Interestingly enough, Heyman has spoken on a "ghost" 4 million dollars that the company lost out on because the PPV guys stiffed them.

Which is why I often think a lot of Heyman stuff is smoke and mirrors, I think the company was probably in much worse state when he sold it than he let on. But I don't think he's the type of guy that would let the truth get in the way of a good wrestling story!</p>

After the match, C.W. Anderson poses, and throws up the “W” sign again. Both mystery men from yesterday run into the ring, and pose with Anderson, flexing before also throwing up the “W” sign. Anderson gets up, and requests a microphone from ringside. “

: "Well, I can't say first hand at the time, because I wasn't working with The Colons. But, that's neither here nor there. Everyone was chirping because Paul took them right under Carlos' nose. It was a bill of goods he sold them: two young men, a somewhat popular federation, an edgy product -- to be young and in love with the business. Real touching, until you consider that he ripped people off".

: "As I just said, Sean, I wasn't working for Carlos, so I can't say either way. But I'd bet Paul E. directed the two to leave without notice. And, Carlos, when you back him into a corner, and he feels disrespected, he can be a mean son of a *****. Dangerously doesn't want to be a manager. He lifts his nose at promoting. No, Paul wanted to be worshipped, and he wanted the boys, the fans and the entire business to kiss his feet".

: "Yes, that's obvious. But was does the poor showing here, by ECW, indicate"?

Kevin Sullivan

: "It showed that, without Rob, Paul E. was done. He was the money ticket. When Rob wasn't on the card, they were an outlaw territory. And not a good outlaw territory, a middling one".

Kevin Sullivan

: "It really showed here. Without Rob, they were an embarrassment".

Sean Oliver

: "So, looking at the card, what was Paul E. doing here"?

Kevin Sullivan

: "He was stalling for time. He knew Rob couldn't go out there and tear down the house every night. Other guys had to get over".

Sean Oliver:

"Over. But if Rob's the company, the star, why did Paul need to push the other guys"?

Kevin Sullivan

: "Two reasons. First, he needs to have a contingency plan, in case something happened to Rob, as it inevitably did. But primarily, he needed to build guys up to face Rob".

Kevin Sullivan

: "And unless Rob was on the card, that was all he cared about. And hats off to him, Paul E. accomplished his primary goal here".

Sean Oliver

: "How does Paul E. get guys over on this mediocre show"?

Kevin Sullivan

: "It's really straightforward, what Paul E. did here. He put over Rhino and "

The Crusher

" big here, putting them in the right spot to get over without taking the win. And willing to sacrifice everything, on a tour date in suburban New Jersey, to get the fans to believe these two were a legitimate threat".

Sean Oliver

: "Who did Paul E. sacrifice on this card"?

Kevin Sullivan

: "First, Paul E. had Mikey Whipwreck buried, again, in this match. But that wasn't a big deal. Whipwreck had always been a sympathetic babyface, an underdog. For nearly a decade, they sent Mikey out there to put the heels over. But this wasn't 1994 anymore. People saw through Mikey's schtick. You couldn't just bury him perpetually after the guy performed on Pay-Per-View. So it didn't work as well as it used to".

Kevin Sullivan

: "But Roadkill? That hurt. He was a legitimate big guy with athleticism. He'd already lost the tag titles. He was carrying that team with Doring, so when Lynn and Rhino beat him, it was like that Paul was beating him twice in one night".

Sean Oliver

: "He never recovered from that".

Kevin Sullivan

: "Mike? He never got his shot at the big time. You know, I ran into him at a reunion show, back in Philadelphia, he was doing okay. Working for about minimum wage, lost some pounds, but he wasn't wrestling. He was signing autographs. Michael DePoli could've been a huge star in the Fed. If nothing else, he's a big menacing heel, like Tenta was, who oozed legitimacy. But after Paul E. was done with him? The fans couldn't get behind him. He couldn't even get a try-out match".

Kevin Sullivan

: "But in Paul E.'s mind, unless you were 5'7'' and could land a reverse moonsault after three rotations, you weren't worth that much. And as for "

"? Paul E. didn't think that far ahead. He couldn't see the potential the bigger guys had, except for "

The Crusher

", because he had to out-smart everyone else. He has to have one of the biggest egos in the wrestling business. If Paul E's not in my top five, then he's probably got a permanent spot in my top ten".

Sean Oliver

: "After being dumped by the network, Paul Heyman was out for blood, and in this episode, we're talking to everyone and anyone who witnessed his last stand with ECW. Without a TV deal, and with hundreds of thousands in debts, Paul E. had nothing to lose. The show is really good, but those weird ratings though.

ECW's been getting dinged for production pretty much every show, so the ratings are off.

I don't know what happened with Whipwreck vs. Anderson -- usually Mikey always delivers.
