Monday, Week 1, January 2016

Ring of Honor took the wrestling world by storm today as unknown entity Linvoy Sackelton took full ownership of the company. In a press conference Linvoy stated "I have no time for sentiment, the time is now for Ring of Honor. No longer will we play second fiddle to other wrestling companies, WWE we are coming for you".

 

Sackelton went on to say that the first Ring of Honor wrestling taping would only be the start of the wrestling revolution, with things never being the same again.

 

For this play through all rosters, titles, wrestlers ect have been fully updated as recently as January 2016. There are no defined rules besides taking ROH to the very top of the wrestling world. Weekly show and PPV results will be posted here and hopefully it will become an enjoyable read!

Wednesday, Week 1, January 2016

 

Only two days into his ownership of Ring of Honor and the company has already been turned on its head. It has been reported that all existing ties with other companies, such as its working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling have been terminated. Rumor has it that this is so Linvoy can press ahead with signing key roster members to written contracts.

 

Although unconfirmed it is heavily rumored that contracts have already been handed out to several of the companies top stars, as well as several other talents on the independent scene.

 

ROH has come to terms with the release of several members of staff, including COO Joe Koff. The full list is as follows..

Kelly: Welcome Ladies & Gentlemen to the inaugural 2016 edition of Ring of Honor Wrestling

 

Corino: Wow Kelly, that's a big word for a man like you. Yes folks, tonight promises to be one of the biggest....

 

*The music of Adam Cole hits, he makes his way down to the ring with a mic in hand*

 

Cole: For those of you who do not know who i am, my name is Adam Cole and i am your NEXT ROH World Heavyweight Champion. Who am i kidding?! You ALL know who i am. But what you don't know about is change. Change is coming, change is glorious. Change scares most of you, which is why you will never succeed in life. I am here with a message. There is a new General Manager for Ring of Honor and he will debut next week. That does not stop him from making a mark this week. He has informed me that EVERY match this week has the same stipulation.

It is time to rid ROH of all of its dead weight. Therefore, the loser of every match tonight will have their contract immediately terminated! Oh, and not only does yours truly NOT have to compete, but all titles will be defended...Tonight! Let the show begin...

 

Match One - Cheeseburger vs Joey Daddiego

In a very short match between two wrestlers who had absolutely no chemistry together, Cheeseburger got the pinfall after a beautifully executed shining wizard.

Angle - Backstage

Trainers and referees are seen tending to Raymond Rowe who appears to have been the victim of a sneak attack. Dalton Castle confidently enters and volunteers himself to help defend the tag title tonight. A less than impressed Hanson looks on, shaking him head in despair.

 

Match Two - ACH vs BJ Whitimer

In another quick match, ACH got the win following a roll-up pin.

 

Match Three - Dalton Castle & Hanson vs The Young Bucks - Tag Team Championship Match

In a near 10 minute match that showed great in ring work, The Young Bucks scored the pin fall after a double superkick to Dalton Castle. Hanson looked enraged after realizing that not only did he lose his title, but also his job.

 

Angle - Kenny King walks down to the ring, ready for his match tonight against Jack Evans. As he slides in the ring he tweaks his knee, with the ringside doctor checking him over. He eventually throws up the 'X' hand symbol and King is helped to the back. Before going through the curtain he turns to the crowd, giving them a simple wink to show that he was faking just to get out of competing on tonight's show

 

Match Four - The Addiction vs The C&C Wrestle Factory

Knowing that a win could catapult them to the top of the tag team division, Christopher Daniels scored the win for The Addiction at the 12 minute mark, hitting Caprice Coleman with the Celebrity Rehab for the victory.

Match Five - Beretta vs Matt Taven vs Roderick Strong © - ROH World Television Title

In another solid match with good action, Roderick Strong retained the ROH World Television Title after hitting the Death by Roderick and scoring the pinfall on Matt Taven. Beretta keeps his job as he was not pinned.

Main Event - Jay Lethal vs Low Ki - ROH World Title

In a match that had great action and great chemistry between opponents, Jay Lethal got the pin and win 18 minutes into the match after hitting the Lethal Injection to retain his title. The re-debuting Low Ki looked on in shock as his latest spell with ROH turned out to be his shortest yet.

 

Kelly: Well i can't believe it, one show into the new year and no less than EIGHT of our beloved roster have had their contracts terminated!

 

Corino: Get a grip, Kelly! If this is the way our company rolls now, then i love it! I personally cannot wait until next week when we find out who are new GM is.

 

Kelly: I disagree Steve, who would have thought our very first ROH World Champion Low Ki would not only return, but lose his job on the same night? It's a disgrace!

 

Corino: He may have been our first champion, but he'll be first in the unemployment line come tomorrow!

 

Kelly: That's no way to speak about one of our legends here in ROH. We will see the fallout to all this next week on ROH Wrestling, thank you at home for watching, goodnight!

 

 

Post Show Dark Match:

Note: Loses in dark matches do not result in the termination of the wrestlers contracts as the show is over.
