Present Day Real World Mod Comparison

Recommended Posts

Trying to get a feel from everyone in deciding between using Fleisch's mod vs TheWho's for a present day real world game. I would be playing as WWE. Curious which mod makes things easier and which more difficult with some specifics if you reply. So for example worker stats, popularity, money, etc. Feel free to include information on any other mods I'm missing here that are kept fairly up to date. Also, I'd be looking to sign a bunch of people so also would love to know how the stats are for workers outside the WWE. Finally, is one mod considerably larger than another in certain areas? So, just to keep it civil, this isn't so much about which one you think is better but a comparison of the specific differences.

I think the only way to judge is do it yourself. Both are good mods but it really depends on exactly what fed and how you want to play. The Who summed up the two mods basic differences pretty well (although he was perhaps a little tough on himself both mods have a lot to recommend them). The easiest way to tell is download both and then look at the fed you want to play (in this case WWE) and decide which version works best for your purposes. Also remember that if there's any stats you really don't agree with you can tweak things using the editors - it's not hard especially if it's only minor tweaking.

By the by how do you import workers from one mod to another?

I really enjoy both Mods. I love to dive into Fleisch´s cause of the biographys and stuff. Its more like a wikipedia for me. I learned so much about wrestling beyond wwe and njpw. Excellent work.

TheWho has also an excellent Mod. Its way tougher and offers more of a challenge feeling in terms of booking.

We can be glad to have these awesome guys!

I may do the import. How does that work when you have relationships between workers? Can I import the relationship and will it still work based on the worker names even if one is imported from another mod?

I like the detail mentioned that was put into Fleisch's mod. The cookie cutter stats is of course a negative for TheWho but the larger number of people is a positive for what I want to do. Also, I like that TheWho makes things more difficult.

Still not sure though which way I want to lean yet. Would love to see some more postings with people's experiences with each mod.

For talent depth, mine doesn't come close to TheWho's and although a lot of people have (as Who puts it) cookie cutter stats, this in no way detracts from how much fun it is to play. Stats change in game over time anyway. If you want a huge database, that is the way to go. Although mine is a lot smaller, it does still contain around 2700 workers so not a tiny database, just more streamlined.

Both mods have something to offer and to be honest, playing both and deciding would probably be the best way on making your decision. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Easy. TheWho's mod is the best one out there.

Let's not forget that TEW's a game originally made to fit the Cornellverse. This guide clearly explains how the game mechanics work and guess what? A lot of stuff from Who's mod is based on that.

TheWho used to have a forum where the community would submit changes and discuss workers stats and popularity. Derek B was part of the community.

Apart from that, Who's mod is much more complete; not only it offers more possibilities as there are much more companies, locations and workers, but the gimmicks setup is better.

I think my biggest problem with TheWho's is that WWE is being replicated too well, meaning the roster is made out of glorified midcarders (very talented, but still) and has too many workers.

I'm not saying this is TheWho's fault, I'm saying I gave up on WWE and may actually start watching, ughhhh

Impa- guaighahgkfhn.

Sorry, puked a little.

When it comes to pretty much any mod, one thing I like to do after downloading it and before starting a save.... run a test save. Start unemployed and fast advance through a few months. I find this tends to give a nice idea of how the mod grades, especially with specific companies. I can generally do a bit better than the AI when it comes to grades. So if the AI is getting Bs with the WWE, I can probably get B+. If the AI is getting A shows....
