NYCW Diary (Fleisch Aug16)

THE DAY SPORTS ENTERTAINEMENT CHANGED FOREVER!

On July 11th 2016, Ultimate Fighting Championship was sold by Zuffa. Lorenzo Fertitta, Frank Fertitta III and Dana White sold their parts in UFC to WME-ING. This was the end of a reign by Zuffa over the Mixed Martial Arts. Most people thought it would be the end of Zuffa in the sports business, but that was before the big announcement on July 25th.

Dana White is announcing that he is now in charge of a new company that will feature pro wrestling. The New York City Wrestling promotion is opening and Dana White is going to be in charge of the day to day operation but he will not be alone… Paul Heyman is leaving WWE and starting a brand new adventure with NYCW, he will be taking care of the wrestling creative.

SOME STARS ARE GOING TO NYCW

The first signing for NYCW is none other than Brock Lesnar!!! The beast is leaving WWE to be part of the adventure of this new promotion. The relationship between Lesnar and both Heyman and White was the reason for this change, but also it was announced that Lesnar is part owner of the company with 2 other superstars to be named later…

When you look at superstars that had bad blood with WWE management, look no further than the next 2 owners of NYCW. The Best in the World CM Punk and the swiss superman Claudio Castagnoli. CM Punk left WWE at the beginning of 2014 after problems with management and Castagnoli was held back for most of his run with WWE and was fed up with the situation. They both decided to help create the ultimate challenger to WWE.

ULTIMATE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING

WWE has NXT, now NYCW has UCW… The new way of creating stars changed over the last couple of years with the influence of NXT on the wrestling business. NYCW knew they had to do something to be able to sign and train great new comers and create new stars for the future. The training center will be in Chicago, Illinois and trainers will guide the youngsters to stardom.

NYCW on SPIKE TV

The show that will compete with WWE RAW and SmackDown Live will be NYCW Wrestling and will be broadcasts on SPIKE TV every Friday nights on Prime Time.
