“There’s tension in the air tonight here in Jacksonville, Florida! Welcome to Monday Night RAW! I’m Vince McMahon here with the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and tonight we’re going to see if Lex Luger and Tatanka can put their differences aside as they’ll take on Bam Bam Bigelow and Irwin R. Schyster!”

“Ooooh yeah, can you feel it Vince McMahon? I know Lex Luger, and I know Tatanka, and there’s no doubt in my mind they’ll do what it takes to knock off Bam Bam and I.R.S.!”

“We also have Razor Ramon in action against the big man from Kona, Hawaii, Crush!”

“Razor Ramon is in a foul mood tonight and there’s always tension in the air when Crush is in the building!”

“That’s right, but first, let’s take you to the ring for some tag team action as the Smoking Gunns will take on Kwang and Adam Bomb!”

wwfsmallgray.png

RAW940703-1.png

Six-shooters ring out as the Smoking Gunns make their way to the ring, slapping the cheering fans hands as they walk down the aisle. They fire blanks out of their pistols and rile up the crowd before a nuclear bomb explosion booms in the arena.

Adam Bomb and Kwang emerge from the curtain with Bomb looking intense and pointing towards the Gunns who circle the inside of the ring.

“It looks to me that Harvey Wippleman has re-focused his two clients on the enemy instead of each other,” comments Vince.

Bomb and Kwang climb in the ring and a brawl ensues between the four men as the bell rings.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, The Smoking Gunns defeated Adam Bomb and Kwang in 8:13 when Billy Gunn defeated Adam Bomb by pinfall with a fast roll up.

Comments: Adam Bomb and Kwang actually showed some good teamwork to start the match. The Smoking Gunns had a difficult time handling the power of Adam Bomb, but after Kwang accidentally spit red mist in the face of Bomb once again, the Billy Gunn would roll him up for the win. Adam Bomb and the Smoking Gunns performed well in the match but it just doesn't look like the crowd is buying into the Bomb v. Kwang feud.

MATCH RATING: 43 D

wwfsmallgray.png

RAW940703-2.png

Bomb wipes the red mist from his eyes with his gloved hands and shouts at Kwang and Harvey Wippleman. In the heat of the moment, Wippleman gets too big for his britches and smacks an infuriated Adam Bomb across the face.

“Adam Bomb is definitely seeing red, McMahon!” adds Savage.

With an intense wide-eyed stare bomb grabs Harvey Wippleman by his tie but Kwang nails him in the back of the head with a rolling martial arts kick to save his manager.

Kwang lays the boots to Adam Bomb who lays prone on the mat before he and Wippleman make a quick exit. Bomb climbs back to his feet, leans over the ropes, and points to them in the aisle shouting at his two former colleagues as we go to commercial.

SEGMENT RATING: 63 C

RAW940703-3.png

As we return from commercial, Bam Bam Bigelow and Irwin R. Schuster stand in the ring as I.R.S. taunts the tax cheats in Jacksonville. Ted DiBiase approaches the announce table.

Lex Luger’s music hits and he gets a strong pop from the crowd.

“We’re right back to the action! Here comes Lex Luger! Will he and Tatanka be able to co-exist or will we see more dissention drive these two superstars apart?”

“Lex Luger and Tatanka are too smart to repeat what we just saw, McMahon!” replies Savage.

As Luger climbs into the ring and flexes on the second rope in the corner, Tatanka’s war cry rings out throughout the arena and he runs down to the ring, slapping the fans hands before sliding into the squared circle. He circles the ring as the referee holds Bam Bam and I.R.S. back.

“It looks like we're going to be joined by the ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase.”

“The pleasure is all yours, McMahon.”

Luger and Tatanka argue about who will start the match, before Lex begrudgingly steps out of the ropes.

“Can you feel the strain between these two, McMahon? Lex Luger is going to be a very rich man, soon. Tatanka knows it. Jack Tunney knows it. And Lex definitely knows it. Hahahahaha!” taunts DiBiase.

Tatanka and Bigelow lock up to start the match.

In a decent match, Lex Luger and Tatanka defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and Irwin R. Schyster in 12:01 when Lex Luger defeated Irwin R. Schyster by pinfall.

Comments: Lex Luger and Tatanka were nearly able to co-exist in this match without adding to the building tension between them. Luger and Tatanka would have the upper hand for much of the match but the referee would eventually lose control with all four brawling in the ring. Looking to hit anything that moves, Luger would knock Bigelow out of the ring before getting overzealous and knocking Tatanka through the ropes with a forearm to the back. As he leaned over the ropes to check on Tatanka, I.R.S. would see a window of opportunity, bounce off the ropes and attempt the Write Off but Luger would duck under the maneuver and nail I.R.S. with his forearm before securing the pinfall.

Luger celebrates in the ring while the other three men recover.

"Take a good look at Luger, McMahon. Soon, he's going to be mine," DiBiase says, appreciating and applauding Luger's performance.

We return from commercial with a shot of Vince McMahon and Randy Savage sitting at the announce table preparing for a remote video interview with Bret Hart.

“Last week, Bret Hart fell victim to a heinous attack from Owen Hart and Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart.”

Highlights are shown as Vince breaks down the action before we see a shot of Bret Hart sitting on his couch with crutches leaning to his sides.

“Right now we’re joined by the Hitman who is resting at home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Bret, everyone wants to know, how are you feeling?”

“I’d be lying if I told you I felt good, Vince,” responds ‘The Hitman.’ “I can’t walk but that’s nothing compared to how I feel after my own flesh and blood tried to end my career last week.”

“What are the doctors telling you? When will you be back in the ring?”

“I don’t know, Vince. But you can be rest assured that I’m going to be back as soon as I can, and I’m coming back with a fire burning inside me. Owen, you’ve taken this way too far! It’s one thing to try and prove you’re the better wrestler, but you tried to take away my livelihood! This isn’t about a sibling rivalry anymore. No, now you’re a target and I’ve got you in the crosshairs! When I come back, whenever that may be, prepare to be excellently executed!”

“There you have it folks. Best of luck in your recovery Bret” says Vince.

“Get well soon, Hitman!” encourages Savage.

“Let’s go backstage where Todd Pettengill is standing by with Lex Luger.

Todd Pettengill stands in the locker room next to Lex Luger.

“Lex, what a big victory out there tonight…”

Before Pettengill can even finish his first question Tatanka storms in the room.

Tatanka throws accusations at Luger and the two begin shoving each other. The tension erupts into a full-on brawl as Luger and Tatanka roll around on the floor of the locker room exchanging blows before several face superstars attempt to break up the melee.

SEGMENT RATING: 76 B-

RAW940703-6.png

We return from a Slim Jim commercial with Crush making his way down to the ring with Mr. Fuji for tonight’s main event as a ring girl circles with a sign that says, ‘WE LIKE IT RAW’.

“It’s non-stop action here tonight on Monday Night RAW!” shouts Vince.

“I don’t know if I can take much more of this, McMahon!” yells Savage.

The tires screech and Razor Ramon’s theme music hits as he steps out of the curtain. The fans cheer loudly as he glides his way down to the ring where Crush wrings his hands together. The lights dim and Razor does his ‘Bad Guy’ taunt before handing his gold off to the ring announcer and removes his vest. Crush and Razor meet in the middle of the ring where Razor tosses his toothpick in Crush's face.

They lock up and we’re underway.

In a decent match, Razor Ramon defeated Crush in 14:36 when Crush was disqualified when Diesel ran in and attacked Razor Ramon.

Comments: This match went back and forth with both men showing off their strength. Razor would gain the advantage but as he signaled for the Razor's Edge, Shawn Michaels would hop the barrier at ringside and jump on the apron, distracting 'The Bad Guy' while Diesel, who hopped the barrier on the opposite side of the ring climbed up the apron and stepped over the top rope.

Razor would nail Michaels with a punch, sending him sprawling to the apron and to the floor but when he turned to look for his opponent, he was met with a big boot from Diesel as the referee called for the bell.

MATCH RATING: 75 B-

wwfsmallgray.png

RAW940703-7.png

Diesel and Michaels continue to stomp on Razor in the middle of the ring. Crush, still fuming from the loss joins in. They begin to pull Razor to his feet and as Michaels sets up for a superkick, Lex Luger sprints down the aisle from the back!

Luger decks Michaels before getting his hands on Crush.

“It looks like Luger still has some unfinished business with Crush!” shouts Vince.

Luger and Crush brawl but Diesel nails Luger with a double axe handle. Luger is tossed from the ring and Crush hops to the outside to continue their brawl to the back.”

Meanwhile in the ring, Diesel and Michaels continue to double-team Razor and Diesel holds Razor up allowing Michaels to nail Razor with a superkick.

“These guys are out of control, McMahon!” shouts Savage.

Michaels hops out of the ring, shoves a member of the Spanish announce team off his chair, folds it and slides it in the ring.

Diesel pulls a limp-bodied Razor to his feet and sets him up for a Jackknife Powerbomb.

"He's going to Jackknife him on the steel chair!" Vince shouts.

“I’ve seen enough of this!” yells Savage.

“Wait! Where are you going?” shouts Vince.

The crowd goes nuts as Randy Savage climbs the turnbuckle and knocks Diesel to one knee with a double axe handle off the top. Savage nails Michaels with a lariat and as Diesel gets back to his feet Savage nails him in the back with a high knee sending Diesel through the ropes and to the outside!

“Macho Man is cleaning house!”

Savage ducks a clothesline from Michaels and scoop slams him to the mat. The crowd goes wild as he climbs through the ropes then scales to the top, circling a finger in the air.

Before Savage can nail Michaels with his signature flying elbow, Diesel’s bodyguard instincts kick in and he reaches under the bottom rope and slides Michaels out of the ring. He helps Michaels to the back as Razor and Savage work the crowd as we go off the air.

SEGMENT RATING: 87 B+

“The heat continues to rise as we’re just over a month away from SummerSlam! Welcome, everyone, to Monday Night RAW! Vince McMahon here with ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage…”

“The pressure is rising, Vince, and if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kit-chen! Oooh yeah!”

Jeff Jarrett’s country waltz hits and he slowly struts his way down the aisle in a colorful unitard, his cowboy hat, and flashing sunglasses. After getting in the ring the lights dim and he struts around, reveling in the boos from the crowd.

“One! Two! Three!” The 1-2-3 Kid’s music hits and he jogs down to the ring, slapping hands with the fans before hopping on the ring apron and leaping over the top rope. He steps towards Jarrett in a martial arts stance but Jarrett ducks in between the top and middle ropes as the referee backs off the 1-2-3 Kid.

The bell rings and the two talented wrestlers circle each other before locking up.

“We’re looking at a rematch from the King of the Ring, folks where the 1-2-3 Kid scored a pinfall over Double J, who took exception and battered him after the match, likely costing him a legitimate shot at winning the tournament!”

“He’s a sore loser McMahon, that's for sure! He proved that at the King of the Ring!”

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Jeff Jarrett defeated 1-2-3 Kid in 10:47 by pinfall with a handful of tights.

Comments: Jarrett and the 1-2-3 Kid started things off with an intense, back-and-forth match with the intention of working the crowd. The 1-2-3 Kid hit some exciting spots but ultimately Jarrett would score a tainted victory by pinning the Kid with a handful of tights.

We return from commercial where Vince McMahon stands in the ring.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is by request of WWF President Jack Tunney, that I call two men to the ring who have overstepped the bounds of competition and sportsmanship. Please welcome, ‘Big Daddy Cool’ Diesel and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels.

The big diesel horn blares and the engine rumbles as Diesel and Shawn Michaels make their way down to the ring looking as cocky as ever. Mostly boos rang out through the crowd as they continue their slow walk down the aisle. After entering the squared circle, the spotlights shine on Diesel, who raises his gloved fist in the air, and Michaels who flexes in front of him.

“Gentlemen, last week…”

Diesel grabs the microphone from Vince.

“Hold it right there, McMahon. I’m the Intercontinental Champion and I’ll tell you when I’m ready to hear what you have to say…”

Diesel goes on to taunt Razor Ramon.

“Did I need to attack Razor Ramon last week? No. Did he deserve the beating he got? Absolutely. Razor, you’ve been barking up the wrong tree. I’ve got you in the headlights, I’m revving my engine, and I’ve got the pedal to the metal headed right for you! I’m always ready for a fight, Bad Guy, but you’ve already proven you’re not worthy of holding this title.”

Diesel hands the mic over to Shawn Michaels.

“Razor Ramon, if you think you can challenge the baddest man in the World Wrestling Federation and be handed a title shot, you’ve got another thing coming! You can take a number and head to the back of the line, because you blew your chance. I've got news for you 'Bad Guy,' ‘Big Daddy Cool’ has his eyes set on bigger and better things and he’s going straight to the top. You’re looking at the next big thing! Your star has faded. Just like the star of the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.”

Michaels approaches the ropes and looks down at the Macho Man.

“I know you’re not talking to me!” responds Savage as he stands up from his chair.

“You’re no spring chicken, Savage. I’m going to give you a free pass, since your mind is likely starting to go in your old age. But you better tread lightly, you old fossil, before we put you out to pasture once and for all.”

Macho Man pulls off his headset and begins to approach the ring while Michaels hands the microphone to Vince and taunts Savage to join them in the ring.

“Now wait, just a minute!” shouts Vince. “Hold it right there. I have a statement to read from WWF President Jack Tunney.”

Michaels chomps on his gum while Diesel stares with a smug look on his face.

“It reads: The actions of Diesel and Shawn Michaels over the last several weeks have been disgraceful, unacceptable, and not appropriate for any World Wrestling Federation superstar and certainly not a WWF championship title holder.”

Michaels rolls his eyes and motions for Vince to get on with it.

“Because of this, I have awarded Razor Ramon a match next Monday Night on RAW…against Shawn Michaels.”

Michaels throws a small tantrum before Diesel calms him down.

“Furthermore, should Razor Ramon win that match. He will become the number one contender for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and earn a title shot at SummerSlam.”

The crowd cheers loudly as Diesel begins to show signs of aggression, but Michaels calms him down.

“That’s fine, McMahon. You can tell Tunney…”

“I’m not finished.”

The fans pop a bit as Michaels is interrupted and continues his over-the-top tantrum.

“If Razor Ramon wins his match on Monday Night RAW, he will head to SummerSlam to face an opponent that has yet to be determined as Diesel must defend his Intercontinental Title tonight…AGAINST ‘MACHO MAN’ RANDY SAVAGE!”

Diesel and Michaels are fuming!

“Ooooh yeah! Thank you, Jack Tunney! Can you feel it? Diesel, I’m coming for you! Dig it!”

Jim Ross joins Vince McMahon for commentary as Randy Savage has gone to the locker room to prepare for his just-announced Intercontinental Title Match.

“Bam! Bam!” Bam Bam Bigelow’s theme music hits as he slowly makes his way down the aisle with Ted DiBiase alongside. Bigelow tells the crowd to “shut up” while DiBiase laughs, confident in his client.”

As Bigelow runs back and forth between the ring ropes, the hip hop beats of Men on a Mission’s theme hit and Mo dances his way down to the ring with Oscar rapping as he leads the way. They wave their arms in the air in the ring as the crowd continues to cheer.

As the lights come on, Bigelow nails Mo from behind and stomps him on the mat as the bell rings.

In a decent match, Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Mo in 5:50 by pinfall.

Comments: This one was a short but solid contest for the two big men.

Mo would never really get much momentum after being attacked before the bell and Bam Bam Bigelow would hit a headbutt off the top rope to secure the victory.

We return to the arena where Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler stands in the middle of a red carpet adorned ring. After insulting the crowd, Lawler brings out his guests on ‘The King’s Court.’

“I know they’re probably not bright enough to make their way down here without their horses leading the way, but we’ll give it a shot. Please welcome, The Smoking Gunns.”

Billy and Bart Gunn make their way down to the ring in their cowboy hats and long overcoats, high fiving the cheering fans as they approach. Lawler stops them before they climb in the ring.

“Why don’t you two show a little bit of respect and take off those filthy cowboy boots before you step in the ring?”

The Gunns ignore the request. Lawler interviews the Gunns about their recent tag team success before cutting to the chase.

“Let’s get to the real reason why you two are out here tonight. Please welcome ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase!”

“Money, money, money, money!” DiBiase’s theme hits and he emerges from the back, counting a big wad of greenbacks as he laughs on the way to the ring. DiBiase steps through the ropes and begins to proposition the Gunns.

“I’m sure you boys have noticed, the Million Dollar Corporation is growing by the week. How would you boys like to ditch those filthy dusters of yours and get fitted for some nice suits. How much is it going to take? Name your price.”

DiBiase begins to count out the cash in front of them. The Smoking Gunns look at each other, turn and discuss before giving DiBiase their answer.

Billy Gunn speaks up first, “Mr. DiBiase, a true cowboy knows love, pain, and shame, but never needs fame.”

Bart Gunn adds, “We don’t want your money.”

They exit the ring as DiBiase chastises them.

“You boys are making the biggest mistake of your life! I'll own you soon! Everybody’s got a price! Hahahahaha!”

“There you have it. It looks like DiBiase’s dollar isn’t so mighty after all,” says Jim Ross.

“Ladies and gentlemen, up next, the “Macho Man” Randy Savage! Diesel! For the Intercontinental Title! Don’t go away!”

The diesel engine rumbles and the horn blares for the second time tonight as Diesel makes his way down to the ring with Michaels leading the way. Diesel looks much calmer this time around as he tightens the leather glove on his right fist then climbs the apron, stepping over the top rope. He holds his fist high in the air to a chorus of boos.

The crowd waits in anticipation as the tension builds then erupts as “Pomp and Circumstance” hits and they erupt. Macho Man spins his way down the aisle riling up the crowd before slapping fans hands on the outside of the ring.

“They’re going crazy for the Macho Man here tonight! They want a new Intercontinental Champion!” shouts Vince.

He fakes a punch towards Michaels who bolts away before standing on the ring apron with his arms wide then turning and pointing toward Diesel.

Macho Man takes off his glasses, hat, and tassled jacket as the bell rings. Savage taunts Diesel and spins a finger in the air again getting another pop from the crowd.

In a good match, Randy Savage defeated Diesel in 15:02 when Diesel was disqualified when Shawn Michaels ran in and attacked Randy Savage.

Comments: Diesel manhandled the Macho Man for much of this one but Savage kept fighting back for more. Using his expertise and even some slightly dirty tactics, Savage would gain the upper hand and climb the top rope looking to hit his signature flying elbow. Shawn Michaels would prevent this by grabbing Savage's ankle, sending him crashing to the mat below causing the disqualification but retaining the Intercontinental Title for Diesel.

Michaels lays the boots to Savage while Diesel makes his way to his feet but Savage holds his own nailing both Diesel and Michaels with strong rights. Diesel floors Savage with a kidney shot but the crowd erupts as Razor Ramon sprints from the back. Razor tosses Michaels over the top rope before he begins exchanging blows with Diesel and eventually knocking him over the top rope.

The crowd goes wild as Razor and Macho get the upper hand again and celebrate, Razor pointing his thumbs to his chest and Macho Man standing on the second rope in the corner motioning for Diesel and Michaels to bring it on as we go off the air.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some interesting tidbit's from Dave Meltzer in his 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter'...

The World Wrestling Federation has extended their international reach as they will broadcast SummerSlam to a larger audience than ever after signing pay-per-view broadcast deals with Viewer's Choice Canada as well as Viasat which broadcasts throughout Europe. The WWF has also inked a deal with the Canadian Broadcasting Channel (CBC) to air WWF Superstars tapings on Saturday nights.

Rumors swirled this week that 'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith would be the next former-WWF start to join WCW, but as of press time, the two sides have yet to come to agreement on a contract.

Jim Ross reached an agreement this week on a deal that will keep him with the WWF. Look for Ross to continue to provide play-by-play commentary on WWF Superstars and join Vince McMahon on big-event broadcasts going forward.

The WWF also agreed to terms on new deals with 'The Doctor of Desire' Tom Prichard and 'Gigolo' Jimmy Del Ray, The Heavenly Bodies.

Samu sustained an elbow injury during The Headshrinkers' title defense against The Heavenly Bodies in last weeks taping of WWF Superstars. He'll likely be out of action for a few weeks but should be back in time for SummerSlam.

Koko B. Ware and Virgil were not retained by the WWF after their contracts ended last week. It will be interesting to see if World Championship Wrestling has any interest in these two stars as they've been seemingly signing any former-WWF talent with name recognition that they can get their hands on. WWF has also decided not to renew pay-per-appearance agreements with the legendary duo of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, The Rock N' Roll Express.

Monday Night RAW was well-received by the fans once again with the WWF pulling a 3.02 rating on the show. The WWF received a 0.32 rating for last weekend's episode of WWF Superstars.

“The heat continues to rise and tensions are boiling over as we’re just a month away from SummerSlam! Welcome everyone, to Monday Night RAW! Vince McMahon here with the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and we’ve got Lex Luger in action tonight against Crush!

“Oooh yeah, Vince McMahon! If anybody knows what it’s like to have unfinished business with the big man from Kona, Hawaii it’s the ‘Macho Man’, yeah!”

“Razor Ramon will also step in the ring against Shawn Michaels and if Razor wins, he’ll get a shot at Diesel’s Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam!”

“Speaking of unfinished business, I’ve got a bone to pick with the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ and if he didn’t already have his hands full with Razor Ramon, I might have to take care of him myself, if you know what I mean!”

“Alright! Let’s take you to the ring and find out who will head to SummerSlam to face the WWF Tag Team champions, The Headshrinkers!”

The six-shooters fire and the honky tonk music of The Smoking Gunns hits as they make their way down the aisle, high-fiving the raucous fans at ringside. They step through the ropes then fire blanks into the sky, getting a nice ovation from the crowd.

“Money, money, money, money, money!” The cheers turn to jeers as Ted DiBiase leads Irwin R. Schyster and Bam Bam Bigelow down the aisle. I.R.S., with a microphone in hand taunts the tax cheats in the crowd as Bam Bam enters the ring and bounces from rope to rope.

After Billy Gunn and Bam Bam Bigelow step out of the ropes, I.R.S. and Bart Gunn lock up as the bell rings.

In a decent match, Bam Bam Bigelow and Irwin R. Schyster defeated The Smoking Gunns in 9:44 when Irwin R. Schyster defeated Bart Gunn by pinfall.

Comments: The match got the show off to a great start with all four wrestlers performing well. Bam Bam Bigelow carried the match but The Smoking Gunns impressed, isolating DiBiase's henchmen from each other. With the Gunns looking to have an edge, Ted DiBiase, who stood at ringside would distract the referee allowing I.R.S. to nail Billy Gunn with a knee to the back as he bounced off the ropes. This opened the door for Bam Bam to take control and finish Billy Gunn off with a flying headbutt. With the win, Bam Bam and I.R.S. earned a Tag Team Title shot at SummerSlam.

We return from an ICO-PRO commercial featuring Lex Luger, and see the ring adorned with a red carpet, gold furniture, and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler standing in the middle of it all.

‘The King’ spends a few minutes insulting the East Lansing, Michigan fans in attendance, inciting jeers from the crowd, before introducing his guest. “Do you know why the Postal Service abbreviates Michigan with an M and an I? That’s because it stands for ‘Mostly Idiots!’ Speaking of idiots, my guest outsmarted another idiot from the Great Lakes last week on RAW. Please welcome, ‘Double J’ Jeff Jarrett!

Jarrett’s country waltz hits and he slowly struts his way down to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd. He struts some more in the ring soaking in the disdain from the fans.

Jarrett addresses his host, “Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler let me tell you something. As a fellow Tennessean, I know a king when I see one and it’s an honor to be standing in this ring with you!”

After fluffing each other up for a few minutes Lawler asks Jarrett about his recent match with the 1-2-3 Kid.

“You’re looking at the greatest wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation. The 1-2-3 Kid isn’t even in my league.”

“One! Two! Three!” The 1-2-3 Kid’s music hits and the crowd cheers as he makes his way down the aisle in a leather jacket, blue jeans and a bandanna. He leaps over the top rope and grabs the mic.

“Not in your league? I already beat you at the ‘King of the Ring’ ‘Double J.’ I’m not one to make excuses but everybody saw what happened last week. So I’m challenging you again at SummerSlam! Let’s see who the best man is! Or are you too much of a chicken?”

The Kid hands the mic off to Jarrett. “How many times…?”

Jarrett hits The Kid over the head with the microphone! Jarrett starts to lay the boots to him while he’s on the ground and Lawler joins in. After continuing the assault, ‘Double J’ grabs the mic again.

“You’re on.”

Vince McMahon chimes in, “There you have it folks. Jeff Jarrett will square off against the 1-2-3 Kid at SummerSlam! Speaking of SummerSlam, let’s check in with Bret “Hitman” Hart who continues to rehab his injured knee back home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.”

We see a shot of Bret Hart who is doing leg extensions on a machine, sweat pouring off of his brow. He talks about his rehab before getting straight to the point.

“Owen, I may still be on the mend, but I’m going to be ready and when we step in that ring at SummerSlam, I don’t want there to be any more question of who is the best. Crush and Mr. Fuji are in the ring as we return from commercial. Crush bows to Fuji as Lex Luger’s theme hits and the crowd jumps to his feet.

“Here comes Lex Luger!” shouts Vince.

“Made in America! Ooooh yeah!” adds Savage.

The lights dim as red and blue spotlights shine in the ring. Luger flexes for the cheering crowd but gets nailed from behind with a double axe handle before the bell rings.

In a decent match, Lex Luger defeated Crush in 10:01 by pinfall. During the match we also saw Nikolai Volkoff run in and attack Crush.

Comments: After taking the upper hand early in this one Crush would control the early stages of the match. Lex Luger would power back after fighting off a sleeper hold from Crush but referee Earl Hebner would be knocked unconscious after Lex Luger accidentally Irish whipped Crush into him. With Luger first checking on Hebner he began hyping the crowd, preparing to deliver what would have been a devastating forearm blow. Mr. Fuji would see this window of opportunity and toss salt in the eyes of Luger, blinding him in the process.

With Luger down to a knee trying to clear his eyes, and Crush making his way to his feet, Nikolai Volkoff would run down the aisle, climb in the ring, and hit a lifting backbreaker on Crush before making a quick exit. Luger would notice Crush laying on the mat and cover his opponent just as Hebner came to, counting the 1..2..3!

"I can't believe what I just saw, McMahon!" shouts Savage.

Vince chimes in again, “Ladies and gentlemen let’s take you to the back where Todd Pettengill is with ‘Big Daddy Cool’ Diesel.

Diesel stands confidently with the Intercontinental Title belt hanging on his shoulder over his leather jacket, and Todd Pettengill to his left in a SummerSlam jacket.

“Big Daddy Cool, tonight we’ll find out if you’ll be putting your title on the line at SummerSlam against Razor Ramon. What’s running through your mind?”

“What’s running through my mind? I’ll tell you what’s running through my mind. I’ll stand face to face with ‘The Bad Guy’ anytime, anywhere, but if he wants another shot at this belt, he’s going to have to earn it.”

Pettengill puts a hand up to his earpiece?

“What’s that? Diesel, I have just been informed that in an effort to maintain order in tonight’s match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon, Jack Tunney has banned you from the building.”

“What are you talking about, Pettengill?”

“According to WWF President Jack Tunney, you must leave the premises.”

Diesel's eyes get wide and he starts to adjust the leather glove on his fist.

“Oh yeah?! Who’s gonna make me?!”

“There he is!” booms a big voice from down the hall. Diesel is approached by a crowd of WWF Superstars including Typhoon, Adam Bomb, The Smoking Gunns and others with Mabel leading the way.

Diesel throws a punch and a big brawl ensues with Diesel holding his own before eventually succumbing to the numbers game and being pushed out an exit with a big metal door slamming behind him. Diesel pounds on the metal door from the outside.

We cut to a vignette which takes place in a dark mortuary. Paul Bearer addresses Ted DiBiase and his Undertaker that has been terrorizing the WWF.

“Mr. DiBiase, my Undertaker has no need for money. My Undertaker has no need for worldly possessions. “Oh! Oh! Shaaaaawn!” We return from commercial as Shawn Michaels dances his way down the aisle, obnoxiously chomping on chewing gum, and flipping up the round lenses of the sunglasses to peak at the camera and try to get a glimpse of himself in the reflection. He dances on the ring apron to a chorus of boos before entering and spinning around in the ring, arms outstretched taking it all in before striking his trademark pose in the middle.

"There's confident and there's cocky, McMahon, and Shawn Michaels is as cocky as they come. Too cocky if you ask me!" says Savage.

Tires screech as Razor Ramon’s theme hits and the crowd goes wild!

“Here comes ‘The Bad Guy!” exclaims Vince. “Will we see Razor Ramon get his Intercontinental Title shot at SummerSlam?!”

Razor lets the anticipation build before he slowly makes his way through the curtain, arms outstretched. Razor glides down the aisle with gold chains hanging from his neck and climbs in the ring where the darkness is illuminated with yellow spotlights. Razor does his signature ‘Bad Guy’ taunt as the crowd pops again.

After taking off his vest and handing his gold chains off to a ringside attendant Razor slowly approaches the middle of the ring while Michaels bounces around. He takes a swipe over referee Earl Hebner's shoulder and motions for Razor to come get him and Razor tosses his toothpick in his face in response. Michaels complains to the referee before turning and pointing at Savage, telling him, “Keep your mouth shut, Savage, before I come down there and shut it!”

“You better watch it, brother!” says Savage in response.

The bell rings and the two lock up with Michaels being pushed backwards head over heels, bouncing off the ropes and to the mat.

In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Razor Ramon defeated Shawn Michaels in 15:17 by pinfall with a Razor's Edge.

Comments: Razor and Michaels put on a show! Razor would spend much of this match, punishing the cocky Michaels, but his shot at the Intercontinental Championship nearly slipped away after Randy Savage got involved. With the Earl Hebner downed by another collision (it was a rough night for the zebras) and both wrestlers on the outside, Michaels would whip Razor Ramon into the ring steps before rolling the 'Bad Guy' back into the ring and tossing in a steel chair after him.

Michaels would then then turn to the announce table where Savage stood up and got in his face. Michaels shoved Savage back into his own chair, knocking his hat off in the process. With Savage quickly removing his glasses and jacket Michaels quickly retreated into the ring, Savage followed. Michaels used a baseball slide to slide between Razor's legs and out of the ring as Razor would grab Savage avoiding what could've been a nasty collision. As they recovered, Michaels smartly slid back into the ring, grabbed the chair and as Savage exited the ring, nailed Razor right in the back with it.

Michaels would wake Hebner and cover Razor for the pin but Ramon would get a shoulder up just before the three count. Michaels would lay the boots to Razor but the big man would fight his way back, catch a Michaels crossbody and deliver a fallaway slam. "That's it!" yelled Razor, signaling the Razor's Edge which he'd nail earning him the big victory and an Intercontinental Title shot at SummerSlam!
