It's an episode of Donahue that is about pro wrestling. And it features Verne Gagne and some of the wrestlers from the American Wrestling Association (AWA).

Because of the length of Donahue, I will not be posting any bonus clips this week.

WCW MAYHEM - EP. 148 - DENVER, CO - MAGNESS ARENA - 3-20-18 (Live)

(Crowd Shots/Pyro)

(Announcers Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden welcomed viewers and ran down the program: Ric Flair vs. Larry Zbysko of The Firm; new Tru TV Champion Sgt. Slaughter makes an appearance; Dynamite Kid vs. Davey Boy Smith; and more! Then sent it to the ring.)

(Theme from the original 'Hawaii Five-O'

Both were in street clothes and each man had a mic. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed in.

The pair walked around in the ring for a moment as the crowd chanted 'You lost!' and 'Los Lobos!'.

Muraco: "You white trash fans go ahead and cheer because, mark my words, you won't be cheering for long."

Cheering continued.

Muraco: "Last year, that's 2017 on the non-white trash calendar, we lost the tag team titles at 'Spring Breakout' as well.

"Jimmy, how long were we the ex-champions then?"

Snuka briefly rubbed his chin.

Snuka: "Ummmmmmmmmm... One month. We were the former champs for one month."

Muraco: "That's right, brother. One month.

"And we regained the titles on the second anniversary 'Mayhem' show.

"What's coming up in a few weeks, Jim?"

Snuka: "That would be 'Mayhem's' third anniversary show."

Muraco: "Right again!

"Now, we need Tony Garea of the championship committee to come out and join us in the ring if he would be so kind."

Muraco and Snuka walked around in the ring.

Muraco: "Come on, Tony! Get your pasty white ass out here!"

The pair walked around in the ring some more and Garea, in a suit, appeared and made his way down the aisle with mic in hand and climbed into the ring.

Snuka: "And here he is."

Muraco: "Glad you could make it, Garea."

Garea: "I have a feeling I know what this is about. You want to trigger your re-match clause against Los Lobos for the tag team titles."

Muraco: "Very perceptive. I'm impressed.

"We do want to trigger our re-match clause and we want the match to take place on the 'Mayhem' third anniversary show."

Garea: ""As the former champs, you are guaranteed a re-match.

"Los Lobos isn't here."

Snuka: "That's too bad."

Garea: "But, they have made it quite clear to me that they welcome the re-match for the tag team titles. And they will defend them against you anytime, anywhere.

"So, the main event at the third anniversary show of 'Mayhem' in Baltimore on April 17th will be Los Lobos defending the World Tag Team Titles against former champions Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka!"

Crowd cheered.

Muraco: "That's just what we wanted to hear, Garea.

"And, unlike with Los Lobos, who you on the championship committee gave chance after chance after chance to win the belts long after they deserved any more title shots, I am here to tell you that you'll only need to give us the one chance. Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka are gonna become the WCW World Tag Team Champions for the third time on April 17th!"

Mainly boos from the crowd but also some cheers.

Garea: "We'll see, gentlemen."

Snuka: "You're gonna see it, alright. Those belts are headed back our way and we're gonna have an even longer run as the champs this time."

Muraco: "And we want a clause put in the contract for this match."

Garea: "What sort of clause?"

Muraco: "We want a clause that states that when we beat Los Lobos for the belts in Baltimore at the 'Mayhem' anniversary show, Los Lobos does NOT get a re-match."

Garea: "Wait a minute. All contracts for championship matches have a re-match clause in them so the former champions can try and regain the belts. It's the right thing to do."

Muraco: "Not in this case. With all the opportunities they were given to win the belts, they don't deserve nothin'! They lose 'em to us and they're done as challengers for however long we hold the titles. And like Jimmy said, we're gonna hold 'em for a long time when we get 'em back. Los Lobos is gonna have to wait years for another title shot."

Garea: "This is just ri..."

Muraco: "I'm not done.

"The flip side of the clause we want is this. If me and Jimmy lose the match in Baltimore on April 17th, which is about as likely to happen as the sun falling out of the sky, then we can't challenge for the tag team titles again for as long as Los Lobos remains the tag team champions!"

Crowd buzzing.

Garea: "This is a very unusual match clause that you're asking for. I'm gonna have to discuss it with members of the championship committee as well as the tag team champions."

Muraco: "You've got to discuss it with Los Lob... You on the championship committee didn't ask us if we wanted to defend the titles in a cage against Los Lobos at 'Spring Breakout'! You just made the f-ing match and we were saddled with it! This is only fair, Garea! You get that clause put in the contract! We demand it! And screw talking to Tito and Manny! That screams collusion!"

Garea: "I'm not guaranteeing anything, Don. And we will consult with the champions about this."

Snuka: "We want an answer next week. And it better be the answer we want to hear."

Garea: "Threatening WCW officials is never a good idea, Jimmy."

Snuka: "Just do your job and there will be no problems."

Garea: "I've told you what I'm gonna do and I will have an answer for you next week."

Muraco: "We're not playin' around, man! That clause is in the contract...or else!"

Muraco and Snuka glared at Garea and Garea returned the glare before turning and leaving the ring and dropping to the floor and heading back up the aisle as Muraco and Snuka talked off-mic in the ring.)

(Announcers discussed the news regarding the tag team titles. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson coming to you from the WCW Interview Center.

"I was supposed to be interviewing Ric Flair for his upcoming match in the main event against Larry Zbysko of The Firm later tonight. But, no one has seen Ric Flair in the building tonight. No one knows where is. Calls to his cell phone are not being returned. Calls to his hotel room went unanswered. There was a call to his home and they haven't heard from him, either.

"We know Ric has been having serious problems lately with The Firm. One has to wonder if they've gotten to him. Have they done something to him? We do not know.

"We'll keep you abreast of this potentially disturbing situation throughout the program.

"To repeat, Ric Flair has not been seen in the building, at the hotel, or anywhere those in the know think he might be. No one knows what is going on with Ric.")

(Announcers discussed the situation regarding Ric Flair.

Madden: "If The Firm has arrived at the building, maybe they ought to check the trunk of the car they came in."

Schiavone: "Hopefully, this is all just a misunderstanding. I shudder to think what might have happened to Ric Flair."

Announcers said Dynamite Kid vs. Davey Boy Smith was coming up next.)

Dynamite Kid vs. Davey Boy Smith

('Some Heads Are Gonna Roll'

Smith was in a satin ring jacket with a white front, the Union Jack on the back and one red sleeve and one blue sleeve, tights that had the Union Jack design on the front and back and blue ring boots with red trim. Smith made his way to the ring and climbed in. Smith walked around in the ring and didn't acknowledge the fans.

'London Calling'

Kid had the Union Jack flag draped over his shoulders, dark blue leg-length tights with the word 'England' in the colors of the Union Jack going down the outside of each leg and red boots with blue and white trim. Kid slapped hands with some fans on the way to the ring. Once in the ring, Kid climbed into the ring and stood on the middle buckle and held the Union Jack out behind him and then stood in his corner.

Hard fought battle between the two former friends and tag team partners turned bitter enemies.

Smith and Kid each held the advantage at points during the match and some exciting near falls occurred during the battle. During the match, Smith hurt Kid with some stiff kicks to the side of the ribs.

At the end of the match, Kid had the advantage. Kid worked Smith over with a series of European uppercuts, whipped Smith into the ropes and Smith leapfrogged Kid coming off. Smith hit the opposite ropes and came off just as Kid turned and Smith obliterated Kid with a brutal clothesline. Kid crashed to the mat. Smith stomped Kid in Kid's hurting ribs. Smith snapped Kid up, whipped Kid into the ropes and caught Kid coming off with a kick to the gut that doubled over Kid. Smith hoisted Kid up and blasted Kid with a running powerbomb. Smith covered Kid and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Kid kicked out. Fans popped. Smith snapped Kid up, whipped Kid into the buckles and charged in and popped his former mate with running splash. Kid stumbled out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Kid rolled over on his side holding his ribs and Smith stomped Kid in the back. Smith pulled Kid up by the hair and got right in Kid's face and said something that mics did not pick up. Smith whipped Kid into the ropes and looked to catch Kid coming off with a clothesline but Kid ducked the move and came back and dropped Smith with a flying headbutt. Smith down holding his head. Kid unsteadily backed up and assumed the position as Smith slowly made his way to his feet. Smith up and turned and Kid charged in and pulverized Smith with his spear finisher. Fans popped. Smith down. Kid rolled over on his back grabbing at his ribs. Crowd urging Kid to cover Smith. Kid slowly crawled over and covered Smith. 1...2...thr... Davey kicked out. Crowd groaned. Kid, wincing in pain, was able to snap Smith up and blast Smith with a snap suplex. Kid slowly, painfully made it to his feet grabbing his ribs. Kid quick stomped Smith and then Kid climbed out on the apron. Kid briefly grabbed his ribs once more before starting the slow, painful climb to the top buckle. Once at the top, Kid struggled maintain his balance. Smith started to recover in the ring and made it to his feet. Kid leaped off the top rope and Smith caught Kid in mid-air with a dropkick. Kid crashed to the mat and grabbed at his ribs. Smith got up and went over and grabbed the injured Kid, hoisted Kid up, backed into the corner and charged out and blasted Kid with his running powerslam finisher. Smith covered Kid. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd booed.

Smith, weary from the battle, got to his feet and the ref raised Smith's hand in victory to more boos. Smith briefly strutted around the ring victoriously before leaving the ring, dropping to the floor and heading back up the aisle to boos.

WINNER: Smith - Pinfall - Running Powerslam - 13:29)

(Announcers discussed Smith beating Kid. Hyped the Flair- Zbysko main event if Flair shows up. Said new Tru TV Champ Sgt. Slaughter makes an appearance next!)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson was standing backstage in front of a barren white wall.

Hudson: "Still nothing new to report on the whereabouts of Ric Flair. No one can get a hold of him at all. He's scheduled to be one-half of the main event tonight. But if he's not here then the match-making committee will have to come up with a replacement match.

"We'll keep you updated as the situation merits.")

(Announcers intro'd video of Sgt. Slaughter defeating Dick Slater two weeks ago on 'Mayhem' to become the new Tru TV Champion.

VIDEO:

Slater crashed hard into the buckles, staggered out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Sarge snapped up Slater and went to whip Slater into the ropes but Slater reversed and sent Sarge crashing full-force into the referee. Ref crashed to the mat with the heavier Sarge on top of him. Both men down.

Slater looked up at Sherri and gestured with his hands. Sherri reached into her bra and pulled out an object and dropped it out through an opening in the cage. The object dropped to the floor. It was the small steel chain Slater had used to beat Sarge at 'Spring Breakout'. Slater dropped to the floor and retrieved the chain. Sarge starting to stir. Slater climbed into the ring and brazenly wrapped the chain around his fist. Sarge started getting up. Slater lying in wait. Sarge up and turned and Slater moved in to punch Sarge with his chain-laden right fist but Sarge blocked the punch try and fired away on Slater with a series of head shots and then reared back and pulverized Slater with a big roundhouse right to the jaw. Slater crashed to the mat and dropped the chain. Crowd roaring as Sarge grabbed the chain and threw it out of the ring. Sherri all hysterical. Sarge stood back and assumed the position as a shaky Slater made it to his feet. Ref regaining his senses. Slater up and Sarge charged in and blasted Slater with his Slaughter Cannon finisher. Slater laid out. Sarge quickly dragged the ref over, dropped down and covered Slater. 1....2....3! Ref called for the bell as the crowd went nuts.)

(In-ring: Craig Johnson.

Johnson: "Please welcome my guest at this time! He is the NEW Tru TV Champion...Sgt. Slaughter!"

Marine Corps Hymn <a href="https://youtu.be/kIhiMqz7iuE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/kIhiMqz7iuE</a> filled the arena and out came Slaughter to a strong ovation. Sarge was in street clothes, sunglasses and his DI hat. He had the title slung over his shoulder. Sarge slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring. Sarge climbed into the ring and turned to all four sides and saluted the fans.

Johnson: "Sgt. Slaughter! Congratulations are in order for winning the Tru TV Championship!"

Sarge: "Thank you, Craig!

"It was a great feeling to finally liberate this title from the hands of a man like Dick Slater! Slater's reign as TV Champion was one that was defined by winning at all costs! The man took a lot of shortcuts to hold onto this belt! He was a dishonorable champion!

"But I'm here to tell all these great fans out here that I will be a fighting champion! And I will defend this title with honor and integrity! Just like you respect our great flag, a champion should have a great deal of respect and reverence for the belt he holds!"

Sarge took the title off his shoulder and looked at it.

Sarge: "I had to overcome a lot of obstacles to win this! So there's no way I'm disrespecting this title!

"I promise you fans right now that you will only see me defend the Tru TV Championship cleanly and fairly! There will be no shortcuts here! I will retain or lose this belt defending it like I used to defend Ol' Glory...by giving it everything I have and fighting the good fight!"

Crowd cheered.

Cheers melted to boos as Dick Slater, in street clothes, came out and made his way to the ring and climbed in and walked up to Sarge.

Slater: "Let me tell you something, Sarge!"

Sarge: "I notice that Sherri is not with you."

Slater: "She's still traumatized from being locked in that cage and suspended in mid-air a couple of weeks ago! But she will be back very soon!

"I came out here to say one thing to you, Sarge! Enjoy it while it lasts! The people need to know we've signed for a series of re-matches for the Tru TV Championship! And I'm gonna remain hot on your trail until I regain that title!"

Sarge: "We're gonna battle it out all over the country for this championship, Slater! I knew when I signed those contracts for re-matches with you what I was getting into!

"You're a cheater, Slater! Your nickname, 'Dirty', suits you to a tee! But I'm gonna do everything in my power to keep you from regaining the Tru TV Championship!"

Slater: "You go right ahead, Sarge! I earned my nickname because I'll do whatever I have to to win! I don't even deny it! If I can get away with something that

helps me in a match, then I'll do it!

"All your talk about honor and respect and all that crap means nothing to me!"

Sarge: "That's obvious!"

Slater: "I'm all about the W's! I'm all about winning championships! I'm all about getting the winner's share of the purse! And I'll do whatever I have to do to achieve those goals!

"I'm gunning for you, Slaughter! And we'll see just how far kissing the asses of these stinkin' fans gets you in the long run!"

Sarge: "I know what to expect from you, Slater! You were born a cheater! In the card game of life, you made sure you got the marked deck! I know when that bell rings you're gonna look to take shortcuts to try and gain an advantage and win the TV Title back! But I'll be ready!

"These fans that you despise want a champion that will fight for them! And when we clash in arenas all across this great country of ours, they will rally behind the man who has great respect for them! And that man is me!"

Fans cheered.

Slater: "Listen to the pathetic sheep cheer their hero!

"I'm all about me! What can I do for me! What's best for me! These fans are worthless! They don't win me anything! It only takes three seconds one time, Sarge! 1...2...3 and I'm the Tru TV Champion again! And it's gonna happen in one of our re-matches! Doesn't matter the arena or anything else! It will happen!

"So, enjoy your honorable title reign, Sarge! It's not gonna be a long one!"

Sarge: "I'll see you in the arena, Slater."

The two engaged in a staredown as the segment ended.)

(Announcers discussed the situation between Sarge (TVC) and Dick Slater. Hyped their re-matches at house shows. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "Coming to you from the WCW Interview Center. My guest at this time is Larry Zbsyko of The Firm."

Zbysko walked into the interview area in his ring duds.

Hudson: "Larry..."

Zbysko: "Hahahahaha!"

Hudson: "What's so funny?"

Zbysko: "I hear that no one can find Ric Flair."

Hudson: "You think that's funny? Did you guys in The Firm do something to him?!"

Zbysko: "Nobody in The Firm has messed with Ric Flair tonight! I'm supposed to face him in our main event! I want to put him down for the count! Why would I do anything to him?!"

Hudson: "You guys have said that your goal is to drive Flair out of his mind. Sure seems, by The Firm's own statements, that you want to harm Flair.

"And as we saw last week, you guys violently assaulted Flair twice and left him laid out."

Zbysko: "The second attack was his fault because he hit me, unprovoked I might add, with a chair! You seem to suffer from selective outrage, Hudson!"

Hudson: "He did that because of what you, Hall and Orndorff did to him earlier in the show! Hello, Larry! Anybody home?!"

Zbysko: "It's like this, you smoldering turd!

"The goal of The Firm is to physically and mentally destroy Ric Flair! We've made no bones about it! No one has heard from him or seen him tonight! He may be checking himself into a mental hospital as we speak!"

Hudson: "You're proud of that?! Jeez!"

Zbysko: "It would not be something to be proud of because we have so much more torture to heap on the guy that if he already broke, well, where's the fun in that?!"

Hudson: "Are you serious?! That is sick, Larry! Really..."

Zbysko: "If he's already had a breakdown, that just shows what kind of weak individual Flair is! It would show the world that he's an extremely fragile fellow who cracks like an egg at the slightest touch!

"I'm gonna walk to that ring tonight and see if Ric Flair shows up! If he doesn't, then it shows just what a pathetic character he really is! If he can't handle the heat from some guys who don't like him, then he's in the wrong sport! He needs to grow a set and man up a little and stop acting like a primadonna backstage!"

Hudson: "I do need to let you and the fans know that if Flair doesn't show up tonight, the match that will take the place of Zbysko vs. Flair is Marty Jannetty vs. Tommy Rich."

Zbysko: "If that happens it will be a tragedy because I want to push Flair a little closer to the edge! The Firm wants to see him break down on national television! We want to see him crack before his fans!"

Hudson: "I've heard enough! It's Ric Flair vs. Larry Zbysko of The Firm in our main event tonight if Flair shows up!"

Zbysko: "Please, Ric, show up! I'm begging you!"

Hudson: "Get the hell out of here!"

Zbysko flipped Hudson's tie up into Hudson's face and walked out of the interview area as a steamed Hudson looked on.)

(Announcers said the main event, if it happens, was coming up after the break.)

(Announcers intro'd a video of the next WCW PPV.

Aerial shot of the city of Los Angeles from a distance. The shot quickly closed in on the city and then the picture sped up until there was an aerial shot over a stadium.

(Announcers hyped for next week on 'Mayhem': The championship committee will have an answer about the special clause Muraco and Snuka want put in the contract for their tag title re-match at the 'Mayhem' 3rd Anniversary Show'; Bret Hart makes an appearance; Scott Irwin vs. brother 'Million Dollar' Bill Irwin; the first 3rd Anniversary Show Update; and more. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson was standing in the hallway.

Hudson: "Guys, there is nothing new to report. Ric Flair is still not here and it's time for the main event.

"If the Flair-Zbysko match doesn't go down as planned, Tommy Rich will battle Marty Jannetty in the main event instead.")

'Living Legend' Larry Zbysko vs. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair

Zbysko was in his black ring jacket with 'Living Legend' written in gold lettering on the back, black tights and black boots with 'LZ' in gold lettering on the outside of each boot. Zbysko made his way to the ring and climbed in and went over by the ropes and demanded the ring mic and got it.

Zbysko: "Nobody's seen the great Ric Flair tonight! I'm betting that he's too scared to show his face! He's had enough of The Firm! Looks like it didn't take much to run the 'Nature Boy' out of WCW!"

More boos as Zbysko tossed the mic and started strutting around the ring.

'Also Sprach Zarathustra'

And they waited... No Flair.

Madden: "Looks like Zbysko might be right and Flair has bolted. He doesn't want anything more to do with The Firm."

Fans still waiting...

Zbysko paced around the ring and turned with hands on hips and was facing the entrance aisle. Zbysko shook his head in disgust. Ref also looking at the entrance aisle.

Zbysko picked up on a mic.

Zbysko: "He's not here! The great Ric Flair...COWARD!"

On the other side of the ring, there was movement under the ring. Out came Ric Flair. Crowd erupted.

Schiavone: "Flair was hiding under the ring all this time!"

Flair was in a black t-shirt with 'Gold's Gym' written in gold lettering across the front, red tights and red boots with white trim and 'RF' in white lettering on the outside of each boot.

Flair climbed into the ring, came up behind Zbysko, spun Zbysko around and tore into the surprised Zbysko with a series of stiff, brutal chest chops as the crowd grew even louder.

Ref called for the bell.

Flair whipped Zbysko into the ropes and caught Zbysko coming off with a big chest chop. Zbysko crashed to the mat. Flair dropped down and started pounding the back of Zbysko's head on the mat. Flair snapped Zbysko up and whipped Zbysko into the buckles. Flair mounted the middle buckle over Zbysko and popped Zbysko in the head with a series of punches. Flair dropped back to his feet on the mat. Zbysko staggered out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Flair yelled at Zbysko to get up. Zbysko put his hand up defensively as he got to a knee. Zbysko stayed in that position and Flair once again yelled at Zbysko to get to his feet. Zbysko got up and put his hands up and was begging off as Flair slowly moved in on him. Zbysko backed into the corner and ducked his head and put his arms up over his head. Flair stopped and stood there. Zbysko slowly peeked up and Flair brazenly poked Zbysko in the eye. Ref reprimanded Flair. Flair pulled Zbysko out of the corner and popped Zbysko with a suplex. Flair followed with an elbow smash across the chest. Flair backed into the ropes and came off with a knee drop to the head that connected. Flair covered the already battered Zbysko. 1...2...thr... Flair pulled Zbysko up by the hair. Ref again reprimanded Flair. Flair snapped Zbysko up and whipped Zbysko into the ropes. Zbysko grabbed the top rope and held on, dropped down, rolled out of the ring and crashed to the floor. Flair went to go after Zbysko. Ref ordered Flair to stand back. Flair went to go after Zbysko again but the ref intercepted Flair and ordered him back. Zbysko started crawling on all fours back up the aisle. Flair stood back and the ref started the 20-count. Just a few seconds into the count, Flair bolted past the ref, dropped to the floor and charged up the aisle. Zbysko was still on his hands and knees when Flair caught him. Flair slammed Zbysko's head into the floor twice. Flair pulled Zbysko up and sent Zbysko crashing hard into the barricade. Zbysko started staggering back towards the ring. Ref counting. Flair caught up to Zbysko and slammed Zbysko's head three times into the ring apron. Zbysko went down on the floor and was holding his head. Flair stomped away on Zbysko and then Flair quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the count. Flair yelled for Zbysko to get up. Zbysko scooted on his ass on the floor away from Flair. Ref counting. Zbysko again put his hands up defensively. Flair moved in and snapped Zbysko up and whipped Zbysko into the ring steps. Zbysko crashed hard into the steps and went down in a crumpled heap. Ref counting. Zbysko rolled away from the steps. Flair pulled off the top half of the steel ring steps and raised them over his head and went to slam the steps on Zbysko but Zbysko rolled out of the way and the steps slammed into the floor. Flair grabbed Zbysko and threw Zbysko back into the ring. Flair climbed up on the apron and mounted the top buckle. Zbysko up and turned and Flair came off the top buckle with a head shot that connected. Zbysko crumpled to the mat.

Schiavone: "Flair is trying to absolutely destroy Zbysko! It's like he's possessed!"

Zbysko totally beaten down. Flair grabbed Zbysko's left leg, yanked on it a few times and then locked Zbysko in his figure 4 finisher to the delight of the fans. Zbysko writhing in pain but not giving up.

Madden: "Might be best for Zbysko to tap out here and live to fight another day!"

Flair had Zbysko in the hold for several seconds and then released it.

Schiavone: "Flair is just torturing Zbysko now!"

Flair up and once again yelled for Zbysko to get up. Zbysko scooted over by the ropes and slowly, with the aid of the ropes, made it to his feet. Flair moved in and kicked Zbysko in the left leg and then walked Zbysko over and slammed Zbysko's head into the top buckle 10 times in rapid fashion as the fans counted along. Zbysko leaned front-first against the buckles. Flair again yelled for Zbysko to turn around and fight and Zbysko didn't budge. Flair moved in, spun Zbysko around and pulverized Zbysko with a series chest chops. Zbysko slid down to his ass in the corner. Flair started choking Zbysko out with his boot and broke the illegal move at the ref's count of 4. Flair pulled Zbysko to his feet, pulled Zbysko out of the corner and whipped Zbysko into the ropes and looked to catch Zbysko coming off with a backdrop but Zbysko caught Flair with a kick to the chest. Flair shot up and stumbled back and Zbysko found the strength to hit Flair with a spin kick to the chest. Flair crashed to the mat and Zbysko went down on his hands and knees. Ref counting. The two men made it to their feet and Zbysko jumped on Flair and started pounding on him with fists and forearms. Zbysko then raked Flair's eyes across the top rope. Flair staggered off holding his eyes. Flair turned and Zbysko popped Flair with a dropkick. Flair slammed into the buckles, staggered out of the corner and crashed to the mat. Zbysko staggered/stumbled and left the ring and dropped to the floor and went over and grabbed the timekeeper's bell off the timekeeper's table. Craig Johnson grabbed the bell to keep Zbysko from using it but Zbysko shoved Johnson hard and gained control of the bell. Flair recovering in the ring. Zbysko climbed into the ring with the bell in hand. Ref ordered Zbysko to drop the bell and Zbysko ignored the ref and threatened to hit the ref with the bell and the ref backed away from Zbysko while still warning him not to use the bell. Zbysko raised the bell over his head and moved in on Flair as Flair got to his knees. Zbysko moved in and was prepared to bash Flair over the head with it when Flair nailed Zbysko with a trio of gut shots and Zbysko dropped the bell. An angry Flair got up and raised his fists and dared Zbysko to try and hit him. Zbysko went to punch Flair and Flair blocked the punch try and popped Zbysko with a head shot and then tore into Zbysko with more nasty chest chops. The last chop spun Zbysko around facing away from Flair. Zbysko staggered off. Flair removed his t-shirt, came up behind Zbysko and started strangling Zbysko with the shirt. Crowd roaring. Flair released the illegal hold at the count of 4. Flair tossed the shirt. Zbysko staggering around holding his throat. Flair grabbed Zbysko, whipped Zbysko into the ropes and caught Zbysko coming off with his flying forearm shiver to the side of the head finisher. Zbysko crashed to the mat. Flair covered Zbysko. 1...2...thr... Flair again pulled Zbysko up by the hair just before the ref counted three. Ref again reprimanded Flair. Crowd buzzing.

Mixed crowd reaction as Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall, both in street clothes, charged down the aisle to ringside. Orndorff immediately jumped up on the ring apron. Ref went over and ordered Orndorff off the apron and Orndorff started arguing with the ref. Flair looked over and saw Orndorff with the ref. Hall climbed in the ring behind Flair, spun Flair around and blasted Flair with a vicious slap upside the head. Flair stunned. Orndorff and the ref in heated debate and Ondorff grabbed the ref's arm. Ref yelled at Orndorff to let him go. Orndorff released him but kept the ref distracted by arguing with him. Hall grabbed Flair by the throat and nailed Flair with a chokeslam. Flair laid out. Hall bailed back to the floor. Orndorff stopped arguing with the ref and dropped to the floor. Zbysko recovered enough to get to his feet, go over and grab Flair, hoist Flair up and nail Flair with his brainbuster finisher. Zbysko covered Flair. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as most of the crowd booed.

Hall and Orndorff climbed into the ring as Zbysko rolled off of Flair and both Flair and Zbysko were laying in the ring. Hall helped Zbysko to his feet and the ref went over and raised Zbysko's hand in victory while Hall was holding him. Orndorff put the boots to the still downed Flair. Some garbage started to hit the ring. Shot of Orndorff and Hall each raising a hand of Zbysko's in victory and the defeated Flair laid out. Zbysko then spat on the downed Flair as the program faded to black.

(Announcers Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden welcomed viewers and ran down the program: 'Spring Breakout' Re-Match: Randy Savage vs. 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor; Bret Hart makes an appearance; Scott Irwin vs. brother 'Million Dollar' Bill; a look back at the end of last week's Flair-Zbysko match; the first 'Mayhem' 3rd Anniversary Show Update; and more!)

(In-ring: Craig Johnson.

Johnson: 'Welcome to 'Mayhem'! I'm Craig Johnson.

"With me in the ring right now is Tony Garea of the championship committee."

Garea was in a suit and got virtually no reaction.

Johnson: "Tony, we know what you're out here for. So let's get right down to business."

Both were in street clothes and each man had a mic. The pair made their way to the ring and climbed in. The pair was all business.

'Will The Wolf Survive'

Manny Fernandez and Tito Santana were in street clothes. They each had a belt slung over their left shoulder. They slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring. The pair climbed into the ring and each man walked to a corner, mounted the middle buckle and raised the tag titles in the air to more cheers. They then walked over to Johnson and soaked in the cheers a little longer.

The teams glared at one another.

Johnson: "Tony, what say you?"

Garea: "Last week, Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka demanded that a clause be put in the contract for the World Tag Title match which will be taking place on the 'Mayhem' 3rd Anniversary show on April 17th in Baltimore.

"The clause is that the loser of that match cannot challenge for the tag team titles again for as long either team holds the belts.

"Manny and Tito, we await your decision on this matter."

Tito: "When we first heard Don and Jimmy's demand we were caught off-guard. We'd never heard of a clause like that.

"But, we talked about it..."

Muraco: "Would you just answer the damn question, Tito!"

Manny: "Shut up, Muraco, unless you want a good, old fashioned knuckle sandwich!"

Garea: "Please continue, Tito."

Tito: "To answer the question...we accept the clause that the challengers want put in the contract for the match."

Crowd cheered.

Garea: "Since both parties are in agreement, the no re-match clause for the losing team will be written into the contract for the match."

Johnson: "Don and Jimmy, I have to ask this. Don't you think you're taking a big chance here? I mean, you guys lose and it could be a long time before you get a shot at the tag titles again."

Muraco: "As I said last week, we're only gonna need one re-match to regain those belts. We've dominated tag team wrestling here in WCW for well over a year now.

"Just like last year, we lost the belts to the Skyscrapers at 'Spring Breakout'; a month later, we won them for the second time at the 'Mayhem' anniversary show. It's gonna be a case of deja vu. Those belts are coming home."

Manny: "You know what, man?! You managed to hang on to the tag titles by the skin of your teeth in matches with us before we finally won them. If you didn't cheat or get intentionally disqualified in our previous bouts, you guys would have lost these belts long before 'Spring Breakout'!"

Snuka: "Face it, you guys are just temporary champions. There's no way that Don asks for the no re-match clause in the contract if we didn't know we were going to win those babies back on the first try."

Tito: "You guys are awful confident..."

Muraco: "Why shouldn't we be, Tito? This is just a minor glitch for us. Everything will be corrected in three weeks in Baltimore.

"I also think new belts should be made specifically for us. After we defeat you and become the three time World Tag Team Champions, we should be presented belts with nameplates on them. And the two names on those plates should be Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka. And there will be no need to make any other plates because we're gonna be the champs longer then we've ever been before."

Manny: "You guys can talk all you want! The fact is the tag team belts are in our hands right now! If you beat us in Baltimore, then you've got them again and we can't challenge for them for as long as you're the champs.

"But, the flip side to all of this is that if we win, then the only thing you'll be able to do is sit on the sidelines and watch us defend the titles for as long as we hold 'em."

Snuka: "Me and Don are not worried at all. We're at our best in the big money title bouts...."

Manny: "Except the one at 'Spring Breakout'."

Crowd popped. Jimmy wanted to go after Manny and Manny after Snuka but Muraco held Jimmy back and Tito held Manny back.

Muraco: "No one is perfect. But as we've proven, Jimmy Snuka and Don Muraco are about as close to perfect as you can get when it comes to tag team wrestling.

"You two just need to be good sports when you lose to us. Don't act like typical Mexicans and have a temper tantrum like your people do when the leaf blower is broken."

Manny: "That's it!"

Muraco stepped back as Tito once again had to restrain Manny from going after Muraco.

Garea: "That's enough of that kind of talk! You will settle this in the ring in Baltimore on April 17th!"

Tito: "Tony's right. We'll settle this with our actions in the ring."

Snuka: "We will settle it in the ring, Tito. We will. And Los Lobos is not gonna like the end result."

Muraco: "You guys are gonna need a lot of tequila and re-fried beans to drown your sorrows in when we're finished with you in Baltimore."

The pair stared each other down.

Garea: "I will not allow this to get physical tonight.

"Los Lobos, please leave the ring."

After the tense staredown continued for several seconds, Los Lobos turned and started to leave the ring.

Muraco: "That's right! Go! Get out of here! And take all your border busting family members with you!"

Garea: "Don!"

Manny turned and Tito grabbed him and tried to hold him at bay but Manny broke free from Tito's grasp. Manny walked up and got in Muraco's face. Crowd buzzing as the two exchanged pleasantries off-mic. Manny then hauled off and punched Muraco in the jaw and the crowd popped. Muraco stumbled back holding his jaw. Snuka came over to his tag partner and checked on him briefly. Manny just glared at Muraco. Tito was trying to get Manny to leave the ring to no avail.

Garea: "Dammit! I just said that there would be nothing physical between you guys tonight!

"Manny, I'm fining you $2500 dollars for striking Muraco!"

Crowd booed.

Manny looked over at Garea and was seething. Muraco, still holding his jaw, started laughing and pointing at Manny. Manny went to go after Muraco again.

Muraco: "Don't you touch me! Stay away! You don't want to lose any more pesos if you can help it!"

Garea: "Cut it out..."

Manny dropped his belt and charged over and jumped on Muraco and started pounding the hell out of Muraco. Snuka and Tito moved in and worked to separate the two. After a brief struggle, Snuka and Tito succeeded in pulling the men apart. Muraco was hurting but on his feet and Manny was in a rage.

Garea: "You just won't listen, Manny! The fine is now $5000 dollars!"

Manny: "What?!"

Garea: "Los Lobos needs to leave the ring now! Don't make the situation worse for you!"

Manny just glared at Garea for a long moment and then he and Tito looked over at Muraco and Snuka. Muraco had an evil sneer on his face and Snuka was chuckling. Snuka gave the blow off gesture for the champs to leave the ring. Manny and Tito glared at Muraco and Snuka a little longer before finally leaving the ring for the floor and heading back up the aisle. Tito put his hand on Manny's back in an effort to calm him down. Manny turned at the entrance ramp and looked back angrily at Muraco and Snuka, who were still in the ring. Tito was finally able to get Manny to head up the ramp as Muraco waved bye-bye to the pair while wincing in pain. Tito and Manny disappeared to the back as the segment ended.)

Crowd cheered as Scott tossed the mic and ignored the ref, left the ring and dropped to the floor. Bill up and started slowly backing off as Scott moved in on him. Bill tried to beg off but Scott caught Bill and popped him with some punches and went to whip Bill into the ring post but Bill reversed and sent Scott crashing shoulder-first into the post. Scott stumbled off. Ref counting. Bill grabbed Scott and went to whip Scott into one of the opposite ringside barricades but Scott reversed and sent Bill crashing front-first into barricade. The impact sent Bill toppling over the barricade and crashing to the floor. Bill up as Scott climbed over the barricade. Bill backing up as Scott stalked him. Bill then moved into the fourth row of fans at ringside and Scott stalked Bill down the row past the fans. Ref's count hit 20 and he called for the bell...Bill staggered over by an opening in the hockey boards and started backing up the permanent steps as Scott stalked him... Bill staggered off and went through the section tunnel that led to the concourse and Scott followed Bill out. Bill started to back away from Scott and Bill reached over and grabbed a popcorn vendor who was selling popcorn at a stand alone old school popcorn cart and threw the vendor into Scott and then wheeled the popcorn cart into Scott's way. Bill ran into a men's bathroom as Scott gave chase. Scott tried to open the door but Bill had locked it. Scott pounded on the door...Bill quickly opened the door but had a fat guy standing in front of him, Bill shoved the fat guy, who's jeans were down at his knees but his underpants were pulled up and had a toilet paper tail sticking out of them, into Scott. Bill then closed and locked the bathroom door again as Scott shoved fatty out of the way. Scott pounded on the door.)

He was wearing a silver and black tuxedo-like satin jacket with tails. On the back it said 'MDB' in silver lettering with black trim and several silver '$' signs with black trim spread all over the back. He had on a silver bow tie. He was wearing silver and black leg-length tights with the word 'Millionaire' written across the back of the tights in silver lettering with black trim and silver boots with a black $ sign on the outside of each boot. He was carrying his briefcase containing his Battle Royal winnings. Bill made his way to the ring and climbed in.

Bill handed his briefcase to the ref and barked at the ref to handle it with care. Ref then handed the briefcase off to Craig Johnson, who sat it on the timekeeper's table.

Scott was in his long black trench coat, blue jeans, cowboy-style wrestling boots and blue bandana on his head. Scott slapped hands with fans on the way to the ring.

As Scott was stepping into the ring, Bill charged over and jumped Scott and started pounding away on him.

Ref called for the bell.

Bill slammed Scott's head into the top buckle and Scott spun around in the corner. Bill peppered Scott with head and body shots. Bill whipped Scott into the opposite buckles and charged in and Scott got a boot up and Bill crashed face-first into it and went down. Fans cheered. Scott snapped up Bill and whipped Bill into the ropes and dropped Bill coming off with a clothesline. Scott dropped down on Bill and blasted him with head shots. Bill rolling around in the ring holding his head as Scott removed his jacket and tossed it. Bill up and Scott caught Bill with a series of gut shots that drove Bill next to the ropes. Scott whipped Bill into the ropes and caught Bill coming off with a kick to the chest. Bill crashed to the mat. Scott snapped Bill up and went to whip Bill into the ropes but Bill reversed and caught Scott coming off with a flying tackle. Bill moved in and stomped on Scott. Bill snapped Scott up and bodyslammed Scott. Bill quick stomped Scott and Bill went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle and came off with a frog splash that connected. Bill bounced off of Scott but quickly recovered and covered Scott and hooked the leg. 1...2... Scott kicked out. Bill to his knees and Scott had rolled over on his stomach and Bill caught Scott in a front facelock which was clearly an illegal choke. Scott squirming in the hold. Ref started the 5 count and Bill broke the illegal move at the count of 4. Scott rolled over on his back and Bill grabbed the top rope and started choking Scott out with a knee to the throat. Bill broke the illegal move at the count of 4. Scott down grabbing his throat. Bill snapped Scott up and whipped Scott into the ropes and looked to catch Scott coming off with a backdrop but Scott dropped to a knee and blasted Bill with an uppercut to the jaw. Bill shot up and stumbled around the ring holding his jaw. Bill turned and walked right into a series of head shots followed by a discus elbow to the side of the head from Scott. Bill fell against the ropes holding the side of his head. Scott quickly regained his bearings, moved in and caught Bill with a gut punch, whipped Bill into the ropes and caught Bill coming off with a belly-to-belly suplex. Crowd popped. Scott covered Bill and hooked the leg. 1...2...thr... Bill barely kicked out. Crowd groaned. Scott sitting on his knees and Bill down and hurting. Scott snapped Bill up, whipped Bill into the ropes and caught Bill coming off with a kick to the chest. Bill stumbled back and toppled through the top and middle rope and crashed to the floor. Scott completely blew off the ref and left the ring and dropped to the floor. Ref started the 20-count. Scott reached down and snapped Bill up and slammed Bill's head twice into the top of the ringside barricade. Scott grabbed Bill in a side headlock and Bill shoved Scott off and Scott slammed front-first into the ringside barricade. Scott leaned front-first against the barricade. Bill clubbed Scott with a trio of forearm smashes to the back. Count growing. Bill reached under the ring apron and brandished a folded up steel chair. Scott still leaned against the ringside barricade. Bill slowly moved in on Scott and clubbed Scott across the back with the chair just as the count hit 20. Ref called for the bell.

Scott staggered away from the barricade and Bill struck Scott across the back with the chair again. Scott stumbled forward. Bill raised the chair of over his head as Scott turned to face him. Bill went to hit Scott over the head with the chair but Scott instead backdropped Bill to the floor. Bill lost his grip on the chair. A hurting Scott picked the chair up off the floor. Bill made it to his feet and Scott moved in and drove the head of the chair into Bill's gut. Bill doubled over. Scott then raised the chair over his head and brought it crashing down across Bill's back to the delight of the crowd. Bill crashed to the floor. Scott raised the chair in the air with one hand and then held the chair over his head with both hands as Bill slowly got to his feet. Scott went to bring the chair down on Bill's skull but the ref, standing out on the apron grabbed the chair out of Scott's hands just as members of the WCW security team arrived. Security quickly kept Scott and Bill separated. A hurting Bill started staggering off behind a wall of WCW security. Scott, also hurting, looked on angrily at Bill from ringside as Bill backed up the aisle with security keeping the two men apart.

DECISION: Double Count Out - 5:46)

(Announcers discussed the Irwin brothers fighting to a double count out again.Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson: "This is Scott Hudson coming to you from the WCW Interview Center.

"My guest at this time is the self-proclaimed 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor."

Taylor walked into the interview area in his ring attire.

Hudson: "Terry..."

Taylor: "Let me just interrupt you there, Scotty boy.

"I am no the self-proclaimed world's greatest athlete. I AM the world's greatest athlete. There's no debate on this matter."

Hudson: "Whatever you say.

"Tonight, you're squaring off in a 'Spring Breakout' re-match against Randy Savage. You beat Savage the first time you two clashed just over three weeks ago. What's your take on the re-match?"

Taylor: "Randy Savage is one of the best pure athletes in the sport of professional wrestling. But, like I've said before, he's not the best pure athlete in the sport. That honor belongs to me, Terry Taylor, the 'World's Greatest Athlete'.

"I'm sure Savage is going to make another strong showing tonight. But, he's facing the best. And that's gonna be the difference in our match again. The best beats one of the best."

Hudson: "You don't think Savage has much of a chance to win tonight?"

Taylor: "I just explained that clearly. The best, that's me, will get his hand raised again because that small difference in talent between us will separate us once again in the end.

"And Randy Savage needs to know...there's no shame in losing repeatedly to the best."

Hudson: "What's the use in Savage wrestling you multiple times if you're just gonna beat him every time?"

Taylor: "Well, Savage will get a lot of sympathy. He'll make a good showing and then I'll put him down for the count. He loses again, but the fans admire his moxie in defeat. The fans will revere the lesser man for losing one more time to the best in the business today."

Hudson: "Pride comes before a fall."

Taylor: "There's nothing wrong with having a great deal of pride and flaunting it when you're the world's greatest athlete."

Hudson: "That was Terry Taylor. He squares off in a re-match against Randy Savage in our main event. We'll see if he can back up his boast."

Taylor: "I will.")

(Announcers discussed the interview with a cocky Terry Taylor. Hyped the main event. Said Bret Hart makes an appearance after the break.)

(Announcers intro'd a video of the next WCW PPV.

Aerial shot of the city of Los Angeles from a distance. The shot quickly closed in on the city and then the picture sped up until there was an aerial shot over a stadium.

(Announcers intro'd video from last week's Ric Flair-Larry Zbysko match.

Flair tore into Zbysko with more nasty chest chops. The last chop spun Zbysko around facing away from Flair. Zbysko staggered off. Flair removed his t-shirt, came up behind Zbysko and started strangling Zbysko with the shirt. Crowd roaring. Flair released the illegal hold at the count of 4. Flair tossed the shirt. Zbysko staggering around holding his throat. Flair grabbed Zbysko, whipped Zbysko into the ropes and caught Zbysko coming off with his flying forearm shiver to the side of the head finisher. Zbysko crashed to the mat. Flair covered Zbysko. 1...2...thr... Flair again pulled Zbysko up by the hair just before the ref counted three. Ref again reprimanded Flair. Crowd buzzing.

Mixed crowd reaction as Paul Orndorff and Scott Hall, both in street clothes, charged down the aisle to ringside. Orndorff immediately jumped up on the ring apron. Ref went over and ordered Orndorff off the apron and Orndorff started arguing with the ref. Flair looked over and saw Orndorff with the ref. Hall climbed in the ring behind Flair, spun Flair around and blasted Flair with a vicious slap upside the head. Flair stunned. Orndorff and the ref in heated debate and Ondorff grabbed the ref's arm. Ref yelled at Orndorff to let him go. Orndorff released him but kept the ref distracted by arguing with him. Hall grabbed Flair by the throat and nailed Flair with a chokeslam. Flair laid out. Hall bailed back to the floor. Orndorff stopped arguing with the ref and dropped to the floor. Zbysko recovered enough to get to his feet, go over and grab Flair, hoist Flair up and nail Flair with his brainbuster finisher. Zbysko covered Flair. 1...2...3! Ref called for the bell as most of the crowd booed.)

(Announcers discussed the Flair-Zbysko footage.

Madden: "Tony, Flair dominated like 95 percent of that match with Zbysko. He was destroying the guy. Flair made the crucial mistake of not putting Zbysko away when he had the opportunity to do so. He had Zbysko beat three different times in the match, but instead chose to continue the match so he could further punish Zbysko.

"And thanks to Orndorff and Hall, Zbysko escaped with the victory."

Schiavone: "The Firm is winning their self-declared war on Flair on all fronts. They're winning both the psychological battle and the physical battle. I can't see this situation lasting much longer before Flair breaks down if things continue going the way they are right now."

Madden: "Flair's gotta ask himself if he wants to keep fighting a battle that appears unwinnable.

"He's outnumbered 3-to-1 and even when he gets an advantage The Firm is always able to turn the tables on him and tilt things heavily in their favor."

Schiavone: "We need to let the fans know that Ric Flair will be appearing on 'Mayhem' next week. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say and see how well he's holding up under the immense stress."

(In-ring:

Bret was in street clothes and had a mic. Bret slapped hands with fans on the way down the aisle and climbed in the ring and acknowledged the crowd.

Bret: "Just over three weeks ago, the Dynamite Kid and I battled in a 2-out-of-3 falls match at 'Spring Breakout'. It was a great match between two proud wrestlers.

"Our three match series, which started at 'Season's Beatings', were some of the best matches of my career. Dynamite brought out the best in me and I brought out the best in him. All three matches could have gone either way. That's how evenly matched we were.

"But, the thing I'm most proud of is, when it was all over, Dynamite and I finally shook hands and buried the hatchet once and for all."

Crowd cheered.

Bret: "We have more respect for each other now than we ever did before. Dynamite, I salute you.

"Now, it's time to shift my focus.

"I entered World Class Wrestling to face the best competition here. And now I'm looking to start the climb up the proverbial mountain for one thing...the World Heavyweight Championship."

More cheers.

Bret: "I'm looking to work my way up to the #1 contender spot to challenge the New Spoiler for the belt.

"Being the World Champion is what my dad trained his sons for. I won the world title in the WWE and World Championship Wrestling. Winning it in World Class Wrestling is the next thing on my to do list.

"The New Spoiler is a formidable foe. He's never lost since he arrived in WCW. That's 18 months of beating everyone who has stepped in the ring with him. His resume' is impeccable. He's beaten some of the biggest names in this sport. He doesn't shy away from a challenge. And now it's time for me to throw my hat in the ring and challenge for the most prized title in our sport.

"One of the things that will..."

Crowd booed as Davey Boy Smith, in street clothes, made his way to the ring with mic in hand. Bret looked on as Smith climbed into the ring and started walking around.

Bret: "What do you want, Davey?"

Smith: "You said you buried the hatchet with Dynamite after your match at 'Spring Breakout'."

Bret: "And?"

Smith: "Well, I buried your buddy Dynamite in this ring last week!"

Crowd booed.

Bret: "The great thing about this sport is that anything can happen. Wrestling is called human chess for a reason."

Smith (mockingly): "Wrestling is called human chess for a reason."

Smith turned serious.

Smith: "I came out here because I had something to say, Bret.

"These fans love you and the Hart family. You're all considered legends in our business.

"But I'm here to tell everyone the truth.

"You see, Bret was one of 12 children of Stu and Helen Hart. I have known them all very well.

"And the Hart kids were some of the most snotty, entitled people you could ever meet."

More boos.

Bret: "Davey, if you have something to say about me, fine. But don't bring my family into this."

Smith: "I will talk about them if I feel it's important.

"The kids were all spoiled brats. They were the children of Canadian wrestling legend and shooter Stu Hart. They all acted like they were above everyone, not only in Calgary, but all of Alberta."

Bret: "Hey! Hey! Hey! You know that's not true! Don't push it, Davey! I mean it!"

Smith: "Stu was said to be a great trainer of wrestlers. Ha! Stu Hart was one of the most sadistic men I ever met in my life!"

Bret: "Leave my father out of this! Don't go there..."

Smith: "You see, in the famous Hart Dungeon, where Stu supposedly trained wrestlers, he would torture the trainees by twisting their bodies in ways they weren't supposed to be twisted. Stu, being the sadist he was, liked to record the sounds of the aspiring wrestlers screaming out in great pain. Stu sometimes made them pass out in the holds he locked them in. And Stu found it funny. That's how ol' shooter Stu got his kicks.

"There was also blood on the walls of the Dungeon. That was because Stu also like to make those he trained bleed."

Bret: "That's enough!"

Smith: "I'm not done! Nooooooooooooo sir!

"Stu cared nothing about the wrestlers not named Hart who worked in Stampede! He was a lousy payoff guy! He made us travel around in this rickety old van on dangerous roads in winter to get from town to town for each show! Cared nothing about our safety! We all had to struggle to survive! That is...unless your last name was Hart!"

Bret: "That's it!

"Davey, you're such a liar! My father may have locked guys in some painful holds in the dungeon! But he did it to toughen the boys up for a life in wrestling! The blood on the walls?! This is a combat sport in case you've forgotten! Sometimes, guys training together would bust each other open! This ain't ballet!

"My father paid as well as he could considering the size of the territory! And guys at the bottom always, no matter where you started in this business, didn't make a lot of money! They were learning their craft!

"And we treated you like one of the family, Davey! You stayed in our home! You ate our food! You trained with us Hart kids! You thanked my father for all he had done for you! What happened, Davey?! You forget that?!

Smith: "Looking back, Bret, I was wrong when I thanked your dad for what he had done for me.

"Once I got out of the Hart House of Horrors, I was able to see clearly! And what I saw was that your dad was just a manipulator! He was nothing but a user of people to line his pockets and boost his own ego and reputation..."

Bret suddenly slapped the mic out of Smith's hand.

Crowd buzzing.

Davey threw up his hands and backed off as Bret glared at him. Smith then turned like he was gonna leave the ring. Bret made the mistake of turn his head and Smith spun around and dropped Bret with a sucker punch to the jaw. Bret dropped the mic. Smith stomped away on Bret, snapped Bret up, backed into the corner and charged out and blasted Bret with his running powerslam finisher. Bret laid out in the ring.

Smith picked up his mic off the mat.

Smith walked over and stood over the laid out Bret.

Smith: "Stu! I wish you were around to see this! This is your legacy! Right here!"

Smith pointed down at Bret.

Smith stood over Bret for a few seconds longer before tossing the mic and leaving the ring and heading back up the aisle to boos.)

(Announcers discussed Smith verbally and physically attacking Bret. Then sent it backstage.)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Randy Savage was standing in the WCW Interview Center with his back turned to the camera.

Hudson: "I'm here in the WCW Interview Center with Randy Savage.

"Randy, tonight you're facing the 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor in a re-match from 'Spring Breakout'.

"Taylor was out here earlier and seems confident in scoring another victory over you. Your thoughts?"

Savage was still facing the wall.

Savage: "Tonight, the 'Macho Man' has a shot at redemption. Yeah."

Savage slowly spun around and removed his sunglasses.

Savage: "Terry Taylor, ummm-hmmm, he says that he's the greatest athlete in the world. Not just the greatest athlete in wrestling; the greatest athlete in the entire world.

"But even the best of the best lose sometimes. Dig it?!

"And tonight's my chance to make Terry Taylor feel the sting of the insanity that is 'Macho Madness' and hand him one of those rare defeats!

"Oh Yeah!"

Savage walked out of the interview area.

Hudson: "It's Randy Savage vs. the self-proclaimed 'World's Greatest Athlete' Terry Taylor in our main event and it's coming up!)

(Commercials)

(Backstage: Scott Hudson.

Hudson was standing in the WCW Interview Center.

Hudson: "I'm here with Tony Garea of the championship committee.

"Tony, earlier tonight you fined Manny Fernandez $5,000 dollars for hitting Don Muraco twice. But, there was no punishment for Muraco for the incendiary statements he made about the the heritage of Tito and Manny. Why?"

Garea: "I warned both sides not to get physical with each other tonight. I was more than clear on that. Manny struck Don Muraco on two occasions.

"A blatant disregard for rules laid down by a WCW official cannot be tolerated, Scott."

Hudson: "But..."

Garea: "But nothing. What Muraco said was odious. But they were words, Scott. Words. Fight words with more words. Manny may have said stuff as unsavory as what Muraco said. But at least it would have been only talk.

"Manny crossed the line and will pay for it.

"However, next week, it has been decided by the match-making committee that the main event on 'Mayhem' will be Don Muraco and Jimmy Snuka vs. The Skyscrapers."

Hudson: "Sounds like that may be a punishment for Snuka and Muraco as they head into their tag team title re-match on the 'Mayhem' third anniversary show on April 17th.

"And..."

Voice off-camera: "Garea! Garea!"

A still hurting Bret Hart came walking into the picture.

Bret: "I don't care what anybody has to do! I want a match with Davey Boy Smith...soon!"

Bret stalked off.

Garea: "That's gonna have to be taken up with the match-making committee."

Bret (off-camera): "Just get it done!"

Garea and Hudson looked on as the segment ended.)

Taylor came out wearing a letterman's jacket with a blue body and white sleeves. On the right front side of the jacket was a football and on the left front side were the overlaid 'TT' initials (think the Texas Tech main logo) in white lettering, blue cyclist-type tights that came down almost to the knee. The tights had a white stripe on the outside of each leg and the overlaid 'TT' white logo on the lower front side of the left leg. In stilted silver lettering on the back of the tights were the initials 'WGA'. He also wore blue boots with the overlaid white 'TT' logo on them.

Taylor walked down the aisle, up the ring steps and climbed into the ring and took off his ring jacket and handed it to a ringside attendant.

Taylor then walked out to the middle of the ring and started running in place. Taylor turned in the direction of all four sides of the ring during this routine. Taylor then did 10 jumping jacks and then dropped and did 10 regular push-ups. Crowd was booing even louder now as Taylor stopped showing off and went to his corner.

'Pomp And Circumstance'

Savage was in his flowing robe with 'Macho Man' written across the back in cursive lettering and a pair of sunglasses above the words. Savage was in his pink tights with three white stars on the front and 'Macho Man' in white block letters on the back, yellow boots with a white star on the outside of each boot, sunglasses and headband. Savage made his way to the ring and climbed in and briefly played to the crowd.

Ref called for the bell.

The two men came out of their corners and circled one another and engaged in a collar-and-elbow tie-up and Taylor drove Savage into the corner. Ref called for a break and the break was clean. Taylor did a couple of quick jumping jacks. The two men circled one another again and engaged in another collar-and-elbow tie-up and Taylor gained the advantage and locked Savage in a side headlock. Taylor briefly worked over the hold. Savage shoved Taylor off and Taylor hit the ropes and came off and Savage caught Taylor with a back elbow to the chest. Taylor went down but quickly got to his feet and walked right into a series of jabs from Savage. The last jab dropped Taylor. Taylor up and Savage charged in and took Taylor down with a lariat takedown. Savage up and started mocking Taylor by wildly running in place to the delight of the crowd. A stunned Taylor made it to his feet and Savage moved in and jumped on Taylor and pounded on Taylor. Savage then suplexed Taylor and then hit Taylor with a jumping kneedrop to the chest. Savage covered Taylor. 1...2... Taylor kicked out. Savage reached down and started to pull Taylor up and Taylor stunned Savage with a jawbreaker to the top of the head. Savage crashed to the mat holding his jaw. Taylor stumbled back and quickly regained his bearings. Savage sat up and Taylor moved in and locked Savage in a rear chinlock. Taylor had his knee firmly planted in Savage's back. Taylor worked over the chinlock for several seconds but Savage wouldn't give up. Taylor released the hold and dropped an elbow smash to the top of Savage's head. Taylor snapped Savage up, whipped Savage into the ropes and caught Savage coming off with a dropkick. Savage crashed to the mat. Taylor moved in and stomped on Savage. Taylor snapped Savage up, whipped Savage into the ropes and caught Savage coming off with a spinebuster. Taylor for the cover. 1... Savage kicked out. Taylor snapped Savage up and prepared to hit Savage with his 'World's Greatest Finale' (Pedigree) finisher but Savage got his arms free and backdropped Taylor to the mat. Savage fell front-first against the ropes. Taylor up and Savage slowly started to turn around. Taylor went to kick Savage but Savage grabbed Taylor's leg. Taylor tried to beg off to no avail as Savage caught Taylor with a trio of head shots. Savage spun the dazed Taylor around facing away from him. Savage rolled Taylor up from behind for the pin. 1...2... Taylor kicked out. Savage picked Taylor up and went to bodyslam Taylor but Taylor caught Savage in a small package for the pin. 1... Savage kicked out. Both men to their feet and Taylor went to punch Savage but Savage blocked the punch try and fired away on Taylor with a series of jabs that drove Taylor next to the ropes. Savage working over Taylor with punches when Taylor suddenly reached down, grabbed Savage and backdropped Savage over the top rope and Savage crashed to the floor.

Taylor dropped to his knees in the ring shaking out the affects of Savage's punches. Taylor slowly made it to his feet. Ref ordered Taylor to stand back but Taylor ignored the ref and left the ring and dropped to the floor. Savage getting to his feet facing away from Taylor. Taylor came up behind Savage and clubbed Savage with a double sledge to the back. Savage stayed on his feet and stumbled forward. Taylor grabbed Savage and slammed Savage's head three times into the top of the ringside barricade. Savage staggered off. Ref counting. Taylor shoved Savage towards the ring post.. Savage slammed into the post and bent over on the floor and staggered off. Taylor quickly rolled in and out of the ring to break the 20-count. Taylor grabbed Savage and whipped Savage into the ringside barricade on an opposite side of the ring. Taylor charged in on Savage but Savage moved and Taylor crashed front-first into the barricade. Taylor quickly extricated himself from the barricade and was grabbing his gut in great pain. Ref counting. Savage regained his bearings and charged over and dropped Taylor with a takedown lariat on the floor as the fans cheered. Savage climbed into the ring to break the count. Savage went over and mounted the top buckle as Taylor slowly got to his feet. Taylor up and Savage came off the top buckle with a double axe handle to the top of the head that sent Taylor crashing back to the floor. Savage snapped Taylor up and threw Taylor back into the ring and Savage followed. Taylor to a knee as Savage moved in on Taylor and Taylor stunned Savage with a couple of gut shots. Taylor to his feet and popped Savage with a series of forearm shivers to the side of the head. Savage stumbled around holding his head. Taylor came up behind Savage and spun Savage around caught Savage with a gut punch that doubled Savage over. Taylor moved in and popped Savage with a swinging kneelift to the chest that sent Savage crashing to the mat. Taylor covered Savage. 1... Taylor placed his feet on the bottom rope for leverage. ....2... Savage got a shoulder up. Taylor quickly took his feet off the bottom rope. Taylor quickly pinned Savage again and hooked the leg and this time got even more brazen and placed a foot on the middle rope for leverage. 1...2...thr... Ref looked over and saw Taylor's foot on the middle rope and ordered a break. Taylor released the hold and got up immediately and stomped Savage. Taylor snapped Savage up and drove Savage back-first into the buckles. Taylor laid into Savage with a rapid-fire series of shoulder blocks to the gut. Savage limp in the corner. Taylor pulled Savage out of the corner and nailed Savage with a suplex followed by a series of rapid-fire elbow smashes to the chest. Taylor covered Savage and hooked the leg. 1...2... Savage kicked out. Crowd cheered. Taylor snapped Savage up, dropped back and hot-shotted Savage throat-first. across the top rope. Savage stumbled back and crashed to the mat holding his throat. Taylor took the opportunity to do some quick running in place to the boos of the crowd.

Taylor snapped Savage up and went to whip Savage into the ropes but Savage reversed and caught Taylor coming off with a powerslam. Crowd popped. Taylor down. Savage down also, but managed to recover quickly and climb on top of Taylor and pop Taylor with some head shots. Savage up and pointed at the buckles. Crowd buzzing. Savage went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle as Taylor slowly got to his feet. Taylor turned and Savage came off the top buckle with an elbow smash to the top of the head that connected. Taylor wobbly but not down. Savage repaid Taylor for the earlier hot-shot by nailing Taylor with a hairpull hangman on the top rope. Taylor snapped back and crashed to the mat. Savage quickly climbed back into the ring as a suddenly shaky Taylor got to his feet. Savage moved in on Taylor as Taylor backed up and Taylor swung wildly at Savage and missed and spun himself around and Savage caught Taylor in the sleeper. Crowd popped. Taylor struggling to free himself from the hold. Taylor started to fade. Taylor managed to maneuver around while locked in the hold and drove Savage back-first into the buckles. Savage's grip loosened on the sleeper. Taylor repeated the move and freed himself from Savage's grasp. Savage hurting in the corner and Taylor turned and caught Savage with a kick to the gut. Taylor quickly regained his bearings, moved in, pulled Savage out of the corner by the hair and violently threw Savage back into the corner. The back of Savage's head slammed into the top buckle and Savage crashed to the mat. Taylor pulled Savage out of the corner by the hair and nailed Savage with a belly-to-back suplex into a bridgeout for the pin. 1...2...thr... Savage kicked out. Crowd cheered. Savage slowly up and Taylor caught the unsteady Savage with a kick to the gut. Taylor again went to hit Savage with his 'World's Greatest Finale' finisher, but Savage again escaped Taylor's grasp, grabbed Taylor around the waist and drove Taylor hard into the buckles. Taylor hurting in the corner. Savage staggered around in the ring trying to regain his bearings. Savage then moved in on Taylor and Taylor came out of the corner and hit Savage with a back elbow to the chest. Savage stunned. Taylor hit Savage with a head shot. Savage responded with a jab. The two then engaged in a deliberate punch/jab exchange and Savage got the upper hand and tore into Taylor with a brutal series of jabs. Taylor on shaky legs as Savage backed up and charged over and pulverized Taylor with a vicious right cross to the jaw. Taylor crashed to the mat. Crowd roaring. Savage picked up Taylor and bodyslammed Taylor. Savage went out on the apron and mounted the top buckle. Crowd eating it up. Savage raised his arms in the air and came off with his big elbow from the top rope finisher that connected. Savage grabbed Taylor's leg and rolled back over on top of Taylor for the pin. 1...2...3! Crowd exploded as the ref called for the bell.

Savage released Taylor's leg and slowly got to his feet and the ref raised Savage's hand in victory as the program faded to black.
