A Booker's Journey

Recommended Posts

After fielding various offers and several rejections I finally got a job as a head booker at Fight Club Pro. Trent Seven with his busy work schedule needed a booker to put together his upcoming show and I’ve been hired for the job. My first task is putting together a card for the Dream Tag Team Invitational Tournament. I’ve also expanded the roster by 16 workers and they included The Models who will be in the tournament. Also I was going to put Moustache Mountain in the Tag Team tournament but my boss, Trent Seven, suffered a Simple Cranial Fracture. Also, Kid Lykos has suffered a Dislocated Shoulder meaning that #CCK won’t be in the tournament as well. With the Dream aspect in effect I’ve had to throw some team together and this is the list I’ve came up with.

Pete Dunne and WALTER

Tyler Bate and Travis Banks

Lion Kid and El Phantasmo

Jordan Devlin and Chris Brookes

Martin Kirby and Sam Wilder

Callous Hearts (Jimmy Havoc and Clint Margera)

The Hunter Brothers (Lee and Jim)

The Models (Joey Hayes and Danny Hope)

The Aussie Open was slated to be in the tournament but our FCP Champion, Mark Davis, will be defending against Angelico. Lucas Archer will be making his debut against Omari. Millie McKenzie will face Kay Lee Ray as well as Meiko Satomura facing Viper. I’m hoping this is a great card and will be one of the biggest shows we run holding an entire 8 man tournament in one night.

Ok I have to ask. What are you using to do your tournament brackets? That looks real slick.

The website is called Challonge. Several options for it too. I just used a snip it tool to get a pic of the bracket. You can also set it up where I could have left a link and people could make predictions.

Comments on Dream Tag Team Invitational:

 • Viper was slated to face Meiko Satomura but was unavailable to make the show due to getting more money to wrestle at another event this weekend. I decided to replace Viper with Jayla Dark and she performed well.

 • Several of my dream pairings didn’t work out well like Pete Dunne and WALTER, Martin Kirby and Sam Wilder, and Jordan Devlin and Chris Brookes but the tournament still came off a success. I decided to leave off The Besties in the World due to them having the FCP Tag Team Championships. They will be defending them on the next event with a team that was very impressive in the tournament.

 • Mark Davis is a pretty good champion, but I think we have more talented performers. I think Aussie Open could become more valuable in tag team division. I’m not keen on putting the title on anybody associated with NXT UK due to WWE’s strict rules not allowing them to be on our events on Streaming sites. We have an offer from Twitch in Europe but I’m not taking it and leaving off the NXT UK members from events.

FCP DTTI Hangover is currently in the process of being booked when I got a call that Jimmy Havoc will be working for AEW that night of the event. The Callous Hearts will no longer be able to challenge The Besties in the World for the FCP Tag Team Championships. Kid Lykos will be able compete so #CCK will be getting the title shot along with his partner, Chris Brookes. We will also be crowning a FCP Women’s Championship with Bea Priestly, Kay Lee Ray, Meiko Satomura, and Viper in a Fatal 4 Way match. Mark Davis is slated to defend against Tyler Bate. Our big headlining match will be Pete Dunne and WALTER after the conclusion of the Dream Tag Team Invitational Tournament event. Thinking that could be a match of the year candidate for the company. Also, Trent Seven become friends with BT Gunn and wanted to see if I can get him a few bookings. I have decided to bring in his tag team partner, Chris Renfrew as well to boost the tag team division. I do plan on using them but it was too late to get them included in May’s show.

FCP DTTI Hangover

FCP Champion – Mark Davis © vs. Tyler Bate

FCP Women’s – Kay Lee Ray vs. Bea Priestly vs. Meiko Satomura vs. Viper

FCP Tag Team – The Besties in the World © vs. #CCK

Pete Dunne vs. WALTER

Omari vs. Lion Kid

Models vs. The Hunter Brothers

Travis Banks vs. Martin Kirby

The Besties in the World didn’t impress me and felt like we needed new Tag Team Champions to get the division moving in the right directions. #CCK wasn’t my first option but they work well as a team and can pull of excellent matches.

Meiko Satomura is head and shoulders better than everybody in the women’s division at this time.
We had no event booked for June so I decided to pitch an idea and now we will be having FCP Scars of War at the end of the month. I pulled out a healthy profit of over 5K last month and I had to do some politicking to get approval. We would make more money not running, but I felt like we need to keep running a monthly show for our fans. The main event will be Pete Dunne facing WALTER in an I Quit match to prove who is the toughest between the two men. We will also be having Tyler Bates and a mystery partner facing The Aussie Open. During the month I’ve also signed Bonesaw and will be trying him out in a tag team with El Phantasmo as The Mercenaries. They won’t be on this month’s card but they are another team to help build up the division for when we start running more shows. As we continue building to Scars of War we have found some worthy challengers to the Women’s and Tag Team Championships. Meiko Satomura will defending against Martina and #CCK will defend against Callous Hearts. I’m also booking a triple threat match between Travis Banks, Jordan Devilin, and Angelico which should be a great match. Then I will be trying out Xia Brookside and Pollyanna when they face each other to fill out the card. Also this month, The Great Kojika passed away leaving an opening for Big Japan Pro Wrestling. I was given an offer to come help out and be apart of the new creative for the company. I turned the more money because I felt like I had more to offer at FCP and prefer their style more.

FCP Scars of War

I Quit Match – Pete Dunne vs. WALTER

Tyler Bate and ??? vs. The Aussie Open

FCP Women’s – Meiko Satomura © vs. Martina

FCP Tag Team - #CCK © vs. Callous Hearts

Xia Brookside vs. Pollyanna

Angelico vs. Jordan Devlin vs. Travis Banks

Martina was bumped out of the FCP Women’s Championship match due to her refusing to lose to Meiko Satomura.
Well Scars of War didn’t go as I planned but we had a great show regardless of the amount of stress we had hours before the show. Good news is that we sold out St. David’s Hall and made over 5K in profit which is a success in my books. FCP is running the International Tekkers at the end of the month and it’s time to start putting together the card. Trent Seven told me who he wanted to challenge Mark Davis for the FCP Championship so it should be a great match on paper as he faces Pete Dunne. Meiko Satomura will be defending against Viper in a match that was cancelled months ago but will finally happen. #CCK will be defending the Tag Titles against the Models. Moustache Mountain will be facing The New Age Kliq. Travis Banks will get the chance for revenge when he faces WALTER. Bea Priestley is back and will be taking on Millie McKenzie. It’s looking like it will be a good card and should help us keep the momentum we have built. Also, this is the first month we have had some pay raise request from Aussie Open, Martina, Millie McKenzie, Angelico, and Kid Lykos they all got 75% raises as they are commanding more dates around the area and we want to be able to pay them competitive prices for our events.

FCP International Tekkers

FCP Championship – Mark Davis © vs. Pete Dunne

FCP Tag Team Championship - #CCK © vs. Models

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Viper

WALTER vs. Travis Banks

Moustache Mountain vs. The New Age Kliq

Bea Priestley vs. Millie McKenzie

Another event in the books and it looks like we avoided a backstage fight during the last show between WALTER and Travis Banks. I’m not going to punish WALTER for standing up to Banks about the booking. I booked it Banks knew he could go behind my back and get it changed. WALTER did me a favor by not letting that happen. On the bright side the event was really good and Dunne is praised for his performance although I wasn’t a 100 percent into the idea of him winning the title. For the month of July we did profit another 5K. August is another month without an event but I pitched a Cash in the Case event where we can have 2 ladder match for contracts for the FCP Championship and FCP Women’s Championship. Along with those 2 huge ladder matches we would have all 3 titles on the line. He agreed after I mentioned that I wanted Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate vs. Trent Seven in the main event for the FCP Championship. Meiko Satomura would be defending against Sierra Loxton. #CCK will defend the Tag Titles against Aussie Open. In the men’s ladder match we would have Angelico vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Jordan Devlin vs. Martin Kirby vs. WALTER vs. Travis Banks. Then in the women’s ladder match we would have Kay Lee Ray vs. Bea Priestley vs. Millie McKenzie vs. Nina Samuels vs. Xia Brookside vs. Viper. Trent Seven said looking at the numbers for this event we would probably lose money but it looks too good to pass up. Seven has high hopes for this event and I need to deliver when I run the show.

FCP Cash in the Case

FCP Championship – Pete Dunne © vs. Tyler Bate vs. Trent Seven

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Sierra Loxton

FCP Tag Team Championship - #CCK © vs. Aussie Open

Men’s Cash in the Case – Angelico vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Jordan Devlin vs. Martin Kirby vs. WALTER vs. Travis Banks

Women’s Cash in the Case – Bea Priestley vs. Kay Lee Ray vs. Millie McKenzie vs. Nina Samuels vs. Xia Brookside vs. Viper

FCP Cash in the Case – Saturday Week 4 August 2019 – EN Hermitage Leisure Centre (400 in attendance)

Kay Lee Ray defeated Bea Priestley, Millie McKenzie, Nina Samuels, Viper, and Xia Brookside by retrieving the briefcase in 14:16. After the match, Kay Lee Ray celebrates on top of the ladder with the briefcase.

After the match Aussie Open and Charli Evans celebrate with the FCP Tag Team Championships.

Travis Banks defeated Angelico, Jordan Devlin, Martin Kirby, and WALTER by retrieving the briefcase in 18:06. After the match, Travis Banks celebrates on top of the ladder with the briefcase.

Meiko Satomura defeated Sierra Loxton by pinfall with the Death Valley Bomb to retain the FCP Women’s Championship in 13:19.

Comments on FCP Cash in the Case:

 • Jimmy Havoc pulled out of the event a few days before but Trent Seven didn’t let me know until the day of the show due to him working an AEW event. I was upset and with just a few hours to show we just dropped him from the match and made it a 5 man ladder match.

 • Kay Lee Ray ended up getting the nod to win the Women’s Ladder match. I was originally going with Bea Priestly but she is going to tour with Stardom again and no word on how long she will be gone but she wasn’t going to be able to make the next show.

 • Mark Davis has showed me a lot over the past few months carrying the FCP Championship and I’ve decided to give him shot along with his partner, Kyle Fletcher to carry the tag team division. #CCK were great champions and they will be getting a rematch at some point. Charli Evans, which is Kyle Fletcher’s girlfriend and also Australian, makes the perfect manager for them.

 • Travis Banks won the briefcase and thankfully I booked it where they can use the contract to give them a title shot at the FCP Champion at the event of his choosing. Banks suffered a hip injury and it looks pretty serious.

 • Meiko Satomura is carrying the Women’s division and that was my plan from the beginning since she is the highest paid performer on the roster. I think Kay Lee Ray going against her for the title in the future will produce a great match.

 • The main event of the night between Dunne, Bate, and Seven was great. It was filled with a ton of spots. I wanted this main event because they are familiar with each other and will do their best to get everybody over. Dunne retains in the best match I’ve booked to date.

Trent Seven was upset after looking over the talent bill before the show but after the reaction during and after the show on social media he was taking the loss a little easier. I put the company down for a 5K loss on the month but it was worth it. The new match concept for this crowd went over well. The main event was a dream match for the FCP Championship. It was just well done and even the women tore the house down in their ladder match. After this big event I need to start preparing for FCP Project Mayhem. I’ve decided to bring in some new faces to the company like The Bucky Boys, Jim E. Villain, Kip Sabian, Mark Andrews, John Skyler, and Ringo Ryan. I decided to try to capture another high profile match by brining in Mark Andrews and he will challenge Pete Dunne for the FCP Championship in a Last Man Standing match. WALTER and Jimmy Havoc will be in a high profile match as they will be competing in a Dog Collar Match. Aussie Open defends the FCP Tag Titles in a Steel Cage against #CCK. Meiko Satomura will be defending against Nina Samuels. In other action we have Kay Lee Ray vs. Pollyanna, the debuting Bucky Boys vs. The Models, and Kip Sabian making his debut against Omari. It looks to be another expensive card but hoping to break even this month by giving Bate and Seven the night off and Banks on the sidelines. Well one match has already fallen apart and the scheduled Dog Collar match needs a replacement as Jimmy Havoc backs out again due to taking a date for AEW. I have signed Rocky Mac to take the spot in the dog collar match and will keep him around as thanks for taking a dangerous match like this on less than a week’s notice.

FCP Project Mayhem

FCP Championship Last Man Standing – Pete Dunne © vs. Mark Andrews

FCP Tag Team Championship Steel Cage – Aussie Open © vs. #CCK

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Nina Samuels

Dog Collar Match – WALTER vs. Rocky Mac

Pollyanna vs. Kay Lee Ray

Kip Sabian vs. Omari

The Models vs. The Bucky Boys

Another great show is in the books but we lost money. This month we lost around $3,600 which was better than last month. Trent Seven, my boss, is still happy about the show quality as of late and small losses aren’t an issue yet. Seven wants me to keep the show quality but cut the budget so we make a profit. Seven wants FCP profitable again by the start of 2020. I think I can do it but I’m going to have to rely on some of the younger guys to step up over the next month so I can pull some of our top names giving them a break. So with this on my mind it was time to start planning FCP Day of the Dead. First I checked in with Travis Banks, who is currently healing from a minor hip injury. Banks told me he is still in a lot of pain and will not be competing in the next few weeks. I told him to rest up and when he is 100% to let me know. In the main event, I’ve decided to go with Pete Dunne defending the FCP Championship against Kid Lykos. I’m hoping for a great match between them. We also have the advertised Meiko Satomura vs. Kay Lee Ray match that was announced at the last show for the FCP Women’s Championship. Aussie Open will be defending the FCP Tag Team Championships against The Bucky Boys. WALTER and Jimmy Havoc is booked again and hopefully we get to run this match which will be a UK Death Match. Millie McKenzie will also be booked to face Viper, Moustache Mountain will be facing the team of Martin Kirby and Jordan Devlin, and we have a Triple Threat match with Kip Sabian, Angelico, and Lion Kid. I’m hopeful that some of these guys will step up to the opportunity and earn bigger spots going forward.

FCP Day of the Dead

FCP Championship – Pete Dunne © vs. Kid Lykos

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Kay Lee Ray

FCP Tag Team Championship – Aussie Open © vs. The Bucky Boys

UK Death Match – Jimmy Havoc vs. WALTER

Viper vs. Millie McKenzie

Moustache Mountain vs. Martin Kirby and Jordan Devlin

Angelico vs. Lion Kid vs. Kip Sabian

Comments on FCP Day of the Dead:

 • The opening match was pretty good with Angelico and Kip Sabian really shined in it. Both have a bright future in FCP. Lion Kid also did a good job but needs to keep improving.

 • Moustache Mountain needed an opponent after Jordan Devlin was injured suffering a partially torn pectoral muscle. Instead of throwing a random person with Martin Kirby I pulled him from the card and inserted a newly signed team of Steinbolt and Harley Rage, known as Sveriges Elit. They performed well with Moustache Mountain.

 • Jimmy Havoc had a great promo before the match with WALTER in the first ever UK Death Match using the rules from the old Texas Death Matches done years ago. Both men performed great in their element and Havoc took a great bump at the end to give WALTER the victory.

 • Millie McKenzie is a future star of our women’s division. She is young and keeps on improving every time she enters the ring. Viper did a great job putting her over.

 • Aussie Open and The Bucky Boys are two talented teams and had a great match. I look forward to them clashing again over the title down in the future.

 • Meiko Satomura is still topping herself month to the month and this time with Kay Lee Ray she set the bar pretty high. Satomura and Ray are two of the top women wrestlers on the roster and they wrestled like they were.

 • Pete Dunne and Kid Lykos had an excellent match as I went with Kid Lykos for the Halloween themed event. Lykos is a great performer and has a bright future as a singles wrestler down the road and as a team with Brookes. Banks showing up was a last minute change as he was cleared for in-ring activity a few days before the event and set up a big match for FCP Infinity.

FCP Day of the Dead was a pretty good show and everything was going well until we gave out the pay days. I might have overbooked an extra match and had the worst month for profit since I became booker. We lost over 7K which in most companies that would be okay but in FCP that’s a big portion of the bank account. I had talked with Seven about an event for November but I didn’t come through on my end. I promised a profitable month and failed on that end. I had a feeling that was going to happen which is why I had Banks challenge him for Infinity regardless. The month off will be good for all of us as I’m trying to persuade Trent Seven for more control over the roster after an incident with NXT UK. A big portion of our top guys are in NXT UK and they haven’t been happy about them working for us due to injury concerns for such a small show. Seven has been adamant about booking them still and been against me having guys who won’t be pulled if relations with NXT UK end completely. Due to the frustrations I did apply for an opening in a new company that opened up in Mexico called Attack Wrestling Federation owned by Bombero Infernal but they hired Ares el Guerrero. I’m okay with not getting the job as I feel like I can make a difference in FCP if I could get some new stars in the main events. During our off month we made over 6K off merch and sponsors and are ready to start booking FCP Infinity. This year the 8 men in the Infinity Tournament will be Trent Seven, Angelico, Kip Sabian, Robbie Dynamite, Martin Kirby, Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, and Omari. Pete Dunne will also be defending the FCP Championship against Travis Banks, Meiko Satomura will defend the FCP Women’s Championship against Courtney Stewart, and Aussie Open will defend the FCP Tag Team Championships against The Hunter Brothers. I’ve also added Katey Harvey going against Candy Floss, who is making her FCP debut. I’m hoping for a great show and thinking we could have a great month financially.

FCP Infinity

FCP Championship – Pete Dunne © vs. Travis Banks

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Courtney Stewart

FCP Tag Team Championship – Aussie Open © vs. The Hunter Brothers

Katey Harvey vs. Candy Floss

Infinity Tournament Round 1 – Trent Seven vs. Angelico

Infinity Tournament Round 1 – Kip Sabian vs. Robbie Dynamite

Infinity Tournament Round 1 – Martin Kirby vs. Mark Andrews

Infinity Tournament Round 1 – Tyler Bate vs. Omari

Infinity Finals Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match – ??? vs. ??? vs. ??? vs. ???

Comments on FCP Infinity:

 • The Infinity Trophy qualifiers and finals were all great matches. I think Kip Sabian is really improving and could be the future of the company.

 • Katey Harvey and Candy Floss had an okay match and Courtney Stewart had a good showing against Meiko but she still stands atop of our Women’s Division.

 • Aussie Open has been doing a great job holding down the tag team division as I’ve been high on keeping them around gold since Mark Davis dropped the FCP Championship.

 • Pete Dunne and Travis Banks had a great main event and I’m glad I ran with that over the Infinity Trophy Finals to close the show.

FCP Infinity was the first show where I was allowed to make the final decision on the finishes due to some conflict between us and NXT UK. Trent Seven wanted Tyler Bate to win the Infinity Trophy but I said we need to use this to build a new star because we could lose all the top stars if NXT UK stops them from making appearances. Bate and Andrews were both upset over having to lose but I was at the point where I didn’t care anymore. I need the titles on guys I can trust going forward and that includes Meiko Satomura and Aussie Open. I’m not sold on Pete Dunne although Trent Seven says no way he can lose the title at this moment. To make manners worse we lost over 6K for the show and it’s my fault for booking all of Seven’s friends to make sure they get a pay day. On the bright side, Meiko Satomura won the Women’s Wrestler of the Year award. Infinity also got rave reviews but it’s time to start booking FCP All The Best. It’s time to show the fans who the best in FCP. In the main event we have Pete Dunne defending the FCP Championship against Kip Sabian, the Infinity Trophy winner. Meiko Satomura will be defending the FCP Women’s Championship against Martina. Aussie Open will be defending the FCP Tag Team Championships against Moustache Mountain. Mark Andrews will be facing Martin Kirby in a rematch from Infinity. The Bucky Boys will be facing The Besties in the World and Connie Steele makes her debut against Kay Lee Ray. I also received news about a horrifying injury to one of our brightest young stars, Millie McKenzie. In a tag team match at PROGRESS she had an injury where she had to be stretchered out of the arena. It turns out she had a compression in her lower Thoracic Spinal Cord and could be out of action for over a year if she is ever cleared to compete again. Millie McKenzie was one of the stars of the future but her career could be over. Also a few days before the show I got news that one of the members of our roster has passed away. Jim Hunter has passed away at the age of 36 after taking his own life. We have planned a special segment for him at FCP All The Best.

FCP All The Best

FCP Championship – Pete Dunne © vs. Kip Sabian

FCP Women’s Championship – Meiko Satomura © vs. Martina

FCP Tag Team Championship – Aussie Open © vs. Moustache Mountain

Martin Kirby vs. Mark Andrews

Connie Steele vs. Kay Lee Ray

The Besties in the World vs. The Bucky Boys
