Try To Take Over The World #2

The show begins with Bray Rotunda and Brodie Lee in the ring. Bray calls out Thoruf Marius, who comes down to the ring. Bray comments on how, when he and Brodie tried to get the upper hand on The Motor City Machine Guns last week, Marius was nowhere to be found, yet later in the show he was able to attack Tyler Black as part of a personal vendetta. Bray goes on to say how he expects Marius to be a team player to remain a part of The Family. Marius nods reluctantly, and all three head to the back.

grade-dplus.jpg

In a decent match, Ryback Reeves defeated KENTA in 8:19 by pinfall with a Silverback Attack following botched interference by Brian Kendrick. During the match we also had Rhino run in and Gore KENTA when the referee's back was turned.

grade-cminus.jpg

Thoruf Marius rounds a corner in a backstage corridor, and he and Tyler Black lock eyes. Black makes a run for it, dives into his car and screeches out of the arena car park. Marius gets in The Family's rental car and gives chase!

grade-d.jpg

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, The Family (Bray & Brodie) defeated The Coollet Club in 7:56 when Bray Rotunda defeated Zack Major by pinfall with a Swinging Reverse STO.

grade-dplus.jpg

After the match, The Motor City Machine Guns run in and attack The Family, laying them out. Thoruf Marius is obviously nowhere to be found, as he left the arena to chase Tyler Black earlier.

grade-dminus.jpg

In a poor match, Cody Rhodes and Pentagon Jr defeated The Ascended in 14:13 when Pentagon Jr defeated Victor Eöus by submission with a Sacrifice, despite Cody Rhodes electing to watch most of the match from the entrance ramp, leaving Pentagon to go it alone.

grade-dplus.jpg

As soon as the bell rang, Ryan O'Connor made it back into the ring and jumped Pentagon, quickly being joined by Victor Eöus in a two-on-one beat down. Seeing this, Cody went to run back down to the ring, but pulled up short, apparently having hurt his leg. After a few minutes of beat down, Cody flashed a smile at the fans at ringside, slid into the ring, and cleaned house, then feigned concern for Pentagon as the show went off the air.

<p>Try To Take Over The World #3</p><p> </p><p>

The show opens with Chris Jericho welcoming the audience to the show, when Jon Good interrupts him. Good demands a rematch with Kazuchika Okada for the Narf Poit Intercontinental Championship. Jericho says that demanding a title shot won't get Good anywhere, and he would have to earn a rematch with Okada in tonight's main event, against the man he avoided defending the title against on a technicality: El Generico!</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-bplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/pWPrR1m/grade-bplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Brodie Lee defeated Chris Sabin in 8:08 by pinfall with a Truck Stop after Bray Rotunda interfered.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-dplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/PzLDNk1/grade-dplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Bray Rotunda cut a promo, telling Brodie Lee how, as long as they stick together, they'll be unstoppable here. He still hopes that Thoruf Marius sees the light and rejoins The Family, but if not, they'll be just fine.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-cplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/1GDwy7k/grade-cplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Brian Kendrick defeated Claudio Castagnoli in 8:25 when Claudio Castagnoli was disqualified when Ryback Reeves ran in and attacked Brian Kendrick.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-cminus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/Vq0Y2Pc/grade-cminus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Claudio Castagnoli is left in the ring, looking confused at what just happened. Suddenly, Tyler Black hit him in the back with an American flag (on a pole, not just the cloth)! Black added insult to injury by laying "Old Glory" across the downed, Swiss, Narf Poit United States Champion. The crowd booed, seeing this as an obvious display of xenophobia, rather than national pride.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-dplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/PzLDNk1/grade-dplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Jon Good defeated El Generico in 14:12 by pinfall by using underhanded tactics.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-bminus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/9nwNXm4/grade-bminus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Narf Poit Intercontinental Champion, Kazuchika Okada comes out onto the stage, and says he looks forward to defending his title against Good.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-c.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/xzJZ3c4/grade-c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Try To Take Over The World #4</p><p> </p><p>

In an extremely short match, Claudio Castagnoli drew with Ryback Reeves in 4:07 when the match descended into chaos after Brian Kendrick and Tyler Black became involved.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-dplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/PzLDNk1/grade-dplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Ryback and Castagnoli regroup outside the ring and immediately challenge Black and Kendrick to a tag team match, seeing as they want to fight! The referee shrugs and rings the bell!</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-dplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/PzLDNk1/grade-dplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

In a decent match, Ryback Reeves and Claudio Castagnoli defeated Tyler Black and Brian Kendrick in 12:18 when Brian Kendrick intentionally got counted out while fighting Ryback Reeves.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-cminus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/Vq0Y2Pc/grade-cminus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Jon Good calls out Okada. Okada's music hits, but a Japanese little person with dyed blonde hair comes out as quarters fall onto his head, clearly mocking Okada's rainmaker entrance. After plenty of mockery, Okada has heard enough and clears the ring, hitting a hellacious Rainmaker on the little person as Good escapes!</p><p> </p><p>

In a decent match, Pentagon Jr defeated Chris Jericho in 14:19 by pinfall with a Fear Factor following interference from Kevin Steen.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="grade-cplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/1GDwy7k/grade-cplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Steen and Pentagon are continuing the attack on Jericho when Shinsuke Nakamura's music hits! He may have his arm in a sling, but he also has a kendo stick, which he swings wildly and clears the ring, saving Jericho!</p><p> </p><p>

KENTA vs Rhino

KENTA and Rhino have been having issues since the first Narf Poit event, Death March, when KENTA eliminated Rhino from the Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Narf Poit United States Championship, only to be viciously Gored by Rhino and eliminated by the opportunistic Matti Wild.

KENTA got revenge on Wild at April Showers, but after the match suffered another Gore from Rhino! Now KENTA looks for revenge on Rhino, but that could be easier said than done...

On the very first episode of Narf Poit "Try To Take Over The World," The Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Coollet Club to become number one contenders for the Narf Poit Tag Team Championships. After the match, The Family tried to attack The MCMG, but Shelley & Sabin fought them off.

The Family have been having their own issues with Thoruf Marius, trying to recruit him into the fold, but he's been pre-occupied with Tyler Black, resulting in the Machine Guns getting the better of Rotunda and Lee at every turn! Will that pattern continue, or can The Family come out on top, with or without Marius' help?

At Narf Poit April Showers, Jon Good had to defend his Intercontinental Championship against a mystery challenger, who turned out to be El Generico. However, thanks to an optional clause in the Narf Poit rule book, Good refused the challenge.

Jericho was one step ahead of Good, however, and provided a second mystery challenger: Kazuchika Okada! Okada won the match and the championship, and Good had to go through El Generico to get a rematch. Now that he has his rematch, will he regain the title?

Special Referee: Shinsuke Nakamura

At Death March, Kevin Steen attacked Claudio Castagnoli after he won the United States Championship. As punishment, Chris Jericho not only stripped Steen of his opportunity to become the first-ever Narf Poit Heavyweight Champion, but suspended him on the spot!

Steen's replacement, Shinsuke Nakamura, went on to win the title, then went on to lose it one month later to Cody Rhodes, after which Steen attacked Nakamura, injuring him in the process. Then, on the very first "Try To Take Over The World," Steen distracted Jericho, costing him a match against Tyler Black, and another match against Pentagon Jr on "Try To Take Over The World" #4, where Jericho announced he would face Steen, with the injured Nakamura as the special guest referee!

Can Steen overcome these seemingly insurmountable odds? More importantly, does anyone really want him to?

At Death March, Tyler Black took out Thoruf Marius before the Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Narf Poit United States Championship, taking his place and eventually winning the title! However, Black had a scheduled match later in the show against Claudio Castagnoli and, after Black cost Chris Jericho his match against Jon Good, he was forced to put his newly won Championship on the line against Castagnoli!

Castagnoli took advantage of being the fresher man and won the title, giving Black an early place in the Narf Poit record books for what is likely to be the shortest title reign for a long time. At April Showers, Black lost to Jericho, but at the first "Try To Take Over The World," Black got his win back and earned himself this rematch.

A week and a half ago, Black attacked Castagnoli, laying the American flag over Claudio's face, clearly making a statement about the Swiss wrestler holding the United States Championship. Can Black regain the Championship he held for an embarrassingly short amount of time, or will Castagnoli continue to prove that you don't have to be American to be a great United States Champion?

Brian Kendrick vs Ryback Reeves

At Death March, Brian Kendrick held an open challenge, which was answered by Ryback Reeves! Ryback quickly disposed of Kendrick, leading to Kendrick demanding a rematch at April Showers, which he craftily won by count-out.

Not content with this, Kendrick tried to interfere in Ryback's match with KENTA at "Try To Take Over The World" #2. The following week, Ryback attacked Kendrick during his match with Claudio Castagnoli, inadvertently giving Kendrick the victory by DQ. Then, a few days ago, Tyler Black and Kendrick gatecrashed a match between Castagnoli and Ryback, leading to a tag match, which Kendrick walked out on, taking the intentional count-out loss. Now, with a steel cage surrounding the ring, there will be no count-out victory, and no walking away from the match. Can Kendrick survive? Or could he even win, somehow?

Cody Rhodes © vs Pentagon Jr

Last month, at April Showers, Pentagon Jr won the Último Dragón Memorial Ladder match to earn himself a shot at the Narf Poit Heavyweight Championship. On the same show, Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura for the title, setting up this encounter. Can Rhodes become the first man to successfully defend the Narf Poit Heavyweight Championship, or will Pentagon's momentum (he beat Chris Jericho just a few days ago) carry him to victory?

Try To Take Over The World #6 Preview

  • This week’s Try To Take Over The World will come to you live from the SpiritBank Event Center in Bixby, Oklahoma! Following the passing of wrestling legend, Pat Patterson this past week, Chris Jericho took to Twitter to announce an 8-man tournament to crown a number one contender for the Narf Poit Intercontinental Championship, culminating in South America, much like Patterson’s legendary (if somewhat questionable) victory in Rio de Janeiro to become the WWE’s first ever Intercontinental Champion! This week, there will be two first-round matches:
    • Jack Evans vs Tyler Black
    • Jon Good vs Ryback Reeves

[*]There will also be a non-tournament match:

    • Chris Jericho & El Generico vs Cody Rhodes & Kazuchika Okada

[*]Will the two champions gel as a team, or will their potential challengers gain momentum? (El Generico will be in an Intercontinental title tournament match next week!)

Try To Take Over The World #6

Chris Jericho announced an 8-man tournament to decide the next challenger for Kazuchika Okada’s Intercontinental Championship in honour of the late Pat Patterson. This brought out El Generico, who Jericho announced would have a spot in the tournament next week. Generico requested that he and Jericho, as “fellow Canadians… I mean, a Canadian and a Mexican” team up tonight, which brought out Narf Poit Heavyweight Champion, Cody Rhodes. Rhodes volunteered to be on the other side of the ring, which finally brought out Okada! Okada and Rhodes shook hands, and the main event was set!

Castagnoli ducked a swing and escaped the ring, leading Black to hit Evans in the gut with the chair, followed by a Curb Stomp onto the chair! At that point, Castagnoli rushed back into the ring and Black fled.
