QUEBECER JACQUES & BARRY HOROWITZ VS. THE HEAVENLY BODIES

In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, The Heavenly Bodies defeated Jacques Rougeau and Barry Horowitz in 9:56 when Jimmy Del Ray defeated Barry Horowitz by pinfall with a Moonsault Bodyblock following interference from Pierre. Clearly agitated by his former tag team partner's actions last week, and perhaps fueled by jealousy of his own, Pierre would cost Jacques the match by tripping up Jacques' partner Barry Horowitz, allowing Jimmy Del Ray to land the Moonsault.

MATCH RATING: 53 C-

Michaels interviews Owen Hart about his ongoing feud with his brother, ultimately asking Owen if he'll accept Bret's stipulation of a 2-out-of-3 Falls match for their World Heavyweight Title bout at Summerslam. "Bret, I've already proven I can beat you. One, two, three, ten, twenty falls, it doesn't matter! I've already proven that I'm the best and at SummerSlam I'm going to take your title and prove once and for all that I am the King of Harts!"

SEGMENT RATING: 88 B+

'THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN' ADDRESSES PAUL BEARER

In a backstage promo segment, Ted DiBiase stands by with what appears to be The Undertaker lurking in the shadows. "Paul Bearer, you can light your candles, shine that urn of yours, and speak in tongues, but it's not going to matter. The power of the spirit of The Undertaker is no more! Everybody has a price! And the real power is in the almighty dollar! Hahahahaha!"

SEGMENT RATING: 79 B

SEGMENT RATING: 82 B

“Welcome everyone to Monday Night RAW! I’m Vince McMahon and we’re going to be joined momentarily by ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage! Tonight we’ll see Tatanka square off with the tax man, Irwin R. Schyster! The self-proclaimed ‘King of Harts’ will also be in action as we’re just three weeks away from Owen squaring off with Bret “Hitman” Hart as it will be brother versus brother, battling it out for the WWF World Heavyweight Title! We’ll also see some of the biggest, and I mean the BIGGEST stars in the World Wrestling Federation battle it out in an over-the-top rope, battle royal!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wwfsmallgray.png" data-src="https://image.ibb.co/kr9jNA/wwfsmallgray.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

The slow build to ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ keeps the crowd on their feet.</p><p> </p><p>

“It looks like he's not going to keep this capacity crowd waiting! Here comes the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage!”</p><p> </p><p>

‘Macho Man’ makes his way to the ring to the ring with his trademark, brightly colored shades, cowboy hat and tassled ring jacket. He spins his way down the aisle, pointing at the fans, before climbing up on the ring apron and hyping the crowd more before climbing through the ropes and raising an arm on from the second turnbuckle.</p><p> </p><p>

“They sure love the ‘Macho Man’ here in Milwaukee! One of the true legends in the WWF!” adds Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

Savage grabs a microphone, but the crowd is still going crazy. He spins his finger in the air getting another pop from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I want to let you in on a little secret. Nine years. For nine years the ‘Macho Man’ has been running wild on the World Wrestling Federation, yeah. I’ve been the King of the Ring, yeah, the Intercontinental Champion, yeah, and the WWF World Heavyweight champion two times! I’ve stood up to the biggest and baddest men that the WWF has to offer and I’ve come out on top. I put it all on the line and I’ve lived to tell my story yeah, but this story isn’t over. I’ve still got a story to tell, yeah, an epic, and I’m still standing on top of the mountain.” </strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Savage pauses as the crowd cheers again.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“And when you scale that mountain and make your way to the top you look down and see everyone left in your path, yeah. You see everyone scratching and clawing to get to the top, yeah, and when someone climbs their way to the top spilling blood sweat and tears along the way you have to respect it. But if you look carefully, there’s always a few trying to take the easy road. There’s always a few cheating to get to the top, backstabbing, riding on the coattails to try and make a name for themselves, yeah. As I look down as the king of the mountain I see two of those punks right now. I see Shawn Michaels and I see Diesel!”</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd boos after hearing the names of 'The Heartbreak Kid' and 'Big Daddy Cool.'</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“Shawn Michaels, you disrespected the name of the ‘Macho Man’. You disrespected the road that I paved before you, yeah, and I won’t let that stand. I’m still standing on top of that mountain, but I just stood up from my throne, yeah, I’m walking back down that road that I paved and I’m going to head you off at the path. If you want to be a star, Shawn Michaels, you’re not going to do it by disrespecting the name of the ‘Macho Man’…</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Savage rips off his shades and stares intensely into the camera.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“Oh no, you’re going to look into the eyes of a champion. You're going to look in the eyes of a legend and you're going to feel the fire burning and you’re going to have to answer for your misdeeds, yeah. Michaels, you’re going to have to earn the fame and fortune. You see, SummerSlam is almost here Shawn Michaels, the temperature is rising, yeah, and I’m going to give you the opportunity of a lifetime. Just you and me, Michaels, no ‘bodyguards’, if you know what I mean. This is your chance to climb right to the top of the mountain, and I hope you're ready to climb, yeah, because I want you in a steel cage!”</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd cheers loudly.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“The ‘Macho Man’ and Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam! Steel cage match! Welcome to the big time! Ooooh yeah! Dig it!”</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

‘Pomp and Circumstance’ hits again as the crowd goes wild. Savage climbs on the turnbuckle again holding a fist in the air.</p><p> </p><p>

“Oh my! There you have it folks, Randy Savage has thrown down the challenge to Shawn Michaels!” chimes in Vince as we go to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>SEGMENT RATING:</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#214478;"><strong>97 A+</strong></span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

Irwin R. Schyster is in the ring as we return from commercial with a microphone in hand. He taunts the tax evaders in the crowd before Tatanka’s battle cry rings out over the loudspeakers. Tatanka runs down the aisle, slides in the ring and immediately nails I.R.S. with three tomahawk chops over the head, before tossing him into the ropes and launching him overhead with a back body drop.</p><p> </p><p>

“Tatanka looks fired up, McMahon!” shouts Macho Man who has joined Vince at the announce table.</p><p> </p><p>

The bell rings and we’re underway.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Tatanka defeated Irwin R. Schyster in 8:29 when Irwin R. Schyster was disqualified when Nikolai Volkoff ran in and attacked Tatanka.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Tatanka took control early in this one but I.R.S. would weather the storm and come back strong. Tatanka would fight back from a sleeper hold and take control of the match, but as it looked like he was ready to put the finishing touches on I.R.S. hoisting him up for the End of the Trail, Nikolai Volkoff jumped in the ring and blindsided him, nailing him in the back with I.R.S.'s briefcase.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

I.R.S. and Volkoff looked to do more damage when Lex Luger ran in the ring, grabbed the briefcase, and DiBiase's henchmen made a quick exit.</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>MATCH RATING:</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#214478;"><strong>68 C+</strong></span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

Lex Luger stands by the ropes, pointing a finger down the aisle towards Schyster, Volkoff, and DiBiase who make their exit. Behind Luger, Tatanka slowly makes his way to his feet still feeling the affects of the shot he took moments prior. As he looks up he notices Luger holding the briefcase that he was belted with only moments before. Tatanka's breathing gets more intense and rage fills his eyes.</p><p> </p><p>

Luger turns to see Tatanka standing behind him, putting a hand on Tatanka’s chest trying to explain what happened but Tatanka pushes him away. The briefcase drops to the mat as the two shout back and forth.</p><p> </p><p>

Tatanka shoves Luger! Luger returns the shove then Tatanka takes Luger to the mat with a double-leg take down! The two roll around in the ring exchanging body shots while WWF officials sprint down to the ring to break up the fracas!</p><p> </p><p>

“He’s lost it!” yells Luger, pointing a finger over the shoulder before Tatanka breaks free and jumps on Luger again.</p><p> </p><p>

“This has been building for weeks and it’s boiling over here tonight!” shouts Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

They’re finally separated as we go to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>SEGMENT RATING:</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#214478;"><strong>79 B</strong></span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

Vince welcomes everyone back from the break.</p><p> </p><p>

“What a night we’ve had so far and things are only getting hotter as we get ready for the over-the-top-rope ‘big man’ battle royal!”</p><p> </p><p>

As Fatu, Mo, Typhoon, Crush, Adam Bomb, Mabel, Bastion Booger, and Bam Bam Bigelow wait around in the ring, Yokozuna’s music hits and he makes his way down the aisle with Mr. Fuji by his side. He slowly makes his way into the ring, removing his robe with the other six men standing in the opposite corner sizing up they huge 600-pound monster.</p><p> </p><p>

“There’s a lot of beef in that ring, McMahon!” replies Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

Just then a deep rumbling is heard…</p><p> </p><p>

“Look who it is!” shouts McMahon.</p><p> </p><p>

“It’s Earthquake! He’s back and he looks like he means business!” yells Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

Earthquake jogs down to the ring, climbs onto the apron and inside, immediately going to work on Yokozuna!</p><p> </p><p>

“Yokozuna put Earthquake out of action a few months ago and he’s finally getting a chance at payback!” shouts Savage as the bell rings and all of the men start to brawl.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a poor match, Mabel won a battle royal in 15:42. The other members of the 'final four' were Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna and Earthquake, with Bam Bam Bigelow being the final elimination. Mabel got the most eliminations over the course of the match.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Mabel dominated in this one eliminating the heavy favorite, Yokozuna with help from the returning Earthquake and Bam Bam Bigelow. Yokozuna took exception to the elimination and attempted to climb back in the ring to get a piece of Mabel before the referees at ringside stopped him. Mabel would then toss Earthquake and Bigelow over the top together to earn the victory.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

“What a match!” yells McMahon.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

“Mabel continues to impress me, McMahon! Yokozuna might have met his match!” says Savage.</em></p><p> </p><p>

“Alright, let’s take you to the back where Todd Pettengill is standing by with Razor Ramon.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Thanks Vince,” says Pettengill, who congratulates ‘The Bad Guy’ on his big victory last week and asks him about his feud with Diesel.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“I’ve just got one more thing to say. ‘Big Daddy Cool’, you’re bigger than me. We return from commercial with Bob Backlund in the ring warming up for the main event. Owen Hart’s music hits and he emerges from the curtain to a chorus of boos with Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart right behind him.</p><p> </p><p>

“Bob Backlund is ready to go and here comes Owen Hart!” says Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

Owen has a sour look on his face as he pulls his arm away from a fan who reached out to touch him.</p><p> </p><p>

“Shut up!” yells Neidhart to the crowd. “Show some respect to the next World Champ!”</p><p> </p><p>

“There’s no love lost between Owen and these fans,” comments Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

“And for good reason, McMahon. Owen better get his head on straight because Bob Backlund could twist him into a pretzel before he knows the bell's rung, if you know what I mean.”</p><p> </p><p>

“This will certainly be a good test for Owen as Backlund is still one of the most technically sound competitors in the World Wrestling Federation.”</p><p> </p><p>

Owen climbs in the ring then onto the second turnbuckle, raising two fists in the air before finding a camera. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“Get well soon, Bret! I don’t want any excuses when I beat you again!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Owen and Backlund circle each other in the ring as the bell rings and the two grapplers lock up. Backlund takes Owen to the mat with a fireman’s carry then locks him in an arm bar and a waist lock before Owen reaches the ropes and complains to the referee as we start the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Owen Hart defeated Bob Backlund in 11:06 by submission with a Sharpshooter after interference from Jim Neidhart.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: In a heavily technical contest, Bob Backlund frustrated Owen throughout but ultimately Jim Neidhart would turn the tables, jumping on the apron and clotheslining an unsuspecting Backlund, opening the door for Owen to lock on the Sharpshooter.</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>MATCH RATING:</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#214478;"><strong>76 B-</strong></span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

Owen and Neidhart surround Backlund as he makes his way to his feet, standing wide-eyed between the two men.</p><p> </p><p>

"This doesn't look good for Backlund, McMahon!" suggests Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

Just then the crowd cheers loudly with fans starting to stand near the entrance as Backlund slinks out of the ring. Owen and Neidhart look on as a guitar squeels over the loudspeaker! Bret “Hitman” Hart makes his way down the aisle on crutches!</p><p> </p><p>

“Bret Hart is here!” shouts Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

“The ‘Hitman’ better be careful, McMahon. It doesn’t look like he’s in any condition to be out here tonight.”</p><p> </p><p>

Hart makes his way up the ring steps then gingerly enters the ring with Owen and Neidhart standing near each other in the opposite corner of the ring. Bret grabs a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

“You two look surprised to see me. What can I say? I was getting a little bit of cabin fever.”</p><p> </p><p>

He pauses as the crowd chants “Hitman! Hitman! Hitman!”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“There’s something I want to get off my chest. Owen looks on confused but still with an angry look on his face.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>“I want you to know, that you’re still family. You're still my brother.”</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Owen’s hard look softens a bit as Bret steps closer.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“And Owen, there’s one more thing I want you to know…”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Owen begins to verbally questioning his brother. In an instant, Bret drops the mic, tosses a crutch into Neidhart then nails Owen in the midsection sending him to the mat! Bret crosschecks Neidhart over the top rope with the crutch before nailing Owen again in the back with a few more shots before kicking Owen out from under the bottom rope and picking up the microphone again.</p><p> </p><p>

“The Hitman’s back and he’s getting some revenge!” shouts Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“Owen, I want you to know that no thanks to you, my knee is one-hundred percent! Bret’s music hits again as he hypes the crowd and the show closes. </p><p> </p><p>

WRESTLING OBSERVER NEWSLETTER

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some interesting tidbit's from Dave Meltzer in his 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter'...

  • Monday Night RAW saw the surprising return of Earthquake to the WWF just a few months after making the decision to step away from WWF in the middle of a feud with Yokozuna. It's unclear if this was a one-time appearance for the big man to help get the match over, or whether he'll remain with the company.

  • Nikolai Volkoff's contract is set to expire at the end of the month. Rumor has it that there is mutual interest from both sides to work on a short-term deal.

  • Monday Night RAW set a record for the second consecutive week, smashing last week's record-setting 3.20 mark with a 3.54 TV rating. RAW continues to remain on an upward trajectory as we get closer to SummerSlam. WWF Superstars stayed steady with another 0.32 rating this week.

1-2-3/??? vs. <strong>Jeff Jarrett/???</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I am going to go with Je,double f, Ja, double r, e, double t...that's double JJ Jeff Jarrett for the win. Mainly because I had a strong dislike for X-Pac before I even knew there was a name for it.</p>

“Welcome everyone, to Glendale, Arizona! Welcome everyone, to Monday Night RAW! It’s scorching outside and the heat continues to rise in the World Wrestling Federation as we’re just two weeks away from SummerSlam! I’m Vince McMahon here with the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and we've got an excellent showcase for you tonight.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Ooooh yeah, Vince McMahon, the heat is rising! The energy is rising! And things are about to explode here on Monday Night RAW!”</p><p> </p><p>

“Tonight we’ll see the 1-2-3 Kid in tag team action as he and Quebecer Jacques will take on Jeff Jarrett and Jacques’ former tag team partner, Pierre!”</p><p> </p><p>

“Those two have a strange relationship, McMahon and we’ll finally get to see them go one-on-one!”</p><p> </p><p>

“We’ll also see a much-anticipated rematch as Earthquake will face the man who took him out of action for nearly two months, Yokozuna!”</p><p> </p><p>

“Earthquake has been champing at the bit to get another piece of Yokozuna and I don’t know if that ring will be able to hold those two monsters, McMahon!"</p><p> </p><p>

“We’ll also see The Smoking Gunns take on…</p><p> </p><p>

‘Oh! Oh! Shaaaawn!’ Shawn Michaels music hits, interrupting the show’s introduction.</p><p> </p><p>

“Oh, here we go…” says Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

Vince chimes back in, “Shawn Michaels and Diesel will be in action later tonight against The Smoking Gunns but it looks like ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ doesn't want to wait.”</p><p> </p><p>

Michaels dances his way down to the ring, looking as cocky as usual, fixing his hair and checking out his own reflection in the camera lens. He enters the ring and spins around with his arms outstretched before grabbing a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

He spends some time insulting and taunting Savage who slowly makes his way into the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

“If you want to do this, Michaels, we can do this tonight!”</p><p> </p><p>

“Settle down, Macho Man, you know ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ and ‘Big Daddy Cool’ Diesel already have a couple of dance partners," responds Michaels.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">"Savage, if you think for a second, that I need to use </span></span></strong><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><em>you</em></span></span></strong><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"> to make a name for myself, you’re crazier than I thought. Savage is fired up and spins around looking at the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

“So I’m sure you and all these morons are wondering if I’m going to accept your cage match challenge for SummerSlam. Well, Savage…the answer is no.”</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd boos loudly.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“I know you’re desperately clinging on to what's left of your spotlight, Savage, but it’s time to give it up. It’s time to make way for a new generation of WWF superstars. So I'll tell you what. If you want me in a steel cage at SummerSlam, it’s gonna be on my terms. I’ll accept your challenge, but if I win…if I win...you have to leave the World Wrestling Federation.”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd has a mixed reaction and seems shocked at the suggestion. Michaels holds out the mic and Savage snatches out of his hand. Savage pulls off his shades and stands face-to-face with Michaels who chomps on his gum smirking, but looking slightly nervous.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">"I don’t care if it’s my last match in the WWF, Michaels. Oooh yeah!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

“There you have it! Shawn Michaels and ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage in a steel cage at SummerSlam!” adds Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

Savage’s music hits as Michaels exits the ring walking backward up the aisle with the ‘Macho Man’ pointing a finger in his direction. Savage has a few more words for Michaels as we cut to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>SEGMENT RATING:</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#214478;"><strong>94 A</strong></span></span></span></p><p> </p><p>

As we return from commercial, Quebecer Pierre stands in the ring as Johnny Polo gives him words of encouragement. Jeff Jarrett’s music hits and the lights dim as he struts down the aisle with his illuminated sunglasses flashing. Jarrett reminds the crowd that they’re looking at greatness before entering the ring and some more, taking in the boos from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

‘One! Two! Three!’ The 1-2-3 Kid’s music hits and the crowd cheers as he and Jacques Rougeau make their way down to the ring. Rougeau climbs through the ropes as The Kid leaps over the top. They high-five each other before The Kid and Jarrett step out of the ropes leaving the two former tag partners to start this one. Jacques and Pierre argue in the middle as the bell rings and as Pierre points over Jacques shoulder at The Kid, shouting something in French, Jacques delivers a slap right across the face!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a poor match, Pierre and Jeff Jarrett defeated 1-2-3 Kid and Jacques Rougeau in 9:52 when Pierre defeated 1-2-3 Kid by pinfall. During the match we also had Jacques Rougeau turn on 1-2-3 Kid.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: In what was a very odd pairing of teams from the start, this match saw both teams struggle with chemistry. Pierre and Jeff Jarrett would control the match with underhanded tactics but a miscommunication would give the 1-2-3 Kid an edge as Pierre would accidentally knock his own teammate off the apron.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

In a surprising finish, Jacques would take a bullet for his former teammate, jumping in the way of a 1-2-3 Kid moonsault. Pierre would then nail a cannonball off the top on the 1-2-3 Kid to earn the pinfall. After the match, Jacques and Pierre would stand face to face, with Pierre appearing to question, in French, why Jacques saved him. The two would hug in the ring as it appears The Quebecers have reunited.</em></p><p> </p><p>

“Well, it appears we’ve seen one relationship repaired but there’s another with such a great divide that I don’t know if it will ever be fixed, and that’s the relationship of Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart and his brother, the self-proclaimed 'King of Harts' Owen. Let’s take you back to the beginning to show you how this bitter rivalry has developed.”</p><p> </p><p>

A video package is shown of Owen attacking Bret after the Hart Family’s victory at Survivor Series, Owen kicking Bret’s leg out of his leg after their loss against the Quebecers at the Royal Rumble, Owen pinning Bret at Wrestlemania X, and Owen winning the King of the Ring with help from Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart. The package ended with a video recap of recent developments including Owen and Neidhart’s attack on Bret that left ‘The Hitman’ hobbled, and Bret’s return last week when he’d attack Owen and The Anvil with his own crutches. </p><p> </p><p>

Once the video wraps up we see Todd Pettengill standing backstage with Bret for an interview. Pettengill asks Bret about the rivalry before ‘The Hitman’ addresses his actions last week.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“What everybody saw last week was a little revenge. Owen…"</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly Hart is floored by a big body! Two men assault the champ and the cameras quickly pan back to see ‘The Anvil’ and Owen laying the boots to Bret.</p><p> </p><p>

“Somebody get back there and stop this!” shouts McMahon.</p><p> </p><p>

Owen continues to shout at his brother throughout the attack.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“You’re a coward, Bret, attacking us last week! You’re gutless! This is what you deserve you coward!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

“Gutless? This attack is gutless!” yells Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

Pettengill calls for help as Owen and Neidhart leave the scene and we go to commercial.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“I don’t know why you people are so concerned with immigration in Arizona. Everyone I ask can’t wait to get out of here!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

After he gets the crowd hot with his onslaught of insults, Lawler welcomes his guest, Lex Luger!</p><p> </p><p>

Luger makes his way down to the ring in a red, white, and blue track suit, high fiving the fans.</p><p> </p><p>

After making his way into the ring, Lawler begins to aggressively grill him on his dealings with ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“King, I’m not like you. I’m an honest man. I’m a man with good morals and I am NOT a man that's swayed by greed!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

“Why don’t you tell these people the truth! You know what? I’ll tell them the truth," responds Lawler.</p><p> </p><p>

Luger nails Lawler with a running forearm sending Lawler to his mat and his crown flying through the air.</p><p> </p><p>

As we return from commercial Yokozuna slowly makes his way down the aisle with Mr. Fuji by his side.</p><p> </p><p>

“Yokozuna looks bigger than ever, McMahon!” says Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

The huge, 600-pounder climbs into the ring and removes his robe as a low rumble is heard through the arena. Earthquake steps out of the curtain to a cheer from the Glendale crowd. He steps into the ring, never taking his eyes off his large opponent</p><p> </p><p>

“Earthquake has revenge in his eyes! That’s a dangerous man!” adds Savage.</p><p> </p><p>

As the bell rings the two men size each other up and run right into each other colliding in the middle of the ring, sending Yokozuna backwards until he falls between the middle and top ropes!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Yokozuna defeated Earthquake in 7:15 by pinfall with a Bonzai Drop.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Eathquake controlled this match in what turned out to mostly be a giant brawl between the two super heavyweights. Ultimately, Yokozuna would take control hitting a huge Samoan drop, shaking the ring, before dragging Earthquake to the corner and delivering a Bonzai Drop.</em></p><p> </p><p>

We cut to shot of a dark, foggy graveyard in the middle of nowhere and pan until we see Paul Bearer enter the frame with his face lit only by the light of the lantern he’s holding. We return from commercial to the sound of pistols firing.</p><p> </p><p>

“Here come The Smoking Gunns for tonight’s main event!”</p><p> </p><p>

“Billy and Bart have got their hands full, McMahon, but I think they’re gonna pull out a major upset over Shawn Michaels and Diesel tonight!”</p><p> </p><p>

Billy and Bart Gunn make their way down to the ring in their duster jackets and cowboy hats, high-fiving the fans as they walk down the aisle. After firing blanks with their pistols they start to remove their jackets as a big diesel horn blares. Shawn Michaels steps out from the curtain first, dancing down the aisle in front of Diesel who stares menacingly and tightens the leather glove on his fist.</p><p> </p><p>

“Diesel looks like he means business tonight but you know what they say, McMahon, the bigger they are, the harder they fall!”</p><p> </p><p>

With the spotlights on the middle of the squared circle, Michaels enters the ring spinning around with his arms outstretched while Diesel steps over the top rope. Michaels drops into his signature crouching flex pose while Diesel raises a fist behind him as they hear jeers from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

As Michaels removes his ring attire, Diesel takes off his leather vest and points down at ‘Macho Man’ issuing a warning.</p><p> </p><p>

“Alright, Macho, let’s keep calm here," says McMahon in response.</p><p> </p><p>

Diesel and Bart Gunn step out of the ring and Michaels and Billy Gunn lock up as the bell rings. Billy shoves Michaels who rolls backwards then complains to the ref that Billy pulled his hair.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Diesel & Shawn Michaels defeated The Smoking Gunns in 12:19 when Shawn Michaels defeated Billy Gunn by pinfall with a Sweet Chin Music. During the match we also had Pierre run in and attack Bart Gunn.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: The Smoking Gunns put up a good fight in this contest nearly earning a pinfall on multiple occasions with their excellent teamwork, but interference from The Quebecers would contribute to their eventual loss. With Shawn Michaels and Billy Gunn battling it out in the ring, Diesel would assault Bart Gunn on the outside, dropping him chest first on the steel barrier. Macho Man would come to his aid, but The Quebecers would run in out of nowhere and lay the boots to Bart and take out the Macho Man behind the referees back.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

With his teammate neutralized, the Billy Gunn could only last so long before taking a superkick, resulting in a pinfall for 'The Heartbreak Kid'.</em></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Michaels, Diesel, and The Quebecers continue their assault rolling Bart Gunn and Randy Savage inside the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Diesel picks Savage up off the mat but as he holds him up for a superkick, the booing crowd instantly pops as Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid run down the aisle and slide in the ring. Razor sends Michaels over the top rope with a huge punch and then brawls with Diesel while The Kid nails The Quebecers with martial arts kicks, sending them out of the ring. WWF officials run down to the ring to break up the melee as we go off the air.</p><p> </p><p>

The familiar guitar squeal of Bret Hart’s music hits and the fans go crazy! </p><p> </p><p>

“...right now!” adds Vince. “Here comes the ‘Hitman!’</p><p> </p><p>

Bret addresses the assault he received at the hands of Owen Hart and Jim ‘The Anvil’ last week before calling both of his attackers out. Owen’s music hits and he and Anvil emerge from the curtain to a chorus of boos. They stand looking toward the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

We return from a Slim Jim commercial featuring the ‘Macho Man’ and see The Quebecers, Pierre & Jacques, and Johnny Polo standing in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Tires squeal and the crowd jumps to their feet cheering loudly as Razor Ramon prepares to make his entrance. The lights dim and yellow lighting illuminates the aisle as Razor steps out of the curtain with is arms outstretched. He glides down the aisle, finds a camera, and tells the world to “Take a look at the Bad Guy.”</p><p> </p><p>

Razor steps into the ring and does his signature ‘Bad Guy’ chest point before throwing his arms open wide as the fans cheer loudly. The Quebecers are held back by Johnny Polo and the referee as Razor taunts them by wiggling is fingers looking mockingly scared. Johnny Polo and Jacques exit the ring and as Pierre approaches the middle of the ring, he gets a toothpick tossed in his face before the bell rings. The two lock up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Razor Ramon defeated Pierre in 9:43 by pinfall with a Razor's Edge.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Razor Ramon was in control throughout this one, proving to be in top form for his Intercontinental Title match at SummerSlam. After hitting a fallaway slam on Pierre, even Johnny Polo and Jacques couldn't stop Razor's momentum as Jacques would be punched off the apron and Polo would be catapulted over the top rope into the ring where he was tossed right back out with another fallaway slam for his trouble. 'The Bad Guy' would then nail the Razor's Edge on Pierre for the victory.</em></p><p> </p><p>

“That’s another impressive win for ‘The Bad Guy’ who will head to SummerSlam in just six days to take on the Intercontinental Champion Diesel who is standing by backstage with Shawn Michaels and Todd Pettengill."</p><p> </p><p>

We cut backstage where Pettengill is set up for an interview with Diesel and Michaels. Pettengill begins to talk about Razor’s impressive victory before he’s cut off…</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';">“Big deal, Pettengill! Razor, the last time you stepped in the ring with me, I proved that I am bigger than you, stronger than you, and quite simply I proved I'm tougher than you. Pettengill transitions to Shawn Michaels who smugly chomps on his gum and pulls down his shades, asking him about critics that say his cockiness lit a fire under the ‘Macho Man.’</p><p> </p><p>

As we return from another commercial Nikolai Volkoff warms up in the ring as we set up for a split screen interview.</p><p> </p><p>

“Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. There are a lot of questions surrounding the business dealings of Ted DiBiase as we head into SummerSlam, we’re joined right now by the Million Dollar Man himself. Ted DiBiase, what does the Million Dollar Corporation have in store for the World Wrestling Federation at SummerSlam?”</p><p> </p><p>

The Million Dollar Man stands in the darkness in parts unknown.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“That’s for me to know and for you to find out, McMahon. The King chimes in, “Million Dollar Man, you and I both know the power of money. Everybody has a price after all! I already know the answer, but I think it’s time to tell the world. You have Lex Luger in your back pocket already, don’t you?”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial Black';"><span style="font-size:10px;">“King, you just ruined my big surprise! I’ve been telling everyone for months. Everybody’s got a price, even Lex Luger!”</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

“And what about The Undertaker? Are you concerned with Paul Bearer’s promise to deliver The Undertaker to SummerSlam?”</p><p> </p><p>

“Concerned? Why would I be concerned, McMahon?”</p><p> </p><p>

The Undertaker steps into the frame over DiBiase’s shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>

Tatanka’s war cry echoes through the arena as the fans jump to their feet as he runs down the aisle and slides in the ring. He dances around in a circle before jumping on the second turnbuckles in opposite corners of the squared circle and doing tomahawk chops.</p><p> </p><p>

The bell rings as he and Nikolai Volkoff lock up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Tatanka defeated Nikolai Volkoff in 7:18 when Nikolai Volkoff was disqualified when Irwin R. Schyster and Bam Bam Bigelow ran in and attacked Tatanka.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Volkoff used his bear-like strength to control Tatanka for most of this match. But as Tatanka fought off a bearhug and began to gain momentum, Irwin R. Schyster would run down to the ring and push him off the top rope preventing an tomahawk chop that could've ended it. I.R.S. and Bigelow continued to pound the Native American after the match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

"The Million Dollar Corporation is tearing Tatanka apart!" shouts Lawler.</p><p> </p><p>

Bigelow, Volkoff, and I.R.S. continue to put the boots to Tatanka as Lex Luger bursts through the curtain and jogs down the aisle!</p><p> </p><p>

“I told you, McMahon! It looks like Luger wants a piece of Tatanka too and he’s not going to wait until SummerSlam!” shouts The King.</p><p> </p><p>

Luger slides into the ring and the Million Dollar Corporation members back away as Luger between them and Tatanka who slowly tries to make his way to his feet. Suddenly, Luger lunges forward and nails I.R.S. with a hard right! The melee continues as Tatanka joins in as he and Luger clean house of the Million Dollar Corporation before backing into each other then turning ready to brawl. As Bigelow, Volkoff, and I.R.S. retreat, the Tatanka and Luger stand face to face, eye to eye before Luger slowly backs away and makes his way out of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

“It looks like someone needs to tell the Million Dollar Man that Lex Luger is NOT for sale!” exclaims McMahon.</p><p> </p><p>

“Luger is a fraud, McMahon! He made a big mistake crossing the Million Dollar Corporation!” adds Lawler.</p><p> </p><p>

We return from our final commercial break as Owen Hart’s music hits and he and Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart make their way down to the ring. Owen finds a camera as he walks down the aisle.</p><p> </p><p>

“I’m the King of Harts, Bret! You’re nothing!”</p><p> </p><p>

Neidhart climbs in the ring as Owen hops over the top, raising both arms to jeers from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

“Shut up!” shouts Owen back at the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart’s music hits and the crowd jumps to their feet again!</p><p> </p><p>

“Here comes the World Heavyweight Champion! Here comes the ‘Hitman!’ shouts Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret climbs into the ring basking in the cheers from the crowd. He takes his leather jacket off before jumping out of the ring and putting his glasses on a young boy at ringside and patting him on the head.</p><p> </p><p>

He climbs back in the ring and waits as the crowd gets quiet in anticipation of the arrival of his mystery teammate and enforcer.</p><p> </p><p>

“Who is it gonna be, McMahon?” asks Lawler.</p><p> </p><p>

The anticipation builds when suddenly “Rule, Britannia” blasts over the loudspeakers!</p><p> </p><p>

“No way, McMahon! Is it really…"</p><p> </p><p>

“Is that who I think it is? Can it be?!” shouts Vince.</p><p> </p><p>

Out from the curtain steps the British Bulldog!</p><p> </p><p>

“Davey Boy Smith is here! The British Bulldog is back! Can you believe it?”</p><p> </p><p>

Bulldog makes his way down to the ring waiving the Union Jack from side to side, high fiving the fans at ringside. Owen and Anvil are beside themselves in the ring! Bret sits on the second rope as the British Bulldog climbs in before climbing opposite corners of the ring and waving his flag high. </p><p> </p><p>

Bulldog and Bret Hart then hug in the middle of the ring while Owen and Neidhart argue with the referee.</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd chants, “Bulldog! Bulldog! Bulldog!” as Owen and Bulldog slowly step out of the ropes.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret and Neidhart get ready to lock up. The bell rings and we’re underway.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a good match, Bret Hart and The British Bulldog defeated The New Foundation in 15:55 when Bret Hart defeated Jim Neidhart by submission with a Sharpshooter.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Comments: Owen would avoid involving himself as much as possible in this one but eventually Bret would get his hands on his younger brother. The only thing preventing Bret from locking Owen in the Sharpshooter would be Neidhart who nailed Bret with a clothesline with the referee's back turned. </em></p><p><em>

Owen would take advantage, hitting Bret with a full arsenal of offense before the 'Hitman' hit Bulldog with a hot tag and Owen quickly tagged out for the escape. Bulldog looked like an absolute powerhouse dominating 'The Anvil' and nailing a powerslam! He clotheslined Owen off the apron before tagging in Bret. Bret would lock in the Sharpshooter on his former tag team partner to earn the submission victory. Bulldog raised Bret's hand high in the middle of the ring while Vince hypes SummerSlam as we go off the air.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bulldog will be in the 'Hitman's corner for Bret and Owen's 2-out-of-3 Falls match for the WWF World Heavyweight Title on Sunday at SummerSlam.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li><strong>Adam Bomb</strong> has been singled out by some in the industry as a talent to keep an eye on. One source claimed Bomb was 'loaded with potential.' It remains to be seen if the World Wrestling Federation will push Bomb higher in the card as he's currently stuck in an underwhelming feud with Kwang.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li><strong>Samu</strong>, one half of The Headshrinkers, is up for contract at the end of the month.
