Just STAND UP, Dammit!

Recommended Posts

First off, fantastic game and another huge improvement to the series. However, i just noticed one major problem left over that drove me nuts in WMMA4. A great striker with a weak (or significantly weaker) ground game knocks his opponent down, the opponent survives the initial barrage of ground strikes, and then the striker spends the rest of the round flailing helplessly on the ground instead of JUST STANDING UP and forcing the fight back to where he has the advantage. This is totally unrealistic and causes strikers to give away fights that they could have easily won if they'd JUST STAND UP (it can also totally trash the match rating between two strikers, although it's maybe a little more realistic in that case).

I know this is probably too big a change to make this late, but please do address it if at all possible, as far as i've seen it's the only serious flaw left in the fight engine.

If you add the attribute "Hate To Roll" for him, he will do exactly that, I always hated this as well and in my new save I did this to do a test with Sammy Gaffigan and I was amazed to see him knocking down Li Kong Ho and, after not getting the KO, getting back up instantly.

So the basic code does already exist in the fight engine? Maybe Adam could make fighters without the attribute to do it when they're badly outclassed on the ground. Still probably too big a change post-release, but at least i have a workaround now (and a LOT of editing to do, that attribute should be pretty much universal to all specialist strikers). Anyway, thanks for the tip!
