Great job btw.

Tried to download the file in the OP, only had body pictures in there. Am I missing something? Unpacked the RAR in a new folder I created outside of the WMMA5 file. Do I need to unpack the file in WMMA5 file? What if I want to keep a copy of the database I have (renders included)?

Great job as always on the renders!

I'm playing the db right now but I'm not having as much fun as I should have. The problem (imo) is that the new "soulless" characters (because they lack a profile) debut way too soon and are beating up the top characters from the default db. So by the time I arrived at 2002 the gameworld doesn't look even close to the actual state. I realize that's not the intent of the db, but it's kind of a pity. I'd say it's better if they would debut later on.

The era settings are also rather untouched and populated characters join right in with god-tier stats. I should've changed it, but I assumed it would be worked on. Want you want is a bunch of cans to give wins to the main characters, not to beat them into unemployment.

If anything, the default characters I find are mauling the new fighters being added bar the odd exception. The default characters are still by and large superior to those that start at the beginning of the mod.

I do suggest that the only characters being added to the world should be re-gens of those retiring. If you follow that set up, you shouldn't be receiving the results you are mentioning.

In my save which is just getting into 1996, the top fighter in each division is as follows (excluding women's/bantam/fly as these start picking up later on):

Super Heavy: Palmer Lette

Heavyweight: Hassan Fezzik

Light Heavy: Zvonimir Asanovic

Middleweight: Matthew Dean

Welterweight: Julio Reguerio

Lightweight: Sean Morrison

Featherweight: Lars Bohlin

Every one of those fighters is a default database guy.

As you said, even if that weren't the case, my intention wasn't to just import a ton of cans for the default guys to beat up on. I wanted some form of variety which I have seen in my saves.

Each to their own I guess.

So by the time I arrived at 2002 the gameworld doesn't look even close to the actual state.

Want you want is a bunch of cans to give wins to the main characters, not to beat them into unemployment.

Wouldn't that be boring though? Isn't the whole reason for a database like this to effect the outcome so it's unpredictable?

This does not apply to company rankings.

Don't forget that as a modder you gave little control over who turns into a beast as long as thet have 60+ or so in main stats. And they are in fact demolishing the stars. As a player of GAMMA or ALPHA, you have control over who you sign so its easier to manioulate the rankings.

As the characters get rendered, they are as much of a personality as the guys and girls found in the default database.

If the intent was to just add a load of cans for the default characters to beat up on, it wouldn't make for much of a mod in my opinion as the game has the function of generating a load of shmucks for this very purpose.

For the most part it preserves the original universe.

I've tried to complete, fix, and improve the default database. The event history, fighter records, fight history, you name it. I'm essentially trying to make the cleanest version possible while preserving the unique "story" of the game.

Complete - I could write a few essays on this but to just simplify it and narrow it down, the default database is missing a lot of information. Event numbers and information, fight history, a lot is missing. It would take too long to explain everything I am doing to complete the default database, basically filling in all the holes and then some.

Fix - errors, typos, anything that I found that was incorrect. From spelling in the fighter profile to event history. Sometimes employment history was off, or company HOF records didn't match fighters company record from the fighter profile. Hell, I think WEFF is missing an entire event that I had to add.

Improve - There's a variety of things, mostly expanding and completing the default database while maintaining the original integrity of the game (without the clean sweep). Adding narratives but not going overboard. Editing the free pictures and their perimeters. Adding all fighter packs, renders, names, etc.

Cons - If you start much earlier than 2002 the database could be a little depleted. The game has been re-engineered for longevity.

I have the same concept as the global-verse; a bigger, better, longer game. Except I don't want a total wipe. I intend on keeping the original database intact and completing it, all the while expanding the game with most of the new characters debuting between 2002 and beyond (haven't got around to characters debuting past 2016 yet) but there's only 1779 Characters including the GDS community's "5 packs" and BW addition --- sorry can't remember the creator.

Only adding fighters with static profiles because I feel organic profiles are designed for when you "populate" fighters into your game (assuming you turn off auto-populate fighters at start of game and populate fighters manually when they are needed/wanted at)

I would love to add all the fighters with renders to it. London and company's renders and characters kick-ass. Trying to expand the original game. That's why I'm here lol.

I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the unpredictable game unfold. I haven't even joined the game yet. I like seeing some of the default guys succeed (and fail), while seeing which new fighters sneak out into the pack. In my game, I haven't even seen GAMMA or ALPHA show up, so there is no American or Japanese company, and thus both areas are losing fighters to other regions. That's awesome to me. There's no 'soul-less' fighters for me, because everyone has an organic bio. Even the people who aren't rendered, if they are good then I have plenty of unassigned renders to give them.

The top five P4P in my game, towards the end of 1993, is:

1. Hassan Fezzik

2. Jim Carpenter

3. Faas Smit

4. Benson Lomas

5. Fernando Amaro
