In a squash match, Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated Quinn Nash in 1:33 by submission with a Code Red.

Barry Houston vs. Paul Orndorff w/ Toni

Toni is carrying a mirror to the ring so "Mr. Wonderful" can watch himself as he makes his entrance.

Paul Orndorff is very heelish in his way, and played-up his superior physique bullying his opponent around.

Orndorff received several chants of "Paula" from the crowd.

Barry Houston was really good selling in this squash match; flying around and getting one hell of a beating. Orndorff hit a pretty nasty looking Vertical Suplex into the turnbuckles, but...

"Mr. Wonderful" took too long posing and Houston almost Rolled Him up.

Orndorff grows frustrated so he beats the shit out of him and ends it with the Piledriver.

In an squash match, Paul Orndorff defeated Barry Houston in 5:11 by pinfall with a Spike Piledriver.

It's The Booty Man, and the subject of his infatuation is, for some reason, his own ass, which he shakes around.

The Booty Man wants a match with Orndorff to get a chance for a date with Toni. "The Original Assman" tell Orndorff and Commissioner Bockwinkel that he is willing to put his career on the line.

Both wrestlers agree to a match and Bockwinkel informs the fans that the match will take place at The Great American Bash and have a special Retirement vs. Valet Stipulation.

If Paul Orndorff wins, The Booty Man is forced to leave WCW, but if The Booty Man wins, he gets a date with Toni.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, "The Face of Terror" Meng defeated Rick Martel in 8:54 by submission with a Tongan Death Grip after we had "Lord" Steven Regal distract Rick Martel. Meng wins the WCW World Television title.

He makes a great unpredictable champion who could keep the title either by Deathgrip or just by beating the crap out of the opponent until they can't continue. I look for him to have a nice long reign and then lose it to someone who you really have plans for a serious push for.

WWF had a "team meeting" at Titan Towers this week, which was basically a pep rally. The idea is to remove the barriers between "office" and "talent" and the wrestlers were shown a video of what different departments like marketing, TV production, etc. do on a daily basis. Vince McMahon gave everyone an update on the company's financial situation, acknowledging that the company lost money last year, but that he believes business is at the beginning of an upswing.

Vince McMahon also told people that the In Your House buyrates during 1995 has been above 1.0, but independent estimates show the average is around 0.71 which would make it the lowest buyrates ever for WWF and a huge fiasco.

In a shock move, UWA last night ended the contract of Cibernetico. The talented up-and-coming luchadore has been unable to be reached for a comment, but is likely going to focus on his career in Extreme Championship Wrestling.

During the WWF "team meeting" at Titan Towers, J.J. Dillon was tasked with informing the wrestlers of a new drug policy that, will be the strictest in any sport or entertainment company. Vince McMahon didn't want to be the one to deliver the news that would piss everyone off and instead passed it on to Dillon. One big change is that marijuana has been reclassified and is now treated the same as steroids or cocaine, meaning a positive test would result in the same 3-strike punishments as the others (6-week suspension, 6-week suspension + rehab, and finally termination). They've also made big changes to cracking down on prescription drugs. A violation for any drug without a prescription is a violation.

WCW's Slamboree PPV took place and was another excellent show. The WCW Hall of Fame inductions were handled in a very classy and respectful way. During Vader's and Randy Savage's entrance, The Warrior was shown briefly, to build up to the inevitable feud with Vader and he came out again later after the match.

Gordon Solie was upset about some of the people being inducted into WCW's Hall of Fame and quit the promotion the week before Slamboree, but was talked into returning. Several experts implies that Angelo Poffo is the source of the controversy and that a lot of people felt Poffo wasn't deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame and was only brought in to participate in the Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair angle at the end of the show.

Rob Van Dam recently turned down a major movie role in a movie called Superfights, because filming would have conflicted with his current All Japan tour that he had already committed to. Van Dam was offered the starring role, but is rumoured to end up having a minor role in the movie instead.

There are rumors that WCW is planning to do a 1-hour Iron Man Match between Cruiserweight duo Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko at some point.

There are a lot of rumors going around about the ownership of ECW. Tod Gordon hasn't attended any of the recent shows and it's believed Paul Heyman may be planning to buy out Gordon's majority percentage and take over the promotion himself.

Hulk Hogan appeared at the NBA playoff game between the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls last week, due to being friends with Shaquille O'Neal. Announcer Doug Collins spoke about Hogan being there and made a bunch of negative remarks about the NBA turning into the WWF, until someone corrected him that Hogan was with WCW.

The planned K-1/WCW PPV wants to have WCW wrestler Craig Pittman face UFC star Dan Severn, but part of Severn's UFC contract is that he can't participate in shootfights for another promotion so that's unlikely to happen.

NWA New England is pushing the Bob Backlund for President angle hard, trying to get mainstream publicity from it and going so far as to try and legitimately get him on the ballot in New Hampshire.

Former American footballer Lawrence Taylor has split with his long-time agent, mainly over disagreements stemming from WrestleMania. Taylor's agent was quoted in the news before WrestleMania saying he didn't want Taylor to do it.

The Nasty Boys begain their second reign as XWF Tag Team champions, when they took the titles away from Greg Valentine and Ed Leslie at the XWF Memorial Day Classic.

Ulf Herman received a WWF tryout as Herman the German in a dark match at the WWF Monday Night Raw tapings.

Jim Neidhart's cousin Jason Anderson also received a WWF dark match tryout, at the latest WWF Monday Night Raw tapings.

In sad news, the wrestling world lost another family member last night when it was announced that Les Thornton had passed away. Tributes from friends and colleagues have poured in all day. During his career, he was considered one of the best junior heavyweights in the world at one time simultaneously holding both the WWF and NWA World Junior Heavyweight titles, and would holf the NWA titles five times.

NJPW sign Japanese Junior Masao Orihara, as they continue to bolster their roster. Orihara is better known as masked ninja character Iga in CMLL and as Sasuke the Great, a The Great Sasuke copycat in Michinoku Pro Wrestling.

Tag team specialist Wayne Bloom signs for ECW. It is understood that the former AWA, WCW and WWF wrestler was one of the major targets for the promotion, although it is not clear if any other signings are planned.

Former WCW wrestler Mark Hildreth (Van Hammer) ended weeks of rumours last night, as a press release on the ECW website revealed that he had signed a contract with them.

Shane Douglas making enemies! A bitter rivalry between Shane Douglas and The Dirty White Boy has apparently sprung up recently, with the two no longer even being on speaking terms. Insiders say that money has played some part in the argument between the two, although it is not yet confirmed exactly what the issue that sparked this conflict actually was.

Honky Tonk Man and Billy Black are apparently "at war" according to inside sources, with a bitter hatred developing between the two. It is said that it is simply a clash of egos, and some have said that this battle can only end with one taking a major fall from grace.

The Fantastics gone from WCW! In a short statement on their website, WCW last night revealed that they had parted ways with Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers after their contract had expired. It looks like The Fantastics will continue their career in NWA Smokey Mountain Wrestling and The American Wrestling Federation.

New pictures have emerged showing that WWF star Davey Boy Smith has been working extremely hard in the gym. Boasting an incredible new physique, the 32 year old is said to be sure that his increased muscularity will have a positive impact on his career. The British wrestler is rumoured to be considered for a major push to cement him as a main eventer.

Erik Watts and former WCW Power Plant trainee Chad Fortune debuted on WWF TV as Tekno Team 2000 and dressed like they came out of the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Wearing "futuristic" silver and maroon ring outfits, they debuted in the WWF as a babyface tag team that is "ahead of its time". As part of the "New Generation" of the WWF, they are said to be "determined to bring the New Generation into the 21st Century".

ECW star tag team The Public Enemy received a tryout with the WWF, wrestling a dark match against former WWF Tag-Team Champions The Smokin' Gunns.

WWF has struck a deal with NBC to air a one-hour special this week, showing the top 2 matches from the most recent WrestleMania, airing in prime time after Game 7 of the Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic NBA Playoffs game. It'll be the first WWF special on NBC since Saturday Night's Main Event was canned in 1991 due to low ratings.

Two of the biggest names in Japanese wrestling, Kensuke Sasaki and Akira Hokuto, were engaged this week and the story made major headlines in Japan, dwarfing all other sporting news in the country.

New Japan superstar Hiroshi Hase made a surprise announcement that he plans to retire to run for the House of Councilors in next month's election. The position would be similar to the office that Antonio Inoki currently holds, and Inoki is up for re-election next month.

Both WWF and WCW have been operating several million dollars in the red for the last few years, but the rise of the Pay-Per-View business has basically kept the companies afloat financially.

WWF is claiming In Your House did a 1.0 buyrate. Other independent sources are saying 0.67. Either way, that's on the low end of what WWF usually averages and considering the price was about 40% cheaper than usual PPVs, it's hard to really call it a success. WCW is claiming Slamboree did an 1.0 but other sources are saying 0.77. Either way, so far, the monthly PPV competition isn't off to a booming start for either company.

WWF's next PPV is King of the Ring, which is expected to be the Shawn Michaels show and it's expected Shawn will win the tournament.

Diesel underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow and is expected to be out for a few weeks, which means he will miss King of the Ring.

Manny Guzman, the head of the wrestler's union in Mexico, is under investigation for embezzling $300,000. There's talk that AAA president Antonio Pena will be offered the position of leading the union, which would give him a lot of political power as far as having access to more arenas in Mexico and help AAA in their battles against CMLL and UWA.

Dan Severn was offered $15,000 by NJPW to put over Keiji Muto in an match.

Jacques Rougeau has announced the formation of his own promotion and is running a show next month and plans to run 40 more shows throughout this year in Quebec. Rougeau's brother and sister promote shows for WWF in the area, which has been the source of a nasty family feud between them.

WCW's Bash at the Beach PPV is taking place live at Huntington Beach. WCW is expecting a crowd of more than 100,000 for the show.

Bret Hart is expected to film 5 more episodes of the Lonesome Dove TV show next season.

AP ran a story on Bob Holly saying that Vince McMahon put up $200,000 for the WWF racing team, with Holly as the driver.

WWF and The Rock 'n' Roll Express have parted company after losing the Losers Leaves WWF Match against The Headbangers at WWF In Your House.

FMW saw a title change, as Vampiro, Mr. Gannosuke and Headhunter A lost the FMW Six Man Street Fight Tag Team titles to Leatherface, Horace Boulder and Hellraiser at the FMW Betrayed Tour.

Halloween began his first reign as FMW Independent World Jr. Heavyweight champion, when he took the title away from Taka Michinoku at the FMW Betrayed Tour.

Last chance for IWF? It appears that the International Wrestling Federation promotion is about to take a final bow, as the troubled organisation is said to be in massive, unbeatable debt. The top stars (Chris Candido, John Kronus and Johnny Grunge) have reportedly already been told that they should start looking for work, as IWF will not be able to provide them with further work after their final show this month.

Brian Pillman has been cleared of any wrongdoing. Pillman was earlier arrested on drug possession charges after police spot him engaging in suspicious behavior in a seedy part of Atlanta while searching for his estranged girlfriend. Brian Pillman appeared on a radio show yesterday, and took some shots at Steve Austin, Eric Bischoff and WCW throughout.

Tag team specialist Wayne Bloom has signed for ECW. For much of his career, he has teamed with Mike Enos as The Destruction Crew.

The CMLL World Heavyweight title changed hands, as El Gran Markus Jr. Became the new champion, ending the reign of Brazo de Plata after nine title defences at CMLL Super Viernes. This is the second time El Gran Marcus Jr. has won the CMLL World Heavyweight title.

The World Wrestling Peace Festival was held last night in Gilbert Sports Center, and drew 2,006 fans to support a good cause with most of the proceeds going to charity. In the match of the night Ron Simmons and Sting defeated Jinsei Shinzaki and Ric Flair. In some other memorable matches Big Bubba (Fred Ottman) defeated Pat Tanaka, while Silver King defeated Dean Malenko.

Former NWA World Heavyweight champion "Crippler" Chris Curtis has chosen to relocate and now resides in Kanto (Japan). He holds black belts in various martial arts and is currently touring with shoot style promotion Pro Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi.

As expected Lance Russell officially completed his retirement from pro wrestling. He has primarily serving as a announcer and commentator in the Memphis region since 1959.

Bischoff also said that WCW wrestler Craig Pittman could beat Dan Severn.

Yuji Yasuraoka began his second reign as British Commonwealth Jr. Heavyweight champion, when he won the match versus newcomer Christopher Daniels at a Michinoku Pro Wrestling Dream Tour event to decide a worthy champion for the vacant title after the previous champion Jushin Thunder Liger decided to focus on his commitments with World Championship Wrestling and New Japan.

Gene Okerlund reported his WCW hotline that WWF's prime-time NBC special was abruptly cancelled this week. The sources are saying that someone higher up at NBC was on vacation when the decision was made to air a WWF show and when he came back from vacation and found out about it, he nixed it.

Guerrero Maya begain his first reign as Mexican National Heavyweight champion, when he took the title away from Brazo de Platino at CMLL Domingos Arena Mexico. Brazo de Platino managed four successful title defences prior to this defeat.

WCW sent Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart to the NBA playoff games in Orlando and they were courtside and acknowledged during the game and Hogan even did his shirt-ripping routine during a commercial break for the crowd. So, WCW ended up getting a lot of mainstream network publicity.

Monday Night Raw continues to get high, sometimes record-setting ratings, but can't seem to translate those ratings into more PPV buys. People will watch it free on TV, but they won't pay for it.

The engagement of Kensuke Sasaki and Akira Hokuto continued to be major celebrity news in Japan. A press conference was held to officially announce the engagement. Sasaki gave Hokuto an engagement ring said to be worth $125,000. In All Japan Women, women traditionally retire after getting married, but Hokuto has said she plans to continue wrestling.

Hiroshi Hase also held a press conference to officially announce his candidacy for the House of Councilors in Japan. His wrestling career is currently on hold and if he wins the 6-year term, it's likely that his career as a full-time performer is over.

Don "Ripper Savage" Ross died suddenly of a heart attack last week at age 48. Ross was a heavy steroid user back before steroids were really a thing in wrestling, along with his friend and mentor Superstar Billy Graham. He got involved in the bodybuilding scene after leaving wrestling and is a big name in that industry. He was a vocal advocate for steroids and defended people using them.

Several wrestling experts is predicting Shawn Michaels vs. Yokozuna in the King of the Ring finals, with Shawn likely winning, but Yokozuna is a possibility because WWF is so weak on the heel side that they may be giving him a renewed singles push.

FMW wrestler Vampiro made his debut as an amateur boxer this week and lost in the 2nd round against a college boxer when his corner threw in the towel. Vampiro has been criticized for making pro wrestling look bad, because many say it makes all wrestlers look bad when a wrestler gets his ass handed to him by a college kid.

On SMW TV, they had a skit where Buddy Landell was hanging out in an expensive hotel suite when he got a phone call supposedly from Baywatch star Pamela Anderson saying she wanted to hook up with Landell because Diesel was having male problems.

Latest news on the ownership of ECW. A company called HHG Corp, which is owned by Paul Heyman, is now signing the checks and the company is currently looking for investors. Heyman has said that ECW has paid off 90% of its debts and that the rumors of heat between he and Tod Gordon have been exaggerated.

IWCCW and MEWF has started trying to tone down the "cartoonish" gimmick of the Tazmaniac character and play up his recent credentials in Japan as an amateur wrestler and legitimate shootfighter.

The Sheik is still hospitalized in Tokyo after his heart attack last month and also can't walk due to nerve damage in his leg from the match he was in the day before his heart attack.

Rickson Gracie did an interview and said he had been offered a lot of money to face Nobuhiko Takada in UWFI, but he turned it down because he would never fight in any organization that isn't 100% legitimate. Since UWFI's top matches are usually works designed to look like shoots, Gracie doesn't want to do it. He said if Takada wanted to come face him in a legit promotion, he'd be glad to do it.

K-1 and WCW have a tentative shoot fighting PPV scheduled for September called “Mortal Challenge”. WCW is still trying to sign Dan Severn to face Sgt. Craig Pittman at the PPV.

Brian Pillman is involved in a very nasty custody battle with an ex-girlfriend over his 4-year-old daughter that led to his arrest this week. The ex-girlfriend failed to show up to pick up their daughter and missed a meeting with the custody rep and had been missing for several days. So Pillman went driving around some bad neighborhoods in Atlanta where she was known to hang out, showing pictures of her and trying to find her. Police saw Pillman mingling in the neighborhood and pulled him over. They didn't believe his story about trying to find his ex-girlfriend, so they searched his car and found one pill, a prescription anti-inflammatory for back problems that wasn't in a labeled pill bottle, and arrested him. They also asked him to take a Breathalyzer, which he refused, and was charged with DUI. The news hit the media, since Pillman is a former Bengals player and WCW star and there was even footage of Pillman being taken into the police station in handcuffs. Pillman plead not guilty and volunteered to take a drug test to clear his name. The test came out clean and he had a prescription for the pill. But the DUI charge still stands because refusing a Breathalyzer test is an automatic charge. Meanwhile, an APB was put out on his missing ex-girlfriend, which further confirmed Pillman's original story. She was finally found the next day in Florida after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

Tekno Team 2000 (Erik Watts and Chad Fortune) debuted in WWF and blew many spots in a awful match against Double Trouble. On commentary, Jim Ross still verbally praised them about their football backgrounds.

ECWA and IWCCW champion Shane Douglas was backstage at the latest Raw taping and they may bring him in.

WWF superstar Bret Hart talked in a newspaper about his acting in Lonesome Dove and says he has turned down action movies in the past because they wanted him to play a dumb tough guy. "I wanted to avoid that. And I haven't wanted to follow in Hulk Hogan's footsteps in the sense I never wanted to do some really lame movies just to make some money. I actually wanted to do it on a real serious level and show I'm not stupid."

Gerald Brisco was interviewed in a Tampa newspaper and said WWF is considering starting its own training center in Florida.

On a split video screen, we see the fiery "Macho Man" Randy Savage flipping out in the locker room, while Angelo Poffo, Sting, The Warrior, Roddy Piper and The Steiner Brothers are trying to calm him down and hold him back.

Anderson says that the WCW United States champion Ric Flair is taking his time and is perfectly fine.

"Double A" keeps egging him on from the set, daring him to come out and make a move, and Savage starts destroying the locker room.

Arn says Savage always wears yellow so he can hide what happens when he thinks about what The Four Horsemen would do to him!

He continues to call out Savage and dare him to make a move.

Backstage, Savage continues to try to get out but Sting is holding him back.

Savage appears to have broken free, but we go to commercial.

The Lightning Express make defence number 1 of their WCW United States Tag Team titles.

He shoved Bischoff aside and roughed up Commissioner Bockwinkel.
