Angle Rating question.

Recommended Posts

I'm here to ask a minor question about angles, let me put the following situation:

-I'm in a company where workers are rated more on popularity than performance, say,SWF.

-I want to put a worker with,say,25 mic skills and,say,80 overall pop around the world in an angle where he would be rated on mic skills.

Would that angle score good due to the worker's popularity or would it score bad because of his mic skills?

it would score terrible because the angle is rating on the workers mic skills. if the angle was rated on the workers overness then it would score better.

I dont no 100% if it gets a little boost because of the workers overness, I think it does but not much.

l angles take overness into account. For overness based angles you tend to end up with ratings very close to their level of overness.... anything else is going to be rated roughly in the middle of whatever you rate them on and overness. So in your scenario, you'd probably expect to get roughly 55-60 rated segment assuming there were no other people involved and without taking into account the level of the crowd, the previous segment, charisma/star quality bonuses and momentum. :)

I'm pretty sure it will be graded half on mic skills and half on Overness. Or rather, each rated participant's contribution will be calculated that way. That's why you'll sometimes be told that workers with excellent entertainment skills "performed terribly".

The 50/50 ratio will apply to anyone rated on Entertainment, Microphone, or Acting. If you rate someone on Menace or Sex Appeal then Overness will be less important. I think it's 80/20. However, any angle where half or more of the ratings are based on Sex Appeal has a cap on how high it can grade.

This demonstrates the value of Menace. A worker with high Menace can get an excellent grade even if he's unknown, while a good talker is limited in what they can accomplish until they establish themselves.

In your example of a worker with 25 mic and 80 overness rated on mic, assuming he's the only rated participant in the angle, then expect a base grade of around 52.5 on average. I'm not sure how much randomness is applied. There will also be bonuses and penalties applied based on gimmick ratings, hot or cold crowds, the worker's Star Quality, locker room morale, worker morale, etc... so the final grade might be well above or below that 52.5 average.

BTW, workers cutting a promo are usually rated on Entertainment (which is based on Charisma, Microphone, and Acting) rather than just Microphone.

EDIT: ninja'd by Derek B, which is fine because most of my information comes directly or indirectly from him (though any errors are mine alone). Plus I forgot to mention Momentum which is always important.
