WWF '94: New Stars Rising

Recommended Posts

Just curious, ZigZagMan, how can Summerslam 1994 have 41,000 fans in attendance when, in RL, it was held at the newly-opened United Center in Chicago, which seats only 23,000?

As for the two WWF wrestlers who failed drug tests and they're keeping it secret, here's my guess (highlight for the wrestlers): Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon. It would make sense, given that they both had substance abuse problems...

Other than that, good story so far; wonder how this will go...

39,000+ were expected to be in attendance so I found a venue that could house them. Many thanks to the Generic company for hosting such a wonderful event! With this dynasty I'll be focusing on the cities rather than the venue in most cases since many of the venues in TEW didn't exist in 1994.

You're one for two on your guesses. I'm actually a bit worried about how this will unfold because the two guys who got popped are two guys I have big plans for. But I guess that's what makes the game fun, the unpredictability.

Thanks for reading!

Tatanka’s war cry rings through the arena and the fans hop to their feet. Tatanka sprints down to the ring, slides inside and dances in circles before climbing to the second rope and doing a chop towards the crowd.

“Money, money, money, money, money!” The Million Dollar Corporation’s anthem hits as the lights dim and green dollar signs light the aisle. Ted DiBiase steps out of the curtain laughing with King Kong Bundy following close behind him, menacingly taunting the crowd.

“Shut your mouth, idiot!” Bundy shouts at a fan at ringside.

Bundy climbs into the ring and he and Tatanka stand face to face as the bell rings, the massive Bundy dwarfing his opponent. Tatanka bounces off the ropes and delivers a tomahawk chop as we’re underway!

In a decent match, Tatanka defeated King Kong Bundy in 10:55 when King Kong Bundy was counted out after being distracted by The Undertaker.

Comments: Tatanka fought hard in this one but Bundy's size would appear to be too much for the Native American. “The Undertaker continues to be thorn in the side of DiBiase’s Million Dollar Corporation! But right now let’s take you backstage with Todd Pettengill who’s standing by with ‘Double J’ Jeff Jarrett.”

Pettengill stands next to Jarrett who is sporting his cowboy hat, flashy shades, and a frilly white jacket. ‘Double J’ dances around questions about his cheap win over the 1-2-3 Kid at SummerSlam before Pettengill asks him what’s next for the aspring country-music, pro wrestling crossover star.

Jarrett is incensed as Pettengill sends it back to Vince McMahon.

The ring is set up for ‘The King’s Court’ as we come back from commercial. Lawler stands on a red carpet with a microphone in hand, taking a few shots at the Boston crowd before inviting out his guest, the British Bulldog!

‘Rule, Britannia’ hits as the fans pop and Davey Boy Smith makes his way down to the ring in street clothes with a jacket with the union jack on it. He stands next to Lawler who questions his loyalty, calling him a backstabber to Owen Hart.

“Bret Hart has treated me like family since the day I met him and I’ve been watching from afar back in England. Kwang and Harvey Wippleman stand in the ring as we return from commercial. A missile whistles and a nuclear bomb explosion rings through the crowd as Adam Bomb’s theme hits and the fans jump to their feet. Adam Bomb steps out from the curtain and high fives fans at ringside while menacingly glaring at Kwang who stands in the ring.

As Bomb climbs through the ropes Kwang immediately goes to work, hitting Bomb with an axe handle smash on the back as the lights come up and the bell rings.

In a poor match, Adam Bomb defeated Kwang in 9:42 when Kwang was disqualified when Crush ran in and attacked Adam Bomb.

Comments: In what could be an underwhelming finish to an underwhelming feud, Bomb would control most of this one using his strength and athleticism to take control. Pettengill sends it back to Vince.

“It sounds like there’s more than one member of The Million Dollar Corporation has their eyes on Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart’s World Wrestling Federation title.”

We return from an ICO-PRO commercial as the arena lights dim and lights flash in the aisle the hip-hop beats ring out. Oscar raps as he leads Mabel and Mo down to ringside! Mabel sways his arms back and forth as Mo high fives the fans sitting near the barrier. As Mo climbs in the ring the monstrous Mabel steps over the top rope and they continue to hype the fans.

“We’re having fun here tonight!” shouts Vince.

The big Diesel horn blares as Shawn Michaels and Diesel step out of the curtain into the aisle which is now lit with blue lights.

“They better get it out of their system now, McMahon because Diesel looks like he means business,” adds Lawler.

Michaels dances down the aisle while Diesel slowly walks down with a menacing look on his face, staring right at Mabel.

They make their way into the ring, with Diesel stepping over the top, and Michaels flexes as Diesel throws up a fist behind him.

As they remove their entrance attire, Mabel exits the ring first with Diesel next as Michaels and Mo will start this one. The bell rings. Michaels holds his hands up mocking Mo before attempting a quick jab but Mo dodges and hits Michaels with a punch of his own as Michaels chewing gum flies from his mouth.

In a decent match, Diesel & Shawn Michaels defeated Men on a Mission in 11:33 when Diesel defeated Mo by pinfall with a Jacknife Power Bomb. During the match we also had Yokozuna distract Mo.

Comments: There was a lot of build up in this match for the fans who would eventually see the two big men, Mabel and Diesel, go toe to toe in a huge brawl. Another good show ZZM. :)

Not asking you to reveal any spoilers (unless you feel inclined) but what's Jim Cornette up to in your game world? Any plans on bringing him in? That guy is a riot!

I loved Cornette. He's managing Yoko but unfortunately due to ties with Smokey Mountain Wrestling, I can only used him on Superstars and PPVs. I'm trying to figure out a way to bring him in full time but I can't ink him to a deal with his SMW role as head booker.

“The World Wrestling Federation superstars are here and they’re shining bright in Los Angeles, California! Welcome everyone to Monday Night RAW! I’m Vince McMahon here with Jerry “The King” Lawler and tonight we’re going to see world’s collide in a huge six man tag team match as Yokozuna, Crush, and ‘Big Daddy Cool’ Diesel take on Adam Bomb, Mabel, and ‘The Bad Guy’ Razor Ramon!”

“Take a look at that team McMahon! Crush! Yokozuna! AND Diesel?! I’d be very concerned if I was Razor Ramon tonight!”

“On top of that we’ll see the British Bulldog, who made his return to the World Wrestling Federation in the corner of World Heavyweight Champion, Bret Hart, take on Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart!”

Bret Hart’s theme music hits!

“Speaking of the ‘Hitman’ here he comes!”

The lights dim and pink hearts light up the aisle. The fans jump to their feet and pop loudly as Bret Hart makes his way down the aisle! He’s wearing jeans, pink shades, and a leather jacket with the WWF World Heavyweight Title slung over his shoulder. He climbs in the ring a hypes the crowd a bit before hopping to the outside and putting his shades on the face of a little girl sitting at ringside.

He climbs back in the ring where Vince McMahon stands with a microphone. Vince asks Bret about his title defense at SummerSlam, his feud with Owen Hart, and whether he’s heard the recent threats from the Million Dollar Corporation.

“You know, Vince, it doesn’t matter how much of a beating I take, I always get back up. I’ve heard what Lex Luger had to say. I didn’t become the World Heavyweight Champion because I won a popularity contest. I became World champ because I earned it. I earned it because I didn’t make excuses. Now I’ve got Bam Bam Bigelow, ‘The Beast from the East’, painting a target on my back. Bam Bam, I heard your challenge and I accept! I’m ready to defend this belt at every turn and next week on RAW, I’m going to prove to you, once again Bam Bam, that I am the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!”

The fans pop as Bret’s music hits once again!

As we return from the ring, Bob "Spark Plug" Holly loosens up as the ‘Million Dollar Corporation’s theme song hits. The arena lights dim as green dollar signs light up the aisle. Lex Luger steps out of the curtain to a chorus of boos, slowly walking down the aisle. Ted DiBiase walks right along with him in a black suit while Luger sports his new ring attire with black tights, black boots, and black kneepads with gold dollar signs on them similar to what Ted DiBiase used to wear along with the ‘Million Dollar Championship’ belt around his waist. Luger steps into the ring and flexes before removing his belt and handing it off to Ted DiBiase.

The bell rings as Luger and Holly lock up but Luger immediately asserts his dominance my shoving Holly to the mat as we get underway.

In a decent match, Lex Luger defeated Bob Holly in 8:07 by submission with a Torture Rack.

Comments: Bob "Spark Plug" Holly had been on a roll of late but he was no match for the powerful Lex Luger who would gain control of this one early.

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart is making his way to the ring with Owen Hart at his side as we return from commercial. He tells the fans at ringside to shut their mouths as Owen just glares with a sour look on his face. Neidhart climbs in the ring as he and Owen soak in the jeers from the crowd.

‘Rule, Britannia’ hits and the fans hop to their feet as the ‘British Bulldog’ makes his way down the aisle, arms outstretched holding the British flag behind him. He climbs into the ring and flexes in the middle as the flag is projected on the ring mat.

As the lights come up Owen stands on the apron pointing to the Bulldog and Davey Boy Smith motions for him to come in and join the party. Owen hops down off the ring apron with both feet as the bell rings. Neidhart and Bulldog begin to circle each other before locking up.

In a decent match, The British Bulldog defeated Jim Neidhart in 12:03 by pinfall with a Running Powerslam.

Comments: The two powerful stars went toe to toe in this one. We return from commercial for our main event as Yokozuna and Crush stand in the ring as Mr. Fuji waves the Japanese flag from side to side to boos from the crowd.

A Diesel horn blares as ‘Big Daddy Cool’ and Shawn Michaels both make their way down to the ring. Michaels dances down the aisle in street clothes with Diesel slowly walking behind him in his usual leather ring attire. Diesel adjusts his gloved fist as he glares at the fans before climbing onto the ring apron and stepping over the top rope. He raises a fist in the middle as Michaels makes his way to the announce table.

“Gentlemen! To what do you owe the pleasure?” Michaels chimes in.

Tires screech as Razor Ramon’s theme music hits. ‘The Bad Guy’ steps out of the curtain, arms outstretched, in green and gold attire with gold chains around his neck and the Intercontinental Title around his waist. The crowd cheers loudly for Razor who pauses then turns to point back to the entrance as big Mabel and Adam Bomb step out from the curtain.

The three men slowly make their way down to the ring with Razor leading the way. The climb in the ring and before Razor even takes off his vest a brawl ensues, Razor nailing Diesel with a punch, Mabel and Yokozuna coming to blows, and Adam Bomb and Crush nailing each other with haymakers. In a decent match, Adam Bomb, Mabel and Razor Ramon defeated Crush, Yokozuna and Diesel in 12:29 when Razor Ramon defeated Crush by pinfall with a Razor's Edge.

Comments: The referee never truly gained control of this one which essentially gave the crowd over 12 minutes of the big men brawling. The team of Diesel, Yoko, and Crush would gain the advantage using dirty tactics but ultimately Razor would be able to isolate Crush in the middle of the ring and hit the Razor's Edge for the win.

This week’s edition of Monday Night RAW opens up with a video package hyping tonight’s main event, a World Heavyweight Championship match between challenger Bam Bam Bigelow and champion Bret “Hitman” Hart.

Highlights from both stars are shown including clips from matches between the two men, including the 1993 King of the Ring Final where the fans witnessed the ‘Hitman’ earn a pinfall on a victory roll.

Vince McMahon chimes in, “Two weeks ago, ‘The Beast from the East’ Bam Bam Bigelow issued a warning to Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart…”

After the RAW opening video we join Vince McMahon at ringside.

“Welcome everyone, to the city that never sleeps! Welcome everyone, to Las Vegas! Welcome everyone, to Monday Night RAW! I’m Vince McMahon here with Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler’ and tonight we’ll see two of the biggest names in sports entertainment face off as Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart will defend his World Heavyweight Title against Bam Bam Bigelow!”

“That’s right, McMahon. The Million Dollar Corporation has placed a big target on the back of the ‘Hitman’ and tonight I have a good feeling we’re going to see a new World Champion in Bam Bam Bigelow!” adds Lawler.

“Not only that but we’re going to see two of the biggest men in the World Wrestling Federation square off as Yokozuna will take on Mabel!”

“Mabel’s big McMahon, but he’s not Yokozuna. Yokozuna is a former World Champion and one of the most dominant forces in the WWF. Mabel is going to be humbled tonight.”

The Quebecers theme music hits.

“But first we’re going to see some tag team action as Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid will take on The Quebecers, and here they come!”

The fans voice their disdain for the trio as Johnny Polo leads the way in a brightly colored sportscoat and a boat captains hat with a riding crop in his hand. The Quebecers, Jacques and Pierre, follow behind in matching sleeveless Mountie uniforms and aviator sunglasses. They all talk trash to the fans as they make their way down the aisle and into the ring.

Tires screech and the fans hope to their feet and pop loudly as Razor Ramon’s theme music hits. The lights dim and yellow razor blades illuminate the aisle way as Razor steps out from the curtain with his arms outstretched. The 1-2-3 Kid jogs in place behind him before they slowly make their way down the aisle. The Kid slaps the fans hands as Razor slicks back his hair for the camera. The Kid hops onto the apron and over the top rope as Razor climbs in the ring and as Razor points his thumbs to his chest before throwing his arms out in the Razor’s Edge signal, the Kid hops onto the second turnbuckle and holds a hand in the air.

As the lights come back on Razor taunts the Quebecers motioning with his hands for them to bring it. As Jacques approaches Razor tosses his toothpick in his face. Jacques oversells and hits the mat like he just took a bullet to the eye. He rolls out of the ring as Razor also steps out as the bell rings, leaving Pierre and the 1-2-3 Kid to start this one.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, 1-2-3 Kid and Razor Ramon defeated The Quebecers in 11:04 when 1-2-3 Kid defeated Jacques Rougeau by pinfall.

Comments: The Quebecers and their dirty tactics were no match for the 1-2-3 Kid and Razor Ramon in this one. Razor would dominate the match but it would be the 1-2-3 Kid who earned the pinfall after hitting Jacques Rougeau with a Moonsault.

We return from commercial as Mabel makes his way down to the ring being led by Oscar who raps and waves his arms from side to side to the delight of the crowd. Mabel sways his arms from side to side with a smile on his face before climbing the ring steps then steps over the top rope.

“Oh yeah! Look at the size of Mabel! And he’s having some fun tonight!” says Vince

“He better enjoy it while it lasts, McMahon, because Yokozuna is going to wipe that smile right off of his face,” comments Lawler.

They dance in the ring to hype the crowd a bit more before Yokozuna’s music hits. The crowd boos loudly as the big sumo makes his way out of the curtain in a robe led by Mr. Fuji who waves the Japanese flag from side to side.

“Conspicuous by his absence is Jim Cornette who is dealing with matters in Smokey Mountain Wrestling,” says McMahon.

Yokozuna slowly makes his way down to the ring intensely staring at the fans before climbing the steel steps and stepping between the ropes. He removes his robe, tosses salt in the air and begins his pre-match sumo-ritual glaring at Mabel across the ring.

As the bell rings the two men run full force into each other and collide in the middle with both men staggered but neither man falling.

In a decent match, Yokozuna defeated Mabel in 8:15 by pinfall with a Bonzai Drop following interference from Jeff Jarrett. During the match we also had Mr. Fuji distract Mabel.

Comments: Mabel impressed in this one going toe-to-toe with Yokozuna. It even appeared as Mabel was gaining an edge nailing Yokozuna with a huge Samoan Drop, but before Mabel could capitalize, Mr. Fuji would hop on the apron attracting the attention of Mabel and the referee. With Mabel distracted, 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett would continue his war on rap, hopping the barrier at ringside and nailing Mabel in the back with Oscar's boombox. Mabel surprisingly appeared to shake off the shot as Jarrett escaped but Yokozuna would take advantage, dropping the big man near the corner and hitting a Bonzai Drop!

“There you have it. Next week we’ll see the 1-2-3 Kid step in the ring as a major underdog against the near 7-foot monster, ‘Big Daddy Cool’ Diesel! Fans, up next it’s the match that everyone has been waiting for. Bam Bam Bigelow will take on Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart for the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship, and it’s coming up next!”

“Bam! Bam!” Bam Bam Bigelow’s theme music hits and he slowly makes his way down the aisle with a nasty look on his face to loud jeers from the fans. The lights are dimmed and green dollar signs illuminate the aisleway. Ted DiBiase laughs as he leads the way in a black suit, counting out hundred dollar bills, while Bigelow sports his usual flame covered ring attire.

“Ladies and gentlemen the following match is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Title! First, making his way down to the ring, the challenger, from Asbury Park, New Jersey, weighting in at 325 pounds, he is the ‘Beast from the East’ Bam Bam Bigelow!” announces Howard Finkel.

“Here comes Bam Bam Bigelow and it looks like the big man means business tonight!” says Vince.

Bigelow climbs in the ring and bounces off the ropes to loosen up. The music stops and the fans wait in anticipation of the arrival of the World Heavyweight Champion.

The guitars at the beginning of Bret’s theme music hits as the crowd erupts. Pink hearts now illuminate the aisleway as a spotlight shines on the World Champ as he makes his way out of the curtain in black tights with pink flame trim and a pink singlet with a leather jacket and shades on. He’s got the World Heavyweight Title belt slung over his shoulder as he slaps the hands of the fans at ringside who continue to go nuts.

“And his opponent, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at 235 pounds, he is the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion, Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart!”

He continues down the aisle and climbs in the ring holding out his arms taking in the cheers from the crowd before handing off the World title belt to the ringside attendant He steps through the ropes then hops down off the apron, placing his pink shades on the face of a little boy sitting at ringside. He then climbs back in the ring as he and Bigelow stand in the middle getting instructions from referee Earl Hebner. The bell rings and the two circle each other before locking up.

In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Bret Hart defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in 16:49 by pinfall with a Victory Roll. During the match we also had Ted DiBiase distract Bret Hart. Bret Hart makes defence number 4 of his WWF World Heavyweight Championship title.

Comments: As expected, Bigelow and Bret Hart put on an impressive show in a back and forth contest. Hart would spend much of the match trying to take out Bigelow's strong base while Bigelow used his power to thwart the 'Hitman's rallies. DiBiase would try to turn things in this one but as he hopped onto the apron to distract Bret, the 'Hitman' would turn the tides whipping Bigelow into the ropes and sending DiBiase crashing to the floor! Bret would take advantage of their heads colliding, climb onto the second rope and flip over Bigelow, earning the pinfall with a victory role, shades of his 1993 King of the Ring victory over Bigelow, and another World Heavyweight Title defense!

Bret celebrates his big win and is hunched over in the corner as the referee raises his arm and hands him the World Heavyweight Title belt. As Bret continues to recover from a tough match, someone slides in the ring in the opposite corner in a tight black t-shirt and black pants.

It’s Lex Luger! Before Hart can even turn to see who has entered the ring behind him, Luger nails him in the back of the head with a forearm! The crowd boos loudly seeing the cheapshot.

Luger lays the boots to the ‘Hitman’ before slowly dragging him up to his feet. Luger throws Bret’s arm over his shoulder and hoists the battered champion over his shoulders in the Torture Rack. Luger refuses to relinquish the hold as WWF officials begin to pour out from the back. It’s not until the British Bulldog runs into the ring that Luger drops the Hitman to the mat and exits the ring.

Luger, Bam Bam, and DiBiase back their way down the aisle as Luger points to the Hitman and motions putting his World Title belt around his waist while Bulldog tends to his fallen ally.

“What a dastardly attack from Lex Luger!” adds Vince. “Fans, we’re out of time! We’ll see you next week!”
