WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING RETURNS

NEW YORK – World Championship Wrestling, defunct since 2001 and under ownership by World Wrestling Entertainment is set to make a dramatic return to screens later this month. Former WCW President Eric Bischoff is set to relaunch the brand following his purchase of all WCW trademarks after their lapsed renewal from the WWE this year.

“It was an opportunity we had been anticipating for some time” said Bischoff, stood alongside former WWE executive, now WCW creative director Bruce Prichard. “Vince McMahon did not see any future in the WCW trademarks and decided to let them lapse earlier this year. We pounced on the chance and are now in a position to relaunch the company with a new vision combined with the same creativity and athleticism that set us apart in the mid to late 1990’s”

Bischoff made the announcement at the Hulu Theater, a part of the Madison Square Garden complex. The theater will also be a short-term home for the returning ‘WCW Nitro LIVE’ on Thursday June 21st. “The Hulu Theater will be the home of WCW Nitro LIVE for its first three weeks and these three shows will be exclusively available to view on the Hulu platform. Make sure you catch every second of WCW action leading up to our ground-breaking event, ‘The Big Bang’ on Wednesday 4th July from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas where we will crown a brand-new WCW World Heavyweight Champion”. Bischoff will also announce at this event where the permanent home to WCW Nitro will be.

When asked what we can expect from the new WCW, Bischoff smiled. “There will be elements from the old company that some people will instantly recognise, along with a fresh new outlook for 2018. We will turn some heads, that’s for sure”. On display during the evening of the press conference were the shiny new WCW championship belts. “We’ve had the new belts made from scratch, however people will recognise our crown jewel”. The crown jewel Bischoff refers to is the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt which is a recreated version of the title worn by greats such as Lex Luger, Sting, Big Van Vader and Ric Flair in the early 1990’s. Bruce Prichard also presented the WCW Great American Championship to the press which is a new title to the WCW universe. “The Great American Championship takes the tradition of the WCW United States title and adds to that. Our champion will display all the qualities we expect of a true American. Pride, respect, fair-play and athleticism”.

No names have been announced for WCW’s new roster. Bischoff promises all will be revealed on the return edition of WCW Nitro LIVE from the Hulu Theater in New York on Thursday June 21st. You can watch the show LIVE on Hulu at 9pm EST.

<p>For storyline purposes I'm using the idea that WWE let the WCW trademarks lapse (either by error or lack of interest) and Bischoff picked them up.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm around 6 weeks in at the moment, just need to put everything into a readable format <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
