So today is the big day, Big Ryan called us all to a meeting at the “Dojo,” which is really just his dad’s huge garage. After piddling the day away, 3pm finally came rolling around so myself, my brother (Todd), and my girlfriend (Shauna) all made our way to the “Dojo.”

“The Dojo”

1QLAY6s.jpg

“Welcome everybody, I’m happy that everybody could make it, I got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that January? will be our last show for Ellwood City Wrestling League.”

KiRLG5D.jpg

“What do you mean it’s the last show?” I was livid, as was everybody else in the room.

1QLAY6s.jpg

“Wow guys simmer down, let me get to the good news, I have been keeping this a secret but I applied for a small loan to see if we could take ECWL to the next level, you know away from being a small ‘backyard’ promotion to a real deal wrestling promotion. And well, I got the loan!”

We all erupted, this was huge, I mean we have all been talking about it lately, and hoping this was going to happen but dang, I didn’t believe it would be this soon.

1QLAY6s.jpg

“Now, I know you guys got a lot of questions, but I first want to reveal our new logo and name…”

“Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling, and our first show is going to be either in February or March. We are going to hold one more ECWL show at the end of January and make the big announcement. I am going to need everybody on board big time, and everybody that is here is going to hold some kind of extra position to help out. We can get to that, but I want to announce the man who is going to help me book all the matches and put together the shows, please congratulate our booker, the one who has been beside me with this dream ever since the beginning…. Little Ryan!”

Man it has been a wild two weeks since our last official ECWL show. We have been generating some buzz around the local wrestling community in PA, and even got featured on some wrestling websites. I still can’t believe that we are launching our own wrestling company, and that Big Ryan decided to give me the books. He tasked me with scouting some localish wrestlers to bring in for our first official Championship Tournament. It hasn’t been easy, as money is tight and I cannot afford to travel to a bunch of local shows, so I resorted to watching clips online, which is okay I guess. After Big Ryan and I talked (thankful some of the other guys chipped in) we settled on bringing in 8 other guys so that everybody on the roster could have a first round match. I also was able to convince Big Ryan to bring in the LA Stars to face me and Loftis in a tag match, just to break things up from all the 1v1 matches that were going to be on the card. Once we settled on the card and the direction moving forward, expect for the first champ, which I argued should be Big Ryan, but he really doesn’t want to win the title right now. Luckily we have another month or so to figure that out. These first two shows are really going to cost us, but I hope in the long run it will pay off.

Big Hoss

The resident cowboy and good ole Southern Boy, standing at 6’6 270lbs (Bulky Light Heavyweight), Big Hoss comes to PPW from the farms of Kentucky. Born and raised on a horse farm that produced several Kentucky Derby competitors. Despite his love for horses, Wild West movies, and all things cowboy, it was pro wrestling that really drew his attention. He was particularly in love with watching old tapes of Southern Championship Class Wrestling. Despite there not being a wrestling program at his school, he was able to enroll in boxing classes and excelled as a local golden glove winner. While his family wanted him to continue in the family business, of raising horses, once PPW opened its door he came for a shot at something different, a life of a true cowboy, drifting and kicking ass all around the states, but for now he would starting Pittsburgh, and show the yanks what a real southern boy could do!

l3bAqSc.jpg

Bison

The big, bad 6’8, 300lb (muscular heavyweight) wrecking machine known simply as Bison has been dominating and destroying opponents in PPW since the beginning. While little is known about Bison as he tends to destroy opponents rather than talk, we do know that he was a military brat and lived all over the World, before settling down in Pittsburgh. No Bison hopes to continue his dominating ways in PPW and maybe even the rest of the world. Such a monster should have little problem standing out and getting attention, which leaves us wondering, is there anybody in PPW that can stop him?

Loftis

The quiet, ripped Middleweight was a standout wrestler all throughout high school. He was heavily recruited by several colleges, but instead chose to chance his childhood dream of being a professional wrestler. He grew up watching NOTBPW as he loved the technical aspects of wrestling, and was disappointed that he was rejected by the House of Stones training camp as he idolized Jeremy and Dan Jr. Now he is determined to not only show the world what a great wrestler he is, he plans to bring his technical prowess to the forefront of wrestling again. He loves to finish off his opponents with the Loftis Deathlock as a tribute to the ever deadly Proton Lock.

KiRLG5D.jpg

Ryan Castle

The youngest member of the roster, standing at 6’, 235lbs (Toned Middleweight) is one of the most athletic members of PPW. He prefers a quick in-your face approach mixed with strikes and a fair share of high flying moves thrown in. His cool, calm demeanor has already won the crowd over and only time will tell if he can live up to his full potential and become a champion here in PPW.
