[HYPE/RELEASE] C-VERSE - The Fall

Recommended Posts

It all started mid-December 2013....

The world was shocked when it was announced that the legend, Sam Strong had suddenly passed away due to a severe heart attack. The mantels of USPW were passed on to Alicia, however in her grief between her father dying and USPW struggling with ratings, she was unable to handle the sinking ship. March 2014, in what was another piece of shocking news it was Tommy Cornell and TCW, not Richard Eisen, that announced the buy out of USPW.

May 2014.....

More earth shattering news from the wrestling industry, Richard, Eric, and Jerry Eisen, along with Peter Michaels were arrested and charged with tax evasion, fraud, money laundering, and other various charges. SWF was seized by the government and shut down and sold to the highest bidder. Again Tommy Cornell step up to the plate and bought out SWF, easily propelling TCW to being the largest wrestling company in the world.

June 2014.....

Japan is hit with the largest Tsunami to date, decimating the population and economy. In a matter of months most of the wrestling companies had fallen from grace and went bankrupt, as people were simply not watching wrestling. However, BHOTWG opened within 2 months, which led the federal government to investigate how they were able to reopen so quickly. It was discovered that BHOTWG was working with the Yakuza. Japanese leaders quickly banned professional wrestling, effective immediately.

December 2014.....

Canadian Wrestling has been slowly going down hill for the past year, as both NOTBW and CGC were recycling the same stories over and over again. There was fear that both would soon fail. However, in December it was announced that the Stone Family had come to an agreement to buy out CGC and absorb them in one super company.

March 2015......

Warning bells have began to go off, as it was discovered that Tommy Cornell has been running TCW in debt for most of 2014, and is further in the hole than anybody thought.

May 2015....

Tommy was forced to file bankruptcy, which the banks seized TCW. With no potential buyers, as the debt was too high for anybody to touch, TCW closed its doors and held their final event at the end of May 2015. This latest financial scandal, started the slow death of the wrestling industry in the USA.

August 2015.....

Dan Stone announces his retirement and passes the reign off to his eldest son Jeremy. In a bold proclamation, Jeremy has sworn that they will sign no wrestlers from America as they are going to prove that Canadians are the best wrestlers on the planet!

December 2015....

USA and Japan, once home to some of the most prestigious and legendary wrestling companies now lay empty.... not a single active promotion is left...

January 2017......

In the biggest announcements in years for wrestling several legends have come out of retirement to try to bring back wrestling to the USA. Jack Bruce has announced that he will be opening his own wrestling promotion based in the Tri-State Area. Christian Faith announces his own promotion based in the Mid-South. Sam Keith announces that him and his two boys will be opening their own promotion in the Mid-Atlantic. And lastly, Ross Henry, a former football player, has decided to enter the wrestling world by starting his own company in the South West.

I should start off by saying that this is my first attempt ever, at making a mod so hopefully all goes well. I am currently in the planning phases as I work on the stories for Mexico, European Scene, Australian Scene and Eastern Europe. I plan on updating the back story as I work on the mod. Once I get some logos (which I plan to ask the different community members for) I will start to put together a list of active and future promotions. Since I cannot do any type of graphic rendering this may take some time. I got my inspiration from The Fall Mod on 2013 with was based on RW 2001 data. If anybody has any suggestions for companies, starting rosters, or owners feel free to let me know. I am still deciding if I will leave all the workers unemployed or not.

I can say now that the mod will be built off of DerekB's awesome redo of the default C-Verse data. The first release will probably have minimal changes to the worker's stats or popularity, however that may change, as nobody will have worked (at least in the USA and Japan) for about a year minimum.
