 Superfan. Every week the girl would come down to the office to share a new idea with Bobby, Erin or myself, and while they were usually interesting, some were just not possible for us to do, at least not yet.

 

Ebony: Hey Hannah, was wondering when you were gonna show up with a new brainstorm, what do ya got this time?

 

Hannah: Well normally when it comes to announcing our next show we just make a post on the site and leave it for people to see. I was wondering if I could do something for the next card.

 

Ebony: Like what?

 

Hannah: Like instead of a web post, we could use my interview set and record a segment of me hyping up the show card! Nobody else is doing that at the moment, so it'd be a good way to make us stand out.

 

Ebony: We'll have to get working on it as soon as possible to meet the announcement deadline, but otherwise I like it and I'm sure Bobby and Erin will agree once I give them a call.

 

Hannah: Really?! I'm so glad to hear that! Do you mind if I stay around and start planning it out with you?

 

Ebony: Not at all kid. Take a seat, we've got a long night ahead of us.

After the DQ ending to their match last month, Owner Erin Christoph decided to have Joey Sleaze and Super TIGER meet once more, only this time with partners of their choice from the roster! While Sleaze has already declared Corvis Jones as his partner, TIGER has been quiet, but with how the man himself is a such a mystery, that's no surprise!

Richie Santana Jr. vs. Crimson Matsuka

 

On the orders of Erin Christoph, Richie Santana Jr. and Crimson Matsuka will bring their blood feud, and quite possibly each other, to an end as they meet in a Last Man Standing match! Richie intends on beating the location of Serenity out of the insane artist, but he may not have to, as a cryptic, (and creepy), video posted on our forums indicates that Matsuka is bringing Serenity to the match!

Our friends from over the border are coming to join the tag team turmoil, as Total Wrestling Revolution's Jorge and Hector Munoz come up north to take on the superstar team of Donny Chic and Chad Zuma!
