In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, roughly 11 minutes in to the match, with El Espiritu and Young Guns down, Levi Andrews directed Friedrich Herzog to get a chair. Andrews however, threw the chair into the middle of the ring but kept the referee tied up in the corner.

Joe Boone then came to the ring and confronted Herzog in the middle of the ring, snatching the chair away from him. SPW 4th of July Aftermath

Aftermath

With El Espiritu jumping over to the babyface side of the fence a few months back, the heel side was in need of some reinforcement at the top of the card. It had therefore been the plan to turn either Daniel Loiselle or Joe Boone and the management team had been debating which one it should be for the best part of 3 months.

Frank Norris wanted it to be Loiselle, he felt that the former champion was pretty vanilla as a babyface but that this could be used as a positive if he was to become a bad guy, especially if he became part of The Alliance and Levi Andrews did most of his talking for him.

Jay Lutter however, was not keen. He felt that there was no real reason that the Loiselle character could give himself to justify moving over to the dark side. Sure Loiselle had lost to El Espiritu at The Anniversary Show and was yet to defeat the current champion in the 3 singles matches they'd had, but it would be completely out of the blue. It was important to Lutter that within the stories they wrote, the characters had a reason to do the things they did- it also wouldn't make sense for Loiselle to side with The Alliance given the war they had fought for large parts of the previous year.

To Lutter, Joe Boone was a much better choice, and in the end, Loomis agreed. Loomis also felt that turning Daniel Loiselle, the main hero of the promotion for the first year of its existence, would completely demoralise the audience- if they felt as if they couldn't trust anyone to play the hero, then they would soon disengage with the product.

After the show, Boone was happy with how the turn went, but was clear with Loomis that there was still work to do, and he'd have to knock it out of the park when he gave his explanation in order to make people believe in the turn.

While the in-ring quality had been fine for the show, Jay Lutter felt that there wasn't enough storyline work on it. Loomis had cut back on the amount of major developments because he had wanted the Joe Boone heel turn to stand out as much as it could.

Leroy Disco was once again given praise for his role in the Night Fever/No Nonsense match which he had pretty much carried.

There was no time for a party, despite it being the 4th of July, as Southern Pro Wrestling had another show in 2 days time in Beaumont, Texas. Don Loomis told everyone to get an early night and he would see them in a couple of days- though he suspected that a number of them would still be out drinking that night- especially as 4 or 5 of the roster had not been booked for the show.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Austyn Taylor

Doubful Taylor would go over Loiselle here despite his recent push.

El Espiritu & Young Guns vs. The Alliance

Thinking Alliance gets one over the champ here considering that I don´t see any of them beating Espiritu in 1 vs. 1 (Well Herzog probably could but I simply don´t see Espiritu dropping the belt before this feud is over).

Dustin David vs. Carl Hackney

I see David being higher on pecking order at the moment.

Joe Boone vs. Sir Anthony Henry

I do rate Boone higher and Henry have had a loss or two that makes me wonder if you are using more as a gatekeeper than actual main eventer. That said, something on the way you write on Boone looking for another title shots kind of makes me expect a heel turn on him if he ain´t given title shot soon and thinking loss here could lead to that outcome. Another reason why I´m thinking Boone might get a turn is that I rate Loiselle, Espiritu and Boone as the top 3 in-ring performers (again from the starting 7 and I doubt any newly created guy would already be on their level) and right now they are all faces, which is kind of fine but personally I prefer my top in-ring guys to be on different alignments as I feel it does give more options to pick good main events with wider cast.

Saita Kuroki & The Kuroki Boys vs. Perry Bryant & Escuadron

Kuroki seems to be getting a gatekeeper role these days and with Bryant already going over him in 1 vs. 1 and Kuroki Boys still being new and likely two least popular guys in this match, I´m thinking this will be another occasion were Kuroki will put other´s over him although I´m sure one of the Boys will eat the pin in that case.

The Puzzler vs. Michael King

I actually go with King here as Puzzler´s match ratings have been kind of bad and his momentum likely ain´t great with being on the losing end on most matches (as inevitably, pretty much any newcomer will) so I feel there´s more upside to give King an early win and see if he manages to give better ratings than Puzzler and if he shows promise, perhaps he can get enough wins that his momentum won´t be tanking on the same way Puzzler´s likely already is.

Night Fever vs. No Nonsense

You seem to be decently high on Disco and his performance and No Nonsense have lost more often than not so I pick Night Fever here. Oh, and yes, there´s also that face champ argument again that I seem to be using on every tag match you booked in last few shows but you likely guessed that already.

Mike Lewis vs. Albert Berik

I don´t see Lewis getting a win over Henry (yes, it was a DQ but still) only to lose here so assuming Mike picks another win.

6 out of 8- And you were right about Boone's heel turn. Like you said, we had all the best workers on the one side of the divide and needed someone over there. There was also an element of The Alliance needing a boost- I didn't want to simply rerun their feud with Loiselle but with El Espiritu in his place.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Austyn Taylor

El Espiritu & Young Guns vs. The Alliance

Dustin David vs. Carl Hackney

Joe Boone vs. Sir Anthony Henry

Saita Kuroki & The Kuroki Boys vs. Perry Bryant & Escuadron

The Puzzler vs. Michael King

Night Fever vs. No Nonsense

Mike Lewis vs. Albert Berik

5 out of 8- I think your faith in Carl Hackney is costing you!

SPW Pro Wrestling 17 Preview

Finally Southern Pro Wrestling returns to Texas for another slice of the finest fighting action in all of the United States of America- and SPW are making history as they introduce a new singles title just for the Mid South region!

That's right folks, the feature attraction at SPW Pro Wrestling 17 will be an 8-man single elimination tournament featuring 8 of the hungriest competitors around all vying for the new SPW Mid South Title.

The 8 competitors are: Beau Joslin, Danny Cool, Dustin David, Leroy Disco, Nathan Hayes, Roland Pascual, Squire Albert Berik and Tetsuyuki Ishibashi, and to take the title the winner will have to be victorious in 3 matches in 1 night!

When announcing the tournament, SPW President Don Loomis had the following to say "We intend to return to the Mid South region more and more as SPW continues to grow and to show that we mean business, we thought it a good idea to introduce a title that would only be able to be on the line while we are in the Mid South. This will ensure we can put on an exclusive showcase attraction every time we come to the area, one that you won't be able to see anywhere else."

In addition to this prestigious tournament, there will also be a massive tag team match as SPW World Champion, El Espiritu, teams with Saita Kuroki against The Alliance's Levi Andrews & Friedrich Herzog. On the 4th of July, Joe Boone struck a faithful blow to the head of El Espiritu to enable The Alliance to pick up a major 6-man tag victory. Due to his heinous actions on that night, Joe Boone has been told by Don Loomis to stay away from the show in Beaumont, but El Espiritu will still be out for revenge as his war with The Alliance shows no signs of slowing. He will be joined by Saita Kuroki who has a long history with The Alliance pair so this promises to be a wild confrontation.

All this and lots more as the grappling stars of Southern Pro Wrestling make their triumphant Beaumont return!

Announced Matches

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Beau Joslin vs. Leroy Disco

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Dustin David vs. Danny Cool

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Roland Pascual vs. Nathan Hayes

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Tetsuyuki Ishibashi vs. Squire Albert Berik

El Espiritu & Saita Kuroki vs. The Alliance

<em>So, I think Hayes would go in the finals over Ishibashi (I´m assuming here that the guys in first two matches will face each other´s next round which ain´t confirmed) so that would mean David needs to go over Disco in order to not have heel vs. heel final. David vs. Hayes I could see ending either way but I go with David as I think the heel side of your roster is slightly stronger than the face side currently, meaning more feud options for the champ. Also, Hayes has stuff to do with him being part of the Alliance so I don´t think he would need the belt to stay relevant while being a champ would certainly give boost to David. So </em><em><strong>Dustin David</strong></em><em> will be my answer and I would stick to that answer even if David vs Disco would end up being the final (don´t see Ishibashi getting past second round regardless of the opponent he faces).</em></p>

With the quarter final matches done, we got a surprise as Austyn Taylor came to the ring and had the following to say: "2 days ago on the 4th of July I was robbed of victory by a man that all you people admire because you think he's so virtuous and pure. Well let me tell you that your hero cut every corner and used every dirty trick in the book to defeat me. July 1921 Aftermath & News

Aftermath

The roster had grown a lot over the past year, there were now 24 wrestlers on Southern Pro Wrestling's books and still no sign that Loomis was done trying to unearth new talent to bring in. There was however, quite a pronounced and obvious gap between the 7 SPW originals, in particular El Espiritu, Daniel Loiselle, Friedrich Herzog and Joe Boone, and the rest of the roster- it seemed unlikely that the likes of Nathan Hayes, Dustin David or any of the others were going to be challenging for the World Title any time soon.

That's why Frank Norris had introduced the idea of a secondary singles title at one of the recent booking meetings. The idea had instantly been a hit with his colleagues. Don Loomis was the one who decided it would only be defended in the Mid South region however. He intended to visit Beaumont 6 times next year and felt like having a belt that had to be on the line every time they visited, but could never be on the line at any point gave the title a degree of purpose, and would allow the people of Texas to follow the title's lineage.

There were a few men who were a viable option to put the title on- Dustin David had already established a good level of popularity with SPW's fanbase and was performing well but he was ruled out, as SPW's 2 other titles were currently held by babyfaces and a third just felt a little like overkill.

That left the other 2 options that management had in mind- Leroy Disco and Nathan Hayes. Disco had been arguably the most consistent performer outside the 7 originals and had made a good case for himself to hold the title, but management decided Nathan Hayes would be the better pick, not because of any individual quality he held over Disco, but simply because he was part of The Alliance.

It was felt amongst the booking team, that The Alliance still needed to be built bigger to appear as a genuine threat to El Espiritu's title, given that a similar storyline had played out last year with The Alliance against Loiselle and the Champion at the time had come out on top. In order for this Alliance to appear a bigger threat than the previous year, they had already seen Joe Boone join them, but Hayes winning the Mid South Title just gave them an extra level of credibility as a force to be reckoned with.

On a separate note, Masao Kobayashi and Chico de Oro had been told not to attend the event after an argument had flared up between the two at the 4th of July show a couple of days earlier. The two men had been on opposite sides of the ring in a 6-man tag match and both were blaming the other for a blown spot that took place- ironically, nobody else, including those in the match, had noticed the botch, but both swore blind that the other was trying to sabotage the match- clearly the two men simply don't get on.

News

Despite not appearing at SPW Pro Wrestling 17, Daniel Loiselle was still very much a major part of SPW's future plans (obviously) and towards the end of July he signed a new multi-year deal to stay with the company on improved terms. Loiselle was the best wrestler in the promotion and now he was being paid as such.

qjvrP5V.jpg

As noted above, Don Loomis' recruitment drive was continuing, and in July he signed 18 year old prospect Calvin Stevenson to a contract. Stevenson was going to the play the role of a young army recruit who was looking to supplement his general training regime with wrestling matches. Due to his strong looking physique, Don Loomis had big hopes for the youngster.

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Beau Joslin vs. Leroy Disco

You have been praising Disco for his work after few shows so you are likely thinking quite highly on him and this I´d assume he gets past first round

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Dustin David vs. Danny Cool

I´m rating David higher and assuming winner here would face Disco next, hence picking a face on this one.

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Roland Pascual vs. Nathan Hayes

Thinking Hayes gets this one, as he seems to have more going on thanks to him being part of the Alliance who just became even more powerful with Boone on their side..

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Tetsuyuki Ishibashi vs. Squire Albert Berik

I would pick Berik here but since I expect winner to face Hayes next, I go with Ishibashi instead.

El Espiritu & Saita Kuroki vs. The Alliance

Tough one since Alliance won last month but Kuroki seems to be lowest on the pecking order from these four men... thinking Alliance gets another win over champ here since they are more than likely going to lose the next singles match or two.

Bonus prediction opportunity- who will win the tournament?

So, I think Hayes would go in the finals over Ishibashi (I´m assuming here that the guys in first two matches will face each other´s next round which ain´t confirmed) so that would mean David needs to go over Disco in order to not have heel vs. heel final. So Dustin David will be my answer and I would stick to that answer even if David vs Disco would end up being the final (don´t see Ishibashi getting past second round regardless of the opponent he faces).

5 out of 6- so close! Just fell at the last hurdle, I certainly gave David a fair bit of consideration for this spot, but just wanted a little more heat and credibility on The Alliance as we proceed into the rest of the year.

I can only hope. :)

One day he'll win (maybe)!

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Beau Joslin vs. Leroy Disco

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Dustin David vs. Danny Cool

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Roland Pascual vs. Nathan Hayes

Mid South Title Tournament 1st Round: Tetsuyuki Ishibashi vs. Squire Albert Berik

El Espiritu & Saita Kuroki vs. The Alliance

Bonus prediction opportunity- who will win the tournament? Beau Joslin

2 out of 6- unlucky, this is one of those predictions that once you get one wrong, you're lucky to get others wrong too.

Taylor has good entertainment skills.

The mystery on why he has been pushed is finally solved! Haha

Indeed. To be honest, Taylor had a couple of decent matches in late 1920 and then I just persevered with it, unfortunately he just didn't progress at the rate I was hoping for. After the El Espiritu loss, I didn't want to just job him out and leave all that build completely behind, so fed him to Loiselle too!

SPW Pro Wrestling 18 Preview

The finest fighters in the world are back in Jackson for another night of grappling action as Southern Pro Wrestling have announced a massive card for your entertainment!

In the night's feature attraction, El Espiritu will be defending his World Title against The Alliance's giant, the German brute, Friedrich Herzog. The Alliance are on a mission to bring the SPW World Title into their fold and after failing to lure El Espiritu into the group, they have targeted the masked Mexican sensation, not only wrangling this chance for Herzog to take the belt, but also adding Joe Boone to their ranks last month, making them even more dangerous. El Espiritu will need eyes in the back of his head if he's to fend off the potential interference in this one!

On the subject of Joe Boone, he has yet to show his face since the incident last month when he turned on El Espiritu and aligned himself with The Alliance. Boone will be in attendance at this show however, and it is hoped that he will explain himself to the fans who have supported him from day 1.

The title match isn't The Alliance's only key encounter of the night however, as Levi Andrews will take on former World Champion, Daniel Loiselle. Loiselle returned to in-ring action at the 4th of July Show, overcoming Austyn Taylor, and he has vowed to claim back the World Title himself. A victory over Andrews would certainly place him back in the conversation for a title shot, but with Joe Boone having joined them, Andrews and his Alliance buddies can expect to enjoy even more support than previously.

The SPW Tag Team Titles will also be on the line at SPW Pro Wrestling 18, as Young Guns face Escuadron who earned their shot at the belts back in June with victory over No Nonsense. Since entering SPW in February, Escuadron have made an instant impact, impressing with their array of technical offence and rising up the ranks in quick fashion by picking up some big results early on- including a 6-man tag victory alongside Perry Bryant against Saita Kuroki & The Kuroki Boys at the 4th of July Show- now they are one win away from becoming the Tag Team Champions and Young Guns will have a battle to deny them.

Saita Kuroki's problems with Perry Bryant stretch back a couple of months now following Bryant's assault on Kuroki with the ring bell in a match at SPW Pro Wrestling 16. Last month at the 4th of July Show, Bryant once again got one over on his rival when he and Escuadron defeated Kuroki and his proteges Tetsuyuki Ishibashi and Masao Kobayashi in 6-man tag action. At SPW Pro Wrestling 18, Bryant will once again face Kuroki and The Kuroki Boys, as well as Mike Lewis this time, when he is joined by Sir Anthony Taylor and Squire Albert Berik, as well as Austyn Taylor. You may remember that it was Taylor who walked out on Bryant back at last year's Tag Team Title tournament costing them the match, but it appears Bryant is willing to take another chance on Taylor, a man who is notorious for being a loner, in this bout.

There will be 3 other major matches taking place at the show, with newly crowned SPW Mid South Champion, Nathan Hayes in action, Dustin David will also be in the building as will the tag teams Night Fever and No Nonsense. It's a stacked show that you won't want to miss, so make sure you get your tickets now!

SPW World Title Match- El Espiritu © vs. Friedrich Herzog

With Boone now in the Alliance, he would be my first pick to beat the champ over Herzog and so I think Espiritu will retain here.

SPW Tag Team Title Match- Young Guns © vs. Escuadron

I could see Escuadron getting the belts next but don´t think it happens quite yet and there´s another team who I feel are slightly more likely to be be next champs so I have Young Guns retain here.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Levi Andrews

I could see Loiselle losing in order to keep him away from title shot for little while but I don´t see Levi being the guy in the Alliance who would go over him so picking Loiselle here based on his opponent not being on same level in my eyes.

Saita Kuroki, Mike Lewis & The Kuroki Boys vs. Sir Anthony Henry, Squire Albert Berik, Perry Bryant & Austyn Taylor

This is a tough one as I feel Kuroki could use the win and it wouldn´t hurt Lewis either but overall, with Taylor added here I feel that heels have more going on as Taylor has his one feud with Loiselle on top of everyone else here being in feuds with each other´s

Night Fever vs. No Nonsense

Boy did Disco's performance in tournament open my eyes. I know you had praised him before but he´s ratings were so much better than what David and Hayes managed to get in the tournament (or what I have seen Lewis produce lately since he´s another guy who I marked as decent in-ring guy based on few earlier match ratings) that it really did surprise me. Guess he´s really developed nicely in those tag matches as I don´t remember him getting that good ratings in earlier single matches. As I said in the tag titles match, there´s another team who I see getting the belts next over Escuadron and that´s Night Fever with Disco´s performance tipping the previously even scale to Night Fever´s favor in my eyes.

Nathan Hayes vs. The Puzzler

In theory, I could see Puzzler going over in order to establish future title match but I don´t see him being high enough on pecking order to warrant win over Alliance especially sine you said you wanted to boost them

Dustin David & Calvin Stevenson vs. Carl Hackney & Michael King

Tough one here as Stevenson is newbie but David is highest on the pecking order (at least in my eyes) so I could see this one going either way... I go with David as I feel he´s above rest on the guys in this match

Up next, Joe Boone came to the ring and addressed the crowd: "Ever since Southern Pro Wrestling has been in business the powers that be have overlooked me. At the very first show, I wasn't put in the title match, I was shoved to the side in a secondary match and it's gone on from there. Last May I finally got an opportunity to fight for the World Title against Daniel Loiselle, but it was interrupted and ended in a no-contest. Did I ever receive a rematch from Loiselle? No. Then back in April of this year I finally got another chance at the belt against the new champion, El Espiritu. In that match I actually defeated the Champion by disqualification, but once again no rematch was forthcoming. I played the decent guy, and the system played me- it was holding my career back. Now I have joined a group of men who have each other's back, not only in the ring, but where it really counts- at the negotiating table! Now, being part of The Alliance, I know everything will be better- and nobody will take me for granted, push me to the side, or play me, ever again!"

Rating: 40

Match 4: Saita Kuroki, Mike Lewis & The Kuroki Boys vs. Sir Anthony Henry, Squire Albert Berik, Perry Bryant & Austyn Taylor

sMHj4ZP.jpgif10UOT.jpgotIrGJI.jpgAjjSNVs.jpg vs. dX61G2L.jpgMHEy4YU.jpgb3eCW1P.jpg1O264UX.jpg

In a poor match, Saita Kuroki, Mike Lewis and The Kuroki Boys defeated Perry Bryant, Austyn Taylor and The Chivalry in 14:09 when Mike Lewis defeated Squire Albert Berik by pinfall with a Savate Kick. During the match, Austyn Taylor got fed up with his team mates failing to tag him in, and so walked out on his team, as he has been known to do before, leaving his team at a man disadvantage.

Rating: 36

Match 5: Daniel Loiselle vs. Levi Andrews

DIrVef3.jpg vs. jee5VHL.jpg

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Daniel Loiselle defeated Levi Andrews in 15:25 when Levi Andrews was disqualified when Austyn Taylor ran in and attacked Daniel Loiselle.

Rating: 39

After the match, Daniel Loiselle and Austyn Taylor continued to brawl all over the venue and were only broken apart when other wrestlers pulled them away from one another.

SPW World Title Match- El Espiritu © vs. Friedrich Herzog

SPW Tag Team Title Match- Young Guns © vs. Escuadron

Daniel Loiselle vs. Levi Andrews

Saita Kuroki, Mike Lewis & The Kuroki Boys vs. Sir Anthony Henry, Squire Albert Berik, Perry Bryant & Austyn Taylor

Night Fever vs. No Nonsense

Nathan Hayes vs. The Puzzler

Dustin David & Calvin Stevenson vs. Carl Hackney & Michael King

I will never give up on Carl.

6 out of 7- this would have been a perfect score had it not been for your continued faith in Carl Hackney, trust me, you really may want to reconsider that!

6 out of 7- so close! Just that 8-man tag match costing you.

August 1921 Aftermath & News

Aftermath

Dustin David walked through the curtain, shaking his head, followed by Calvin Stevenson who had just made his debut. They Carl Hackney and Michael King weren't far behind, and both looked very angry. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" Hackney shouted ahead of him. At first, Don Loomis had no idea who Hackney was talking to, whoever it was, Hackney was clearly apoplectic about something. Then Hackney grabbed Stevenson by the throat and demanded an apology.

Just as Loomis was set to ask what the hell was going on, Stevenson burst out laughing which just seemed to anger Hackney even more. Thankfully Michael King, Dustin David and others had stepped in by this point and were dragging Hackney away.

It turns out that Stevenson had been high during the match and it had only become clear to the others in the match after his first exchange with Hackney when he slammed Hackney to the mat and almost dropped him on his head. Dustin David had reacted quickly and tagged himself in, then controlled the match without tagging his partner back in and managed to get them to the end.

Loomis had no choice but to fire Stevenson on the night he made his debut. You don't put another guy's safety at risk by turning up to wrestle a match high- Loomis didn't approve of soft drugs anyway but he accepted that a few of the guys indulged in it from time to time after the shows- but to do it before the show, that was just negligent. At the end of the show, Stevenson was already gone, and when Loomis told the rest of the roster, there was no shortage of support for the decision.

Dustin David was thanked for his cool head under pressure and there was also more praise for Leroy Disco who had carried his match in terms of in-ring performance. Also receiving praise was La Oscuridad who, despite being in there with the more experienced Dragon Lee and Roland Pascual, was by the far most impressive of the competitors in the tag title match. Loomis, Jay Lutter and Frank Norris all agreed that there was a number of workers on the roster who were putting themselves into a good position for a future push.

News

To fill the void on the roster brought about by the sacking of Calvin Stevenson, Don Loomis brought in Chauncy Leblanc at the end of the month.

xjocTA7.jpg

Leblanc was a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and standing at 6'10 and 322lbs was a formidable presence with a good look. Loomis directed Jay Lutter to find ways of setting him apart from others on the roster from the get go.

SPW Pro Wrestling 19 Preview

Below is the press release for SPW Pro Wrestling 19:

We're just weeks away from SPW Pro Wrestling 19 as the stars of Southern Pro Wrestling come together for what promises to be the wildest night of grapping action yet!

The headline attraction will be a massive, 15-man 'battle royal' match where the only way to win is survive! The match will begin with all 15 participants in the ring, wrestlers are eliminated by being thrown over the top rope and their feet touching the floor- the last man in the ring is declared the winner. To cap off the historic nature of the contest, the winner will receive a World Title Shot at SPW Octoberfest! That means that the competitors will be giving it their all in pursuit of victory and you can be sure nobody will be holding anything back.

Already signed up for the contest are 3 members of The Alliance as Levi Andrews, Friedrich Herzog and Joe Boone will all be competing- and with the prize at stake being a World Title shot, you can bet that The Alliance will be putting together a plan to come away with the win. Also confirmed for the contest are the current SPW Tag Team Champions, Dragon Lee and Roland Pascual, although a battle royal requires each person to take on all competitors and so there will be no friends in this one. They will also be joined by Dustin David, Leroy Disco, Danny Cool and 7 others in what promises to be an amazing battle.

The show has an incredible array of matches on the undercard as well with SPW World Champion, El Espiritu defending his title against SPW Mid South Champion, Nathan Hayes. Hayes came through an impressive 8 man field in one night to win the Mid South Title a couple of months ago, and more than earned a chance to battle El Espiritu for the title. El Espiritu however is also keen for the fight given his recent feud with The Alliance and so this match will no doubt be very hard fought indeed.

Additionally, Daniel Loiselle will have an opportunity to get his hands on his rival of the last couple of months, when he faces Austyn Taylor in one on one action. Loiselle has had nothing but problems from Taylor since he returned from his brief hiatus from wrestling earlier in the year. Those issues came to a head once more at SPW Pro Wrestling 18 when, after Loiselle had successfully overcome Levi Andrews, Taylor attacked Loiselle from behind. After a brilliant run of 9 matches without defeat, Taylor has struggled lately, having lost to World Champion, El Espiritu, and Daniel Loiselle himself in recent months, so is in need of a win- what will happen when the two battle one another again? Find out by picking up your ticket today!

The personal issues between Sir Anthony Henry and Mike Lewis are due to be settled at SPW Pro Wrestling 19 as well. The two men have been involved in a tussle for personal bragging rights all year and thus far, Mike Lewis has been unable to get a pinfall or submission victory over the wily Brit. Will this be the night that Lewis finally overcomes his rival, or will Sir Anthony Henry figure out another way of maintaining the upper hand?

There has also been bad blood between Saita Kuroki and Perry Bryant as of late with Bryant having defeated Kuroki a few weeks back after hitting Kuroki over the head with the ring bell and knocking the giant sumo legend out. After a couple of matches where the pair have been on opposite sides of the ring in tag encounters, they face one another in singles action again here, and Kuroki has revenge on his mind.

Finally, Escuadron and No Nonsense have found themselves in embroiled in a bitter tag team rivalry as of late, and they'll have another chance to settle their differences at SPW Pro Wrestling 19.

It's a melting pot of personal tension, rivalry and incredibly high stakes, and it's coming to Jackson soon- you don't want to miss this!

15-Man Battle Royal (winner gets a World Title Shot at SPW Octoberfest)

While there ain´t full participant list available for this one, I´d assume that the main names were all mentioned and from those, Boone is the one I would expect to take the win since Herzog and Andrews already had their shots for the belt just recently.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Austyn Taylor

Taylor likely still ain´t on the same level than Loiselle so I´d assume he loses here again. That said, in my eyes, he´s recent losses to Loiselle and Espiritu haven´t really hurt Taylor as I expect everyone except maybe Boone to automatically lose to those two so will be interesting to see if Taylor manages to keep the roster spot he´s now claiming (which I see being basically just behind the original seven) or will he be shuffled back to midcard role after this feud with Loiselle have ended.

Sir Anthony Henry vs. Mike Lewis

Lewis is bit of a same position than Taylor except Henry not being as high caliber opponent than Loiselle. Still, the fact that he´s feuding with Henry (and actually gained bit of success while doing so) have elevated Lewis a bit in my eyes. That said, I still see Henry as bigger name and expect him to go over but much like Taylor, it will be interesting to see were Lewis will go after this one (assuming of course that you plan to continue this one and not jump into TEW2020 now that it´s out :))

Escuadron vs. No Nonsense

No Nonsense did get a win over Night Fever so perhaps they are being build as next challengers for Young Guns... actually, I was planning on picking Escuadron with the usual face champ reasoning but lets mix things up a bit and give No Nonsense a shot, after all, there´s only so many heel teams that you can throw towards the champs.

Saita Kuroki vs. Perry Bryant

Bryant have already gone over Kuroki and you have stated multiple times that you ain´t particularly impressed on Kuroki´s performance so I assume he continues his gatekeeper duty here, except Bryant have already passed the gate. Also, just like Taylor and Lewis, Bryant is yet another guy who I´m keeping close eye regarding on were he would go next

SPW World Title Match- El Espiritu © vs. Nathan Hayes

Much like Levi Andrews, Hayes is a perfect filler challenger for Espiritu, as he have enough name value to challenge Espiritu but not yet enough to go over him especially not with the main belt on line.

<p>September 1921 Aftermath & News</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The Battle Royal was the brainchild of Frank Norris. He had been trying to come up with different ways of presenting pro wrestling to improve the variety on SPW's shows and after a conversation with Saita Kuroki about how they could take the Sumo wrestling template and cast it on to pro wrestling, he considered that, rather than have two men in the ring trying to get the other out (which he felt would be a little simplistic compared to a regular match) they could put the entire roster in there and make a match that while unlikely to have a lot of quality from a technical perspective, would be an awesome visual for the fans in attendance. </p><p> </p><p>

Thanks in part to the battle royal, the show had been the best the promotion had put on since the Anniversary Show, though that was also down to the strong undercard which, had only one match that had a rating below 30. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">News</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

In mid-September, Don Loomis was paid a surprise visit from a group of women who said they had been training themselves to wrestle and wanted the opportunity to compete in Southern Pro Wrestling. Loomis, was an old fashioned guy and was uncertain about the idea until he spoke to Frank Norris and Jay Lutter who both loved the idea of women competing. Norris, still in the mode of trying to find new ways to keep the shows varied, felt that the women would quickly become an added novelty to their shows. Lutter, as usual, was looking at it from a storyline perspective, and saw all kinds of possibilities with the addition of women to the fold.</p><p> </p><p>

Reluctantly, Loomis went back to the women and agreed to sign them to work the 2 shows in October, as a kind of trial, informing them that they would compete in a 4-woman tournament to crown the first women's Champion, with the semi-finals taking place at SPW Pro Wrestling 20, and the final being one of the attractions to sell SPW Octoberfest. </p><p> </p><p>

He still didn't really expect them to be able to perform at a level that would be satisfactory and felt it likely that Norris and Lutter would see them in action and agree, but for now he was trying to keep an open mind.</p><p> </p><p>

The first four female professional wrestlers then, were:</p><p> </p><p>

Consuelo Montero, from Mexico had tasked herself with learning the style most closely associated with El Espiritu. The women themselves had been working with one another for a while, and they had decided between them what their characters and disposition were going to be- Montero would be a slightly unhinged heel.</p><p> </p><p>

Diamanta Dubois, was another woman who would be cast as a heel, she would be more calculating than Montero. Loomis felt her name was too French sounding (she was originally from Quebec, Canada) and wanted something a little more neutral. When she suggested she just be called 'Diamanta', Loomis was happy.</p><p> </p><p>

Melinda Bell was the girl next door type, and the only American amongst the group, and therefore the instant choice to be the main babyface of the 4. She had also been training the longest, and had been a defector mouthpiece for the women from the first meeting they'd had with Loomis, so was seen as the senior member (despite being the youngest of the 4 at just 18).</p><p> </p><p>

Finally, Ryo Matsuda from Japan spoke very little English but they women had cast her as the spiritual, serious one who could function as the secondary babyface.</p>

SPW Pro Wrestling 20 Preview

Here is the press release for SPW Pro Wrestling 20:

Southern Pro Wrestling is back in Beaumont, Texas for another slice of crazy grappling action as the biggest stars prepare themselves for SPW Octoberfest!

At the big show later this month, El Espiritu will defend the SPW World Title against Joe Boone in one of the most anticipated matches of all time. The pair will meet in the ring before that however, as at SPW Pro Wrestling 20, they will be on opposite sides of the ring as El Espiritu and Young Guns participate in a big grudge match with Boone and his Alliance stable mates, Levi Andrews and Friedrich Herzog! This will be the first time El Espiritu has had the chance to get his hands on Joe Boone since Boone's betrayal that led him to joining The Alliance, back on the 4th of July, so you can bet that the World Champion will be more than up for this one.

The SPW Mid South Title will also be defended for the first time at SPW Pro Wrestling 20 as Champion, Nathan Hayes, puts the title on the line against the man he defeated in the tournament to crown him, back in July, Dustin David. The pair haven't met in the ring since that tournament final which saw Hayes emerge victorious. The circumstances for this contest however are very different, last time both men had already come through 2 tough bouts to reach the final, this time, they'll both be fresh from the get go, so this promises to be a real battle.

History is being made at SPW Pro Wrestling 20 as well, as the first ever women's professional wrestling matches will be taking place! 4 women have lined up to compete in a knockout tournament to crown the SPW's first ever Women's Champion and this show will include both semi finals! In the first of these, the mysterious Diamanta will face Japanese talent Ryo Matsuda, while in semi-final number 2, local favourite Melinda Bell will face the unhinged Consuelo Montero. The fans in Beaumont will get a first look at these women wrestlers as they make history at SPW Pro Wrestling 20!

The hostilities that have pitted Saita Kuroki against Perry Bryant, and No Nonsense against Escuadron, will merge at SPW Pro Wrestling 20 as Kuroki and No Nonsense team together to face Bryant and Escuadron in 6-man tag team action. With the respective feuds due to come to a head at Octoberfest, this will be the last chance for the various competitors to get their hands on one another before the big night.

The tag team division continues to get more competitive as the months pass and SPW Pro Wrestling 20 provides a big opportunity for 4 teams to stake their claim for a Tag Title shot at Octoberfest with no official challenger having yet been named. Firstly, Night Fever will take on The Kuroki Boys- Night Fever have previously had a number of chances against the tag champions, Young Guns, but will be hoping that they can position themselves at the top of the tree of contenders once more with victory at SPW Pro Wrestling 20. Also, The Chivalry are up against the newly formed team of Mike Lewis & The Puzzler.

Finally, after making his debut last month in the 15-man battle royal, and impressing by having made the most eliminations during the match, Spike Morgan makes his official singles match debut when he takes on Carl Hackney. Can Spike Morgan continue the momentum from his impressive debut performance? Find out at SPW Pro Wrestling 20 by grabbing your ticket today!

El Espiritu & Young Guns vs. Joe Boone, Levi Andrews & Friedrich Herzog

I´m thinking Espiritu will beat Boone when the title is on line and that´s why I give Boone this one in order to give him win over champ to keep him strong.

SPW Mid South Title Match- Nathan Hayes vs. Dustin David

Hayes ain´t dropping the belt this quickly.

Women's Title Tournament Semi-Final- Melinda Bell vs. Consuelo Montero

Women's Title Tournament Semi Final- Diamanta vs. Ryo Matsuda

Well, you said that Bell would be the default main face thanks to her being the only American so I made my picks with the idea that she would likely get at least into finals of this tournament is she is meant to be the top face and naturally that means that heel should advance in the other match

Night Fever vs. The Kuroki Boys

Fever is higher on the pecking order.

Spike Morgan vs. Carl Hackney

Rookies usually don´t win much but Morgan had most eliminations in the battle royal so I´d assume you plan to build him up from the beginning and Hackney have been low enough on pecking order that I could see you putting newcomer over him.

Saita Kuroki & No Nonsense vs. Perry Bryant & Escuadron

I´m thinking Bryant will win the blow off match between him and Kuroki so I go with Kuroki getting a win here in order to even things out.

The Chivalry vs. Mike Lewis & The Puzzler

Named team over random pairing
