Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show while standing ringside in a sold out arena. Solie goes on to detail some of the action we’ll see today including Rick Martel and The Andersons in action. We then go to the ring announcer for our opening contest.

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>RICK MARTEL VS BARRY O</b>

Martel dominates the match with his skill and athleticism. He worked on his opponent’s back before locking on the Boston Crab.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: RICK MARTEL

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

Dick Slater joins Gordon Solie at ringside. He says that he always knew Roddy Piper had a big mouth but he didn’t know that he was stupid enough to kick the hornet’s nest. Well buddy that’s how you get stung! Right there in that ring, he wants Piper next week and he’ll show him what it’s all about!

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>MANDO AND HECTOR GUERRERO VS PAT ROSE AND TOM PRICHARD</b>

You can tell how excited Mando Guerrero is to be back healthy in the ring after a long nagging injury. He and his brother show off their chemistry having worked together for so long and in the end it’s Mando who hits the Gorybomb on Prichard for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: MANDO AND HECTOR GUERRERO

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>TOMMY RICH VS MARTY JANNETTY</b>

A very good match which is competitive throughout. Jannetty gets a few opportunities to showcase his skills and gets a near three count but Rich settles down and takes the match over, ending it with the Thesz Press.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TOMMY RICH

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

Ho8F3ep.jpgoQBMyVu.jpg

Rich gets his hand raised in victory but before he can leave the ring Percy Pringle III waddles up the ring steps and approaches Rich. He offers his hand, telling Rich the opportunity to manage a former NWA Champion would be a feather in his cap and how he can get Rich back to the promised land. Rich refuses to shake hands and as he goes to walk past Pringle, the blonde loudmouth grabs onto his arm, pleading. Rich turns to pull his arm away which is all the distraction needed as Pringle’s man slips into the ring and blasts Rich from behind.

Callous stomps Rich a few times before picking him up by the throat before chokeslamming him. Callous drops a few elbows and picks Rich back up, setting him up for a heart punch when a flood of wrestlers from the back hit the ring and force Pringle and Callous away. Tommy Rich has been saved, but the big man’s gaze looks like he’s not done yet.

<b>THE ANDERSONS W/BOBBY HEENAN VS MIKE RAPADA AND STEVE SIMPSON</b>

The Andersons take great pleasure in torturing these two young opponents. After several long minutes, they put the finishing touches with a knee off the top from Ole.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: THE ANDERSONS

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

cpzSkap.jpgoqtPmP2.jpgCbtcvTE.jpg2APow2o.jpg

Jim Cornette welcomes the Andersons and Bobby Heenan. Heenan says what you just watched was the textbook example of tag team wrestling, torture, and enjoying your job all rolled into one. Ole agrees saying it doesn’t matter who it is, the Andersons are all about hurting people and they’re happy to do it. Arn adds that they have their eyes on both the Road Warriors and Rock n Roll Express so don’t be surprised boys!

<b>MEAN MARK CALLOUS W/PERCY PRINGLE III VS TIM HORNER</b>

Callous begins the match by booting Horner in the face and it goes downhill from there for Tim. Callous overpowers with a mean streak (no pun intended) before dropping Horner with a heart punch. Horner convulses as Callous makes a very loose and arrogant cover.

WINNER BY PINFALL: MEAN MARK CALLOUS

oQBMyVu.jpgaO8vDzz.jpg

Percy Pringle III waddles his way into the ring. He says that he offered his hand in friendship and enterprise to Tommy Rich to revitalize a career which has seen better days and what happened? He was disrespected. Well, when you disrespect him, you disrespect Mean Mark Callous and that is something which comes with serious repercussions! Tommy Rich you’re in line for some serious..heartbreak and when you step in the ring with his man it will be your end!

<b>GINO HERNANDEZ © VS PAT TANAKA</b>

A great match between these two as they trade the momentum several times before Hernandez begins to build momentum and eventually retains his title thanks to nailing the Deposit.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA CENTRAL CHAMPION: GINO HERNANDEZ

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

i4vEqGT.jpg5x4LSgj.jpgvtkGr71.jpg

<b>JAKE ROBERTS VS BRETT SAWYER</b>

Roberts is fully focused and spends the match finding new ways to torture and demean his opponent. After hitting a short arm clothesline Roberts allows himself a moment to smile but it quickly fades to a look of disdain as he picks up Sawyer and hits a quick DDT for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: JAKE ROBERTS

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

i4vEqGT.jpg

After the match Roberts rolls to the outside and reaches under the ring, pulling out a large canvas bag. He hefts it onto the apron and shoves it further in the ring. To Solie and especially Cornette’s horror the bag is writhing. They both speculate what’s in the bag. Roberts begins to slither under the rope but stops as if reconsidering before he slides out again and throws the bag over his shoulder before walking out.

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>DICK SLATER VS BOB ORTON W/RODDY PIPER</b>

The bell rings and the two lock up in the middle of the ring. Orton backs up but seems to just be holding Slater and we soon see why. Piper climbs into the ring and charges Slater with a running knee in the back. The referee quickly calls for the bell.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: DICK SLATER

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

u6SSbmG.jpgJkmEJpT.jpg9nGStVf.jpg

As the bell continues to ring Piper and Orton are all over Slater. Slater is trying to fight back but Piper shuts that down with a low blow. Slater is dismantled for several minutes before Orton retrieves two chairs from ringside. To Solie’s horror and Cornette’s enthusiasm they place one chair under Slater’s head and Piper with a wide smile slams the second chair down on Slater’s head multiple times as officials finally hit the ring. Piper and Orton ditch to the outside and Piper can be heard saying ‘game over’ to the announcers as Solie tells us to come back next week as he continues to express concern about what we’ve seen.

<b>TED DIBIASE VS KRUSHER KHRUSCHEV</b>

A solid match between these two. Khruschev tries to use his power but Dibiase counters with the speed advantage and more tactical thinking. Luring Krusher into the corner, Dibiase dodges a charge then hits a double hook suplex, putting the Russian on his back. Dibiase follows with a diving fist from the second rope for the win.

Tony Schiavone welcomes in the NWA United States Champion Macho Man Randy Savage and his Woman. Steamboat and Keirn have a very good match but in the end it’s the champion’s resilience that pulls through and allows him to defend his title with a flying cross body block for the three count.

<b>THE ANDERSONS W/BOBBY HEENAN VS BOB ARMSTRONG AND BRAD ARMSTRONG</b>

Bob and Brad Armstrong give the Andersons a good fight but there is something to be said for a mean streak and the Andersons certainly have that. Arn and Ole wear down their opponents and end the match with a spinning spinebuster from Arn to Brad

<b>TERRY FUNK VS TRACY SMOTHERS</b>

Funk uses a combination of technical savvy and brutality to beat Smothers into submission. Funk takes great offense when the audience begins chanting for Dusty Rhodes and takes it out on Smothers by hitting two stump piledrivers for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TERRY FUNK

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

Ric Flair, dressed to the nines, joins Tony Schiavone. Flair says that in a few weeks at Bayou Battle it will be the last time we see that rube Dusty Rhodes wearing what belongs to the Nature Boy. Rhodes has done more damage to that belt’s legacy that it makes Flair sick but don’t worry about it because Wooooo, money talks, and soon it’ll be where it belongs.

<b>THE FANTASTICS VS THE SHEEPHERDERS</b>

A definite clash of styles in this match where the Fantastics are quick and fluid and the Sheepherders are slow and brutal. The match goes back and forth but as the Fantastics begin building momentum the Sheepherders decide they’ve had enough of playing by the rules. Luke Williams, who is not the legal man, gathers a chair at ringside and slips into the ring, hitting Bobby Fulton with it causing the disqualification.

WINNERS BY DISQUALIFICATION: THE FANTASTICS

<b>BUDDY ROBERTS © VS KERRY VON ERICH</b>

A great back and forth match which sees Von Erich have an answer for Roberts and nearly gets a pinfall several times. Von Erich whips Roberts into the ropes and catches him in the iron claw. Roberts is on his feet, flailing his arms when……

yxvDBlD.jpg

Michael Hayes runs down to the ring and climbs on the apron drawing the attention of the referee. Von Erich keeps the claw on and by now Roberts has dropped to his knees and looks nearly unconscious. The crowd comes to life when….

Ifzx9I7.jpg

Terry Gordy slides into the ring behind the referee and he’s got the Florida championship belt. He runs at Von Erich and slams the title belt into the back of his head before putting Roberts on top of him and rolls out. Hayes drops down from the apron and the referee turns and sees the cover and counts to three.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA FLORIDA CHAMPION: BUDDY ROBERTS

As the bell rings Hayes checks on Roberts as Gordy immediately begins attacking Von Erich. Once Roberts is aware and awake he and Hayes join in and it’s three on one. Von Erich is opened up when Hayes takes off his belt and wraps it around his fist, laying in right hands. Finally they leave Von Erich face down in his own blood. The Fabulous Freebirds have arrived!

<em>Tony Schiavone is joined by the Four Horsemen and their manager Bobby Heenan. Flair says he heard Dusty Rhodes talking about the hourglass earlier but these are indeed the end of days of Dusty Rhodes’ title reign. Finally Tully who’s been uncharacteristically quiet lets us know that we need to turn into the show next Wednesday and witness not only the crowning of a new champ but his own crystal clear message that he promises will be one not to be forgotten for a long long time. Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show while standing ringside in a sold out arena. Solie goes on to detail some of the action we’ll see today including Tommy Rich, the Fabulous Ones and Roddy Piper teaming with Bob Orton in action. We then go to the ring announcer for our opening contest.

<b>TOMMY RICH VS PAT TANAKA</b>

Rich and Tanaka trade the advantage several times before Rich is whipped into the ropes, but he ducks a clothesline and when he rebounds he hits the Thesz Press for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TOMMY RICH

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

ZNJtUse.jpgHo8F3ep.jpg

Tommy Rich joins Gordon Solie at ringside. Rich says he’s heard that fat blowhard Percy Pringle long enough. Rich says he doesn’t like to do a lot of talking on a microphone, he prefers to do it in the ring so if Pringle and Callous are in the mood he’ll be in New Orleans this Wednesday and they can do their talking then!

<b>THE FABULOUS ONES VS THE MULKEYS</b>

The Fabulous Ones are seamless in this as they use quick tags and double teams to wear down the Mulkeys before they hit their superkick/german finish.

<b>STEVE WILLIAMS VS SD JONES</b>

Jones is flattened by a running clothesline as soon as the bell rings and it gets worse from there. Williams throws him around for several minutes, punishing him with suplexes before he ends it with the Ura nage.

WINNER BY PINFALL: STEVE WILLIAMS

Roddy Piper and Bob Orton come down to the ring and shake hands with Jim Cornette. Piper asks if anyone has seen ‘Dicky’ but Cornette says he sure hasn’t. Piper tells us that he and “Ace’ are in the mood to hurt some more people tonight so let’s bring the fresh meat into the tiger cage!

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>RODDY PIPER AND BOB ORTON VS OWEN HART AND PAUL DIAMOND</b>

Piper and Orton keep their promise in beating the tar out of their younger opponents and when Orton hits a superplex on Hart, Piper tags in, putting his boot on Hart for the win with a wide smirk.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: RODDY PIPER AND BOB ORTON

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette hype this Wednesday’s big event, the Bayou Battle right here on TBS. It will be highlighted by Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair for the biggest prize in professional wrestling!

<b>JIMMY GARVIN AND RICK RUDE W/MISSY VS ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS ©</b><span style="font-weight:normal;"> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Most of the first half of the match is a standard affair where the teams trade the advantage until Morton is trapped in the corner and begins taking a beating. Rude lays in some stiff kicks while playing to Missy on the outside. Garvin gets the tag and after peppering Morton with some punches he too tries to get Missy’s attention but she’s looking at Rude. This allows Morton to make the hot tag to Gibson.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Robert is on fire as he lays into Garving, whipping him into the ropes and hitting a backdrop. Rude charges into the ring and he gets one too. The crowd is excited as Gibson continues taking care of business until Garvin hits him questionably low, unseen by the referee. Morton comes in to protest allowing Garvin and Rude to double team Gibson in their corner for a few moments. Garvin goes for a brainbuster but Gibson slips out the back and dives, making the tag to Morton.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Morton, like his partner before him, lights into Garvin with a dropkick, then dropkicks Rude off the apron as Gibson comes into the ring to fight with Garvin. With things going the champions’ way Missy climbs onto the apron which catches Morton’s eye. Rude, who has recovered grabs one of the US Tag Title belts and slips back into the ring, nailing Morton with it in the back of the head before hitting the Rude Awakening. He ditches as Referee Earl Hebner forces Gibson to exit the ring. Garvin turns and sees Morton out, makes a cover and they get the three count before Gibson can break it up.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

The new champions waste no time in grabbing their US Tag Title belts and heading up the aisle with Missy in tow. Following the commercial break we’re ready for the next match and the challenger Magnum T.A. is introduced first. <b>MAGNUM T.A. VS RANDY SAVAGE © W/WOMAN</b><span style="font-weight:normal;"> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Savage continues his assault, bashing Magnum’s head into the guardrail twice but on the third time Magnum puts on the brakes and smashes Savage into it. Savage staggers away towards the ring but Magnum follows and throws the champion into the ringpost causing Savage to do a fantastic jumping bump. Magnum tries to pick Savage up but Woman jumps on his back, clawing at his eyes but he snapmares her over his shoulder onto Savage to the crowd’s delight. </strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Magnum rolls Savage into the ring and goes for the cover but it’s only a one count. Magnum keeps up the pressure but thanks to a poke in the eye Savage takes control and throws Magnum over the top rope to the floor below. Jim Ross reminds us there is no disqualification so that is completely legal tonight. Savage climbs to the top and drops a double axe handle over Magnum’s back. Savage goes for a piledriver on the concrete floor but Magnum reverses it into a backdrop and goes for the cover, again legal in this match, but it’s only a two count. </strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

The two continue to brawl at ringside and into the aisle where Savage hits a rolling neckbreaker onto the concrete but Magnum kicks out at 2 ½. Savage looks up at the turnbuckles and climbs to the top. He’s setting up Magnum for another double axe handle but when he drops down Magnum catches him and fluidly turns it into a belly to belly on the floor as the crowd explodes. Suddenly Tully Blanchard breaks up the cover whacking Magnum over the back with a chair. Tully backs off with a big smile as Savage crawls over and drapes an arm over Magnum. 1…..2…..3.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

<b>SAM HOUSTON VS RICKY STEAMBOAT © </b><span style="font-weight:normal;"> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>They circle each other and lock up and suddenly Houston throws Steamboat with an arm drag which surprises the champion. The champion lays into Houston with precise martial arts strikes but every time Steamboat goes for the pin Houston kicks out. </strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Steamboat begins to show signs of a mixture of respect and frustration and it leads him to take a chance going to the top rope but Houston lays in a punch to the gut on the way down. Houston then goes on the offensive, showing what he’s capable of, and when Steamboat is in position he hits the running bulldog but just before the three count Steamboat gets his foot on the bottom rope. Houston picks up Steamboat and whips him into the corner but when he charges Steamboat moves and Houston crashes chest first. </strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Sensing the opening Steamboat climbs to the top and when Houston stands he soars with the cross body block but when they land Houston rolls through it and ends up on top of Steamboat as the referee counts to three.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

He then asks JYD why he decided to be a guppie in Piper’s ocean. JYD goes to answer but Piper pulls the mic away and says he already knows the reason, it’s because JYD is a follower, like all these morons in New Orleans. He then asks JYD how it feels to be the third best wrestler in the ring right now. JYD is about to answer when the mic is pulled again and Piper says obviously JYD is used to that when Piper and Orton are around Piper then says his last question is multiple choice. Orton, who had been circling behind JYD attacks but is quickly thwarted and a big headbutt sends him rolling to the outside. <b>TOMMY RICH VS MEAN MARK CALLOUS W/PERCY PRINGLE III</b><span style="font-weight:normal;"> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>The mutual disdain is evident as they go at it tooth and nail from the opening bell. Rich has the experience even at his young age and he uses it to keep the bigger man on his heels. But Callous eventually catches Rich with a solid punch to the gut and then begins laying into him with rights and lefts in the corner like a boxer looking for a knockout. When Rich staggers forward Callous boots him in the face and makes a very loose cover which allows Rich to kick out.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Callous isn’t very happy about that and keeps on the attack, grinding the former NWA Champion down with elbow shots, chokes, and vicious knees into the small of his back. Callous picks up Rich and slams him before climbing unsteadily to the top but Rich hits the ropes and crotches Callous which brings a laugh from the crowd. Rich lays in several right hands before launching Callous with a military press slam off the top and makes the cover but Callous kicks out. Rich waits for Callous to almost be on his feet before he hits the ropes to build momentum for a Thesz Press when Callous kicks him with a big boot. Rich doesn't go down but he's standing straight up dazed. Callous moves in and picks Rich’s left arm up and delivers the heart punch which drops Tommy in the middle of the ring. <b>RIC FLAIR W/BOBBY HEENAN VS DUSTY RHODES ©</b><span style="font-weight:normal;"> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><strong>Flair and Rhodes go at each other non stop, trading the momentum nearly a dozen times by the time the match ends. Dusty takes control early, stunning Flair with several jabs and elbows before whipping him into the ropes. Flair does his customary cartwheel flip and runs down the apron only to run into a left hand which sends him toppling to the floor. Flair regroups with Heenan but Rhodes isn’t finished and pulls him up to the apron by the hair. Flair however rakes the eyes and gets himself a breather. As Rhodes turns his back to recover Flair re-enters the ring and runs with a chop block to the back of Rhodes’ left knee. </strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Flair spends the next few minutes torturing the champion and using pinpoint precision to focus on the knee. Rhodes does everything he can to create some space but Flair is relentless. When Flair goes for the Figure Four, Dusty kicks him off and sends Flair high into the corner. Flair hits his head on the post above the turnbuckles and begins to bleed. Dusty pulls himself up and rests for a few moments and when Flair comes back to fight he rope-a-dopes him, blocking a punch from flair and stinging back with a jab of his own. On the third attempt he connects so well that Flair spins around and walks away, falling flat on his face.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

Dusty hobbles as best he can and lands a big elbow drop onto Flair’s back but it gets a two count. Flair is trying to crawl out of the ring but Dusty has his legs. Heenan reaches under the rope to help and Dusty pulls him into the ring too. Heenan looks petrified and tries to run but Rhodes catches him and gives him a Bionic Elbow for his trouble sending Heenan toppling over the top rope. Flair again hits the chop block and lays into Rhodes with stiff chops causing Dusty to cry out in pain. Flair goes to the apron and puts Dusty into position for a suplex which Tony Schiavone decries would be akin to a crime against humanity. Flair tries once but Rhodes blocks. He tries twice but it’s blocked again. On the third time Dusty reverses it and picks up Flair for a suplex back into the ring but his leg gives out and Flair lands on top of him. Heenan, who had been knocked to the floor earlier, pops up and grabs Dusty’s foot holding it down to help Flair out of the sight of Referee Tommy Young as he counts to three.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong> </strong></em></p><p><em><strong>

They hold him up as a bloody maniacal Flair gets within a foot of Dusty, nearly pushing the title belt into his face as he screams ‘It’s mine!’ before Ric backs up a few steps and runs, smashing Dusty in the head with the belt busting him open. Dusty goes down in a heap as Flair holds the blood stained title in the air and the show comes to an end.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross welcome us to this week’s episode of World Championship Wrestling and talk about how the world of the NWA has changed drastically. As everyone saw on Wednesday night we have a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion, the Nature Boy Ric Flair. We also have new United States Tag Team Champions, Jimmy Garvin and Rick Rude. They'll be with us later and yet another new champion in what some called a major upset, Sam Houston is our new NWA World Television Champion and he is kicking off the show with his first title defense!

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

<b>SAM HOUSTON © VS MARTY JANNETTY</b>

The match is near constant action as they trade move for move. Jannetty is hard to keep down and even begins building momentum to the point the announcers question if Houston is in trouble but Jannetty makes a crucial mistake when he tries a high risk top rope senton but when Houston rolls out of the way Jannetty crashes and burns. Houston gets his second wind and when a staggered Jannetty begins to get to his feet, Houston hits the bulldog for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA TELEVISION CHAMPION: SAM HOUSTON

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

oH2JHcO.jpgJZ4Y9Es.jpg

Jim Ross welcomes the new NWA Television Champion Sam Houston to the set and congratulates him on the win. Houston thanks Ross and says he is so proud to hold the belt. He talks up Ricky Steamboat as such a great example of what a champion is and he will keep Steamboat’s tradition alive and will defend the title every week here on World Championship Wrestling and he hopes he can make everyone proud.

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

<b>TED DIBIASE VS DENNIS CONDREY</b>

A solid back and forth with two veterans who know their way around the ring. Condrey just looks like a duck out of water in singles competition but he holds his own until Dibiase gains the upper hand and puts Condrey on his back with a vertical suplex. Dibiase drops the diving fist and gets the 123.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TED DIBIASE

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

VOhI2jj.jpgMYEQeje.jpgs9wNPHb.jpgHmXsliq.jpg

Tony Schiavone welcomes the new NWA United States Tag Team Champions Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin and Ravishing Rick Rude along with Missy, Rude says that there was never any doubt they would walk out the new champs. Garvin is overjoyed and says the hard part starts now and that is keeping these belts around their waists. Rude cuts him off and says their secret weapon is something no one in the NWA has. He smiles down at an adoring Missy which seems to dim Garvin’s mood as they walk off.

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

<b>TULLY BLANCHARD W/BOBBY HEENAN VS JERRY STUBBS</b>

Blanchard is in full control and the match isn’t competitive at any point. After showing off, much to Heenan’s praise, Tully hits the slingshot suplex for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TULLY BLANCHARD

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

oH2JHcO.jpgKY9TWae.jpg2APow2o.jpg

Tully Blanchard and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross. Ross says Blanchard cannot seriously be proud of what he did at Bayou Battle but Tully cuts him off and says it was one of the proudest moments of his life. Because he sent his message to someone who really needed it. Magnum T.A. has been walking around thinking he’s destined to be a champion but that is only for the cream of the crop and that certainly isn’t Magnum. Heenan adds that as far as the Horsemen are concerned Magnum is yesterday’s news but if they ever see him again it won’t end any better than it did on Wednesday!

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

xMnFxnE.jpgCbtcvTE.jpghntPIVX.jpgiSYuw19.jpg

<b>ARN ANDERSON W/OLE ANDERSON VS ITALIAN STALLION</b>

Anderson starts off fast and it looks like it’ll be a repeat of Blanchard’s match earlier but Italian Stallion begins firing back an Arn ditches to the outside, slapping the apron in frustration, Ole calms him down, refocusing him. It helps drastically as Arn re-enters the ring and takes over. It helps that when the referee isn’t looking Ole gets in a solid right hand punch as well. Stallion is whipped into the ropes and when he comes off Arn hits a spinning spinebuster for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: ARN ANDERSON

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

VOhI2jj.jpgeiNDKyZ.jpgYbDUk0T.jpg

Tony Schiavone welcomes the NWA United States Champion, Macho Man Randy Savage and his Woman to the set. Savage says he is the greatest United States Champion in history and once again he overcame the challenge of an inferior opponent. Schiavone tries to bring up Tully Blanchard’s interference but Savage denies it happened, saying he doesn’t recall that. Savage’s mood sours though when someone joins them...

pzpoUkt.jpg

Ricky Steamboat says he cannot believe that Savage, who claims to be a great champion, can accept a tainted victory like that. Steamboat says he’d have rather lost his title to a worthy opponent like Sam Houton then be saved by someone else and claim some great victory. Savage says that's the difference between them because one has a belt and one doesn’t. One is a winner and one is a loser. Steamboat obviously takes offense and says if Savage wants to see a winner and a loser then Steamboat will meet him in that ring and show him. Savage backs off a few steps and says if Steamboat proves himself then maybe someday but right now Savage has no time for losers. He and Woman leave.

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

XIxIubm.jpghntPIVX.jpgdVASdWH.jpg

<b>TERRY FUNK VS TIM HORNER</b>

Funk is the definition of aggressive in this as he attacks Horner before the bell and never lets up. The action spills outside after Horner is thrown through the ropes and Funk batters him before rolling him back into the ring. Horner is in trouble and the end comes quickly following a stump piledriver.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TERRY FUNK

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

oH2JHcO.jpgYyHInT6.jpgKY9TWae.jpgoqtPmP2.jpgCbtcvTE.jpg2APow2o.jpg

Jim Ross welcomes the Four Horsemen and Bobby Heenan and he congratulates Flair on being once again the NWA World Champion. Flair says he wants everyone to take a long look at what a champion is supposed to look like. He’s got a five thousand dollar suit, a thousand dollar pair of shoes, a twenty thousand dollar Rolex watch, he’s got the girls, he’s got the cars, he’s got the jets and the limos and the yachts. Now for months Flair has said Dusty Rhodes sullied the world title belt. Flair points out Rhodes’ blood is still dried and stained and it sickens him. This belt physically is ruined thanks to Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair will not carry ten pounds of gold which have been treated like ten pounds of crap. Bobby Heenan puts a briefcase on the desk and opens it, removing a new belt and handing it to Flair.

ATSee4z.jpg

The Horsemen all applaud as the belt is put around Flair’s waist. Arn comments that the new World’s Championship is everything Ric Flair is and everything Dusty Rhodes is not. Tully agrees asking how much the belt cost and Flair quips ‘more than a rathole ranch’. Ole makes the point clear: Ric Flair is the champion and by hook, by crook, by any means necessary, the Horsemen will make sure that never changes! They all put their hands on top of each other as Flair gives us a WOOOOO! as the show ends.

Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show while standing ringside in a sold out arena. Solie goes on to detail some of the action we’ll see today including Barry Windham and Ted Dibiase in action. We then go to the ring announcer for our opening contest.

<b>TERRY TAYLOR VS COL. DEBEERS</b>

DeBeers looked confused and angry as soon as Taylor was announced and made his way to the ring. DeBeers argues with the referee but when the bell rings Taylor is ready for a fight. DeBeers however is not, and he ducks out of the ring and stands there with his hand on his hips as the referee counts to ten.

WINNER BY COUNTOUT: TERRY TAYLOR

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

ZNJtUse.jpglOZrBZa.jpg

Gordon Solie approaches Colonel DeBeers wondering what in the world is happening. DeBeers says that he specifically told NWA officials he would not fight anyone like the man in that ring. He told them specifically the type of opponents suitable for a man like himself, so tonight he will accept this forfeiture because his honor is still intact.

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>TED DIBIASE VS STEVE CASEY</b>

Dibiase controls the match throughout, looking very crisp. Casey looks good in a losing effort but when Dibiase drops a diving fist it’s all over.

WINNER BY PINFALL: TED DIBIASE

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>BARRY WINDHAM W/JAMES J. DILLON VS THE TONGA KID</b>

Both men are tremendous athletes but Windham is truly a blue chip in the ring. He catches Tonga in the middle of a cross body block and drops him in a back breaker but doesn’t release him and hits a second back breaker. Windham shows off some power, throwing Tonga around before he ends it with a running lariat.

WINNER BY PINFALL: BARRY WINDHAM

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

Roddy Piper and Bob Orton are introduced by Jim Cornette at ringside. Piper says he’s never seen such disrespect. He’s never seen a man with an ego so big. Junkyard Dog was invited as a guest and all he did was walk in, hike his leg up and relieve himself all over the good names of Roddy Piper and Bob Orton! Piper says if the little puppy makes a mess you hit it in the nose with a newspaper. Well, he and Ace got a hell of a newspaper for him the next time they see him!

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

<b>MICHAEL HAYES AND TERRY GORDY W/BUDDY ROBERTS VS BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG</b>

Hayes thinks he’s the best thing in the ring but when he tangles with Brad Armstrong he finds himself on the losing end. He tags in Gordy and that changes the dynamic. The Freebirds double team and in some cases triple team their opponents until both Armstrongs are worn down and that’s when Gordy hits a running leg drop on Bullet Bob. Hayes quickly tags in and makes the cover for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: MICHAEL HAYES AND TERRY GORDY

<div style="color:rgb(16, 90, 186);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(255, 184, 43);"></div>

fHawdXZ.jpgW1rm54l.jpgIfzx9I7.jpg

The Freebirds hold court in the ring after the match. Hayes says you can tell the Freebirds are back because the Von Erichs turn tail and run back to daddy! Well they’re here to do what Freebirds do best and that means anything they want! So whether it’s singles competition, tag team, or six man, if anyone wants to take a trip down Badstreet they won’t be hard to find!

A standard but quality tag team match. The Guerreros hold an early advantage but it isn’t long until the Fabulous Ones seize on a mistake by Chavo and take over. Hector ends up eating the superkick/german finish.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: THE FABULOUS ONES

The Horsemen join Jim Ross on the set. They’re all dressed to the nines, except Ole who is wearing jeans and a t-shirt that just says ‘evil’. In the audience are several young men also in suits and sunglasses holding up four fingers. Flair is elated, saying that class is spreading as we can see and it will continue to spread as the Four Horsemen do what they want, when they want. Tully adds that it isn’t just the guys we see wanting to emulate the Horsemen, it’s the women who line the lobbies of the hotels from town to town who want to spend just five minutes in their presence. Ole reminds us however the name of the game is money and winning and nobody does it better than them!

<b>SAM HOUSTON © VS SHAWN MICHAELS</b>

Like his match last week with Michaels’ partner Jannetty, Sam Houston puts on a very high energy match though Michaels is clearly a better opponent. They trade the momentum back and forth but when Michaels whips Houston into the corner he attempts to do a superkick but Houston rolls out of the way and Michaels kicks the turnbuckle seemingly injuring his knee. Seeing his opponent bent over, Houston springs into action and hits the bulldog for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION: SAM HOUSTON

Tony Shiavone welcomes the Rock n Roll Express. They say they want to come out and thank their fans who have stood by them all these years and to apologize for their recent performance when they lost their NWA United States Tag Team titles. They know Jimmy Garvin and Rick Rude cheated but it should never even gotten to the point where they had the opportunity. But Ricky and Robert promise two things; they will show the world the power of rock and roll and they will get those titles back!

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

<b>ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS VS BUDDY ROSE AND DOUG SOMERS</b>

True to their word Ricky and Robert are on fire in this match and even though Rose and Sommers are a quality team they don’t stand a chance in this one. After several minutes of quick tags and legal double teams, Rose eats a double dropkick and Gibson makes the cover.

WINNER BY PINFALL: ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

Paul Ellering and the NWA Tag Team Tag Team Champions, the Road Warriors come out and join Jim Ross. Ellering says there’s a lot of people who talk the talk but there’s very few who walk the walk. These two men not only walk, they run towards a fight. Ever since they won these belts it’s been clear that they are not only the toughest men in professional wrestling, the most feared, but they are without a shadow of a doubt the greatest tag team in the world. Now they’re issuing a challenge throughout the National Wrestling Alliance. If you want these titles just put your names on the line.

Or as Hawk so eloquently puts it: Step up, take a chance, and get hurt real bad!

Steamboat is sharp in his first match as the former NWA Television Champion. It doesn’t take him long to take control and he never gives it back. With Jones stunned, Steamboat flies off the top with his flying cross body block for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: RICKY STEAMBOAT

Dillon says he and Windham have been looking at the entirety of the NWA in their search for gold and it appears that like a lion hunting a gazelle, the lion locks onto the weakest prey to collect as it’s prize. And Dillon has decided the weakest prey right now for Barry Windham is a man named Gino Hernandez who’s carrying around the NWA Central title, a title he doesn’t deserve and a title that Barry Windham has decided he wants to own. So the choice is very simple. As they say we can do it the easy way or the hard way. Gino Hernandez can either forfeit the title to Mr. Windham or, and this is “the more enjoyable option”, Barry Windham can beat it out of him. The choice belongs to Hernandez but they won’t wait long for an answer.

<b>MAGNUM TA VS PAT TANAKA</b>

A good match and Tanaka is skilled enough to hold his own in the early going but Magnum takes over and is really feeding off the fans’ energy as he wears Tanaka down before hitting the belly to belly suplex for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: MAGNUM TA

<div style="color:rgb(26, 26, 26);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:3px solid rgb(0, 0, 51);"></div>

Magnum walks over to join Tony Schiavone post-match. He tells his fans that the summer was hot but the fall is going to be the season of Magnum TA! Before he gets much further he backs away from Schiavone in a defensive posture as the Four Horsemen run into the scene and attack.

Overwhelmed by sheer numbers Magnum tries his best but he’s soon at the mercy of those without mercy. The Andersons carry him to the nearby ring and cover him. Ric Flair who by now has shed his suit jacket grabs Magnum’s right arm and holds it out from his body and we see why. Tully Blanchard has collected a chair and he jabs it down into Magnum’s arm several times which brings cries of pain from the victim.

As Schiavoni calls the action he’s witnessing, Tully and Flair put Magnum’s arm through the chair and Blanchard hops up on the second rope before jumping off onto the chair. Magnum visibly writhes in pain but seconds later help arrives.

Hawk and Animal hit the ring and begin fighting all Four Horsemen, sending them from the ring. The Horsemen begin to think of how to use their numbers but when Animal picks up the chair they dismiss that plan and back away happy with what they’ve accomplished. Magnum is laying in the ring clutching his arm as Hawk yells for help as the show ends.

Gordon Solie and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show while standing ringside in a sold out arena. Solie goes on to detail some of the action we’ll see today including Jake Roberts and Gino Hernandez in a NWA Central Title match. All that and more in action. We then go to the ring announcer for our opening contest.

<b>JAKE ROBERTS VS SCOTT ARMSTRONG</b>

Roberts dominates a short match using most of his usual offensive moves before ending it with the DDT.

WINNER BY PINFALL: JAKE ROBERTS

Cornette is a little anxious to approach Jake and specifically the bag which is still writhing but Jake says he can relax because Jake likes Cornette. They have a lot in common but you see the ones who need to be nervous are the people Jake doesn't like. Because if he doesn't like you..well, that's bad news for you. He tells us to trust him, soon enough all will be revealed.

<b>JIMMY GARVIN AND RICK RUDE W/MISSY © VS THE FANTASTICS</b>

A very good back and forth with the champions looking in danger a few times but Rude shuts down the Fantastics' comeback and tags Garvin in who delivers a brainbuster to Tommy Rogers for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: JIMMY GARVIN AND RICK RUDE

<b>MEAN MARK CALLOUS W/PERCY PRINGLE III VS MIKE RAPADA</b>

Rapada eats a boot in the face as soon as the bell rings and it goes down from there. Callous pummels the smaller man before using a series of moves showing off his power before he ends it with the heart punch.

WINNER BY PINFALL: MEAN MARK CALLOUS

Percy Pringle III gets up into the ring, telling everyone he told us so! He says now his man has been released and nobody is safe! Callous in the background is just looking menacing.

<b>GINO HERNANDEZ © VS TOM PRICHARD</b>

Gino shines in this title defense and doesn’t waste any time in putting his opponent in position to be defeated. Hernandez is supremely athletic and he debuts a new finisher which Solie refers to as ‘the Crash’ when he climbs to the second rope, walks the ropes for a few steps and drops an elbow right down onto Prichard.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL NWA CENTRAL CHAMPION: GINO HERNANDEZ
