Hello everyone my name is Puddy and I make youtube videos on the odd occasion. Wanted to pop in here and kick off this thread mainly because I've for a very long time wanted to put a collaboration series together, and thought this might be a good place to look for some people who might be interested. More about that in a future post though. For the meantime I thought I'd introduce myself!

 

I've been doing Youtube for around 6 years now, on a variety of games, if you go back and look at my videos from the past you'll see that I have grown a whole lot since I started. I've had an obsession with the growth of Youtube, it's relation to TV and to some degree forums. Because my start was with Let's Plays, a concept now dissolved once started in a form not too dissimilar to Dynasties! I remember the Something Awful forum days, before LPs started to transfer into video form.

 

TEW was a pretty big turning point for my channel when it comes to a quality standpoint. That's not to say my content is entirely high quality or frequent enough for my liking, I still have a very long way to go. But early last year I started a TEW 2013 series on MAW. It has now become my longest series of all time (beating out Fallout: New Vegas by an episode or two). It wrapped at 166 episodes last month. I also ran a streaming series where I tried a Road to Glory lite challenge, and eventually, succeeded.

 

When this game launched I had two concepts in my head: A NOTBPW series that would hopefully be similar to Phantom Strangers Where I Play, which is one of my favourite pieces of content related to TEW. In some ways I don't know why, there are a few more story based diaries that I enjoy, including PS's own Everybody Knows. But I have a very special place in my heart for that thread. My other idea was to pick up OLLIE and learn the Lucha scene, while also doing a very similar thing to my MAW series, running a territory and growing them.

 

When I picked it up though, I found the characters speaking to me a lot more than the default roster for MAW. Mixed in with the talent of Nicolas Lopez, Gino Montero and Marcos Flores was the unbelievably interesting Hijo Del Mephisto. I decided that OLLIE was the series for me, not NOTBPW, not this time anyway. The more the series has gone on, the more I have tried to tell wacky and fun, yet still serious and important stories. Well, I may have gone a bit too far and I don't claim to be an expert story teller, as my two failed dynasties from last year will attest (AITF and AOTSJ) but I'm having a ton of fun with this series and I hope that anyone who chooses to watch will join me in that fun.

Multiplayer Series

 

So I mentioned in the OP about a MP series idea, here it is, roughly outlined:

(I did this quite quickly, so there are bound to be problems, any questions? Ask! )

 

MP Save Idea #3969: Kinda the same idea I had pre-launch, but on a much smaller scale. The idea would be that I make a small company and put together a very small roster. I make a video showing off the roster for you guys to watch then you go away and come up with a story based around one of the characters. Roughly 30mins per person, I would also base a story, maybe I'd have a user character or something.

 

So 30min story based on a specific character. 2hrs per show. These aren't one and done stories, but I don't plan on them being super long term either. We'll do around 30 episodes and wrap the series, towards the end we'll have the characters we've been building around interact with each other. The focus of the series would be to try and tell a variety of stories in a focused environment, and then wrap with some good climax stuff. It'd be quite quick paced, but we would need to spend time thinking about these things and we need to come into every episode with a plan.

 

Overall, I really like this idea, and think it could make for a good series. I'd like to hear your thoughts. As usual, if the series happens you're free to record, edit and upload it too, but I'm not expecting you too, if you want, I'll be the only one uploading, no problem with that.

Just popping in to let everyone know a big OLLIE episode is up, episode 50 and what I consider to be the mid-series finale:

 

Probably wouldn't recommend watching it first, because there are a few twists and story elements that won't be as effective without context. But it's a nice jumping off point for where the story starts picking up a bit. Consider it the PROGRESS Chapter 9 of my OLLIE series, the show isn't as good without the first few Chapters, but it's a good jumping off point for the story
