9000-Verse - ECW: The Universe of Extreme

Recommended Posts

This is primarily inspired by dstephe1's RTG Wrestling dynasty and EpicCorey's 9000-Verse dynasties...

To those curious enough to try checking this dynasty out, I welcome you.

The name's Mr. Taylor. The full name isn't important right now; what is important is what I wish to share with you.

I'm a resident of the 9000-Verse, which is basically all your fictional desires combined with some of real-life's properties.

A month ago, I was running out of work opportunities back in my own universe, when somewhere, somehow, I literally fell into this world after a bad turn in the wrong direction.

Wandering this universe, still looking for a ring to work in, I called out to the world through social media, with little response. Nothing seemed to be working until I stumbled upon this tweet cast out just earlier that day:

That was my wake-up call. I was aware of the old ECW, how well the company went until its end in 2001, and I've watched. I also actually did like the WWE's version of ECW for a little bit, although I only caught the hightail of it since I wasn't watching WWE until around 2009, around when Christian and Swagger feuded over the title. I went to tryouts, and, alongside a couple of others, was chosen to be an upcoming talent for the show.

However, after looking over my educational skills and accomplishments, Paul Heyman decided to appoint me as a part-time junior advisor to the talent, and booker of ECW, as a test to my knowledge and how well I know how things run around the wrestling business. Even then, they've said I can still compete alongside my co-workers, but I'll have to start from the bottom to do so. If things go right, it'll go a long way to help us achieve a grand legacy ahead of us.

Currently, we have a working agreement with Stan Lee's Marvel/DC Coalition, which will likely benefit us in the near future. However, our plan is to become the top promotion in the universe, so our partnership might not last long. Mr. Lee might not even see it coming when it inevitably happens.

I will update you on the roster and the first show's card, soon.

Originally, I was gonna do this whole mini-story narrative about how Mr. Taylor got here and the tryouts and stuff, but I got a little worried about the length of the posts, so I just condensed it immensely to get it set up in one post. It doesn't need a lot of words to say just as much as originally planned.

From what I heard, Astaroth provoked Brock Lesnar into a fight, and, well, after a plethora of attempted suplexes and objects demolished by a giant axe, Heyman had to break it up. After a brief speech from Heyman on the potential dangers of going extreme on every little situation , things were back to normal.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> First day, people. AFTERMATH

The Beginning was an absolute success! We sold out the Blue Cross Arena with 11k fans willing to stop by. We were live on PPV through recently-made deals with iN DEMAND for the USA and Canada region, and Samurai TV for Japan, and got a 1.94 buy rating (about 970 thousand).

Our next plan of action was a television premiere, the return of Hardcore TV, which we set up with Spike TV. We also managed to get time slots in the UK and Japan with Five and Nitere G+, but nothing from anywhere else.

For our first episode of Hardcore TV, we laid out this card:

Widowmaker vs. D.Va

ECW Television Championship

Kenny Omega © vs. Christopher Daniels

RVD and Sabu vs. The Young Bucks

B. Orchid and Bryan Danielson vs. Astaroth and Brock Lesnar

Also, Heyman and I have agreed on a few ground rules when it comes to our brand:

- If a new signing is to be made, it must be one per month. If it is a tag team, it counts as a single signing.

- The divisions aren't completely restricted: TV division competitors can face off against tag team competitors, and World Championship competitors can be a part of the tag team division part time, and one division can win another division's title if possible. Workers will move between divisions if necessary.

- However, the TV Champion cannot face off against World Champion division wrestlers until they've accumulated ten successful title defenses in a row. Until then, they defend against other people of their division, tag team members, enhancement talent or one-off talents/loans unless specified.

- If a worker from our roster leaves for another company, we don't bury or embarrass them them; we're not like other companies. If they leave for another company, it doesn't mean they'll be gone for long; there's always other people to work with.

Rumors have circulated about what will be the first collaboration between ECW and the Marvel/DC Coalition since banding together at the beginning of the year, mostly of potential talent trades to occur sporadically.

It seems those rumors may be true, as ECW performers Astaroth and B. Orchid are planned to make one-off appearances at MDC2 during next month. Who ECW has been given in return is being kept a secret from the public, but the MDC2 performer will appear in a match at the upcoming Barely Legal PPV a few weeks from Sunday.

Mr. Taylor's diary: For the second time, an incident occurred on the way to a show. This time, it was a minor one. Something about Baraka and Bryan Danielson, and a rental car, or something. I dunno.

The formatting for the PPVs and the TV episodes will be different; since Hardcore TV isn't usually as strong as the PPVs, they will have more minimalistic formatting.

DARK MATCH: Steenerico defeated the team of The Human Squid and Hwoarang in a match that was more meant to build up the enhancement talents.

http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o578/tjlynch40/TEW2016%20ECW%209000-Verse/ECW%20events/ECW_Hardcore_TV_zpsfeixuksh.jpg

"This Is Extreme"

Angle: The Widow and the Gamer

To start off the show, D.Va and Widowmaker had a brief confrontation, with Widowmaker teasing and taunting D.Va, and considering herself superior to the gaming hero. Paul Heyman then appeared and booked a match on the fly, between the two Overwatch operatives, that starts right now.

68

Widowmaker vs. D.Va

The first match starts off strong, with D.Va having a few moments of an advantage over her opponent. However, she ends up having to submit when Widowmaker wraps her legs around the smaller individual and chokes her out with a Figure-Four Necklock.

71

Angle: Fair Share of Failures

Backstage, B. Orchid and Bryan Danielson, both still reeling from their defeats, consider banding together to take down their larger rivals. I can see some good chemistry potentially forming between the two.

67

ECW Television Championship

Kenny Omega © vs. Christopher Daniels

This match was surprisingly a little underwhelming given the talent between these two guys. It's probably mostly based off the fact that it was a heel vs. heel match, and the crowd wasn't completely into it. Kenny Omega defeats Christopher Daniels with the Fisherman's Buster for the win.

61

Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. The Young Bucks

This was a big step-up from the Omega/Daniels match, since both teams were very experienced, the Young Bucks especially. Some high-flying moves, a few Savate kicks, a footful of superkicks from here and there. Rob Van Dam pins Nick Jackson after the Five Star Frog Splash while Sabu kept Matt from getting into the ring.

78 (MATCH OF THE NIGHT!)

Angle: Disrespecting the Tag Team Champions

After the match, RVD grabbed a mic and taunted the tag team champions, NoobSmoke, saying that they have nothing on the ECW originals, and specifically told Smoke that "he's not as high as Rob. Van. Dam.". Naturally, Saibot and Smoke responded by assaulting Van Dam and Sabu, and laying them out in the middle of the ring.

75

Angle: Challenging The Goliaths

With their plan set, Orchid and Danielson went out to the ring while Sabu and RVD were being helped out by medical personnel, and called out the two behemoths in Lesnar and Astaroth, who emerged from the back; Paul Heyman appeared on the entrance video screen on the stage, announcing that Astaroth and Brock Lesnar will indeed have a match against Bryan Danielson and B. Orchid, "right now!" All five people involved in the segment improvised well.

80

MAIN EVENT: Brock Lesnar and Astaroth vs. B. Orchid and Bryan Danielson

This match wasn't the best, surprisingly. This was mainly because Astaroth and Brock didn't work out too well as tag partners; there were a couple blown spots here and there involving a tag-in and double-team maneuvers. However, the match spiraled into a draw when all four competitors got in the ring, and the referee was knocked out of the ring in the crossfire.

73

Angle: Post-Match Brawl

After the bell was rung, the brawl continued for a couple minutes before Astaroth and Brock Lesnar got the upper hand and laid out Orchid and Bryan.

74

Overall: 74

TV Rating: 4.43 (Spike, Nitere G+, Five)

Firstly: I understand the images of D-Bry and Lesnar are a little disproportionate; I'm no expert at poster-making.

Lastly: All the writings on the wall are quotes/terms/phrases used only by characters who are currently on the roster, although that doesn't rule out Bray Wyatt as a future roster member in the near future.

</strong><strong><span style="color:#006400;">72</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Backstage, GM Office</strong></p><p>

Before the intro package played, we go backstage, where Bryan Danielson enters Paul Heyman's office, demanding a match with the World Champion Brock Lesnar, in order to get the upper hand after his brief downfall last week. He demands redemption, and Heyman gives him that chance.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FFFF00;">69</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/o578/tjlynch40/TEW2016%20ECW%209000-Verse/ECW%20events/ECW_Hardcore_TV_zpsfeixuksh.jpg</span></p><p>

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSZ0XK7bpBg" rel="external nofollow">"This Is Extreme"</a></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: We Are The Elite</strong></p><p>

Television Champion Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are the first to come out after the intro video, acting as cocky as ever; Kenny Omega promises to bring the prestige of the Television Championship up, past the World title that Brock Lesnar currently holds.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">48</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ECW Television Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Kenny Omega vs. The Human Squid</strong></p><p>

It's a fairly quick match that Omega is in control of, although the Human Squid has a few bright moments. Omega wins with the Croyt's Wrath.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#808000;">54</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Some Comfort</strong></p><p>

Still reeling from last week, D.Va sits it out this week backstage. Thankfully, she has comfort in fellow young talent Star Butterfly, who offers to help, since she's been booked against Widowmaker tonight. Meanwhile, Widowmaker lurks in the distance, overhearing the conversation. Confident with an easy victory, she says "She has her help... I have mine."</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">52</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Widowmaker vs. Star Butterfly</strong></p><p>

There wasn't too much of an equal battle, given Widowmaker's advantage in both size and performance. D.Va was given a chance to watch from ringside, at the commentary table with Joey Styles and Nostalgia Critic, but victory wasn't on her side as Star comes up on the wrong end of the Figure Four Necklock and taps out, giving Widowmaker the win.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">68</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Post-Match</strong></p><p>

During the match, a blonde-haired woman stood out as noticeable in the front row, near where D.Va sat at the commentator's booth. Almost immediately after the end of the match, the woman jumped the guardrail and took the Korean gamer down, kicking and stomping her in the face. She then applied a cross-armbar on her at ringside, while Widowmaker kept her legs wrapped around Star's neck until she passed out. Much like last week, it was Widowmaker with a victory over D.Va, although in a more physical sense than last time.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#8B0000;">29</span></strong><strong> (Jesus, that's disappointing)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: RVD Interview</strong></p><p>

Rob Van Dam talks about his match tonight with Noob Saibot, and his and Sabu's feud with NoobSmoke that was sparked from last week in the premiere of Hardcore TV.</p><p>

"That Noob guy, his name fits in this sense, in the Land of Extreme that I became a legend in; he can't keep up with the <em>Whole. F'n. Show.</em>"</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">67</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rob Van Dam vs. Noob Saibot</strong></p><p>

This was a pretty satisfying match between the Brother of Shadow and Mr. Saturday Night. Noob had significantly more control than RVD, but he ended up going down when Sabu interfered and threw a chair at Noob while he was on the top rope, while the referee had his back turned. This gave Rob Van Dam time to send him across the ring with a Frankensteiner, following it up with a Five Star Frog Splash across the ring for the winning pin.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#008000;">80</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: B. Orchid Interview</strong></p><p>

B. Orchid gives her thoughts on her upcoming match with Baraka coming up next, threatening to kick his teeth down his throat and make him choke.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#006400;">70</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>B. Orchid vs. Baraka</strong></p><p>

This was a highly competitive contest; at one point, Baraka scratches Orchid's face, and cuts her forehead open, resulting in some drops of blood being spilt. This further encouraged Orchid to amp up the fury, ultimately resulting in her getting the victory by stomping Baraka's face into the mat and getting the pin.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#008000;">77</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bryan Danielson vs. Brock Lesnar</strong></p><p>

This was a great match, great being the average for Danielson's matches. Kicks, punches and suplexes among other attacks happening all over the ring. However, while Danielson kept his pace against the Beast, he still managed to lose when Astaroth interfered, while the referee was down due to a suicide dive from Danielson that caught both Lesnar and the ref at ringside. Astaroth hit a devastating powerbomb, rattling Danielson to the core, and Lesnar re-entered the ring, got the pin, and won the match due to scumbag tactics.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#008000;">82</span></strong><strong> (MATCH OF THE NIGHT!)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Post Match</strong></p><p>

After the match, came to Bryan's side, threatening Astaroth and Lesnar with her stun batons in an attempt to prevent them from causing any further damage. The two behemoths decided to leave Orchid be, feeling that they've done enough damage tonight.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">61</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Overall: </strong><strong><span style="color:#008000;">78</span></strong></p><p>

<strong>TV Rating: 4.49 (Spike, Nitere G+, Five)</strong></p>

<strong>Kim Wu vs. Marty Scurll</strong></p><p>

We start off with a match in the Television Championship division between the Girl with the Dragon Spirit and the Villain. Just a simple midcard endeavor between two competitors with a good skill set. Kim manages to keep Scurll laid out long enough for the pinfall after a devastating Dragon Kick from the top rope.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">63</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Kenny Omega Interview</strong></p><p>

As usual, Omega expresses his ego through his TV title reign, promising nothing but victory for the future, while the Young Bucks act as his hypemen. Together the trio sound off with "We are the Elite!" Kind of simplistic, but a decent catchphrase that might help with their performance on the mic.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">52</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ECW Television Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Kenny Omega vs. Mr. Taylor</strong></p><p>

Much like the Human Squid last week, I worked well working with Omega, but overall it was Omega all the way. Still kinda sore from the Croyt's Wrath that put me away within minutes.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">52</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Some Necessary Exposition</strong></p><p>

We go to Joey Styles and the Nostalgia Critic, who begin to talk about the rivalry involving the teams of D.Va/Star Butterfly and Widowmaker and her recently-revealed partner Nina Williams. What we know about Nina is that she is simply a hired gun enlisted by Talon to make sure that Widowmaker always has an ace up her sleeve against D.Va and Star in and out of the ring. The last scene before the commercial break is of Widowmaker and Nina making their way backstage, approaching the stage...</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">51</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Let Me In There!</strong></p><p>

Immediately after the commercial break, we see Star enter Paul Heyman's office, wanting to be at D.Va's side for her match tonight. Heyman allows Star permission to be at ringside tonight. Nothing else needs to be discussed of this simple segment, besides the pretty good projection of worry from Star, makes this storyline feel all the more real.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">69</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nina Williams vs. D.Va</strong></p><p>

This is Ms. Williams' debut match, and by the standards of matches in this size of a company, it was a pretty serviceable match; while D.Va has the speed advantage, Nina excels in power and submission skill. Star and Widowmaker were at ringside, and when the match reached the end, with Nina locking D.Va into the same armbar submission hold from last week, Widowmaker prevented Butterfly from interfering by charging into her, causing her to get knocked face-first into a pole, and promptly KO'd her, as D.Va tapped out to the cross-armbreaker. Nina wins her debut match with one hell of a submission.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">63</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Post-Match</strong></p><p>

Recovering from the submission, rolled out of the ring, and came to the now-bleeding Star's unconscious body, as Nina and Widowmaker made their way up the ramp, taunting to their opposing forces.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFA500;">43</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Meanwhile, Backstage...</strong></p><p>

We go backstage pretty quickly after the previous match, to see Rob Van Dam and Sabu share some odd, fairly humorous banter with the odd couple of Kevin Steen and El Generico. Between Generico's intentionally bad Spanish and Sabu randomly pointing to the ceiling from time to time, the segment did well to get the crowd ready for their next match.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">58</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Kevin Steen and El Generico vs. Noob Saibot, Smoke, Dr. Faust and Baraka</strong></p><p>

It was the Canadians and Extremists vs. one hell of a odd quartet between the dark and intimidating ECW Tag Team Champions, the Bagheaded Doctor and the Tarkatan, and it was a great match overall. Both sides had their own fair share of spots; the ending of the match had Kevin Steen lay Baraka out with the Package Piledriver, before tagging in RVD, who finished the Tarkatan off with the Five Star Frog Splash, getting the victory via pinfall.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#006400;">73</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Bryan Danielson Promo</strong></p><p>

In relation to the main event match tonight, Bryan Danielson tells Astaroth that even the biggest of men have flaws that are exposed when faced against the people who helped Bryan during the Yes Movement, and that there's nothing that he nor Lesnar can do about it.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FFFF00;">63</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Astaroth vs. B. Orchid</strong></p><p>

In what people can consider the best match in the company so far, the golem and the disavowed agent tore the roof off the Outersphere with power and high spots galore; however, Astaroth, despite being left knocked down more often that Orchid did, managed to get the pinfall off a huge powerbomb; near the end of the match, Brock Lesnar slowly made his way down the ramp to watch.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#00FF00;">86</span></strong><strong> (MATCH OF THE NIGHT!)</strong></p><p>

<strong><em>This match was the new personal best for the Top 100 best matches of the company, beating out Bryan Danielson vs. Brock Lesnar the week prior by four points.</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ANGLE: Post-Match</strong></p><p>

After the match, the ECW World Champion entered the ring and kicked Orchid while she was down; however, Bryan Danielson quickly prevented any further damage, as he ran down with a steel chair and forced Lesnar to get out of the ring after a few hard chairshots to the head; think back to when Jeff Hardy smacked the hell out of Brock Lesnar with a chair back in 2002, and imagine that being replicated through this segment. Afterwards, Bryan and Astaroth had a brief staredown, before the golem with the ax exited, leaving Bryan in the ring, satisfied with his work.</p><p>

<em>Financially, the first month of ECW has been a fairly successful one; in addition to the 5 million that Paul Heyman put in for the backing of this company, we have received a profit of about $560,000.
