The world is falling apart. Four years removed from a catastrophic tsunami, the Japanese people are barely beginning to recover. The economy has tanked. The population is declining. Extremism is rising. In times like these, people need professional wrestling more than ever. But as their presence became increasingly important, Japan’s squared circle titans were nowhere to be found. Tadayuki Kikkawa and Yoshimi Mushshibo retired. Haruki Kudo ran the country’s most historically-important promotion into the ground. Koji Kojima and Koki Ishibashi were in cahoots with organized crime. Enter Natsu Miyamae. Seizing the reigns of BHOTWG, Japanese wrestling’s crown jewel, Miyame is now tasked with righting the ship. It’s not just about what happens between the ropes. It’s about giving the people hope. Poet Justice
<div style="color:black;border-style:solid;border-width:2px";"> Champions [覇者] BHOWTG World Championship Kinnojo Horri 5 Time Champion Reign started on Week 3 August 2019 "The big daddy of all belts in Japan, the BHOTWG World Championship is highly prestigious and has a glorious lineage behind it. The legendary Tadiyuki Kikkawa is considered the greatest former champion." BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Championship Sensational Dragon 6 Time Champion Reign started on Week 3 December 2019 The most prestigious junior heavyweight title on the planet, the BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Championship has been held by some of the greatest in-ring workers in history since its inception in 1981. BHOTWG World Tag Team The Killing Floor [Nissho Yuasa & Hirokumi Saito] First Time Champion Reign started on Week 3 October 2019 A belt that goes in and out of fashion regularly, the BHOTWG World Tag Team titles have been around since 2002 and have quite an eclectic array of former holders. BHOTWG Japan Michio Gensai First Time Champion Reign started on Week 3 September 2019 Created by Natsu Miyamae as one of his first acts as head booker, the BHOTWG Japan title is designed as a secondary championship that can be used to try out future contenders for the World championship. BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Rebel Run X [Hijo Del Relampago & Jin Miyamoto] First Time Champion Reign started on Week 3 September 2019 One of BHOTWG's lesser titles, the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team championship tends to get passed around a lot depending on who's available and who's in need of something to do. Poet Justice
Jan. Week 1 Announcement: Tag-Team Tournament Announced [ishikawa Stadium plays host to BHOTWG's search for the next big tag-team.] For the past five years, the BHOWTG faithful have complained about our deviation from classic heavyweight tag-team wrestling. We hear you and we think you’ll be delighted to hear our big announcement. Ten of the best tag-teams from all across the world will participate in a single-elimination tournament. The stakes are high, the winner will get a title shot against our champions, The Killing Floor, at the Burning Path PPV. Don’t fret, as the second place duo will also be offered a full-time contract to wrestle for BHOTWG. Let’s meet the teams: Black Iron Corps 🇯🇵 The first of three domestic tag-teams, awesomely named Black Iron Corps might have the most to gain from a good showing. Comprised of Azumamaro Kita and Fuijo Narahashi, the Corps boast an excellent, hard-hitting attack. Kita brings his MMA pedigree into the squared circle while Narahashi is the muscle, battering opponents with old school puro offense. The duo wrestles out of Pro Wrestling SAISHO, owned by Japanese legend Mito Miwa. House Handsome 🇺🇸 Any fan of sports entertainment will recognize House Handsome. While they were best known under a different name, the mainstream American duo of Frederique and Handsome Stranger have a chance to make a name in the Land of the Rising Sun. With over half a century worth of combined experience, House Handsome knows every dirty trick in the book and will use every single one if it means going all the way. Samoan Demolition 🇼🇸 Not to be mistaken with GCG’s Samoan Destruction Inc., Samoan Demolition will be making their Japanese debut in our tournament. The Polynesian pair features the Brisbane Devil and King Malietoa. Big-boned and hard-hitting, the two make for a perfect fit in puro. A great showing for Samoan Demolition could open a lot of eyes in the wrestling world. The Atlantic Connection 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Reunited and it feels so good. The Atlantic Connection spent the last decade as one of North America’s most technically gifted tag-teams. The Brit-Am partnership features America’s Riley McMagnus and the UK’s Curtis Jenkins. Unfortunately, a passport issue meant Jenkins had to move back to the United Kingdom, ending the team. Luckily for their fans, the two are back and will be competing in our tag-team tournament. Since their breakup, McMagnus has become one of the top stars for New York City Wrestling and Jenkins has opened up his own wrestling company back home. Modern Warriors 🇦🇺 While relatively unknown here in Japan, the Modern Warriors are two of the greatest Aussie babyfaces of all-time. One look at this golden-locked, sun-kissed muscle-bound dream-team tells you just why they’re such a big deal down in the Southern hemisphere. Captain Wrestling II is a 3x world champion that seemingly walked out of a superhero movie. His size, strength and perseverance makes him one of the tournament’s most dangerous participants. In his corner is the beloved Kerry Wayne, a 2x world champion himself. The patriotic, heroic Wayne embodies a “never say die” mentality and has orchestrated some of the most odds-defy comeback victories in Australian wrestling history. Furasawa & Miyazaki 🇯🇵 The son of legendary GCG owner Hanshiro Furusawa, Mabuchi Furusawa is the inaugural Black Canvas Wrestling World Champion and will be reuniting with long-time tag-team partner and Japanese free agent Shingen Miyazaki. Given their ties to The Golden Army, the duo should have no shortage of friends in the BHOTWG locker room in the event they need backup but this capable team might not need it. Furasawa is one of the very best in Japan right now, and Miyazaki is an accomplished all-rounder and has trained under the legendary tutelage of Haruki Kudo and Dan Stone Jr. The Northern Lights 🇬🇧 Representing the United Kingdom will be The Northern Lights. One of the best kept secrets in wrestling, The Lights are composed of Alton Vicious and Riddick Jordan, two of the hardest hitters in the sport. It’s a shock that neither man has previously wrestled in Japan. Riddick Jordan is a high-impact hitter with game-changing striking while Vicious rounds out the the team with ungodly power and athleticism. If you haven’t seen these two work, you’re in for a treat. Savage Fury 🇼🇸🇮🇩 Java returns to BHOTWG, bringing his long time tag-team partner Tribal Warrior into the fold. The two men make up Savage Fury, one of the best known big men tag-teams in modern professional wrestling history. Their formula is simple but brutally successful: overwhelm and overpower their opponents with their size and strength. Yano & Kikuchi 🇯🇵 The odds on favorite in this tournament have to be Yano & Kikuchi. A physically imposing duo featuring the commanding BISON Yano and the equally overwhelming Brute Kikuchi, the two have run roughshod over the PGHW tag-team division. Their arsenal of suplexes, stiff strikes and ground-shaking chokeslams all but ensure a fantastic showing this month. The McWade Brothers 🇨🇦 Lastly, the legendary duo of the McWade twins make their long-awaited BHOTWG debut. The rough-and-tumble Canadian brothers have a staggering 10 world tag-team titles under their belt along with a pair of Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cups. Large, violent and bloody, the two have left a trail of destruction reaching across North America all the way to Japan. While age has weathered the two, they remain a dangerous out in the tournament.
