<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;">Excerpts from March 2, 1998 Wrestling Observer Newsletter</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>To add to the names of performers that have left the NWA, both <strong>Butterbean</strong> and <strong>Tully Blanchard</strong> worked their final contracted appearances at NWA's Night 4. Our sources tell us that Butterbean is one that the NWA will keep an eye on to possible return because of his professionalism and because he is a natural performer and could make a decent run if he decided to go full time. Obviously though, Butterbean continues to be successful in the boxing world so he didn't want to go full time just yet.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>In Blanchard's case, he appears to be putting the final touches on his in ring career. He put a bit of shine on the NWA's Brainbusters wannabees, <strong>The Spinebusters</strong>, during their six man tag match. No word on what Blanchard's future looks like at this time but we can't imagine that he will remain unemployed for long.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>Wayne Bloom aka <strong>The Masked Marvel</strong> has been on NWA President, <strong>Dana White's</strong> bad side for the past couple of weeks as Bloom has been argumentative with almost all of the backstage workers going all the way back to the NWA relaunch. Bloom was more than upset with <strong>Jake Roberts'</strong> condition and began reaming out White as soon as the match was over. White agreed with Bloom and even got into with Roberts over it, but Bloom wouldn't let White off the hook.<br /> <br /> Our sources say that the NWA sent an office worker to Bloom's hometown to record a vignette that was to air with Night 2 but the video was never aired as Dana got word from the producer that Bloom was extremely rude during the filming and refused to do anything that the office wanted. White was so livid over Bloom's actions that he destroyed the film and Bloom didn't come to Night 2.<br /> <br /> On the most recent NWA show, Bloom jobbed out to the rookie, <strong>Shawn Hernandez</strong> but no sold his finish, the piledriver, and immediately walked to the back after the pinfall. Sources say that after Bloom was told that he was putting Hernandez over, he and White got into a yelling match that only ended when the red-faced White was pulled away by <strong>Tom Prichard</strong> who calmed down both sides. We were told that Bloom was forced to put over the junior performer as punishment for the vignette issue. After the match, White and Bloom got into it a second time that olny ended with Bloom leaving the building. At this time, Bloom is advertised for NWA 5 at the end of the week.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>It appears that they have reached out to and signed some new wrestlers in the past few days. From our understanding, all of the wrestlers are in the cruiser/junior heavy mold as the NWA is looking to move forward on the separate weight class front. Some have already been announced for NWA 5.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>On a final NWA Note, the following are the results for our <strong>Mail-In Prediction Contest</strong>. Congratulations to <strong>KnowYourEnemy</strong> for the highest score and being the only one to correctly guess the Finals of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Special notice to <strong>DGenerationMC</strong> who was the closest to a perfect bracket in the initial tournament announcement pickems with 14 of 16 correct. Great job to all and we hope to hear from you again for NWA 5.<br /> <br /></li></ul><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" You've got a great thing going with this DaBlaze. I clicked on this yesterday and I got caught up, Your show write ups are fantastic. It's early days but you've already set a strong identity for this new take on the NWA, I think Mike Awesome was a great choice for your first Champion! I really thought you were going to take Charlie Haas all the way for awhile there, I was quite surprised when he got knocked out in the Semi Final by Marty!</p>

First out is <strong>Chad Collyer</strong>, a white meat, smiley youngster in plain trunks makes a fiery entrance, trying to get the crowd on his side. Collyer pumps his arms up and down, yelling <strong>YEAH! LET'S GO!</strong> as he makes his way to the ring. He slides in and begins hopping around in a circle as his opponent's theme begins to play.</p><p> </p><p> The other competitor is the masked luchadore, <strong>Averno</strong>. Although he stands out from Collyer because of his mask, Averno's entrance feels very samey with the luchador trying to get the fans to cheer but to no avail. The crowd actually seems to actively dislike Averno because of it. </p><p> </p><p> The match is definite change of pace from the type of action that the National Wrestling Alliance has been putting out there since the relaunch as both men start at a blistering pace and maintain it the entirety of the bout. Averno shows off his lucha libre style with flying around the ring, throwing arm drags and adding complex movements to simple moves making them seem completely outlandish and Collyer countering that with quick technical holds, chaining them together in a beautiful showing.</p><p> </p><p> The match came to a close as Averno hit Collyer with a dropkick to the knee, dropping him from standing, followed up with a rebound dropkick to the head, putting Collyer on the mat. Averno picked Collyer up and was able to hit the Devil's Wings to win his debut match with the NWA.</p><p> </p><p> The crowd came alive during the sequences but couldn't care less for the men themselves. Once the match was over, the crowd remained fairly silent as the two men made their ways back to the backstage area.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="FkSTHDQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FkSTHDQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>Averno defeated Chad Collyer in 7:52 by pinfall.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="GEPA7Ez.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GEPA7Ez.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45656" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="AKUlvip.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AKUlvip.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AiK5Od3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AiK5Od3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="6J9nwff.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6J9nwff.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="691MyVm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/691MyVm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Stone & Steele vs Kaz Hayashi and Jamie Noble</strong></p><p> 1 Fall - 15 Minute Time Limit</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The show's action continues as <strong>Stone & Steele</strong> make their entrance. The crowd is starting to warm up to Gary as this team has begun to gain steam. The two men are getting better as team and look to show this off against two new signees to the NWA.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kaz Hayashi</strong> is first out alone. Hayashi is decked out in loose fitting black pants, kickpads and boots. Hayashi makes his way down the rampway, apparently cursing out the fans and just acting like an asshole. I say apparently because he's only speaking in Japanese so the fans aren't quite getting the full story and thus aren't buying into his shtick. His teammate for the evening, <strong>Jamie Noble</strong> makes his entrance and simply b-lines for the ring to get this match started. Noble is another man this evening wearing plain black gear with very little frills and the fans are almost begging for some color at this point.</p><p> </p><p> This match keeps up the tempo of the opening contest from the opening bell. Stone pushes all of the other men in the match to keep up as he sets the pace and, for the first time since his debut, finds a contemporary in Hayashi who not just keeps up with Damien but pushes back as well. The two teams battle back and forth as Stone & Steele try to keep the match to quick, mat based sequences but it gets broken up by the high flying of Hayashi and Noble. Similarly to its predecessor, the fans got super into the flying around and the surprise technical holds but is unable to care about the men themselves. </p><p> </p><p> The finish comes as all four men are in the ring. Counter after counter ends with Stone pushed out of the ring and Hayashi laying him, and himself, out with a huge Asai Moonsault from the apron. Noble gets distracted by the huge move, letting himself get caught from behind by Steele who throws him overhead with a German Suplex, bridging into a pinfall for the victory.</p><p> </p><p> The crowd was going crazy as the match ended but it was more so because of the crazy moves, not the guys doing them. Steele and Stone continue to show off the polished team that they are becoming but the two new debuts gave them a run for their money.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="AKUlvip.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AKUlvip.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AiK5Od3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AiK5Od3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>Stone & Steele defeated Kaz Hayashi and Jamie Noble in 11:03 by pinfall.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="i8ruFB4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/i8ruFB4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45656" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="PyMrR9l.jpg?2" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PyMrR9l.jpg?2" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hT9JqeQ.jpg?2" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hT9JqeQ.jpg?2" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="tAwOvCn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tAwOvCn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="HzE6EEE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HzE6EEE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Shane Twins vs Christopher Daniels and Reckless Youth</strong></p><p> 1 Fall - 20 Minute Time Limit</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> As Stone & Steele make their way to the stage, their exit is interrupted by the entrance of <strong>The Shane Twins</strong>. Ox and Bull try to intimidate the smaller team but Stone is completely unfazed as he pushes past the brothers and exits through the curtain with Steele in tow. Ox and Bull continue their way down to the ring to a smattering of boos from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p> Their opponents are yet another debuting duo. <strong>Christopher Daniels</strong> and <strong>Reckless Youth</strong> make their way to the stage to an apathetic crowd. Neither man looks all that impressive with Youth in blue gym shorts and black boots and Daniels in a fairly generic singlet. They look like they just came from some backyard show, which doesn't get the fans on their side at all. They make their way to the ring, slapping the few hands that are offered before getting into the ring.</p><p> </p><p> This match was a classic power team vs speed team with the Shanes acting as the bases for the smaller Daniels and Youth to fly off of. Both men, Daniels especially, was able to use the Twins as anchors to perform their amazing moveset. The Twins did their part by showing of their strength with huge throws that would cause the smaller men to fly across the ring, which always looked impressive. Daniels and Youth flew around with Reckless abandon, keeping the Shanes out of sorts with flips and the like. The crowd continued their streak of popping huge for the moves, which looked amazing, but not caring one bit for the wrestlers themselves. </p><p> </p><p> The match came to an end as Daniels got a blind tag as Youth was tossed into the ropes. As Reckless made his way back to Bull, Bull tossed him in the air with a back body drop but Youth was able to go straight up and come straight back down. Reckless turned the toss into a tornado DDT, planting Bull on the crown of his head. Daniels made his way in, turned to the turnbuckle, and springboarded into a Best Moonsault Ever as Youth launched himself into Ox, who was trying to make his way into the ring. Both men tumble to the outside as Daniels gets the pinfall victory.</p><p> </p><p> Daniels meets up with Reckless outside of the ring and they begin celebrating as Ox stands up and starts tossing things, upset about yet another loss. Bull meets Ox and they bicker a bit before making their way backstage.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="tAwOvCn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tAwOvCn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="HzE6EEE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HzE6EEE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>Daniels and Youth defeated The Shane Twins in 15:15 by pinfall.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="X4xWi2b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/X4xWi2b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45656" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="zC5VaiP.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zC5VaiP.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="p3vyEbg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/p3vyEbg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="K2TujSU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/K2TujSU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="OhUIuW0.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OhUIuW0.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Team Haas vs The Spinebusters</strong></p><p> One Fall - 30 Minute Time Limit</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> And the night continues with the final two on two bout as the brothers <strong>Charlie and Russ Haas</strong>, announced as <strong>Team Haas</strong>, make their entrance. In matching blue and red singlets, the Haas brothers make their way to the ring to a decent reaction as Charlie's tournament success has raised his profile tremendously with the Las Vegas crowd. They get to the ring steps and both men get together in a quick huddle before getting into the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Their opponents, <strong>The Spinebusters</strong> burst through the curtain with a bravado that has been unrivaled so far tonight. The crowd doesn't give a great reaction to Pearce and Anderson but the quieter crowd doesn't deter the Spinebusters for even a second as they make their way into the ring.</p><p> </p><p> The match was a great showcase of all four men as they had the time to really show themselves off. The debuting Russ started the match with the veteran Anderson and showed that he has the potential to match Charlie on the mat. Anderson, however, took the opportunity against the inexperienced Russ to use some underhanded tactics to get the upper hand. The Spinebusters kept the momentum throughout the match, dominating both brothers with quick attacks and tags. The Haas' would swing the momentum from time to time but just couldn't take the match over. But, no matter how much the Spinebusters pushed, Team Haas never stopped pushing back. As the match continued, it was obvious that this may have been one of the longer matches any of these men had because, although none seemed to be overly tired by the extent, there were moments where the action would slow to a crawl, seemingly getting their place in the match, before picking up speed again. Russ and Adam had the biggest difficulty with this when the two of them were in the ring together.</p><p> </p><p> As the ring announcer announced that <strong>One Minute Remains</strong> in the bout, the urgency picked up as Pearce and Charlie began exchanging holds, trying for a suplex or slam that would allow them the time to get the victory. Russ and Anderson began cheering louder and louder for their teammate but neither man was able to finish the match before the bell rang, ending the match with time limit draw. As Referee Armstrong breaks them up, both teams begin bickering with Charlie begging the referee for more time but Armstrong tells all the men that he doesn't have the authority to do. The announcer gives the official decision as both teams continue to be upset that a winner had not been decided but the crowd was appreciative of the efforts off all four men as they leave the ringside area.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The Match Is Ruled A Time Limit Draw.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="BBf0ADE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BBf0ADE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45656" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YywakL9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YywakL9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="WXEgmup.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WXEgmup.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>The Masked Marvel vs William Regal</strong></p><p> One Fall - 30 Minute Time Limit</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The next match is a special attraction singles bout that gets is about to begin as <strong>The Masked Marvel</strong> begins his entrance. There is something just off about the Marvel as he makes his way to the ring. Coming to the ring without his robe and without any sense of urgency, Marvel seems to not care one bit about being there tonight. Without acknowledging the crowd even for a second, Marvel gets into the ring and stands in his corner, completely bemused about the situation.</p><p> </p><p> Making his way to the ring for his NWA debut, <strong>William Regal</strong> is decked out in maroon trunks with matching boots. The crowd finally begins reacting with more energy towards Regal than they have to anyone else tonight. Regal steps up to the apron and wipes his feet on the apron before getting into the ring. Regal and Marvel meet in the center of the ring and they shake hands before the match begins.</p><p> </p><p> It's very obvious that Regal made this match, his ability to drag the best out of his opponent was put to the test as Marvel didn't put a bit of effort in. Regal wrestled circles around the masked man and looked like he is on an entirely different tier than his opponent. </p><p> </p><p> The match came to an end as Regal was able to put the Marvel into the Regal Stretch, which Marvel submitted to almost as soon as Regal began cranking. The referee called for the bell as Regal let go of the hold and Marvel rolled to the outside before the bell stopped ringing and made his way to the backstage area with the same amount of concern as he had as he entered. Regal begins waving to the crowd before asking for a microphone.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="WXEgmup.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WXEgmup.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>William Regal defeated The Masked Marvel in 13:39 by submission.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="GEPA7Ez.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GEPA7Ez.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="WXEgmup.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WXEgmup.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Regal</strong> is handed a microphone by the ring announcer and he begins thanking the fans for being there for his NWA debut but tells the crowd that he was disappointed in his competitor tonight. Regal says that he came to the National Wrestling Alliance to show how good of a wrestler he is and become an even better wrestler by working with the best wrestlers. He tells the crowd that he is hoping to get in the ring with the best the NWA has to offer and begins asking the fans who they would like to see him have matches against. He gets reactions to each name but gets a great reaction from him saying Mike Awesome, which he lets the crowd cheer before continuing. But before he can get much further... </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="dCf2Wwi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dCf2Wwi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Mike Awesome</strong> makes his way to the stage with a microphone in hand. Awesome begins running down Regal, saying that Regal was only here because it was the last stop he had before leaving the wrestling business all together. Awesome tells Regal that he has no chance against him as he begins smacking the <strong>NWA World Heavyweight Championship</strong> belt around his waist, repeating that he was the best this business had to offer. Regal says that if he was so sure about that, Awesome should put the belt up right now against Regal and prove it. The crowd cheers at the prospect of a NWA World Championship match but Awesome begins shouting at the crowd. Awesome says that one win doesn't put Regal in line for his championship. Plus, Awesome says, <strong><em>Tonight isn't about you. It's about me and what I want. And what I want is to tell you that you said were looking for some training partners here. Well, I hope you found them because I beat you to the punch by recruiting two of the strongest men in the NWA to my camp.</em></strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="cDTLz7c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cDTLz7c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AVmcWlo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AVmcWlo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Horace Boulder</strong> and <strong>Shawn Hernandez</strong> meet Awesome on the stage. Awesome tells Regal that he, Boulder, and Hernandez, now known collectively as <strong>HOSS</strong>, are the alphas of the NWA and no beta, like Regal, will ever get as huge as they are. Awesome throws the microphone to the ground and three men on the stage pose as the fans boo. Regal smirks and nods his head as he hands the microphone back to the ring announcer. Regal gets out of the ring and waits for HOSS to get to ringside before making his way to backstage.</p><p> </p><p> Regal is a godsent for the crowd. They love to see him wrestle and love to here him on the mic. Awesome is decent as well but flubbed a bit during his stable announcement but the point got across and all four men came out looking great.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Qb9LcES.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Qb9LcES.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45656" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="dCf2Wwi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dCf2Wwi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cDTLz7c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cDTLz7c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AVmcWlo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AVmcWlo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <img alt="TrNTlMq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TrNTlMq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="3NcapWH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3NcapWH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NzOQKQL.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NzOQKQL.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Mike Awesome, Horace Boulder, and Shawn Hernandez vs Scott Putski and The Titans</strong></p><p> 1 Fall - 45 Minute Time Limit</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> With <strong>HOSS</strong> already in the ring, <strong>The Titans</strong> make their entrance to a pretty hollow reaction. Reese and Andrews do their pose on the stage and make their way to ringside but the music of <strong>Scott Putski</strong> begins before they get much down the ramp. Putski comes out with the pomp and circumstance that he feels he deserves but only gets a bit of a reaction from the crowd. Putski makes his way down the ramp and blows past the Titans to get into the ring and begin posing again, completely ignoring all of the men in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> As the match begins, it's hard for the crowd to get behind anyone in particular because no one is really redeemable in this. Eventually, they get behind Awesome because of how impressive he is, showing off his speed and strength by making his opponents look just inferior. Especially when he gets in the ring with big Reese, you can tell just how much better Awesome is in just about everything. The match is a big man battle with big dudes throwing around other big dudes and hitting each other as hard as they can so the sound echos around the room. HOSS has the advantage throughout the match and the Titans never get their feet under them. Putski never gets into the ring as anytime Reese or Andrews tries to tag him, he jumps from the apron to the floor. </p><p> </p><p> Eventually, after seeing Hernandez throw Andrews over head across the ring, Putski puts his hands up and just leaves the match entirely. The crowd begins jeering Putski as he makes his way up the ramp and through the curtain. The Titans continue to the fight as best they can but the overwhelming team of HOSS is too much and the match ends with Andrews getting tossed over the top rope by Hernandez as the legal Reese gets smacked in the neck with a Lariat from Boulder that lays him out. Awesome makes the tag and is able to pick up the giant Reese and hit a huge Awesome Bomb that results in the HOSS victory. </p><p> </p><p> After the match is over, Hernandez throws Andrews back in to the ring and hits him with a Piledriver before all three men of HOSS stand tall. The show comes to an end with Awesome, Boulder, and Hernandez standing above the bodies of Reese and Andrews, hands raised in victory.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="dCf2Wwi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dCf2Wwi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cDTLz7c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cDTLz7c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AVmcWlo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AVmcWlo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>HOSS defeated Scott Putski and The Titans in 21:31 by pinfall.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="i8ruFB4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/i8ruFB4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Show Rating</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="i8ruFB4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/i8ruFB4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;">Excerpts from March 16, 1998 Wrestling Observer Newsletter</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>Following up on the <strong>Wayne Bloom</strong>/<strong>NWA</strong> situation, Bloom walked into NWA 5 and immediately was called into a private meeting with <strong>Dana White</strong>. Sources say that the meeting was very quick but seemed very civil. Word is that Bloom handed in his resignation but agreed to put over <strong>William Regal</strong> before leaving. After the match, it is reported that Bloom tossed the Marvel mask in trash before leaving the Riviera before the main event was even over.<br /> <br /> When reached for comment, White said that there was nothing to say. White continued by saying that Bloom was unhappy and that the National Wrestling Alliance doesn't want to employ people who don't want to be there. Bloom, on the other hand, had other thoughts. Bloom said that White is completely out of his depth running a wrestling company. Bloom commented that White has no idea how to be successful and will finish burying the NWA if he continues to run people like himself out of the company.</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>A source close to the situation have told us that the <strong>National Wrestling Alliance</strong> is in talks with a former <strong>World Champion</strong> to come in on a limited basis.
