Hello, I had a couple of suggestions for 1992:

- Options for expansion to India. It seems to be a mostly empty region. The lack of promotions for most of the game is understandable as there aren't really any promotions in India until the 2010s, but no workers are set to be available there and no broadcasters exist there, which would inhibit anyone trying to create their own company that is based there. I made a few personal edits to my own copy of 1992 that I think improve things.

-- Create Ring Ka King (TNA's expansion project in India) set to open December 2011 (as in real life) and all of its Indian roster set to debut in November 2011. This isn't an immediate term change but it will flesh out the game world for normal term.

-- Made every foreign worker who worked in Ring Ka King (Jeff Jarrett, Chavo Jr., Gallows, Davey Boy Jr., Sonjay Dutt, etc.) available in India. Also made all Indian workers and workers of Indian descent available in India (for sensibility's sake).

-- Created a few Indian broadcasters that were open in the 90s. It starts with only DD National (against wrestling, high requirements) but in 1993 Zee TV opens and in 1996 ESPN Star Sports opens.

-- I also did something interesting for the latter two broadcasters: require Small size but only require 8 popularity in all 3 regions of India. This would be the spillover popularity for a company with no shows in India and in the 40+ popularity range in the US. I did this to better reflect sporting and popular entertainment channels in the "third world" of wrestling, so to speak, being more open to foreign shows because domestic shows are effectively non-existent.

- There are also records of RINGS shows from late 1991-early 1992 with some extra workers who aren't on the starting RINGS roster. Cagematch has a list of shows here. I just thought it might be good to increase the number of "proto-MMA" workers in the world so that players playing the shoot-style promotions might be able to make realistic hirings.

I would be willing to work on these directly - expanding databases to include obscure and niche content is one of my favourite things to do. Simply PM me if you think I could help out.

It's funny that you mentioned India because that is one of the areas I am working on for the next update! It probably won't have a great deal (especially in the 90's) but it was one area I wanted to at least make playable down the line for players.

I use Cagematch religiously (alongside Luchawiki, wrestlingdata and Puroresu System) and the main reason I've not included people (such as Tiger Levani, Shtorm Koba or Igor Kolmykov) in RINGS is because there is little to no info on them. birth date, debut and a picture are my minimum requirements (although sometimes I will accept only having the year of birth and debut).

Did Alex Abrahantes debut in 96 or 98?

When I tried to add him to a game the first match I found was in 98.

His in ring career was super brief, so not super important, but I'm probably his biggest fan :o

I vaguely remember an interview saying he wrestled a match in 1996 before he enrolled with the Harts but I could have it completely wrong so will change it to 1998 - in any event the guy is just living his best life with everything he has achieved so far.

Problem I do have though is you can only set someone to retire at 25 (and he retired and joined WWE Creative at 23) which means he will continue wrestling into 2002 instead of having his last match which was March 2000.

You could set up a narrative with high effect strength to hurt him and possibly cause him to retire from in ring work. Would also need to add the attributes Future Manager, Future Announcer, and Future Color Commentator.

*edit*

Would also like to see the Nightmare Factory and it's graduates added.

Brock Anderson, Brick Aldridge, Carlie Bravo, Anthony Ogogo, Charlette and Robyn Renegade all come to mind as possible additions to the data that were trained by Glacier, QT, and Cody Rhodes.

I shall add them today.

In AJPW & NJPW news, the changes to the schedules have fixed the money issue. Now both companies are making a profit every month.

So hey ! I wanted to ask if there is any chance the Flashpoint 2020 will ever get an update ?

And if not. Do you by chance know what exact issues are with the mod. As id love to take over it and update it. :)

To be honest, I have no idea what to do with it. I have no ideas and don't want to just add to it for the sake of it without giving thought behind it. If you want to update it, then feel free.

More modern worker requests if you get a chance:

Reka Tehaka

Toa Linoa

Added Reka Tehaka. Toa Linoa is already in the data... (Toa Liona)

I am super excited for 1992 2.0, do you have any idea when it's going to be ready as I think I will use it for my next long save? Thank you :)

Not sure on a release date yet. I've a few more things I want to do so it all depends on how busy my work and social life gets, but looking about mid July (latest).

That '92 mod is great, thanks. The only point of difference that I've come across so far is Bill Watts - maybe no surprise considering that he's one of the industry's most controversial figures! And it's a small difference because most of the picture seems right. Even guys like DiBiase who did well under Watts say that he was a bully, not to mention the takes of those who he clashed with. But I'm not sure about "Unapproachable".

sounds like a TEW2020 incident in which a Bully "passes on tips" to his Protege. Douglas is pretty firm that he learned a lot from Watts, so the in-game skill increase makes sense too. There are quite a few other guys (e.g. Magnum) who think that the Cowboy was a "mean coach" type rather than a pure tyrant. Cornette's even taking to saying that Watts was straight-up right about the way he ran his promotions, though you never can tell if JC's just doing it for the heat.

Anyway, I'm not sure that Watts should have Passes On Knowledge (as veterans without this attribute do take proteges), but Unapproachable will stop the game from generating historical behavior and that doesn't feel like the right result.

If you don't have him already, Ricky Morton's son Kerry is probably worth adding.

Kerry Mortonwas born April 2001. Debut is a bit opinion-based. He worked a match in 2016 with Ricky but it was probably a gimmick. Cagematch has him working another tag match in 2020, but July 2021 seems to be when Kerry really started as a pro wrestler.

His body type's Average. Kerry lacks definition but doesn't have the gut for Flabby. He looks like a Lightweight who might be able to bulk up to Middleweight. (Shoot height 5'11".)

I'd put him down as a Regular wrestler with a good foundation: 3rd gen, a competent amateur wrestler (state champion as a teenager) - and a cheerleader, which, snickering aside, does seem like a good background for a pro wrestler. He's adequate on the mic & flashes charisma but still comes across as a bit obvious when trying to work the crowd.

While Kerry's a pure babyface in the NWA, I can see how he'd play a heel so no need for a Disposition slant. I cannot imagine him working a dominant or bad ass gimmick and he probably can't do Mysterious and Offbeat either. (He just doesn't seem like a weirdo.) If you're prepared to gamble on "Plays well" attributes, probably Swagger and Underdog.

Lastly, it would probably be fair to add "The Mortons" (Ricky & Kerry) as a tag team with low (~10?) XP to represent familiarity from Kerry's training.

I'd give him decent-ish star quality and sex appeal as well. He's got a good look. I'd put him in the 60-69 category in both.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am looking to have the update out next weekend. It hasn't had any work done to it since end of June as I had COVID and it wiped me out completely (over the worst now).

Anyway, I'm going to have one last little push on the mod this weekend to see if I can do any more to it.

One last note for the update: watching the latest NWA taping block and Kerry Morton's showing significant in-ring improvement. I stand by the summary above for initial skills, but it is out of date for where the guy's at now (he doesn't just flash charisma: he is charismatic and draws the crowd into the match with his selling & fire). Because your DB tends to be bold with assigning Attributes I'd pull for Kerry getting Prodigy.

Not home so can't check if she's in already, but Jimmy Yang's daughter Jazzy Yang would be a nice addition if she's not already in.

I think I added her a couple releases ago when I was doing the "Kids of wrestlers who now wrestle" phase.

Just now adding Kerry Morton using Big Mark Smarks info.

Heck yeah. I think her and Miranda Gordy have a good upside.

This is probably the final additions/fix list for the weekend. I may have a couple of minutes each day through the week if anything comes to light in that time but should be uploaded Saturday.
