Welcome all to the first official look into the Heartverse!

 

 

This is partly a tease for the mod (although it is still quite far off) but it is mainly an opening to see if anyone is interest in joining the team. Here we shall be laying down the basic principles behind the mod as it stands today and plans for the future. The mod is a complete Fantasy mod full of created workers and companies from scratch, so any ideas are welcome from anyone, even if it’s just a passing comment. So, without delay, here is the General Overview of the mod in its current state and what is planned for the release.

 

The Wrestling World

 

2017 is the year that the War begins. The First International Wrestling War is coming to ahead with developments in America, Britain, and Japan. The 3 largest and most influential companies in the world are now at war with one another for dominance over the Wrestling Industry. The Oldest company currently still running, British Sports Grappling, is the bedrock of the classic British Technical style and its presentation is geared up for the old school storytelling approach to Wrestling. Sekai Puroresu Federeshon or SPF has made waves in the Japanese market and now is starting to grow into other regions with its Hard-hitting Strong Style approach to wrestling helping a lot. The Final member of the trio, the youngest yet largest promotion is the Murican Wrestling Federation (or MWF) based in the USA. The MWF focuses on Entertainment aspect of wrestling a lot more than SPF and BSG creating some of the most beloved storylines in wrestling history since its creating in 1995. These 3 are heading on a collision course to see who is the greatest company in the world.

 

America

 

Although dominated by the MWF, there are a few smaller promotions in and around the major Wrestling hotspots in America. These promotions while small, do have a lot of good talent that has been over looked by the MWF, but maybe not for so much longer. The MWF does have some competition but it’s not such a large issue.

 

Canada

 

After the Crash of the Canadian Wrestling Giant Canadian Wrestling Coalition in 2005, the entire Canadian wrestling went bankrupt with almost no promotions running shows independently in the area. The industry was dead until a few years ago when small wrestling promotions started to grow, but it’s still too soon to really tell if the industry is on the road to recovery.

 

Mexico

 

Mexico is currently in a long and bloody national war with several companies competing to be the dominant power in Lucha Libre. Mexican Wrestling took a dark twist at GFLL La Gran Lucha XXX where Britania Negro screwed Britania out of his title going against the bookers wishes. This lead Britania Negro leaving GFLL and then setting up his own promotion and leading a new revolution in Lucha Libre – the Hardcore Revolution. He helped drive both GFLL and traditional lucha libre out of Mexico with only one bastion of the original lucha left surrounded by the mixture of Lucha and Garbage wrestling around them.

 

Japan and Britain

 

The Japanese wrestling has remained unchanged for a long time. SPF are the top promotion with the MMA influenced federation RJPW a distant second. The rest of the Japanese promotions lack a lot of the Star power needed to grow past the point they are at already.

British Wrestling is in a similar point to Japan. BSG is by far the largest promotion and the other options are limited. The promotions that do functions often serve as a platform to enhance talent in Britain for BSG although it has been relatively unsuccessful recently.

 

Europe

 

After seeing the fall of the CWC and Canadian Wrestling Industry in 2004, when then European member of the Original 6 fell in May 2006, The European wrestling industry was ready and by January 2007 formed the European Wrestling Union (otherwise known as the EWU). This includes all major national promotions such as 3L and PPG. These all now work together well (as the brits didn’t want to join) but they will have to deal with a new wave of international attention as many predict that Europe’s best talent will be raided by the likes of SPF, BSG and MWF to help win the Global war.

 

Australia

 

Australia has only one company and there is no other competition there. WZW is based New Zealand but has majorly grown all over mainland Australia. This Company is run as a gang warfare company with different “gangs” trying to take control over the company and championships. WZW has the largest TV deal in Australia and such is really the only available options in Australia for Pro Wrestling

 

The Original 6

 

The Original 6 were the largest promotions that dominated the wrestling industry during the 1970s and 80s as they all grew to National Status during the 1960s. They were able to produce some of the greatest wrestling rivalries, matches and shows ever produced by anywhere in the world and all had been respectful of the areas that each controlled. But by the 1990s the tide started to change and all the Original 6 began to decline and by the early to mid-2000’s, 3 of the Original 6 had declared bankruptcy and another was very close too. Although SPF, BSG and the AAWP all are around, only BSG and SPF are only just now back to their former heights and the AAWP doesn’t look like they will be able to challenge for dominance in America any time soon.

I've been wondering about this recently. There are some people on here that are working their butts off with these fictional universes. The amount of work, creativity, and quality is jaw dropping, but with the amount of work and time that it must take to create them wouldn't it be easier to combine them into 1 mod? Any ideas that you couldn't use from combining could be used for yet to debut companies and workers. It just seems like a lot less work to me. It seemed to work for the Thunderverse.

For example, the Idea of a "Hardcore Revolution" in Mexico for instance if thrown in, could stop other ideas for Mexican companies even existing. And with alot of people around one mod there does become an issue of "Too many Cooks in the kitchen" which could hamper the mods quality.</p>

Doesn't having companies and workers set to yet to debut fix that? For example, you use one person's ideas for Mexico in the current date release and then the other people's ideas for companies and workers in Mexico could be released later on in the game.

<p>The best way to do a combined mod would be to organise it up front. Meshing them together can become difficult but I imagine it's especially difficult if you are trying to merge partly filled areas with another partly filled area. Also people need to remember that people tend to want their creative voice to be dominant in their mod and everyone has a different voice. If you look at the Heartverse description it has a very clear vision of what it wants for the world and that's very different from say Rockverse, Londonverse or Titanverse. </p><p> </p><p>

It's all a lot of work of course. I've been writing some bios for Titanverse and it's inherently difficult to come up with something fun and different. It would be easy enough to create generic bios but what's the fun in that either as a creator or player. Half my mission is trying to pop WillyWillyWilly because it's his mod - if he enjoys a bio then I've done the job. Bios are the easy part in comparison to data too. </p><p> </p><p>
