EVE.jpg?fit=394%2C250&ssl=1

Forget everything you thought you knew about this previously male-owned world and see what happens when a bipolar, home schooling mum of two combines her passions of feminism, punk, politics, mental health and pro-wrestling to create EVE, a night of death-defying, jaw dropping, action packed, wrestling stunts fueled with cabaret, comedy and so much more!

EVE is the ground-breaking feminist-punk-rock wrestling promotion, founded and operated by Emily and Dann Read who since 2006 have continually played a major part in the popularity and increased exposure of the female professional wrestling scene.

Author’s note: So I’ve told myself I wouldn’t start another diary before the launch of TEW2020 and this here is proof of me failing to do so. Ever since the wonderful yet short-lived “Mothers of the Revolution” diary introduced me to Pro Wrestling:EVE, I’ve fallen in love with its grassroots, punk rock, DIY attitude and how it’s not afraid to take a stand when it comes to things like racism, sexism and homophobia. Also, I’ve only recently subscribed to their online on-demand service and catching up with the content available there.

In other news, the TEW16 dynasty forums have recently seen a string of wonderful CVerse puroresu diaries like southside_hitmen’s BCG Dead Lions Do Not Roar and CGN91’s White Canvas Grappling, filled with great content, writing and presentation. This in turn has taken some wind off the sails of my BCG Defenders of Puroresu diary and freed up a slot so I could get this one started. So why a Real World mod and why Pro Wrestling:EVE? A bunch of reasons, really. I’ve never done a proper all-female promotion save/diary before. I’ve had some issues tackling real world mods that I’m looking to overcome. Hopefully this will make more people look up Pro Wrestling:EVE same way Mothers of the Revolution made me do. Plus, on the flipside of the aforementioned CVerse puroresu diaries on the rise, I also noticed somewhat of a decline as far as all female stuff goes after Historian canned his AAW diary and with EBEZA slowing down with Bringing Some "Sparkell" to AAA!

Given the size and complexity of the Real World mod compared to the default CVerse, I will try to pace myself and also provide some updates about how the game world beyond EVE develops. I'll also be posting show cards in advance to hype up shows and for those who are into the predictions game, with the winner after each show getting to pick something for me to write about, whether it's a narrative or information on a specific worker, promotion, region etc.

Shout out to Flesch and Southside_Hitmen for making and updating the Real World mod, Derek_B, Dr_Avalanche, joemurphy and Hollywood for helping them and everyone else in the community for your continued support and inspiration. Hope you enjoy this one.

Like most EVE shows, this one kicks off with co-owner and ring announcer Emily Read welcoming fans and pointing out how this is a safe space: you can boo wrestlers all you like, but no racism, homophobia, transphobia, slut shaming or any other kind of spiteful behavior shall be tolerated. Matches, as always, are contested under "Spirit of EVE" rules, which essentially means no countouts and a loose disqualification policy that more often than not boils down to DQs only ocurring due to outside interference.</p><p>

Baynz vs Connie Steele vs Sammi Jayne</strong></p><p>

Connie Steele comes out first and the announcement points out both her heritage and trainer, establishing her as Erin Angel's understudy to a great reaction from the fans. Sammi Jayne is out next to a much more lukewarm reaction, the fans not yet fully buying her recent babyface turn. Baynz enters last and unlike her usual "strong, silent monster heel" style, she takes the time to argue with fans on the way and trash talk everyone. The match itself is good enough to get the crowd going and does a good job of showcasing newcomer Steele, who is actually the best in-ring worker of the three involved, while Baynz botches a couple of moves to "you f**ked up" chants from the fans and ends up eating the pin after Jayne catches her with her Bitch Please finisher.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Sammi Jayne</strong></p><p>

<img alt="bnY1FzQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bnY1FzQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://www.wrestling.fi/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Jessica.jpg</span></p><p>

Next up is a video montage introducing Finland's Jessica Love, who is set to make her EVE debut next. Love talks about her experience as a transgender in the pro wrestling industry and what it means for her to be performing at an EVE show, her statements intertwined with those of Emily Read and some members of the roster about Love.</p><p>

<img alt="7nXiDsK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7nXiDsK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jayla Dark vs Jessica Love</strong></p><p>

Hot off the heels of the video, Jessica Love makes her entrance and wins over the crowd with her unique charisma, before cheers turn to boos for the entrance of Jayla Dark. Once the bell rings though, Love's offense doesn't seem to be working much, part due to Dark's resilience and part due to her own slopiness. It's almost all Dark from bell to bell, looking strong as she beats down the babyface while making sure the fans cheer and boo who they're supposed to, until the swerve finish of Love getting a surprise underdog win when she catches the confident Dark in a small package for the pin!</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Jessica Love</strong></p><p>

Kasey vs Emi Sakura</strong></p><p>

Northern Ireland's "Clown Princess of Carnage" comes out first to a decent reaction, though fans seem to be more into her wrestling than her character, perhaps deeming it a rushed change after the injury of her sister Leah Owens put their twin tag team on hiatus. When Emi Sakura comes out though, fans really pop for the cheerful, beloved veteran. At 42 years old with 23 years of experience across the globe, Sakura is a true joshi legend and her ability to work a crowd really carries a somewhat off Kasey through the match to a servicable semi main event that ends much like their previous two contests did, with Sakura scoring the pin after a well fought bout.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Emi Sakura</strong></p><p>

<img alt="M4SOg7D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M4SOg7D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="220px-Wesna_Busic.jpg" data-src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/12/Wesna_Busic.jpg/220px-Wesna_Busic.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

It's a proper clash of veterans for the main event, with almost 20 years of pro wrestling experience for each competitor. Not quite familiar with each other, the ladies take it a bit slow and at times it feels like the flow is a bit off, especially whenever Angel tries to get some momentum going and stops halfway there thanks to a combination of her own sloppiness and Wesna's power. Slowly but surely, Wesna dismantles her much smaller opponent though it takes a heavy toll on her stamina as the match goes past the fifteen minute mark. With every offensive sequence and near fall that follows, it feels like a time limit draw is at hand but with less than two minutes left in the match, Wesna finally manages to hit her opponent with a CB4-Driver and fall on top for the pin.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Wesna</strong></p><p><strong>
