Starting in December 2015, Dragon Gate began to make a move for the top spot in Japan. CIMA used his own money to buy Dragon Gate, henceforth he became the owner and booker. Ever since that day, Dragon Gate has begun to expand to rapid heights. Now it is September 2016 and Dragon Gate has grown exponetially. A feud of disdain started after this month

 

The main feud this month was between every single stable! It was announced that every stable would put forth a representative to challenge Shingo Takagi for his Open The Dream Gate Title at Final Gate! VerserK put forth Shingo Takagi, obviously. Dia.HEARTS nominated Dragon Kid, Jimmyz nominated Jimmy K-Ness JKS!, Monster Express nominated Masato Yoshino, & Over Generation nominated CIMA. At Final Gate, CIMA was the one to win the Open The Dream Gate Championship even though he pinned Dragon Kid! Takagi was furious.

 

Another feud was between former Millenials brothers Eita & T-Hawk. It started when Eita blamed T-Hawk for the disbandment of the Millenials. T-Hawk decided to not waste his time in petty arguements and challenged Eita to a match at Final Gate. Eita was victorious, but this was just the beginning.

 

Masato Yoshino, T-Hawk, & Akira Tozawa of the Monster Express won the Open The Triangle Gate Championship after defeating U-T, Yosuke

 

Masato Yoshino also vacated the Open The Owarai Gate Championship, U-T won it in a match against Punch Tominaga, Syachihoko BOY, & Big R Shimizu.

 

Other notable occurences included Seiya Sanada debuting and winning against Genki Horiguchi H.A.Gee.Mee!!. Sanada then sadly died on the way back to his hotel after the show. The rest of the tour was dedicated to his memory.

The Future Is Now!

 

The main feud this month was between CIMA & Akira Tozawa. After Tozawa challenged CIMA to a match at Fantastic Gate, CIMA accepted and we had ourselves a match of the year candidate. Tozawa managed to defeat the most dominant wrestler in Dragon Gate history and win himself his first ever Open The Dream Gate Championship.

 

Eita & T-Hawk continued to battle this month, T-Hawk finally said enough is enough and challenged Eita to a cage match at Fantastic Gate. Eita accepted and the match was on. Eita eventually won the match and put this feud to bed for the time being.

 

U-T lost the Open The Owarai Gate Championship to Matt Sydal at the end of 2015. One week later, U-T defeated NJPW Young Lion, Jay White. After the match, Dragon Kid came down to the ring and offered U-T a position in Dia.HEARTS, under one condition. U-T must have beaten at least 4 out of the 6 Dia.HEARTS members to earn his spot. He got to it the next week, teaming with Yosuke

 

In other news, multiple wrestlers debuted including Roderick Strong, Matt Sydal, David Finlay Jr., Jay White, Kikutaro, & Ricochet. Only Sydal had early success, winning the Open The Owarai Gate Championship.

The two men to carry Dragon Gate into the future

 

After one month off, we are back on tour starting with the Osaka Gate!

 

The main feud this month was between Akira Tozawa & Eita. Eita claimed that since he beat Tozawa's mate twice, he should be the number one contender to his title. After Tozawa defeated CIMA on the first tour show, He accepted Eita's challenge. Eita & Osaka06 defeated Tozawa, T-Hawk, & Yoshino the following week to raise the odds. Tozawa eventually beat Eita in a grueling match at Osaka Gate. However, this may not be the end between these two.

 

The second half of the month began the build towards The Gate Of Passion. Shingo Takagi emerged as a challenger to Tozawa and challenged him to a match at The Gate Of Passion, Tozawa accepted! What will happen next month?

 

This month also saw the debut of Katsuyori Shibata, who was signed away from NJPW. Shibata said that he would join whatever stable provided the best matches with him. After Shibata's trial match with the Jimmyz, which he beat Jimmy K-Ness JKS!, Shingo Takagi challenged him to a match at Osaka Gate. Shibata was victorious in the VerserK trial match and continues to try to find a stable for him.

 

The conclusion of the U-T/Dia.HEARTS program happened. After The Fantastic Gate, U-T lost to Masaaki Mochizuki, this meant that he had to defeat Dragon Kid at Osaka Gate if he wanted to join Dia.HEARTS, he was successful! Now U-T has somehow managed to make the Jimmyz mad, let's see where this one goes.

 

Other occurrences included: Hirooki Goto & KUSHIDA coming over for a one night only appearance at the first tour show. Goto defeated Takehiro Yamamura, while KUSHIDA defeated Kaito Ishida. The King Of Gate tournament was also announced to take place in May.

Over Generation Explodes!

The Passion Gate tour ended this month, and the King Of Gate tournament began, who will win?

 

The main feud this month was between Akira Tozawa & Shingo Takagi. Takagi claimed that the Open The Dream Gate Championship has not held prestige since he lost it, and that Tozawa is just some paper champion. Tozawa took offence to that and accepted his challenge for a match at The Gate Of Passion. Tozawa won in a stellar match.

 

At The Gate Of Passion, CIMA took on BxB Hulk and lost. After the match, Eita showed up and attacked CIMA! Eita kept attacking him until Katsuyori Shibata showed up and saved CIMA from Eita! Shibata then announced that he is now a member of Over Generation! The funny part is that Shibata & Eita were already scheduled to have a match later that night. Eita won that match due to nefarious actions. The following Tuesday, The Young Bucks were announced to be the tag team partners of Eita in his new stable, No Limit.

Your two King Of Gate finalists

May saw the whole King Of Gate Tournament, who won? Let's find out!

 

The four semifinalists were Sami Zayn, Shingo Takagi, T-Hawk, & Eita. These four met in two semifinals matches at Dead Or Alive. Eita defeated Sami Zayn, while T-Hawk defeated Shingo Takagi. These two met in the finals, where Eita won. He continued to attack T-Hawk after the match until Akira Tozawa saved T-Hawk. Eita & Akira Tozawa will now meet for the Dream Gate Championship at the Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival.

 

Sami Zayn debuted and made an impact. He defeated wrestlers such as: Masaaki Mochizuki, Jimmy Susumu, T-Hawk, Masato Yoshino, & Katsuyori Shibata. With those wins, he secured himself a spot at the top of the card.

 

There were also some upsets in the tournament, these included: U-T defeating Mochizuki, El Lindaman defeating Dragon Kid, and Flamita defeating CIMA.

The Big Four

In June, we had The Gate Of Fate. We also started the road to the Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival!

 

The main feud going into The Gate Of Fate was between Sami Zayn & Eita for Eita's Open The Dream Gate Championship oppourtunity at Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival. Zayn claimed that Eita cheated Zayn's mate, T-Hawk, out of that title shot. Eita said that he would prove to the world that his win wasn't a fluke at The Gate Of Fate. Eita eventually had to use his bodyguard to win against Sami Zayn at The Gate Of Fate.

 

Tozawa said that T-Hawk was cheated out of a Open The Dream Gate Championship opportunity, so he would give him a title match at The Gate Of Fate. Tozawa won an excellent match between these two.

 

Eita debuted his bodyguard at the show before The Gate Of Fate, "The Stone Pitbull" Tomohiro Ishii! Ishii would play a key role into helping Eita win at The Gate Of Fate.

Who will walk out of Kobe as Open The Dream Gate Champion?

The final month of the tour and it was arguably the most important month since CIMA took over Dragon Gate.

 

The main feud heading into Kobe was between Akira Tozawa & Eita. Eita had The Young Bucks & Tomohiro Ishii on his side, while Tozawa had Masato Yoshino & T-Hawk on his. These two put on a hell of a show for the fans, but Eita somehow managed to win and become the Open The Dream Gate Champion.

 

Sami Zayn has been clamoring for a match against Tomohiro Ishii after what he did at The Gate Of Fate, and he got it. Ishii gave everything he could, but Zayn was able to overcome the odds and win.

 

The other big story was between VerserK and Over Generation. Shingo was still mad about losing the Open The Dream Gate Title to CIMA all the way back in December, so he organized a losing stable must disband match between the two stables for the Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival. VerserK won thanks to help from Yoshihiro Tajiri. What will CIMA do now?

 

Masaaki Mochizuki finally decided to retire, when he announced that he would be retiring, he got a challenge from Kaito Ishida. Kaito has said that he wants to be like Mochizuki, so why not retire his idol and get the torch passed down to him. Ishida won his match in Kobe and Mochizuki retired to 10,000 fans screaming his name and throwing streamers.

 

In other news, Naoki Tanizaki won the Open The Owarai Gate Championship from Yosuke
