Playoff Team Selections

In the 4-team playoff mod, how are teams selected to play for the National championship.

 

I rarely get the top 4 ranked team playing (usually top 3 and a lesser light). In my current season, the teams in the playoffs are ranked #1, #6, #9, #10.

 

The #2, #3 and #4 ranked teams are playing in different bowls and not for the National Championship.

It's the top 4 teams in the GDCS ranking.

The next season is was #1, #2, #3 and #5 based open GDCS rankings.

 

Not a big deal, but wondering why this is happening (and if it happens for others).

Make sure you are looking at the right poll. There are four in the game (from what I recall) and it is not the default one (which it probably should be). I use a 16 team so haven't noticed any issues.
