alpha2117 Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 <p>The thing 3D has over IRAY for TEW renders is the end product is little 150 x 150 squares - that lends itself to the more cartoony style of 3D because at that small size subtlety becomes less important than making it pop. So the face painted green haired guy pops more in 3D but looks more human in IRAY. If you were doing full page renders then I'd say IRAY is better because of a lot of subtle details but in those little boxes I think 3D seems to be the consensus pick. I am sure there are certain figures where the IRAY is better for the TEW size picks but in general 3D just seems to work slightly better for this purpose.</p><p> </p><p> I don't think it's a case of preferring one over another it's more a case of picking the right one for your purpose.</p> Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I prefer 3DL over Iray myself when it comes to TEW renders. </p><p> </p><p> Have you tried experimenting with any shaders? But it is on my list of things to play with further.</p><p> </p><p> Thanks for all the suggestions and kind/useful comments, I feel this has been a successful initial few hours using Daz.
