6 out 8- not bad at all, and all the tournament matches correct (including the lining up of a face vs. face match in the semi-final). Can't believe I've only just realised you had an effganic thread going yourself, and just as I found it it seems like it's over!

Your diary was actually one of the big reasons why I started mine as I have always loved empty database games but felt they wouldn´t work well as diary. Well, then this came along and I learned that it could work just fine. And yeah, it´s over, couldn´t recover the file which is a shame as I was hoping to make that a long one but those things happen.

Summer Super Tournament Final- Perry Bryant vs. Daniel Loiselle

Surprisingly enough, I have´t had a need to fix my initial thinking so far on this tournament so I still go with Loiselle winning here as Bryant already gets his big moment by just being here.

SPW World Title Match- Joe Boone © vs. Levi Andrews

Andrews ain´t going to be the one who takes the belt off from Joe.

Friedrich Herzog & Leroy Disco vs. Spike Morgan & Nathan Hayes

Was bit surprised faces won the last encounter but perhaps heels tie the score here.

SPW Women's Title Match- Melinda Bell © vs. Diana Gosselin

Thinking Bell is going to be your face for women wrestling for a little while.

La Oscuridad vs. Dustin David

Oscuridad looks to be taking step forward in terms of his push. David has looked pretty solid on my eyes as well but sounds and looks like he might be slighly overperformed by some of the other later arrivals like Berik, Osciridad and Ishibashi.

No Nonsense, Scott Levesque, Masao Kobayashi & Bernie Hughes vs. Double Shot, Austyn Taylor, Danny Cool & Big Z

Bit of a coin flip match so could see this one going either way but I do feel that face side is slighly stronger overall.

Summer Super Tournament Semi Final- Perry Bryant vs. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi

Bryant is the only heel on top 4 so he´s very likely to get into finals but Ishibashi have had great performance in this tournament already and he´s spot at top 4 here marks the first time I start to see him as more than just tag guy.

Summer Super Tournament Semi Final- Daniel Loiselle vs. Emilio Suarez

Lots of history here and it´s going to be a great match even if it´s face vs. face. I do expect Loiselle to go forward with Boone not giving him a title shot otherwise since that´s sounds like more logical story to me.

27th August 1922. Jackson, MS.

Attendance: 373

Match 1: Summer Super Tournament Semi-Final Match- Daniel Loiselle vs. Emilio Suarez

DIrVef3.jpg vs. 8gT5EHp.jpg

In a decent match, Daniel Loiselle drew with Emilio Suarez in 30:00 when the time limit expired.

Rating: 52

After the match, owner of SPW, Don Loomis came to the ring.

4lD9Ews.jpg

He told Loiselle and Suarez that as a consequence of their draw, they were both eliminated from the tournament!

He then announced that the match between Perry Bryant and Tetsuyuki Ishibashi would now be effectively the final, and would take place later in the show as tonight's main event.

Rating: 25

Before the next match, a beaming Thomas Appleseed came to the ring with Austyn Taylor and their newly won tag team titles.

xKawI4N.jpg

He told the babyface team of the next match, that they have no faith, and that is why they will lose tonight.

Rating: 46

Match 2: No Nonsense, Scott Levesque, Masao Kobayashi & Bernie Hughes vs. Double Shot, Austyn Taylor, Danny Cool & Big Z

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Anderson Ambriz, Beau Joslin, Masao Kobayashi, Scott Levesque and Bernie Hughes defeated Michael King, Carl Hackney, Danny Cool, Austyn Taylor and Big Z in 7:49 when Masao Kobayashi defeated Danny Cool by pinfall with a Flapjack.

Match 3: La Oscuridad vs. Dustin David

uKbM6t2.jpg vs. xmDEPG9.jpg

In a decent match, La Oscuridad defeated Dustin David in 10:59 by pinfall after using a foreign object.

Rating: 52

Match 4: SPW Women's Title Match- Melinda Bell © vs. Diana Gosselin

2ffzFYi.jpg vs. aM8W6or.jpg

In a poor match, Diana Gosselin defeated Melinda Bell in 9:01 when Melinda Bell got disqualified after going into an attacking rage.

Rating: 36

Match 5: Friedrich Herzog & Leroy Disco vs. Spike Morgan & Nathan Hayes

6RNouzl.jpgkAlHp55.jpg vs. xjocTA7.jpglj2pNRH.jpg

In a poor match, Nathan Hayes and Spike Morgan defeated Friedrich Herzog and Leroy Disco in 13:20 when Spike Morgan defeated Leroy Disco by pinfall with a Jumping Knee Plant.

Rating: 38

Match 6: SPW World Title Match- Joe Boone © vs. Levi Andrews

0GMbMmW.jpg vs. jee5VHL.jpg

This bout had a decent reaction from the crowd, thanks to the heat on the Alliance vs. New Alliance feud. For the match, Joe Boone had Spike Morgan in his corner and Levi Andrews had Friedrich Herzog in his corner.

xjocTA7.jpg6RNouzl.jpg

As you might imagine, Morgan and Herzog were engaged in a game of cat and mouse throughout and it was in the end that this proved decisive when, after Morgan tried to trip Andrews from outside the ring, Herzog attacked Morgan and the pair got into a scuffle, meanwhile, Andrews distracted by the trip and by the fighting between Herzog and Morgan was easy prey for a low blow (which the referee missed due to the same distraction). Boone then hit a piledriver to take the victory via pinfall in 14:45.

Rating: 40

Match 7: Summer Super Tournament Final- Perry Bryant vs. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi

b3eCW1P.jpg vs. otIrGJI.jpg

In a decent match, Tetsuyuki Ishibashi defeated Perry Bryant in 21:11 by submission. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi wins the SPW Super Summer Tournament.

Rating: 35

Overall Show Rating: 39

<p>SPW Summer Super Tournament 1922 Night 2 Aftermath</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

There had been much debate between Don Loomis, Frank Norris and Jay Lutter about the outcome of the tournament and whether booking Daniel Loiselle and Emilio Suarez to go to a time limit draw in the opener was a bit of a swerve on the audience. Norris was not a fan of it, arguing that they had advertised a tournament final, but Lutter argued that they still got one, it just wasn't perhaps the final that anybody was expecting. Whatever the case, the Suarez/Loiselle encounter became the 2nd best match in company history with a rating of 52, as these two men continued to deliver in the ring. </p><p> </p><p>

The main event, which saw Tetsuyuki Ishibashi take a surprise win in the Summer Super Tournament, did not deliver quite as strongly as management had hoped for. In fairness, this was Ishibashi's first main event match (save for some multi man encounters in the past) and his longest singles match yet. The contest wasn't just a proving ground for Ishibashi however, and the fact that the match, while perfect serviceable, didn't quite hit the level hoped for, was just as much a reflection on Perry Bryant as his opponent. </p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Ishibashi, management were concerned with his behaviour during the night, as his attitude towards his fellow pros was awful. They had never had any issues with him until the night and so they hoped that this could just be put down to pre match nerves, but having just give him a major victory in attempt to turn him into a bone fide main event player, it wasn't encouraging. </p><p> </p><p>

The Loiselle/Suarez match was equalled in terms of quality, by another very good encounter between Dustin David and La Oscuridad. The chemistry between the two was so high that even though the importance of their matches had been nowhere near the level of some others, their ratings were amazing. The problem remained however, that Jay Lutter simply did not see the creative upside of either man and was struggling for inspiration when it came to taking either up to the next level.</p>

SPW Pro Wrestling 31 Preview

Below is the preview for SPW Pro Wrestling 31...

Now that the Summer Super Tournament is done, the grapplers of Southern Pro Wrestling are focussing on a new set of goals and challenges as they jostle for supremacy in the most competitive fight league in the world!

Fresh off of his surprise victory in the Summer Super Tournament, Tetsuyuki Ishibashi is looking ahead to Octoberfest where he will face World Champion Joe Boone. However, in winning the tournament, Ishibashi and his partner in The Kuroki Boys, Masao Kobayashi, lost their tag team titles to The Faithful's Thomas Appleseed and Austyn Taylor, when the challengers took advantage of Ishibashi taking part in his 2nd gruelling match of the night to win the belts on night 1 of the event. At SPW Pro Wrestling 31, The Kuroki Boys are going back for the tag straps, and this time Ishibashi will be fresh- can The Kuroki Boys win back the belts and build some much needed momentum for Ishibashi as he approaches the biggest match in is career, or will The Faithful continue their impressive rise in SPW?

Perry Bryant was the man who lost in the final to Ishibashi, and has once again been denied a World Title shot at the final hurdle. This has become a regular occurrence for Bryant, who has been desperate for a chance for the belt since January when Joe Boone chose instead to put his title on the line against El Espiritu due to the fact that the Mexican Sensation was willing to put his mask on the line against the Champion in order to get the shot. In that Title vs. Mask match, Boone retained his title and took El Espiritu's mask, thanks to the interference of a bitter Perry Bryant.

When the unmasked El Espiritu returned to SPW after a couple of months off (now known as Emilio Suarez), he immediately went after Bryant to gain some revenge on the man who'd cost him his previous identity. This all came to a head on the 4th of July, when Suarez took a pinfall victory over his rival to seemingly close the issue. However, Bryant decided he was not finished with Suarez, and following disappointment in the Summer Super Tournament is eager for a chance to prove himself against one of the top stars in SPW, putting out a challenge for Suarez to face him one more time, which Suarez has duly accepted.

Joe Boone was able to retain his World Title yet again at SPW Summer Super Tournament Night 2 against Levi Andrews as the war between The New Alliance and The Alliance rages on. Ever since the split in the original Alliance took place, both sides have been trying to add to their ranks, with Boone recruiting Spike Morgan to join the New Alliance while Levi Andrews managed to add Leroy Disco to The Alliance. Now finally, we will see all involved go at it in a major 6-man tag affair, as Boone, Morgan and Nathan Hayes face Andrews, Disco and Friedrich Herzog!

Two feuds that have been bubbling away for a little while now are coming together for an explosive mixed tag team match when Dustin David & Melinda Bell take on La Oscuridad & Diana Gosselin. Bell has retained her Women's Title in successive matches against Gosselin, albeit in less than convincing circumstances, firstly by pinning Gosselin despite the challenger having her foot on the rope at the time, and then by getting disqualified after seeing red in their most recent encounter. Meanwhile, Dustin David and La Oscuridad have met each other twice in recent months, with La Oscuridad picking up the win at SPW Summer Super Tournament Night 2 after using a foreign object. Further singles encounters appear to be in the future for both these feuds, but for now they collide here.

On top of all of this, there is set to be action featuring former World Champion, Daniel Loiselle, former Tag Team Champions, The Chivalry, a rematch between Danny Cool and Bernie Hughes and much more as SPW is firmly on the road to Octoberfest!

SPW Tag Team Title Match- The Faithful © vs. The Kuroki Boys

Wonder if your plan is to break Kuroki Boys here as I don´t see them winning the belts back but also hard to see Ishibashi losing clean here after just winning a big tournament so one turning on another feels most likely outcome here to me.

Emilio Suarez vs. Perry Bryant

Wonder if Bryant not winning the tournament means you aren´t particularly sure if he´s the guy you should push at the top as he would have been in better position than Ishibashi in my eyes for the push. Either way, I think Suarez wins this one and we just have to see where Bryant goes from here.

The New Alliance (Joe Boone, Nathan Hayes & Spike Morgan) vs. The Alliance (Levi Andrews, Friedrich Herzog & Leroy Disco)

Thinking faces need the win here more.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Carl Hackney

These guys are on differend ends of the pecking order.

Consuelo Montero vs. Ryo Matsuda

Matsuda had been bit into bad spot, being same aligment than current champion and I assume her momentum wouldn´t be particularly good thanks to all those losses. Montero on the other hand, probably benefits a bit for champion being face as with just six girls in the division, every heel needs to be decently strong so they can challenge Bell when their time comes.

Dustin David & Melinda Bell vs. La Oscuridad & Diana Gosselin

Could see this one going either way but I give it to heels.

Danny Cool vs. Bernie Hughes

It start to feel like Cool might be on his way out.

Scott Levesque vs. Big Z

Thinking Levasques chances for quick push had come and gone, while Big Z still could receive one.

No Nonsense vs. The Chivalry

They are simply better team although if Kuroki Boys do break up, perhaps there could be a chance for upset victory here. Still, I go with who I see as better team.

4 out of 9- I get what you're saying about Perry Bryant/Tetsuyuki Ishibashi in terms of who was set to get the push. Ishibashi did feel a little like coming out of nowhere, though I feel like to win the tournament, he didn't have to defeat anyone major (Appleseed, La Oscuridad and Bryant), plus Bryant was a heel so a match with Boone at Octoberfest just didn't feel right. It's weird, I'm trying to explain my booking decisions without giving anything away for the future which is really hard!

<p>SPW Pro Wrestling 31 Aftermath & News</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The main event of SPW Pro Wrestling 31, which had seen The Faithful successfully defend the SPW Tag Team Titles against The Kuroki Boys, was disappointing, especially given that The Kuroki Boy's Ishibashi would be participating in the main event of Octoberfest in a month's time. With a rating of 32, it was the lowest rated main event the promotion had put on since Nathan Hayes had defeated Dustin David in the main event of SPW Pro Wrestling 17, in the tournament final to crown the first Mid South Champion, all the way back in July 1921. Having said all that, Ishibashi was the stand our performer in the contest and so the management team tried to maintain their enthusiasm for the push they were giving him. </p><p> </p><p>

There was far better action to be found further down the card, as the opener between No Nonsense and The Chivalry had really impressed (as had star of the match, Squire Albert Berik), the mixed tag match, which was far from a surprise given the chemistry between La Oscuridad and Dustin David, and also, the 6-man tag bout that featured The Alliance against The New Alliance- World Champion Joe Boone was especially good in this one. But, as so often is the case, it was Daniel Loiselle who was the overall MVP, taking a nothing match against tag wrestler, Carl Hackney, and delivering a 50 rated bout. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">News</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

There was romance in the air of Southern Pro Wrestling as two different couples made it public that they were in a relationship together- the first was Diamanta and La Oscuridad, real name Aubrey Turcotte (Turcotte was a Canadian, though portrayed a Mexican masked wrestler in front of the audience), the other was between Ryo Matsuda and Spike Morgan. </p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="CdzKKCg.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/CdzKKCg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Pride of Germany presented their latest show 'Final Cut' on the 20th September in front of 286 fans, which was another slight improvement on their previous best, it was also their best from a critical juncture too, beating Dirty Livin 1 by 1 rating point overall (for a Show Rating of 35). In The main event, Tellus Chalkias attempted to win back the PoG World Title that he'd lost to Pygmalion Angel back in April- unfortunately for Chalkias he came up short as Angel defeated his rival by pinfall in a 38 rated match (and won match of the night honours). Elsewhere on the show, Friedrich Herzog failed for the 2nd month in a row to win a title, this month falling to defeat against Peter Jelinek for Jelinek's PoG Arena Title. Berg Andersson also held onto his PoG National Title with a count out victory opposite Eetu Larsen.</p>

In just a couple of weeks, Tetsuyuki Ishibashi takes his World Title opportunity, earned by winning the Summer Super Tournament, against Joe Boone at Octoberfest. At SPW Pro Wrestling 32 however, they will meet in the ring for the first time ever, in tag team action as Ishibashi and his regular tag partner, Masao Kobayashi, will face Boone and his stable mate, Nathan Hayes. The Kuroki Boys are a great team but have been coming up short as of late having lost their tag team titles in August and then failing to win them back last month. Can they defeat the New Alliance pairing of Boone and Hayes? Or will the Champion go into Octoberfest with the psychological advantage?</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Speaking of the New Alliance, their war with Levi Andrews and his Alliance is far from over, and SPW Pro Wrestling 32 plays host to two matches where that war is squarely at the heart of the action. Firstly SPW Mid South Champion, Perry Bryant, makes his first defence of the title after defeating Friedrich Herzog at SPW Summer Super Tournament Night 1, when he defends against Leroy Disco. This will be a contest between the newest members of both stables and therefore they will be equally eager to provide a good first impression.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Also, in a battle of the big men, Friedrich Herzog will face Spike Morgan, 1 year after Morgan's debut in the company at SPW Pro Wrestling 19. Very few people would have predicted the rise of Morgan since that night, despite the impressive performance he put in during the Battle Royal that took place, but having competed well against Daniel Loiselle in 3 matches over the course of the summer, and now being a part of the World Champion's New Alliance stable, Morgan has to be seen as a bona fide top contender within SPW. A victory over Friedrich Herzog would cement Morgan's position near the top if he can achieve it. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

The SPW Women's Title will be on the line at the show as Melinda Bell makes her 3rd defence against Diana Gosselin, who some have argued has thus far been unlucky not to take the title. On the 4th of July, Gosselin was pinned by Bell despite it appearing as if Gosselin's foot was on the rope during the count and then when the rematch took place, Bell only escaped with the belt because she got disqualified and the belt can not change hands on a DQ. Diana Gosselin will be hoping that it will be 3rd time lucky at SPW Pro Wrestling 32.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Last month at SPW Pro Wrestling 31, Daniel Loiselle earned himself a victory against one half of Double Shot, Carl Hackney but ended up the worse off out of the two men, when a post match attack, by both Hackney and his regular tag partner, Michael King culminated in him being powerbombed through a table by the pair. Since then, Loiselle has asked for a match against King, looking to gain a measure of revenge, but with threat of Hackney looming, can Loiselle take it for granted that the same won't happen again, whatever the result? </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

All this plus The Chivalry, No Nonsense, The Faithful and Young Guns as Southern Pro Wrestling makes its last stop before Octoberfest! </em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

SPW Pro Wrestling 32

2nd October 1922. Beaumont, TX.

Attendance: 177

Match 1: The Chivalry vs. Dustin David & Bernie Hughes

dX61G2L.jpgMHEy4YU.jpg vs. xmDEPG9.jpgI9fwGhU.jpg

In a poor match, The Chivalry defeated Dustin David and Bernie Hughes in 11:42 when Sir Anthony Henry defeated Dustin David by pinfall following interference from La Oscuridad.

Rating: 42

Match 2: Daniel Loiselle vs. Michael King

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Daniel Loiselle defeated Michael King in 8:07 by submission.

Rating: 49

ymkrBm7.jpg

After the match, Double Shot again jumped in and attacked Daniel Loiselle. This time Loiselle recovered but at that point Double Shot were able to flee the ring to get away from him.

Rating: 21

Match 3: The Faithful vs. The Young Guns & Ryo Matsuda

xKawI4N.jpg1O264UX.jpgSOzrHVi.jpg vs. 9TS3Mud.jpgF0SO0Oy.jpgE14Mu1S.jpg

In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Ryo Matsuda and Young Guns defeated The Faithful (Thomas Appleseed, Austyn Taylor and Consuelo Montero) in 14:30 when Roland Pascual defeated Austyn Taylor by pinfall with a Face-Plant.

jee5VHL.jpg

Up next, Levi Andrews came to the ring and asked Emilio Suarez to join him.

8gT5EHp.jpg

After Suarez came out, Levi Andrews had the following to say:

"I watched what happened last month like everyone else, and saw once again that The New Alliance had been victorious, not because one of their number was deserving of a victory, but because of the numbers game. And this time there was a certain twisted poetry to it because, Perry Bryant managed to get a pinfall victory over you, Emilio Suarez, the man who helped Joe Boone to defeat to take his mask from him. The New Alliance are rigging the game, and we are all pawns to it, and so Emilio Suarez I am asking you to join me, Friedrich Herzog and Leroy Disco in the fight against them."

Suarez's response was not what Levi Andrews was hoping for however:

"Levi Andrews, you have got a lot of nerve speaking the way you do. What you failed to mention as you made your little speech was that Joe Boone was working with you when he took my mask. You and your cronies helped him win the very title he holds today. You're only on the right side of this thing because Joe Boone happens to be a worse tyrant than you are. Don't get me wrong, I will never stop fighting against The New Alliance but I won't do it standing side by side with you."

Rating: 29

Match 4: SPW Mid South Title Match- Perry Bryant © vs. Leroy Disco

b3eCW1P.jpg vs. kAlHp55.jpg

In a poor match, Perry Bryant defeated Leroy Disco in 10:19 by pinfall by using underhanded tactics. Perry Bryant makes defence number 1 of his SPW Mid South title.

Rating: 36

Prior to the next match, Danny Cool came out with his partner for the fight, Big Z.

AkyeJir.jpg8wMMztk.jpg

Cool grabbed a microphone and said that the most successful time in his career was when he was a tag team wrestler, and since that ended, his career has never been the same, so tonight he is putting his focus back on tag team wrestling and seeing whether Big Z is the man to help him break the losing streak he has been on.

Rating: 16

Match 5: Danny Cool & Big Z vs. No Nonsense

AkyeJir.jpg8wMMztk.jpg vs. woi6tgy.jpgxdkaygP.jpg

5 out of 8- welcome, great to have you on board! Pretty decent first set of predictions here- nobody predicted the draw between Herzog & Morgan, most predicted Gosselin to take the women's title, and the 6-person match was always 50/50. Out of interest, did you read back to the start, or did you just pick things up from this point? Just interested to see how people are engaging with the story.

5 out of 8- decent predictions, you got all the undercard matches correct, those top 3 matches were a general problem for everyone- of 12 predictions between everyone for those matches, there were only 3 correct, so it was tough.

Joe Boone & Nathan Hayes vs. The Kuroki Boys

Thinking this is here to give Ishibashi win over Boone before their title match.

Friedrich Herzog vs. Spike Morgan

Morgan gives New Alliance some momentum back with other´s losing in main event.

SPW Women's Title Match- Melinda Bell © vs. Diana Gosselin

Probably going to pick Bell until she drops the title.

The Faithful vs. Young Guns & Ryo Matsuda

Don´t think Faithful are going to drop the belts anytime soon so figuring Young Guns get their wins from non-title matches.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Michael King

Doh.

The Chivalry vs. Dustin David & Bernie Hughes

Again, real team over random pairing.

7 out of 8- Cracking round of predictions, with just the draw tripping you up (which shouldn't really count should it!?) Would it have been the biggest surprise in history if Loiselle had lost here?

<p>SPW Pro Wrestling 32 Aftermath</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the slight disappointment that had been the final of the Summer Super Tournament, and the main event of the previous show, both of which Tetsuyuki Ishibashi had been a key part of, there was happiness at the quality of the main event of SPW Pro Wrestling 32, which garnered a rating of 46. This provided the kind of reassurance in Ishibashi's ability that management were looking for, as they prepared for him to headline Octoberfest against Joe Boone for the World Title. </p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Ishibashi, the personality issues that had risen to the surface at SPW Summer Super Tournament Night 2 had not been repeated since so Don Loomis was putting them down to nerves, as Ishibashi prepared to headline for the first time. There had been however. some behavioural issues with Dragon Lee lately who, along with partner Roland Pascual, had just returned after a couple of shows off. The management team were concerned that the size of the roster, as well as recent announcements about relationships beginning in the company were destabilising the good levels of morale they had enjoyed backstage in SPW thus far.</p><p> </p><p>

Squire Albert Berik once again carried more than his fair share of the work to make the opening contest a solid affair. Berik continues to impress and was being seriously considered for a main event push of his own. The women meanwhile continued their slow improvement- both Melinda Bell's most recent title matches had received 36 ratings which were the highest for any women's matches up to this point. Bell had been the division's most consistent performer, no question, but Diana Gosselin deserved a lot of credit for the way she had come in and raised the bar in her matches with the Champion.</p>

SPW Octoberfest 1922 Preview

Here is the preview for SPW Octoberfest 1922...

SPW Octoberfest is finally here as the stars of pro wrestling converge on Jackson to wage war, settle scores and battle for the grandest prizes in the sport!

In the main event, SPW World Champion Joe Boone, defends his title against the young and impressive Tetsuyuki Ishibashi. Ishibashi secured his shot in the main event of the show by outlasting 15 other men to win the Summer Super Tournament in August but undoubtedly faces his toughest challenge to date here. Boone has held the World Title for a full year having won the belt at SPW Octoberfest 1921 and has since taken on all challengers. What's more, Joe Boone always has a plan up his sleeve, often involving the members of his New Alliance stable. Can Ishibashi pull off another major victory and take the SPW World Title, or will Joe Boone's reign continue unabated?

In addition to the World Title match, there will also be two other titles on the line as Women's Champion Melinda Bell defends against Consuelo Montero , and Montero's Faithful stable mates, Thomas Appleseed and Austyn Taylor will defend their tag titles against former champions, Young Guns. Montero has been on a good run since joining with Appleseed and Taylor in The Faithful, and she will undoubtedly pose a real threat to the Champion. But Bell has now settled into her role as de facto leader of the women's division, and will be looking to make a 5th successful title defence at Octoberfest.

Thomas Appleseed and Austyn Taylor have risen to the top of the tag team ranks in quick order since coming together for the first time back in May- that night the pair defeated their challengers at Octoberfest, Young Guns when they used the mind games that have been a major weapon in their rise. In subsequent months, Young Guns picked up injuries at the hands of their rivals, and as a consequence missed out on the chance to compete in the Summer Super Tournament, they returned to SPW last month however, to resume the rivalry and, having been tag champions in the past, will be as hungry as ever to regain the straps here.

Talking of tag team action, Double Shot have been a thorn in the side of former World Champion Daniel Loiselle In recent months. In successive matches, Loiselle has defeated both Carl Hackney and Michael King in singles action, but has been attacked in the aftermath by the duo. That is why Loiselle has challenged the pair to a tag team match and has surprisingly called upon his old nemesis, Emilio Suarez, to join him to take down his opponents. With Loiselle and Suarez coming together to form possibly the most awesome tag team in the history of the sport, can their egos be held in check, or will previous tensions make them easy targets for their experienced tag opponents?

There appears to be no end in sight in the war between The Alliance and The New Alliance as representatives from both sides of the divide will compete in head to head matches at the show. Firstly, Friedrich Herzog and Spike Morgan will meet in a rematch from their collision at SPW Pro Wrestling 32, where both men were counted out such was the ferocity of their battle. Then, Levi Andrews and Leroy Disco will team together to face the combination of Perry Bryant and Nathan Hayes. Levi Andrews may have been knocked back in recent months as he tries to add a fourth member to The Alliance and even the odds between the two groups, but with Joe Boone tied up in a major World Title collision, is this the chance for his group to regain the advantage?

Octoberfest is also set to play host to what should be the conclusive match in the feud between La Oscuridad and Dustin David, as well as a rematch between The Chivalry and No Nonsense, who went to a time limit draw with each other at SPW Pro Wrestling 31. All this and more is set to unfold at the October spectacular- it's going to be a massive night in Southern Pro Wrestling's history- do not miss it!

Rating: 52

After the match, Daniel Loiselle took the house microphone:

"Emilio Suarez, I want to thank you for joining me tonight and agreeing to be my partner, I know you must have had reservations, and I know some time ago, we agreed to stay out of each other's way but I needed a team mate tonight to deal with Double Shot, and you stepped up.

There is another reason however, that I wanted to speak tonight because I feel as if we have some unfinished business to attend to. You see, during the Summer Super Tournament, you and I went to a 30-minute time limit draw which prevented either one of us going on to the final. That was a bitter pill for me to swallow because everyone knows Joe Boone has been ducking me since December and I needed to win that tournament to force Boone's hand. So Suarez, I am asking you for one more match- next month, here in Jackson, at SPW Pro Wrestling 33- face me in a match with no time limit, and let's find out who the better man is, once and for all.

Suarez pauses only for a second and then nods in the direction of Loiselle, before leaving the ring.

Rating: 34

Before the main event, Masao Kobayashi came to the ring.

AjjSNVs.jpg

"After everything that has happened over the past year since Joe Boone won the World Title, I decided that my partner could do with some back up. And so I am going to stay at ringside and ensure that The New Alliance don't become involved in this match.

But I didn't come alone, I realise that I would be heavily outnumbered if I stood out here by myself, so I brought some further back up- ladies and gentlemen, please welcome back to SPW- Saita Kuroki!"

As expected, The New Alliance tried to make their presence felt but the presence of Saita Kuroki and Masao Kobayashi stopped them from making an impact on the contest, leaving the two competitors to battle it out 1 on 1.

In a decent match, Tetsuyuki Ishibashi defeated Joe Boone in 22:29 by pinfall with a Flying Tackle. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi wins the SPW World title.
