Press Conference held in the Uptown Meeting Room at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel

Welcome to the newest wrestling promotion in the United States, the Longhorn Wrestling League. I have had a passion for wrestling since my teens and now approaching 40, I have decided to change careers and start the Longhorn Wrestling League here in the Mid-South region in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of Texas.

Why did I leave the confines of the southern California region of the South West and start in the Mid-South area? Frankly, the competition. One of the largest promotions, HGC, resides in my area and I think I will have a lower profile outside of my home base, so I packed up the family and headed to Texas.

Thoughts going forward.

No heel/face divide for about year or so to get to know my roster

Pay well for the backstage personnel

Use mostly young lighter weight talent for the first year or two before expanding

Hire a few older, experienced pros to help the others

Mostly single matches for the first year

No titles for the nine months to a year

Women division to be added later. May borrow some talent to showcase.

Plan to put on a show in South East region as well so have more wrestlers and split brand to cover the extra shows

Welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy the show.

Sunday - Tuesday Week 1 January 1997

News Conference held in the Uptown Meeting Room at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel.

I am excited about some new signings that came through today.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Karl%20Jackson-min_zpsypigsxwm.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/The%20Guru-min_zpsqyazqvaz.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/El%20Pistolero-min_zpse6kk9sj0.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Lionheart%20Lawson-min_zps35zgxkcf.jpg

First, Karl Jackson from the Great Lakes area comes in as Road Agent and will help in interviews and announcer. He was a long serving member of SWF roster prior to his retirement. Karl said he was glad to come on board to help a new generation of talent improve their skills.

Next, The Guru from New England has agreed to help in the announcing booth when he can spare the time from CZCW. We are excited to have him join us.

Third, we have added El Pistolero, 24, from South Eastern Mexico. His exciting Luchador style should fit in well with Tigre Salvaje and Pablo Rodriguez.

We also signed Chris “Lionheart” Lawson from the South East. Chris is an established veteran on the east coast who is knownfor being able to have a solid match with just about anyone. He has been brought in to help establish the rising young stars in the promotion.

http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Tate%20Lyall-min_zpsww4dqgp0.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Golden%20Fox-min_zpsfo5yv2qq.jpghttp://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah85/Brian_Brumby/Dixie%20Diamond_alt3-min_zpsbroc5zia.jpg

A newcomer, Tate Lyall was signed today. The 23-year-old comes from the South West where he is going to split time with CZCW and ourselves.

We signed a real veteran today. Let me introduce to you Golden Fox, 41, from the South West. Golden is a freelance worker who is known for his globetrotting ways. He has had runs with most of the most of the major US territories in his illustrious career. He has been brought in to give spectacular show

To round out the recent signings, we have hired Dixie Diamond, XX (I will never tell), from the Tri State area to bolster the announcing booth and the backstage interviews. Approaching the end of her career, she approached us to move into a non-wrestling role and have an active role in the South-East expansion.

Looking forward to South East Storm coming in 13 days as we try to crack another region.
