Our match this week comes from the NWA in 1988.

The Midnight Express and the Fantastics had a hot feud in World Class Championship Wrestling in the mid-1980's. The feud was re-ignited in Jim Crockett's NWA World Championship Wrestling in the late 1980's.

This is their primo battle from the first Clash of the Champions for the U.S. Tag Team Titles.

(In-ring: Craig Johnson.

Johnson: "Welcome to 'Mayhem'!"

Crowd cheered.

Johnson: "I'm Craig Johnson.

"With me right now is Rob Russen of the WCW Match-Making Committee."

Russen was in a suit and received very little crowd response.

Johnson: "Rob, we hear you have some news for us regarding the match at 'Spring Breakout' between Ric Flair and Paul Orndorff."

Russen: "Craig, as we saw last week here on the program, Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko have both volunteered to be special referees for the Ric Flair-Paul Orndorff match this Sunday.

"Well, we on the match-making committtee have discussed this matter in great detail. We've looked at it from every angle. We've also had conference calls with Flair and Orndorff about this matter. Both men have agreed to having Hall and Zbysko work as the special referees for the match."

Johnson: "There was enough intrigue heading into this match between Flair and Orndorff. And now to add Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko to the mix as the special referees only adds to the drama."

Russen: "It's going to be interesting, Craig, I can tell you that. But I need to be clear about something. All other WCW wrestlers and managers are still barred from ringside for the match. Hall and Zbysko are the exception to the rule for obvious reasons.

"And there's one more thing I need to add."

Johnson: "Go ahead."

Russen: "There will be a coin toss at 'Spring Breakout' to decide who will be the referee in the ring and who winds up as the referee on the floor."

Johnson: "You fans just heard it. Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko will be the special referees for the match at 'Spring Breakout' between Ric Flair and Paul Orndorff.

"Tony and Mark, take it away.")

(Announcers Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden welcomed viewers to a special 90-minute final edition of 'Mayhem' before 'Spring Breakout'. Then ran down the program: JUST SIGNED! Slater was dressed in sunglasses, full military camo, including a camo jacket and flat-top camo cap of a military man of low rank and his ring boots. He had the title slung over his shoulder. Sherri was wearing a one piece camo party dress that barely went past her woman parts, green hose and camo colored heels. She had her face painted camo-style. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed in.

Slater started marching around in the ring in a mocking, Benny Hill-like fashion and then stopped in the middle of the ring and saluted by placing the hand flat, palm up on the top of his head as Sherri applauded her man and laughed.

Slater dominated the match and toyed with Jerry Allen and had Allen pinned on a couple of occasions but pulled Allen's shoulders off the mat before the ref's hand slapped the mat a third time. Slater put Allen out of his misery by finally hitting Allen with his front Russian legsweep finisher and scoring the pinfall victory.

WINNER: Slater - Pinfall - Front Russian Legsweep - 3:40)

(Post-Match Interview:

As the ref raised Slater's hand in victory and gave Slater the Tru TV Championship belt, ring announcer Craig Johnson made his way into the ring. Sherri also climbed into the ring and applauded and hugged her man.

Johnson: "Dick Slater, this is really offensive to veterans every..."

Slater: "Sgt. Slater reporting for duty!"

Slater again did the salute on top of the head as Sherri laughed some more and cheered on her man.

Johnson: "This is really disgusting. You've really reached a new low here, Slater."

Slater: "I stormed Omaha, Nebraska beach! I'm a veturn! You people need to bow down and kiss my combat boots when I walk by! Also, when do I start getting my free lifetime meals at Denny's 'cuz I'm a vet?!"

Sherri: "That's Grand Slams everyday for no charge because of Sgt. Slater's distinguished military career!"

Slater: "One more thing! As a veturn who fought with the Beetle Bailey Brigade in the Battle of the Casinos in Reno, and I bled in that one after getting hit with one of those plastic buckets full of coins in the Silver Legacy Hotel slot machine area, I also want free gas for life!"

Johnson shook his head in disgust.

Johnson (disgusted): "This is vulgar and cruel..."

Sherri: "Sgt. Slater, I think you'll get free gas every time you eat at Denny's!"

The pair started laughing.

Johnson (even more disgusted): "Sgt. Slaughter sent in another video and he has a personal message for you, Slater, just five days before you defend the Tru TV Championship against him at 'Spring Breakout'."

Slater: "Sgt. Slaughter! Bet he gets free gas for his service!"

Sherri: "Hahahahaha!"

Sarge was standing in front of a huge American flag in street clothes and a black baseball cap with 'USA' in red, white and blue lettering across the front. He had a mic.

Sarge: "Dick Slater, this message is for you.

"This is the last recorded message from me before we step into the ring at 'Spring Breakout' and everything becomes very real again for both of us. The time for talking is over.

"You're a disgrace, Slater, to the Tru TV Championship. You aren't worthy of that belt. You're sneaky. You're slimy. You're a cheater. You're an all-around scumbag of the highest order.

"At 'Spring Breakout', I'm calling our match a 'Divorce Court' match. Because my goal is to separate you from the Tru TV Championship.

"I keep looking at the clock, counting down the time until we clash. I haven't laced 'em up for three months thanks to you, Slater. But that all ends soon. And it's gonna be too soon for you.

"Dick Slater! I'm gunning for you! And I can think of no better revenge than beating your ass and becoming the new Tru TV Champion in the process! See you Sunday!"

Video faded to black.

Johnson: "Your response to that, Dick?"

Slater: "That's Sgt. Dick, I mean Slater, to you, maggot!

"I have warned the members of the championship committee that they might have blood on their hands after this match is over at 'Spring Breakout'! They will be responsible if I injure Slaughter a third time and put an end to his career!

"The championship committee wanted this match because they know it will sell tickets and pay-per-view buys! Lost in all this is they may cost a man his career and he might just wind up in a wheel chair when I'm finished with him this time!

"You wanna blame somebody for a man being left in a broken body in the ring?! Then you blame the WCW Championship Committee! It's because of their naked greed that this match is going down in the first place and they're the ones who will have a maimed Sgt. Slaughter on their consciences for the rest of their lives! Hope the extra money this match generates is worth it for them!"

Slater and Sherri left the ring, dropped to the floor and headed back up the aisle to boos.

Johnson: "Dick Slater defends the Tru TV Championship against Sgt. Slaughter this Sunday at 'Spring Breakout'. We'll see what happens.")

(Announcers discussed Slater mocking Slaughter and Slaughter's last words before their match at 'Spring Breakout'. Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana were in street clothes. Both had mics. They slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring. The pair climbed into the ring and briefly acknowledged the crowd.

Theme from the original 'Hawaii Five-O'

Each wrestler was in street clothes and had his title belt slung over his left shoulder. Both had mics. They made their way to the ring and climbed in and strutted around holding the belts aloft as Los Lobos looked on.

They then waved the belts in the faces of Manny and Tito. Manny wanted to fight Muraco right then and there but Tito kept Manny at bay.

Muraco: "If you two have anything to say to me and Jimmy then you'd better say it now because this is your last chance."

Manny: "I got something to say, Muraco."

Muraco: "Why am I not surprised."

Manny: "It all comes down to Sunday! 'Spring Breakout' is our last chance to win those tag team titles! It would be a shame to see you guys holding those belts past March 4th!"

Muraco: "You two better be prepared for some serious disappointment. Me and Jimmy have dominated these belts for the last 15 months and we're gonna be dominating them well past 'Spring Breakout'.

"As far as we're concerned, you guys have had too many title shots already. You've yet to pry the belts from our hands. Nothing's gonna change on Sunday. It's gonna be the same old song. Los Lobos puts up a fight but doesn't get the job done...again.

"The great news is that we won't have to face you again as long as we're the champs. We'll finally be fed other contenders to knock off."

Tito: "We have had you guys on the ropes the last three times we've wrestled you. You saved the titles by the skin of your teeth..."

Muraco: "And we're still the champions. That's all that matters. Whether we retain the belts in a dominant fashion or just barely escape with the belts still in our hands doesn't matter. This isn't college football where style points are important in winning. In wrestling, the bottom line is walking out of the ring with these babies."

Muraco patted the title belt on his shoulder.

Manny: "You better like the feel of those belts for the next five days! Because after that our cage match you might only be looking at them from a distance!"

Snuka: "Are you guys even listening to Don here? You're not winning the tag team titles this Sunday. You're walking into the cage without the belts and you're walking out of it without them.

"WCW keeps giving you chance after chance to win the titles because they think you're the team that is best qualified to do it. Now, you're down to your last chance to get it done...and it's just not gonna happen. Then, WCW will be forced to look elsewhere for the next pretenders to the throne."

Tito: "Three seconds are all that stand between us and those belts! We would already be the champs if it wasn't for cheating by you two!

"Now, we're gonna be locked in side a steel cage! 15-feet high! You're not gonna have the chance to do something illegal to save your bacon this time!"

Muraco: "The longest three seconds anywhere in the world are when you're trying to pin someone in a wrestling match.

"Oh! And please don't mention bacon to me. I'm Jewish. But you wouldn't know that because I'm not wearing my beanie thing on my head with the propeller on top."

Snuka started to chuckle.

Muraco: "And one more thing. You used the word 'illegal'. The only thing illegal in our match at 'Spring Breakout' will be if some of your border-busting relatives get involved."

Manny: "Muraco! My offer still stands to meet me outside in the parking lot and we'll go one-on-one!"

Crowd cheered.

Muraco: "Tonight?! You wanna do it tonight?!"

Manny: "Why not?! Let's do this!"

Snuka patted on the shoulder and the two walked away from Los Lobos. Muraco and Snuka had their backs turned to Los Lobos and spoke off-mic with each other. Snuka did most of the talking and Muraco shook his head in agreement on more than one occasion. The pair turned and walked back over to Los Lobos.

Muraco: "I'll agree to the fight on one condition."

Manny rolled his eyes and shook his head.

Manny: "What's that?"

Muraco: "Since we're tag teams, we want all four of us involved in the fight in the parking lot."

Tito quickly whispered something in Manny's ear.

Manny: "You got it! We'll see you two in the parking lot later tonight!"

Snuka: "You certainly will."

The two teams briefly glared at one another and then the champs left the ring, dropped to the floor and headed back up the aisle to mainly boos but also come cheers as Los Lobos looked on from the ring.)

(Announcers discussed Los Lobos and champs Snuka and Muraco preparing to meet each other later tonight for a fight in the parking lot. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson in the WCW Interview Center.

"Joining me right now are Ric Flair and Larry Zbysko."

Flair and Zbysko walked into the interview area in their ring attire.

Hudson: "Ric and Larry, tonight you are facing Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall in what has come to be known as the 'Odd Couple' tag team match'.

"On Sunday, it's gonna be Ric Flair vs. Paul Orndorff at 'Spring Breakout' with Scott Hall and you, Larry Zbysko, as the special referees.

"But, before we get to Sunday, the wrestling world is wondering if you two can work together as team tonight?"

Flair: "The man you need to ask about that is my partner here!

"Zbysko, let me tell you something, pal! You see that wall over there?!"

Zbysko turned and briefly looked at the wall and then turned back to Flair and nodded in the affirmative.

Flair: "I'm gonna put you through that wall if you so much as look at me the wrong way in this match! You'd better be working with me and not against me! Am I clear?!"

Zbysko: "Clear as day!

"Ric, the only way you're gonna know if I'm truly on your side is when we go to the ring tonight! I'm gonna prove to you that I am 100 percent in your corner! I wanna beat Hall and Orndorff as much, if not more, than you do!

"I'm splitsville with Scott as a friend and ally! He wrecked our friendship when he sided with Paul Orndorff! You're in the right here, Ric! Orndorff's a creep and is doing something shady! He's working against you! And Scott aligning with him is unforgivable in my book!"

Hudson: "Ric, you're facing Paul Orndorff this Sunday and Hall and Zbysko are gonna be the referees. Your thoughts on that match?"

Flair: "It's like this!"

Flair pointed at Zbysko.

Flair: "I don't really trust you! I don't trust Scott Hall! And I don't trust Paul Orndorff!

"Zbysko, I've threatened to put you through a wall if you screw with me in any fashion during the match tonight!

"But, if you do anything to cost me the match on Sunday..."

Flair got right in Zbysko's face and suddenly became eerily calm.

Flair: "I'm gonna lock you in the figure 4 and hold you in it until I hear your leg snap in half."

Zbysko gulped hard.

Zbysko (low-key): "Looks like I have a lot to prove to you, Ric. And I'm gonna start proving it tonight."

Flair and Zbysko looked at each other as the segment faded to black.)

(Announcers discussed the interview with Zbysko and Flair. Said the 'Odd Couple' tag team match was coming up after the break.)

(Commercials)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "We are back in the WCW Interview Center.

"My guests at this time are Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall."

Hall and Orndorff walked into the interview area in their ring attire.

Hudson: "Gentlemen, you are about to head out to that ring and battle Ric Flair and Larry Zbsyko in what's being called the 'Odd Couple' tag team match.

"I'll ask you the same question that I asked Flair and Zbysko. Can you two work together as a team?"

Orndorff: "Scott and I have been preparing for this match together all week. There are some issues between us. But, we've worked hard to put our personal differences aside for this match tonight."

Hall: "Orndorff's right, man! We may not trust or even like each other! But we have to go into that ring and do our job as professionals. And as professionals, you try and win the match! You do what's best for the team!

"And Zbysko!"

Hall slapped the back of his right hand into his open left hand.

Hall: "That's what I'm gonna do to you in this match, chico!"

Hudson: "Paul, you're facing Ric Flair on Sunday at 'Spring Breakout' with Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko acting as the special referees. Will the trust factor come into play in five days?"

Orndorff: "There's a trust issue between all parties involved, Hudson! I don't totally trust this man standing here with me!"

Orndorff pointed at Hall.

Orndorff: "But he's my tag team partner tonight and he's one of the refs in my match with Flair on Sunday! I've gotta trust that both Hall and Zbysko will officiate the match fairly at 'Spring Breakout'! If I'm gonna beat Ric Flair, then I want to do it cleanly! You hear me, Scott?!"

Hall: "You don't have to worry about me, man! I'll be fair! And the best man will win the match on Sunday!

"The guy you need to be concerned about is Zbysko! He's so biased in Flair's favor that he might try and help Flair win the match! But I'm not gonna be doing that, man! I'm Mr. Fair and Square!"

Orndorff: "I'm gonna hold you to your word, Scott! You'd better call the match just like you said you're going to!"

Hall: "Trust me, 'Mr. Wonderful', the best man is gonna win the match!"

Orndorff got in Hall's face.

Orndorff (coolly): "He'd better."

Hall and Orndorff stared at each other as the segment ended.)

Match 2 ('Odd Couple' Tag Team Match)

'Nature Boy' Ric Flair & 'Living Legend' Larry Zbysko vs. 'Bad Guy' Scott Hall & 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff

('Also Sprach Zarathustra'

Zbysko was in his black ring jacket with 'Living Legend' written in gold lettering on the back, black tights and black boots with 'LZ' in gold lettering on the outside of each boot. Flair was in his red sequined robe with 'Nature Boy' written across the back. He was in his red tights and red boots with 'RF' in white lettering on the outside of each boot. The pair climbed into the ring and were all business.

'There's No Easy Way Out'

Orndorff was in his red robe with black sleeves, red tights with 'Mr. #1derful' written on the back and red boots with white trim. Hall was wearing his black satin vest with a blood print running down it, black tights with a blood print running down them and black boots with a blood print running down them. Hall also had a toothpick in his mouth. The pair climbed into the ring and briefly played to the crowd.

Orndorff and Hall spoke calmly to each other about who would start the match for their team. Zbysko and Flair were another story. The pair had a brief, heated discussion with one another before it was decided that Flair would start for his team.

Ref called for the bell.

Hall started for his team.

The two men came out of their corners and Hall flicked his toothpick in Flair's face. The two then engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up and Flair quickly gained the upper hand and locked Hall in a side headlock and started popping Hall in the head with punches as the crowd cheered. Flair released Hall and Hall stumbled off holding his head. Flair grabbed Hall, whipped Hall into the ropes and caught Hall coming off with a big chop to the chest. Hall crashed to the mat. Hall got to his knees and Flair came up behind Hall, caught Hall under the chin and popped Hall with a series of rights to the side to the head. Flair snapped Hall up, whipped Hall into the ropes and looked to catch Hall coming off with a backdrop but Hall stunned Flair with a kick to the chest. Flair shot up and stumbled back. Hall moved in and nailed Flair with a a series of head shots followed by a discus punch to the head. Flair crashed to the mat. Hall briefly shook out Flair's earlier offensive as Flair started getting to his feet. Flair up and Hall caught Flair with a kick to the gut followed by a fallaway slam. Flair down and hurting. Hall tagged in Orndorff. Crowd buzzing as Orndorff hit the ring as Flair got to a hand and knee and Orndorff stomped Flair in the head, pulled Flair up, whipped Flair into the ropes and caught Flair coming off with a clothesline that dropped Flair. Flair slowly up and Orndorff grabbed Flair and nailed Flair with a bodyslam. Orndorff mounted the middle buckle and came off with a knee drop to the chest that connected. Orndorff reached down and started pulling Flair up when Flair stunned Orndorf with an eye rake. Orndorff grabbed his eyes and was staggering around. Ref briefly reprimanded Flair. Flair told the ref to go to hell. Flair moved in and popped Orndorff with a head shot and then laid into Orndorff with a series of chest chops as the fans cheered. Flair suplexed Orndorff and nailed Orndorff with an elbow smash to the chest. Flair up, backed into the ropes and came off with a knee drop to the head that connected. Flair for the cover. 1...2... Orndorff kicked out. Flair snapped Orndorff up and slammed Orndorff's head into the top buckle in Flair's and Zbysko's corner. Flair tagged in Zbysko. Orndorff spun around in the corner and Flair popped Orndorff with one last chop. Zbysko hit the ring and popped Orndorff with a spin kick to the chest. Orndorff staggered out of the corner next to the ropes. Zbysko went to whip Orndorff into the ropes but Orndorf grabbed the top rope and wouldn't let go. Zbysko caught Orndorff with a knee to the gut and Orndorff lost his grip on the rope. Zbysko whipped Orndorff into the ropes and caught Orndorff coming off with a dropkick. Orndorff crashed back to the mat.

Zbysko pointed at Orndorff and was picked up on a mic:

Zbysko: "This is gonna be you in a minute, Scott!"

Zbysko snapped Orndorff up and went to whip Orndorff into the ropes but Orndorff reversed and caught Zbysko coming off with a flying shoulder tackle. Both men down. Ref counting. Both men to their feet and Zbysko went to punch Orndorff but Orndorff blocked the punch try, stunned Zbysko with a head shot, reached down and pulled Zbysko's legs out from under him and Zbysko crashed to the mat. Orndorff then swung Zbysko around by the legs in the leg swing. Orndorff released Zbysko and Zbysko crashed to the mat. Hall begged for Orndorff to tag him in. Orndorff obliged. Hall hit the ring as Zbysko was getting up and Hall blasted Zbysko with a hard slap upside the head. Zbysko stunned. Hall grabbed Zbysko in a side headlock and backed into the corner and nailed Zbysko with a running bulldog. Hall for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Flair hit the ring and stomped Hall in the back to break up the pin try. Orndorff hit the ring and hit Flair with a head shot and Flair responded with a chest chop and Flair and Orndorff engaged in a brief punch-chop exchange before the ref was able to restore order. As the ref was distracted getting Flair and Orndorff back to their corners, Hall was up and Zbysko was on his knees. Hall moved in to pulled Zbysko up and Zbysko made Hall sing soprano with a low-blow. Hall crashed to the mat holding his goods. Flair and Orndorff back to their corners and the ref turned his attention back to the match. Zbysko up and stomped away on the downed Hall. Zbysko snapped up Hall and whipped Hall into Flair's and Zbysko's corner. Zbysko tagged in Flair. Zbysko gut a gut punch in on Hall before leaving the ring. Flair came in, immediately climbed up on the middle buckle and started popping Hall in the head with a series of punches. Hall countered by grabbing Flair around the waist and popping Flair with an inverted atomic drop. Both men down. Flair now grabbing his nuts and singing soprano. Ref counting. Hall up just before Flair and Hall lunged over and tagged in Orndorff. Orndorff hit the ring and stunned Flair with a kick to the gut and then hoisted Flair up and blasted Flair with a piledriver. Many in the crowd popped. Orndorff covered Flair and hooked the leg. 1...2... Zbysko hit the ring and stomped Orndorff in the back to break up the pin try. Orndorff up as Zbysko stood in the ring. Orndorff moved on Zbysko and Zbysko backed into the corner. Orndorfff started choking Zbysko as many in the crowd cheered. Ref over trying to break up the fray. Flair recovered enough to get to his feet and charged up behind Orndorff and drove a running knee into Orndorff's back. Orndorff crashed into Zbysko. Zbysko limp in the corner as Flair rolled Orndorff up from behind for the pin. 1... Flair grabbed a handful of tights. ...2...thr... Orndorff kicked Flair off. Both men up and Orndorff swung at Flair and Flair dodged the punch try and fired back on Orndorff with a trio of chops, the third of which spun Orndorff around facing away from Flair. Flair grabbed Orndorff around the waist, ran Orndorff into the ropes and rolled Orndorff up from behind for the pin. 1... Flair again grabbed a handful of tights. ...2...thr... Hall hit the ring and dropped Flair with a running clothesline to break up the pin. Flair down. Hall back to his corner.

Orndorff up and stomped on Flair. Orndorff snapped Flair up and whipped Flair into the corner. Orndorff charged in and looked to nail Flair with a running clothesline but Flair moved and Orndorff slammed front-first into the buckles. As Orndorff separated himself from the buckles, Flair lunged over and tagged in Zbysko. Zbysko hit the ring as Orndorff turned. Zbysko caught Orndorff with some head and body punches. Zbysko then dropped Orndorff with a spin kick to the chest. Zbysko snapped Orndorff up and locked Orndorff in a front facelock and Orndorff and Orndorff countered by driving Zbysko hard, back-first into the corner. Zbysko lost his grip on Orndorff. Orndorff popped Zbysko with a deliberate series of shoulder blocks to the gut. Orndorff pulled Zbysko out of the corner, whipped Zbysko into the ropes and looked to catch Zbysko coming off with a backdrop but Zbsyko instead countered and blasted Orndorff with a swinging neckbreaker. Orndorff down. Zbysko snapped Orndorff up, hoisted Orndorff in the air and blasted Orndorff with his brain buster finisher. Zbysko covered Orndorff and hooked the leg. Hall dropped off the apron and went over to where Zbysko was pinning Orndorff. 1...2...thr... Hall reached through the ropes and punched Zbysko in the head to break up the pin try. Flair dropped to the floor and charged over and jumped Hall and the pair got into a brief scrum on the floor. Zbysko covered Orndorff again. 1...2...thr... Orndorff got his foot on the bottom rope. Many in the crowd groaned. On the floor, Hall had gained the upper hand on Flair and sent Flair crashing into the ringside barricade. Flair down in a heap on the floor. Zbysko snapped Orndorff up and hoisted Orndorff up for a suplex attempt. As the ref looked upward, Hall reached into the ring and pulled Zbysko's leg out from under him and Zbysko crashed to the mat with Orndorff on top of him for the pin. Orndorff hooked the leg. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd reaction was mixed.

Orndorff to his feet and the ref raised his hand in victory. Hall climbed in the ring and congratulated Orndorff and symbolically raised Orndorff's hand in victory but Orndorff quickly yanked his hand out of Hall's grasp. Zbysko to his feet in the ring. Flair recovered on the floor and made his way into the ring. Flair talked with Zbysko as Orndorff had words with Hall. The off-mic discussion between Hall and Orndorff got heated and an enraged Orndorff dropped Hall with a punch to the jaw. Hall looked up holding his jaw as Flair and Zbysko stopped their pow-wow and looked on at what just transpired. Orndorff glared over at Flair and Zbysko and Orndorff then left the ring alone, dropped to the floor and headed back up the aisle to a mixed crowd reaction. Hall made it to his feet and was still feeling his jaw. Zbysko started having words with the ref and gestured that Hall pulled Zbysko's leg out from under him and allowed Orndorff to score the pinfall. Hall came over and started claiming his innocence in word and gesture. Zbysko and Hall then got into it and Hall slapped Zbysko hard across the face. Zbysko briefly stunned and felt the side of his face. Zbysko then nailed Hall with a kick to the gut and blasted Hall with a swinging neckbreaker to a mixed crowd reaction. Hall down and holding the back of his neck. Zbysko then started to leave the ring as Flair looked on stunned at the whole spectacle. Zbysko turned and gestured for Flair to leave with him.

Flair walked over by the ring ropes and demanded the ring mic from Craig Johnson and got it.

Flair: "I don't even know what to make of all this! Zbysko, the match is over, pal! I'm going my way and you're going yours! Whoo!"

Crowd echoed Flair's trademark battle cry and Flair tossed the mic and walked towards the ropes as Zbysko stood next to them. Flair got to the ropes and looked over at the stunned Zbysko and Flair left the ring and headed to the floor and back up the aisle to cheers as Zbysko looked on from the ring.

WINNER: Hall & Orndorff - Pinfall - Orndorff pinned Zbysko after Hall pulled Zbysko's leg out from under him - 11:14)

Sid: "Here's my psych evaluation, Jimmy!"

Jimmy: "Let me see what it says, man! There's no way you'll be cleared to wrestle after everyone sees how nutty you are!"

Sid handed the paper to Jimmy. Jimmy quickly scanned the paper while reading it under his breath.

Jimmy then snapped back like he was stunned.

Jimmy: "Wrestler Sid Vicious is of sound mind and is free to pursue any wrestling matches he would like now and in the future!"

Crowd popped.

Sid: "Guess who's coming to dinner at 'Spring Breakout', JImmy?! Hahahaha!"

Sid: "You know what? You're really beginning to annoy me."

Jimmy: "I am?! What are you going to do about it, you psycho?!"

Sid: "You wanna see how wild and crazy I can get right now?"

Jimmy: "Don't you touch me! Don't you come near me!"

Sid slowly started moving in Jimmy's direction as Jimmy backed into the corner.

Crowd buzzed as Bubba Rogers and Steve O, both in street clothes, charged down the aisle, hit the ring and jumped Sid from behind. The pair hammered away on Sid, whipped Sid into the ropes and caught Sid coming off with a double clothesline. Sid down and hurting. After a few stomps by Rogers and O, Rogers snapped Sid up, whipped Sid into the ropes and caught Sid coming off with his spinning side slam finisher. Sid laid out. New Spoiler came to the ring in his mask and ring attire and wearing his fingerless black glove on his right hand. New Spoiler had the belt slung over his shoulder. As O and Rogers got in a few more well placed stomps on Sid, New Spoiler climbed into the ring and handed his title to manager Jimmy Hart. New Spoiler nodded and Rogers and O pulled Sid to his feet and each man held one of Sid's arms. New Spoiler reared back and slapped Sid across the face. Sid in a daze. New Spoiler slapped Sid again. New Spoiler then laid into Sid with a series of head and body shots. Sid on shaky legs but still being held up by Rogers and O. New Spoiler gestured for the title belt and was handed it by Jimmy. New Spoiler stood looking at the stunned Sid for a few seconds, raised the title over his head and brought the centerpiece of the belt crashing down on the top of Sid's head. Rogers and O let go of Sid and Sid crumpled harmlessly to the mat. New Spoiler, O and Rogers all stood over the downed Sid as Jimmy Hart looked on.)

Rogers was in a white dress shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned and the sleeves rolled up, suspenders, gray slacks and black shoes. O was in his red leg-length tights with the word 'Super' above a silver star with black trim on the back, a Steve O t-shirt, black ring boots and sunglasses. New Spoiler was wearing his silver mask with black trim, a black singlet with the bottom half of the tights covered by red leg-length tights with a black stripe going down the outside of each leg, a fingerless black glove on his right hand and black boots with the silver Spoiler mask on the outside of each boot. He had the title slung over his shoulder. Jimmy Hart was in a black suit with 'First Family' written across the back of the jacket, white dress shirt and black thin tie, black and white shoes, sunglasses and carrying his trademark megaphone.

The four climbed into the ring and Jimmy and O played to the crowd while Rogers and New Spoiler stood stoically in the corner. New Spoiler was rubbing his gloved right hand.

Jimmy Hart went over and yanked the ring mic out of Craig Johnson's hand.

Jimmy: "You are about to witness why Sid Vicious is so stupid! He not only signed a contract to wrestle Bubba and Steve O in a handicap match, but he signed for the match to happen just five days before he challenges the New Spoiler, the best wrestler in the world today, for the World Championship at 'Spring Breakout'!

"So, not only were his chances slim to begin with going into the title match on Sunday, now they will be reduced to zero after Bubba and Steve get finished working him over!"

Jimmy tossed the mic.

'Steel Monkey' <a href="https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE</a> roared through the p.a. system and the crowd popped as Sid Vicious, in his black tights and boots, made his way to the ring and climbed over the top rope into the ring.

Jimmy walked up to Sid and started yelling and pointing at the big man. New Spoiler moved into the picture to Sid's left. Sid turned and looked at the champ as Jimmy quietly moved away and O and Rogers jumped Sid and started pounding on him. New Spoiler and Jimmy left the ring for the floor.

Ref called for the bell.

O and Rogers beat on Sid some more, whipped Sid into the ropes and caught Sid coming off with a double clothesline. Sid crashed to the mat. O and Rogers put the boots to the downed Sid. Rogers snapped Sid up and whipped Sid into the ropes and O caught Sid coming off with a dropkick. Sid fell back against the ropes. Rogers moved in and nailed Sid with a few stiff uppercuts. Sid staggered away from the ropes. Rogers grabbed Sid and whipped Sid into the buckles. Rogers backed up and charged in and looked to avalanche Sid but Sid moved out of the way and Rogers crashed front-first into the buckles. O charged over and went to punch Sid but Sid blocked the punch try and caught O with a head shot that stunned O. Rogers came out of the corner and went to nail Sid with a head shot and but Sid blocked Rogers' punch try and caught him with a head shot. Sid then went back-and-forth nailing each man with head shots and then Sid butted O's and Rogers' heads together. O crashed to the mat and Rogers on stagger street. Sid grabbed Rogers, whipped Rogers into the ropes and caught Rogers coming off with a boot to the face. Rogers crashed to the mat as the fans cheered. O recovered and came up behind Sid and clubbed Sid with a double sledge to the back. Sid spun aroiund and O stunned Sid with a rolling neckbreaker. O for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Sid kicked out. Rogers up. O kicked Sid in the back and pulled Sid to his feet. O held Sid from behind as Rogers came in and worked Sid over with body punches. O let go of Sid and Sid fell into the ropes and his head and arms were hanging out over the middle rope. Rogers backed up and charged in and nailed Sid with a leapfrog body guillotine. Rogers repeated the move again with similar success. Rogers then attempted the move a third time and connected once more. Sid crumpled to the mat. Rogers snapped Sid up and nailed Sid double leg slam. Rogers for the cover and O jumped on top of Rogers to add extra weight. 1...2...thr... Sid managed to kick out. Crowd popped. Jimmy stunned at ringside. Rogers snapped Sid up and he and O nailed Sid with a double suplex. Sid down and hurting. Rogers snapped up Sid and went to whip Sid into the buckles but Sid reversed and sent Rogers crashing into the buckles. Sid charged in and blasted Rogers with an avalanche. O came up and clubbed Sid from behind with a forearm to the back but Sid was anything but stunned by it. Sid caught O wiht a head shot and threw O into Rogers in the corner. O infront of Rogers as Sid backed up and charged in and nailed both men with an avalanche. O staggered out of the corner and Sid grabbed O by the throat and nailed O with a chokeslam. O laid out. Sid looked down at O and Rogers recovered enough to charge out of the corner at Sid but Sid backdropped Rogers. Rogers up and charged at Sid and Rogers caught a face full of boot from Sid. Rogers crashed to the mat and was hurt. O had gotten off the mat and staggered in Sid's direction and Sid caught O with a boot to the gut, hoisted O up and blasted O with his powerbomb finisher. O laid out. Sid went over and peeled Rogers up off the mat and hoisted Rogers up and blasted Rogers with his powerbomb finisher. Both Rogers and O laid out in the ring as the fans roared. Sid grabbed O, dragged O over and placed O in the pinning position across Rogers' chest. Sid then placed his foot on O's back for the pin. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd popped.

Ref raised Sid's hand in victory. New Spoiler climbed into the ring, came up behind Sid and shoved Sid in the back. Sid spun around and Sid and the champ engaged in a staredown. Jimmy on the apron telling New Spoiler it's time to go. Sid and New Spoiler kept glaring at one another. New Spoiler then did the throat-slitting gesture across his neck and then turned and, with an eerie, mysterious calm, left the ring for the floor and joined Jimmy at ringside. The pair looked back at Sid and then turned and started to head back up the aisle. O and Rogers still down in the ring.

Sid picked up on a mic.

Sid: "Hey, Hart!"

Jimmy and New Spoiler turned to look back at Sid.

Sid: "You forgot these two!"

Sid pointed at the still down Rogers and O. Sid peeled O off the mat and threw him over the top rope and crashing down to the floor. Sid then snapped up Rogers and threw him over the top rope down to the floor. Jimmy and New Spoiler looked at Rogers and O laying on the floor for a few seconds. New Spoiler then glanced back up at Sid and Sid made the World Title around the waist gesture with his hands to the delight of the crowd. Jimmy and New Spoiler turned and continued their journey back up the aisle, leaving O and Rogers laying on the floor. Sid briefly played to the crowd.

"This Sunday! 'Spring Breakout'! The 'Macho Man' takes on the 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor! Ummm-hmmm...

"I've got a news flash for Terry Taylor! You can say all you want about what a great athlete you are! But you need to prove it! You need to step in between those ropes on Sunday and show that you are indeed what you say you are! Yeahhhhhhhhhhh! There's gonna be a lot of pressure on you to perform, Taylor! Hope you don't have any performance anxiety issues because this sport doesn't suffer fools!

"There's nothing on the line in this match but personal pride! No championships are on the line! It's all about the bragging rights! When Sunday night rolls around, will the 'Macho Man' be the one bragging about beating the 'World's Greatest Athlete'?! Or, will Terry Taylor be the man who can boast he beat Randy Savage?! Who's going to have this notch on their belt?!

"Terry Taylor, you're off to a good start since you've arrived here! But now you're moving up the ladder to face one of the top guys in the promotion at 'Spring Breakout'! If you're truly the world's greatest athlete that you brag about being, then you'll have to prove it by beating top competition! And that starts with me! Dig it?!"

Picture flipped and Taylor was standing in thje WCW Interview Center in a gray suit, white dress shirt and black tie with mic in hand.

Taylor: "'Spring Breakout' is going to be a coming out for the 'World's Greatest Athlete'.

"It's going to be the show where I truly start making my mark in WCW when I wrestle 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. I accepted Savage's challenge for this match because he's one of the best in pro wrestling today. Beating Savage shows that I indeed walk my talk. Savage is great in his own right. But he's still not the 'World's Greatest Athlete'. That's the difference here.

"I am the best at every sport I've ever tried my hand at. And if you weren't convinced of my great athletic prowess before, you will be when you see the elite athletic display I unleash on Randy Savage at 'Spring Breakout'.

"This Sunday marks the dawn of a new era in WCW. It will be an era of greatness. And it will be spearheaded by the only man who can usher in such an era, and that's me, the 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor.")

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson in the WCW Interview Center with Bret Hart and the Dynamite Kid."

Kid and Bret were already standing in the interview area in their ring attire.

Hudson: "Bret and Dynamite, you both have a win against each other, and this Sunday at 'Spring Breakout', you're facing off one last time in the rubber match of the series and it's gonna be 2-out-of-3 falls.

"But, before we get to that, can you two work together as a solid unit in this tag team match against a man you both know very well in Davey Boy Smith and his partner Mr. Anderson.".

Bret: "We've been preparing together since this match was announced last week, Scott. We've had our ups and downs in that time. But, we've worked really well together in the ring in our sparring matches against opponents at the gym. In that area, things have been great."

Hudson: "But away from the ring?"

Bret: "Let's just say we've had our differences."

Kid: "Differences?! We've almost come to blows on a couple of occasions."

Bret: "Dynamite, you don't need to air our dirty laundry before the public."

Kid: "Why not, Bret? I agree that when that bell rings we'll be just fine as a team. That's business.

"But there's still a lot of heat between us and don't pretend that there isn't."

Bret: "Again, the public doesn't need to know about that. They're paying to see us wrestle, not fight with each other."

Kid: "No, they'll have to wait to see us fight each other Sunday at 'Spring Breakout'."

Hudson: "The match on Sunday between you two is 2-out-of-3 falls with the first fall being falls count anywhere; the second fall being a 20-minute Iron Man match; and if a third fall is necessary it will be no disqualification.

"In essence, you could be wrestling three matches in one night. What are your thoughts heading into that match?"

Bret: "It's gonna be a taxing night for both of us. You rarely, if ever, wrestle in a match where you have up to three falls spread throughout a card. So, you have a fall and then go back to the locker room.You then come out for the next fall and do the same thing. If there's a third and final fall between us we'll go through the drill one last time on Sunday.

"You have to keep yourself from getting distracted between falls since there's going to a gap between them. You also have to stay loose and make sure you don't tighten up.

"I think what's going to keep both of us going is the adrenaline. We're gonna be so jacked up for this match that our focus should be solely on the match itself."

Kid: "I agree with Bret that we aren't gonna have to worry about distractions at 'Spring Breakout'. We're both gonna be dialed in on the match. And I aim to beat Bret Hart. I wanna be the man who's remembered as the man who, when everything was on the line between us, took down the man who calls himself the best there was, the best there is, the best there always will be."

Bret: "Dynamite, Sunday is gonna be one for the books between us. I respect you as a wrestler. You're an innovator; a true revolutionary in this great sport. And the best there was, the best there is, the best there always will be is gonna be at his best at 'Spring Breakout'."

Hudson: "No matter what happens between you on Sunday, Dynamite, is there any chance that you'll finally shake Bret's hand when the match is over?"

Bret and Kid locked eyes for a few seconds and then Kid let out a breathy chuckle as he shook his head and then turned and left the interview area as Hudson and Bret looked on.)

Match 4

'Hitman' Bret Hart & Dynamite Kid vs. Mr. Anderson & Davey Boy Smith

('I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide'

Anderson was now wearing black tights with 'Anderson' written across the back in white lettering with red trim and black boots. Smith was in a satin ring jacket with a white front, the Union Jack on the back and one red sleeve and one blue sleeve, tights that had the Union Jack design on front and back and blue ring boots with red trim. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed in and briefly played to the crowd.

Anderson walked to the middle of the ring and gestured for a mic. An old school ring mic was lowered from the ceiling.

MA: "Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. From Green Bay, Wisconsin! Weighing in at 240 pounds! Mr. Anderrrrrrrrrson! An-der-son!

"And...from Liverpool, England! Weighing in at 260 pounds...Davey Boy Smith!"

Crowd booed as Smith stepped forward and pumped his fist in the air.

Brief pause...

'Hart Attack' <a href="https://youtu.be/XMPnoEcq_T8" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/XMPnoEcq_T8</a> filled the arena and the fans exploded as Bret Hart and Dynamite Kid came out. Bret was in his famous pink and black leg-length singlet, white boots with black trim and a pink star on the outside of each boot and wrap-around sunglasses. Kid had the Union Jack draped over his shoulders, dark blue leg-length tights with the word 'England' in the colors of the Union Jack going down the outside of each leg and red boots with blue and white trim. Bret and Kid made their way to the ring and stopped at ringside and Bret took his sunglasses off and handed them to a young fan. Bret and Kid climbed into the ring and briefly played to the crowd.

Both teams talked in their respective corners.

Ref called for the bell.

Bret and Anderson started the match for their teams. The two men came out of their corners and engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. The two struggled for an advantage and Bret drove Anderson against the ropes. Ref called for a break and the break was clean. The two men cirlced each other again and engaged in another collar-and-elbow tie-up and Anderson caught Bret in a side headlock. Bret briefly struggled in the hold before slipping out of Anderson's grasp and nailing Anderson with a belly-to-back suplex. Both men up and Anderson moved on Bret and Bret caught Anderson with an arm drag and locked Anderson in an arm bar. Anderson down on a knee. Bret cinched up on the hold and Anderson winced in pain. Anderson slowly made it to his feet still locked in the hold. Anderson cocked his fist and started to rear back to punch Bret when Bret further tightened up on the hold. Anderson never got the punch off and winced in pain again. Anderson started to move towards the ropes in an effort to force a break but Bret yanked Anderson away from the ropes still locked in the arm bar and Anderson dropped to his knees. Anderson refused to submit to the hold. Anderson made it back to his feet and Bret released the hold and quickly shifted behind Anderson, grabbed Anderson around the waist and rode Anderson down to the mat. Bret locked Anderson in a hammerlock and worked over the hold. Bret then drove a knee into the hammerlock three times and released Anderson. Anderson up and was grabbing his left arm and started walking around in the ring. Bret started to move in on Anderson and Anderson bailed from the ring to the floor. Anderson started walking around on the floor and was shakking out his left arm. Ref ordered Bret to stand back in the ring and Bret obliged and ref started the 20-count. Bret getting antsy in the ring. Anderson still walking around and shaking out his left arm as the count grew. Anderson cautiously climbed up on the apron and started to slowly climb back into the ring when Bret started to move on him and Anderson quickly bailed back to the floor to boos. Anderson started pacing and grabbing his left arm. Bret had enough and left the ring and dropped to the floor. Anderson started backing up around the ring as Bret stalked him. Ref counting. The pair got around to one side and Bret was focused on Anderson. Smith took the opportunity to kick Bret in the back from the apron. Bret stumbled forward and Anderson dropped Bret with a clothesline. Kid hit the ring and charged over and nailed Smith with a forearm shiver to the side of the head as the crowd cheered. Smith grabbed the top rope to keep from crashing to the floor. Ref ordered Kid back to his corner and Kid went. On the floor, Anderson snapped up and slammed Bret back-first into the ringside barricade. Bret limp but standing. Anderson peeled Bret off the barricade and slammed Bret's head into the ring apron. Bret down to a knee. Ref counting. Anderson snapped Bret up and threw Bret back into the ring and Anderson followed. Bret started getting up and Anderson struck Bret with a series of elbows to the back of the neck. Anderson hoisted Bret across his shoulders and nailed Bret with a fireman's carry slam (Wasteland). Bret down and hurting. Anderson tagged in Smith. Smith in as Bret was getting up and Smith caught Bret with a series of stiff kicks to the side of the ribs. Smith whipped Bret into the ropes and caught Bret coming off with a press slam. Smith quickly covered Bret. 1... Bret kicked out. Smith snapped Bret up and went to hit Bret with a suplex but Bret twice blocked the move and nailed Smith with a suplex of his own. Both men down. Bret still feeling the affects of the ribs kicks. Smith to his feet as Bret was getting up and Smith caught Bret with a punch to the ribs he'd kicked earlier. Smith went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and caught Smith coming off with a lariat. Smith crashed to the mat and Bret went down to a knee. Crowd buzzing.

Bret slowly and painfully made it to his feet as Smith started to get up. Bret was able to lunge over and tag in Kid as the crowd erupted. Smith up and Kid charged over and popped Smith with a series of European uppercuts. Kid whipped Smith into the ropes and caught Smith coming off with a flying headbutt. Smith crashed to the mat and grabbed his head. Kid snapped Smith up and blasted Smith with a snap suplex. Kid ran and jumped on the middle rope and came off with a lionsault that connected. Smith for the cover. 1...2... Smith kicked out. Kid grabbed Smith as Smith was getting up and whipped Smith into the ropes and Smith stunned Kid with a corkscrew elbow that dropped Kid. Smith quickly regained his bearings and snapped Kid up. Smith whipped Kid into the buckles and charged in and nailed Kid with a running clothesline. Kid staggered out of the corner and Smith blasted Kid with a running clothesline to the back of the neck. Kid crashed to the mat. Smith rolled Kid over, covered Kid and hooked the leg. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Smith snapped up Kid and threw Kid into Smith's and Anderson's corner. Smith tagged in Anderson. Smith caught Kid with a couple of knees to the gut before leaving the ring. Anderson came in and nailed Kid with a series of head shots that drove Kid to his ass in the corner. Anderson then facewashed Kid with his boot. Anderson reached down and pulled Kid to his feet. Anderson pulled Kid out of the corner and nailed Kid with a fisherman suplex into a bridgeout for the pin. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Anderson stomped Kid, snapped Kid up, whipped Kid into the ropes and caught Kid coming off with a back elbow to the chest. Kid back down. Anderson rubbed Kid's face into the mat. Kid rolled over and was grabbing his face. Bret climbed in the ring to go after Anderson but the ref intercepted Bret and ordered Bret back to his corner. As the ref and Bret became distracted with one another, Anderson took the opportunity to drive Kid into Anderson's team's corner and Smith strangled Kid with the tag rope. Smith stopped the strangling party as the ref got Bret out of the ring and the two stopped having words with each other. Anderson pulled Kid out of the corner, whipped Kid into the ropes and looked to catch Kid coming off with a backdrop but Kid leapfrogged Anderson and Anderson spun around and Kid popped Anderson with an enzuigiri. Both men down. Ref counting. Crowd buzzing. Smith to his feet, looked over at Bret, lunged over and tagged Bret in. Anderson up and Bret laid into Anderson with head shots and blasted Anderson with a pendulum backbreaker. Bret mounted the middle buckle as Anderson got to his feet. Anderson turned and Bret nailed Anderson second rope clothesline. Anderson down. Bret grabbed Anderson's legs and, after a brief struggle, turned Anderson over into the sharpshooter. Crowd cheering. Anderson fighting through the pain in his legs and lower back. Smith hit the ring and clubbed Bret from behind with a swinging side double sledge to the back. Bret lost his grip on the hold and went down. Kid hit the ring and went to hit Smith with a lariat but Smith ducked the move and spun around and dropped Kid with a stiff clothesline. Ref ordered Smith out of the ring. Kid had rolled out on the apron and Smith went over and used his foot to push Kid off the apron and down to the floor. Smith went back to his team's corner. Anderson up as Bret was getting up bent over and Anderson caught Bret with a kick to the chest and then grabbed Bret by the hair and violently threw Bret into the corner and the back of Bret's head slammed into the top buckle. Bret went down to a knee in the corner.

Anderson pulled Bret out of the corner and locked Bret into position for his Mic Check (reverse STO) finisher but Bret caught Anderson with a series of elbow strikes to the back of the head. Anderson lost his grip on the hold and stumbled forward. Anderson turned and Bret nailed Anderson with an inverted atomic drop. Anderson crashed to the mat holding his jewels. Bret again grabbed Anderson's legs and, after a brief struggle, once again turned Anderson over into the sharpshooter. Anderson in serious pain in the hold. Anderson not able to escape. Smith climbed into the ring to break up the hold again but Kid had recovered on the floor, climbed up on the apron, hit the ring and pulverized Smith with his spear finisher as the crowd erupted. A few seconds later, Anderson furiously tapped out to more cheers as the ref called for the bell.

Smith laid out in the ring and holding his gut because of the spear. Bret released the hold and the ref raised his hand in victory. Anderson down and hurtin' for certain. Kid walked over to Bret and he and Bret talked off-mic for several seconds. Bret again extended his hand for Kid to shake it as a gesture of goodwill. Kid again just looked at Bret, ignored the gesture, and turned and left the ring for the floor and headed back up the aisle to a mixed crowd reaction as Bret looked on from the ring.

WINNER: Kid & Bret - Submission - Bret made Anderson submit to the Sharpshooter - 13:03)

(Announcers discussed Kid and Bret winning the match and Kid once again refusing to shake Bret's hand in effort to bury the hatchet between the two. Said the parking lot brawl was coming up after the break.)

(Commercials)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson was standing in the halway with mic in hand.

Hudson: "I'm looking for Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana to see if I can get a few words with them before they head out to the parking lot."

Two WCW suits walked by.

Hudson: "Guys, have you seen Manny and Tito anywhere?"

One of the suits: "We haven't. No."

Hudson: "OK. Thank you."

The suits walked on.

Hudson: "Hoping we can talk with Manny and Tito be..."

Cameraman (pointing): "They're coming."

Hudson turned and saw Manny and Tito coming down the hallway.

Hudson: "Manny and Tito, can I please have a word with you before you head out to fight the tag team champions Snuka and Muraco in the parking lot?"

Manny (agitated): "Make it quick."

Hudson: "Why put yourselves at risk like this just five days before you and the champs collide inside a steel cage with the titles on the line at 'Spring Breakout'?"

Manny: "Here's the answer and we're done. We'll worry about the match on Sunday, Sunday! Tonight, it's all about teaching those two jackasses a lesson in respect! We know the risks and we're willing to take the chance!

"We're outta here!"

Tito and Manny walked off.

Hudson: "Tito Santana and Manny Fernandez are headed to the parking lot. We'll see what transpires out there.")

(Announcers discussed the parking lot brawl that was coming up soon.)

Cameraman had followed Manny and Tito out to the parking lot.

Manny and Tito walked out to a parking lot aisle and were walking around looking for the champs.

Manny and Tito walked past a few cars. Muraco and Snuka, without the belts, seemingly came out of nowhere and ambushed Los Lobos from behind. Muraco and Snuka pounded away on Tito and Manny. Snuka took Tito and violently slammed Tito's head into the trunk of a car and Tito crumpled to the pavement. Muraco threw Manny at the trunk of another car and Manny slammed into it and went down to his knees. Snuka was stomping on the downed Tito. Muraco caught Manny with a few head shots, pulled Manny to his feet, walked Manny over to the passenger's side back window and proceeded to slam Manny's head through the glass. Tito down on the concrete and Manny hanging out of a car through the window.

Camerman (to Muraco): "Is that your car?"

Muraco: "No. But it now has the added feature of a wetback sticking out of the side.

"Let's go."

Snuka: "Right behind you."

Snuka and Muraco calmly walked off as the cameraman caught a final shot of Tito on the pavement and Manny still hanging out of the car window as the announcers implored people to buy the PPV on Sunday as the program faded to black.)

The two men came out of their corners and immediately engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up and wound up toppling through the top and middle ropes in the hold and crashing to the floor. Ref left the ring for the floor. After a few seconds, the men made it to their feet and Kid shoved Bret and Bret returned the shove. Bret then nailed Kid with a kick to the gut and attempted to hit Kid with a piledriver but Kid blocked the move and backdropped Bret to the floor. Kid snapped up Bret and nailed Bret with a suplex on the floor. Kid climbed up on the apron. Bret made it to his feet, turned and Kid nailed Bret with a flying lariat off the apron to the floor. Bret down. Kid covered Bret. 1...2... Bret kicked out. Kid snapped Bret up and went to whip Bret into the ringside barricade on an opposite side of the ring but Bret reversed and sent Kid crashing into it. Bret quickly regained his bearings and charged in on Kid but Kid moved and Bret crashed front-first into the ringside barricade. Kid holding his back and Bret leaned front-first against the barricade. Kid moved in on Bret as Bret was separating himself from the barricade. Bret turned and Kid nailed Bret with a trio of European uppercuts and threw Bret back into the ring. Kid followed Bret in and snapped Bret up and nailed Bret with a snap suplex. Kid then went out on the ring apron and mounted the top buckle as Bret slowly made it to his feet. Bret up and turned and Kid went to nail Bret with a missle dropkick but Bret fell out of the way and Kid crashed to the mat. Both men down. Ref counting. Both men slowly made it to their feet. Kid was facing away from Bret and Bret came up behind Kid and blasted Kid with a Russian legsweep. Kid down. Bret grabbed Kid's legs and, after a brief struggle, turned Kid over into his sharpshooter finisher. Bret fans popping. Kid firmly locked in the hold and in pain. Kid started slowly inching towards the ropes. Kid moved closer to the ropes and stuck his hand out but it was just short of the ropes. Bret cinched up on the hold and Kid let out a yell of agony. Kid used everything he had to finally get close enough to to grab the bottom rope. Kid grabbed the rope but only briefly as Bret was relentless in applying the hold. Kid lost his grip on the bottom rope. Ref asked Kid if he submitted and he vigorously shook his head 'no'. In one last attempt, Kid finally was able to move close enough and drape his arm out over the bottom rope to force a break in the hold. Bret released the hold and Kid, instead of getting up, crawled out of the ring and crashed to the floor. Bret left the ring for the floor. Kid had rolled over on his back. Bret went to re-apply the sharpshooter on Kid on the floor but Kid got a leg free and kicked Bret hard in the gut. The kick sent Bret crashing back-first into the ring post. Bret separated himself from the post and leaned against the apron in pain. Ref dropped to the floor.

Kid got to his feet. Kid limped over towards Bret and Bret caught Kid with a kick to the gut. Kid stumbled back holding his gut and Bret found the strength to charge over and drop Kid on the floor with a lariat. Bret covered Kid and hooked the leg. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Kid fans cheered. Both men laid there for a few seconds. Bret up and started pulling Kid up when Kid suddenly grabbed Bret around the waist and rammed Bret back-first into the ring apron. Kid repeated the move. Bret went down to his knees on the floor. Kid booted Bret in the chest. Kid snapped up Bret and threw Bret back into the ring. Kid went over and mounted the top buckle as Bret slowly, painfully made it to his feet. Bret turned and Kid came off the top rope with a flying headbutt that connected. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid down as well. Both men grabbing their heads. Kid crawled over and covered Bret. 1...2...thr... Bret barely kicked out. Bret fans cheering now. Kid snapped Bret up and whipped Bret into the ropes and looked to catch Bret coming off with a dropkick but Bret grabbed the top rope and Kid crashed to the mat. Bret briefly regained his bearings as Kid got up and painfully stepped back next to the ropes. Bret charged at Kid and went to hit Kid with a running clothesline but Kid instead backdropped Bret over the top rope down to the floor. Bret down and hurting. Kid backed up in the ring. Bret slowly made it to his knees by the apron. Bret made it to his feet and Kid charged over and blasted Bret with a sliding dropkick. Bret crashed back into the ringside barricade and went down in a heap on the floor. Kid dropped to the floor, pulled Bret away from the barricade, covered Bret and hooked the leg. 1...2... Bret kicked out. Kid snapped up Bret and slammed Bret's head into the ring apron and threw Bret back into the ring. Bret started getting up and Kid moved in and popped Bret with a European uppercut followed by a snap suplex. Kid ran and jumped on the middle rope and came off with a lionsault but Bret got his knees up and Kid crashed into them. Both men down. Ref counting. Both men to their feet and Bret caught Kid with a couple of deliberate head shots and then nailed Kid with a jumping vertical suplex. Bret mounted the middle buckle and came off with a diving pointed elbow drop to the chest that connected. Bret for the cover. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Crowd into it. Bret snapped Kid up and bodyslammed Kid. Bret quick stomped Kid, ran and hit the ropes and came off with a running elbow smash that connected. Bret for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Kid got a shoulder up. Bret's fans groaned. Bret snapped Kid up, whipped Kid into the ropes and caught Kid coming off with a lariat. Kid crashed back to the mat. Bret went for a standing leg drop but Kid rolled out of the way and Bret crashed to the mat. Both men down and hurting. Ref counting. Both men slowly made it to their feet. Kid charged over and blasted Bret with an enzuigiri. Bret crashed face-first to the mat. Kid up and stumbled/fell back into the corner. Bret slowly getting to his feet as Kid assumed the position. Crowd buzzing. Bret up, turned and Kid exploded out of the corner and blasted Bret with his spear finisher. Bret down. Kid covered Bret and hooked the leg. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as Kid's fans cheered loudly.

Kid released Bret and got to his knees and was catching his breath. Kid made it to his feet breathing heavily and the ref raised his hand in victory. Bret still down in the ring holding his rib area.

Kid looked over at Bret and then Kid left the ring, dropped to the floor and headed back up the aisle to a mixed crowd reaction.

WINNER: Kid - Pinfall - Spear - 11:02 - Kid leads 1-0)

(Announcers discussed Kid winning the first fall. Wondered if that spear would affect Bret's performance in the next fall.)

(Announcers then intro'd video from last week's 'Mayhem' of the end of the 'Odd Couple' tag team match pitting Ric Flair & Larry Zbysko against Paul Orndorff & Scott Hall.

VIDEO:

Zbysko snapped Orndorff up, hoisted Orndorff in the air and blasted Orndorff with his brain buster finisher. Zbysko covered Orndorff and hooked the leg. Hall dropped off the apron and went over to where Zbysko was pinning Orndorff. 1...2...thr... Hall reached through the ropes and punched Zbysko in the head to break up the pin try. Flair dropped to the floor and charged over and jumped Hall and the pair got into a brief scrum on the floor. Zbysko covered Orndorff again. 1...2...thr... Orndorff got his foot on the bottom rope. Many in the crowd groaned. On the floor, Hall had gained the upper hand on Flair and sent Flair crashing into the ringside barricade. Flair down in a heap on the floor. Zbysko snapped Orndorff up and hoisted Orndorff up for a suplex attempt. As the ref looked upward, Hall reached into the ring and pulled Zbysko's leg out from under him and Zbysko crashed to the mat with Orndorff on top of him for the pin. Orndorff hooked the leg. 1...2...3!)

(Announcers then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson in the WCW Interview Center.

"My guest at this time is Scott Hall."

Hall walked into the interview area in his ref's attire.

Hudson: "Scott, tonight you're one of the two special referees, along with Larry Zbysko, in the match pitting Ric Flair against Paul Orndorff. We saw the end of the tag team match last week where you helped Orndorff score the winning pinfall for your team when you pulled Larry Zbysko's foot out from under him allowing Orndorff to land on top of Zbysko. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Hall: "I was playing to win, man! Orndorff was on my team! I haven't heard him complain about what happened! We won! Bottom line!"

Hudson: "You won thanks to your interference. How can you..."

Voice off camera: "Hey! Hey, Hall!"

Paul Orndorff, in his ring attire, stormed into the interview area and got in Hall's face.

Orndorff: "I've been looking for you since I got here!

"Yesterday, I finally watched the match from 'Mayhem' where we beat Flair and Zbysko! I didn't know we won because you interfered, man!"

Hall: "What's the problem, Paul? It's all good. I mean, we won."

Orndorff: "If I'm gonna win a match, I prefer to do it cleanly and on my own merit! You got that?! I sure as hell don't need someone out there helping me!

"And you'd better call this match between me and Flair right down the middle! Got that?!"

Hall: "Loud and clear, Orndorff. You don't need to say it again. I'm gonna be the fairest referee you and Flair have ever encountered. The right man is gonna win the match."

Orndorff poked Hall in the chest.

Orndorff (through gritted teeth): "He better."

Orndorff turned and stormed out of the interview area.

Hall: "I'm gonna do the right thing in this match. If Orndorff needs to worry about either of the refs, it's Zbysko he needs to keep an eye on. Larry's trouble."

Hall walked out of the interview area as Hudson looked on.)

'Macho Man' Randy Savage vs. 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor

(The 'World's Greatest Athlete' theme

Taylor came out wearing a letterman's jacket with a blue body and white sleeves. On the right front side of the jacket was a football and on the left front side were the overlaid 'TT' initials (think the Texas Tech main logo) in white lettering, blue cyclist-type tights that came down almost to the knee. The tights had a white stripe on the outside of each leg and the overlaid 'TT' white logo on the lower front side of the left leg. In stilted silver lettering on the back of the tights were the initials 'WGA'. He also wore blue boots with the overlaid white 'TT' logo on them.

Taylor walked down the aisle, up the ring steps and climbed into the ring and took off his ring jacket and handed it to a ringside attendant.

Taylor then walked out to the middle of the ring and started running in place. Taylor turned in the direction of all four sides of the ring during this routine. Taylor then did 10 jumping jacks and then dropped and did 10 regular push-ups. Crowd was booing even louder now as Taylor stopped showing off and went to his corner.

'Pomp And Circumstance'

Savage was in his pink tights with three white stars on the front and 'Macho Man' in white block letters on the back, yellow boots with a white star on the outside of each boot, sunglasses and headband. Savage made his way to the ring and climbed in and briefly played to the crowd.

Ref called for the bell.

The two men came out of their corners and Taylor suddenly dropped and did 10 one-handed push-ups to the delight of no one. Taylor got to his feet. Savage slowly applauded Taylor and then stunned Taylor with a jab. Savage whipped Taylor into the ropes and caught Taylor coming off with a takedown lariat. Savage for the cover. 1... Taylor kicked out. Savage grabbed Taylor as Taylor was getting up and blasted Taylor with a gutwrench suplex followed by an elbow smash to the chest. Savage went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle as Taylor slowly got to his feet. Taylor up and turned and Savage came off with a double sledge attempt to the top of the head but Taylor caught Savage with a gut shot. Savage turned and Taylor caught Savage with a kick to the gut and then locked Savage into position for his 'World's Greatest Finale' (double underhook facebuster) finisher but Savage instead backdropped Taylor to the mat. Taylor up and Savage caught Taylor with another jab. Savage whipped Taylor into the ropes and looked to catch Taylor coming off with a backdrop but Taylor instead caught Savage with a kick to the chest. Savage shot up and stumbled back. Taylor hit Savage with a dropkick and Savage crashed to the mat. Savage turned on his side facing the crowd and grabbing the ropes. Taylor moved in and drove a knee into Savage's back three times. Taylor snapped Savage up and slammed Savage's head into the top buckle. Taylor spun Savage around in the corner and drove a series of knees into Savage's gut. Savage staggered out of the corner holding his gut. Taylor whipped Savage into the ropes and caught Savage coming off with a spinning spinebuster. Taylor for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Savage kicked out. Taylor snapped Savage up and went to whip Savage into the ropes but Savage reversed and caught Taylor coming off with a back elbow to the chest that spun Taylor around. Savage nailed Taylor with a hangman across the top rope. Taylor staggered off in the other direction. Savage quickly climbed back into the ring and charged up behind Taylor and drove a high knee into Taylor's back. Taylor stumbled forward and fell through the top and middle ropes down to the floor. Savage went over and mounted the top buckle as Taylor made it to his feet. Taylor turned and Savage came off the top buckle with a double sledge to the top of head that connected. Taylor crashed back to the floor. Savage snapped Taylor up and drove Taylor back-first into the ringside barricade. Savage stunned Taylor with a jab. Ref counting. Savage went and climbed up on the ring apron and jumped off with an elbow smash to the top of the head attempt but Taylor moved and Savage crashed front-first against the ringside barricade. Savage leaned over the barricade. Taylor moved in and booted Savage in the side of the ribs and slammed Savage's head into the ringside barricade twice. Taylor then quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the 20-count. Savage leaned sideways against the ringside barricade. Taylor caught Savage with a gut shot and then whipped Savage at the ring post. Savage slammed shoulder-first into the post and stumbled off. Taylor charged up behind Savage and dropped Savage with a forearm smash to the back. Taylor took the opportunity to do some jumping jacks as the crowd booed. Ref counting. Savage started getting up and Taylor grabbed Savage by the hair and slammed Savage's head into the ring apron. Savage with his head laying on the apron. Taylor climbed up on the apron and stomped Savage in the back of the head. Savage slid back and crumpled to the floor. Taylor climbed in and out of the ring to break the 20-count.

Savage slowly getting up when Taylor grabbed Savage in front facelock. Taylor pounded Savage in the back with a couple of forearm smashes. Savage grabbed Taylor around the waist and sent Taylor slamming back-first into the ring post. Crowd popped. Taylor welded against the post and Savage quickly re-gathered himself. Ref counting. Taylor slowly moved away from the post and was leaned next to the apron. Savage came up behind Taylor, grabbed him and threw Taylor back into the ring. Savage went over on the apron and mounted the top buckle as Taylor slowly made it to his feet. Taylor up and turned and Savage came off with an elbow smash to the top of the head that connected. Taylor crashed to the mat. Savage for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Taylor kicked out. Savage snapped Taylor up and whipped Taylor into the buckles. Savage charged in and Taylor got a foot up and Savage slammed face-first into it. Savage turned away and staggered off holding his jaw. Taylor came up behind Savage and caught Savage with a belly-to-back suplex into a bridgeout for the pin. 1...2... Savage kicked out. Both men up and Savage went to punch Taylor but Taylor blocked the punch try and caught Savage with a punch to the gut that doubled Savage over. Taylor then blasted Savage with a swinging knee lift to the chest. Savage crashed back to the mat. Taylor decided it was time to do a trio of free squats to the boos of the crowd as Savage started to get to his feet. Taylor moved in and pounded away on Savage and then locked Savage in the abdominal stretch. As the ref checked to see if Savage would submit, Taylor grabbed the top rope to apply extra pressure. Ref looked over at Taylor and Taylor had let the rope go just before the ref saw it. Ref again concentrating on whether Savage gives up and Taylor once again grabbed the top rope to apply more pressure. Taylor again let go of the top rope just before the ref caught it. Savage still locked in the hold but not giving up. After being in the hold a few more seconds, Savage found the strength to power out of the hold and hip toss Taylor to the mat. Taylor up and swung at Savage and missed and Savage was able to fire away on Taylor with a series of stiff jabs that stunned Taylor. Taylor crashed to the mat. Savage picked Taylor up and nailed Taylor with a bodyslam. Savage went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle, raised his fists in the air and came off with his big elbow smash from the top rope finisher but Taylor rolled out of the way and Savage crashed to the mat. Crowd buzzing. Both men down. Ref counting. Both men slowly made it to their feet. Taylor caught Savage with a head shot, whipped Savage into the ropes and looked to catch Savage coming off with a clothesline but Savage ducked the move and came back and flattened Taylor with a lariat takedown. Crowd popped. Savage reached down and pulled Taylor up by the hair. Taylor was bent over and took a few steps back while still in Savage's grasp. Savage put Taylor's head between his legs and and went to hoist Taylor up for a piledriver but Taylor was able to get his feet in the ropes, block the move, drop his feet back to the mat and backdrop Savage over the top rope. Savage crashed to the floor. Ref ordered Taylor back and Taylor obliged as he shook out the affects of the match. Ref counting. Savage down on the floor and hurting. As the count grew, Savage started stirring on the floor. Count continued and Savage made it to his knees and then his feet. Savage climbed up on the apron and stuck his upper body into the ring between the top and middle ropes and Taylor moved in and nailed Savage with a knee to the side of the head. Savage stunned. Taylor pulled Savage back into the ring through the top and middle ropes, locked Savage in position and blasted Savage with his 'World's Greatest Finale' (double underhook facebuster) finisher. Taylor rolled Savage over on his back, covered Savage and hooked the leg. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd booed.

Taylor got to his feet and the ref raised his hand in victory. Taylor celebrated by doing a few windmills and then leaving the ring, dropping to the floor and heading back up the aisle to more boos.

WINNER: Taylor - Pinfall - 'World's Greatest Finale' - 12:39)

(Announcers discussed Taylor defeating Savage. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson.

"We are backstage here with Scrappy McGowan, a regular WCW referee and the two guest referees for our next match on 'Spring Breakout', Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko."

Hall and Zbysko were in their ref attire. McGowan was also in his ref attire.

Hudson: "Scrappy will be doing the official coin toss to see who referees where in the Ric Flair- Paul Orndorff match."

Scrappy held out a coin.

Scrappy: "Larry and Scott, this side of the coin is heads."

Scrappy flipped the coin over.

Scrappy: "This side is tails.

"It was decided earlier tonight that Larry Zbysko would make the call on the coin flip. The winner of the flip gets to choose if he will be the referee in the ring or the one on the floor. Here goes."

Scrappy flipped the coin.

Zbysko: "Tails!"

Scrappy caught the coin and placed it on the back of his hand with his free hand covering it. Scrappy then removed his hand.

Scrappy: "It's heads. Scott Hall is the winner."

Hall: "Alright, man. I'll make it short and sweet. I'm gonna be the in-ring ref."

Zbysko: "You'd better call the match fair!"

Hall: "I'll do my job and I'll do it right! If anybody needs to be watched, Larry, it's you! Who knows what you might try to do to help Flair win the match?!"

Zbysko: "Best man's winning tonight if I have anything to do with it! You just keep from helping Orndorff like you did in our tag match last week!"

Hall: "Different situation, man! Tonight, I'm an official! And I intend to be remembered as the man who made sure the best man won between Ric Flair and Paul Orndorff at 'Spring Breakout 2018'!"

Zbysko: "You do that!"

Hall and Zbysko glared at each other as the segment ended.)

Orndorff climbed in and briefly played to the crowd as Hall and Zbysko looked on. Orndorff shot a glare at Hall and Zbysko before Orndorff went to his corner.

'Also Sprach Zarathustra'

Flair made his way to the ring, climbed in and walked up to Hall and Zbysko and had words with the two refs for the match before heading to his corner.

Schiavone: "Couldn't help but notice that Flair didn't slap hands with fans on the way to the ring."

Madden: "I caught that as well.

"Also wondering what he was talking about with Hall and Zbysko?"

Hall and Zbysko chatted in the ring and Zbysko started to leave. Zbysko picked up on a mic when stepped out on the apron:

Zbysko: "You just do your damn job, Scott!"

Hall: "I'm gonna do mine, chico! You do yours!"

Hall flicked his toothpick at Zbysko and Zbysko climbed back in part-way through the ropes with fist raised.

Hall gestured for Zbysko to drop to the floor. After a stand-off of a few tense seconds between the refs, Zbysko dropped to the floor.

Hall turned and called for the bell.

Flair and Orndorff came out of their corners and circled one another and engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. After a brief struggle, Flair gained the advantage and drove Orndorff into the corner. Hall ordered a break and the break was clean. The two men came out of the corner and circled one another and engaged in another collar-and-elbow tie-up and Orndorff gained the advantage and locked Flair in a side headlock. Orndorff cinched up on the hold and worked it over for a bit as Flair tried to escape. Flair was finally able to shove Orndorff off and catch Orndorff coming off the ropes with a back elbow to the chest. Orndorff crashed to the mat. Orndorff up and the two sized each other up and slowly circled one another again and Orndorff kicked at Flair and Flair dodged the kick try. An angry Flair put up his fists and yelled 'Come on!' at Orndorff. Orndorff shook his head 'yes' and put his fists up. The two men circled each other and Flair threw a punch at Orndorff which Orndorff evaded. The dance continued and Orndorff went to nail Flair with a head shot but Flair blocked the punch try and nailed Orndorff with a head shot of his own. Flair then laid into Orndorff with some of his trademark chest chops. Flair whipped Orndorff into the ropes and caught Orndorff coming off with a backdrop. Orndorff crashed to the mat. Flair backed up as a stunned Orndorff got to his feet. Flair charged at Orndorff and jumped on Orndorff and Orndorff countered by grabbing Flair and hot shotting Flair on the top rope. Flair snapped back and crashed to the mat. Orndorff stomped on Flair a few times, snapped Flair up and nailed Flair with a rib breaker across the knee. Orndorff mounted the middle buckle and came off with a knee drop to the chest that connected. Orndorff covered Flair. Hall counted. 1...2... Flair kicked out. Orndorff snapped Flair up by the hair and slammed Flair's head into the top turnbuckle three times. Flair spun around in the corner and Orndorff whipped Flair into the opposite buckles and charged in and blasted Flair with a running clothesline. Flair limp in the corner. Orndorff grabbed Flair and threw Flair out of the corner. Flair crashed to the mat. Orndorff covered Flair again. Hall counted. 1...2... Flair kicked out. Orndorff got up and slapped his hands together three times and yelled at Hall that it was a three count. Hall yelled back at Orndorff. Orndorff turned his attention back to Flair. Orndorff reached down and started to pull Flair up when Flair caught Orndorff with a poke to the eye. Orndorff grabbed at his eye. Hall reprimanded Flair and Flair yelled at Hall and told Hall to shut up. Hall yelled back at Flair to shut up. Flair shoved Hall and Hall raised his fist like he was ready to fight. Orndorff recovered from the eye poke and clubbed Flair across the back. Orndorff went to whip Flair into the ropes but Flair reversed and caught Orndorff coming off with a big chest chop. Orndorff crashed to the mat. Flair covered Orndorff and hooked the leg. Hall counted. 1...2... Orndorff kicked out. Flair snapped Orndorff up and nailed Orndorff with a suplex. Flair followed that with an elbow smash across the chest. Flair backed into the ropes and came off with a knee drop to the head attempt but Orndorff rolled out of the way and Flair crashed knee-first into the mat. Flair rolled over on his side grabbing his knee.

Orndorff up and stomped Flair's hurt knee. Orndorff then grabbed and yanked on Flair's leg.

Orndorff picked up on a mic.

Orndorff: "Now we go to school! Whoo!"

Orndorff locked Flair in Flair's own finisher, the figure 4 leglock. Orndorff fans cheering. Flair in serious pain. Orndorff with the hold firmly locked in. Hall asked Flair if he submitted and Flair vigorously shook his head and yelled 'no'. Flair unable to escape the hold. Flair then started to reverse the hold. Orndorff fought to keep the hold from being turned but Flair succeeded. Now it was Orndorff who was in pain. The two gradually untangled their legs. Both men slowly made it to their feet. Orndorff moved in and stunned Flair with a chest chop. Flair returned fire with a chest chop of his own. The two then engaged in a chop exchange. Flair gained the advantage and Orndorff was on stagger street. Flair pulled Orndorff's legs out from under him and Orndorff crashed to the mat. Flair yanked on Orndorff's left leg and then started to lock Orndorff in the figure 4 but Orndorff kicked Flair off with such force that Flair tumbled through the top and middle ropes and crashed down to the floor. Orndorff hobbled to his feet in the ring as Hall began the 20-count. Orndorff took a few seconds to regain his bearings in the ring and then started to leave the ring but Hall stepped in and ordered Orndorff to stand back. Hall and Orndorff got distracted by having words with each other in the ring and Zbysko took the opportunity to help Flair to his feet on the floor. As Orndorff and Hall continued to have words, Flair reached into the ring and pulled Orndorff's legs out from under him. Orndorff went down and Flair dragged Orndorff out of the ring to his feet on the floor. Flair popped Orndorff with a chest chop and then slammed Orndorff's head into the ringside barricade twice. Hall counting the 20-count in the ring as Zbysko followed the action on the floor. Flair held Orndorff's hair and walked Orndorff over and slammed Orndorff's head into the announcer's table. Orndorff staggered off. Flair rolled in the ring to break the 20-count but, before he could roll back out, Hall grabbed Flair's arm and pulled Flair into the ring. Flair got to his feet and was livid and started furiously arguing with Hall. On the floor, Orndorff went over to the timekeeper's table and grabbed the ring bell. Orndorff walked to the ring and was preparing to climb up on the apron when Zbysko came over and ordered Orndorff to drop the bell. Orndorff kicked Zbysko hard in the gut and Zbysko stumbled back holding his gut. Orndorff climbed up on the apron and made his way into the ring. Flair still arguing with Hall and Flair had his back to Orndorff. Orndorff raised the bell over his head and started to slowly move in behind Flair. Zbysko recovered enough to climb into the ring and come up from behind and snatch the bell out of Orndorff's hands. Orndorff turned and started screaming at Zbysko as Zbysko held onto the bell. Flair then interjected himself and started berating Orndorff. Hall started arguing with Zbysko. Zbysko gestured that Orndorff was gonna hit Flair over the head with the bell. Hall picked up on a mic telling Zbysko he was the ref on the floor and he needed to get back out there. Flair and Orndorff had a few more words and Flair hit Orndorff with a head shot that spun Orndorff around facing away from Flair. Flair dropped down and rolled Orndorff up from behind for the pin. Zbysko and Hall still arguing with each other. Crowd in a tizzy yelling for one of the refs to turn and look at Flair pinning Orndorff. Zbysko looked over, saw it, dropped the bell and dived over and started to make the count. 1...2...thr... Hall grabbed Zbysko's hand before it could hit the mat the third time. Crowd incensed. Zbysko up and started arguing with Hall again. Flair let go of Orndorff.

Flair up and got in Hall's face and the two started arguing some more. Zbysko walked over and picked up the ring bell off the mat and started leaving the ring as Orndorff got up, came up behind Flair, spun Flair around and belted Flair with a series of head shots. Orndorff whipped Flair into the ropes and caught Flair coming off with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Orndorff for the cover. Hall making the count. 1...2... Flair got his foot on the bottom rope. ...3! Zbysko came over on the floor and placed the bell on the apron.

Zbysko picked up on a mic.

Zbysko: "Flair's foot was on the bottom rope, Scott! Flair got his foot on the rope before the three count!"

Flair's foot was still on the bottom rope as Orndorff got up and raised his fists in the air and was walking around victoriously. Hall appeared to be pondering the situation. Zbysko again pointed to Flair's foot on the bottom rope. Hall went over and yanked Orndorff's arm down and ordered the match to continue. Orndorff started arguing with Hall. Flair started recovering in the ring as Zbysko placed the ring bell back on the timekeeper's table. Flair started getting up and Orndorff went over and kicked Flair in the gut and went to hoist Flair up for the piledriver but Flair twice blocked the move and backdropped Orndorff to the mat. Flair down to a knee. Hall started counting. Both men to their feet and Flair turned and Orndorff charged over and pulverized Flair with a running clothesline. Flair crashed to the mat. Orndorff snapped Flair up and went to whip Flair into the ropes but Flair reversed and caught Orndorff coming off with his flying forearm shiver finisher. Orndorff crashed to the mat as the crowd popped. Flair covered Orndorff and hooked the leg. Hall counted. 1... Hall inexplicably stopped to make sure Orndorff's shoulders were down. ...2... Hall checked on Orndorff's shoulders again. ...thr... Orndorff kicked out. Crowd went ballistic and so did Flair. Flair and Hall to their feet and Flair's eyes were popping out of his head. Hall put his hands up and appeared to be trying to calm Flair down. Flair had a few more kind words for Hall and then grabbed Hall by the front of his ref's shirt. Orndorff had rolled off to the side. Zbysko climbed into the ring. Orndorff started getting to his feet. Zbysko came up behind Flair...and clubbed Flair with a forearm smash to the back. Hall and Zbysko pounded away on Flair. Orndorff standing there looking on and showing no reaction. Hall and Zbysko threw the battered Flair into Orndorff's arms. Orndorff wrapped his arm around Flair's neck and blasted Flair with his inverted DDT (Scorpion Death Drop) finisher. Orndorff covered Flair and hooked the leg. Hall for the count and Zbysko stood there counting along by holding up his fingers for the crowd to see. 1...2...3! Hall up and called for the bell. Most in the crowd booed but Orndorff had his fans. Orndorff to his feet.

Orndorff looked over at Hall and Zbysko and the three then high fived each other and engaged in a quick group hug. Hall and Zbysko then each raised a hand of Orndorff's in victory. Garbage started to hit the ring. The trio then turned their attention back to the prone Flair and stomped the hell out of him. Orndorff peeled Flair off the mat and threw Flair over the top rope and Flair crashed to the floor and was laid out. Hall once again raised Orndorff's hand in victory. The trio then left the ring for the floor and headed back up the aisle to some more trash tossed in their direction and extremely loud boos.

(Announcers talked about the twists and turns of the Flair-Orndorff match and how all the chaos and confusion of the Flair-Orndorff situation has been clarified. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson in the locker room with Los Lobos."

Los Lobos was in their ring attire.

"Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana, tonight is your last chance to win the WCW World Tag Team Championships. What are you thinking right now as you prepare to face the champions Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka inside a steel cage, especially after being ambushed by the champs in the parking lot at the end of last Tuesday's 'Mayhem'?"

Tito: "Scott, we know what's at stake here. We lose tonight, and we can't challenge for the tag team titles again for as long as Muraco and Snuka remain the champions.

"We've come so close to de-throning them every time we've faced them. Manny and I have pushed them to the brink, only to see them escape with the titles still in their hands. They've cheated. They've gotten themselves intentionally disqualified. They caught a lucky break the last time we faced them at 'Winter Warfare'. We could, and probably should, be talking to you as the tag team champions right now. That's how close we've come.

"The ambush in the parking lot by Muraco and Snuka on us last week has left us somewhat banged up. But we're professional athletes. And if you can still go, then you walk that aisle and climb inside the squared circle and give it your all even if you have some injuries.

"As you said, Scott, this is our last chance. There are no tomorrows for us. We have to get the job done now. And that's all there is to it."

Manny: "Look at my forehead, Scott. What do you see?"

Hudson looked at Manny's forehead.

Hudson: "I see scar tissue."

Manny: "That's right. It's healed up a lot over the last few days. But I still feel that glass ripping my flesh from when Muraco rammed my head through that car window. That's something you don't forget.

"We've put up with a lot of crap from the champions over the last few months! They like to say and do a lot of things to push our buttons! Muraco is the bigger mouth of the two! One of my goals tonight is to make Muraco eat his words! I want to take them and shove them right down his racist throat! He deserves the thrashing that's heading his way!

"It's put up or shut up time tonight for us! We lose and we're out of the title picture!

"We may be a little battered and bruised from what went down last Tuesday! But that's not gonna stop us! Los Lobos is on a mission!

"Muraco and Snuka are bullies! And the best way to deal with a bully is to beat them up and take their stuff!

"And Tito Santana and Manny Fernandez are gonna walk into that 15, 20-foot high steel cage looking to smash the bullies and take the thing that means the most to them...those World Tag Team Titles!"

Tito: "We're Bully Busters tonight, Manny! Ariba!")

Dynamite Kid vs. 'Hitman' Bret Hart

'Hart Attack' filled the arena and out came Bret Hart to a strong ovation. Bret was in his ring attire and sunglasses. Bret came down to ringside, took off his shades and gave them to a young fan at ringside. Bret climbed into the ring and briefly acknowledged the crowd before heading to his corner.

'London Calling' played and out came Dynamite Kid to a mixed crowd reaction. Kid was in his tights and boots but did not have his Union Jack flag with him. Kid climbed into the ring and went to his corner without acknowledging the fans.

Announcers pointed out that the wrestler who scores the most falls in the 20-minute time-limit is the winner.

Ref called for the bell.

The two men came out of their corners and Kid stunned Bret with a dropkick. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid grabbed Bret as Bret was getting up and whipped Bret into the ropes and blasted Bret coming off with a second dropkick. Bret down. Kid for the quick cover. 1... Bret kicked out. Both men up and Kid stunned Bret with a European uppercut. Kid whipped Bret into the ropes and looked to catch Bret coming off with a backdrop but Bret turned it into a sunset flip attempt. After a brief struggle, Bret flipped Kid over for the pin. 1... Kid clapped his legs against the sides of Bret's head to escape the pin. Both men up and Kid caught Bret with another European uppercut and then attempted to take Bret over in a backslide but Bret reversed it and took Kid over in the backslide for the pin. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Both men up. The two men cautiously circled one another before engaging in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Kid gained the advantage and caught Bret in a side headlock. Bret countered with a belly-to-back suplex to free himself. Bret snapped Kid up and slammed Kid's head into the top buckle. Kid spun around in the corner and Bret whipped Kid into the opposite buckles. Bret charged in and Kid moved and Bret slammed front-first into the buckles. Bret peeled himself off the buckles and turned and walked right into a kick to the gut from Kid followed by a snap suplex into a float over for the pin. 1... Bret kicked out. Kid snapped Bret up and went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and caught Kid coming off with a lariat. Kid crashed to the mat. Bret moved around and mounted the middle buckle behind Kid as Kid got to his feet. Kid up and Bret nailed Kid with a second rope bulldog. Kid rolled over on his back holding his head. Bret grabbed Kid's legs and, after a brief struggle, turned Kid over into the sharpshooter. Kid hurting in the hold. A buzz filled the arena. Bret's fans cheering. Kid started to slowly move in the direction of the ropes but was struggling to get there. Bret cinched up on the hold and Kid stopped dead in his tracks. Ref asked Kid if he submitted and Kid shook his head and yelled 'no'. Kid in dire pain. Kid raised his right hand like he might tap. Crowd into it. Kid didn't tap and was able to move close enough to the ropes to grab the bottom rope to force a break in the hold. Kid to his feet with the aid of the ropes. Kid hobbled next to the ropes. Bret started to move in on Kid and Kid stuck his upper body through the top and middle rope. Ref ordered Bret to stand back and Bret did so. Ref started the 20-count. Kid pulled his body back in the ring. Bret started to move in on Kid and Kid stepped out on the ring apron as many in the crowd booed. Ref ordered Bret back again. Bret stepped back and the ref started the 20-count as Kid shook out the affects of the sharpshooter. Bret got tired of waiting and went over and Kid went to hit Bret with a head shot but Bret blocked the punch try and nailed Kid with a head shot of his own. Bret then grabbed Kid, hoisted Kid up and suplexed Kid back into the ring.

Johnson: "5 Minutes gone! 15 minutes remain!"

Bret quick stomped Kid and then hit Kid with a standing leg drop. Bret for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Bret quickly covered Kid again and hooked the leg. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Bret snapped Kid up and went to whip Kid into the buckles but Kid reversed and Bret slammed into the buckles. Kid found the strength to move in and monkey flip Bret out of the corner. Bret up and Kid charged in and popped Bret with a flying lariat. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid for the cover. 1... Bret got a shoulder up. Kid caught Bret with a couple of head shots, snapped Bret up and nailed Bret with a snap suplex. Kid ran over, jumped on the middle rope and came off with a lionsault that connected. Kid for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2...3!

Kid leads 1-0

Kid snapped Bret up and whipped Bret into the corner. Kid charged in and blasted Bret with a running high knee to the chest. Bret staggered out of the corner holding his chest and Kid moved in and nailed Bret with a dropkick from behind. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid picked up Bret and bodyslammed Bret. Kid went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle and came off with a knee drop but Bret rolled out of the way and Kid crashed to the mat. Both men down. Kid holding his right knee. Ref counting. Announcers pointed out a count out counted as a fall. Bret to his feet and Kid to a knee. Bret snapped Kid up and nailed Kid with a jumping vertical suplex. Bret ran and hit the ropes and came off with a running elbow smash to the chest that connected. Bret for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Bret fans groaned. Bret snapped Kid up around the waist and went to nail Kid with a German suplex, but Kid was able to escape from Bret's grasp and maneuver behind Bret and tried to hit Bret with a German suplex of his own but Bret caught Kid with an elbow strike to the side of the head, escaped Kid's grasp, maneuver behind Kid and nail Kid with a German suplex. Kid down and hurting. Bret reached down and started pulling Kid up when Kid stunned Bret with a trio of punches that stunned Bret. Kid maneuvered behind Bret and paid Bret back with a German suplex of his own. Both men down. Ref counting.

Johnson: "10 minutes gone! 10 minutes remain!"

Kid and Bret slowly made it to their feet and Kid caught Bret with a couple of kicks to the gut. Kid whipped Bret into the ropes and Bret came off and caught Kid in the crucifix and took Kid over for the pin. 1...2...3!

Tied 1-1

Both men up and Bret moved in and caught Kid with a few head shots and then nailed Kid with a pendulum backbreaker. Bret mounted the middle buckle and came off with a diving pointed elbow drop that connected. Bret for the cover. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Bret quickly caught his breath and grabbed Kid and pulled Kid to his feet. Bret whipped Kid into the ropes and looked to catch Kid coming off with a clothesline but Kid ducked the move and came back and blasted Bret with a flying headbutt. Bret crashed to the mat holding his head. Kid briefly shook out the affects of the match, grabbed the downed Bret's legs and locked Bret into the Indian Deathlock submission. Bret in serious pain. Kid with the hold fully locked on. Bret in agony and trying not to submit. Bret started scooting towards the ropes but the pain stopped him in his tracks and Kid scooted back to the middle of the ring with Bret still locked in the hold. Bret in a major league world of hurt. Bret started scooting towards the ropes again. It was a painful journey, but Bret was finally able to make it close enough to the ropes to grab the top rope and force a break in the hold. Bret, with the aid of the ropes, managed to pull himself up to his feet. Bret limping badly. Kid moved in and kicked Bret in his left leg. Bret limped along with the aid of the top rope. Kid kicked Bret a couple of more times in the leg. Bret lost his grip on the top rope. Kid went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and caught Kid coming off with a punch to the gut. Bret, in serious pain, grabbed Kid, hoisted Kid up and blasted Kid with a piledriver. Bret fans exploded. Kid laid out. Bret rolled over on his side grabbing his left leg. Ref counting. Count grew and Bret painfully crawled over and covered Kid. 1...2...thr... Kid kicked out. Bret fans groaned. Kid still down and Bret sitting up. Bret made it to his feet and briefly walked around shaking out the affects of the Indian Deathlock as Kid slowly recovered. Kid started getting up bent over and Bret moved in and hit Kid with a knee lift to the chest. Kid snapped back against the ropes holding his chest. Bret pulled Kid away from the ropes and whipped Kid into the buckles. Kid crashed front-first into the buckles, stumbled back and crashed to his back on the mat.

Johnson: "15 minutes gone! 5 minutes remain!"

Crowd intensity ratcheted up as it was now crunch time. Bret moved in and grabbed Kid's legs in an effort to lock Kid into the sharpshooter again but Kid was able to scoot on his backside over by the ropes and drape his arm over the bottom rope to force a break. Kid took his time getting to his feet. Bret went to move on Kid and Kid feigned like he was going to step out on the apron but then Kid stunned Bret with a gut punch that doubled Bret over. Kid then brought a double sledge down across Bret's back and Bret went down to a knee. Kid picked up Bret, whipped Bret into the ropes and caught Bret coming off with a flying lariat. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid snapped Bret up and bodyslammed Bret. Kid went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle as Bret slowly made it to his feet. Bret up and turned and Kid came off with a missle dropkick that connected. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid covered Bret and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Bret kicked out. Kid's fans groaned. Kid snapped up Bret and hoisted Bret up for a suplex, but Bret escaped Kid's grasp, dropped to his feet behind Kid, ran Kid into the ropes and rolled Kid up from behind for the pin. 1...2...thr... Kid kicked Bret off. Both men to their feet and Bret went to punch Kid but Kid dodged the punch try and came back and stunned Bret with a head shot. Kid grabbed Bret around the waist and nailed Bret with a German suplex into a bridgeout for the pin. 1...2...thr... Bret kicked out. Bret's fans cheered. Crowd really into it.

Johnson: "3 minutes! 3 minutes remain!"

Kid snapped Bret up, whipped Bret into the ropes and looked to catch Bret coming off with a clothesline but Bret ducked the move and came back and caught Kid with a flying crossbody for the pin. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Both men up and Kid moved in and stunned Bret with a series of European uppercuts. Kid whipped Bret into the ropes and caught Bret coming off with a dropkick. Bret crashed to the mat. Kid moved in, grabbed Bret's legs and, after a brief struggle turned Bret over into the move Bret taught Kid months ago, the sharpshooter. Crowd roaring. Bret in pain but not giving up. Bret started crawling towards the ropes locked in the hold. Kid cinched up on the hold and Bret let out a scream of pain. The look on Kid's face was one of intense determination. Bret still struggling in the hold.

Johnson: "2 minutes! 2 minutes remain!"

Bret finally was able to make a surge and drape his arm out over the bottom rope to force a break in the hold. Crowd was hot. Bret made it to his feet in great agony and Kid moved in and jumped on Bret and pounded Bret. Kid whipped Bret into the ropes and blasted Bret coming off with a clothesline. Bret down and in bad shape. Kid stomped on Bret and reached down and pulled Bret up by the hair and blasted Bret with a headbutt. Bret crumpled to the mat. Kid covered Bret and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Bret kicked out. Crowd on a roller coaster ride. Kid snapped Bret up and went to bodyslam Bret but Bret turned it into a small package for the pin. 1...2...3! Bret fans erupted in wild cheers.

Bret leads 2-1

Bret released Kid. Kid to his feet as Bret sat up in the ring. Kid ran and hit the ropes and came off with a low-flying dropkick to the chest that connected. Kid for the cover. 1...2... Bret kicked out. Kid popped Bret with some head shots and snapped Bret up to his feet. Kid went to suplex Bret but Bret twice blocked the move and blasted Kid with a jumping vertical suplex. Both men down. Ref counting.

Johnson: "1 minute left! 1 minute!"

Crowd at a fever pitch. Kid made it to his feet at the count of 7 and Bret to his feet at the count of 9-1/2. Kid moved in and nailed Bret with some head and body shots. Kid went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and looked to catch Kid coming off with a backdrop but Kid caught Bret with a kick to the chest. Bret stumbled back and turned away from Kid. Kid rolled Bret up from behind for the pin. 1...2...thr... Bret kicked out. Both men to their feet.

Johnson: "30 seconds remain! 30 seconds!"

Kid charged at Bret and went to hit Bret with a clothesline but Bret ducked the moved and came back and fired away on Kid with a series of European uppercuts of his own that drove Kid next to the ropes. Bret went to whip Kid into the ropes but Kid reversed and caught Bret coming off with a clothesline that sent Bret crashing to the mat.

Johnson: "15 seconds remain! 15 seconds!'

Crowd roar ear-splitting. Kid picked up Bret and nailed Bret with a pendulum backbreaker. Kid for the cover. 1...2...thr... Bret kicked out. Crowd going nuttier than a box of Christmas fruitcakes. Kid quickly re-covered Bret. 1... The bell rang.

Kid got up off of Bret and was standing with his hands on his knees catching his breath. Bret slowly and painfully made it to his feet, grabbing at his back as he still felt the affects of the backbreaker. Ref raised Bret's hand in victory as his fans roared.

The two men looked at each other for several seconds and then Kid left the ring for the floor and headed back up the aisle as Bret shook out the affects of the match in the ring.

WINNER: Bret Hart - Bret won 2-falls-to-1 - 20:00)

(Marine Corps Hymn <a href="https://youtu.be/kIhiMqz7iuE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/kIhiMqz7iuE</a> filled the arena and out came Slaughter to a strong ovation. Slaughter was in his black, leg-length singlet with 'USA' in red, white and blue lettering on the outside of each leg and red, white and blue stars above the 'U' and below the 'A', black and green ring boots with his stripe rank on the outside of each boot and his DI hat. Slaughter made his way down the aisle and handed out little American flags to fans along the way. Sarge climbed into the ring and walked to the middle of the ring and turned to all four sides and saluted the fans.

The title was around his waist. Sherri was in a blue dress that flaunted her curves, black stockings and black heels. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed up on the apron. Sherri sat on the middle rope and opened the top rope and Slater stepped into the ring and Sherri followed. The pair briefly played to the crowd.

Craig Johnson stood center ring with mic in hand.

Johnson: "This contest is scheduled for one fall with a 30-minute time limit and is for the Tru TV Championship!"

Crowd cheered.

Johnson: "This match has been sanctioned by the World Class Wrestling Championship Committee!

"Introducing first...the challenger! He hails from Parris Island, South Carolina! Weighing in at 308 pounds...Sgt. Slaughter!"

Crowd cheered as Sarge stepped out of his corner and pumped his fist in the air.

Johnson: "And his opponent! Hailing from Richmond, Virginia! Weighing in at 235 pounds...he is the reigning Tru TV Champion...'Dirty' Dick Slater!"

Crowd booed as Slater took a step out of his corner and raised his fists in the air as Sherri applauded her man.

Ref took the title from Slater and held it aloft while walking around the ring for all to see. Ref then handed the belt off to Johnson.

Ref called both men to the middle of the ring. Ref laid down the ground rules and patted each man down as Slater and Sarge eyed one another. Sherri was with Slater and rubbing his shoulders.

Ref sent each man back to his corner. Sherri had final words with Slater before heading for the floor.

Ref called for the bell.

Slater charged out of his corner and went to punch Sarge but Sarge blocked the punch try and fired away on Slater with a series of head shots. Sarge whipped Slater into the corner. Sarge moved in and pelted Slater with a series of brutal open hand chest chops. Sarge relentless. Sarge pulled Slater out of the corner, whipped Slater into the ropes and caught Slater coming off with a clothesline. Slater crashed to the mat. Sarge then Garvin stomped Slater. Sarge snapped Slater up and whipped Slater into the ropes but Slater caught the top rope and Sarge charged in and plowed into Slater with a running clothesline that sent Slater hurtling over the top rope and crashing to the floor. Crowd roaring. Sarge went to go after Slater but the ref intercepted Sarge and ordered Sarge to stand back. Sherri ran over to check on her already battered man.

Schiavone: "Slaughter wants to win the TV Championship! But he also wants to punish Slater in the process!"

Sarge shoved the ref aside and dropped to the floor and went to go after the downed Slater but Sherri stepped in Sarge's path in front of the slowly recovering Slater. Sherri pleaded for Sarge to lay off Slater. She appeared on the verge of tears. Sarge raised his fist like he wanted to pop Sherri. Sarge got in Sherri's space and, instead of hitting her, grabbed her by the arms and kissed her on the lips. Crowd popped. Ref counting. Sarge gently moved Sherri aside and Sherri angrily grabbed Sarge by the arm. Sherri maneuvered around so Sarge was facing away from Slater. Sarge looking at Sherri. Slater to his feet and moved in and clubbed Sarge from behind with a double sledge to the back. Sarge stumbled forward, Sherri moved and Sarge fell front-first onto the floor. Slater quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the 20-count. Sarge started getting up and Slater moved in and kicked Sarge in the gut. Sarge staggered off holding his gut. Slater charged up behind Sarge and popped Sarge with a high knee to the back. Sarge stumbled forward and crashed front-first into the ringside barricade. Sarge staggered off holding the ringside barricade for balance and then went down to a knee. Slater climbed into the ring to break the ref's 20-count. Ref ordered Slater to stand back and Slater distracted the ref by having words with him. Sherri quickly kicked off her heels, removed one of her stockings and came up behind Sarge and started strangling him with it. Sherri stopped the strangling and fled the area as Slater stopped arguing with the ref. Slater left the ring for the floor. Sarge holding his throat. Slater hauled off and kicked Sarge in the side of the ribs. Slater snapped Sarge up and threw Sarge back into the ring and Slater followed. Slater snapped Sarge up and nailed Sarge with a brutal backbreaker across the knee. Slater for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Sarge kicked out. Slater up and stomped Sarge in the head. Slater snapped up Sarge and nailed Sarge with a suplex. Slater backed into the ropes and came off and nailed Sarge with a running knee drop to the chest that connected. Sarge in bad shape. Slater stomped on the downed Sarge. Slater grabbed Sarge's hair and held up Sarge's head.

Slater picked up on a mic:

Slater: "Look at your hero! Look at him!"

Crowd booed.

Slater snapped Sarge up and went to whip Sarge into the ropes but Sarge reversed and caught Slater coming off with a scoop slam. Boos turned to cheers. Both men down. Ref counting. Sarge found the strength to cover Slater. 1...2... Slater kicked out. Slaughter popped the downed Slater with some head shots and then Sarge reached down and started to pull the downed Slater to his feet when Slater stunned Sarge with a quick headbutt out of nowhere. Sarge staggered off holding his head. Slater moved in and grabbed Sarge and deliberately slammed Sarge's head multiple times into the top buckle.

Madden: "Sarge has Excedrin Headache Number 9 right about now!"

Slater spun Sarge around in the corner and started choking Sarge out with his boot. Slater broke the illegal choke at the ref's count of 4. Sarge grabbed his throat. Slater pulled Sarge out of the corner and started to hoist Sarge up for the piledriver but Sarge twice blocked the move and reached down and pulled Slater's legs out from under him. Slater crashed to the mat. Sarge held Slater's legs and maneuvered Slater into position and Sarge catapaulted Slater into the corner. Slater's head slammed into the top buckle. Slater briefly leaned front-first against the buckles as Sarge quickly regained his bearings. Slater separated himself from the buckles and turned and walked out of the corner right into a head shot from Sarge that spun Slater around. Sarge moved in and caught Slater in the cobra clutch. Crowd eating it up. Slater fighting to escape the hold but to no avail. Sarge with the hold firmly locked in. Slater was flailing and started to fade in Sarge's clutches. Sherri jumped up on the ring apron. Ref went over and ordered Sherri off the apron. The pair started arguing with each other. Sarge saw what was happening and released Slater and Slater collapsed to the mat. Sarge went over by the ropes and started yelling at Sherri to get off the apron. Sherri had words with Sarge. With Sarge and the ref distracted, Slater recovered enough to sneak over and roll Sarge up from behind for the pin. Sherri dropped back to the floor. Ref dived down to count. 1... Slater grabbed a handful of tights. ...2...thr... Sarge kicked Slater off. Fans cheered. Both men to their feet and Slater went to hit Sarge with a head shot but Sarge blocked the punch try and fired away on Slater with a series of head shots that stunned Slater. Sarge then reared back and blasted Slater with a big roundhouse right to the jaw. The blow spun Slater around and Slater stumbled forward and fell to his knees with his head and shoulders hanging out over the middle rope. Sarge wanted to go after Slater but the ref intercepted Sarge and ordered Sarge to stand back. As Sarge had words with the ref, Sherri, on the floor, came came over to where Slater was, reached in her bra and brandished a small steel chain. Sherri handed the chain to Slater. Slater wrapped the chain around his right fist. Sarge had enough of the ref and blew by him and went over and peeled Slater up off the middle rope. Sarge spun Slater around and Slater blasted Sarge with his chain-laden right fist. Sarge crashed to the mat. Ref checked on Sarge as Slater, by the ropes, turned facing the crowd and dropped the chain into his tights. Slater then went over and covered Sarge and hooked the leg. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the fans booed.

Slater released Sarge and got to his feet and Sherri climbed in the ring and was jubilant.

Ref talked with Craig Johnson and took the title belt from him.

Ref went over and handed Slater the TV Title and raised Slater's hand in victory to louder boos.

Johnson: "In a time of 13 minutes, 19 seconds, your winner...and STILL Tru TV Champion...'Dirty' Dick Slater!"

More boos.

Slater held the belt up with one hand and had his other hand around Sherri's waist. The two quickly kissed on the lips. Sarge rolled over on his side and was holding his jaw as the ref checked on him.

Slater and Sherri left the ring and dropped to the floor. Slater held the title in the air one more time to more joy from the crowd before he and Sherri made their way back up the aisle arm in arm. Sarge now sitting up in the ring holding his jaw.

WINNER: Slater - Pinfall - Chain shot to the jaw - 13:19)

(Announcers discussed Slater retaining the title thanks to outside interference from Sherri. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson coming to you from the locker room of the World Tag Team Champions Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka."

Snuka and Muraco were already standing with Hudson. Both men were in their ring attire and Snuka had on a black tank top and Muraco was wearing a green t-shirt with the word 'Hawaii' in white lettering across the front. Neither man was holding his title belt.

Hudson: "We all saw what happened on 'Mayhem' last Tuesday. You two ambushed Los Lobos out in the parking lot and beat them down. You must be very proud of yourselves."

Muraco: "I'm proud of the damage we did to Los Lobos last week. What about you, Jimmy?"

Snuka: "Have to admit I'm quite pleased with our handiwork, bruddah.

"It makes me smile when I think of Tito laying on the pavement and Manny hanging out of the side of that car."

Muraco: "Fun was had all around."

Hudson: "You two are all class."

Muraco shrugged.

Muraco: "Most fans hate us. But tonight we are going to do them a favor by doing our civic duty."

Hudson: "What do you mean?"

Muraco: "We're finally gonna be finished with Los Lobos once and for all.

"This is their last chance to win these belts and it just ain't gonna happen. And not only are they not winning the belts, but we get to punish them inside the meat grinder known as the steel cage.

"How did we get so lucky?"

Snuka: "It's like everyday is Christmas for us. Manny and Tito better have doctors standing by to take care of their wounds, because they're gonna have a lot of them tonight."

Muraco: "We've had white trash, and they hate us, come up to us on the street and tell us they hope we beat Los Lobos because they're sick of them, too.

"You know it's bad for you when the white trash crowd is coming down on our side.

"Los Lobos, this is all she wrote for you. It ends tonight. You will walk into the cage without the tag team titles and you will walk out of the cage without the tag team titles."

Snuka: "And then we'll finally...finally...get some fresh meat fed to us to devour."

Hudson: "That's not a pleasant visual, Jimmy.

"The World Tag Team Title match inside the 15-foot high steel cage is still to come tonight on 'Spring Breakout'. And it's the last chance for Los Lobos.")

The New Spoiler (WC) w/ Manager Jimmy Hart and Security 'Big' Bubba Rogers vs. Sid Vicious

('Steel Monkey' <a href="https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE</a> roared through the p.a. system and the crowd popped as Sid Vicious, in his black tights and boots, made his way to the ring and climbed over the top rope into the ring. Sid briefly played to the crowd.

Instrumental song 'The Champ' <a href="https://youtu.be/o_GwkVIulGg" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/o_GwkVIulGg</a> played and out on the entrance stage walked World Champion The New Spoiler, manager Jimmy Hart and security Bubba Rogers to strong boos. New Spoiler was wearing the silver mask with black trim, a black singlet with the bottom half of the tights covered by red leg-length tights with a black stripe going down the outside of each leg, a fingerless black glove on his right hand and black boots with the silver Spoiler mask on the outside of each boot. He had the title around his waist. Jimmy Hart was in a black suit with 'First Family' written across the back of the jacket, white dress shirt and black thin tie, black and white shoes, sunglasses and carrying his trademark megaphone. Rogers was in a gray suit, white dress shirt, black shoes and fedora. The trio made their way to the ring and climbed in. Jimmy briefly played to the crowd as New Spoiler stood stoically in the corner rubbing his fingerless gloved right hand. Rogers stood on the apron showing no reaction.

CJ: "This match is scheduled for one fall with a 60-minute time limit and is for the World Class Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship!

"This match has been sanctioned the World Class Wrestling Championship Committee!

"Introducing first, the challenger! He hails from West Memphis, Arkansas! Weighing in at 314 pounds...Sid Vicious!"

Crowd cheered as Sid just stared across the ring at the champ.

CJ: "And his opponent! He hails from parts unknown! Weighing in at 239 pounds...the reigning World Class Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion...the New Spoiler!"

Crowd booed as the New Spoiler stood in his corner rubbing his gloved right hand as Jimmy Hart briefly played to the crowd.

Ref took the World Title and walked around the ring holding the belt aloft for all the fans to see and then handed it off to Craig Johnson.

Ref called both men to the middle of the ring. Hart came out with New Spoiler. Ref laid down the ground rules and patted each man down as both men stared each other down. Ref sent each man back to his corner.

Hart had final words with New Spoiler and then he and Rogers headed to the floor.

Ref called for the bell.

Sid and New Spoiler came out of their corners and walked right up to each other in the middle of the ring. Sid started jawing at the champ as the champ just stood there saying nothing. Sid had a few more words for New Spoiler and then New Spoiler punched Sid in the jaw. Sid briefly stunned but quickly shook it off and glared right back at New Spoiler and then nailed New Spoiler with a punch to the jaw of his own. New Spoiler briefly stunned but quickly shook out the affects of the punch. The two glared at each other again and New Spoiler popped Sid in the jaw with another shot. Sid again briefly stunned and quickly shook it off. Sid then popped New Spoiler with another punch to the jaw and New Spoiler quickly shook off the affects of it and popped Sid with another punch. Sid seemed to stiffen and his eyes grew wide. Sid popped New Spoiler with another punch to the face and New Spoiler was staggered. Sid laid into New Spoiler with a few more head shots that drove New Spoiler next to the ropes. Sid whipped New Spoiler into the opposite ropes and caught New Spoiler coming off with a press slam. New Spoiler up and Sid went to nail New Spoiler with a running clothesline but New Spoiler evaded the move and Sid turned and New Spoiler caught Sid with a series of head shots, whipped Sid into the ropes and caught Sid coming off with a high knee to the chest. Sid crashed to the mat. New Spoiler dropped down next to Sid and applied the stomach claw on Sid. Sid hurting. New Spoiler released the hold and then re-applied it. Ref asked Sid if he submitted and Sid said 'no'. New Spoiler released the hold and re-applied it a third time. Sid in pain but not giving up. New Spoiler released the hold. Sid on his back. New Spoiler up and grabbed the top rope and jumped up and stomped Sid in the stomach. New Spoiler broke the illegal move at the ref's count of 4. New Spoiler snapped Sid up and blasted Sid with the Saito suplex. New Spoiler for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Sid kicked out. New Spoiler snapped Sid up and whipped Sid into the corner. New Spoiler started to move in on Sid when Sid barreled out of the corner and flattened New Spoiler with a running clothesline. Crowd cheered. New Spoiler down. Sid grabbed the top rope and quickly shook out the affects of the match. Sid wildly shook the top rope and the fans were into it. New Spoiler getting to his feet. Sid moved in and grabbed New Spoiler by the throat. New Spoiler tried to escape but couldn't. Sid nailed New Spoiler with a chokeslam. Sid for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... New Spoiler kicked out. Sid snapped New Spoiler up and whipped New Spoiler into the corner. Sid charged in and blasted New Spoiler with an avalanche. Sid whipped New Spoiler into the opposite corner and avalanched New Spoiler again. Jimmy Hart concerned at ringside. Sid whipped New Spoiler into the opposite buckles and hit New Spoiler with a third avalanche. New Spoiler staggered out of the corner and fell to his knees and then his face in the ring.

Schiavone: "We could be looking at the end of the New Spoiler's World Title reign right here!"

Bubba Rogers removed his coat, hat and sunglasses and jumped up on the apron. Sid saw him and went over and yelled at Rogers. Rogers swung at Sid and Sid blocked the punch try and blasted Rogers with a couple of head shots and pulled Rogers head over heels over the top rope into the ring. Rogers down. Crowd buzzing. New Spoiler started recovering and getting to his feet in the ring. Sid snapped up Rogers and whipped Rogers into New Spoiler. Rogers crashed violently into the champ and the champ crashed to the mat with Rogers on top of him. Crowd roaring. Jimmy Hart losing it at ringside. Sid snapped up Rogers and threw Rogers over the top rope down to the floor. Sid looked down at the laid out Rogers as the fans went nuts. New Spoiler had gotten to his knees in the ring and Sid turned and moved in on New Spoiler and New Spoiler stunned Sid with a couple of gut punches. New Spoiler to his feet and popped Sid with a series of head shots followed by a discus punch that dropped big Sid. New Spoiler stomped on Sid. New Spoiler snapped Sid up, grabbed Sid's hand and New Spoiler mounted the top rope and did the arm twist rope walk and came off with a head shot on Sid. Sid stunned. New Spoiler went to whip Sid into the ropes but Sid reversed and caught New Spoiler coming off with a sidewalk slam. New Spoiler laid out. Fans going wild. Sid got up and looked out at the crowd with a wild look in his eyes. Sid snapped up New Spoiler, hoisted the champ high in air and brought New Spoiler crashing down on the mat with his powerbomb finisher. Fan cheers shook the building. Sid for the cover and hooked the leg. Crowd counted along. 1...2...thr... New Spoiler got a shoulder up. Loudest collective fan groan in history. Sid on his knees next to New Spoiler and couldn't believe it. Jimmy Hart placed his head down on the apron and breathed a sigh of relief. Sid snapped New Spoiler up and whipped New Spoiler into the corner. Sid charged in with another avalanche try but New Spoiler got a foot up and Sid slammed face-first into it. Sid spun around and staggered away as New Spoiler moved out of the corner behind Sid. Sid turned and New Spoiler popped Sid with a double knee facebuster. Sid down holding his face. New Spoiler shook out the affects of the match and circled around behind Sid and raised his fingerless gloved right hand in the air. Sid slowly made it to his feet, turned and New Spoiler locked on his Iron Claw finisher. The previous facebuster only added to the pain as Sid fought to escape the vice-like grip of New Spoiler. Sid stayed on his feet locked in the hold for several seconds but then dropped to his knees locked in the hold. It was only a few seconds later that the pain was too much for Sid and he furiously started slapping the outside of the left leg of the champ signaling a tap out. Ref called for the bell as the fans booed.

New Spoiler held on to the hold for a few more seconds before letting Sid go and Sid fell over on the mat holding his head.

Ref went over and had a few words with Craig Johnson and took the belt. Jimmy Hart now in the ring and elated. Ref handed New Spoiler the belt and raised the mystery masked man's hand in victory.

Johnson: "In a time of 10 minutes, 48 seconds, your winner...and STILL the World Class Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion...The New Spoiler!"

Bubba Rogers climbed in the ring as Jimmy congratulated New Spoiler on a job well done. Jimmy turned to Bubba and gestured for and told Bubba to add insult to injury and pummel Sid some more. Jimmy and New Spoiler left the ring for the floor and were looking on from ringside. Sid recovering and shaking out the affects of the claw. Jimmy yelled for Rogers to do further damage to Sid.

Ref was checking on Sid and Rogers went over, grabbed the ref and threw him out of the way and reached down and pulled Sid to his feet and drove Sid into the corner. Rogers nailed Sid with a trio of uppercuts. Rogers pulled Sid out of the corner and went to whip Sid into the ropes but Sid reversed and caught Rogers coming off with a boot to the face. Rogers crashed to the mat. Sid then snapped up Rogers and blasted Rogers with a powerbomb to the delight of the crowd. Jimmy had a look of disgust on his face as New Spoiler just shook his head in disbelief. Sid was leaned against the ropes in the ring regaining his bearings as Jimmy and New Spoiler left the laid out Rogers in the ring and headed back up the aisle.

WINNER: New Spoiler - Submission - Iron Claw - 10:48)

(Announcers talked about New Spoiler retaining the title in a short, explosive match against Sid and Jimmy Hart and the champ once again leaving Rogers laid out alone in the ring. Wondered what was going on there.)

'Hitman' Bret Hart vs. Dynamite Kid

('London Calling' played and out came Dynamite Kid to a mixed crowd reaction. Kid was in his tights and boots but did not have his Union Jack flag with him. Kid climbed into the ring and went to his corner without acknowledging the fans.

'Hart Attack' filled the arena and out came Bret Hart to a strong ovation. Bret was in his ring attire.

Bret made his way down the aisle and started to climb into the ring when Kid charged over and drove a knee into the side of Bret's ribs and Bret fell through the top and middle ropes and crashed to the floor.

Ref called for the bell.

Kid followed Bret to the floor, snapped Bret up and slammed Bret's head into the ring post. Bret stumbled forward and crashed face-first to the floor. Kid reached under the ring apron and brandished a 2x4 as a bleeding Bret started making it to his feet. Bret up and Kid drove the head end of the 2x4 into Bret's gut. Bret stumbled back into the ringside barricade holding his gut. Kid tossed the board. Kid blasted away on Bret with a series of head shots. Kid peeled Bret away from the ringside barricade and went to whip Bret into the ring post but Bret reversed and sent Kid slamming shoulder-first into the post. Kid stumbled off holding his shoulder as Bret slowly stalked Kid. Bret caught up to Kid, spun Kid around and laid into Kid with punches of his own. Kid staggered into the entrance aisle. Bret grabbed Kid and slammed Kid's head into the top of the barricade three times. Kid spun around and Bret pulled Kid away from the barricade and drove Kid back-first into the barricade. Kid crumpled to a knee on the floor. Since the match was No DQ, the ref could only stand in the ring and watch. Bret pulled Kid to his feet and sent Kid crashing into the barricade across the aisle. Kid staggered off and Bret followed. Bret came up behind Kid and clubbed Kid with a forearm smash to the back. Kid spun around and Bret went to suplex Kid on the unpadded entrance aisle floor but Kid twice blocked the move, caught Bret with a couple of shots to the side of the ribs and was able to maneuver Bret around and drive Bret back-first into the barricade. Kid quickly regained his bearings and moved in and caught Bret with a kick to the gut followed by some European uppercuts. Kid pulled Bret away from the barricade by the hair and walked Bret back to the ringside area. Kid threw Bret into the steel ring steps and Bret crumpled to the floor. Kid grabbed Bret and threw Bret into the ring and Kid followed. Bret got to his knees and a hand and Kid booted Bret in the side of the head. Bret went over holding the side of his head. Kid snapped Bret up, whipped Bret into the ropes and caught Bret coming off with a dropkick. Bret crashed to the mat. Bret up and Kid popped Bret with a second dropkick and Bret slammed into the buckles. Bret staggered out of the corner. Kid grabbed Bret and went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and caught Kid coming off with an inverted atomic drop. Kid crashed to the mat holding his jewels and Bret fell against the ropes. Bret briefly shook out the affects of the match and moved in and stomped away on Kid. Bret dragged Kid over to the corner. Bret dropped to the floor, reached into the ring and pulled Kid's legs around the ring post and locked Kid in the ring post figure 4. Bret fans roaring. Bret with the hold firmly locked in. Kid in serious agony. Bret kept the hold locked on for what must have seemed like an eternity to Kid. Bret finally released the hold. Kid painfully scooted on his ass back to the middle of the ring as Bret climbed back in.

Bret grabbed Kid's legs and, after a brief struggle, turned Kid over into the sharpshooter.

Schiavone: "Kid's just been hit with an atomic drop and locked in the ring post figure 4! I don't see how he survives being locked in the sharpshooter now!"

Kid in bad shape. Bret relentless in applying his signature move. Kid pushed his body up off the ground to try and alleviate the pressure. Kid in dire agony. Kid would not submit. Kid started moving towards the ropes locked in the hold. Kid stopped dead in his tracks and the pained expression on his face said it all. Kid then was able to finally move close enough to grab the bottom rope to force a break in the hold. Kid slowly, painfully made it to his feet with the aid of the ropes. Bret moved in and immediately laid into Kid with head and body shots. Bret whipped Kid into the ropes and looked to catch Kid coming off with a backdrop but Kid instead dived down and clubbed Bret in the back. Bret shot up and staggered off in pain. Bret turned to go back after Kid and Kid found the strength to uncoil and blast Bret with his spear finisher out of nowhere. Kid's fans erupted. Both men down. Kid managed to cover Bret. 1...2...thr... Bret got his foot on the bottom rope. Many in the crowd groaned. Kid snapped Bret up and threw Bret over the top rope and Bret crashed to the floor. Kid started hobbling around in the ring.

Madden: "That was actually a smart move by Kid because it gives him time to shake out some of the damage Bret did to his legs earlier."

There was no count out. Ref only there to count pinfalls and submissions. Bret started getting to his feet on the floor. Kid came over by the ropes as Bret got up. Kid reached down over the top rope, grabbed Bret by the hair and deliberately slammed Bret's head into the ring apron multiple times. Bret staggered around at ringside. Kid left the ring for the floor. Kid came up behind Bret, spun Bret around and nailed Bret with a series of European uppercuts. Kid grabbed Bret by the hair and charged over looking to slam Bret into the announcer's table but Bret shoved Kid off and Kid slammed violently, front-first into the table. Bret grabbed Kid and slammed Kid's head into the top of one of the TV monitors on the table. Kid went face down on the floor. Bret quickly re-gathered himself and shook out the affects of his third grueling match of the night. Bret went over and pulled Kid to his feet and Kid was now a member of the Crimson Mask Club. Bret threw Kid back into the ring and Bret followed. Kid to his knees. Bret moved in and popped Kid with more head shots, pulled Kid to his feet, whipped Kid into the ropes and nailed Kid coming off with a lariat. Kid crashed to the mat. Bret covered Kid. 1...2... Kid kicked out. Bret snapped Kid up and blasted Kid with a jumping vertical suplex. Kid laid out. Bret then nailed Kid with a standing leg drop. Bret again covered Kid and this time hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Kid kicked out. Bret started pulling Kid up and Kid stunned Bret with a headbutt out of nowhere. Bret stunned but still on his feet. Kid popped Bret with another headbutt and Bret crashed to the mat. Kid dropped to a knee. Kid up as Bret was getting up. Kid caught Bret with a kick to the gut, whipped Bret into the ropes and looked to catch Bret coming off with a clothesline but Bret ducked the move and came back and the men clotheslined each other to the mat. Both men down. Ref just stood there as there were no count outs in the match. Both men looking up at the lights. Bret rolled over and weakly covered Kid by slinging his arm across Kid's chest. 1... Kid kicked out. Both men still laying there for a few seconds. Both men slowly made it to their feet. Bret lunged at Kid and missed. Bret turned and Kid blasted Bret with an enzuigiri. Bret crashed face-first to the mat. Kid snapped Bret up and bodyslammed Bret and quick stomped him. Kid went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle. Crowd rose to its feet.

Schiavone: "Is he gonna try that devastating and dangerous diving headbutt he rarely uses?!"

Kid came off the top buckle with his diving headbutt finisher but Bret rolled out of the way and Kid slammed head-first into the mat. The impact led to Kid rolling over on his back and grabbing his head. Crowd buzzing. Bret slowly made his way to his feet and moved in and grabbed Kid's legs. Bret let out a deep breath and turned Kid, with little resistance, over into the sharpshooter. Kid in pain, his face covered in blood. Bret cinched up on the hold. Kid let out a yell of agony. Kid shook his vigorously that he would not submit when asked by the ref. Kid not moving towards the ropes and trapped mid-ring in the hold. The pain was written on Kid's face. Bret had the look of a determined man as he gritted his teeth and his eyes narrowed into slits. Crowd on the edges of their seats. Kid still fighting and finally started to move a little bit in the direction of the ropes. Kid then stopped in his tracks. Kid's eyes were shut and his mouth was hanging open, his face a mask of torture. Bret leaned back to apply more pressure to Kid's back and legs. It was just a few seconds later when Kid furiously tapped out. Ref called for the bell as the crowd, both Kid and Bret fans, roared.

Bret released the hold. Kid laying face down on the mat. Bret breathing heavily, the affects of three matches against a great opponent having taken their toll on him. Ref raised Bret's hand victory as the fans continued their cheering. Kid rolled over on his back and covered his face with his hands. Kid sat up in the ring as Bret stood off to the side watching him. Bret went over and offered Kid a hand to help him up but Kid waved off the gesture. Kid then very slowly and very painfully got to his feet. His face showed his pain. The two bloody ring warriors looked at each other as they still felt the affects of the match.

Bret slowly extended his hand to shake Kid's in a goodwill gesture. Kid looked at Bret for a few seconds. Kid then slowly raised his hand and finally, after all these months, shook Bret's hand. The crowd roared their approval. The two then embraced to more cheers. Kid then raised Bret's hand in victory. After Kid released Bret's hand, Bret returned the favor and raised Kid's hand in victory as a symbolic gesture. Crowd cheering just would not stop. The two talked briefly with each other. One more quick handshake between the two and Bret turned to leave the ring. When he got to the ropes, Bret turned and looked back at Kid. Kid started to hobble over to where Bret was. Kid gestured for Bret to leave first and Bret did and dropped to the floor. Kid painfully climbed through the ropes and slowly made his way down the ring steps and the two made their way back up the aisle together as the crowd continued to shower the men with cheers.

Match 8 (Steel Cage Match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships - Last chance for Los Lobos!)

Don Muraco & 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka (WTTC) vs. Los Lobos

('Will The Wolf Survive' <a href="https://youtu.be/00o7PlBQqow" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/00o7PlBQqow</a> by the band Los Lobos played and out came the team of Los Lobos to a good ovation. Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana were wearing silver satin vests with a wolf's head on the back bracketed by the words 'Los Lobos', black and red tights and black and red boots. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed in the cage and acknowledged the fans.

Muraco was in black tights and black boots. Snuka was in his tiger-striped tights, traditional Fijian headband and flip flops. Each man had a tag team title around his waist. The pair made their way down to the ring and Muraco and Snuka stood looking at the cage for a moment and then they climbed in and briefly played to the crowd to more boos and a small but vocal amount of cheers.

Crowd already buzzing.

Ring announcer Craig Johnson stood in the middle of the cage with mic in hand.

CJ: "This contest is scheduled for one fall with a 60-minute time limit and is for the World Class Wrestling World Tag Team Championships!

"If Los Lobos fails to win the titles tonight, they cannot challenge for the tag team championships again for as long as Jimmy Snuka and Don Muraco remain the champions!

"Introducing first, the challengers, weighing in at a combined weight of 476 pounds, Tito Santana and Manny Fernandez...Los Lobos!"

Crowd cheered and the pair acknowledged the response.

CJ: "And their opponents. They are the reigning World Class Wrestling World Tag Team Champions. Weighing in at a combined of weight of 520 pounds...Don Muraco and 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka!"

The pair briefly played to the mainly booing crowd but they did have their supporters.

Ref took the titles from the champs and walked around the ring holding the belts aloft for all to see before handing the belts off to Craig Johnson and Johnson left the cage with them.

Ref called both teams out to the middle of the ring and laid down the ground rules and patted all four men down before sending the teams back to their corners.

Snuka wrestled barefoot.

Ref called for the bell.

Muraco and Manny started for their teams. The two men tore out of their corners and engaged in a wild punch exchange as the crowd popped. Manny gained the upper hand and popped Muraco with a few more punches and then sent Muraco slamming head-first into the side of the cage. Muraco turned and walked right into Manny's forearm smash to the head (the Axe) finisher. Muraco crashed to the mat. Manny covered Muraco. 1... Snuka hit the ring, pulled Manny off of Muraco and slammed Manny head-first into the side of the cage. Manny went down in the ring. Manny and Muraco both down. Tito hit the ring and charged over and jumped on Snuka and started pounding the hell out of Snuka as the crowd roared. Ref trying to get the two separated. Muraco and Manny made it to their feet and Muraco charged up behind Manny and clubbed Manny with a forearm smash to the back. Manny stumbled forward and fell front-first into the ropes. Muraco grabbed Manny in a side headlock and nailed Manny with the Asiatic Spike to the throat. Manny writhing in pain. Ref finally able to separate Tito and Snuka and get both men back to their corners. Ref turned his attention back to the match and Muraco let go of Manny and Manny grabbed his throat and wandered off bent over. Muraco moved in and pounded Manny with a few shots to the back. Muraco grabbed Manny and pressed Manny's head into the steel mesh and scraped Manny's head along the cage. Muraco let go of Manny and Manny went down on his front side in the ring. Muraco walked over to Tito and goaded Tito into climbing into the ring. Tito started to climb in and the ref went over and intercepted Tito. Manny to a knee and now bleeding. Muraco moved in and snapped Manny up and threw Manny head-first into the side of the cage. Manny hurting. Manny turned and Muraco grabbed Manny and went to whip Manny into the ropes but Manny reversed and caught Muraco coming off with a backhand chop to the face. Muraco crashed to the mat. Manny turned and started to move in the direction of Tito but Muraco crawled over and grabbed Manny's ankle and pulled Manny's leg out from under him and Manny crashed front-first to the mat. Muraco up and spat in Tito's direction. Tito climbed in the ring and the ref once again intercepted him and ordered him back out on the apron. Manny to his hands and knees in the ring and Muraco stood over Manny and dropped his ass down on Manny's back and Manny went flat again. Tito saw what happened and the ref now had to physically restrain him from going after Muraco. Muraco took the opportunity to drag bloody Manny face-first across the mat. Muraco tagged in Snuka. Muraco got in one last stomp as Snuka hit the ring. Ref finally got Tito back out on the apron. Jimmy snapped up Manny and popped Manny with a jumping headbutt. Manny crashed to the mat. Snuka stomped Manny in the head. Snuka snapped Manny up and started choking Manny out on the top rope. Snuka broke the illegal move at the ref's count of 4. Snuka grabbed Manny by the hair and paraded Manny by Tito.

Snuka then whipped Manny into the ropes and looked to catch Manny coming off with a clothesline but Manny ducked the move and came back dropped Snuka with a clothesline of his own. Bloody Manny staggering around in the ring. Snuka up and went to punch Manny but Manny blocked the punch try and laid into Snuka with a series of head shots, whipped Snuka into the ropes and caught Snuka coming off with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Manny covered Snuka. 1...2... Snuka kicked out. Manny up and stomped Snuka. Manny pointed at Tito. Tito with his hand out. Manny still a little disoriented. Manny slowly moved in the direction of Tito and Snuka recovered enough and dived over and grabbed Manny by the ankle. After a brief struggle, Manny broke free, lunged over and tagged in Tito. Crowd popped as Tito came into the ring. Snuka up and Tito tore into Snuka with head shots. Tito whipped Snuka into the ropes and caught Snuka coming off with a dropkick. Snuka crashed to the mat. Tito grabbed Snuka as Snuka was getting to his feet and Tito did the honors and violently scraped Snuka's head across the steel mesh. Snuka went down on his front side in the ring. Tito went over and dared Muraco to step in the ring. Muraco started to step in but the ref intercepted Muraco and ordered him back out on the apron. Tito and Muraco had words as a bleeding Snuka made it ot his feet and jumped Tito from behind. Snuka pounded away on Tito, whipped Tito into the ropes and caught Tito coming off with a backhand chop to the face. Tito crashed to the mat. Snuka for the cover. 1...2... Tito kicked out. Snuka snapped Tito up and went to whip Tito into the buckles but Tito reversed and sent Snuka crashing into them. Tito followed Snuka in and blasted Snuka with a step-up enzuigiri. Snuka stumbled out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Tito covered Snuka. Before the ref could even count one, Muraco hit the ring and stomped Tito in the back to break up the pin try. Manny came in to go after Muraco but the ref intercepted Manny and ordered him back to his corner. Manny and the ref had a heated exchange. As Manny and the ref were distracted with each other, Muraco grabbed Tito, hoisted Tito up and nailed Tito with his White Trash Compactor (inverted piledriver) finisher. Tito laid out. Muraco went back to his corner. Snuka covered Tito and hooked the leg. Muraco yelled at the ref to turn around. Ref charged over, dived down and counted. 1... Manny hit the ring. ...2...thr... Manny stomped Snuka in the back of the head to break up the pin try. Muraco hit the ring and went after Manny. Muraco swung at Manny and missed and Manny laid into Muraco with punches and then sent Muraco's head slamming into the cage. Muraco crashed down front-first in the ring as most of the crowd cheered. Manny went back to his corner. Tito and Snuka to their feet and Snuka caught Tito with a kick to the gut, whipped Tito into the ropes and caught Tito coming off with a scoop slam. Shot of a bleeding Muraco back in his corner. Snuka then nailed Tito with a diving headbutt. Tito in bad shape. Snuka up and went over and tagged in Muraco.

Muraco hit the ring and stomped on the downed Tito. Muraco snapped Tito up, hoisted Tito across his shoulders for a Samoan Drop but Tito wriggled free from Muraco's grasp, dropped down to his feet behind Muraco and shoved Muraco. Muraco stumbled forward, turned and Tito caught Muraco with a kick to the gut followed by a DDT. Muraco down. Tito up and fell back against the ropes. Crowd buzzing. Muraco down holding the back of his neck. Tito lunged over and tagged in Manny to a loud pop and Manny climbed into the ring. Muraco to his knees and begging off. Manny stood over Muraco, snapped Muraco up by the hair and threw Muraco into all four sides of the cage. After the fourth cage shot, Muraco stumbled out, dropped to his knees and then his face in the ring. Manny snapped Muraco up, whipped Muraco into the ropes and, for the second time in the match, caught Muraco coming off with his forearm smash to the head finisher. Muraco crashed to the mat. Before Manny could even cover Muraco, Snuka hit the ring behind Manny and blasted Manny with a backstabber. Manny down and hurting. Tito hit the ring and charged over and caught Snuka with a head shot. Ref again had to grab Tito and physically restrain him and the ref started pushing Tito back to his corner. As the ref was tied up with Tito, Snuka snapped up Manny and blasted Manny with a jumping headbutt. Manny crashed back to the mat. Snuka back to his corner. Tito back in his corner. Muraco crawled over and covered Manny. Ref dived down to make the count. 1...2...thr... Manny kicked out. Fans popped like a giant zit. Muraco up and Manny rolled over on his side. Muraco started deliberately stomping on Manny and yelling for Manny to get up. Manny slowly made it to his feet. Manny briefly stunned Muraco with a punch but Muraco came right back and nailed Manny with a trio of gut punches. Muraco hoisted Manny across his shoulders and blasted Manny with a Samoan Drop. Muraco got to his feet and turned in Tito's direction and flipped Tito the double bird. Tito was furious and partially stepped through the ropes but the ref was right on top of things and Tito didn't come into the ring. Manny got to all fours and Muraco hit Manny with a brutal kick to the side of the ribs. Manny over on his side next to the ropes. Muraco reached down and started to snap Manny up and Manny caught Muraco with a series of gut shots that stunned Muraco. Manny to his feet and Muraco caught Manny with a series of knees to the gut. Muraco whipped Manny into the champs' corner and Muraco tagged in Snuka. Muraco got in a quick shoulder block to the gut. Snuka in and popped Manny with some head shots. Snuka pulled Manny out of the corner, whipped Manny into the ropes and looked to catch Manny coming off with a clothesline but Manny ducked the move and came back with a clothesline that sent Snuka crashing to the mat. Manny lunged over and tagged in Tito. Tito hit the ring as Snuka was getting up and popped Snuka with a dropkick. Snuka crashed to the mat. Snuka up and Tito hit him with a second dropkick and Snuka again went down. Tito grabbed Snuka and went to whip Snuka into the ropes but Snuka reversed and Tito slammed head-first into the cage. Tito stumbled and turned and walked right into a jumping headbutt from Snuka. Tito crashed to the mat. Snuka picked Tito up and nailed Tito with a rib breaker across the knee. Tito down.

Snuka went over and went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle. Snuka then turned and climbed to the top of the steel cage. Crowd on its feet. Snuka came off with his Superfly Death Leap finisher but Tito rolled out of the way and Snuka slammed into the mat. Crowd let out a collective roar/gasp. Tito and Snuka down. Ref counting. Tito slowly to his feet as Snuka got to a knee. Tito moved in and started to grab Snuka. Ref standing behind Tito. Snuka caught Tito with a headbutt to the groin. Tito stumbled back holding his goods.Ref reprimanded Snuka as Snuka got to his feet. Snuka moved in and blasted Tito with a big chop to the top of the head. Tito crashed to the mat. Snuka tagged in Muraco. Muraco came in and snapped Tito up and threw Tito into the corner. Muraco moved in and blasted Tito with a series of elbow strikes to the side of the head. Muraco pulled Tito out of the corner, hoisted Tito up on his shoulder and went to hit Tito with the snake eyes but Tito escaped Muraco's grasp, dropped to his feet behind Muraco and shoved Muraco forward and Muraco crashed front-first into the buckles. Muraco slowly extracted himself from the buckles and turned and Tito lunged over and tagged in Manny. Manny hit the ring and blasted Muraco with a series of head and body shots. Manny went to whip Muraco into the ropes but Muraco reversed and caught Manny coming off with a belly-to-belly overhead suplex. Manny down and hurting. Muraco briefly shook out the affects of the match and walked over and kicked Manny when he was down. Muraco snapped Manny up and went to whip Manny into the ropes but Manny reversed and, for the third time in the match, caught Muraco coming off with his forearm smash to the head finisher. Muraco crashed to the mat and Manny quickly regained his senses and dropped down and covered Muraco and hooked the leg. 1... Snuka hit the ring to break up the pin try. ...2... Tito hit the ring and and charged over and jumped on Snuka and drove Snuka into the corner. ...3! Ref called for the bell as the fans nearly blew the roof off the building.

Pyro exploded above the ring and on the entrance stage.

Ref went over by the cage door and took the titles and had a few words with Johnson.

Manny to his feet and Tito came over and the two briefly embraced before the ref handed them the tag team titles and raised their hands in victory.

Cheering continued.

Johnson: "In a time of 21 minutes, 9 seconds, your winners...and NEW World Class Wrestling World Tag Team Champions...Los Lobos!"

More cheers as the champs raised their newly won gold in the air for all to see.

(Shot of a one person cage shown hanging above the ring as announcers Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden welcomed viewers and ran down the program: The new tag team champions Los Lobos make an appearance; Tommy Rich vs. Tom Zenk; Paul Orndorff, Scott Hall & Larry Zbysko make an appearance; and more. Then sent it to the ring.)

(In-ring: Craig Johnson.

Johnson: "Welcome to WCW Mayhem! I'm Craig Johnson.

"We are coming to you from the great American city of El Paso, Texas!"

Crowd cheered.

Johnson: "With me right now is Tony Garea of the championship committee.

"Tony, what's the big news tonight?"

Garea: "Craig, before I get to that, we need Tru TV Champion Dick Slater to come out here."

Music-only version of 'The Crunge'

played and out came TV Champ Slater and manager Sherri Martel to strong boos. The pair were in street clothes and Slater had the TV Title slung over his shoulder. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed up on the apron. Sherri sat on the middle rope and opened the top rope and Slater stepped into the ring and Sherri followed. Slater and Sherri briefly played to the crowd.

Slater: "You know what, Garea? I think you like me because you call me out here so much."

Sherri looked up and saw the suspended cage above the ring. She gestured for Dick to look up and Dick did.

Sherri pointed at the cage and looked at Garea.

Sherri: "What's that for?"

Garea: "I'll get to that in a minute. But first, let's look at this from Slater's title defense against Sgt. Slaughter at 'Spring Breakout'."

Champ and his manager turned to face the JumboTron.

Slater went to hit Sarge with a head shot but Sarge blocked the punch try and fired away on Slater with a series of head shots that stunned Slater. Sarge then reared back and blasted Slater with a big roundhouse right to the jaw. The blow spun Slater around and Slater stumbled forward and fell to his knees with his head and shoulders hanging out over the middle rope. Sarge wanted to go after Slater but the ref intercepted Sarge and ordered Sarge to stand back. As Sarge had words with the ref, Sherri, on the floor, came came over to where Slater was, reached in her bra and brandished a small steel chain. Sherri handed the chain to Slater. Slater wrapped the chain around his right fist. Sarge had enough of the ref and blew by him and went over and peeled Slater up off the middle rope. Sarge spun Slater around and Slater blasted Sarge with his chain-laden right fist. Sarge crashed to the mat. Ref checked on Sarge as Slater, by the ropes, turned facing the crowd and dropped the chain into his tights.

Slater: "I've said it before and I'll say it again. I always go into a match with a sound game plan. Don't blame me or Sherri that Slaughter was stupid enough to get caught with his pants down. I won the match.

"I can't deny what's on the video, Garea. You have what you have. But who's still got the belt? That's the million dollar question. And the million dollar answer to that question is me."

Sherri applauded what her man said.

Sherri: "Tell him, babe! You're the champ! Not Sgt. Slaughter!"

Garea: "You won at 'Spring Breakout', Dick. The ref didn't catch what you had done and so it goes down in the record books as a victory for you. But it was a tainted win."

Slater: "Tainted. Untainted. Who cares? In this sport, it's all about winning. And if you ain't cheatin' then you ain't tryin'."

Garea: "Pro wrestling is the hardest sport of all to referee because of all the things that can happen. And having a manager at ringside can make it impossible for a referee to remain totally focused on the match itself.

"So, here is what's gonna happen. In our main event tonight, Dick Slater, you will be defending the Tru TV Championship in a re-match against Sgt. Slaughter!"

Crowd popped.

Slater and Sherri not happy.

Slater: "What?!"

Sherri: "No! No! No! No! No!"

Garea: "Yes! Yes! Yes!

"And Sherri, remember when you were asking about that cage suspended up there?"

Buzz rippled throughout the crowd.

Sherri seemed puzzled for a moment but it did not last long as she suddenly realized who that cage was for.

Sherri: "I am not going in that cage! No way! You can't do this!"

Slater: "She's my manager! What kind of an outrage is this?!"

Garea: "She's going in that cage or you, Dick Slater, will be stripped of the Tru TV Championship and it will be awarded to Sgt. Slaughter!"

More cheers.

Slater: "You can threaten me all you want, Garea! I'll defend the title tonight! But Sherri's gonna be in my corner!"

Sherri: "I have a manager's license! That means I have the right and the duty to be in my man's corner for all of his matches! I have the right to have both feet on the ground!"

Garea: "No one's stopping you from managing Slater tonight! You'll just be doing it from 30-feet in the air!"

Slater: "You may think you've outsmarted me, you Aussie SOB, but I'll come up with a game plan and, like all my other plans, it will be a winner for me!"

Garea: "Plan all you like. Your manager's still going in that cage and into the air to prevent her from affecting the outcome of the match this evening!"

An incensed Slater and Sherri just looked at Garea as Garea shot a look back at them.

Johnson: "You heard it, fans! Dick Slater defends the Tru TV Championship in a re-match against Sgt. Slaughter in our main event and manager Sherri Martel will be suspended in a cage above ringside for the match.

"Tony and Mark, back to you!")

(Announcers discussed the main event being made for later tonight. Hyped still to come: The new tag team champions Los Lobos make an appearance; and Tommy Rich vs. Tom Zenk. Said Paul Orndorff, Larry Zbysko and Scott Hall make an appearance after the break.)

(Pics aired from the Ric Flair-Paul Orndorff match with Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko acting as the special referees and showed that Zbysko, Hall and Orndorff were really working together all this time.)

(In-ring:

'All Along The Watchtower'

and Scott Hall, Larry Zbysko and Paul Orndorff came out to strong boos but they also had their share of fans. The trio was in street clothes and all three men had mics. The men made their way to the ring and climbed in and briefly and arrogantly strutted around and played to the crowd.

Hall: "Hey yo!

"Looks like Ric Flair was right all along about us!"

More boos.

Hall: "Gotta give the 'Nature Boy' credit! He had this thing figured out almost from the beginning!

"When Flair got that stipulation added to his match against Paul at 'Spring Breakout' where all the wrestlers and managers were barred from ringside, me and Larry were a little worried! We wanted the big reveal to happen at 'Spring Breakout' and that couldn't happen if we weren't allowed around the ring!

"So, we had a late night meeting at a strip club and looked for ways around the stipulation! And Paul here hit upon the absolutely brilliant idea of having us be the referees! It was the only way we could be out there for certain!

"We also had to come up with a way to get Flair to agree with me and Larry being the refs for the match! And leave it to Paul, he also came up with having me and Larry pretend to end our friendship and take sides! We didn't know if Flair, or WCW, would bite on this, but we had to take the chance and roll the dice! And whaddaya know?! Flair took the bait! Once Flair agreed to have me as Larry as the refs, it was a done deal!

"And we stand before you today as a publicly united front! We'd been united behind the scenes for months! And when we revealed our plan to the world, we wanted it to be with gusto! And we did not disappoint ourselves, man!

"The next thing we needed to come up with was a name for our newly formed band of outlaws! Larry, tell 'em what it is!"

Zbysko: "Thank you, Scott Hall!

"We had to come up with a name that screamed power; a name that shows we're one of the most cohesive units in wrestling!

"So we're calling ourselves the New World Order!"

Hall and Orndorff laughed as some in the crowd gasped.

Zbysko : "Hahaha! Just kidding! We're not going there again!"

Hall: "No! Been there! Done that!"

Zbysko: "The name we decided on...you can call us...The Firm!"

Crowd buzzed. Some cheered.

Hall: "Larry, tell 'em the name I came up with, bro!"

Zbysko: "Oh yeah! Haha! Scott wanted to call us the Anti-Flair Brigade!

"We thought the better of it because with a name like that, a lot of the wrestlers in WCW would want to join! We're an elite unit and will remain that way!"

Hall: "We're not opening The Firm up to everybody the way Bischoff did with the NWO?!"

Zbysko: "Not a chance! Guys like Virgil and Disco Inferno need not apply!

"The bottom line as to why The Firm was formed is two-fold!

"Reason Number One: We're three of the best wrestlers you'll find anywhere today! Just look at who's standing in this ring before you right now! 'The Bad Guy'! The 'Living Legend'! And 'Mr. Wonderful'!"

More boos but also some cheers.

Zbysko: "The second reason the group was formed is because we're all in agreement on one thing! Sure, there are times when we'll disagree with each other over something! But the one thing we'll never disagree on is...our burning hatred for Ric Flair!"

Boos grew louder and a few pieces of trash were thrown at the ring.

Zbysko: "And here to tell you why we all hate Ric Flair, and this guy really hates him, Paul Orndorff!"

The three men high fived one another as Orndorff stepped forward.

Orndorff briefly soaked in the mostly negative crowd reaction.

Orndorff: "Thank you all for that wonderful, no pun intended, welcome!"

More boos.

Orndorff: "When I signed with WCW in late 2015, one of the first things I was told was that Ric Flair was the flagship of the promotion! And 'flagship' was the word that was used! Everything revolved around Ric Flair and keeping him happy! The sun rises and sets on Ric Flair in WCW even though he's not even in the World Title picture right now! They also told me not to get on Ric's bad side! When I asked why, they said that if it comes down to deciding who goes between Ric Flair and someone else, the person not named Ric Flair would be shown the door!

"I wrestled in a tag team with Ric for several months! Ric was pretty full of himself! Oh! You Flair marks don't want to hear that! You love Ric Flair and he can walk on water! But over time, I got tired of what I'll call the Flair routine! This company caters to that man's every whim! He's the highest paid wrestler in WCW! And yet he's not even a challenger for any belt as I talk to you! I started to resent having to walk on eggshells around the man who may have the most fragile ego in this sport! That's right! Ric Flair is an insecure, thin-skinned individual!

"One night when I was out on the town late last October, I happened to bump into Scott and Larry at a bar down in Florida. Normally, I would have avoided these guys in a public setting. But Larry told me they heard I'd had some problems with Flair. Ric and I were still a tag team then. The three of us sat in that bar and drank a few brews and found that none of us really liked Ric Flair. I grew to despise him. Scott and Larry have never liked the guy.

"We kept in touch over the phone since, as you may recall, WCW wasn't running in October and early November last year. But, once we got the call to come back to work, we met up a few times secretly and devised a plan. And that plan was to play mind games with Ric Flair!

"We didn't know how long we were going to keep it up. But the plan was working so well over a period of several months that we decided we were gonna show the world that we were working together against Ric Flair at 'Spring Breakout'! Everything fell neatly into place for us! Flair didn't know who to trust! But we three trusted each other all along! We knew how it was going to play out in the end!

"So, for the forseeable future, we've decided to make life as miserable as possible for Ric Flair in WCW! He deserves our wrath! And we won't stop torturing Ric until he's loaded in the back of an ambulance, taken away and locked up in a padded room in a straight jacket in the loony bin!"

Crowd mostly booed as the three men put their right hands out and placed them on each other.

Hall: "Who are we?!"

In unison: "The Firm!")

(Announcers discussed The Firm giving their reasons for doing what they did. Hyped still to come: Tru TV Championship: Dick Slater (TVC) vs. Sgt. Slaughter (Sherri Martel will be suspended in a cage above the ring); new World Tag Team Champions Los Lobos make and appearance; and more. Said Tom Zenk vs. Tommy Rich was coming up next!)

Tom Zenk vs. 'Wildlife' Tommy Rich

('Do I Have To Do This All Over Again'

played and out came Zenk to a good ovation. Zenk was in neon green tights with 'Zenk' written in purple lettering across the back and white ring boots. Zenk slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring and then climbed in and briefly acknowledged the crowd.

'Rocky Top'

filled the arena and out came Tommy Rich to pretty strong boos. Rich came to the ring wearing a black t-shirt with the word 'Wildfire' in red letters with flames rising up from the letters on the front. Rich was also wearing black tights with a flame trim around the lower half of the tights and black boots with flames going up the outside of each boot. Rich made his way to the ring and climbed in and ignored the crowd.

Ref called for the bell.

The two men came out of their corners and the physically unspectacular Rich decided to strike a few bodybuilder poses. Zenk stood there with hands on hips and started laughing...and so did some in the crowd. Rich looked out at the crowd with a hurt look on his face.

An unhappy Rich picked up on a mic.

Rich: "Why don't you do it then, Tom?!"

The muscular Zenk struck a few bodybuilder poses to the delight of the crowd.

Rich went to kick Zenk and Zenk grabbed Rich's foot, spun Rich all the way around and dropped Rich with a clothesline. Zenk snapped Rich up and nailed Rich with a suplex followed by a jumping elbow smash to the chest. Zenk for the cover. 1...2... Rich kicked out. Zenk snapped Rich up and whipped Rich into the buckles. Zenk moved in and popped Rich in the head with a series of punches. The stunned Rich suddenly reached down, pulled Zenk's legs out from under him and Rich rolled-up Zenk for the pinfall. 1... Rich placed his foot on the middle rope for leverage. ...2... Zenk got a shoulder up. Rich took his foot off the rope just before the ref looked over. Rich tried to pin Zenk again. 1... Rich again placed a foot on the middle rope for leverage. ...2... Ref looked over and saw Rich's foot on the middle rope and ordered Rich to remove it. Rich did and grabbed Zenk's legs and dragged Zenk to the middle of the ring and applied the spinning toe hold on Zenk. Zenk was able to use his free foot to kick Rich off. Rich went down. Both men to their feet and Rich charged at Zenk and swung wildly at Zenk and missed and Zenk fired away on Rich with head shots. Zenk whipped Rich into the ropes and blasted Rich coming off with a dropkick. Rich crashed to the mat and rolled out onto the ring apron. Ref ordered Zenk to stand back and Zenk did so. Ref started the 20-count. Rich slowly made it to his feet on the apron. Zenk moved in on Rich and Rich hit Zenk with a couple of shoulder blocks to the gut. Zenk was holding the top rope and Rich went for a sunset flip on Zenk but couldn't take Zenk over and Zenk was able to pop Rich with a head shot. End of sunset flip try. Zenk stomped Rich, snapped Rich up, whipped Rich into the ropes and caught Rich coming off with a high backdrop. Rich crashed to the mat. Rich up and Zenk charged in and blasted Rich with a running clothesline. Rich down again. Zenk for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2... Rich kicked out. Zenk snapped Rich up and bodyslammed the dazed Rich. Zenk went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle as Rich got to his feet. Rich up and turned and Zenk came off with a missle dropkick that connected. Rich crashed back to the mat. Zenk again for the cover. 1...2...thr... Rich kicked out. Crowd groaned. Zenk snapped Rich up, whipped Rich into the ropes and looked to catch Rich coming off with a clothesline but Rich ducked the move and came back with a Thesz Press on Zenk. Rich down on top of Zenk and popped Zenk with some head shots. Rich up and stomped Zenk in the head. Zenk rolled over on his side holding his head. Rich struck a few more unimpressive bodybuilder poses for the crowd to a mix of boos and laughter. Rich snapped Zenk up and locked Zenk in a front facelock. Rich cinched up on the hold. Zenk then maneuvered around while locked in the hold and drove Rich back-first into the buckles. Rich lost his grip on the hold. Zenk popped Rich with a series of shoulder blocks to the gut. Zenk whipped Rich into the opposite buckles. Zenk charged in on Rich and Rich moved and Zenk slammed front-first into the buckles. Zenk quickly extricated himself from the buckles and turned and Rich caught Zenk with a kick to the hut. Rich went to hoist Zenk up for the piledriver but Zenk twice blocked the move and backdropped Rich to the mat. Both men up and Rich moved in and caught Zenk with a couple of knees to the gut. Rich went to whip Zenk into the ropes but Zenk reversed and caught Rich coming off with a powerslam. Rich appeared to flatline.

Crowd booed as Eric Embry, in street clothes, charged down the aisle to the ring and jumped up on the apron. Zenk went over and started yelling at Embry. Ref came over and ordered Embry off the apron. Zenk, enraged by the mere sight of Embry, suddenly grabbed Embry and the two started struggling with each other. Rich to his feet and charged up behind Zenk and hit Zenk with a forearm smash to the back. Zenk slammed into Embry. Embry crashed to the floor. Rich dropped down and rolled the stunned Zenk up from behind for the pin. 1... Rich grabbed a handful of tights. ...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd booed.

Rich quickly released Zenk and got to his feet. Ref raised Rich's in victory. Zenk got to his feet as Rich was strutting around the ring victorously. Rich looked over and saw Zenk and Zenk chased Rich out of the ring. Embry up on the floor and a little groggy. Zenk glared at Embry from the ring. Rich walked over to where Embry was and Embry added insult to injury by raising Rich's hand in victory. Embry was laughing and had a sinister sneer on his face. Zenk gestured for Embry to get in the ring. Embry just stayed on the floor, looking up and laughing at Zenk. Zenk then started to leave the ring for the floor and Embry and Rich started backing up the aisle. Zenk was standing at ringside glaring at the pair. Zenk then started to chase Rich and Embry and Zenk chased the men to the back.

WINNER: Rich - Pinfall - Roll-up from behind - 5:34)

(Announcers discussed Rich beating Zenk thanks to a distraction from Eric Embry. Hyped still to come: Tru TV Championship: Dick Slater (TVC) vs. Sgt. Slaughter. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson in the locker room of Sgt. Slaughter. Sarge, come on in here."

Sarge walked into the interview area in his ring attire.

Hudson: "Tonight, you've got your chance at redemption when you face Dick Slater again for the Tru TV Championship. And this time, his manager Sherri Martel will be suspended above the ring in a cage to make sure she can't affect the outcome of the match. What are you thinking right now heading into this big re-match?"

Sarge: "Scott Hudson, it's like this!

"I had Dick Slater on the ropes at 'Spring Breakout'! I could taste victory! I had my revenge on Slater and it was snatched away thanks to Sherri Martel handing Slater that chain that he used to knock me senseless long enough to steal the victory!

"But that's not gonna happen tonight! His manager will be suspended high above the ring in a cage! Slater's lost his trump card! How many times has that devil of a woman helped Slater snatch victory from the jaws of defeat?!"

Hudson: "Quite a few since he's been the TV Champion."

Sarge: "That's right! Dick Slater eats, sleeps and breaths being a champion! It's what he lives for!

"But tonight, with the playing field being level, he's not gonna have someone at ringside to bail his butt out of trouble!

"If Dick Slater's gonna beat me tonight, he's gonna have to do it like a man! He's gonna have to win cleanly and I don't know if Slater has that ability in his DNA!

"I'm gunning for you, Slater! And this time it's just gonna be you and me and your manager will only be able to watch from a distance!"

Hudson: "It's Dick Slater defending the Tru TV Championship against Sgt. Slaughter in a re-match from 'Spring Breakout' and Slater's manager Sherri Martel will be suspended above the ring in a cage in our main event tonight on 'Mayhem'!")

(Announcers hyped the main event. Said the new tag team champions make an appearance next!)

(Commercials)

(Video aired from the locker room of champagne celebration for Los Lobos right after they defeated Muraco and Snuka at 'Spring Breakout' to win the tag team titles.)

(In-ring: Craig Johnson.

Johnson: "We are back on 'Mayhem'.

"Would you please welcome my guests at this time. They are the NEW World Tag Team Champions...Los Lobos!"

'Will The Wolf Survive'

played and out came Los Lobos to a solid crowd reaction. Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana were in street clothes. They each had a belt slung over their shoulder. They slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring. The pair climbed into the ring and each man walked to a corner, mounted the middle buckle and raised the tag titles in the air to more cheers. They then walked over to Johnson and soaked in the cheers a little longer.

Johnson: "Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana, congratulations on becoming the new World Tag Team Champions! You did it!"

More cheers.

Tito: "We did, Craig, and it's a great feeling.

"It was our last chance. And that cage match was quite the battle. Both teams put up quite a fight. But it was great to not only win the belts, but to take them from the team that has gone out of their way to be a thorn in our side for months.

"Muraco and Snuka may be great wrestlers. But they run their mouths to get under their opponent's skin and they use whatever tactics they feel are necessary to win. Well, at 'Spring Breakout', I'm proud to say that no matter what they tried it didn't work this time.

"These belts are now in the hands of men who will defend them with honor and integrity."

More cheers.

Tito: "We won these belts not only for ourselves, but also for the people out there who respect decency and fairness. These are just as much the fans' titles as they are ours. Ariba!"

Johnson: "Manny."

Manny: "I can't even begin to tell you people how great it feels to be the champions! And I have to admit great personal satisfaction at not only being the man who scored the pinfall...but pinning that loudmouth Don Muraco!

"We said it in an interview at 'Spring Breakout', Craig! To shut up bullies you have to beat them up and take their stuff and that's just what we did! We took the most prized possessions Muraco and Snuka had, these belts!"

The two raised their belts again to more cheers.

Johnson: "Well, Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka aren't here tonight. But they did record a message after losing the titles at 'Spring Breakout'. Let's take a look."

VIDEO:

Muraco and Snuka were standing in their locker room in their ring attire. Both men had mics. They were still bleeding from being busted open in the cage.

Muraco: "Los Lobos. Congratulations are in order. You beat us. You finally beat us. It only took you four tries to win the titles.

"You shouldn't have had that fourth and final shot at 'Spring Breakout' as far as we're concerned. But, the WCW brass was determined to give you one more chance to become the champions because they hate me and Jimmy because we're a couple of Pacific-Islander boys who speak the truth and are still the world's best tag team.

"We held those titles for 14 of the last 15 months. We lost the belts before to the Skyscrapers. And they were the World Tag team Champions for all of one month before we beat them and became the champs once again.

"It's not a question of if we're going to become three-time tag team champions. Oh no. It's only a question of when we're gonna win them again.

"So, Manny and Tito, you enjoy this moment because it's not going to last very long for you.

"We'll be back, soon, and we'll be the tag team champions once more very shortly."

Snuka: "I'm already pissed, Don.

"The match at 'Spring Breakout' should never have happened in the first place. We've been the best team in the world for a long time now. In this sport, even the undeserving fall into some good luck and win a championship.

"Los Lobos, you just make sure to take care of those titles. Because they're gonna be back around these waists real soon. See you then."

Johnson: "What do you guys think of what the former champions just said?"

Tito: "It's not a surprise. Muraco and Snuka are so arrogant and full of themselves that they seem to think their names should be permanently engraved on these belts.

"We know we'll fight them again. We know it will be sooner rather than later. And we're gonna do everything in our power to make sure they remain frustrated ex-champions."

Manny: "They have the re-match clause in their contract! We know they're gonna trigger it! They can't stand the thought of being the former champions!

"They'll never say it, but this is eating them up inside! It's driving them nuts!

"And that's a good thing!"

Crowd cheered.

Manny: "So, Muraco and Snuka, you go ahead and trigger the re-match clause! We'll be here waiting for you with these!"

Los Lobos walked around the ring holding the titles up as the fans cheered.

Johnson: "The re-match is coming. It's only a matter of when.

"Los Lobos, everybody!"

More cheers as 'Will The Wolf Survive' played and the segment ended.)

(Announcers discussed a future re-match between Los Lobos and the former champs Snuka and Muraco.)

Match 2 (Tru TV Championship - Sherri Martel to be suspended above the ring in a cage)

'Dirty' Dick Slater (TVC) w/ Mgr. Sherri Martel vs. Sgt. Slaughter

(Marine Corps Hymn https://youtu.be/kIhiMqz7iuE filled the arena and out came Slaughter to a strong ovation. Slaughter was in his black, leg-length singlet with 'USA' in red, white and blue lettering on the outside of each leg and red, white and blue stars above the 'U' and below the 'A', black and green ring boots with his stripe rank on the outside of each boot and his DI hat. Slaughter made his way down the aisle and handed out little American flags to fans along the way. Sarge climbed into the ring and walked to the middle of the ring and turned to all four sides and saluted the fans.

Music-only version of 'The Crunge'

played and out came Dick Slater and Sherri Martel to strong boos. Slater was in a black satin ring jacket with 'Slater' written in red block lettering across the back and a thin red stripe running down the outside of each sleeve, black tights with two red stripes running down the outside of each leg, and white boots with black trim. The title was around his waist. Sherri was in a red dress that flaunted her curves, black stockings and black heels.

Slater and Sherri got to ringside and looked over at the cage. Sherri was clearly shaken. The pair walked slowly over to the cage. The door was open and a WCW official was standing by the cage. Slater and Sherri had a few words with each other and then hugged. Sherri was a quivering mass on the verge of tears. She cried to Slater that she didn't want to go into the cage and Dick told her he understood. Official gestured for and told Sherri to get in the cage. Slater got pissed the the official and grabbed the lapels of his suit jacket and Slater started shaking him. Sarge left the the ring for the floor and grabbed Slater from behind, pulled Slater off the official and threw Slater into the ringside barricade as the crowd cheered. Slater went down on the floor. Sherri turned to make a break for it but Sarge quickly grabbed Sherri by the arm, pulled her back and shoved her into the cage. The official closed the door and locked it to louder cheers. Sarge gestured with his thumbs up to lift the cage. Cage started going up and Sherri was screaming hysterically. Slater to his feet on the floor and was seething.

Slater picked up on a mic:

Slater: "Sarge! You scumbag!"

Sarge looked over at Slater. The two men glared at one another. Ref dropped to the floor and he and the WCW suit who closed the cage kept the two men apart. Slater wanted a piece of Sarge right then but was restrained from doing so. After things cooled down, both men were ordered to get in the ring. Sherri still screaming as the cage kept rising. Slater looked up and blew Sherri a kiss. Sarge already in the ring. Slater climbed into the ring and went to his corner.

Craig Johnson stood center ring with mic in hand.

Johnson: "This contest is scheduled for one fall with a 30-minute time limit and is for the Tru TV Championship!"

Crowd cheered.

Johnson: "This match has been sanctioned by the World Class Wrestling Championship Committee!

"Introducing first...the challenger! He hails from Parris Island, South Carolina! Weighing in at 308 pounds...Sgt. Slaughter!"

Crowd cheered as Sarge stepped out of his corner and pumped his fist in the air.

Johnson: "And his opponent! Hailing from Richmond, Virginia! Weighing in at 235 pounds...he is the reigning Tru TV Champion...'Dirty' Dick Slater!"

Slater was booed but paid no attention to the intro and looked up at his manager/girlfriend suspended in mid-air.

Ref took the title from Slater and held it aloft while walking around the ring for all to see. Ref then handed the belt off to Johnson.

Ref called both men to the middle of the ring. Ref laid down the ground rules and patted each man down as Slater and Sarge eyed one another.

Ref sent each man back to his corner.

Ref called for the bell.

Slater immediately stepped out on the ring apron, demanded the ring mic and got it.

Slater: "I want it known that I am wrestling this match under protest!"

Crowd booed as Slater tossed the mic.

Slater stepped back into the ring. The two men sized each other up and engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up and Slater got up inside on Sarge and popped Sarge with a series of knees to the gut. Slater clubbed Sarge in the back and Sarge went down to a knee. Slater popped Sarge with a head shot, snapped Sarge up and went to whip Sarge into the ropes but Sarge reversed and caught Slater coming off with a head shot. Slater crashed to the mat. Sarge snapped Slater up, drove Slater into the ropes and laid into Slater with a series of deliberate forearm smashes to the chest. Sarge whipped Slater into the ropes and looked to catch Slater coming off with a backdrop but Slater caught Sarge in a front facelock and blasted Sarge with a neckbreaker. Sarge down. Slater covered Sarge. 1...2... Sarge kicked out. Slater up and stomped on Sarge. Slater snapped Sarge up and nailed Sarge with a suplex. Slater backed into the ropes and came off with a running knee drop but Sarge rolled out of the way and Slater crashed knee-first into the mat. Slater down holding his knee. Sarge up as Slater got to his knees and Sarge moved in behind Slater and locked Slater in the cobra clutch and pulled Slater to his feet as the crowd cheered. Slater struggled in the hold. Slater started to slowly fade and then Slater, still locked in the hold, lunged forward and he and Sarge toppled through the top and middle rope and crashed to the floor. Sarge lost his grip on the hold. Shot of Sherri looking on from the cage. Ref started the 20-count. Both men slowly made it to their feet and Sarge caught Slater with a kick to the gut and locked Slater into position for the piledriver but Slater instead backdropped Sarge to the floor. Slater stomped away on Sarge and then quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the count. Slater snapped Sarge up and sent Sarge crashing into the ringside barricade. Sarge leaned sideways against the barricade. Slater pulled Sarge's left arm away from his body and kicked Sarge in the side of the ribs. Sherri heard shrieking from the cage in support of her man. Slater peeled Sarge off the barricade and slammed Sarge's head into the ring apron. Sarge staggered off next to the apron. Slater came behind Sarge and grabbed Sarge and sent Sarge slamming shoulder-first into the ringside barricade. Sarge stumbled off holding his shoulder. Ref counting. Slater came up behind Sarge and clubbed Sarge with a double sledge to the back and Sarge stumbled forward and went down. Slater rolled in and out of the ring to break the count. Slater reached down and started to pull Sarge up when Sarge grabbed Slater and rammed Slater back-first into the ring apron. Slater leaned next to the apron and hurting. More Sherri screams. Sarge found the strength to pop Slater with some head shots. Ref counting. Sarge peeled Slater away from the apron and went to whip Slater into the metal ring steps but Slater reversed and sent Sarge crashing into them. Sarge down on the floor. Slater quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the count. Slater then reached under the ring apron and brandished a folded up steel chair. Slater raised the chair over his head and went to go hit Sarge with it but the ref reached through the top and middle ropes and snatched the chair from Slater's hands. Slater turned and looked up and had a few words for the ref as Sarge got to his feet. Slater turned and Sarge charged over and flattened Slater with a Slaughter Cannon on the floor. Crowd popped. Sherri went nuts.Sarge briefly shook out the affects of the match, snatched Slater up off the floor and threw Slater back into the ring and Sarge followed. Sarge snapped Slater up and whipped Slater into the corner.

Sarge moved in and pelted Slater with a stiff series of open hand chest chops. Slater staggered out of the corner, spun around and crashed to his back on the mat. Sarge then nailed Slater with the Garvin Stomp and then dropped down and covered Slater and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Slater kicked out. Crowd groaned. Sarge snapped Slater up, bodyslammed Slater, dropped an elbow smash across Slater's chest and covered Slater again. 1....2... Slater kicked out once more. Sarge popped the downed Slater with a trio of head shots, snapped Slater up and went to whip Slater into the ropes but Slater reversed and caught Sarge coming off with a kick to the gut and then Slater hoisted Sarge up and blasted Sarge with a piledriver. Sherri shrieked with joy. Both men down. Ref counting. Sarge rolled over on his side holding the back of his neck. Slater slowly to his feet and stomped Sarge in the back. Slater snapped Sarge up and and bodyslammed Sarge. Slater backed into the ropes and came off with a running knee drop to the chest that connected. Slater for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Sarge got a shoulder up. Crowd cheered. Sherri howling in agony. Slater to his knees next to the hurting Sarge and Slater quickly regained his bearings and snapped Sarge up and whipped Sarge into the buckles. Sarge hurting. Slater moved in and started choking Sarge out with his boot. Slater broke the illegal move at the ref's count of 4. Sarge staggered out of the corner holding his throat and went down and rolled out on the ring apron. Slater came over by the ropes and pushed Sarge off the apron with his foot and Sarge crashed to the floor. Slater looked over and pointed up at Sherri in the cage. Sherri cheering/screaming on her man. Ref ordered Slater to stand back in the ring but Slater ignored the ref and dropped to the floor. Slater snapped Sarge up and drove Sarge back-first twice into the ringside barricade. Sarge went down to his hands and knees on the floor. Ref counting. Slater snapped Sarge up and went to whip Sarge into the ringside barricade on an opposite side of the ring but Sarge reversed and sent Slater crashing into the barricade. Slater stumbled forward and went down on the floor. Sarge down on a knee. Count rising. Sarge rolled in and out of the ring and broke the count. Slater started getting up. Sarge moved in and blasted Slater with a series of head shots. Sarge then suplexed Slater on the floor. Both men down. Ref counting. Sarge made it to his feet, snapped Slater up and threw Slater back into the ring and Sarge followed. Sarge moved in and stomped Slater in the head. Sarge snapped Slater up and whipped into the buckles. Slater crashed hard into the buckles, staggered out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Sarge snapped up Slater and went to whip Slater into the ropes but Slater reversed and sent Sarge crashing full-force into the referee. Ref crashed to the mat with the heavier Sarge on top of him. Both men down.

Slater looked up at Sherri and gestured with his hands. Sherri reached into her bra and pulled out an object and dropped it out through an opening in the cage. The object dropped to the floor. It was the small steel chain Slater had used to beat Sarge at 'Spring Brekout'. Slater dropped to the floor and retrieved the chain. Sarge starting to stir. Slater climbed into the ring and brazenly wrapped the chain around his fist. Sarge started getting up. Slater lying in wait. Sarge up and turned and Slater moved in to punch Sarge with his chain-laden right fist but Sarge blocked the punch try and fired away on Slater with a series of head shots and then reared back and pulverized Slater with a big roundhouse right to the jaw. Slater crashed to the mat and dropped the chain. Crowd roaring as Sarge grabbed the chain and threw it out of the ring. Sherri all hysterical. Sarge stood back and assumed the position as a shaky Slater made it to his feet. Ref regaining his senses. Slater up and Sarge charged in and blasted Slater with his Slaughter Cannon finisher. Slater laid out. Sarge quickly dragged the ref over, dropped down and covered Slater. 1....2....3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd went nuts.

Pyro went off above the ring and on the entrance stage.

Ref hobbled over and took the title from Craig Johnson and had a few words with him. Cage holding a screaming Sherri being lowered to the ground.

Sarge up and the ref went over and handed Sarge the title and raised Sarge's hand in victory to the delight of the crowd.

Johnson: "In a time of 14 minutes, 24 seconds, you winner...and NEW Tru TV Champion...Sgt. Slaughter!"

More cheers as an exhausted Sarge leaned front-first against the ropes and held the title in the air with one hand. Cage had lowered and the door was opened and Sherri stepped out of the cage with a look of horror on her face.

Sherri picked up on a mic:

Sherri (screaming): "Nooooooooooooooo! Noooooooooo-ho-ho!"

Sarge stepped back from the ropes and held the title in the air with both hands to more crowd approval as the program faded to black.

WINNER: Sarge - Pinfall - Slaughter Cannon - 14:24)

IT'S A SPECIAL WRESTLEMANIA EDITION OF

OLD SCHOOL WRESTLING CINEMA!!!

This will be my OSWC post for this week!

With it being Wrestlemania weekend, I've decided to turn the clock back and take a look at two matches from Wrestlemania 2.

The show featured three good matches and two of them are posted here.

First, it's legit brothers Terry & Dory (aka, Hoss) Funk vs. Tito Santana & Junkyard Dog.

This tag match was my favorite match of the first two Wrestlemanias.

(Announcers Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden welcomed viewers and ran down the program: Main Event: The Skyscrapers Re-Unite! Skyscrapers vs. Paul Orndorff & Scott Hall of The Firm; 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor makes an appearance; Bret Hart vs. Mr. Anderson; and more. Then sent it to the ring.)

(In-ring:

Flair was in street clothes and had a mic. Flair made his way to the ring and climbed in. Flair walked around for a moment and was all business. He had a somber look on his face.

Flair: "The suspicion I've had for months turned out to be true at 'Spring Breakout'. I knew that Paul Orndorff was colluding with Scott Hall and Larry Zbysko.

"Last week, those three came out here and bragged to the world about why they did it. They even gave themselves a name...The Firm.

"I think a better name would be the Three Assholes."

Crowd cheered.

Flair: "Paul Orndorff said that his goal in wrestling right now is to make my life a living hell.

"But I'm here to tell you something...

"I am not going to back down from The Firm! Orndorff, Zbysko and Hall, I'm not going anywhere! I'm not running! You guys hear me?! The 'Nature Boy' is here to fight!

"And it's a fight that you want and you will get it from me! Whoo!"

Crowd did the whoo and cheered.

Flair: "I wasn't surprised one bit by what went down at 'Spring Breakout'! I could see what was going on but I just couldn't prove it! And then those three proved my point for me!

"Now, here I stand! And I'm gonna throw out a challenge right now! I challenge any member of The Firm to a match next week!"

More cheers.

Flair: "Just one of you in The Firm stand up and be a man and sign on the dotted line and let's get down to business in this ring!

"I've said it before: I'm the dirtiest player in the game! And The Firm is gonna see how dirty I can get starting next week if they take me up on my offer!"

Flair started walking around in the ring as the crowd cheered.

Voice: "Hey, Flair! You wanna match with a member of The Firm?!"

Crowd booed as Larry Zbysko came walking to the aisle in street clothes with mic in hand. Flair looked on as Zbysko climbed into the ring. Zbysko wlaked right up to Flair.

Zbysko: "I accept your challenge, Ric! We have along history together here in WCW! It dates back to day one of the promotion! We were the first main event on 'Mayhem'! Remember that?!"

Flair: "Sure do! I remember it well because I beat you that night!"

Crowd cheered. Zbysko looked out at the crowd.

Zbysko: "You may have beaten me that night! But I beat you to become the first WCW World Champion! Do you remember that?!"

Flair: "How could I forget! You won that night...with a little outside help if you'll recall!"

Zbysko: "Bottom line! I beat you to become the first WCW World Champ! That's in the record book forever!"

Flair: "You know what else is in the record book?! That I got payback and beat you for the title a few months later! And, try as you might, pal, you were never able to regain the title from me!

"Where are your partners in The Firm?!"

Zbysko: "They've got a big match later tonight against the Skyscrapers! Paul and Scott are preparing for that, Ric! And they're gonna take care of business tonight like I'm gonna take care of you next week!"

Zbysko started walking around in the ring and maneuvered around so Flair was now facing away from the entrance aisle.

Zbysko: "You think things were bad for you before, Ric, you haven't seen the worst of it! Not by a longshot! The Firm is gonna make you wish you never chose wrestling as a career!

"Like Orndorff said last week, when we're finally through with you, you're gonna wind up in an insane asylum in a straight jacket talking to the bugs crawling on the floor in your padded cell!

"The Firm is bound together by one thing...our hatred of you!

"What do you think of that, huh?! Whoo!"

Flair looked down and then hauled off and smacked Zbysko hard across the face. Zbysko dropped his mic. Crowd cheering. Flair dropped his mic and grabbed Zbysko by the front of his shirt with both hands and started violently shaking Zbysko and was yelling at Zbysko.

Flair picked up on a mic.

Flair: "What do I think?! What do I think, you son of a bitch!"

Flair drove Zbysko by the ropes and was still shaking Zbysko by the front of the shirt.

Crowd mainly booed as Orndorff and Hall, both in their tights and boots, charged down the aisle, hit the ring, came up behind Flair and jumped Flair from behind. Hall and Orndorff pounded on Flair as Zbysko quickly straightened out his shirt and joined in the beat down. The three beat Flair down to the mat and then stomped away on him. Zbysko snapped Flair up as Hall and Orndorff looked on and Zbysko hoisted Flair up and blasted Flair with his brain buster finisher. Flair laid out. Members of the WCW security team charged down the aisle and hit the ring and Hall, Orndorff and Zbysko bailed from the ring to the safety of the floor as most of the crowd booed but some cheered. A couple of security members checked on Flair as the other four security members stood watch in the ring to make sure The Firm didn't climb back in to inflict more damage.

Schiavone said they had to go to a commercial break.)

(Back from commercial, Flair was slowly walking back up the aisle with the members of the WCW security team surrounding him. Flair was holding the back of his neck.)

Match 1

'Hitman' Bret Hart vs. Mr. Anderson

('I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide' filled the arena and out came Mr. Anderson to boos. Anderson was wearing black tights with 'Anderson' written across the back in white lettering with red trim and black boots. Anderson made his way to the ring and climbed in.

Anderson walked to the middle of the ring and gestured for a mic. An old school ring mic was lowered from the ceiling.

MA: "Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. From Green Bay, Wisconsin! Weighing in at 240 pounds! Mr. Anderrrrrrrrrson! An-der-son!"

'Hart Attack' <a href="https://youtu.be/Zynz3S60esQ" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/Zynz3S60esQ</a> filled the arena and the fans exploded as Bret Hart came out. Bret was in his famous pink and black leg-length singlet, white boots with black trim and a pink star on the outside of each boot and wrap-around sunglasses. Bret slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring and stopped at ringside and took his sunglasses off and handed them to a young fan. Bret climbed into the ring and briefly played to the crowd.

Bret had control early in the match before Anderson reversed a Bret attempt to whip Anderson into the ropes and caught Bret coming off across the shoulders and blasted Bret with a fireman's carry slam (Wasteland). Anderson then controlled the match for the next couple of minutes before Bret fought his way back into the battle and it became a see-saw affair. Both men had some pin tries but neither could put the other away.

At the end of the match, the men were still battling back-and-forth. Anderson got the upper hand on Bret with some head shots. Anderson whipped Bret into the ropes and caught Bret coming off with a kick to the gut followed by and arm trap swinging neckbreaker. Anderson for the cover. 1...2... Bret kicked out. Anderson snapped Bret up and whipped Bret into the buckles. Anderson charged in on Bret but Bret moved and Anderson slammed front-first into the buckles. Anderson peeled himself off the buckles and turned and walked into a flurry of head shots from Bret. Bret blasted Anderson with a jumping vertical suplex. Bret went and mounted the middle buckle behind Anderson. Anderson up and turned and Bret came off with a second rope clothesline that dropped Anderson. Bret grabbed Anderson's legs and turned Anderson over into his sharpshooter finisher but Anderson found the strength to quickly make it to the ropes and grab the bottom rope to force a break in the hold. Anderson to his feet and Bret moved in on Anderson and Anderson stunned Bret with a knee to the gut. Anderson caught Bret with a second knee to the gut and then pounded away on Bret with fists and forearms. Anderson went to whip Bret into the ropes but Bret reversed and caught Anderson coming off with an inverted atomic drop. Anderson crashed to the mat holding his goods. Bret grabbed Anderson's legs and Anderson offered no resistance as Bret turned Anderson over into his sharpshooter finisher. Anderson was only in the hold a few seconds before tapping out to the delight of the crowd.

Bret released the hold and the ref raised Bret's hand in victory as the cheering continued.

WINNER: Bret Hart - Submission - Sharpshooter - 9:32)

(Announcers discussed Bret beating Anderson. Hyped still to come: Hall & Orndorff vs. the re-united Skyscrapers; and more. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson coming to you from the WCW Interview Center.

"My guests at this time are The Firm: Scott Hall, Paul Orndorff and Larry Zbysko."

The trio walked into the interview area. Hall and Orndorff were in their ring attire and Zbysko was in street clothes.

Hudson: "Well, you guys showed your true character again tonight when you once again ganged up on Ric Flair and assaulted him."

Orndorff: "We did do that, didn't we?"

Hall: "We sure did."

Zbysko: "Yeah."

Hudson: "Larry, you must be really proud of dropping Flair on his head with that brain buster of yours?"

Zbysko: "That was a work of art, Hudson! Did you see how perfectly I executed that brain buster?! The only thing I'm disappointed in is that I didn't break Flair's neck!"

Hall: "Hey! Could you imagine Flair with a broken neck, man?!"

Orndorff: "Hahaha! When we're through with him he's gonna wish he had one!"

Zbysko: "Actually, Paul, he's gonna wish he'd never been born! Hahahaha!"

Hudson: "You guys are really, really sick.

"I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in all my years in this business. You have stated that your goal for the forseeable future in this sport is to drive Ric Flair insane! Unbelievable! You want the man to have a nervous breakdown! Jesus!"

Orndorff: "I'm gonna be the man who drives the ambulance that carries Ric to the nut house! I can't wait for that day! I wanna take pictures of them putting Flair in that straight jacket and throwing him that padded room and locking the door! That's gonna be...awesome!"

Hall: "Whoo!"

Zbysko then a did a brief mock Ric Flair strut.

Hudson: "Let's change the subject for a moment.

"Tonight, the Skyscrapers, Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey, re-unite to battle Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall of The Firm in our main event. What are you thou..."

Orndorff: "The Skyscrapers may be re-united! But it ain't gonna feel so good for them!"

Hall: "I love when 'Mr. Wonderful' puts his own spin on song lyrics! Haha!

"The SKyscrapers are facing a human wrecking ball tonight in Hall and Orndorff! Those two big boys are gonna fall like one of those big biuldings when it's demolished! It's gonna be a..."

WHAM! A chair slammed into the back of Larry Zbysko. Zbysko stumbled forward as an enraged Flair made his way into the picture. Flair popped Zbysko with another chair shot to the back. Hall and Orndorff jumped in and started pounding the hell out of Flair. Flair dropped the chair. Zbysko quickly recovered and joined in the beat down. Hall and Orndorff then threw Flair into a stack of chairs. Flair crashed into the chairs and Flair and the chairs crashed to the floor and some of the chairs landed on Flair. Flair down in the chairs as six members of WCW security charged into the picture. The Firm backed off.

Zbysko: "You WCW rent-a-cops go ahead and scrape that jackass off the floor!"

The Firm left the area as WCW security once again checked on Flair.

Hudson: "The Firm is out of control! There's really nothing else to say about it!"

Hudson looked on in disbelief as the picture faded to black.)

Johnson: "Terry Taylor. I have to admit that you scored an impressive victory over Randy Savage at 'Spring Breakout'."

Taylor: "Thank you, Craig, for those kind words. It's a pleasure to be out here with you tonight."

More boos.

Taylor: "I would kindly ask these fans out here to shut up so I can speak."

Booing grew louder. Taylor spun around in the ring looking at the crowd.

Taylor: "The rudeness of you people is showing the world why America is falling apart. Would you people please show an ounce of class and zip it so I can continue to speak."

More boos.

Taylor: "This...is...typical. People try to drown me out because they know what I'm saying is the truth. And most Americans today hate the truth!"

Booing continued.

Taylor: "If this is the way you ingrates wish to behave, then I shall shout over you!"

Louder boos.

Taylor: "Craig, Randy Savage is one of the best athletes in our sport today! But he's not THE best! That title belongs to me and that's why I'm called the 'World's Greatest Athlete'!

"I tip my proverbial hat to Savage for giving me quite a match at 'Spring Breakout'! But his accolades end there! The bottom line is: when push came to shove, my athleticism shined through the adversity and I was not only able to beat Savage, I beat him with my 'World's Greatest Finale' finisher!

"You see, even a small difference in athletic ability makes all the difference in the world! And that difference is why I won and Savage was the big loser in our match!

"And Savage is just the start! I will be exposing all the top wrestlers in WCW in the weeks and months to come! When you're the 'World's Greatest Athlete', you find your opposition's weakness, exploit it and put him down for the count!

"It doesn't matter who they put in the ring with me, Craig! I will show everyone what separates me from all others..."

Loud boos and some trash thrown at the ring.

Johnson: "These fans don't seem too happy with you."

Taylor: "You people...I'm growing tired of the act! You don't deserve to hear anything else the 'World's Greatest Athete' has to say! This interview is over!"

Taylor turned and left the ring and dropped to the floor to more boos and headed back up the aisle.

Johnson: "That was Terry Taylor. Can he really run the table against the top stars in WCW? We'll just have to wait and see.

"Tony and Mark.")

(Announcers discussed the Taylor interview and him storming off. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Close-up of Hudson.

Hudson: "I'm standing here in the WCW Interview Center with my guests at this time...the re-united Skyscrapers."

Camera panned back to show Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey standing on either side of Hudson and in their ring attire.

Hudson: "First of all, it's great to see the Skyscrapers back together."

Spivey: "When we went our separate ways to wrestles as singles it was never gonna be a permanent thing! We always planned on getting back together one day!"

Vicious: "Me and Danny are each dangerous on our own! But put us together and we're doubly dangerous for any team that crosses our path!"

Hudson: "You guys are facing two members of The Firm, Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall, in our main event tonight.

"As these guys have shown as recently as tonight, they're capable of almost anything. And they'll most likely have Larry Zbysko in their corner."

Vicious: "That's great! Zbysko! Go ahead and meddle in our business tonight and see what happens to ya!"

Spivey: "Hall and Orndorff! This is the 'Scrapers first match together in months! And we aim to kick off our re-unification with a bang! And that bang you're gonna hear is from us kicking your butts around that ring!"

Vicious: "You guys in The Firm seem to like pushing people around when you outnumber them! But you're lookin' at two men who aren't easily pushed around! When it comes to intimidation, we're the ones who do it best!"

"So, you go ahead and come out with your little sack of weasel crap pal Larry Zbysko! We don't care! He's been warned to mind his own business during the match or the night will end badly for him!

"Hall and Orndorff! You boys better be prepared for a fight because a fight's headed your way!"

Skyscrapers walked out of the interview area.

Hudson: "It's the re-united Skyscrapers vs. Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall of the The Firm in our main event and it's coming up next!)

(Announcers intro'd a video of the next WCW PPV.

'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff & 'Bad Guy' Scott Hall w/ Larry Zbysko vs. The Skyscrapers

Hall was wearing his black satin vest with a blood print running down it, black tights with a blood print running down them and black boots with a blood print running down them. Hall also had a toothpick in his mouth. Orndorff was in a blue robe with white and silver trim and 'Orndorff' written in silver cursive lettering across the back, blue boots with white trim and the initials 'PO' on the outside of each boot. Zbysko was in street clothes.

'Steel Monkey' <a href="https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/5GpqlHagGJE</a> played and out came the Skyscrapers, Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey, to a strong ovation. The pair were both in black tights and black boots. They made their way to the ring and Spivey climbed through the top and middle rope and Sid climbed over the top rope into the ring.

Match was more a brawl than a wrestling match as the two teams slugged it out in a back-and-forth battle.

At one point in the match, Larry Zbysko interfered and gave his team the advantage when Sid ran and went to hit the ropes and Zbysko reached into the ring and tripped up Sid and Sid went down. Sid quickly got up and looked down at Zbysko and Orndorff, the legal man in the ring for his team, had recovered enough and jumped Sid from behind.

Not too many pin tries during the match as the teams just beat on each other.

At the end of the match, Hall and Sid were the legal men in the ring.

Hall had the advantage and was working Sid over in the corner and finished off his assault with a slap upside the head. Hall whipped Sid into the opposite buckles and Sid slammed into them and stumbled out of the corner. Hall grabbed Sid by the throat and nailed Sid with a chokeslam. Hall for the cover and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Sid kicked out. Crowd cheered. Hall caught Sid with a head shot, snapped Sid up and went to whip Sid back into the corner but Sid reversed and sent Hall into the corner and Sid followed Hall in and blasted Hall with an avalanche. Sid whipped Hall into the opposite buckles and charged in and blasted Hall with a second avalanche. Sid pulled Hall out of the corner, whipped Hall into the ropes and caught Hall coming off with a clothesline. Hall crashed to the mat. Sid briefly regained his bearings and reached down and started to hoist Hall up for his powerbomb finisher but Orndorff hit the ring and came up behind Sid and clubbed Sid across the back. Sid lost his grip on Hall. Spivey hit the ring and went to go after Orndorff but the ref intercepted Spivey and ordered Spivey back to his corner. As Spivey and the ref were distracted with each other, Orndorff grabbed Sid by the wrist and dropped Sid with a short-arm clothesline. Orndorff scurried back to his corner as the ref got Spivey back out on the apron. Hall up and stomped Sid in the head. Hall snapped Sid up and nailed Sid with a fallaway slam. Sid down and Hall went over and grabbed the top rope and stomped away on Sid. Hall broke the illegal move at the ref's count of 4. Hall looked out at the crowd and wiped his hands together like he was just about finished with Sid. Hall snapped Sid up and went to whip Sid into the ropes but Sid reversed and caught Hall coming off with a spinebuster. Crowd popped. Sid up and lunged over and tagged in Spivey to a pop. Hall getting to his feet and Spivey tore into Hall with head shots. Spivey whipped Hall into the ropes and Orndorff slap tagged Hall. Ref ruled tag was legal as Hall came off the ropes and was dropped with a boot to the face. Orndorff hit the ring and swung at Spivey and missed and Spivey laid into Orndorff with head and body shots. Spivey whipped Orndorff into the corner and followed Orndorff in and blasted Orndorff with a brutal running clothesline. Orndorff staggered out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Spivey snapped Orndorff up across his shoulders and blasted Orndorff with his Olympic Slam finisher. Spivey covered Orndorff and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Hall had just recovered enough to move over and stomp Spivey in the head to break up the pin try. Sid hit the ring and laid waist to Hall with a big running clothesline. Hall crashed to the mat, rolled out of the ring and crashed to the floor. Crowd eating it up.

Zbysko jumped up on the ring apron. Ref trying to get Sid out of the ring and Zbysko off the apron. Zbysko yelled at Sid. Zbysko took a swing at Sid and Sid blocked the punch try and nailed Zbysko with a series of head shots that stunned Zbysko. An unsteady Zbysko was hanging on to the top rope trying not to crash to the floor. Behind the distracted ref's back, Spivey made it to his feet. Spivey moved in and reached down to pull Orndorff to his feet when Orndorff stunned Spivey with a low-blow. Spivey fell back against the ropes holding his jewels. Orndorff up and moved in and stunned Spivey with a head shot, hoisted Spivey up and blasted Spivey with a piledriver. Orndorff covered Spivey and hooked the leg just as Sid ran Zbysko down the apron and slammed Zbysko's head into the ring bolt that connects the top buckle with the ring post. Zbysko crashed to the floor. As Sid glared down at Zbysko, ref turned and saw Orndorff covering Spivey. Ref dropped down. 1....2... Sid turned and saw what was happening and went to break up the pin try. ...3! Sid stomped Orndorff in the back a split-second too late. Ref up and called for the bell.

Hall had recovered enough and was now on his knees on the apron. Sid was pissed at himself and then started checking on his downed partner. Orndorff to his feet and the ref raised his hand in victory. Some garbage tossed in the ring as Hall climbed in to congratulate his fellow Firm-ite. Zbysko was now up leaned against the ring apron and raised fist victoriously as the boos cascaded down.

WINNER: Orndorff & Hall - Pinfall - Orndorff pinned Spivey with a Piledriver - 13:44)

(Announcers discussed Orndorff and Hall of The Firm spoiling The Skyscrapers return to tag action. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson was standing backstage in a room that looked like a small conference room.

Hudson: "I am standing with Ric Flair and Rob Russen of the match-making committee."

Russen was in a suit and holding a clipboard. Flair was still in his street clothes but was clearly feeling the affects of being assaulted twice in one night. Flair was holding the back of his neck.

Hudson: "Rob, we hear you have something you want to say to Ric."

Russen: "Ric, earlier tonight, you said you wanted a match with Larry Zbysko of The Firm next week."

Flair (agitated and looking down): "That's right."

Russen: "I have here in my hand a contract for the match. Larry Zbysko signed it just before he went out to the ring with Hall and Orndorff for the main event.

"But, before I give you this contract to sign, WCW officials would like for you to get a physical examination after what's happened to you this evening. We are concerned about your well-being right now..."

Flair angrily grabbed the clipboard out of Russen's hand and flipped to the back page of the contract.

Flair (growling): "Where's the line I sign on?"

Flair found the line and angrily, quickly signed it.

Russen: "Ric, you really need to get checked out..."

Flair: "Shut up!"

Flair shoved the contract in Russen's chest.

Flair (now enraged): "I don't care if I have to crawl naked over a field of razor blades, mouse traps and broken glass to get to the ring! This match is happening next week!

"Even if there are pieces of my brain falling out of my head from where Zbysko brain busted me earlier tonight it's not gonna stop the match! You hear me?!

"And when that bell rings next Tuesday, I'm gonna go all Old Testament on that son of bitch!"

Flair glared at Russen for a few tense seconds and then stormed out of the picture as an uncomfortable Russen and shocked Hudson looked on as the program faded to black.)

In this match, Austin Idol has agreed to refund the fans their ticket money! That's right! Idol loses and the fans get their money back!

And Idol would also suffer the humiliation of losing his hair if defeated!

Lawler also put up his hair! Lawler had never lost a hair match according to the story surrounding this match!

Which is gonna give?!

Oh! And the match is in a steel cage!

Will Idol have to use $50 grand of his own money for ticket refunds and have his head shaved?!

Or will Lawler finally lose his hair?!

Crowd heat is off the charts for this one! And the finish was very unique for its time!

Idol would have had a much better career but he was in a plane crash in the 1970's (Google 'Austin Idol Plane Crash') and from what I understand, he developed a fear of flying. Could have been a megastar during the '80s expansion era if not for that.

But you're right, he is underappreciated in this day and age.
