Vibert's Voice: Watching the Wrestling World Go By

The truth is, I temporarily fell out of love with wrestling. It is well documented that my time with the DeColts over at Canadian Golden Combat did not end positively, so I took a hiatus before eventually starting up Vibert’s Voice, the number one wrestling podcast in the world. It has been enjoyable talking about wrestling again and yes, at times, I have considered becoming active within the world of wrestling once more. However, I didn’t just want to make my way to another company and bicker with higher ups over our booking decisions or sit at an announcing booth and pretend like I care for every wrester, talented or otherwise, that enters the squared circle. Being a manager was a possibility, but there would be no certainty that I would enjoy the workers that I am paired with, or if any of them deserve the potential stardom that I would afford them. Owning and booking DAVE was fun, but that happened and that ended, and I just don’t think I have it in me to run another company, at least not yet. So, my options are slim and my, admittedly, fussy, over-analytical ways are narrowing my options. What could I do? Well, I watch, and at the very least keep up with, as many wrestling promotions as I can in the world and it is safe to say, I have a lot of opinions. Therefore, I have decided that I shall modify Vibert’s Voice. Every week I shall update you all on the happenings in the wacky world of wrestling, share my thoughts and opinions on the decisions made by each company and wrestler, and hopefully offer some insight into this wonderful industry that we love and hate. Welcome, to Vibert’s Voice: Watching the Wrestling World Go By.

OC speaking: So, just so it is more clear, this was a brief overview to set up a watcher game. It's been done before of course, but I intend to just sit by, watch the wrestling world play out and report on what is happening. I will say, I need to work on bringing the character out of Vibert into these reports, as I have already written 3 months worth of the game and I am not sure if I have done a good job of it or not.

Please, if anyone has any tips on how to input more of Vibert's character, advise on the diary as a whole or if you just want to let me know what kind of things you would personally like to see included in this, please let me know and I will see what I can do!

Unsurprisingly this was the best match of the night and Champion put in the best performance, not that USPW really care about their actual wrestling being too good. Earlier in the show, Trent Shaffer successfully retained his National title over Joss Thompson but one of the biggest moments of the night saw D.C. Rayne defeat Danny Rushmore, which itself isn’t too big but Rayne turning heel was. This happened when he used heel tactics to win the match against the face Rushmore. Good luck to the guy, him and his friend Eddie Howard are a solid duo. </p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Two storylines going forward have been heavily rumoured for USPW. The first sees Champion Steve Frehley and Tyson Baine face off with James Justice and Enygma. The second has Champion Force, the team of Nicky Champion and The Force, face Rich Money and T-Rex. On the same day, though, USPW also announced two new signings on written deals. First, NYCW Empire Champion Roger Cage and then young PSW worker Nelson Callum. Cage is a very solid hand who can provide both experience and good in-ring work whilst Callum is only 27-years old and a proficient technical wrestler and brawler.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SWF</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Wo5VYiS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Wo5VYiS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - There is no denying the popularity of Jack Bruce. He is one of the most well-known and beloved stars in the history of professional wrestling. He is showing signs of his age but there is no doubt that his name will aid SWF in their war against TCW and the rising USPW. Leaks from SWF have reported that they plan to start up a long-term feud between Bruce and the ex-Lobster Warrior, The Crippler. This is a feud that they are revisiting from the past as The Crippler turned heel to provide opposition for Bruce, but it could be good business for SWF if they can book these two aging veterans right.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Another feud that SWF are aiming to book is between two ex-DAVE standouts, Brandon James (Big Cat Brandon) and Skull DeBones (Vengeance). Both men are ex-champions in both DAVE and SWF and can provide a very interesting, very menacing feud going forward.</span></p><p> </p><p> - Someone needs to watch for insiders in SWF apparently as it is also known that Angry Gilmore Vs Rogue is another feud they are looking at. No doubt, this will probably be the most well wrestled feud of the three. Something that will make a lot of fans who pay attention to wrestler’s personal lives sad is the fact that Gilmore and his, now ex-wife, Jessie have officially announced their divorce. Let’s hope they don’t play this into the feud.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- If there was ever a wrestler that was bound to make it in either SWF or USPW, it might be Primus Allen. This is relevant as SWF have found it fit to call him up, feeling his size will be valuable on the roster as he develops further. Allen is the only man who has won RIPW’s main belt three times. On top of this SWF have also called up manager and personality Emmy. She may have been called up with the intentions of managing Primus, but that is not yet known.</span></p><p> </p><p> - SWF’s first Supreme TV show of the year was headlined by Eric Eisen defeating Angry Gilmore by DQ in the match of the night, with Gilmore unsurprisingly giving the best performance of anyone all night, proving that he is the peak professional, not letting his divorce affect him. Though, rumours of the Gilmore/Rogue feud seem a little off now as they didn’t interact all night, and more was done to start a feud between the two men in the main event then with Gilmore and Rogue. The opening match of the show did see Joey Morgan retain the North American title against John Greed.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">TCW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="06lE9cI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/06lE9cI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Apparently TCW are looking at splitting up Freddy Huggins and Edd Stone, The Canadian Animals, sometime in the future. I’m not sure what plans they have in place for the two, but I’m sure it’ll become clear in the next few weeks.</span></p><p> </p><p> - There wasn’t too much to say about TCW’s first Total Wrestling show. Not to say it wasn’t good but it did peak half way through when star Wolf Hawkins put in the best performance of the night in his win over Chance Fortune. We shouldn’t take anything away from Fortune though as he performance was brilliant too and the match overall was fantastic. I personally gave it an A rating. The main event saw Joshua Taylor defeat current champion Aaron Andrews in another very good match, which could potentially mean Taylor gets a shot at Andrews.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">21CW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="xwOoE7A.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xwOoE7A.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Before their first show of the year, the promising 21CW promotion had news leaked of the storylines they are looking to build. First, champion Edward Cornell and Buff Martinez are expected to feud against Adam Matravers and the legendary Dark Angel. Likely best wrestler in the world, Tommy Cornell, will feud with Kevin Jones and finally Jonathan Faust and DJ Reason will go head-to-head.</span></p><p> </p><p> - 21CW’s first Best Of British Wrestling show of the year received good feedback. Early in the night Sebastian Koller retained his United Kingdom title over BW Eddie. The best match of the night followed that as standout performer Adam Matravers beat Yuri Iliakov. The main event saw Danny Patterson, rising star Bedlam and Igor Ivanoff defeat Crouching Storm, Hidden Sifu (Sifu and Ricky Storm) and Harry Wilson.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- On Friday of Week One, 21CW announced the signing of 29-year old Nate Manchester on a written contract. Manchester had previously spent 8 years with the company between 2007 and 2015, including being a Tag Team champion alongside Leo Price. 21CW were looking to bulk up their roster to appropriate what their continued rise in the wrestling industry.</span></p><p> </p><p> The day after, 21CW announced two more written signings in Landon Mallory and Glen Ward. Mallory is just 27 years old and has been working as a main eventer, their current European champion, for VWA whilst 31-year old Glen Ward was unemployed but is a solid all-around talent who has a background in judo. Finally, on Sunday, 21CW confirmed the signing of 33-year old Petey Barnes on a written deal. Barnes has been working for EWA and is one half of the EWA Tag Team champions with Eric Future. </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SOTBPW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="McdMXcM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/McdMXcM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Not much to say about SOTBPW’s first Television show of the year outside of the fact that it was received positively and Axxis Jr was the standout performer after his win over Star Master, the match of the night. The main event saw Campeon Jr, Ultimate Phoenix and Electrico defeat Cerebro, Heavy Metal Anarchy and El Alborotador Confiado. On a side note, SOTBPW star Angel Of Mercy has been determined someone to watch in the wrestling world, though he did not perform on this show.</span></p><p> </p><p> - SOTBPW held their second TV show of the week, Lucha Libre, on Friday and it was highlighted by two fantastic matches. Half way through the night, Champagne Lover, one of the best wrestlers in the world and the star of the night, defeated midcarder Labbu in an A-rated match whilst in the main event there was another A-rated match between two tag teams as Red Scourge, Blood Raven and Pirata Malvado, beat The Golden Kings, Pharoah King and Multimillonario, by DQ.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">BHOTWG</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="6lJD741.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6lJD741.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- BHOTWG hosted their first Lords Of The Ring show of the year, with Ieyoshi Shimakage, Tatsuya Toshitara and Matthew Keith defeating Hirokumi Saito, Java and Sanetomo Shiraishi in a fairly average main event. Elemental III was the best wrestler on the show, defeating Hyosuke Kokan in the midcard.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">PGHW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="DqmXy7k.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DqmXy7k.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - PGHW held the first show of their fresh Ravenous Tour on the first Monday of the year, with Masaru Ugaki defeating Kozue Kawashima, the standout of the show, in an incredible A-rated (my personal ratings) match. Elsewhere on the show Simon Flemmingway defended his International title against Ryoma Muruyama and SATO beat Art Reed to defend his Historical Japan title.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- The second night of the Ravenous Tour was headlined by Ryomo Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki defeating Raymond Diaz and Seiji Jimbo in a solid tag team match. The match of the night saw Akinori Kwakami defeat Tetsunori Yasuda.</span></p><p> </p><p> - I will never not be impressed by those guys who wrestle tours in Japan 3 days a week but PGHW’s Ravenous Tour continued on Wednesday. Ryomo Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki beat KitoGuchi, Chojiro Kitoaji and Bussho Makiguchi, in the match of the night in the co-main with Ugaki again putting on a great performance, stealing the show in this first week of the tour. Williams Hayes and Tsurayaki Kamachi look to be teaming more frequently as The Modern Dragons after their win earlier in the night. The main event saw a rematch from night two, with Akinori Kwakami again defeating Tetsunori Yasuda, odd decision but a good match.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- PGHW’s final tour date of the week, on Saturday, consisted of more solid wrestling but it was the main event which saw Glory Crown Champion Yoshimi Mushashibo and Eisaku Kunomasu team up to be Ryoma Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki in an A-rated match, with Mushashibo putting in the best performance.</span></p><p> </p><p> - On the same day as their final tour date of the week, PGHW announced the signing of Monzaemon Ouchi on a written deal. He is an announcer who will provide commentary on occasion.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">NOTBPW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="erpO3ol.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/erpO3ol.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- NOTBPW might put on some of the best pure wrestling shows in the world and their first Championship Wrestling show of the year proved it. They had not one, but two matches that I thought deserved an A rating. First, in the co-main event, Sean McFly beat Steve DeColt in a fantastic match which ended by count out, though DeColt probably had the best individual performance of the night. In the main event Duane Stone and Johnny Bloodstone looked to top the last match, perhaps doing so with Stone coming out on top.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">USA</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wa2vtDW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wa2vtDW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - Unsurpsingly, CZCW’s first event of the year, Revolution, was met with excellent reviews. In front of a sell out crowd of 2000, Nicolas Lopez retained his COTT World Heavyweight title in the main event over Donnie J, continuing to be the representative of the COTT alliance. Normally a tag-team specialist, California Love Machine took on Waylon Malls for the Xtreme title, beating him for the belt, starting his second reign as champion. The standout performer of the night was Marvel Malloy in the co-main event that saw The American Cobras defeat Flash Sparrow.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- AAA wrestler and head booker, Cherry Bomb, has announced her retirement at the age of 39. She has given herself 3 more months to wrestle but has not yet stated if she will then focus on her booking duties or move out of the industry altogether.</span></p><p> </p><p> AAA also hosted their first event of the year, Pretty Amazing, in the first week of January, with a sell out crowd of 2000. The show saw Sara Marie York put in the performance of the night in her successful Femme Fatale title defence over Nadia Snow, Paige Croft win the Top Contender’s title against Talia Quinzel, marking her first reign with the belt, and the team of Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose retain their Tag Team belts over Jessica Bunny and Katherine Goodlooks, the Good Lookin’ Bunny. Cherry Bomb, who has just announced her upcoming retirement, was not on the show. After their win on the show, Lady Liberty and Steffi Chee announced they would be teaming together in the future under the name Double Feature.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">Late in the week, AAA also announced the sign of one of DAVE’s most iconic wrestlers, Eric Tyler, on a PPA deal. He can work in a multitude of areas, including as a manager, colour commentator, road agent and on-screen personality. He also works with PSW as a manager but should be able to share his time.</span></p><p> </p><p> - The first Friday of the year saw a couple of interesting non-wrestler signings by PSW and RIPW. First, PSW signed the legendary Sam Kieth to come and work with them in a road agent role. This mean that’s Keith will share his time between PSW and running MAW. Whilst The Guru, who is also a colour commentator for CZCW, signed with RIPW. It is not yet known if he will work as a manager, colour commentator or as an on-screen personality for them. RIPW is of course the developmental company for SWF.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- RIPW, SWF’s developmental company, are rumoured to be running two new storylines going forward. First, 2015’s March To Victory winner Masked Patriot is expected to feud with Ekuma, whilst two of their biggest rising stars in Spencer Spade and Lassana Makutsi are also expected to go head-to-head.</span></p><p> </p><p> - QAW, another women’s only promotion, hosted their Night Of Glory event in the Mid-South, which received mostly positive feedback. Raquel Alvarado defended the Shockwave title against Emma May and Hellcat Hernandez successfully, whilst, in the main event, Jillian Jarvis retained the World title over Foxxy LaRue in the match of the night, with LaRue putting on the best performance.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">On Sunday, QAW’s 26-year old midcarder Houston Handley was named as a rising star in wrestling.</span></p><p> - IPW’s Unbreakable V event saw The Outlaw retain the Californian Title over Ash Barnaby in the midcard, whilst the main event and match of the night saw their top performer, Frantic Ali, retain the IPW Championship title over Hustle Muvva.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- On Sunday, GSW announced the PPA signing of Jake Idol, one half of Rich And Famous with Jackpot Jordan in CZCW. As long as guys like Idol can share their time between these companies, it is always a good thing to get as much work under your belt as possible.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Canada</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="53ysuNJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/53ysuNJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - Some leaked information out of Canada appears to suggest that Frankie Dee’s next challenger as their Champion will be Sayeed Ali as 4C plan to put them into a storyline. Too Hot and Rajah are also expected to feud.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- CGC were the final company to host their weekly TV show of the week on Sunday, Title Bout Wrestling. It was a solid card overall and was main evented by Jack DeColt, the star of the show, retaining his World title over Thrill Seeker in the match of the night.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Mexico</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="jzf5Q0E.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jzf5Q0E.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - Good news for Mexican wrestling company EMLL as after their Camine A Traves Del Fuego event, they are now considered to be a regional sized company on par with rivals OLLIE, but still far behind juggernauts SOTBPW. Their show was very well received as early in the night DeCipher beat Boriken Love Machine Jr to retain the Campeonato de Historico title whilst in the main event, and the match of the night, Snake King retained his Campeonato del Mundo title against star of the show El Bandido.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">Using the momentum of their rise in size, EMLL announced on Saturday that they had agreed a deal with Canal Tres to host their events commercially throughout Mexico, though it has a very small viewership.</span></p><p> </p><p> - OLLIE themselves also put on an awesome show as they held their Bulls On Parade event in front of 4579 people. Just like in his match with CZCW, Nicolas Lopez again stole the show in his time limit draw co-main event with El Critico. The Ring Generals were in Mexico to, successfully, defend their COTT World Tag Team alliance titles over Dos Phoenix, Phoenix II and Phoenix III, whilst North Star Jr retained his Campeonato del Mexico title over Amo Del Gato. The main event saw Hijo Del Mephisto retain his Campeonato de Universal title over Gino Montero in a match that was every bit as good as the aforementioned El Critico/Nicolas Lopez match.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- The only bit of news this week to come out of Mexico for CILL was rumours of their plans to run storylines that pitch Magik and Tigre Salvaje Jr against Diamante Negro and Ragnar The Viking as well as Fallen Angel against El Pavo Real.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">British Isles</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="gggb9XD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gggb9XD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - Some nice news over in Britain as 45-year old Razor Valentine has returned from his 6-year hiatus from Japan, where he was studying with some of the world’s top martial artists, and is looking to find some work, whether it be in Britain, Europe or Japan.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Rhys Vali, a midcarder for SNP, has been caught with soft drugs. Seems to be a growing issue in professional wrestling but I hope he learns from this.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Japan</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ULwvZV3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ULwvZV3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - BCG began their Amazement tour on Wednesday. Early in the night Team Taku, the father and son duo of Toshinobu Taku (Father) and Yoshinaka Taku (Son), retained their Tag Team belts against Nobuharu Yokokawa and Sojuro Sen. Later Tanyu Toshusai beat Inejiro Yoshizawa to retain his Challengers Series title but the performance of the night came from, unsurprisingly, Funakoshi who beat Naonobu Marakami in the match of the night. I know he is loyal to BCG but Funakoshi really could make waves in a bigger promotion if he ever made the move.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">The second night of BCG’s tour on Thursday saw some questionable ordering of matches as Funakoshi defeated Bunrakuken Torii, their currently champion, in the co-main in an absolutely fantastic match that proves why they are two of BCG’s top stars, but the show was headlined by 51-year old veteran Masayuki Shiga defeating BCG’s third top young star in Razan Okamoto. Though the show was received well, there’s no doubt that if those matches were swapped around, the show would have benefitted. Elsewhere on the card Tanyu Toshusai retained his Challenger Series title against Dynamite Narahashi.</span></p><p> </p><p> BCG held their third day of the Amazement tour on Sunday, fresh off the news that they were to lose Tanyu Toshusai and Razan Okamoto to GCG. Knowing this, they had to get the Challengers Series title off of Toshusai, which they did, as veteran Naonobu Murakami beat Toshusai for the title in a match that was just as good as the main and co-main. Murakami is good but at the age of 49, I don’t think he would have been my choice of champion, midcard or not. The co-main saw Funakoshi put in the performance of the night in a surprising losing effort to Sofu Ozawa, another case of age of youth. The main event saw Blast Ikoma and Bunrakuken Torii reach a time limit draw with Masayuki Shiga and Okamoto. Sadly, Toshinobu Taku suffered a separate shoulder in his tag match early in the night which will see him miss the next few weeks of the tour.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- A couple of planned feuds for WLW were leaked (this is apparently a serious issue across the entire world nowadays) as Magnum Kobe and The Great Hisato are expected to enter a storyline against each other, whilst the teams of Above & Below, consisting of Universal champion Emerald Angel and Reaver, and Black House, Kazuma Narato and Mokuami Maita, are expected to feud, perhaps with one of the latter getting a chance at Emerald’s belt.</span></p><p> </p><p> On the first Friday of the year, WLW held their first LuchaResu TV show, with Infamy Inc, Nichiren Amagawa and Masa Kurata, successfully defending their Tag Team belts against The Samoan Pit Bulls, Akima Brave and Toma, early in the night. Then Yu Hashimoto defeated Fuyuko Higa to retain the All-Asian title in a match that competed for best of the night with the co-main that saw Yuma Maruya beat Shiori Jippensha, who was the star of the show. Finally, in the main event, Tomoko Nagatsuka retained the World title over Huntress Makiko.</span></p><p> </p><p> Towards the end of the week, 5SSW announced a new deal with J-Network East 3, which will see their events reach all areas of Japan commercially. First, Totoya Munakata, who also works with PGHW, was signed on a PPA deal. Their signing of BCG’s Razan Okamoto and Tanyu Toshusai on PPA deals are more controversial though. GCG are at war with BCG, meaning now that they have signed both men, they will soon no longer work with BCG. Okamoto is the 2015 Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix winner and was most likely a future champion for BCG, as he was a top guy alongside Funakoshi and Bunrakuken Torii. Toshusai was their current Challenger Series Champion, having defended the belt twice this week already, and was expected to be a future main event star for them. These are two big losses for BCG, and they will have their work cut out for them in replacing them.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">GCG continued their signings on Sunday. First, they signed Stone Yoshikawa to a PPA deal, meaning he will share his time with them and PGHW. January 2016 Week 2

USPW

veIkPnX.jpg

- In a move that will likely be considered a massive blow to CZCW, USPW have signed away one of their top stars, Masked Cougar, on a written deal. However, there wasn’t much more Cougar could achieve with CZCW. Honestly, Cougar is a fantastic high flier but that is exactly why I don’t know if he is the best fit in the land of the giants. Nevertheless, he has plenty of talent, so never say never.

- This week’s American Wrestling show by USPW saw 3 title matches. Trent Schaffer retained the National title against Andre Jones, Melody retain the Women’s title against Tiffany Jade and Casey Valentine defended his Television title against Freddie Datsun. Rich Money put in the night’s best effort, beating James Justice in the main event.

- On Friday, USPW announced the signing of two veteran wrestlers. First, Greg Black, who has been spending his time with PSW since his long stint with SWF ended, signed a written deal. Then Donnie J, the current CZCW Champion, has also signed. The ex-TCW man is a bigger blow to CZCW then losing Fox Mask as he was their champion, and they don’t have an event scheduled in time for him to drop the belt.

SWF

Wo5VYiS.jpg

- SWF’s Supreme TV show saw what I consider a massive upset. In just the second match of the night, world champion Remo lost to Robbie Retro. I don’t know what they’re thinking because Retro shouldn’t be in the title picture at the moment, though I am sure this match will just be forgotten by next week anyway. The main event saw The Crippler defeat Jack Bruce in the match of the night. Brandon James put in the best performance though, in his win over Steven Parker.

After the show, SWF announced that they were calling Lassana Makutsi up from RIPW. Makutsi has a lot of potential and star quality, so hopefully they handle it correctly.

- SWF held their first PPV over the year, When Hell Freezes Over, to a sold-out crowd of 30,000 on Thursday. The event had a lot of average matches and only two titles matches. The North American title was on the line, with Joey Morgan beating Frederique Antonio Garcia. The main event saw Remo defeat Angry Gilmore to retain his World Heavyweight title in an A-rated match. Whilst Gilmore carried a lot of the technical, in-ring action, Remo held his own. The show was considered awesome, but I would argue that the awesome main event made everyone forget the rest of the card, as other than that match it was average.

TCW

06lE9cI.jpg

- TCW announced on Monday that they had reached a deal with Pay-Per-View Services to cover their PPV events for the near future in Canada. TCW join NOTBPW under their current deals, so people tuning in will be sure to receive quality wrestling whichever company they watch.

- TCW’s Total Wrestling show saw a rematch from last week’s main event as Joshua Taylor again beat Aaron Andres in this week’s main event, seemingly having the champions number. Earlier in the night Marc Speed successfully defended his International title over Bart Biggins and The Behemoths retained their Tag titles against Devine Fortune. Also, in the pre-show they tested out the duo of Mighty Mo and Giant Tana as they beat The Elite, and they seemingly liked what they saw as the two will now be teaming up as Double Top.

21CW

xwOoE7A.jpg

- 21CW continued their signing spree on Wednesday, signing Maximum Carnage on a written deal away from SNP. He has already spent many years with 21CW in a tag team alongside Maximum Destruction, though there is no news on if his partner will be following him.

- 21CW’s Best Of British Wrestling show saw the face turns of DJ Reason and Buff Martinez, otherwise known as Hot Stuff. Having worked most of their time as heels, this will give them a nice change of pace and might freshen up the tag team division which has multiple young heel tag teams. The main event, and best match of the night, saw Edward Cornell beat DJ Reason by DQ. It was Tommy Cornell though who put in the night’s best performance in a thrown together match that saw him partner with Stevie Stoat and War Machine to beat Michael X, Sebastian Koller and Apollo Prince.

Shortly after the show they announced another signing, this time Louie Peyton on a written deal. This will be his second stint with 21CW.

SOTBPW

McdMXcM.jpg

- SOTBPW managed to put on another A rated match midway through their weekly Television show on Monday as Axxis Jr, their star of the night, defeated Mexican Ghoul. Nothing else too noticeable happened on the show but it was a great night of wrestling.

- On Friday SOTBPW held their first PPV of the year, Batalla de las Mascaras, in front of a sold-out crowd of 30,000. In a great night of wrestling with multiple fun match ups, Cerebro retained his Menor title against Heroe. Following a pre-match interview, the charismatic Champagne Lover retained the Mundo title over El Demonio in a fantastic A rated match. On a side note, Scarlet Scarab and Jagged teamed together in the pre-show and will now be known as Team Maestro.

On the same night (though actually before the PPV), those crazy Mexican bastards also hosted their weekly Lucha Libre show. Champagne Lover pulled off another A rated match up, this time against Pablo Rodriguez, as the two men fought to a no contest. Another big moment saw Pharoah King turn tecnico (face), seemingly ended his team with Multimillonario.

Following the PPV and TV shows, some of the new storylines for SOTBPW became clear. First, Soul Taker will be feuding with El Fuerza. Pirata Malvado will face Multimillonario. Xtinction will feud with Mayan Idol and finally, Pablo Rodriguez and El Demonio will face El Leon and Axxis Jr.

BHOTWG

6lJD741.jpg

- BHOTWG’s second Lords Of The Ring show of the year saw Hiroaki Nakasawa put on a great performance early in the night, carrying Java to one of the best matches on the show, pulling off the win in the process. The other match that contended for match of the night honours saw Kinnojo Horri defeat Masaaki Okazaki in the main event.

- Lower Midcarder Ryushi Sato has been named someone to watch going forward as of Thursday. It all depends on how they treat him. He is quite small for a middleweight and doesn’t really seem like a definite star, but he has potential.

PGHW

DqmXy7k.jpg

- PGHW opened week 2 of their Ravenous Tour with a bang as they had 2 A-rated matches. In the co-main event, Akinori Kwakami beat man-on-form Masaru Ugaki for the first A match whilst Kozue Kawashima, the performer of the night, beat Eisaku Kunomasu in the main event for the second A match. What’s crazy is that PGHW are having all these incredible matches without their champion, Yoshimi Mushashibo, being involved, and he is likely to continue this trend himself.

- PGHW continued their tour on Tuesday and Yoshimi Mushashibo put on the individual performance of the night in his win over Gonnohyoe Kada. Though, that match did not receive match of the night honours. Instead, a tag team match that saw Ryoma Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki defeat KitoGuchi, Chojiro Kitoaji and Bussho Makiguchi, in a rematch from last week did, with a fantastic A rated match. Surprise, surprise.

- On the Wednesday show, PGHW managed another 2 A rated shows. Incredible, the two members of KitoGuchi, Bussho Makiguchi and Chojiro Kitoaji, faced each other half way through the night, with Makiguchi winning, in the first A rated match whilst the other one, in the main event, saw Kozue Kawashim and Yoshimi Mushashibo beat Ryoma Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki.

- On Friday, PGHW held their first major show of the year, Night Of RESPECT. SATO retained his Historical Japan title against Tsurayuki Kamachi whilst, in the main event Kozue Kawashima beat Masaru Ugaki in the match of the night, an A rated match. Whilst it was an enjoyable show, it was odd to only have one title defended, with main champion Yoshimi Mushashibo not even on the show at all. Totoya Munakata suffered a dislocated shoulder that will keep him out for a couple of weeks.

- Holding their fifth and final show of the week on Saturday, PGHW continued their tour with two more A-rated matches. First was a surprising six-man match, which rarely are this good. It saw Tetsunori Yasuda, Yoshimi Mushashibo and Stone Yoshikawa beat Seiji Jimbo, Noriyori Sanda and Simon Flemmingway. The main event saw Kozue Kawashima continue to impress, beating Akinori Kwakami in another fantastic match. Young lion Hirobumi Takimoto suffered a cracker sternum on the show, meaning he will be out for the best part of the next month.

NOTBPW

erpO3ol.jpg

- NOTBPW, just like PGHW, unsurprisingly had another A-rated match on their Championship Wrestling show this week as champion Tim Westybrook beat Johnny Bloodstone in the main event. Westybrook is a good, talented lad but there is no doubt in my mind that Bloodstone carried the best of this match, for his second A rated match in as many outings this year.

- NOTBPW hosting their Big City Brawl PPV in front of a sold-out crowd of 30,000 meant the chances of at least one incredible match was quite high. Turns out, we got two. Thought it wasn’t one of the A rated matches, it is worth noting that Omar Brown & Harlem Haynes retained their Tag Team titles over Alexander Robinson and Lee Bennett. The first A rated match saw Johnny Bloodstone pick up his first win over the year over Sean McFly in the co-main. Following that, Tim Westybrook successfully retained his Canadian title over Steve DeColt in the main event, in another A rated match.

At the end of the week, Steve DeColt was voted the ‘Most Entertaining Wrestler In The World’ by the internet. Can’t disagree, he is definitely up there. It’s a shame he wasn’t a fan of me becoming head booker at CGC instead of a DeColt family member, otherwise he might be there still, competing against NOTBPW instead of with them.

USA

wa2vtDW.jpg

- Seemingly, QAW are considering Danielle Sweetheart as the next woman to feud with Jillian Jarvis over their World title.

Rising star Houston Handley is now dating QAW colour commentator Alfonso Garcia. Expect him to put her over plenty on commentary.

- PSW are apparently going forward with a storyline that will pit The Supreme Dream Team of Grandmaster Phunk and Greg Black against Madman Boone and Johnny Martin.

On Wednesday, PSW confirmed the signing of DAVE legend Nemesis, who will be working as a road agent. He will share his time between PSW and IPW.

- On Friday, AAA announced the signing of Farrah Hesketh to a PPA deal. She returns to the company she made her name in in the nineties, but this time as either a manager, colour commentator or referee, despite owning QAW.

On Sunday, it was revealed that AAA would be running two new feuds. Sara Marie York & Katharine Goodlooks would be facing Demelza Wade and Cherry Bomb. Odd pairings considering some of them have existing partners already. Also, Joanne Rodriguez would be facing Nadia Snow.

- SWF developmental RIPW held their Championship Battle 2016 event on Friday. There were only 4 matches, but Robbie Wright retained the USA title over Deever Arnold and hot prospect Spencer Spade retain the RIPW Championship title over Ekuma. Decent show.

On Saturday, RIPW announced the signing of manager and colour commentator Ernie Turner, who will share his time with NYCW.

- FCW held their FREEDOM Fighters event on Friday in front of a sold-out crowd of 1000. Ox Mastodon retained the People’s Championship against Hector Galindo and Hell’s Bouncer retained the Puerto Rican title against Leper Messiah.

- NYCW held their Rush Hour show, the final show for their Empire champion Roger Cage before he leaves for USPW. They had to move their Empire title away from him and the man they chose to win the belt was aging big man Man Mountain Cahill, who begins his third reign with the belt. They did put on the bets match of the night but without Cage to carry Cahill to a good match, I’m not sure how successful he will be as champion. Elsewhere on the card, Nicolas Lopez retained the COTT alliance’s World Heavyweight title against tag-team specialist Dean Waldorf and Crockett Tubbs retained his Tri-State Regional title against Whitehorse Whittaker.

- After losing two of their biggest stars, CZCW are looking to run a feud between Super Ninja and Frankie Perez, perhaps for the belt that Donnie J will leave behind.

- Magwitch, currently with GSW, apparently doesn’t care about being a dick. Working as an opener, he apparently felt so fed up with his push that he, and I quote, ‘went nuts’ on GSW booker CJ Weston, to the point that other wrestlers had the drag him away from the scene. Good job kid. If you get fired from there, having already lost your previous job with PSW, I can’t imagine you’ll find much luck elsewhere.

- Unemployed April Appleseed announced her retirement at the age of 43. The ex-NOTBPW wrestler and 2-time NOTBPW Women’s champion said she will give herself 3 months in case she can find any short-term work, and they she will be done.

Canada

53ysuNJ.jpg

- CGC will be running 3 new feuds going forward following their show last week. Having apparently enjoyed their main event title match, Jack DeColt will be feuding with Thrill Seeker. Christian Price will be facing off with Dan DaLay and Ricky DeColt will be tackling the monster that is Gargantuan.

CGC held their weekly Title Bout Wrestling show on Sunday, with The Predators, Nathan Black and Warren Technique, retaining their World Tag Team titles over Alan Parent and Stevie Grayson. Blockbuster also retained his Canadian title over Grease Hogg. The main event, and match of the night, saw Shane Nelson defeat Joey Poison, the stand out performer.

- ACPW will be running two new storylines also. First, Mimic and Diablo Duvak will be facing off. Second, Grimm Quibble and Jamie Atherton are set to feud.

Mexico

jzf5Q0E.jpg

- After a successful first event of the year, it was leaked that OLLIE plan to run two new storylines going forward. First, Universal Champion Hijo Del Mephisto is expected to feud with Marcos Flores, whilst Nicholas Lopez and Silver Tiger look to face each other.

Mystery Pink and Mr. Lucha III are dating apparently. Cool.

Japan

ULwvZV3.jpg

- WLW’s Fame & Fortune Event was performed in front of a sell-out 10,000 crowd. The first title match of the night saw Frankie Perez retain his Modern Japan title over Nichiren Amagawa whilst the main event saw Emerald Angel put in the star performance, retaining his Universal title over Reaver, SPEED D & The Tic. Kazuma Narato suffered a medium concussion in his losing effort, which will see him away from action for the next 56 days.

Days after their big show, WLW held their weekly LuchaResu show. The two best matches of the night, American Machine (American Elemental & Insane Machine) Vs Infamy Inc (Masa Kurata & Nichiren Amagawa) and Koki Ishibashi Vs Koji Kojima, both ended in no contests but Magnum Kobe’s performance in his win over Reaper Dante was the best of the night.

- BCG’s Amazement Tour continued Wednesday with Naonobu Murakami retaining his Challengers Series title against the touring Giant Brody. The main event saw Bunrakuken Torii impress in a losing effort against Blast Ikoma.

BCGs Thursday tour show saw Naonobu Murakami retain his Challengers Series title against Yoriie Ippitsusai. The main event, and match of the night, saw Roku Sotomura defeat the reigning champion Bunrakuken Torii to end a decent night of wrestling.

BCG held their big Heritage event on Friday as the departing Razan Okamoto put over the aging Masayuki Shiga in the co-main. Surely there could have been better options, especially considering their standout Funakoshi wasn’t on the show. Bunrakuken Torii successfully retained his World Title against Roku Sotomura, who has beat him the night before of the tour.

BCG’s last tour show of the week on Sunday saw Naonobu Murakami defend his Challengers Series title against Inejiro Yoshizawa. Match of the night, and the main event, saw Funakoshi, the stand out, Noritoshi Miura and Bulldozer Brandon Smith defeat Bunrakuken Torii, Yoshinaka Taku and Dynamite Harahashi.

- Eien Miyamoto is the next PGHW wrestler who has signed on a PPA deal for GCG, meaning they have now signed 3 PGHW part timers.

GCG have joined 5SSW in partnering with J-Network East 3 to host their PPVs commercially. Also, they announced their fourth signing that steals someone from BCG, Dynamite Narahashi.

On Friday, GCG continued their signing spree, signing Munimitsu Senmatsu and Morimasa Kato on PPA deals. Kato has also just been noticed as a hot property, so good going there.

- Eien Miyamoto signed his second deal of the week as he has joined PGHW’s ex-developmental company SAISHO on a PPA deal. This means he will share his time between three companies.

- Apparently, EX2010 will be running a feud between Super Joshuya and Burning Exile against Silver Shark and Tsuneyo Yanagimoto going forward.

On Saturday, they announced the PPA deal for young manager, colour commentator and personality Naizen Uboshita. Being just 18 years old, and having a great mind for the business, his future looks bright.

- The Yearly Wrestle Peace Festival independent show was hosted on Saturday in front of 2,086 people. The main event saw WLW star Koji Kojima beat SUKI from GCG. The match of the night saw BCG’s Funakoshi team with Hiroaki Nakasawa of BHOTWG to beat WLW’s duo of American Elemental and SPEED D.

- Unaffiliated young lion Kyuichi Matsumoto has announced that he will be going on an excursion to Europe and the British Isles to improve on his skills and gain experience, a regular practice with Japanese youngsters. The self-proclaimed “Powerbomb Master” seems to have his head on his shoulders.

Australia

DGOiy8b.jpg

- RAW held their weekly ‘Attitude!’ show and it was quite impressive, considering their limits. Maurice Jackson retained his Quest title over Horton Ravenwood. In the main event Captain Wrestling II again put on the night’s best performance as he went to a no contest with Luke Steele.

- ZEN held their Way Of The Dreamer event to a sold-out crowd of 1000 on Saturday. Warp-Jump, HalloWarped and Toady, successfully defended their Harmony titles against The Knights Temple, Killer B and SubUrban Legend. The main event saw Pumpkin Jack retain his Master title against Damian Dastardly.

Match of the Week

xzX8a1W.jpgO0SnvY7.jpgzpmyyXk.jpg

Champagne Lover Vs El Demonio (SOTBPW Batalla de las Mascaras) – 99 (A)

This week’s match of the week was very, very closely contested. There were plenty of excellent matches but incredibly, four matches I rated as 99/100, just short of perfection, split between SOTBPW and NOTBPW equally. Whilst Johnny Bloodstone Vs Sean McFly and Tim Westybrook Vs Steve DeColt, both at NOTBPW’s Big City Brawl, were deserving, as was Champagne Lover Vs Pablo Rodriguez, the award this week goes to Champagne Lover Vs El Demonio at SOTBPW’s Batalla de las Mascaras. This was given the nod as it was Champagne Lover’s second A rated match… ON THE SAME DAY! How do I not reward that?

Wrestler of the Week

5yKBsxy.jpg

Kozue Kawashima

It was really a close call between the PGHW pair of Kozue Kawashima and Masaru Ugaki, but the quality of Kawashima’s matches tipped him slightly higher this week, though both were involved in 4 A-rated matches. 2 weeks in and Ugaki has been runner up for WOTW both weeks, though he probably should have been given it the first week if it wasn’t for Cherry Bomb announcing her retirement. Kozue’s A rated matches were:

Vs Eisaku Kunomasu (PGHW Ravenous Tour (Mon) Week 2)

w/ Yoshimi Mushashibo Vs Ryoma Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki (PGHW Ravenous Tour (Wed) Week 2)

Vs Masaru Ugaki (PGHW Night Of RESPECT)

Vs Akinori Kwakami (PGHW Ravenous Tour (Sat) Week 2)

Show of the Week

erpO3ol.jpg

NOTBPW Big City Brawl

Whilst PGHW held multiple cards with fantastic matches, and SOTBPW also had a fantastic PPV, this week the award goes to NOTBPW’s Big City Brawl PPV. It featured two 99, A rated matches in the main and co-main event spots. The card was as follows:

Flash d. Jacob Jett (C-)

Mighty Cavanagh d. Mountie Mann by DQ ©

Julian Watson d. Cameron Vessey (B)

Lauren Easter d. Kristabel Plum by DQ (C+)

Angle involving Duane Stone and Owen Love (B-)

Shooter Sean Deeley d. Lord James King (B+)

Angle involved Tim Westybrook, Steve DeColt and Johnny Bloodstone (B)

Just like their existing content, In Your House will air on USPW’s Reverie subscription service, which is owner by the people who own USPW. Already on top of the wrestling world, this is only going to benefit them.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">On top of this, USPW also announced the signing of another young star, Kirk Jameson, on a written deal. Jameson has been working as a top star for FCW and has been one of their best performers but will now be given a chance on the biggest stage of them all. On Tuesday, Jameson was noted as being a hot property, so USPW did well to get him whilst they could.</span></p><p> </p><p> - Roger Cage made his debut for USPW in the opening match of their American Wrestling show against James Justice, who did suffer a broken jaw in the match but likely won’t miss much time, surprisingly. I couldn’t tell but if Cage was responsible for the injury, it isn’t the best start to his USPW career. The main event saw Steve Frehley and Enygma fight to a no contest.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- USPW continued their signings on Thursday, announced the signings of Fox Mask and Hell’s Bouncer on written deals. Fox Mask becomes the third wrestler they have signed from CZCW, main event talent at that, meaning CZCW’s hopes may rest in creating new main event stars. Hell’s Bouncer had just retained his Puerto Rican title for FCW but will not be on hand to lose the belt, meaning FCW will have to crown a new champion from scratch.</span></p><p> </p><p> - On Friday, USPW debuted their new B-show In Your House. One major positive of this show is it allows USPW to showcase some forgotten stars of their company and give time to them. The star of this debuting show was Joss Thompson as he teamed with The Towers Of Power, Danny Rushmore and Mick Muscles, in the losing side of the main event against Krusher Karloff, Casey Valentine and T-Rex.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SWF</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Wo5VYiS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Wo5VYiS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- SWF’s Supreme TV show this week didn’t really set the world on fire. This doesn’t mean it was bad, just nothing popped. The most notable match saw The Crippler defeat Angry Gilmore by count out in the main event, though I think they could do better. By the way, nothing has been followed up on in regard to Robbie Retro beating Remo previously, what a surprise.</span></p><p> </p><p> - SWF ended the week on Sunday by announcing they were calling up another manager Kristen Pearce. Pearce is absolutely ready to do what she does best on a bigger platform and I expect her to be partnered with someone who will receive plenty of screen time going forward.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">TCW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="06lE9cI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/06lE9cI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- TCW held their Total Wrestling show on Tuesday and Joshua Taylor continues to prove that he is the man in form for TCW. He beat Bryan Vessey by DQ in the main event in an A rated match. Though its his first one, he has won in the main event for TCW every week of January so far in very good matches. Nothing else too noticeable happen but it was a solid night of wrestling.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>21CW</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="xwOoE7A.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xwOoE7A.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> - On Monday, the two companies who have not stopped signing wrestlers in 2016, 21CW and GCG were involved in the latest signing. On this occasion, 21CW signing Samoan Machine on a written deal, meaning he has one week left by GCG. I am sure GCG will respond to this by signing someone from BCG.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">Trance became their latest signing on Tuesday. He has previously had a stint with 21CW before but wasn’t highly regarded and honestly, he probably will just end up jobbing this time too. </span></p><p> </p><p> - Three titles were defended on 21CW’s Best Of British Wrestling show on Thursday. First, Sebastian Koller retained his United Kingdom title against Doomsday. Then The Red Devils, Viktor Veskov & Yuri Iliakov, retained their Tag Team belts against The Underdogs, Joe Simpson & Michael X. Finally, in the main event, Edward Cornell beat Kevin Jones in the match of the night to retain his World title. Tommy Cornell’s performance in his win against Petey Barnes in the opening match was considered the best of the night.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- 21CW held their first PPV of the year, Steel Cage Challenge, on Saturday. A questionable decision to me is that they left Tommy Cornell off the show, even though he would likely put on the best match of the night. Maybe that’s why? Maybe they don’t want him to outshine the main event. Either way, Sebastian Koller retained his United Kingdom title over Kelvin Badberry whilst Adam Matravers and Stevie Stoat put on one of the two best matches of the night, with Stoat surprisingly picking up the win but Matravers putting in the night’s best performance. The main event, and other top match, saw Edward Cornell retain his World title over Dark Angel. 21CW are the only top-8 company to not have an A rated match so far.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SOTBPW</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="McdMXcM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/McdMXcM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - SOTBPW’s Television show on Monday was a typically great night of wrestling, headline by another A rated match as El Leon beat Soul Taker. Every match on the night I considered at least B rated, which is impressive, but none stood out quite like the main event, both means first A match so far.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Incredible. Friday’s SOTBPW Lucha Libre show featured the world’s best match of the year so far, and the first match I considered good enough to be considered an A*, 5 Star match. Unsurprisingly, it featured the two men involved in last week’s best match of the week, Pablo Rodriguez and Champagne Lover. This time, Rodriguez won by count out. Expect this match to be heavily involved in any future match of the year conversations. Also, Cerebro retained his Campeonato de Menor title over Velocidad.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>BHOTWG</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="6lJD741.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6lJD741.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> - BHOTWG’s Lords Of The Ring show aired on Monday in a solid night of wrestling. Three matches all shared the honour of potential match of the night, all rated B. First, the opening match of Masaaki Okazaki, Hiroaki Nakasawa and Koshiro Ino defeating Ieyoshi Simakage, Java and Gonkuro Kamioka received this honour. Then Tadakuni Toshusai beat talented gaijin Matthew Keith. Finally, Eisaku Hoshino beat Tasuku Iesada in another impressive match.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- BHOTWG’s The Burning Path I PPV, whilst good, featured some questionable match ordering. This is because they received their 1st A rated match of the year as Tadiyuki Kikkawa retained his World Championship title over Koshiro Ino, in the CO-MAIN. The main event, inexplicably, saw Kinnojo Horri, Tadakuni Toshusai and Chuichi Sanda beat Eisaku Hoshino, Natsu Miyamae and Heihachiro Sakai in a good match, just nowhere near as good as the previous match. Elsewhere on the card Kansuke Konda and Phenomenal E retained their Junior Tag Team titles against American Panther, Black Eagle and Hyosuke Kokan and Sensational Dragon retained his Junior Championship title against Marihito Masuko.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>PGHW</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="DqmXy7k.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DqmXy7k.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> - PGHW opened their week of tours on Monday with ANOTHER two A-rated matches. Before said matches, Simon Flemmingway retained his International title against Ryoma Muruyama. Sadly, in this match, Flemmingway suffered a broken ankle that will sideline him for just over a month. It appears they are keeping the belt on him but that could change. Then, in the co-main and the first A rated match, Akinori Kwakami defeat Kozue Kawashima in their second A-rated match since the beginning of the tour. Then, in the main event, Yoshimi Mushashibo and Masaru Ugaki went to a time limit draw in another A rated match.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- PGHW seem to be going down this Kozue Kawashima Vs Akinori Kwakami well a few times this tour. I mean, why not? It received another A rated grade on their Tuesday tour date, with Kawashima going over, but one can only assume that fans could get tired of seeing these two fight so much. In some awful news for PGHW, GCG and Stone Yoshikawa, Yoshikawa tore his quad in his match against Eien Miyamoto, which will keep him out for the next year. Awful news, I hope it all works out for you, Stone. Goemon Komiya also suffered from a ‘Quizzical Neck Strain’ but he should be able to work through it.</span></p><p> </p><p> - Yes, PGHW got an A rated match on their Wednesday Tour show. No, it did not involve Kozue Kawashima, Masaru Ugaki, Akinori Kwakami OR Yoshimi Mushashibo. It happened in the co-main as Eisaku Kunomasu defeated Raymond Diaz, Diaz’s first A match of the year. It looks like Goemon Komiya and Hirokazu Yamanoue will be going forward as a tag team named Bad Habit after winning early in the night.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- PGHW’s final show of the week on Saturday saw Yoshimi Mushashibo top Masaru Ugaki in the co-main, another A rated match. Ridiculous the kind of quality PGHW fans are getting right now. The main event saw a great match with Tetsuori Yasuda beating Eisaku Kunomasu. Tsurayuki Kamachi received a broken collar boner in his match, leaving him out for a few weeks.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>NOTBPW</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="erpO3ol.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/erpO3ol.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> - NOTBPW continued their run of one A rated match per show, as did Johnny Bloodstone as he lost via count out in the main event of Wednesday’s Championship Wrestling show to Duane Stone. This week they announced that they have also signed his tag team partner Jackpot Jordan to a PPA deal. Both men also work for CZCW as Rich And Famous.</span></p><p> </p><p> Both Jake Idol and Jackpot Jordan made their debut as a team for GSW on their The Underground 2016 event on Friday, winning in the opening match. Aces High retained his West Coast title against LatiNoFear. The main event saw Cali Slick successful in his efforts to defend his American title against BB Colossus in the best match of the night, alongside the tag team opener.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- NYCW will apparently be going with two new storylines going forward. First, Man Mountain Cahill’s first challenger for his new belt should be Bulldozer Brandon Smith, someone who could believably topple the giant. Also, veterans Honest Frank and Steve Flash will be feuding.</span></p><p> </p><p> - On Thursday, PSW announced they’d no longer be working with Eric Tyler. Apparently, it was an amicable split, with the company looks to cut some of its roster. Tyler wasn’t available for comment though, so there could be more to it. He was recently hired as a manager for AAA though, so he won’t be without work. They also announce young star Xavi Ferrera wouldn’t be working with them going forward for the same reasons, though I am sure he will be able to find some work sooner rather than later.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- RIPW duo Kristen Pearce and Remmington Remus are in a relationship now. The best match of the show was the opener as Christian Price, Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt teamed to beat Joey Poison and The New Soldiers Of Fortune, Destiny & Fate. The main event saw Thrill Seeker, Gargantuan and Dan DaLay beat Donte Dunn, Shane Nelson and Zeus Maxmillion. Honestly, their show was pretty average but that tends to be the case with shows like this where you don’t have standout single or tag team matches.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">Also Hailey Hunter and Intrepid Ian Identity are now an item seemingly. </span></p><p> </p><p> CGC followed up their Elimination XV event on Sunday with their Title Bout Wrestling show, which probably was a better show. The main event and match of the night saw Jack & Ricky DeColt come up short in their efforts against Thrill Seeker and Dan DaLay.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Already an unpopular wrestler due to his stiffness, Shiva has made matters worse for himself, complaining about Too Hot’s booking in 4C. He should consider a move to PGHW or BHOTWG.</span></p><p> </p><p> Funakoshi put in the best performance of the night on BCG’s Wednesday tour date in the main event, a 3v3 match in which he was on the winning side, but it was the co-main event of Big Bruiser Findlay beating Roku Sotomura that I considered the best match of the night. Naonobu Murakami continued to defend his Challengers Series title, beating Yoshinaka Taku.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">On Thursday their tour continued, with Funakoshi again putting their best performance on in their match of the night, and co-main event, in a losing effort against Blast Ikoma. The main event saw champion Bunrakuken Torii defeat Yoshinaka Taku in a non-title match.</span></p><p> </p><p> BCG held their final show of the week on Sunday, main evented by a frankly awful match that saw Masayuki Shiga defeat Sofu Ozawa, both men towards the end of their careers. Its even worse when considering Blast Ikoma beat Funakoshi in the co-main again, with them putting on the clear match of the night, one that deserved main event status. Naonobu Murakami retained his Challengers Series title against Bulldozer Brandon Smith.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- WEXXV held their Big Egg Rebellion event on Tuesday. Their first title match of the evening saw The McWade Brothers, Dallas and Dean, win the Blood Brothers titles for the 3rd time after beating previous champions The Forlorn Hope, Koichi Kajiwara and Zeshin Makioka. Eiichi Umehara successfully retained his King Of Death Matches title over Toyokuni Hardcore in the next match. Finally, in the main event, Munemitsu Senmatsu retained his Warrior’s Heart title over Doug Peak in what was by far the best match of the night.</span></p><p> </p><p> - GCG held their first show of the year following all their recent acquisitions. Art Of Battle was held in front of a sold-out crowd of 5000. Tanyu Toshusai made his debut in the opening match, beating Massacre. Namboku Makuda retained his Openweight Championship over Azumamaro Shimizu. Three wrestlers made their debut in the next match as Razan Okamoto and Morimasa Kato beat Washi Heat and Sozen Ishinomori, the only man who wasn’t debuting. It looks like Okamoto and Kato will be teaming frequently going forward. Shingen Miyazaki and Mabuchi Furusawa retained their World Heavyweight Tag Team titles against Shotaro Ikana and Yasuhide Tayama. New Tag Team Champions were crowned as The Barracudas, Chopper Rourke and Blitz Simpson, beat Areas Death Cult, Gyula Lakatos and Cesar Sionis, to start their third reign as champions, with the previous champions managing zero successful defences. The main event saw Tombstone put in the nights best performance in order to defend his DIW Championship against Blaze Maximum, the clear match of the night.</span></p><p> </p><p> - Unemployed Anguish has been named a hot property in Australia. These two put on the year’s best match so far, an early match of the year contender, which is crazy to say in January with eleven months and one week left to go. It beat out competition from the regulars PGHW and NOTBPW as well as TCW and BHOTWG. <p>New update coming in a few hours.</p><p> </p><p>

If anyone has any idea of something I can include in the diary, or maybe change formatting wise so it is more appealing and friendly to the eyes, I would appreciate it.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, though predictions wont have any real impact on the diary, unless I can think of something, I might start doing predictions based on what my happen during the next week of the game. So if anyone has any ideas for that, I'd appreciate it.</p>

Then, National Champion Trent Shaffer turned face to successfully defend his title against Eddie Howard, who received a swollen calf muscle but will not miss any time. Ekuma is a massive Hawaiian who, whilst no master technician, is improving in the ring considering his size. He has plenty of potential as a top star for SWF though, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him receive a good push. As well as Ekuma, Masked Patriot has also been moved up to the main roster. He is almost certain to receive success, using a gimmick and mask that has been around for decades. Expect him to be pushed well too, especially as his mask will be good for merchandise.</span></p><p> </p><p> - SWF held their Supreme TV show on Tuesday. Rocky Golden’s win in the midcard over Marc Speed shared match of the night honours with the main event that saw Sammy Bach defeat Wolf Hawkins by DQ.</span></p><p> </p><p> - TCW appear to be going ahead with a few new storylines going forward. Joshua Taylor & Rocky Golden will be feuding with Bryan Vessey & Chance Fortune. Ricky Dale Johnson appears to be the next challenger for Aaron Andrews’ title and Wolf Hawkins will be feuding with Sammy Bach off of the latter’s recent DQ victory over the former.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- TCW’s Mighty Mo seems like someone to consider a rising talent. The first big match saw The New Wave, Guide & Scout, win their Tag Team Titles for the sixth time after beating The Behemoths, Killer Shark & Titan. In the next match, Wolf Hawkins defeated Ricky Dale Johnson in a fantastic A-rated match. Marc Speed picked up a big victory over Eddie Peak to retain his International Title. The reason I say this is because, for the second week in a row, SOTBPW fans have witnessed a A* match on their Monday Television show. Even better, this time it was a classic Mexican styled Trios match, in the midcard! El Leon, Champagne Lover and Xtinction won that bout, beating Genio Verde and The Sea Monsters, Jormungand & Labbu, the three losers all being midcarders for the promotion.</span></p><p> </p><p> - SOTBPW continued their form on Friday with their Lucha Libre show. The match saw Masaru Ugaki, Seiji Jimbo and Ryoma Muruyama defeat Yoshimi Mushashibo & KitoGuchi, Bussho Makiguchi & Chojiro Kitoaji. Tetsunori Yasuda beat Raymond Diaz in the main event in a great match but, sadly, Yasuda suffered a back injury that will keep the top star out for three months.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Another Three Vs Three match headlined PGHW’s Tuesday Tour date and it received another A rating. This time, Masaru Ugaki, Eisuke Kunomasu and Kozue Kawashima team to defeat Chojiro Kotaji, Akinori Kwakami and Raymond Diaz.</span></p><p> </p><p> - PGHW’s Wednesday date consisted of another two A rated matches. The main event of Yoshimi Mushashibo going to a time limit draw with Kozue Kawashima was expected but the midcard bout of Raymond Diaz defeating Seiji Jimbo was perhaps a little more of a shock. Both men have had A rated matches already, but usually they involve one of the big four of Mushashibo, Kawashima, Masaru Ugaki or Akinori Kwakami.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- On Friday, PGHW announced a deal with Prime Japan TV to run their future tour highlights to a medium viewership. This is good news for fans of the promotion as, let us be honest, there are A LOT of great highlights on their tours.</span></p><p> </p><p> - For the first time in what seems like forever, PGHW’s Saturday show did not have an A rated match on it. The two best matches of the night weren’t far off however as Raymond Diaz beat Seiji Jimbo in a rematch in the co-main and Yoshimi Mushashib, Kozue Kawashima & Akinori Kwakami went to a time limit draw in the main event against Eisaku Kunomasu & KitoGuchi (I will no longer be naming the two members of the team every time going forward).</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Saturday’s show marked the end of PGHW’s tour, though they’ll be back on tour for three months, starting next month. He isn’t anything special in the ring but works a unique gimmick. He could be a decent midcard guy if he can develop in ring.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- MAW held their eleventh annual Rip Chord Invitational event on Friday and the winner was surprising, at least in my opinion. First, Hal Harvard retained his American Title over Josh Jacobs in the opener. Also, Trix Triumph and Deuce Deadline’s tag team win will see them teaming together more in the future. Two early favourites for the Invitational faced in the first round, in the match of the night, as George Wolfe beat Greg Gauge. Surprisingly, the winner of the event was Cameron Jones, one half of the current Tag Team Champions, who beat Cheetah Boy, Wolfe and then the visiting NYCW star Marv Statler in the main event to lift the trophy. Perhaps he is in line for a singles push going forward then, as if he sticks in his tag team it seems like a wasted opportunity.</span></p><p> </p><p> At the end of the month, MAW announced they had agreed to load 4C star Sayeed Ali for their next event as part of the Confederation Of The Territories alliance they are both a part of.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- PSW held their Passing the Torch event on Saturday. Ironically, the main event consisted of two veterans as Grandmaster Phunk retained his PSW Championship over Little Bill Lebowski in one of the two best matches on the night. In the night’s opener, in a decent match, Morgan Malone and Hudson Drake retained their Tag Team Championship titles against Thunder & Lightning, Jason Thunder & Lightning Lomas. Later, Nathaniel Ca$ino retained his Hardcore belt against TJ Bailey. Then, in the CO-MAIN, Frankie Dee retained his 4C Championship title in the match of the night whilst the main event saw Too Hot, Chris Flynn and Hugh de Aske defeat Leftie Wilkes, Joe Gilbert and Rajah. I know Too Hot is the booker and probably wanted to be in the main event, but I can’t see any reason this headlined over their main title match.</span></p><p> </p><p> - CGC’s Title Bout Wrestling show was headlined by Dan DaLay defeating Zeus Maxmillion, the only really notable match of the show.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Mexico</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="jzf5Q0E.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jzf5Q0E.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- Two new storylines that EMLL will be running going forward are Angel De Mexico Vs Snake King and El Bandido Vs Guerrero Muerto.</span></p><p> </p><p> - On Saturday OLLIE became the second company to make a deal with Canal Tres to host their events going forward.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Japan</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="ULwvZV3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ULwvZV3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">- 5SSW will be running a couple new storylines going forward. There is no doubt in my mind that Funakoshi carried Shiga to a match of that quality at his age, so I don’t see why Shiga should be getting these big wins. He is a decent worker and has plenty of charisma, so I can see him getting a good push.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Match of the Week</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="nL0AME6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nL0AME6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="xzX8a1W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xzX8a1W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hXyUJxo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hXyUJxo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="O0SnvY7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/O0SnvY7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zDcMj16.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zDcMj16.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="IKQrwVU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IKQrwVU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Qmbyqdf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Qmbyqdf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>El Leon, Champagne Lover & Xtinction Vs Genio Verde & The Sea Monsters (SOTBPW Television Week 4) – 99 (A*)</strong></p></div><p></p><p> For the third week in a row, an SOTBPW match earned MOTW honours. This time it was a fantastic six-man match that saw El Leon, Champagne Lover & Extinction defeat Genio Verde & The Sea Monsters. There’s no denying the form of Champagne Lover right now but the other five men absolutely held their own, which is great for the losing team who are all considered midcarders at this point of their careers.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Wrestler of the Week</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="am8BY3h.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/am8BY3h.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>Yoshimi Mushashibo</strong></p></div><p></p><p> Masaru Ugaki comes up short again this week, though it wasn’t as bad as other weeks since the award really could have gone to him, Kozue Kawashima, Raymond Diaz, Seiji Jimbo or any of the men involved in the SOTBPW six-man match. Or even Sean McFly after he had an incredible match and announced he was having a child. However, Yoshimi Mushashibo did enough, in my opinion, to earn this honour. First, he was on one half of an awesome six-man match himself, then he had a fantastic match against Kozue Kawashima:</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>w/ KitoGuchi Vs Masaru Ugaki, Seiji Jimbo & Ryoma Muruyama (PGHW Ravenous Tour (Mon), 93, A)</p><p> Vs Kozue Kawashima (PGHW Ravenous Tour (Wed), 93, A)</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45168" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Show of the Week</strong></span></p><p> <img alt="DqmXy7k.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DqmXy7k.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>PGHW Ravenous Tour (Wed)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Though none of the cards were quite as impressive as the winners in the previous weeks, for the first time so far, a non-NOTBPW promotion held the best card of the week.
