Major League Wrestling: The Flagship

Founded in 2002 to fill the chasm in the Southeast caused by WCW going under, Court Bauer, then only 24 years old, launched Major League Wrestling to help fill the void. Bauer’s background as a writer for the WWE was brief, but enough to gain him respect throughout the industry. Over the next two years Major League Wrestling became the home for a mishmash of older superstars and a launching pad for some names that are still prominent in the industry like Homicide and Low-Ki. Names such as Brian Danielson, CM Punk, Terry Funk fought for the original MLW. Shane Douglas, Satoshi Kojima and Mike Awesome have all held the MLW title, but as the industry changed so did the initial success of MLW. In early 2004, after producing 34 events over two years and securing broadcasting rights on SunSports for a year-long run, Court Bauer formally closed the promotion.

Over the next seven years Bauer bounced around, including a stint on the WWE Creative team, but he jumped back into the business side in 2011 with MLW Radio, a new business model focusing entirely on producing live content, podcasts and even managing the PR and road schedules for acts such as Jim Ross. Now as 2019 starts up, Court Bauer has announced that Major League Wrestling will be making its return, starting in February with MLW: The Return! He also announced that there will be 15 additional events that would all be broadcast and archived through the YouTube platform throughout 2019.

With that announcement Bauer also announced that MLW has already secured contracts with fighters and promoters that will represent five factions within MLW. Today, exclusively on MLW Radio: The Flagship, Court sat down to pull back the curtain a bit on the new MLW. Once again MLW will have an entertainment-based focus, but with more of a realism feel that can be tied to the fact that these are "Fighters" not "Wrestlers" and many are part of "Factions".

As Bauer joined the show, he announced he would reveal those factions and fighters live on air.

Black Friday Management

The mysterious promotor behind Black Friday Management would only release this statement as it related to his faction, "Black Friday Management is more than a promotional and managerial service… It’s a syndicate of the most successful and ambitious doing whatever it takes to ensure our own have the best payouts for matches, are predominately featured in the main events, and last but not least – are the most respected and feared among our peers. This is what Black Friday is all about."

With that in mind, Black Friday has announced its first four members that range the spectrum from the 480 pound Caramel Colossus, Barrington Hughes, to the young 150 pound, hot-shot, Myron Reed. As well as established star in ACH and a relative unknown in Rhett Giddins. Look for Black Friday Management to push hard to land new recruits and continue to promote its fighters in the coming months.

Beauty and brawn, Salina De La Renta, may be the only female promoter in MLW, but she is not one to be messed with. Representing the best Hispanic fighters in the fight game Selina has assembled an initial squad of four of the most feared men in Professional Wrestling. The Silent Assassin, Low-Ki, will immediately be a force in the main event picture. While The Lucha Bros, Penta el Zero M and his brother Rey Fenix will be the top talent in the tag division. Beyond that, Ricky Martinez, The Human Pitbull, represents the a rising talent that is sure to create waves on the undercard. Salina may be young, but her fighters are fierce, and as the name suggests, out for gold.

Stud Stable

Bruce Pritchard, a mainstay on MLW Radio, brings to you his "Stud Stable" featuring four rough and tumble fighters with extensive backgrounds in both amateur and professional wrestling. The star of the group is clearly Jake Hager, the former WWE Champion, Hager comes to MLW after a successful run in the WWE and recent run in the Los Angeles area with both Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Lucha Underground. The tag component of this group, The Dirty Blondes, Leo Brien and Mike Patrick, may not be lookers but they are a vintage tag team that would fit in the 1980's and certainly fit the style that Pritchard is trying to promote. They are rough and tumble and they will do whatever it takes to take out an opponent. Last but certainly not least is the monster Mike Parrow, though relatively unknown, Parrow is a physical man that will not be tossed around easily. With both a cage-fighting and street-fighting background, Parrow provides the group with some much needed muscle.

Two years ago Dana White suspended Tom Lawlor from the UFC for failing a steroid test. Lawlor owned up to it, and felt like he'd earned a second chance but the phone just never rang. He landed in Ring of Honor in early 2018, failing to capture the title of Top Prospect, but making a statement with his feud against the officials and authority. Lawlor continued to grow in Ring of Honor and appeared to be on the upswing when he abruptly left the company in late 2018. He's resurfaced here in MLW with his "Fight Team" and is ready to go toe to toe with anyone who wants a fight. His team, Fred Yehi and "The Prizefighter" Simon Gotch both have strong ground games and are both game fighters. Yehi has recently been seen on Ring of Honor television and is also a mainstay in the Southeast with FIP and EVOLVE. He holds the FIP World Heavyweight title and represents the best overall fighter in the group, though his low-key demeanor will keep him out of the limelight. Simon Gotch meanwhile left the WWE in 2017 only to struggle to find work on the independent scene after a poor showing in December of 2017 with Ring of Honor. Gotch was "found" by Lawlor performing prizefights at local carnivals in the Orlando area and was recruited to join Team Filthy and represent the group with his fists and technique.

The New Hart Foundation 2.0

What more can be said about this group, just look at the surnames. Hart, Smith, Pillman. The Hart Family Dynasty continues in MLW with this arrogant and frankly raw group. The defecto leader Teddy Hart was a rising star, who was even part of the original MLW, but drugs and steroid usage paired with an awful attitude have labeled him a black-mark on society and a jail stint sent him out of limelight for a number of years. Back on the independent scene Teddy Hart began getting his name clean and clear and now he's here in MLW to showcase the talents that made him the one to watch in the early 2000's. Under his wing he's taken Brian Pillman Jr. The legitimate son of the late Brian Pillman, the younger recently decided to step into the squared circle and though he's yet to have a single match, he's shown the charisma and star quality that made his father famous but will his decision to align with the "Blackhart" Teddy Hart be beneficial or harmful? As for the third member, Davey Boy Smith Jr made waves all over the world in 2018, including in NJPW and ROH where he joined Cody's Royalty stable in December. Unfortunately a Broken Fibula will keep him out of action for the next few months, but when he returns, we expect he'll be a force in the main event scene here at MLW.

Though formally unaffiliated there are a number of associations worth knowing about within this group starting from the top. There is an informal associate between three deranged individuals, Brody King, Fulton, and Jimmy Havoc. The so-called "Death Machines" love violence both in and out of the ring and they promise to bring their brand of pain to MLW from the get-go.
Jason Cade and Jimmy Yuta have formed an unlikely alliance and form a solid pair. Cade is an undercard mainstay in the Southeast, appearing frequently for EVOLVE and FIP, on the other side of the coin Yuta is returning stateside after an extended stay in Japan where he trained at Michinoku Pro for the last few years. Originally trained by WWE star Drew Gulak, Yuta brings his brand of Fighting Spirit to the MLW roster with eyes on tag gold.
Joey Janela is famous for his death matches and hardcore wrestling but has turned himself into quite the name with his social media presence and acumen.
Joey Ryan is the King of Sleaze and has made a name for himself all over the world with his Sleaze Style!
John Hennigan is surprisingly unaffiliated here, at least for now. Despite a global reputation, Hennigan is here for himself and out to prove that he is one of the worlds best.
Kotto Brazil, Rich Swann and Shane Strickland form a trio with athleticism off-the-charts. The threesome seems unafraid of gravity and together they will be a force on the scene as all three are capable of stealing the show.
LA Park may be over 50 but the former WCW star can and will still bring it in the ring.
Maxwell J. Friedman is very quick to tell you he is better than you and the 22-year old prodigy would be glad to show you why in the ring. A recent mainstay in the Northeast with Beyond! and CZW this is his first real continental exposure. Last but certainly not least,
Vandal Ortagun, the Turkish-American with no friends in the locker room or in the ring is a mainstay in the Florida area, he's currently the FIP Florida Heritage champion, and is one of the more experienced wrestlers on the card with over 17 years of experience. Finally acknowledging his roots appears to have unlocked something new in Ortagun and MLW officials see big things for the Vandal.

As we wrapped up his recap on the Flagship, Bauer announced the official first card for MLW: The Return! {{{OOC}}}: So as I’ve been building up the ROH diary and "world", I’ve been taking inspiration from things that go on in the real world. Over the last year, I've subscribed to or watched in person EVOLVE, ROH, Impact, WWE, NXT and recently gotta into the MLW stuff thanks to Tony Schiavione’s involvement and the ease of being able to watch the shows on YouTube… huge 1990's WCW mark… As I progressed through the ROH diary I realized that MLW didn’t exist in my game world, so I added them in January 2019 and am building the roster out to be as close to the one they are running with in reality currently… You'll noticed some differences that can be accounted for by the lack of certain people being available... so if your a real MLW fan you'll notice no Colonel Robert Parker, but his stud stable is here. And if you love Sami Callihan, tough, Impact signed him to a written deal in game so the Death Machines are floating a bit on their own... plus Leon Scott didn't exist in game. From here, we will stand a bit alone and progressed starting with the Rebirth show, The Return.

It is also a way to create a bit more interaction within the ROH Universe that I’ve built up over the last year. This diary will not stop the ROH diary. Far from it, it will actually be more of a supplement and way for readers (if they are intrigued) to check in on another promotion that has some crossover and fits my focus. They have 16 events, and I’ll do recaps for them, but this diary will be more of a fun way to just peek behind the curtain… Full disclosure this will not be the primary diary, that will always remain the ROH one… but let’s give this a whirl! They'll will co-exist within the same timeframe and time-window. I may or may not run a formal prediction contest, though interaction is always welcomed. Beyond that, in this experimental diary, I may try new things or just scrap it all together if it begins to take away from the real focus, ROH. Regardless, ENJOY THE RIDE!

"Good Evening and welcome to Major League Wrestling: The Return"...

Tony and Rich welcome the audience to the return of Major League Wrestling, they highlight that these matches matter and that all the fighters in MLW are judged on their wins and losses, they hype that the promoters representing the various factions are all licensed to be Ringside by the Florida Wrestling Commission and promise that tonight will set the tone. They run down the card for the audience and mention that tonight the new Major League Wrestling Heavyweight Champion will be crowned in a Suicidal Six-Man where one fall wins it all!

With that, music hits and Bruce Pritchard makes his way out to the ringside area with a microphone. He says that he has something that's been bothering him recently, and while he's proud to have kept his name in the limelight on MLW Radio with Something to Wrestle with, he's ready to be in front of the camera again and he's brought with him the Stud Stable! He says tonight all four members will take part in matches and all of them will win... He introduces us to the first two members, his tag team entry, The Dirty Blondes, Leo Brien and Mike Patrick!

On commentary the announcers mention that these two represent Old School Rasslin, and will be a rough and tumble team in the style of the original Stud Stable of the 80's. Patrick and Brien make their way out to a round of boos.

Their opponents, Jason Cade and Jimmy Yuta are greeted with a big applause. Cade is well-known in the region for his run with EVOLVE and FIP, and the fans respect that. Yuta on the other hand is more of an unknown, but has a solid background that will impress.

The match that restarted MLW might not have been a barn-burner, but it was a high paced, fun match-up that got the crowd going. Yuta and Cade worked well together and used their pace to wear out their heavier opponents. Multiple times in the bout Promoter Bruce Pritchard called his men over for a strategy session, but in the end it wasn't enough as Yuta and Cade delivered a dual Go To Sleep finisher to finish off The Dirty Blondes.

Backstage we see the "Caramel Colossus",Barrington Hughes enjoying a huge bucket of fried chicken, his normal pre-match meal. He's about to dive into a big drum when suddenly, Teddy Hart, his opponent for tonight, and Brian Pillman Jr. enter the picture. Hart and Pillman tease Hughes about the meal, with Pillman sliding right next to Hughes and taking a bite out of the chicken drumstick that is in Hughes hand... Hart says that their is no chance Hughes will be able to keep up with this, lifting his shirt to reveal his chest muscles. Hughes seems unfazed as The New Hart Foundation walks off.

We head back to the ring where the announcers tell us that the next match features one of the some of the most recruited unaffiliated members of the MLW Roster. Out first is Kotto Brazil, Rich Swann and Shane Strickland. A team that is well-received by the crowd. While Swann and Strickland's reputations may be well known, Brazil is an unknown, Schiavone asks Striker in the back for a scouting report and we get a pop-up with Matt Striker discussing Kotto Brazil. He says that while Brazil may be on the smaller side he has a pedigree as a street-fighter who represents his Haitian heritage at all times. Striker mentions that he is looking for a breakout from Brazil this year and lets the audience know that Brazil was trained by Jay Lethal!

Out next is the team of Jimmy Havoc and The Death Machines (Brody King and Fulton). For most fans, Jimmy Havoc is a bit of a hardcore legend. The British, Havoc is the king of British death matches and he is bringing with him the monstrous Fulton and Brody King both of whom have a pedigree of strength and power and are covered in tattoos. Brody King tore up the SoCal scene before just this month making the jump to Ring of Honor. As for Fulton, he was an original member of Sanity in NXT and has finally broke free of those chains to be the true monster he intends to be.

This bout of six unaffiliated fighters got off to a bit of a slow start with Strickland and Havoc playing to the crowd but the pace quickened and immediately favored the team of Swann, Strickland and Brazil. Despite the size advantage, King and Fulton never really found a rhythm here and consistently found themselves grasping at air in an effort to catch the fast-paced high-fliers. Havoc tagged in and briefly took control, taking Brazil down to the mat, but Kotto managed to tag in his more experienced partners and the match swung back in their direction. The finishing sequencing saw Swann and Brazil each fly out of the ring with vintage WCW Tope Con Hilos to the floor taking out Fulton and King while Strickland isolated and took down Havoc for the victory...

The announcers hyped the crowd and told us that up next we'd see a battle between two men who have seen their star grow brighter thanks to this very network, YouTube! Joey Ryan, who has gotten over thanks to his childish antics and "strong lower-half" and a Joey Janela, who is perhaps more famous for taking a move off the roof of building into a pickup truck than his actual skills in the ring... Up next the two men set-out to prove they are more than one-trick ponies...

"The Bad Boy" Joey Janela made his way to ring legitimately smoking a cigarette and playing to the crowd. Meanwhile, Joey Ryan made his way to the ring sucking on a lollipop and well... looking like a rip-off 1980's pornstar. As the two of them squared off Schiavone pointed out the obvious dichotomy in both wrestlers experience and background. Throw all that out the window though because as soon as the bell rang both men set out to prove they weren't one trick ponies. Janela and Ryan engaged in a shockingly strategic bout. With both countering numerous attempts from the other. Joey Janela went for a low-blow with the referee distracted, but Ryan used that "strong lower-half" to avoid any real damage... Ryan turned around and went for the "Dick Flip" but Janela simply laughed in his face, flipped him off and hit a huge Bad Boy Stunner in the middle of the ring. As he stood over Ryan he bounced toward to the turnbuckle and hit a reverse slingshot double knee drop straight into Ryan's chest for the 1-2-3 and the victory...

We cut to backstage where a limousine has just pulled up to the Gilt Nightclub... the bouncer opens the door out steps Salina De La Renta, the promoter for Promociones Dorado. Stepping out behind here are her four clients, Ricky Martinez, Rey Fenix, Pentagon Jr., and Low-Ki. The announcers hype that this is the dream team and that Salina has established a stable of Latin American stars that will immediately challenge for supremacy here in MLW, starting tonight with Low-Ki fighting for the MLW Heavyweight Title.

Talk about contrasting styles. The Caramel Colossus, Barrington Hughes made his way down to the ring carrying all 485 pounds with him. Meanwhile, Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr. came down looking like a budget store grab-bag. Hart got into the ring and proceeded to do a couple flips and other "exotic" maneuvers... but as soon as the bell rang he went straight at Hughes... Hughes seemed unfazed and just body bumped Hart back into the corner... he hit the Chocolate Waterfall Splash in the corner, dumping Hart's body to the ground and then hit New Years' On South Beach for the easy 1-2-3... As the bell rang the announcers put over Hughes as a serious threat, they mention that Hart and Pillman really need to take things a bit more seriously.

Backstage "The Most Educated Man In Wrestling" Matt Striker is with Maxwell J. Friedman and Aria Blake. Striker asks MJF for his take on MLW and this leads into a tangent about how this is a stepping stone to bigger and better things. He says that the matchmakers clearly overlooked the 22-year old prodigy and that "(His) name is Maxwell J. Friedman, and I'm Better Than You..." Before he can continue Myron Reed steps up and says "The only 22-year old that was forgotten on the card tonight is me..." Reed and MJF go nose to nose before Aria Blake steps up and pulls MJF away. Striker sends it back to the ring...

Up next we have Bruce Pritchard's Stud Stable making their way down to support their enforcer, Mike Parrow. The Dirty Blondes took a loss to open the show but look no worse for wear and they make their way out now. Pritchard is of course with them, but Jake Hager stays behind, clearly preparing for the main event. Out next is Team Filthy led by Tom Lawlor. Fred Yehi is out next with "The Prizefighter" Simon Gotch pulling up the rear. All three men are dressed in custom Reebok "UFC" style jumpers as they enter the ring. The corner is set-up and the ring announcer makes his introductions...

As this one gets underway it becomes clear that this is a feud that will be worth following here in MLW. Parrow and Gotch square off and go toe to toe in a boxing style match for the first couple minutes before Parrow manages to back Gotch into the Team Filthy corner. Lawlor hops up on the apron, and this prompts Parrow to swing at him, which leads to Yehi getting involved... and subsequently the Dirty Blondes sliding over as well. Suddenly all six men are brawling and the referee loses all control and calls for the bell... This one is a NO CONTEST... Before the all-out brawl gets too out of hand, Bruce Pritchard calls his faction off and they back out of the ring. Saving this fight for another day.

Salina de la Renta's Promociones Dorado make their first in-ring appearance in MLW with this one, Penta and Fenix make their way down to the ring with their beautiful, yet lethal, promoter right by their side. They get in the ring and de la Renta cuts a brief promo saying that the quest for gold begins tonight and the road to El Dorado is to be paved in the blood of those who stand in her way.

Rhett Giddins is out next, Giddins is a gifted athlete from New York who stands an easy 6'5" and weighs 250 but carries that weight extremely well. He trained in Orlando and is locally known as "The Freak" for his skills of athleticism... He is represented by Black Friday Management and their mysterious promoter but his partner is not... at least next...

Out comes LA Park, dancing and shimmying like he always has. The former "Chairman of WCW" as Schavione points out, is now the "Chairman of MLW" and though he's in his 50's now, LA Park can still go and still impresses all who watch him... Giddins waits for him at ringside, but LA Park struts right into the ring and begins dancing.

The bell rings and Penta goes right after LA Park... It's clear that the experience as a team for the Lucha Bros pays off as they dominate the first half of the match. Giddins manages to get himself into the match and shows off some strength and speed that will potentially make him one to watch in the future. Despite the size advantage, The Lucha Bros never seemed phased though and they took control of the bout and ultimately Penta hits Fear Factor on Giddins to secure the victory. LA Park after his initial interest in the match spent much of his time dancing and shimmying at ringside and had no interest in tagging in or helping Giddins late. The announcers speculate if this was potentially a set-up by Promociones Dorado.

Winners: The Lucha Bros

Post-Match: Rich Bocchini says that he's just heard from the back that next month The Lucha Bros will face Rich Swann and Shane Strickland in a bout that is sure to tear the house down!!!

ACH vs. Fred Yehi vs. Jake Hager vs. John Hennigan vs. Low Ki vs. Vandal Ortagun

Black Friday Management's ACH is the first man out to the ring, ACH has long been a fan favorite and has recently been a strong performer in both EVOLVE and AAW. Despite all of his successes in the ring, ACH has never really held a major singles championship in even a cult promotion. He's certainly an underdog here. Out next is Team Filthy's Fred Yehi, Yehi is accompanied by Lawlor and Gotch to the ring but they are asked to head to the back before the match begins. Yehi has been on quite the run in the last year including becoming a mainstay in the Florida area and recently making his debut with Ring of Honor. Here in MLW they are playing up his ability to counter anything. And while he's a star mat-wrestler, his lack of size may hinder him here. Out next is Jake Hager, "The Stud" of the Stud Stable, and he is accompanied by Bruce Pritchard who is also asked to leave prior to the match. Hager is a former WWE Champion and recently has been tearing it up in Lucha Underground. The fans instantly recognize him and love to boo him. Up next is the man everyone is waiting for, "Mr. Worldwide" John Hennigan. The megastar known all over the world. He's currently working for Lucha Underground, IMPACT! Wrestling (where he is a tag-team champion with Sonjay Dutt), Aro Lucha and AAA. He's literally everywhere and tonight he's the odds-on favorite to win the title! Out next is Low Ki, he is unaccompanied, and looks to be on a mission. Low Ki has had a major resurgence with Ring of Honor and is currently the ROH Tag Champion with Jay Lethal. Here he is an assassin on the mission and hits the ring with his usual seriousness. Last but not least is Vandal Ortagun. Ortagun is certainly a darkhorse here, the Turkish-American fighter has a boat-load of experience but only recently has become a threat as he's embraced a darker side. Schiavone puts over all six men and says that Hennigan is his pick. Bocchini makes his pick and goes with a sleeper, ACH. Matt Striker, in the back, chimes in that he's going with The Stud Stable and Jake Hager.

The bell rings and all six men pair off and begin to brawl. The announcers point out that this is a Suicidal Six Way meaning one-fall wins it all meaning that to win you really need to get four men out of the picture and then knock out and pin another. The pairs of fighters at the beginning are Yehi and Hager, Ortagun and ACH and Low-Ki and Hennigan. We get a split-screen to the back where we see the various promoters watching their fighters. Yehi and Hager's factions clearly have no love loss as their men tie-up and take centerstage. Hager overpowers Yehi but "The Man of 1000 Counters" manages to drop-toe hold Hager and send him from the ring... Yehi then regains his footing and takes a dive over the top rope... The action continues to go and Hennigan and Low-Ki are exchanging chops much to the "Woo'ing" crowds delight. Ortagun and ACH meanwhile have stumbled out to the ringside area as well. This leads to Hennigan pushing away from Low-Ki, climbing the turnbuckle and soaring out of the ring... Next thing you know all six men are at ringside. This goes on for a bit with Ortagun absorbing a ton of damage.

As we get toward the middle of the match we have the first pinfall attempt as Hager hit an Olympic Slam on ACH and made the cover.

Low-Ki breaks in up with kick square to Hager's chest sending Hager out of the ring... Ortagun rolls Low-Ki up from behind.

Low-Ki kicks out right away and mounts a comeback forcing Ortagun to retreat.

Yehi is back in the ring and goes right at Low-Ki, but Low-Ki moves and tosses Yehi into Ortagun. With Low-Ki focused on the two men in the corner, Hennigan slides back in and drops Low-Ki from behind, tossing him into the corner with the others... but before Hennigan can take advantage, Hager runs at full-steam into Hennigan, crushing him and the three men in the corner at once... but with Hager's back turned here is ACH with a quick roll-up.

Hager powers out. ACH goes for a quick kick, but Hager catches him and locks in an Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring, the other four men are still out in the corner...

ACH is going to tap, he's going to have no choice... Low-Ki has gotten up and drops Hager from behind. Seeing the opportunity, Low-Ki locks the Dragon Clutch in on ACH. ACH is out cold and the referee is about to call for the bell but Vandal Ortagun connects with Low-Ki from behind... seeing his opportunity, Ortagun covers ACH... What an upset this would be...

Fred Yehi breaks it up... Koji Clutch applied to Vandal Ortagun.

But this is met with a flying wheel kick from John Hennigan... that sends both Hennigan and Yehi to the floor. On the way out of the ring they clip Hager taking him down as well...

On the other corner Low Ki is up on the turnbuckle....

Jake Hager is livid, John Hennigan shakes it off and Fred Yehi is still standing at ringside. ACH is still out on one side of the ring and Ortagun is out cold...

Confetti falls as Salina de la Renta makes her way down down to the ring with Ricky Martinez, Penta and Fenix and they all celebrate as Low Ki is crowned the first champion.

Really good 1st show imo setting up a story or 2 and crowning our world champ. Even though I said Hennigan I'm pleased Low Ki won because I love him and La Renta IRL even if Ki is a little difficult IRL

But when I went to find them in game when I started up in the ROH diary I found out that Parrow wasn't in the DB... Hence why I brought in Hammerstone (plus Odinson/Hammerstone make sense to me). Fast forward 14 months game time, I imported Parrow a couple months back and when I decided to add a new company to the universe MLW was the clear choice and bam, there is Parrow. I'm not sure if Odinson will head to MLW yet, but I am seriously considering Parrow appearing in the ROH diary in the future. Joey Ryan vs. Vandal Ortagun Another bout featuring two fighters looking to get on the right track. Major League Wrestling: Spring Break

Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini welcome you ringside for our second major event, one that is bound to blow the roof off here in Orlando! And without further adieu, let's head to the ring...

Rich Swann and Shane Strickland vs. The Lucha Bros, Presented by Salina De La Renta

Pentagon Jr and his brother Fenix are proudly presented by the mysterious and devious Salina De La Renta and tonight they fought the high-flying and death-defying team of Shane Strickland and Rich Swann. At MLW Returns both teams took home a victory and tonight both were within an inch of doing the same in a bout that set the standard for what the future of MLW Wrestling will be, but in the end it was Pentagon Jr and Fenix taking home the victory as the chemistry between the Lucha Bros was too much to overcome and Pentagon covered Swann for the victory.

Winners: The Lucha Bros

Post-Match as all four men stood in the ring, MLW CEO Court Bauer made his way out to ringside and announced that MLW will be crowning its first ever TAG TEAM champions over the next two shows and these two teams are the top two contenders!

LA Park vs. Rhett Giddins

Coming off a big win, promotor Salina De La Renta stayed at ringside to observe the next match as LA Park made his way out. His opponent tonight, "The Freak" Rhett Giddins stands 6'5" and 250 pounds. These two were partners last month against The Lucha Bros. In that time Rhett Giddins has officially become a member of Black Friday Management, while LA Park, the wily vet has been attempting to prove his worth to Miss De La Renta. In the match itself, Giddins speed and agility proved too much for LA Park as he Giddins took home the victory via a huge top rope Dropkick, but his celebration was short-lived as LA Park grabbed a chair and knocked him out from behind before strutting and dancing his way up the aisle to a vintage applause.

Winner: Rhett Giddins

Backstage, Matt Striker caught up with MJF and his business associate/...umm...."buddy", Aria Blake. MJF told Striker that he was better than everyone here in MLW and tonight he'd further prove that by destroying the young, brash and cocky Myron Reed... Striker sent it back to ringside commenting that MJF seemed to be describing himself...

Kotto Brazil vs. Ricky Martinez, presented by Salina De La Renta

Salina De La Renta was back again this time presenting Ricky Martinez, his opponent was the young and athletic Haitian Kotto Brazil. Brazil is an unaffiliated fighter, but after last months performance he's absolutely on the radar of multiple promoters. In this bout Brazil once again proved his worth as he defeated the Human Pitbull Martinez in a tightly contested bout.

Winner: Kotto Brazil

But Brazil cannot enjoy his victory for long as suddenly two masked women jumped the barrier and attack him. Both hit a number of a painful looking suplexes and drivers and leave Kotto out cold in the middle of the ring. Tony

Schiavone on commentary says that he is getting word that MLW officials have received a message that these two women are members of the "Kudokushi Death Squad" and they are here in MLW for redemption... whatever that may mean...

Maxwell Jacob Friedman vs. Myron Reed

Back in the ring MJF is set to take on Black Friday Management's Myron Reed. The announcers hype that Black Friday Management was reportedly scouting Kotto Brazil and had a successful victory with Rhett Giddins earlier. But in this one MJF and his manager/ally/lover?!? Aria Blake proved too much for Myron Reed as MJF hit the 1% Driver on Reed and took home a shockingly clean victory.

Winner: MJF

We go to a pre-recorded interview with Matt Striker sitting down with Salina De La Renta and MLW's World Champion, Low-Ki. De La Renta starts to say how it is ridiculous that a man like Low-Ki has to defend already but Low-Ki cuts her off and makes it clear that the Hitman is here to both fight and kill all of the competition and tonight that competition is one John Hennigan. Low-Ki cracks that Hennigan couldn't come up with a good moniker for this one and after tonight Hennigan will be stuck to the bottom of the barrel.

Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor, Fred Yehi, Simon Gotch) vs. The Stub Stable (Dirty Blondes and Mike Parrow)

This one was a standard six-man stable battle as all six men go their shots in. Tom Lawlor, leading a stable of submission and striking type fighters against Bruce Pritchard's brawling stable was a fun balance but in the end Tom Lawlor's mat-based submission game was too much as he managed to make Mike Patrick submit in the middle of the ring...

Winners: Team Filthy

Post-match, Tom Lawlor held nothing back as he called out Jake Hager for being an imposter and a fake fighter. He said he wanted him one on one and Court Bauer was going to grant that fight for Walemania or Tom Lawlor AND his Team were heading elsewhere...

Joey Ryan vs. Vandal Ortagun

Joey Ryan took a disappointing loss to Joey Janela in our debut, while the pride of Turkey, Vandal Ortagun was on the losing side of the MLW Heavyweight six-man as Low-Ki covered him to win the title and was looking to re-establish himself here... This one was more of a story-teller as both men hit some signature spots but in the end it was Joey Ryan getting the victory with a successful... albeit disgusting... dick flip for the 1-2-3...

Winner: Joey Ryan

Post-match we got a promo from Joey Ryan's opponent at our debut show, "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela. Janela says he's sorry he couldn't make it to Orlando for tonight's show... but nothing changes, he's setting out to prove he is the MAN... and at Walemania he wants to face a guy who has been given everything... that man is .... ACH...

Low-Ki {C} Presented by Salina De La Renta vs. John Hennigan

MLW officials determined that Hennigan had the best showing of the non-winners last month and granted him an immediate title shot, much to the displeasure of Promociones Dorado but the Hitman, Low-Ki, will never back down from a fight and he and Hennigan came out flying here. Ultimately this match was a solid back and forth bout that frankly wound-up disappointing hardcore fans but impressing the casual fans who were tuning in just to see some names they knew... Let's hand it over to Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini for the final call...

Tony: Low-Ki whips Hennigan into the corner with force... Hennigans head just snapped back as he hit the corner and he has stumbled down and into the middle of the ring....

Rich: Low-Ki wasting no time has leapt to the top, Tony you know what this is...

Black Friday Management's "Caramel Colossus" Barrington Hughes and "The Freak" Rhett Giddins weigh-in at a daunting 700 pounds, whomever their mysterious investor is, these boys clearly don't go without lavish spreads. Their opponents, The Stud Stable's Dirty Blondes are just sloppy, down south Florida Crackers. In this one Hughes and Giddins showed solid chemistry and the finish saw Giddins connect with the top-rope Dropkick and Hughes follow it up with the huge splash.

The speed of Swann and Strickland was far too much for the hulking Death Machines, and despite presenting a tough face they weren't able to muster a ton of offense here against two of the top stars in MLW. Swann and Strickland worked well together in their bounce back from last months main event loss to the Lucha Bros. With this win they are now a step away from potentially facing off with the Lucha Bros with the titles on the line!

Post-Match, Jimmy Havoc slides into the ring with a chair and immediately starts berating the Death Machines for failing him and not show the hardcore fight that he craves. He orders both of them to their knees and they delivers stiff chair shots to both... Before he finishes he asks them if they've learned their lesson, Fulton says he has and King snarls but reluctantly seems to agree.

Cade and Yuta both have bright futures, but this one was never in doubt. The Lucha Brothers cruised through their first round match-up with Pentagon hitting the Fear Factory for the victory... Salina De La Renta looked thrilled with the result and celebrated in the ring with her team post-match

While the celebration was wrapping up John Hennigan met up backstage with Matt Striker. He told Striker that Low-Ki was lucky last month and when, not if, he gets his rematch it'll end differently for Low-Ki and it'll end with the "True Survivor" standing tall in the ring, draped in gold.

The unaffiliated Kotto Brazil continued to be scouted by Black Friday Management and in the tournament he was paired with Myron Reed who is viewed as the "Top Prospect" in the BFM Stable. Brazil truly has impressed MLW officials and this one was no different. He showed a seamless blend of high-flying and daredevil maneuvers that worked seamlessly with his partner Reed and together they shocked the crowd with a number of moves... On the other hand though we had the in-ring debut of Brian Pillman Jr, and let's just say that while he's green, he seems to have "it" and he impressed the crowd. His partner, "The Wild Card" Teddy Hart did his typical insane flippy stuff, but he approached this match much more seriously than last months encounter with Barrington Hughes and Teddy hit the 630 Splash on Myron Reed for the semi-upset victory...

Just like last month, Kotto Brazil was targeted post-match by the utterly mysterious Kudokushi Death Squad, his partner Myron Reed was caught as well and took the mist straight to the face as well but he managed to roll out of the ring and fled to the back... Meanwhile Brazil was left alone in the ring and took a number of suplexes and drivers from the Kudokushi Death Squad...

...On commentary Tony informs us that these two women have been identified as Su Yung and Zeda Zhang but that MLW Officials have no idea what they are doing here and haven't issued fight licenses to either of them.

This one was booked after Joey Janela called out ACH for being gifted everything. "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela rightly pointed out that he "Has more followers, and a bigger name on the market than ACH" but didn't get the opportunity at the title in our first show, rather he was forced to face Joey Ryan on the undercard. Out to prove his strength in the ring and not just on the OMG Sheets, Janela took the fight to ACH and scored the pinfall victory squarely in the middle of the ring.

Backstage we see Team Filthy arriving to the venue. Simon Gotch shoves the cameraman out of the way to make way for Tom Lawlor's arrival and promises that tonight Lawlor will walk out victorious.

Our main event starts a bit slow with both men feeling each other out before it turns into an amateur wrestling style bout with a lot of ground and pound. Lawlor's more extensive MMA background gave him the upper hand once they got to the ground, but Hager's professional wrestling background gave him the ability to more effectively use the ring and his strength/size difference swung things in his direction. Gotch and Yehi tried to get involved by the Dirty Blondes and Mike Parrow kept them at bay. Back in the middle of the ring Hager and Lawlor exchanged headlocks when suddenly Hager hit a chop block and locked the ankle lock on for the victory in what turned into one of our best bouts that didn't involve Pentagon/Fenix.

As the bell rings both stables jump into the ring and as the brawl starts Tony Schiavone yells his trademark, "We are desperately out of time!!!"
