The Future of the Zone

by Cliff Anderson

When I started CZCW over 25 years ago it was really for one reason, to give wrestling fans fun. In that time we have seen a faster product in American wrestling. The “big leagues” have taken our talent with guys like Marc Speed, Jimmy Foxx and Mikey James getting TV time as well as Rocky Golden, Sammy Bach and Valiant winning titles. We’ve left a heck of a mark on our industry and for that I could not be more proud.

In 1992, 23 years ago I had my first child. We named him Jackson Anderson after my wife’s grandfather. He grew up with the Zone in his life from day one, and once a month I was a very distracted father. Despite these hurtles Jack graduated valedictorian. When he graduated with a degree in Computer Sciences he jumped in as a programmer with Allen Packer’s Reverie. This was around the time Reverie got into wrestling and Jack did a majority of the coding that allowed for streaming and on demand playback of the product.

It is with great pride that I announce today’s the day those two lives intersect. I have sold my entire interest in CZCW to my son Jack Anderson. With his knowledge and financial backing he will be setting forth on a path he brought to me late last month. This exciting new direction promises to again show the innovation that the Zone is known for and leave another mark on our industry.

To our future, and to the Zone.

<p>This is a solid start if I may say so myself. </p><p> </p><p>

American Cobras vs <strong>Going Coastal</strong></p><p>

<em>I always go with CLM & Frankie (Not Perez) as heels but I saw Xendarii use them as faces. Either way, I'm backing them to win since Storm Spillane is the weakest of the four men in the ring.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Super Ninja</strong> vs Miguel Rivera</p><p>

<em>Straight-forward second hour of RAW match tbh. Rivera to be competitive, but Fumi to see it out.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>In both of my CZCW saves, I lost both of these guys. Maybe you're lucky enough only to lose Donnie J?</em></p>

CZCW Coast to Coast

Episode 1: Head Fox in Charge

The show opens to a generic rock beat and a flyover of Grissom Arena. The camera moves inside to show an empty ring with empty stands around it. Finally, backstage, is the office of the new general manager in a stylish suit and iconic mask. Fox Mask turns and smiles at the camera.

“Welcome to the Coastal Zone.”

-52

Next we right into the action with Going Coastal taking on their new rivals the American Cobras. California Love Machine and Marvel Malloy go all out for a good 8 minutes, showcasing what the majority of the Zone have to offer. In the end Storm Spillane ends up pinning Frankie-Boy Fernandes.

- 53

Backstage again in Fox Mask’s office and he has Donnie J and Masked Cougar sitting across from him. Cougar is paying close attention but Donnie is laid back with his feet on Fox’s desk. Fox Mask tells them his new job is to make the Coastal Zone’s new show a success so he booked the main event of Donnie J and Masked Cougar. Cougar says he’ll give it all he’s got and Donnie just scoffs saying he’ll put on a good show.

- 50

Back in the ring Super Ninja is introduced. In a puff of smoke Ninja appears and starts high fiving fans. Already in the ring is Miguel Rivera, a feisty young fighter. Ninja outclasses the young Rivera in a quick bout that showcases Super Ninjas speedy strikes.

- 49

A quick vignette appears showing Frankie Perez. He is in a dojo and creative commons hip hop is playing in the background. Perez tosses jobbers around the dojo and finishes a final one with a knee strike. The screen states: Frankie Perez, Next Week.

- 42

After commercial the main event begins. Donnie J is his usual cool self and Cougar is bouncing around excited. The match begins with Donnie countering most of Cougar’s fast paced offense. Donnie himself starts making moves himself, leading to Cougar outside the ring and a sweet through the second rope tope from Donnie J. After the dive Donnie poses at the announce desk giving Cougar time to recover.

Cougar takes the advantage and begins getting solid offense in. Donnie is having trouble slipping away from Cougar’s big offense after taking shots and is forced to slide out of the ring. The distraction works and Donnie gets in some set up offense. However when he moves to hit the Death on Miami Beach Cougar whips Donnie into the ropes. Cougar Pounce! Cougar goes to the top…630! (I am Cougar Hear Me Roar!)

New champion!

CZCW Coast to Coast

Episode 2: Thank You, Masked Cougar

The show opens to a generic rock beat and a flyover of Grissom Arena. A quick shot of Cougar hitting I Am Cougar and pinning Donnie J is spliced in. We then move backstage to the "Fox Den" office with Fox Mask wearing another nice suit. Donnie J bursts into the room and tells Fox how terrible this week has been, how he cannot relax without his title. He demands a rematch with Masked Cougar tonight.

Fox Mask allows Donnie to vent before saying he really can't do that. Donnie will get his rematch when he earns it, but Super Ninja's been on a roll, so he gets the title shot tonight. Donnie snarls, but walks out.

- 54

Tag team veterans Rich and Famous come out to a bitter Zone reception. Flash Sparrow on the other hand get little to no reaction, as the speedy duo haven't been on a tear of late. Sparrow starts with Jordan and is able to get things going for a few minutes. However an early attempt at a birdbrain buster is reversed and that's what Jordan and Idol need. Rich & Famous showcase double team moves as they seperate first Sparrow then AmFlash leading to an elementary victory.

- 53

In the hallways Fox Mask crosses paths with the Guru. Fox Mask grabs Guru's arm to stop him and the two exchange a tense stare. After a pregnant moment Fox Mask just tells Guru that he knows his games, and they will not be tolerated here. Guru just smiles and walks away.

- 51

Before the match begins the announcers put over Fox Mask putting the tag champs against each other. Jaguar and Tigre act as a team for the early going, taking out Weasel first then focusing on Perez. With crisp tag team moves the Wild Cats are able to keep Perez down, but AAW slithers in and chop blocks Tigre in the back of the knee. Perez and Jaguar team up to take down Weasel but just as quick Jaguar is taken out with a stiff kick. Tigre looks to get up, but a kick combination from Frankie Perez ending with a roundhouse kick to the knee that was chop blocked downs him. Perez then locks in the P-Clutch on AAW and secures the win.

- 54

Super Ninja comes out first with a puff of smoke and some nunchucks. Dating back to last years he's on a big winning streak and the crowds on fire for him. Masked Cougar comes out with unlimited energy and the crowd goes crazy. The bell rings after the championship bells and whistles and Cougar races at Ninja.

The two exchange snappy counter based offense at the start of the match with neither really getting the better of it. Cougar eventually is able to hit a couple consecuative running forearms to begin his high flying moves. He goes for a Cougar Pounce but Ninja flips out of the way and Cougar turns into a Ninja (Pele) Kick. Super Ninja begins running around the ring hitting leg lariats and running knees on the reeling Cougar. Ninja goes to set up the Ninja Strike (Pump Kick) but Cougar slips under and suplexes the Ninja! Cougar goes up to the top...I Am Cougar Hear Me More!

NO! Ninja moves out of the way and Cougar crashes! Cougar slowly climbs up...Ninja Strike! 1! 2! 3!

New champ!
