TCW: No Tommy? No Problem!

Recommended Posts

In 2015, Tommy Cornell, arguably the greatest professional wrestler of all time, packed his bags and left his home for the last decade, TCW, and moved to his home country of England to run 21CW.

His legacy at Total Championship Wrestling is undeniable. From the decision to purchase the struggling Hollyweird Grappling Company and turn it into TCW as we know it today, all the way to cementing TCW as the ultimate alternative to USPW and more importantly, SWF.

But now, with Kyle Rhodes as the new owner, TCW needed a new head booker. Someone who can take the company into dominance over the two competitors. Someone who knows the industry and the American wrestling scene.

Someone. Like Peter Michaels.

A veteran announcer beloved by almost everyone, who had his fair share of booking experience and has unfinished business with USPW and especially SWF, but was never part of TCW.

Can he show the world that his booking had nothing to do with USPW's rise? Or will he fall flat again and end his legendary(?) career?

Whatever it may be, we will do it without Tommy Cornell.

(OOC) This is my first ever diary written on TEW 2016. I'm not expecting nice comments though, I want to get criticized for everything: writing, grammar, vocabulary, booking, decisions, whatever. I will admit I already booked 5 shows including Malice At The Palace, but it was only to make sure I get invested in this save. I already made a mistake not writing a diary on my WCW Lives save (of which I'll talk about a lot probably), so this time I'm gonna try and do it.

My first dilema is whether or not just post all the shows I booked at once or have a few days in between them?

Tuesday, Week 1, January 2016

TCW Presents Total Wrestling! Live from The Ranch Of San Antonio Only On USA Sports 1!

The show starts with pyro and an intro showing the highlights from Psycho Circus last Sunday, and we move to the announce desk.

Azaria: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! This is Total Wrestling, live from the sold out arena here in The Ranch!

Rhodes: And not just any Total Wrestling, but the first ever show on USA Sports 1! This will be a new time for TCW, and it all starts TONIGHT!

Azaria: We have a great show ready for you as International Champion Marc Speed will defend his title against Darryl Devine, And in the main event of the night Ricky Dale Johnson will go one on one with Bryan Vessey in a veteran fight.

*

Azaria: All of that can wait, though, as the former World Heavyweight Champion is here and he looks like he has something to say.

Golden: Last Sunday, at Psycho Circus, Aaron Andrews pinned RDJ for MY title. I knew the odds are very much against me coming into the match, but it doesn't mean it's fair. Andrews never pinned me, he knew he has to pin someone else to win and he did just that, yet he keeps saying how he's not getting the respect he deserves from TCW.

So if respect is so important to you, Andrews, if you want people to take you seriously, why not come out here and face me one on one, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

*

He proceeds to celebrate with his new belt then grabs a mic*

Andrews: Let's get something clear, Rocky boy, I didn't pin you because I had the chance to win, not anything else. I mean what do you expect me to do? Pass on a chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion just because you were busy being out of the ring? You want me to wait until you get back on your feet and beat you?

I pinned RDJ because he was in the middle of the ring, on his back, after taking an Ace To The Face (Superkick). Tell me you wouldn't have done the same.

Golden: I wouldn't, and you know it. I would get the champ into the ring and plant him with a Rocky Road (Pop Up Spinebuster) and pin him.

But that doesn't matter right now, you know why you're out here, apparently you decided to stand your ground for once and fight me like a ma-

Andrews: Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, who said I accepted your challenge? I came out here because I saw a FORMER champion try to tell ME when and where to defend MY title.

You want a rematch? No problem, but you'll have to wait till Malice.

*Andrews leaves the ring and we cut to commercials*

Segment Rating: 97, Andrews changed his gimmick to Underappreaciated which got a Very Good rating.

*Back from commercials, Jeremie Courtney is in the ring when Mighty Mo comes out

A quick squash match, Mighty Mo win in 5:27 with a Big Splash.

Match Rating: 56

Backstage, Shawn Doakes is interviewing Darryl Devine:

Doakes: Mister Devine, you have a title match coming up against Marc Speed, can you tell us how do you prepare yourself for a fighter so dynamic like Speed?

Devine: Dynamic? I don't think so. You gotta find your opponent's weakness and exploit it as much as you can. As for Speed, I think I know his.

Doakes: Well there you have it, exploit your opponent's weakness is the way to go, back to you, Jason

Segment Rating: 67

*Marc Speed Enters The Ring*

Darryl Devine vs Marc Speed:

An open match all the way from the start, no one able to gain the upper hand when suddenly Joel Bryant runs in and attacks Devine!

The referee calls for the bell and Devine is the winner by DQ which means Speed keeps his title.

Match Rating: 66

However, Marc Speed isn't happy and all three men end up brawling as we hear there's a fight going backstage!

It's Joshua Taylor and Wolf Hawkins! they brawl throughout the locker room when an unsuspecting Jay Chord gets hits by Taylor, which gives Hawkins the upper hand as we go for another break

Segment Rating: 87

We come back and see The New Wave and The Elite in the ring ready for a match!

Guide&Scout vs Chandler&Johnson:

Scout and Chandler are the legal men and The New Wave are on the offensive for most of the match showing great tag team psychology and Johnson can't even get into the match before The New Wave win with Wave Of Mutilation in 12 minutes.

Match Rating: 78 (OOC - WHAT?!?!?!)

While The New Wave are celebrating, two figures jump from the crowd and attack them!

It's Edd Stone! And Freddy Huggins! But why would they do that?

*We cut to commercials again*

Segment Rating: 70

*We come back with Chance Fortune already in the ring

A surprisingly open match with Andrews having a slight advantage all the way through but Fortune just wouldn't lay down for the 3.

Finally Andrews is setting up an Ace To The Face and hits it,

1, 2, 3. Andrews wins.

Match Rating: 77

After the match we see a weird vignette on the titantron with symbols and images of Andrews and Golden, followed by a red text saying:

RDJ vs Bryan Vessey:

Azaria: What a main event we have here tonight, it's RDJ going up against Bryan Vessey, Rhodes, who do you think will win this one?

Rhodes: I geniuenly have no clue, Jason, these two know each other very well.

Azaria: and both men are TCW veterans with multiple achievements to their name.

Rhodes: Definently so, RDJ is a 3 Time World Heavyweight and International Champion, and Vessey, while being only a one time World Heavyweight and International Champion, is also a six time Tag Team Champion with his long time partner and brother, Larry Vessey.

Azaria: Well let's get this thing going, Live! on USA Sports 1!

Rhodes: They will have to bring their A game if they want to defeat the other man, it will not be easy Jason.

An even match, starting nice and slow with a bit of chain wrestling and lock ups, Vessey is the first to land some serious offense with a Suplex and some submission holds but RDJ finds his way to the ropes. Vessey keeps the upper hand and attempts a Vessey Plex but RDJ counters it and lands him with a spinning clothesline but it's only enough for a 2 count. RDJ is setting up for Southern Justice (Jackknife Powerbomb) but just as Vessey gets up to his feet, we hear

Match Rating: 82

Buffalo and Vessey are beating RDJ up, when we hear

Azaria: IT'S SAMMY BACH! SAMMY BACH IS BACK!

Rhodes: OH MY GOD!

Azaria: He was out of action for over a month because of Bryan Vessey!

Rhodes: Is he holding a guitar?

Azaria: He is! HE HITS VESSEY WITH IT! Buffalo too!

Rhodes: What a sight to be hold Jason! This is crazy!

Segment Rating: 88
