“NXT: Succession”

Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. This diary takes place in Week 1, Jan. 2015.

Chapter 1: “Better to Reign in Hell, then to Serve in Heaven”

Backstory: Triple H has been experiencing growing frustration with being under Vince McMahon thumb. Now make no mistake, Triple H has been a loyal soldier being under the McMahon regime, even going so far as to bearing the full punishment of the infamous “Curtain Call” incident. After getting positive reviews after every NXT Takeover preceding either a Raw or Smackdown pay per view, which would do great in comparison. But after Survivor Series 2014, Triple H has had enough. He was beyond frustrated. He felt backed into a corner, because he was getting good review on the NXT weekly show, and Pay per views, and then when the people on the show get called up, they get buried quicker than the Undertaker. Furthermore, Vince refuses to relinquish booking control of Raw or Smackdown, which every night the fans are vocal about their displeasure.

And then one night, Trips got an email that would change his life forever. Turns out, that he received a mysterious E-Mail from “Unknown Benefactor”, only goes by the name “Mr. Tyler”. The email basically said in so many words, that he knows about Triple H’s frustration within the company. He basically gives him an offer that he could not refused. He offers Trips to form a Coup within the company and wants to know who would be willing to go with him. To his surprise, not only did Majority of the roster from NXT decided to go with him, but some of the Main Roster defected to go with him as well. Mr. Tyler gave one stipulation to the deal, he would have to take on an independent wrestler by the name of Logan Anthony, in addition he wants Anthony to be the booker, which Triple H accepted (which if Triple H felt that Anthony wasn’t up to the task, he could fire him), but he has a stipulation of his own. He asked Mr. Tyler to show if he was serious or not, so to prove his worth, Tyler deposited $1 million dollars in Triple H’s account.

After everything was said and done, Triple H was working in the shadows and worked to get the ownership of NXT under his name along with the shows and PPV away from WWE. And by some miracle (and the addition of Tyler’s legal “influence”), Triple H did the unthinkable, he broke away from WWE (outside of WWE Storylines anyway.)

By the time Vince had found out what was done, it was already too late. Vince used his army of lawyers, and to no avail, NXT, the show, the roster (both NXT Roster and some of the Main Roster as well) were gone. But Vince being Vince, he gave Hunter the “Bret Hart” treatment, basically “undoing” all his accomplishments, also waging war again NXT and everyone who went with him. But what’s done is done.

Chapter 2: Strange Bedfellows:

It’s the first week of the New Year of 2015, and Triple H isn’t his happy self. Over the last few weeks of forming a wrestling version of a Coup de tat, he has been plagued with uncertainty. His marriage to Stephanie McMahon has been on a rocky road. He has pretty much lost everything. To include his training facilities that he had with NXT is gone. The Global influence that he once had, was now was gone. But he didn’t leave WWE empty handed. “Mr. Tyler”, not only did he gave him a Million Dollars, but he also gave him an Office in Florida. The same base of operations in Florida just a very smaller spot.

As he pulls up to his new office, he sees a stranger waiting outside of the office.

Stranger: “Mr. Levesque? “

Triple H: “If you are another one of Vince’s Lawyer’s, I am going to beat the hell out of you!”

Stranger: “Naw man. I am not a lawyer, I am Logan Anthony. We have a mutual ‘acquaintance’, Tyler? He told me to come here at 9 am today, meet up with you, and start working today. “

Triple H: “Its 8:30 am. “

Logan: “If you are on time, your late. If you’re early, you’re on time.”

Triple H: “Well if you are here to work we might as well go inside. And get to work. “

As Logan and Triple H, goes inside the office, Trips is impressed with the

office. Not as big as his WWE office, but still very nice.

Triple H: “So Logan, Tyler said that you are working for me as a booker, before he gave me the money. Questions is WHY should you work for me?”

Logan: “ So basically, I am interviewing for a job I should ALREADY HAVE. Ok, I will bite. I am a ex-Army Soldier, 15 years, Honorably Discharged. Bachelors Degree in Business Management. And been a Pro Wrestling Fan since I was 6.”

Triple H: “Wrestling fan, huh? Fine. Pop Quiz, Who is in your own opinion: Best Wrestler, Tag Team and Feud”

Logan: “Honestly? Dusty Rhodes, The Dudley Boyz, and The Four Horsemen vs Sting or Dusty Rhodes. … it’s a tie”

Triple H: “Not bad. Here’s your first task. “

He hands Logan a list.

Triple H: “Here is the current talent that came with me from WWE/NXT. There are 38 names on that list. Since we are not under the financial blanket of WWE, we gotta get rid of AT LEAST 15 people. You have til tomorrow to get me the names, any issues with that? “

Logan: Nope.

<div style="text-align:center;">Chapter 3: Chopping Block.. or… is it?</div> Its 24 hours later, and Triple H drives up to the office. As he enters the office, he sees Logan already at the office working. Triple H: “Your early. What time did you get in? “ Logan: “Get in? Who says I left? “ Triple H: “Fair enough. So, do you get that list? “ Logan: “Yeah” Logan hands him the list and as Triple H opens it up, he is instantly displeased. Triple H: “I don’t know if I made myself clear, but I said we need to release 15 people. This is only 6 people. Now, I know I was skeptical about you being the booker, but I didn’t know you had difficulty COUNTING.” Logan: “I am going to let that slide. Now, let me tell you something that Tyler didn’t. “ Logan gets right up in Triple H’s face. Logan: “I may respect you. But make NO MISTAKE … I DON’T FEAR YOU. Now, I know you are doubting my abilities, and that’s fine. I will prove my worth. But… if you have a problem with me…. we need to settle it RIGHT NOW. Now we can talk it out, or we can FIGHT IT OUT. Your move, Boss.” Triple H and Logan stare each other down, and it looks like they are going to come to blows. After what it seems to be forever, Logan breaks the silence. Logan: “I understand you said that you wanted at least 15 people gone, now yes I released 6 people, but look how much it cost you. “ Logan hands him a second sheet of paper. Triple H’s face turns from anger to shock. Triple H: $380, 000?? Logan: “Yeah. Almost $400,000, for those 6 people. You see, when you adopted their contracts, they transferred over to you. Not to mention, that with the networks that we are dealing with, we must make sure that our production values, music, and the live shows we must produce, that cost money. Remember, we can’t go to Full Sail anymore. Vince locked that up.” Triple H: “Make sense. So why these guys? “ Logan: “I had to separate the wheat from the chaff. I know it cost us almost half of our money but if we play our cards right, we can not only get our money back. We can get more. But right now, you need to trust me. Because the way I see it, we both have a lot to lose. Do you agree? “ Triple H nods in agreement, so they both sit down in the board room as they plan out their strategies. Triple H: “Before we move forward, I have a few goals, that I have for you, if you going to be booking for NXT. Logan: “I’m listening” Triple H: “1. We can’t fall below in size lower than what we are. 2. You can not hire anyone who is above 45, a Japanese Junior style of wrestling, or an MMA Crossover. Vince has huge hard on for Dana’s UFC guys. I want to stray away from that. “ Logan: “Can’t say I blame you. Anything else?” Triple H: “Yeah, we have to maintain the same popularity, if not more, in America. I will say in about 2 years from now. That will give me a good amount of time to see if we are progressing as well as we should be.” Logan: “Fair enough” Triple H: “So we need to plan out a show, we have a few weeks before our next show” Logan: “Not a few weeks, a few days. In fact, we must do a show on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the networks want their show, regardless of the situation. Now, we can change the date of the show, but we are going to have to produce a show. So, we got an hour to produce but we have a Pay Per View in less than 2 weeks. But I recommend that we push it back until week 4. That give us a decent amount of time to book a good show.” Triple H: “That a good idea.
