<p>Couple years left in-game but I plan to briefly retire Jack Tunney as my on-screen commissioner by 1989 then have someone else take over until 1991 (Then Tunney will resume from 91-93) But who would be a good short term replacement for Tunney? By 1993 I will be having the UC Vince McMahon be the authority figure but from 89-91 I'm slumped for ideas. </p><p> </p><p>

The only idea I have at the moment is bringing Bob Backlund back but as a heel to fill the role, could lead to some interesting storylines especially as a final storyline for Hogan too.</p><p> </p><p>

Please share your ideas and suggestions!</p>

Who do you have Billy Graham managing? I have him as a semi-active wrestler at the moment so having him as an AF or manager would be interesting, considering the only plans I have for him at the moment is being the special guest ref for Hogan v Ventura at WM4

Survivor Series 1987 results will be up soon! Includes the debut of not one, but two future world champions!

Also an update regarding Paul Orndorff,

His contract was up and a bidding war commenced for his services. Not only were the WWF trying to get him back but AWA and WCW also bidded for him. Unfortunately, in the end, he decided to take his talents to the American Wrestling Association. This now means his match against Hogan at Madison Square Garden in December is now off the cards. Hogan's return match in December will now be a tag team match instead as he will team with Brutus Beefcake against Bob Orton and Magnificent Muraco to main event the December PPV. Hogan's feud with Ventura will then commence in January.

EDIT: Straight after posting this I lost another wrestler as Roddy Piper decided to sign with WCW instead of resigning with me. He was strongly interested in the two of us and with me throwing more money and better bonuses at him I was sure he would sign for me. But unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I will now look to bring him back in 1990 when his WCW contract is up.

Playing the Superfly Effect mod as WWF:

Sunday,4th Week of November 1987, WWF Survivor Series:

LIVE: FROM THE COMCAST CENTER, IN COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND!

Tonight's broadcast begins with a pre-taped segment featuring WWF commissioner Jack Tunney, sitting behind his desk in the WWF headquarters. "Unfortunately I am currently attending other important matters within the World Wrestling Federation. Therefore, I will unable to attend tonight's show but I would like to wish all of the competitors' inaction luck tonight and to all of the fans watching at home and at the arena, I hope every single one of you enjoys tonight's event." (84, B+)

We then go backstage where "Mean" Gene stands alongside Honky Tonk Man, Jerry Lawler, Greg Valentine and Jimmy Hart. With the main subject being who Randy Savage will announce as his partners tonight. "God damn Mean Gene, I could care less who that mad man has planned to be his partners tonight because the results going to be the same either way. Team Memphis walking out as the victors. And oh, Savage, tell Miss Elizabeth the encore can be found in my hotel room, room number 901 haha." (85, B+)

Our first survivor series match-up then gets underway as Team Lethal consisting of Larry Cameron, Paul Roma and The Steiner Brothers take on Team Duggan who consists of Jim Duggan, Jim Powers and The Black Supermen. Paul Roma and Jim Powers both get the action started for their respective teams and the former young stallions get right into it! Paul Roma easily shows that Powers was the weak link of their former tag team, however, as Roma quickly eliminates Jim Powers, giving Team Lethal the 4 on 3 advantage. Black Superman #1 is next in the ring who has better luck than Jim Powers, bringing a real fight to team Lethal, especially when getting into double team action with Black Superman #2. Unfortunately, a Steiner device in the middle of the match sees Rick Steiner eliminate Superman #1. Superman #2 is in but finds himself quickly eliminated by Rick Steiner too. Leaving Jim Duggan all alone. As always, the fans are behind Jim Duggan who doesn't let this disadvantage stop him, brawling with Rick Steiner, eventually hitting him with a running clothesline tackle and pinning him. 3 vs 1. Duggan eventually tires due to having no one else to tag out too. Larry Cameron is tagged in and eventually finishes a tired Duggan off with the Lethal Injection, giving team Lethal the victory. (59, C)

Backstage, Vince McMahon joins the Hart Family who has a match later tonight against The Red Army. "This family is the greatest family in Wrestling history. The Red Army has had our number a few times but when all of this family stands by each other we can do anything and we'll show that tonight. This family is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be." (56, C-)

Our next survivor series match of the night pits Team Demolition consisting of Demolition Ax & Smash, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Ted DiBiase against Team Legion, consisting of the Road Warriors, Ricky Steamboat and Tito Santana. Roberts and Steamboat start off the action and remain in the ring for a good ten minutes of this 30-minute match. Roberts eventually hits Steamboat with a DDT, leaves the ring, and walks to the back, getting himself counted out. DiBiase is next in and pins Steamboat who is still down in the middle of the ring, quickly making it 3 vs 3. The match goes on with each team cautiously trying not to get at a disadvantage, but all hell breaks loose which sees Demolition and The Road Warriors brawl on the outside, eventually going into the crowd, forcing the referee to DQ all four men. This leaves DiBiase in the ring with a distracted Santana so DiBiase applies the million dollar team as Santana taps, giving the victory to Team Demolition. (81, B)

"Mean" Gene interviews Ted DiBiase post-match asking him how he feels being the sole survivor of his team and getting them the victory. "I could care less about this stupid match. I only agreed to it so I could get my hands on Tito Santana. But now I am just looking forward to giving a beating to Santana even more next week and prove once and for all, I'm the sole television champion." (72, B-)

Our next match, our only singles match of this evening sees Andre The Giant taking on the newest Heenan family member Bob Orton Jr who has been brought into the family after Paul Orndorff reportedly left the family. Bob Orton battled well against Andre The Giant, looking as if he could actually be the Heenan family member to slay the giant after staggering him numerous times in the match. Andre The Giant eventually got the better of him, however, finishing Orton off with the bodyslam. (81, B)

After the match, Andre The Giant calls out Vader, to the surprise of many, especially Bobby Heenan. Vader eventually comes out and goes face to face with Andre. No one attacks. Andre simply says, "Me. You. Wrestlemania." (98, A*)

The Semi-Main Event of the evening sees The Hart Family (Bret, Owen, Ross, Bruce and Jim) taking on The Red Army (Koloff, Volkoff, Zhukov, Ustinov and Petrov) The Red Army who have an advantage this whole time finally see the numbers equal. The youngest Hart, Owen gets the action started off against Ustinov and shows us that despite his young age he shouldn't be pushed around, showing he is just as good as the other Hart family members. Jesse Ventura makes a remark on commentary how "Owen Hart's style is very similar to that Conquistador fellow, have you noticed Monsoon?" and "I'm not saying they're the same person but I certainly haven't seen that masked loser as of late." Owen Hart eventually gets the Hart signature sharpshooter locked into Ustinov, making him tap out and giving the Hart Family the 5 on 4 advantage. The match eventually ends with Bret Hart fighting back and forth against Nikita Koloff, eventually getting him down with the fast roll up to win the match for the Hart Family, leaving Bret and Owen as the only survivors! (66, C+)

Before our next match, the commentary team discuss what we have seen tonight. Eventually, Team Memphis consisted of Honky Tonk Man, Jerry Lawler and Greg Valentine make their way to the ring for tonight's main event. Randy Savage then comes out, alone. Which gives The Team Memphis members a good laugh. "Mean" Gene meets Randy Savage at ringside and asks him if he was unable to find a team. "Listen here Mean Gene, the macho maynn could easily take out these hillbillies in the ring, yeaah, but when I say I'm gonna find the 'Ultimate' Team that means the macho mayn is gonna do just that, oh yeaah. Mean Gene I want you to meet my team tonight, the man that call Sting ohhh yeahh and The Warrior!" Sting and The Warrior who was last seen wrestling in WCW are here tonight, at Survivor Series! Sting And Warrior join Macho Man by the ring as team Memphis now looks a little more intimidated. "Say Hello to Team Madness, ohhhhh yeaaah" (91, A)

The match gets underway with The Warrior starting off for Team Madness against Team Memphis leader, Honky Tonk Man. Honky Tonk Mans offence doesn't seem to do anything to The Warrior who easily gets Honky Tonk man down and hits him with his finisher the big splash to eliminate The Team Memphis leader is just 31 seconds! Jerry Lawler and Greg Valentine manage to last longer than HTM, as the match goes on for over 30 minutes, with both teams fighting hard. Eventually, Sting eliminates Jerry Lawler and leaves Greg Valentine all alone with Sting who gets him down and finishes him with his signature elbow drop. Team Memphis had no chance against this superteam! (82, B)

After the match, this superteam known as Team Madness celebrate together but was this a one time alliance or we will see a lot more of these three men together... (82, B)

Final Rating: 85, B+

Additional Information:

- Sting was on a PPA deal with both AWA and WCW not long after AWA but the World Title on him his contract was up. Both AWA and WCW wanted him on a written deal so I knew I had to make my move and bring Sting in earlier than expected. I decided because I'm bringing Sting in I'll bring in The Warrior too, just to complete Randy Savages Survivor Series Team. Sting and Warrior will now team with each other for a while until I have bigger plans for them.

- I've brought Lawler in on a PPA deal for a year, mainly because he will be filling in as the colour commentator when Ventura gets back into the ring in January.

- I have the final card for Madison Square Garden next month all planned out already, and apart from WrestleMania IV I think this is the PPV I have been looking forward the most to book, mainly because it is the return of Hogan.

Apologises if this write-up seemed a lot lazier. It is harder I think to write about elimination matches.

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Playing the Superfly Effect mod as WWF:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Sunday, 4th Week of December 1987, WWF IYH: Madison Square Garden:</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>LIVE: FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IN NEW YORK CITY!</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The show opens with "Mean" Gene Okerlund standing in the middle of the ring welcoming fans to the greatest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden! He then hypes up tonight's main event which features Hulk Hogan in-action for the first time since his injury! Okerlund then faces to his guests who are in the ring with him, former WWF World Heavyweight Champions, Bruno Sammartino and Billy Graham! The men talk about all the battles they have had in this ring with many different competitors and say that the audiences at Madison Square Garden were always the most fierce, something they expect again tonight. <em>"I would like to finish off with saying thank you to--"</em> Bruno Sammartino is interrupted by the monster Vader who is accompanied by Bobby Heenan. <em>"Vader is sick and tired of hearing from has-beens. People who should've left the industry. We have to see Andre week in, week out already so this is bad enough. How about you get out of this ring? Leave the ring to those who aren't suffering from a severe case of Arthritis."</em> Sammartino and Graham look at each other and laugh, <em>"You know Heenan? How about you get another one of your unfortunate sons down here right now and we'll have ourselves a little tag team match? We'll be happy to show we can still hold our own."</em> Vader and Heenan look at each other. Vader nods as Heenan calls out for Vaders partner tonight, Mr Perfect. Gorilla Monsoon is surprised, making the remark that <em>"I wasn't expecting to see this tonight!"</em> <strong>(92, A)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Mr Perfect starts off the action for his team as 'Superstar' Billy Graham gets it started for his team. Mr Perfect once again shows why he simply is perfect, wrestling so well he makes Billy Graham look like he is still in his prime! The Heenan family do such a good job of cutting off the ring, or maybe because the old-timers can't keep up! Eventually, Sammartino is tagged in and receives a huge pop from the Madison Square Garden crowd! Unfortunately, Sammartino is no match for Vader who delivers his signature Powerbomb to him and officially ends the match. <em>"The Giant is probably shivering in his boots right now!"</em> Ventura says. <strong>(77, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, "Mean" Gene stands alongside Hulk Hogan. Mean Gene asks Hogan how it feels to be able to step in-between those ropes once again. <em>"Oh man Mean Gene, The Hulkster has been waiting for his moment for so longer brother, no matter if I'm sitting at home or keeping busy all I could think was I can't wait to be back. Nothing warms my heart like seeing thousands of little Hulkamaniacs cheering and smiling at me, brother, and to make my return at the garden brother? I don't think I could wish for a better return."</em> <strong>(88, B+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Elsewhere backstage, 'Lethal' Larry Cameron with slick at his side has a few words for his opponent in the match coming up next, Jim Duggan. <em>"The Lethal one would rather be elsewhere right now. I hate New York and I especially hate this god damn Madison Square Garden. I should be out partying at the finest clubs in Los Angeles but instead, I'm expected to get in the ring with Uncle Sam again? The Lethal one ain't got time for that, The Baddest Man on the planet is still waiting for some better competition. But if Duggan really wants to feel that Lethal Injection in his veins, then he betta get ready."</em> <strong>(68, C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Larry Cameron eventually makes his way down to the ring to once again face Jim Duggan. Last week on raw, Cameron assaulted Duggan after his match against Scott Hansen with his signature chain before attacking him with his own 2x4 too. It will be interesting to see how Duggan holds up tonight against Cameron. The match starts off slow, mainly with Cameron taking advantage of a hurt Duggan. A classic U-S-A chant breaks out but for once Cameron ruins any attempts for this to pump him up. Duggan does attempt a late comeback but by this point, the damage is already done, Cameron finishes him off with the Lethal Injection and pins him. Cameron wins as the Madison Square Garden fans throw trash at Cameron and Slick as they walk back up the ramp. <strong>(72, B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Vince McMahon stands alongside WWF Commissioner Jack Tunney regarding tonights final for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. <em>"Tonight the final of the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship tournament will take place. Jake Roberts will face Ricky Steamboat. These two men have had much bad blood as of late but I would like to see that finally settled and buried tonight. Therefore tonight's final will now be a two out of three falls match. This should surely be fair enough for you both to settle whatever you have against each other and get back to representing the good morals that we have here in the World Wrestling Federation. Thank you."</em> <em>"Good morals? In wrestling"</em> Ventura laughs. <em>"Oh shut up Ventura."</em> <strong>(77, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Our next match pits British Bulldog against Scott Hansen. British Bulldog has had bad blood with the Hansen cousins for a while so tonight he will finally get his hands on one of them. As soon as that bell rings the two men go at it, brawling hard and tough, showing that an angry Brit sure can out brawl an even angrier Texan. A mistake by Scott Hansen gives Bulldog a chance and he hits Hansen with the running powerslam! Not wanting to lose fairly, Stan Hansen runs in and makes the save, hitting the British Bulldog with a devastating lariat! The referee awards the DQ victory to the bulldog. <strong>(74, B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Post-match the Hansen Cousins beat The British Bulldog down. He may have been able to out-brawl one tough, angry Texan but he sure as hell isn't going to out-brawl two of them! Ventura then makes a remark, <em>"See Gorilla? No good morals in this sport."</em> <strong>(68, C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A Limo pulls up in the car park. The driver's seat opens and outcomes Virgil. Virgil opens the back door of the limo as Mr Wallstreet exits with a see-through briefcase which inside features the original Television title in one hand, and a black briefcase in the other hand. Shortly after, 'The million dollar man' Ted DiBiase, dressed in a white and gold suit exits the limo. DiBiase vs. Santana up next. Both Television titles on the line. <strong>(65, C)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Ted DiBiase makes his way to the ring first with his fellow cronies. Virgil now holds the Television title whilst Mr Wallstreet is only holding the black briefcase now. Tito Santana soon comes down with the other television title tonight. Only one of these men tonight can call themselves the 'real' Television champion. The bell finally rings and Santana rushes at DiBiase which prompts him to slide out of the ring. Santana shrugs as DiBiase discusses something with his cronies. As the referees' count reaches seven, DiBiase eventually returns to the ring to fight with Tito Santana. Santana uses his speed to his advantage often getting the upper hand over his rival. Early on Santana hits DiBiase with a flying forearm and almost finishes him off but DiBiase kicks out at two! Towards the end of the match, Santana finally gets DiBiase down for what seems to be for good and applies the figure-four lock! The lock is kept on for a good amount of time. Virgil eventually manages to get the refs attention as DiBiase taps but the ref didn't see it! Mr Wallstreet then proceeds to break up the lock by smashing the black briefcase right into Santana's face, busting him open! When the ref focuses back on the match he sees DiBiase now with his arm around Santana. 1...2...3! DiBiase is the undisputed WWF Television champion! Only thanks to the help from his cronies! <strong>(79, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Jack Tunney makes his way to the ring. <em>"DiBiase the referee may not have seen what happened then but I sure did. Therefore, I am overruling the referee's decision and awarding the victory to--"</em> DiBiase interrupts him, <em>"I don't think that would be a wise decision Tunney. Not what we have inside that black briefcase. So before you make your decision, I think it is best that I, Mr Wallstreet and yourself head to your office and discuss what is inside that briefcase, don't you? hahaha"</em> Tunney adjusts his tie, gulps and nods his head as they all proceed to walk backstage. <em>"Hey Million Dollar Man, I wanna know what's in there too!"</em> Shouts Ventura. <strong>(72, B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The next match of the night is one many of us have been waiting for since the title was vacated the night after Summerslam! The final of the WWF Intercontinental Championship tournament as Jake 'The Snake' Roberts takes on Steamboat. There has been a lot of bad blood between the two of these men since Roberts blames Steamboat for there team losing against Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine at Summerslam. The match gets underway with Roberts quickly hitting Steamboat with a DDT. 1...2...3! Roberts has secured the first pinfall tonight already! Steamboat doesn't let him get the next pinfall so easy after though as he fights back hard against Roberts. In a match that went over 30 minutes, it truly showed that both men would put it all on the line just to get one over the other. Around the 26th minute mark, Steamboat gets an unexpected Roberts down with the quick roll-up which ties the score up 1-1. Only one more fall for one of these men to crown our newest Intercontinental champion. Roberts manages to hit another DDT on Steamboat but luckily for him he managed to get a foot on the rope, ensuring Roberts didn't get the victory. Roberts who is just motivated by anger tonight starts to get complacent, Steamboat takes complete advantage of this and hits Roberts with the flying Karate chop. 1....2....3! Ricky Steamboat has won the final of the tournament! The Dragon is our new Intercontinental Champion! <strong>(95, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, Steamboat being the good sport that he is offers a handshake to Roberts, despite his evil attacks as of late Steamboat is still willing to show respect to this man. Roberts, to everyone's surprise, shakes his hand! Roberts lifts Steamboats arm in the air for victory with Steamboat carrying the title up high in his other hand. But then out of nowhere, Roberts hits Steamboat with the DDT! He then picks up the IC title for a moment and stares at it, before placing it on Steamboats back. He then crouches down at Steamboat, smiling menacingly, before getting up and walking to the back. Leaving Steamboat down and out. <strong>(100, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Our next match sees the WWF World Tag Team Champions, The Hart Foundation, defending their belts against The Red Army and Demolition. If the Hart Foundation happened to not be feeling confident about defending against one team, they surely have their work cut out for them now. The match at times seems to fall into chaos with members of each time brawling outside. This brawling happens to be what costs The Hart Foundation the belts. Bret Hart is distracted by The Red Army's attack on Neidhart on the outside which allows Demolition Ax to get Bret Hart with the roll-up. Demolition is your new WWF World Tag Team Champions! <strong>(78, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, "Mean" Gene interviews Ted DiBiase about the contents of that briefcase. <em>"Okerlund I highly advise you not to get involved in private business matters. Just let me tell you this. Everybody's got a price for the million dollar man, HA HA HA HA."</em> <strong>(71, B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Our semi-main event features the newly named King Honky Tonk taking on Randy Savage once again for the WWF World Championship. Honky Tonk for the first time in a while will not be coming down with Jimmy Hart as Honky Tonk was warned last week on RAW that if Jimmy Hart or anyone else comes down to the ring and aids him he will be fired on the spot. So this time around, Honky Tonk must try and get a win over Macho Man with no help. Macho Man doesn't give Honky Tonk any chance at taking the offence at all, still clearly angered by Honky Tonk taking Miss Elizabeth a couple of weeks ago. Both men eventually start brawling to the outside, Savage even clotheslines Honky Tonk Man over the guard railing into the crowd! Both men still are able to beat the ten count though and get back to fighting in the ring. In the end, King Honky Tonk got what the rest of us expected from the start, a flying elbow to put this match to an end, Savage wins and retains his World Heavyweight Championship! <strong>(88, B+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Hogan who is on his way to his match bumps into Savage who just retained his world title. <em>"Good job out there, brother!"</em> Savage brushes him off, much to the confusion of Hogan. <em>"Well how would you feel Monsoon if you were the world champion and had your moment overshadowed by the return of Hulkamania"</em> <strong>(100, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tonight's main event of the night pits Hulk Hogan teaming alongside his good friend Brutus Beefcake as they face off against the team of Bob Orton and Magnificent Muraco. Beefcake and Orton get the action started. Beefcake and Hogan often got outmanoeuvred by Orton and Muraco, using great teamwork to ensure Beefcake can't tag out. In the middle of this match, Muraco hit Beefcake with a suplex and attempts to pin him but thankfully Beefcake kicked out at 2. Eventually, Beefcake manages to tag into Hogan as the fans go wild straight away! Hogan hits Muraco with the big boot before dropping his signature atomic leg drop onto Muraco. 1...2....3!!! Hogan and Beefcake win! The Hulkster is back! <strong>(92, A)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake celebrate with all the Hulkamaniacs who are happy to see the return of their hero! <strong>(100, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Final Rating: 94, A</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Additional Information:</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

- Roberts vs. Steamboat= Money. I will run this until a month after Wrestlemania.</p><p>

- Demolition will most likely drop the belt at Wrestlemania IV to The Road Warriors.</p><p>

- DiBiase will award the Television title to Virgil at Royal Rumble who will lose it on the same night to Santana. This will then wrap up that feud as DiBiase will go onto win the Royal Rumble and eventually face Savage at Mania. Santana will then feud with Mr Perfect who will eventually be the Television champion.</p><p>

- That Hogan return match turned out to be gold so I am feeling confident about his Wrestlemania match against Jesse Ventura.</p><p>

- I've now wrapped up the Duggan vs. Cameron feud. Cameron won't have any major feuds until Wrestlemania IV now then as I am waiting for the Bulldog and Hansen feud to finish up first. Cameron will remain undefeated during this time.</p><p>

- King Honky Tonk alongside Greg Valentine will now feud with The Warrior and Sting.</p><p>

- The Hart Foundation vs. Red Army feud will wrap up at Wrestlemania IV.</p><p>

- DiBiase/Tunney is somewhat if a side story that I will be running alongside his main storyline at the moment.</p><p> </p><p>

This was definitely a show I was looking forward to booking and I am glad it has done so well. Steamboat vs. Roberts did amazingly, and Hogan/Beefcake vs. Orton/Muraco did way better than expected!</p>

What system you playing that on dude?

Have you loaded mods of other feds?

I'm playing it on PS4! if you're on PS4 and own that game drop your PSN ID and we can play online sometime.

And I've downloaded a lot of wrestlers then created stables and feds for them, Currently running a 12 promotion Promoter Mode, real feds involved are:

AAA

WCW

WWE

WWF

ECW

IMPACT

NEW JAPAN

NXT

Having a lot of fun with it right now, into my fourth year as an American King's Road fed called Kings of Wrestling, spent my entire third year of promoter mode running shows in Japan for the pop!

In other news, also currently writing up The Royal Rumble for my TEW save so that'll be up soon! Also hope the fact it was moved to a new forum doesn't cause any confusion.

<em>Sunday,4th Week of January 1988, WWF Royal Rumble:</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">LIVE: FROM HUNTINGTON STADIUM, IN HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA!</span></em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Attendance: 30,000</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

World Wrestling Federation Commissioner Jack Tunney opens up The Royal Rumble pay-per-view by welcoming fans to the first huge event of the new year. Tunney then runs through that the rules of the royal rumble will be as followed; Two men will start in the ring with another competitor entering the ring every two minutes until all thirty men are in the ring. The only way to win this match is to throw your opponent over the top rope. The last man in the ring will be declared the Royal Rumble winner and will earn themselves a WWF World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania IV. <em>Last but not least I would like to say I hope you all enjoy tonight's big event. And best of luck to each of the 30 competitors that will be battling it out tonight."</em> <strong>(85, B+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Ted DiBiase stands alongside Virgil backstage where he can be seen showing Virgil a ticket, smiling, before placing into the pocket of his tuxedo. <em>I didn't think you had a ticket?"</em> Virgil asks. <em>"Come on now Virgil you should know by now... Everybody's got a price for the million dollar man HAHA. That reminds me. I won't be needing this tonight. It's all yours. Good luck in your match"</em> DiBiase passes Virgil the WWF Television championship! <em>"What are you saying--"</em> <em>"Yes, you are hereby the new TV champ, now if you would excuse me, Virgil, I've got a few phone calls to make."</em> DiBiase walks off as Virgil smiles at his new title... But can he hold it long enough to celebrate? We'll find out soon enough, Virgil takes on Tito Santana, up next! <strong>(64, C)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As a happy Virgil makes his way to the ring the announce team are discussing what number Ted DiBiase could possibly have to tonights Royal Rumble match to confidently have him give up his Television title! <em>"All I know is that things are looking much easier tonight for Santana, he went from having to deal with a skilled but sneaky Competitor in DiBiase to just a simple lackey!" </em> Both men are finally in the ring as the bell rings to start the match off. Virgil and Santana both grapple for position which Santana wins easily, he then gets behind Virgil and delivers a dropkick to his back which sends Virgil right into the ropes. Virgil responds by rushing at Santana who once again just dropkicks Virgil and sends him back to the ropes once again. Virgil shakes his head and angrily charges at Santana once again who meets him halfway with a flying forearm smash which grounds the TV champion! Santana applies the Figure-Four Leglock which quickly forces Virgil to tap out! Ladies and Gentlemen, Tito Santana is finally the <em>true</em> WWF Television Champion. <strong>(66, C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the match is over, Larry Cameron comes out without his manager Slick. He stands at the top of the ramp until Santana finally notices the Lethal one is there. <em>"Don't celebrate too soon chump, you can lose that belt as quickly as you can get it, as we just saw. I'm comin' for you and that belt Tito, cus some gold around my waist is the only thing I'm missin' right now."</em> <strong>(66, C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Next-up we have our new WWF World Tag Team Champions Demolition in action against The Rougeau Brothers who managed to secure a victory over The Legion of Doom! Due in part actually because of interference from Demolition that helped Jacques get the roll-up for the victory. Raymond Rougeau gets the action started for his team as Ax get's it started for Demolition. The Rougeau Brothers have us questioning if they even deserved this shot tonight because Demolition dominates practically the whole match, even letting both brothers freely tag out just so they can deliver an even harder beating next time around. In the end, Demolition finish toying with them and end the match with a Demolition Decapitation to retain their WWF Tag team titles. <em>"I think if Legion of Doom were in this match right now instead of those brothers, we would be looking at not only a longer match but possibly new tag team champions too, folks."</em> Jim Ross says. <strong>(71, B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund stands alongside the current WWF World Heavyweight champion, 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage who won't be competing in tonight's Royal Rumble match tonight. <em>So tonight Macho Man, you have to sit back and watch 30 over men battle it out for the opportunity to face you at Wrestlemania IV for the World Title, who do you think will be the one to outlast everyone else tonight and get that chance?"</em> Okerlund asks. <em>"The macho maaaayn doesn't CARE who wins tonight, no matter if it's Bobo Brazil, that big monster Vader or even Hogan, the result will be the same, the Macho Man leaving Wrestlemania with the World Title still around his waist, ohhhh yeaaaah"</em> <strong>(93, A)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Back to the ring for tonight's semi-main event, Ricky 'the dragon' Steamboat has been a fighting Intercontinental champion so far but last week he got the biggest challenge so far. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts who has unfinished business challenged Steamboat who happily accepted, who himself still has unfished issues with Roberts. The in-ring action between the two proves to be as exciting as their previous match last month at Madison Square Garden. The biggest surprise seemed to be from Roberts who delivered a DDT to Steamboat late into the match and then rolled out the ring and going to the top of the ramp, allowing himself to be counted out whilst Steamboat lays in the ring. <strong>(95, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Roberts requested a microphone and said <em>"I don't want your belt right now, Dragon. I just want you to know I can beat you anytime I want. For now, this can be a lesson to you. But at Wrestlemania, I'm not only ending your title reign. I'll also end your damn career."</em> <strong>(100, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After this commotion is dealt with and a brief discussion of what we have seen tonight, the main event, the royal rumble, is finally ready to begin. With our first two entrants making their way to the ring. Mr Perfect and Jim Duggan. <strong>(81, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Over an hour of action has taken place in this Royal Rumble match! Entrant #1 Mr Perfect has finally been eliminated by the monster Vader who now has four eliminations tonight! 5...4...3...2...1! Entrant #30 is here and it's none other than Ted DiBiase! <em>"No wonder he doesn't want that TV title no more, there's his golden ticket to Wrestlemania right there!"</em> DiBiase simply walks around the ring letting the action continue before the officials inform him he must get in the ring. Once in the ring he quickly eliminates Kevin Von Erich, and now we're down to the final five. DiBiase. Hogan. A surprise entry, Jesse Ventura. Vader. And Andre The Giant. DiBiase and Ventura spend a good deal of time double teaming the Hulkster, the real fan favourite tonight whilst Vader and his rival Andre brawl away. Eventually, Vader sends Andre over the top rope for his fifth eliminations, before eliminating himself and continues brawling with Andre! <em>"Either Vader is incredibly stupid and has forgotten the point of this match or was clearly here to deal with Andre!"</em> That leaves just three! DiBiase, Ventura and Hogan. DiBiase and Ventura continue trying to work together to eliminate Hogan who keeps fighting on, eventually sending DiBiase back who rolls under the bottom ropes for a moment of rest. He eventually returns to the ring just before The Hulkster has sent Jesse Ventura over the top rope! We're down to the last two. DiBiase and Hogan! The two men brawl for a good five minutes, both failing to get each other the top rope but towards the end, DiBiase Irish whips Hogan to the ropes who is grabbed by Ventura! Ventura holds his arms long enough for DiBiase to charge Hogan and clothesline him over those top ropes! The Million Dollar Man has won the Royal Rumble, and he is going to Wrestlemania! <strong>(81, B)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As DiBiase celebrates his win in the ring, Hogan and Ventura are arguing on the outside. The two men begin brawling and are held back by various WWF staff members and wrestlers as the cameras fade to black to end the Royal Rumble PPV. <strong>(97, A*)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Final Show Rating: 87, B+</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Additional Information:</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

- Savage vs. DiBiase will semi-main event Wrestlemania IV to set up a side feud with Hogan and Savage later, with Savage feeling overshadowed by what Hogan is doing.</p><p>

- Hogan will challenge Ventura to a match at Wrestlemania on the next Monday Night Raw.</p><p>

- Hogan vs. Ventura is the Wrestlemania IV main event.</p><p>

- I planned on Santana vs. Perfect for the TV title but I plan on having Perfect hold the belt another time, Larry Cameron will take the belt off Santana at Wrestlemania IV.</p>

<p>After reading many other peoples great diaries I have decided I am most likely going to be changing my format a bit so they're much more detailed! The main write-ups will still be every PPV but I will also give a small write-up after every 4th week of RAW, just to give a rundown on what has been happening on television and how that will affect future storylines and the upcoming PPV. I will most likely do that in a wrestling magazine style.</p><p> </p><p>

In terms of my PPV write-ups, I plan to do more promo write-ups and also discussions between commentators to try and make it more engaging.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyone who has been reading these so far I am happy for suggestions on how else I could improve to make this diary/dynasty more pleasant for you all to read.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>EDIT:</strong> To also make it more engaging for you all feel free to recommend wrestlers to sign and gimmicks to assign them! I will also be posting each PPV Match Card and allow you all to predict who will win each match-up! Whoever has the most correct predictions by the end of 1988 in my save I will look to give a prize to the winner.</p>

<strong>Rich Landrum:</strong> Hello everyone and welcome to this months edition of 'Running Through RAW, I am your host, Rich Landrum and I will be running through all the important events of each episode of Monday Night RAW from this month, so let's get started as I take you back to the Monday Night RAW a day removed from the spectacular Royal Rumble PPV.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#8B0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WWF MONDAY NIGHT RAW, EPISODE 46; Wk 1, Feb 1988:</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> The post-Royal Rumble RAW proved to be just as eventful as the PPV itself! To get it started we had Hulk Hogan addressing the WWF Commissioner, Jack Tunney, regarding the Royal Rumble. Hogan made it clear that DiBiase did not deserve to win and that it would be him going to Wrestlemania if Ventura didn't get involved. Tunney being the fair man that he is agreed with Hogan and offered him another shot. If he could beat DiBiase in tonights Main Event, he will be going to Wrestlemania instead to face Randy Savage for the World Title.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/MjlIHP7.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Now I won't spoil the result of that amazing main event just yet! Hold your horses, everybody! Virgil was given a rematch against Tito Santana for the Television Title after Virgil lost the belt only shortly after being gifted it by The Million Dollar Man! Virgil didn't fare much better in this bout than his match at the Rumble, but he avoided suffering back to back pinfall losses to Santana after 'Lethal' Larry Cameron got involved during the match, causing for the ref to ring for the bell. Larry Cameron continued attacking Santana, before he eventually got on the microphone, warning Santana that he will be coming for that belt real, real soon... As many of you may know, the Lethal one is yet to be pinned or submitted in a WWF ring. Could Santana be the man to finally get the Lethal one down? I guess only time will tell, folks!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="lRHm9sf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lRHm9sf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> On this episode of Monday Night RAW was, uh, 'treated' to our first edition of Kings Court hosted by Jerry Lawler. After brief rambling from Lawler, he introduces his first guest, Ricky Steamboat. The show mainly consisted of Lawler insulting his guest, even calling him stupid for fooling for the snake's shenanigans. This edition of Kings Court ended with Steamboat slapping the self-proclaimed king in the mouth, making him drop to the floor. Steamboat then surprised many of us! Challenging Roberts one last time at Wrestlemania. With the stipulation that if Roberts loses, he must leave the WWF! Roberts was not present on this edition of Monday Night RAW so will he accept this challenge at a later date? I sure hope so!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="V5tIoOY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/V5tIoOY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Now folks, a lot of amazing stuff happens on RAW every week but if I ran through the whole card I'd be here all day! That's why running through raw only provides you with the important events heading into future possible matches! And with that... Demolition! The powerful team continue to ensure The Road Warriors don't get close to their belts, once again costing them a world tag title shot, interfering in their match against The Hart Foundation! When will The Road Warriors finally get those hands on Demolition and those tag titles? Something is telling me, very soon, folks.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="8ZwgB2Z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8ZwgB2Z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Now our main event. The Hulkster takes on the Million Dollar Man! To my surprise, Hogan was accompanied to ringside by Miss Elizabeth and the current reigning WWF World Heavyweight Champion, The Machoooooo Man! This match was PPV worthy, towards the end of the match Hogan was sure to of won with the signature leg drop, but what a surprise! Ventura gets involved. The ref rang the bell for a DQ victory to Hogan, which technically means he gets the world title shot at Mania now, but instead Hogan shocked us all. I don't think I can explain this so well... So how about I bring up the video, ladies and gentlemen.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="UowMW61.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UowMW61.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

*Start of Footage*</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hogan:</strong> You know brother?! That world title shot can wait. Ventura you're really getting on the Hulksters nerves. If you want a piece of me so bad brother then how about it? Me and you at Mania! </p><p> </p><p>

The crowd pops loud, and a smile is brought to Ventura's face. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ventura:</strong> You'll really give up a world title shot just to go one on one with me? Ohhh damn, Hogan, you're more stupid than I thought. Well, I knew you were stupid so uh, no surprises. But Hogan if you really want a piece of me... You've got it! Make it happen, Tunney!</p><p> </p><p>

*End of Footage*</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum</strong>: Oh boy there we have it, folks... A challenge from Hulkster to Ventura. Can Wrestlemania hurry up and arrive??? Please???</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#8B0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WWF MONDAY NIGHT RAW, EPISODE 47; Wk 2, Feb 1988:</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Episode 47. Now, Folks, you're probably wondering how you can top a RAW like the previous one, right? Well, this is how... The show opens up with DiBiase sitting at a booth in one of the finest restaurants in New York. I think I've been on the waiting list for that place for years! Alongside DiBiase is his colleague, Mr Wallstreet. DiBiase boasts about how he is still heading to Wrestlemania to face Randy Savage for the World Heavyweight Championship and he is already sure he'll be leaving Wrestlemania as the World champion. He ends the promo with sipping his champagne and addressing Tunney, saying how he is lucky that Hogan turned his attention to Ventura. Because if he lost his world title shot the 'truth may have to come out.' Gee, I wonder what he is talking about? DiBiase and Tunney have had a little secret between them for quite a while now, hopefully, the truth comes out soon, because believe me, folks, I'm itching for it.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="EX57Zy1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EX57Zy1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Talking about Tunney, he had a huge announcement of his own! He announced a new championship will make its debut to the WWF. This title is called the WWF Junior Heavyweight Championship! Tunney has confirmed a tournament will be taking place around the world, featuring talent from not only the WWF but also NJPW, Stampede Wrestling in Calgary and an English promotion known as All-Star Wrestling. The tournament final will take place at Wrestlemania IV in March, already adding excitement to the granddaddy of them all!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wacdV0M.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wacdV0M.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> The action in the ring saw The Warrior easily defeat Greg Valentine, in 1 minute and 26 seconds to be precise! This led to King Honky Tonk and Jerry Lawler storming the ring post-match and attacking The Warrior, who didn't seem phased by the attack at all, easily fighting them back. The Warriors partner, Sting, soon made his way to the ring eventually two to help fight The King of Blues off. The King of Blues has had a problem with this Ultimate Duo since Summerslam when they aided The Macho Man. But the question is who will ultimately come out on top in this feud? I think I'm going to safely put all my money on Warrior and Sting folks, how about you? haha.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Wb8Jrx0.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Wb8Jrx0.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Now the next thing I'm about to talk about was rather amusing to me! Larry Cameron came out to the ring and guess who was alongside him? Haiti Kid! Who was amusingly dressed just like Larry Cameron! Cameron introduced Haiti Kid as 'Little Larry' a Lethal Larry superfan. Cameron then said that Santana sucks SO much that even Little Larry could probably beat him. After constant mocking, Santana eventually comes out, Cameron swiftly gets out the ring, leaving Little Larry alone, begging for mercy. So Santana picked the little guy up and threw him out of the ring. Big Larry thankfully caught him though then the both of them quickly ran away, leaving Santana in the ring with the fans applauding the hero!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="CLo0xHN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CLo0xHN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> That pesky Heenan, ohhhh........ As many of you know, Heenan and his always growing family have been battling with Andre The Giant since he let the family down at Wrestlemania III. With a Vader vs. Giant match-up scheduled for Mania, the family want to make sure they can weaken the Giant before then. Heenan introduced his newest member to the family, Magnificent Muraco. Heenan then challenged Andre on Muraco's behalf at the Wrestling Showcase at the end of the month. Andre appeared on-screen and quickly accepted the challenge. Not one to be afraid of Heenan or his family.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wX4Dyd3.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wX4Dyd3.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum:</strong> Again, if I spoke about this whole show I would be here all day! How I wish I could talk about all the amazing matches I have seen on RAW, oh boy! The end of this episode of RAW, however, ended with Steamboat addressing Roberts once again. Asking him if he has yet got an answer for his Wrestlemania proposal. He calls out Roberts whos music then hits. As Steamboat waits leaning on the ropes, a man who is considerably smaller than Roberts attacks Steamboat from behind, leaving him out. As the dragon laid on the floor, Roberts appeared, accepting the Wrestlemania challenge! More Mania hype, everybody! But just like the rest of you, I'm sitting here... wondering... Who attacked Steamboat?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#8B0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WWF MONDAY NIGHT RAW, EPISODE 48; Wk 3, Feb 1988:</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Landrum: </strong>For the last two episodes this month I will send it down to a true voice here in the World Wrestling Federation. Howard Finkel, everybody.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="gGd7qdf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gGd7qdf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finkel:</strong> Thank you, Landrum, you have done an amazing job. Just as it's been addressed a lot happens here on WWF television and I wish I could sit here and talk about it all with Landrum but unfortunately for us, we just don't have the time. But Episode 48, what happened? What did you may miss? Well, I'm here to tell you. The show opened up with a fantastic match between Kevin Von Erich taking on Jake Roberts! Back and forth action but after two DDT's in a row which kept Von Erich down and out, Roberts left the ring and got himself intentionally counted out! Something he has been doing for quite awhile now. When Mean Gene caught up with him and asked him why, Roberts simply said he doesn't care about winning, he just wants his opponents to know he can end it anytime he wanted. Well Roberts, you better care about winning soon! Because if you lose at Mania, you're out of here!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="JD2omjn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/JD2omjn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finkel:</strong> Hogan made an appearance alongside Macho man and addressed DiBiase, saying he has unfinished business with DiBiase still, challenging him at the Wrestling Showcase. Mr Wallstreet appears and accepts on the behalf of DiBiase. Macho Man also challenged Ventura for a match at the Wrestling Showcase but Ventura said he'll only accept if Savage puts his world title on the line. Something he was happy to do. So who knows? Hogan could see himself getting his world title shot after all if Ventura leaves the Wrestling Showcase with that world title around his waist !I'm looking forward to it ladies and gentleman, and I'm sure all of you are too.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="J71UWxW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/J71UWxW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finkel:</strong> The British Bulldog was in action against Scott Hansen, a rematch from there match at Madison Square Garden back in December. This time Bulldog managed to defeat him cleanly in the middle of the ring! Stan Hansen then said he couldn't wait until Wrestlemania to get his hands on Bulldog so instead, he'll meet him at The Wrestling Showcase instead. In a Texas Falls Count Anywhere match. The action just keeps on coming here in the World Wrestling Federation.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="UCKlwGD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UCKlwGD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finkel</strong>: King Honky Tonk took on Sting in a match to determine who will face Ricky Steamboat at The Wrestling Showcase. The match seemed to be in Sting's favour allll the way till the end when Greg Valentine smacked Sting with the guitar and allowed Honky Tonk to take full advantage and pin him. The King of Blues all attack Sting post-match but thankfully, The Warrior returns the favour and makes the save!
