For the next few minutes they manage to hold onto this opportunity, keeping Wolfe on the outside of the ring and utilizing the ring post and steel steps to wear the powerful Wolfe down. Wolfe counters, though, and uses his strength to reposition Steele onto his shoulders. Without giving the Clarinda-native any time to react, Wolfe strikes with a Samoan drop that saps the energy of both opponents. Before he can get to ten, though, a charging Bryant Hobbs jumps onto the ring apron. Wolfe can barely react when he is greeted with a steel chair across his back. The pain causes Wolfe to fall flat onto his back onto the mat, while Lane reprimands Hobbs. Steele sees the opportunity before him, and climbs up onto the top rope. The crowd boos vehemently as Steele soars through the air… and onto the canvas below!
