We are RIZIN!

Recommended Posts

So, yeah, Cymro's dynasty inspired me to try one of my own again. For that, I decided to control my favorite company right now: Rizin Fighting Federation!

I'll be controling Nobuhiko Takada as Rizin's CEO under Sakakibara's ownership of the company (not sure if it affects something in the gameplay). My plans for the company is to continue holding Super Shows and a Grand Prix every year, ending in the New Year's Eve.

Also, like cymro, i'll try to make this more like a diary and thoughts than my IFL try.

So, the roster:

The Heavyweight Division (206lbs - 600)

Stars: Fedor Emelianenko, Wanderlei Silva, Mirko Cro Cop, Jerome Le Banner, Shane Carwin, Heath Herring, Kazuyuki Fujita, Satoshi Ishii and Tsuyoshi Kosaka.

Other Guys: Alison Vicente, Amir Aliakbari, Chris Barnett, Geronimo dos Santos, Hyun Man Myung, Jaideep Singh, Joao Almeida, Baruto, Kirill Sidelnikov, Mark Tanios and Szymon Bajor.

My Thoughts: Well, there are a lot of legends in the Heavyweight Division. The only one that won't be retiring in the near future is Satoshi Ishii, even tough he is not that young anymore.

In the rest of the division i can only highlight Amir Aliakbari. The Iranian Beast is looking like the next Star in the division. But, it's not enough.

I'll have to sign some new guys quickly and start pushing them to replace the Legends.

The Middleweight Division (184lbs - 205lbs)

Stars: King Mo

Other Guys: Jiri Prochazka, Karl Albrektsson, Teodoras Aukstuolis, Vadim Nemkov and Valentin Moldavsky.

My Thoughts: All of these fighters can and have been fighting in the Heavyweight division. The Upside in this division is huge, all of the fighters are young (Except for King Mo, of course) and are already familiar to the Rizin ring. If I can find a few other promising fighters to fill this division, i have no doubts it could turn into our most competitive division.

The Welterweight Division (162lbs - 183)

Stars: Hayato 'Mach' Sakurai.

Other Guys: Hisaki Kato, Yuta Watanabe.

My Thoughts: Not much to talk about here. Sakurai is a 41 years old legend, Kato is a good fighter but already 34 years old and Watanabe is already 32. I'll have to build this division entirely, but this won't be a priority right now.

The Lightweight Division (139lbs - 161lbs)

Stars: Tatsuya Kawajiri, Satoru Kitaoka, Kron Gracie, Hideo Tokoro, Daron Cruickshank.

Other Guys: Andy Souwer, Anthony Birchak, Charles Bennett, Erson Yamamoto, Hiroyuki Takaya, Kazuyuki Miyata, Mario Sismundo, Minoru Kimura, Shinji Sasaki, Yuichiro Nagashima, Yusuke Yachi.

My Thoughts: Another Division that is filled with older fighters. Most of them can still fight in a high level, but i'll have to start working with their replacements.

On the younger side, Kron Gracie, Yasuke Yachi and Erson Yamamoto are looking impressive already.

The Flyweight Division (90lbs - 138lbs)

Stars: Kyoji Horiguchi

Other Guys: Allan Nascimento, Dillin West, Dylan Oligo, Francesco Ghigliotti, Kai Kara-France, Kizaemon Saiga, Nikita Sapun, Seiichiro Ito, Tatsumitsu Wada, Tenshin Nasukawa and Yuki Motoya.

My Thoughts: Despite the lack of stars, it'll be really fun to see how this division evolves. Kyoji Horiguchi is ranked as the #4 Flyweight in the world and, clearly, is the king of this division.

But, Allan Nascimento, Kizaemon Saiga, Nikita Sapun, Seiichiro Ito and the Phenom Tenshin Nasukawa are fighters that have a lot of upside and can really surprise him.

The Womens Openweight Division (165lbs - 600lbs)

Stars: Gabi Garcia

Other Ladies: Anna Malyukova, Destanie Yarbrough, Jazzy Gabert, Seini Draughn, King Reina, Shinobu Kandori and Yumiko Hotta

My Thoughts: Yeah, i have no idea what to do with this. I'll probably have Gabi Garcia face King Reina, then i don't know. Send me ideas!

The Womens Strawweight Division (90lbs - 125lbs)

Stars: Rin Nakai and Rena.

Other Ladies: Aleksandra Toncheva, Alyssa Garcia, Andy Nguyen, Bestare Kicaj, Dora Perjes, Hanna Gujwan, Kanako Murata, Kanna Asakura, Kyra Batara, Miyuu Yamamoto, Natalia Denisova, Saori Ishioka.

My Thoughts: This Division is quite similar with what i expect from the Flyweight Division. There's a lot of girls with huge upside here, including the JMMA Star Rena.

Last Thoughts

After Rizin: Sakura, the next event will probably be the first round of the Flyweight Grand Prix, so I'll try to bring a few more guys to fill the 16 man Tournament.

One thing i like about the PRIDE weight classes is that a fighter can easily fight in other division so i can bring some lightweight like Erson Yamamoto for the Flyweight Division GP if needed.

Next post, I'll list my signings and set the GP Bracket.

First off, I'm glad I inspired you to start a new dynasty. I like the look of this. I did tinker with the idea of doing one with RIZIN, but I don't have enough knowledge of the Japanese scene to make it good enough.

I'll keep an eye out on this because it looks really good.

The Flyweight Grand Prix 2017

I decided to do something a little bit different in the bracket for the Flyweight Grand Prix. Instead of just select the fighters randomly i tried to do something more like what's described in K-1 World Grand Prix.

The process looks like a lottery show in the beginning with all the fighters pulling a ball from a glass bowl. The balls represent numbers 1 to 8, which determines the fighters' order in choosing a position from a giant tournament tree figure by standing in front a drawn bracket (from A to H) on the poster, which represents the fighter's corner-color and the line-number of the match. The next fighter does the same, but he can now choose between challenging the one on the stage or an "empty" section. This procedure goes on until one fighter remains who has no choice just to fill to one slot left next to the one lone fighter. This system gives a freedom of choice and tactics to the fighters with the help of a little luck.

So, I tried to mimick what the fighters would have chosen in this scenario. Anyway, the first fighter selected was Chute Boxe's Allan Nascimento.

The second fighter selected was Yuki Motoya and he decided to engage Allan Nascimento in the first round of the Grand Prix, citing his Split Decision victory over the Brazilian last December.

The third fighter selected was LFA's Darrick Minner.

The fourth fighter selected was UFC veteran Ali Bagautinov and the Russian decided to face Minner, guaranteeing he can beat any of the three fighters selected before him.

The fifth fighter was UFC Veteran Darrell Montague.

The sixth fighter selected was UFC Veteran Michael McDonald, he decided to fill another open slot.

The seventh fighter selected was Zst Champion Seiichiro Ito, he decided to fill the next open slot.

The eight fighter selected was Junji Ito, he decided to challenge Seiichiro Ito.

The ninth fighter selected was Luis Rafael Laurentino, he decided to fill the next open slot.

The tenth fighter selected was Kizaemon Saiga, he decided to challenge Luis Rafael Laurentino.

The eleventh fighter selected was Takeya Mizugaki, he decided to challenge Darrell Montague.

The twelfth fighter selected was Nikita Sapun, he decided to fill the next open slot.

The thirteenth fighter selected was Kai Kara-France, he decided to challenge Nikita Sapun.

The fourteenth fighter selected was Tenshin Nasukawa, he decided to fill the last open slot.

The fifteenth fighter selected was Tatsumitsu Wada, he doesn't have a choice and will face Michael McDonald.

The last fighter selected was Kyoji Horiguchi and he will face Striking Phenom Tenshin Nasukawa!

That leaves us with this:

Allan Nascimento vs Yuki Motoya

Darrick Minner vs Ali Bagautinov

Darrell Montague vs Takeya Mizugaki

Michael McDonald vs Tatsumitsu Wada

Seiichiro Ito vs Junji Ito

Luis Rafael Laurentino vs Kizaemon Saiga

Nikita Sapun vs Kai Kara-France

Tenshin Nasukawa vs Kyoji Horiguchi

I'd pick Tenshin to win, but that is almost impossible with who he is facing first.

Is the winner of the grand prix getting a belt? Because if so, it's almost better if Tenshin loses, so that you can build him up to be a more balanced fighter. Because as far as I'm aware he has great stand up, but limited ground skills.
