I liked the first renders I did using G3M, but I am just not a huge fan of the G3 figures.

Yeah. For anyone looking to start doing Daz renders with us, avoid Genesis 3. It's a complete waste of money. Just get Gen2 models and Gen1 and Gen2 clothes/hairs on sale.

Absolutely love your second iteration of Cicero and Dante. As soon as I get my laptop fixed I'll be putting them directly in my game.

Thanks! I prefer the M4 versions myself as well.

A more traditional mask for The Great Hisato.

And a different color scheme for UK Dragon's mask, I also ditched the singlet as he doesn't wear a singlet in his original render.

I love the new color scheme on on UK Dragon and the new Hisato Mask.

I agree on using M4...almost every time I go to Genesis or G2 I end up falling back to M4. I absolutely hate G3M as it's so freakin' "stiff". M4, to me, remains the most fluid and easy to work with, especially with expressions.

On that note, I redid my Hugh de Aske as I originally had done it in G3m and all of the above complaints were present. The redo plays more on his "cocky" and also "weasel" strengths and NOW he looks like a character and wrestler I'd want to book, not just some dude dressed up like a pirate.

I'm trying to improve my masked renders since there are so many masked workers in the database.

It's funny that you say that about M4. Almost everytime I use a G3 figure I end up re-rendering that particular worker again with M4 and I always like the M4 version better. It's extremely realistic, has a high poly count that doesn't overly tax lower end machines, poses and expresses with more realism and without the awkward joint clipping you find in the Gen 4 characters. Plus, it uses the auto fit scripts better than any of the other Genesis models. My only knock on G3 is that quite a few of the textures are garbage and the ones that aren't top notch require a LOT of tweaking.

Honestly, the very reasons you mention as their plusses might be minuses to me. If it's too realistic, I think it turns me off in my own renders. I prefer to make it a little cartoony but that's just my style. I've seen people like yourself and Poputt use a more realistic style and loved them.

I agree 100% on the textures. It doesn't have the ability to use the Omnifreaker shader on them because it's missing that setup and they come out not looking right at all to me. I ended up picking up the Legacy UV set for M4 textures and that's helped some but there's still something about G3M that turns me off. I'm gonna play around with the limits though like you suggested. Thanks!

The downside to that is if you, like me, don't have an Iray comparable video card, you need to use a third party render engine or find some non Iray textures. The other negative is that if you are unfamiliar with Iray rendering, figuring out the settings is a suckfest.

If I was looking to get paid for 3d renders and recoup some costs I would've put more money into G3 to give the renders a slightly better look, but as-is I can use older figures and still get the result I wanted. I mean I'm ultimately making a 150x150 image, high poly counts aren't exactly what I'm interested in, you know?

I agree on using M4...almost every time I go to Genesis or G2 I end up falling back to M4. A lot of that is in the expressions you use, so I wouldn't fix what isn't broke unless you want to "grow as an artist" or some similar pretentious crap.
